I once did a one shot called “A Hand For A Hermana” where Julieta helps Pepa with Dolores when she and Isa are babies because Lolita is literally being a damn MENACE and Pepa wants to cry, whereas Isa is being an angel for once 😂 I’m planning on rewriting it though, so would that be something you guys would wanna see? To be fair, I might use it as the opening of my one shot series about the Madrigal kiddos honestly. Thoughts?

Encantober Day 7: Storm
Well. The day had been a complete disaster. Everything had started out wonderfully; all the wedding preparations had gone according to plan and, miraculously, even Pepa’s weather was holding up. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, the sun was shining almost as radiantly as Pepa herself, and it was going to be a beautiful wedding.
Until Bruno walked in.
Pepa was pacing back and forth, trying to burn off the nervous energy. Nothing had gone wrong. Yet. She knew better than to expect something in her life to go off without a hitch. Her stomach was doing somersaults. But it felt like, for once in her life, the bad feeling was going to be proven wrong. Nothing in the world could possibly ruin this day for her.
She should’ve known better than to underestimate her bad luck.
Bruno was standing off to the side, just observing, the way he always did. He rarely involved himself in things. But this was Pepa’s wedding day, and she’d be damned if she let her only brother just stand there and watch instead of participating.
“Bruno.” She marched right up to him. “What are you doing?”
He shrugged noncommittally. “Waiting for the wedding to begin?”
Pepa sighed, exasperated. “Bruno, there are still things that need to be finished. The decorations aren’t done, and the chairs- why aren’t you helping the rest of the men with the chairs? Go help!” She demanded, shooing him towards the chairs.
Bruno whistled lowly. He looked Pepa up and down, then glanced up at the crystal-clear sky. “Looking like rain, huh, sis?”
Pepa put a hand on her heaving chest to calm herself. “What?”
Bruno offered her a sympathetic (or was it pitying?) look. “Is it gonna rain?”
“Rain?” Pepa began to panic. It couldn’t rain today, of all days. Not now, at the start of her and Félix’s life together. Bruno should know better than anyone about bad omens, and he had summoned the worst of all. As soon as the thought crossed her mind, the sky darkened. “No. It can’t rain today. Not today.” She wrung her hands together, pacing and muttering prayers for the rain to just wait until tomorrow, please.
“It’s kind of looking like it’s gonna rain.” Bruno pointed out, his eyes drifting upwards uneasily. “Hey, wait- where are you going?”
Picking up her skirts, Pepa fled. Raindrops began hitting the cobblestones next to her. Somehow, she made it into the church and tried to calm her erratic breathing.
Thankfully, the ceremony was always going to be held inside the church. It went as smoothly as anyone could expect. Except her mantilla fell off in front of everyone and she had to pick it up and drape it back around her shoulders. Then her hand shook as she lit her candle. Luckily the candle that symbolized their unity stayed lit, unlike in the many nightmares she’d had leading up to today.
These slipups left her feeling a bit embarrassed, but Félix had kept beaming at her. No matter what anyone said to her afterwards, at least he would be there to comfort her.
Finally, the ceremony was over, and everyone exited the church…to a scene of total chaos and devastation. Debris was strewn everywhere. Bits were still tossed about by the wind. The cobblestones gleamed from the rainfall that had soaked them, judging by the little rivers flowing to lower ground. And the sky…the beautiful blue sky had darkened like night had fallen several hours early.
The bubble of hope Pepa had held in her chest popped. How…how could this be? When she’d been getting ready, everything was so beautiful. Not a single cloud in the sky, let alone…whatever this had been. Everything had been fine, until…until she talked to Bruno. Her eyes blazed furiously. It was all his fault. He’d mentioned rain, and then this happened. Up until then, there had been no sign of rain. It had to have been a vision. How else could there have been such a terrible storm on that sunny day?
Stupid Bruno. He had to pick today of all days to deliver bad news. Here, Pepa; why don’t I portend your marriage with a lovely storm? That’s a good wedding present, right? No bad omens here. Just here’s what I think about how your marriage will turn out. No big deal.
Feeling lightheaded, Pepa ran back into the church, seeking refuge from the storm inside her mind. She ran up the aisle, crushing flower petals as she went, tearing down the flowers decorating the pews. It didn’t seem right for the decorations to be so beautiful when the wedding had been so awful. When she got to the front, she ducked into a side room, closing the door behind herself.
Was the wetness on her cheeks from the rain or her tears? She really couldn’t tell. Nor could she tell how long she’d been inside there. Darkness surrounded her; she’d forgotten to bring a lamp. Cursing under her breath, she tried to smooth out her dress as best as she could without being able to see. Maybe it was better that way. She probably wouldn’t like what she saw.
Suddenly, the door opened. Julieta stood inside it, haloed by light from the church. “Pepa?”
“Julieta.” She tried to keep the quaver out of her voice, wiping the tears off her face. “What are you doing here?”
Julieta laughed incredulously. “It’s your wedding day, Pepa. Surely you didn’t think no one would notice you missing?”
Pepa scoffed. “They’re probably having a better time without me. Without the weather witch who ruins everything.”
“No one has called you that in years.”
“Whatever. It’s not like anyone cares I’m gone.”
Julieta raised an eyebrow questioningly. “Are you sure no one cares? Because I can think of someone who cares very much and is confused about how he ended up alone on his wedding day.”
Pepa choked back a sob. “He’s better off without me. I ruined everything. In case you haven’t noticed, a hurricane passed through town. That wouldn’t have happened if he’d married someone else.”
Julieta sat down next to her. “Yes, there was a hurricane. But the man is crazy about you, Pepa. He’d move the earth for you.” She took Pepa’s hands in her own. “Where is all this coming from?”
Pepa shook her head, unable to speak through the tears. “Stupid Bruno,” she blubbered.
“Bruno?” Julieta asked, confused. “What does Bruno have to do with any of this?”
Pepa huffed impatiently. “Everything was perfect until he showed up and told me it was going to rain. What kind of a vision is that to tell someone on their wedding day?”
Julieta nodded slowly, absorbing this information. “Ah, I see. Pepa…you know Bruno isn’t the best at talking to people. I’m sure he didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“What he meant doesn’t matter.” Pepa crossed her arms over her chest, wringing out a bit of water from the dress. “He made it rain on my wedding day. He ruined everything.”
Julieta frowned. “He’s not the one with control over the weather.”
“Well everything was fine before he showed up,” Pepa retorted. “How else do you explain it?”
Julieta opened her mouth to speak, then shook her head. “Okay, so…it wasn’t the best thing to happen,” she said diplomatically.
Pepa barked out a cynical laugh. “You can say that again.”
“But it wasn’t the worst either,” Julieta persisted. “Pepa, do you know what’s going on outside?”
“I was trying not to think about it.”
“Let me tell you. Outside, there are musicians playing and a crowd of people dancing in the rain. There’s also a family waiting to celebrate a wedding they’ve been planning for ages, and a groom missing his bride.” She held up a finger, preempting Pepa’s protests. “Stop. Have you seen the way he looks at you? There is nothing on earth that would make him choose anyone but you. When he looks at you, that’s what love looks like.”
Pepa groaned, burying her face in her hands. This whole ordeal had exhausted her. She didn’t have the energy to argue with Julieta right now. All she could say is, “People will talk.”
“They might.” Julieta wrapped her arm around Pepa’s shoulders. “But today doesn’t have to be a complete loss.” She tilted her head towards the wall. “Listen. The rain is over.”
Pepa sniffled miserably. “Finally.”
“I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what comes after the rain.” Julieta smiled warmly.
“Mud?” Pepa guessed, confused as to where Julieta was going with this.
“A rainbow, Pepa.” Julieta squeezed her in a hug. “And I’m sure it’s beautiful.”
A small smile appeared on Pepa’s lips. That sounded nice. “A rainbow,” she repeated faintly.
Julieta stood up, holding out her hand towards Pepa. “Let’s go see it.”
Sure enough, the colors arcing through the sky were brilliantly vivid. But they paled in comparison to the real rainbow in Pepa’s day, who was waiting for her by the door. He offered her his hand and said the two most wonderful words she could imagine.
“Let’s dance.”

