the way RTD is actively admitting he's making shit up without thinking about it "because reasons" and trying to generate content above crafting a coherent story is wild to me. like never mind "why would you do that", why would you ADMIT THAT??

Yeah, he has a tendency of doing that. I mean, I get that sir certain things to happen for the sake of the story but they need to make sense in story otherwise you’re scratching your head going “but why?“ Can have a problem of making stories too complicated and interconnected. Chibnall was good at getting at the emotional heart of a story and he actually carried forward things that happened from the episodes beforehand, which I really was impressed by. Even if his Grandos ideas feel somewhat rushed in a bit half baked. I can handle his more so than Russells because chip was rushed out of pretty much Doctor Who whereas Russell should’ve had experience with this matter, considering that he ran the show for grand total of four seasons and several specials and yet he still can’t get it. Russell has a tendency of making great set ups but very disappointing payoffs. See stolen earth/journeys end for one of the biggest flops. And that’s if you’re being generous because some people include Sound of Drums/ Last of the Time Lords with that one.
