This is my first attempt ever to draw a person! I had a hell of a time getting the size of the eye right...tricky business this portrait drawing is! This is my daughter's face and the other half is a super rough rendering of a geode. I am thinking of putting together a project of portraits with part of their face exposing the beauty beneath in geode fashion. Sometimes you have to try real hard to find the untouched parts of people but if you "hammer" away at the exterior long enough a unique and real beauty can be found...hopefully. #graphite #drawing #portrait #peoplearehardtodraw #geodes #rockface #art

Finished version of Alex Horne! So surprised that it not only looks like him, but that I rather enjoyed painting a person instead of an animal! I was going to do a colour pass, but I really like how it looks, so greyscale he remains!