The year is 2034, the ice caps are melting but we finally got Encanto 2— forcibly called Encan2 by Disney. They kicked Jared bush off the project due to creative differences (he didn’t do what the Disney overlords asked of him)
Before the film came out Disney tried to purchase the entire country of Colombia. It did not work.
The film takes place five years into the future. Everyone is heterosexual. The plot is a gift swap and the OG songwriters have been replaced with all the song writers for ‘Wish.’ Alma dies at the end. Mirabels only character trait is ‘girlboss.’ Camilo finally gets some attention from the narrative but his only character trait is “I like a girl.” And nothing else happens expect for him liking a girl. Isabela and Dolores have five kids each.
Luisa also dies on screen too because the writers forgot how to write strong female characters so this was the alternative.
At one point Antonio looks into the camera and goes, “erm, he’s right behind me isn’t he?”
There is no god. Encanto 3,4,5 and 6 are announced right after.

Werewolf au? Werewolf au.
Man when I tell you- I feel like I got more lore for this silly little au than my canon story-
I hope to do more works that hint at that lore eventually. The people I've told have all really enjoyed it
Bonus- my own ocs (those would be werewolves anyways, sorry sofia)

PB&J triplets
Tumblr media
The triplets as teens.
Color design has always been strong in Encanto. Bruno’s design with the green over red pants and tunic hints to how Alma’s influence is deep under the surface, but an archetype of Bruno’s seer identity is on top, not quite fitting. He’s not quite self actualized.
Julieta while serenely in her own skin by Encanto Movie times, shows here as having vestiges of her mother, perhaps as she takes on the mantle of that generations guide and the most palatable of the triplets.
Pepa though anxious, seems to be the most self-actualized.

Encanto. Luisa and Mirabelle.
Tumblr media
The Madrigal family.
Tumblr media
Due to the fact that when I was on vacation, my younger cousins watched this cartoon several times a day, I got into it and was inspired by it. And I also fell in love with Luisa and her relationship with Mirabelle (it was just so nice; the eldest is a big, gentle and caring sister and her younger sister, who supported her during a difficult time). Which brings different ideas for this character to my mind. >.< I'll probably make a few more drawings, but I'm not sure that the Incanto theme will be for a long time. :3

Encantober Day 10: Help
Julieta had everything under control. Really. She’d had her gift for…how many years now? It was second nature to her. Besides, she enjoyed helping people. And cooking. What could be better than a gift that allowed her to do both?
So maybe it had been more challenging lately. With a toddler and a baby, Julieta found it took her more time and effort to accomplish the same tasks she did with ease before. But that was no excuse. If anything, it was all the more reason to try harder. After all, she had more people relying on her now. Everyone was relying on her. She couldn’t let them down. They were counting on her.
All she had to do was replenish her reserves of magical healing food, take care of her two little ones, and cook dinner. Her family had graciously helped out by rotating cooking meals instead of having her cook every day. Luisa slept most of the time, and Isabela was such a sweet child, people were bending over backwards to spend time with her. Really, if you took all that into consideration, it left relatively little for her to do. She’d finished restocking the magical food. Now all she had to do was cook dinner.
Easy. She could do it in her sleep.
“Julieta.”
She awoke with a start to Pepa shaking her shoulder. “Eh?” She rubbed her bleary eyes.
“Julieta, wake up.”
“Did I fall asleep?” Julieta mumbled sleepily. She raised her hand to cover a yawn and noticed that it was covered in the sauce she had been preparing. It left a trail leading to the bowl, which had sauce smeared down the side. Horrified, she yelped and wiped everything down frantically with the nearest towel.
Pepa scrutinized her. “Juli, when was the last time you slept?”
Julieta tilted her head, thinking. Last night had been hard. Luisa had been colicky and the day before Julieta had been busy taking care of injuries around town. “Uh…”
“It’s taking you way too long to answer,” Pepa noted.
Julieta shrugged, deflated. “I’m not sure,” she admitted.
“That’s concerning.”
Julieta ignored her.
Pepa took a seat beside her. “Julieta, what is going on?”
Julieta took a steadying breath. “Nothing. It’s my turn to make dinner. So I’m making dinner.” She yawned widely. “I’m just… a bit tired, that’s all.”
