Since it's spooky season...

I recently started watching Grotesquerie and I'm two episodes in. Aside from the performances, one thing that's stood out to me is the fact that there's no explicit sense of time or place. It's undoubtedly set in small, retro leaning (right??) town, but overall, it's muddled in an uncanny way that's been intriguing.

There's even one character in particular, Nurse Redd, who almost seems like she's from a completely different time than all the others, aesthetics wise.

BUT I digress. Something that's been on my mind (which directly correlates to where I am in the show) is that each character has a thing or destructive vice that's so in-your-face. There's something about having their oddities and flaws be so overt that creates such underlying tension and unease.

I somehow managed to start this without knowing about Ryan Murphy's involvement and was sitting there like... hmmm, it's giving Ryan Murphy.

Don't know how things will pan out, but I'm along for the ride at this point so we'll see.

The Pens' special on Jaromir Jagr's jersey retirement won a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy, as did its "In the Room: Consistency of Success" episode. Another Emmy was won for editing, in general, presumably for work including ITR.

Tell me again -- or, you know, just once -- why FSG canceled ITR?!

So I've been watching Gotham recently and I LOVE this version of penguin. I know people love Gothams take on the riddler (so do I but he's not my favorite version) this version of the penguin is my favorite, it combines the wacky elements of his character (he somewhat reminds me of Tim Burton's penguin a lot of the time) and the more gritty. It's awesome. He needs more love he's so pathetic ❤️

anyway I was thinking about the cinematic parallels with chef and Chris from total drama and how it's literally the same fucking thing that happens in Hannibal mostly.

murderous eccentric loved by many: Chris

manipulates, doesn't care how many he kills because it's exciting: Chris

mutilates and disfigures people for his own enjoyment: Chris

wealthy: Chris

gets sent to jail because he's a fucking murder: Chris

pulls a good guy and turns him evil and is gay for him: Chris

I can go on and on, uh you may be saying

"what the fuck?? that happens in this show??? what's it even rated??"

it's PG, guys.. it's a kids show. total drama is surprisingly dark, it's awesome I suggest it if you like weird shows that are a spoof of survivor.

but my god is the show literally just Chris being fucking murderous and gay for chef the entire time.

THIS MAN HAS KILLED 78 PEOPLE HE CANNONICALLY WENT TO PRISON FOR IT. CHEF LITERALLY GOT HIM OUT.

(mostly it was the show getting another season, idk how they got him out of jail. 100% it was chef tho)

like they are full on murder husbands, this show is so chaotic and cringe but mostly just "CHRIS WTF" it's fucking great.

literally inlove gay murder husbands, it's fucking crazy how similar it parallels Hannibal (2013) while being older than it.

I love this show it's awesome.
