the blockade on kl is probably my favorite running gag in s2. it is certainly preventing all seaside travel to and from the city, except for if you are trying to sneak in and do crime, sneak out and flee, move large groups of people out of the city to supplement the war effort, or send food to the citizenry. but if there’s. uh. any OTHER reason to sail into the city that might exist, well, watch out for the blockade!

the hotd fandom’s reaction to gwayne hightower has been nothing short of baffling to me so far. it’s no secret that people’s love to hate criston cole has been prone to making them miss the point in a major way but this to me is kind of a new level. the idea that he is “slay” or “serving cunt” or even that he legitimately sees through criston and resents him for being a bad person is a stunning misinterpretation of what the show is obviously saying. which is that gwayne hightower is racist. he talks to criston that way because criston is brown. and poor.

so fucking weird to me how acceptable it is to say “alicole is just alicent replacing rhaenyra with criston” or “rhaesaria is just rhaenyra replacing alicent with mysaria” in the hotd fandom rn. i like rhaenicent as much as the next person i guess but sometimes it feels like you guys really don’t want to face the fact that this story is sometimes about people of color

my most prized musketeers headcanon is that aramis sustained like permanent brain damage from that mortal head wound in savoy and now a stiff breeze can knock him out. he’ll be sparring in the yard with the cadets and one of them will cuff him on the cheek and he just drops like a stone. porthos is inconsolable like the first ten times this happens

bbc merlin episode 4x06 the secret sharer not looking good for nontoxic merlin believers i fear. gwaine “not arthur” nolastname curls up in your lap and offers you comfort and help when your fatherfigure has been framed for treason and you have the nerve to say “what are you doing here? i’m busy?” he did not get enough of a rancid karmic response for how he did lancelot and now he thinks he’s free from consequences. hello morgana i saw your infomercial i’d like to report an emrys

ok here’s what I think about merlin and uther. I think everything the show does is fine and perfect and congruent in tone. but if I could make some fun little changes I would say, okay, merlin clearly was an altruist once but by seasons 4-5 he’s more an altruist when he can be, when it’s easy, when it can’t hurt arthur (so is he really one at all?) and if we speed along that character development a little, then the wicked day doesn’t actually need morgana to do anything but react to her fathers death. merlin is impulsive, hurt, emotional. he looks at the comatose form of the man that enacted ruthless genocide on his people and the man that abused arthur and morgana all their lives and thinks, no, I can’t do this, I won’t breathe life back into this body. and lives with the guilt of that all his life.

yknow it’s not even really an exaggeration to say the plot of bbc musketeers makes MORE sense if you assume all of the characters are in a polycule and this is just absurd relationship drama. that gets said about a lot of shows but it’s only true of a few (like my good friend bbc musketeers)