“So you decided the empanada filling would make a good pillow?”
Julieta gave her a confused look.
“You have some, on your cheek.” Pepa gestured to her own cheek.
“Ayyy.” Julieta dabbed at her face furiously.
“Julieta…” Pepa reached out, taking her hand between her own. “You don’t have to do everything on your own. Asking for help is allowed, you know.”
Julieta shot her an uncharacteristically scathing glare. “I don’t need help. I have everything under control.”
“Right…” Pepa said sarcastically. “That’s why I found you with your face planted in the bowl. Because you’ve so clearly got everything under control.”
Julieta’s lip wobbled. This was so embarrassing. Not only was she letting everyone down, but it was so noticeable Pepa was calling her out on it. Tears stung her eyes, and she swallowed hard to keep them at bay. “It’s my turn to make dinner,” she repeated stubbornly, trying to keep her hands from shaking.
“Yes, and you clearly are not feeling up to it,” Pepa explained patiently, as if to a small child.
Great. Now Pepa was being patronizing. Could this get any worse? Julieta gulped, her breathing uneven. “Everyone has been so kind, taking most of the cooking off my plate. I only cook dinner once a week now. It’s the least I can do.” If she couldn’t even do that…what was she good for?
“Yeah, Julieta, other people are stepping up. You want to know why? Because you are busy taking care of a small child and a baby. They don’t have to deal with those responsibilities. Despite that, you’re still keeping up with your gift duty. Somehow you’re still cranking out buñuelos like nobody’s business.”
Julieta chuckled faintly. “No one else can do it. I have to keep going with it.”
Pepa cocked her head as if conceding the point. “Well, other people can cook. So let us help you.”
Julieta stared at her. The words weren’t really registering. All she could do was latch onto- “You’re gonna help with cooking?”
Pepa shrugged. “Yes? Is that such a crazy idea?”
Julieta tapped her chin thoughtfully. “The last time I let you cook, you almost set the kitchen on fire trying to boil water.”
“That wasn’t my fault,” Pepa fumed. “The stupid pot wasn’t boiling, and I got mad, and I didn’t realize a lightning bolt would zap the fire!”
Seeing Pepa get worked up over the memory was what broke her. To her sleep-deprived brain, it was the funniest thing ever. She broke down into a fit of laughter, struggling for breath, as she laughed so hard, she cried.
“Oh sure, laugh at my pain,” Pepa quipped, but there was no edge to her words. Her lips curved into a small smile. “I’ll remember that the next time you make a mistake.”
“I don’t make mistakes, Pepa.” Julieta tossed her hair behind her shoulders, sending up a plume of flour.
“Ah yes, you totally meant to soak your hand in the sauce.” Pepa grinned.
“Ay, enough about the stupid sauce!” Julieta flicked her with flour.
Pepa flicked her back. Before the scene could devolve into a flour fight, she placed her hand between them in a truce. “Okay. So what still needs to be done?”
Julieta took stock of the situation. “The dough and filling are done, so I just need to roll and stuff the empanadas before cooking them.”
“You mean we,” Pepa corrected. “Because I’m helping you, whether you like it or not, so you might as well like it.”
Julieta sighed. “Fine. But you’re staying away from the stove. I don’t want a repeat of the ligh- the incident,” she amended upon seeing the stormy look in Pepa’s eyes. “Here.” She thrusted a spoon at Pepa. “You can fill the dough once I’ve shaped it.”
“So little faith,” Pepa shook her head goodnaturedly, but accepted the proffered spoon.
They began working quietly.
“Not so much, Pepa.” Julieta placed her hand on Pepa’s wrist, stilling her hand with the spoon hovering over the dough circle. “If you overstuff the empanadas they’ll explode.”
“And if you understuff them, you’ll get empanada scented bread,” Pepa muttered, but scooped out a bit of filling before crimping the empanada shut. “Better?”
Julieta nodded her approval. “That’s one down…” she looked at the almost completely full bowl of filling, “several dozen more to go.”
“Good thing you have me to help out, eh, hermana?” Pepa elbowed her gently in the side.
Julieta had to admit she was right.
“I don’t know how you thought you could do it alone,” Pepa continued, getting into a rhythm with the empanadas.
“Don’t push it.”
Soon, the tray between them grew full. Much faster than if Julieta had been left to do it alone, especially since she was still struggling to stay awake.
As much as she hated to admit it, Pepa was right. Maybe it was okay to ask for help sometimes.

thinking abt how Pepa must’ve been longing to be connected with people but couldn’t. like she wanted to comfort her siblings and her childhood friends when they were sad, but she gets sad too and she often gets them annoyed or sick with her rain. the only people who understood and was fond of her rains were Bruno and Felix.
she wants to help others emotionally, but people mistake her empathy as needing help so they end up comforting her instead (the opposite of what she wanted to do)
and it extended to her motherhood. sometimes she envied how Julieta’s kids were not hesitant to come to her when they get hurt, how much more normal Julieta is as a mother. she gets sad about the fact that her kids were more drawn to Felix than her when they’re upset.
she loves that Camilo learned to be so patient and understanding to her, but she also wished he didn’t only come to her to take care of her, but rather ask to be taken care of. That’s why their toddler years were the best (despite the most stressful) for Pepa, because they only saw her as a mother they didn’t hesitate to come to, not yet understanding the inconveniences of her gift and why they should walk eggshells around her.
everyone was afraid of triggering her storms, so they kept a considerable distance emotionally. it didn’t help Pepa’s case because she has a big heart but no one willing to share it with

I know this movie is recent-ish, but the lack of an Encanto series is still crazy to me.
Like, it doesn't even need crazy magical lore, it can be episodic, it's so simple:
Family dynamics not seen in the movie
Why doesn't Mirabel have a gift (theory of her being the next matriarch being the most obvious one)
Seeing the other rooms
Bruno's new interactions with the townspeople and the family
FERAL ISABELA!!!
Dolores and Mariano
Unexplored trauma with Dolores and Camilo, GET THEM THEIR SOLO SONGS!!!!
The dads' sides of the family
Abuela Alma trying to do better
Childhoods of the triplets
On that same note, how the couples met each other.
More on Alma and Pedro. Etc
And if you wanted new stuff, HAVE THEM OPEN THE ENCANTO TO LET MORE PEOPLE IN, new technology that Encanto doesn't have access to, new ideas and cultures - it can even bring drama if the new people try to do bad things and the family goes all x-men on them.
It's so many possibilities that if they never do it it's a damn shame.
