I pulled C1 so why not finally gush about him UNDER THE CUT

Look. I just. Love him. One of the things I really like is that he presents as like this very formal very well educated man (which he is these things he knows so many thing) but he’s got VERY low wisdom. Money? What’s money? Everyone loves this about him but I just find it so endearing as well. I think it also can apply to emotions - while it doesn’t come up in game I think he’s still learning why people react the way they do (I feel autism/adhd vibes with him, though I lean to adhd since that’s the one I know since I have it) and he can sometimes be confused by it. And he doesn’t always react the way people expect either. He’s generally way too chill compared to the average person but that’s also pretty great. Me, who has a conniption about EVERYTHING, with Zhongli, the calmest person ever. It’s a good balance I think.

Additionally. After his story quest it makes it pretty clear to me that while he knows all the facts he’s not actually interested in correcting people. He only tells um. Fake archeologist girl about Havria because she breaks the contract. Like he was totally willing to let her just believe he was a horrible god who assassinated Havria for no reason like. He’s unconcerned. It’s really interesting to me? I have this horrible tendency to want to correct people anytime something is even a little wrong but he just doesn’t care.

Despite this, he does engage in discussion with other people. I was just so taken by the fact that he’s on the Pearl Galley associating with historians and archeologists and just being like, “oh this isn’t my opinion this is a fact” like I don’t get the feeling that he cares if they believe him, but he’s still just going to say his piece straight up KEWHFKJW he’s pretty straightforward which turns out to be quite cute a lot of the time.

Okay in basically every fic I write I talk about his eyes being intense. His eyes are so gorgeous though like. I just. When I look at Zhongli fanart I always beeline to the eyes because when done well they just. They’re gorgeous. I think I’d get lost staring into them (he doesn’t mind though) or staring while he’s doing something else you know...they’re just...so fucking pretty

Look at them. Also? eyeliner game is on point. AND HIS OUTFIT IS SO FANCY AND WE ALL KNOW I’M A SUCKER FOR FANCY OUTFITS

I think people also gloss over this to make him a himbo but even though I said he’s low wisdom he is very high int. He’s super smart and cunning. What he pulled off in Liyue while a bit cruel in many ways took so much planning and wit. And I’ve no doubt there’s a ton of that which goes on behind the scenes all the time, even as he presents himself like a bit of a clueless man at times.

Also I know I say this everytime but the idea of him infodumping to me just gives me all the happy chemicals 😭😭😭 please tell me everything!!! And listening to me gush and dump in return!!! It’s just!!! So good!!! Really really good makes me really really happy. He’s definitely the kind to learn about my interests simply because they are my interests too.

I won’t go into detail because it’s a complicated story that’s also way too long, but I’ve sort of felt that way before too (thinking it might be better if I just disappeared/wishing I didn’t exist/feeling worthless). It sucks.

I know from experience that stomach-related sicknesses suck. When I first started taking swimming lessons I was an idiot with zero stamina who could barely swim halfway across the pool without coming up for air, so needless to say, I ended up gulping a ton of water (especially since my teacher didn’t go easy on me; mom told her not to because I’m a sloth and I usually won’t do any exercise on my own besides simple stretches and some walking/running). I mean, the water in swimming pools is usually a bit disgusting, and it’s even worse where I take lessons because it’s a pretty old place and I don’t think it gets cleaned that often… so not only did accidentally swallowing it trigger my clean-freak senses, I also ended up with a terrible stomachache. I thought it was fine, that it would pass. But then I got a fever and every other thing I ate made me feel like someone was twisting my intestines from the inside, I couldn’t even lie down and rest for a sec because whenever I moved or tried to change positions it got even worse ;p; (also my mom never let it go, she kept jokingly 'reminding’ me that water from a swimming pool is not something you should drink after I started swimming again. I guess I kinda deserved it, though. I was an idiot))

That sounds so lovely <3 I’d really love to go visit Norway myself sometime, though I’ll probably have to wait a few years (my mom has back problems that make it painful for her to stay in one position for too long, so long plane/car rides are a huge no). Thanks, I’m glad I managed to explain my shipping reasons (like it’s so hard to properly talk about why I ship stuff sometimes XD)! I would give anything to have you join me in Stoki hell so let me just recommend basically the entire Remember This Cold series (it’s angsty as heck so proceed with caution…there are bits of humor and fluff in there, though, and then some extremely rare (almost) pure fluff fics. Like the one where Steve wants to propose but is a nervous bean because Loki’s a PRINCE and he wants to make it perfect). I’ll also try to find some more good fics later becase I can’t remember any titles right now ^^;;

YES ANOTHER T'CHALLA FAN I adore this guy (also I feel like he has a really cool voice. Not really sure why, it just sounds so nice). I really respect him for his attitude towards Steve and Bucky after he figures out Bucky’s not the real murderer, and how he later stops letting his anger towards his father’s killer consume him.

Fun HxH facts I want to let you know about:

Kite (AKA Ging’s student and Gon’s big brother figure) is dead and has been brainwashed into being a weapon/punching bag for his captors. When sunshine angel Gon meets the new Kite he lets Kite beat him up and then hugs him, promising to save him (THE FEEEEEEELSS)

Forgot to mention this about Chrollo, but when Kurapika killed one of his troupe (a guy named Uvogin), Chrollo acted all cool and never really talked about Uvo…

but then he had the rest of the troupe murder 2000 mafiosi guarding a building they were trying to get into, and while watching the chaos from afar, listening to their enemy’s screams, he started waving his hands as if conducting an orchestra…

It was so good <33 (Lizzy looks so graceful and pretty I can’t even) I actually found the whole movie on YT but just watched the parts I was really looking forward to seeing animated, like UT’s fight scene, Seb getting stabbed, the rest of the Midford family…(Francis’ hair shocked me. Idk how to feel about it. At first I thought it made her look like an old lady, but then, the more I look at it, the prettier it gets…like, it’s actually a really nice design, but I guess I got too used to manga!Francis lol)

Oh yeah, I get what you mean. Light’s reasoning/views on the justice system probably connects a lot to the culture and social issues of Japan at the time.

DN’s probably still one of the easier-to-adapt mangas out there, though, since the themes of justice and questioning the idea of 'greater good’ is something anyone can relate to (and they still botched it, I’m very salty about this and you can’t stop me ;-; even with how terrible Ryuk and Rem looked in them, the Japanese movies were WAY better, and it’s actually pretty rare that Japan makes a good live-action movie from a manga or anime. Apparently the TG movie that came out this year was pretty good too, though :D).

(I apparently somehow accidentally erased the part where I mentioned I actually read HCs/theories about Japanese-American Light on tumblr somewhere….that’s what got me thinking about it.

I agree though, seeing how different cultures would change Light’s character would be very interesting.)

I’m sorry, this is probably really creepy, but I ended up telling my mom about you because she asked who I was talking to (she knows I have internet friends and has seen me writing messages before). Since I’m only 13 she worries about the people I talk (she knows all my friends on ao3) so I told her some small things like your age, that you’re from Croatia, that you play the piano too and that you mentioned having a sister.

I’m really, really sorry if this makes you uncomfortable, mom just worries a lot and she likes to hear about my friends (like, she worries for my safety on the internet so she has to ask me some basic things about the people I talk with, and when she knows I have a good friend on the internet she sometimes wants to hear if my relationship with them is ok). I’d never tell her something really private but sometimes she wants to talk and I know she worries for me so I do tell her small, random details from our convos.

[Back when the two were investigating into a certain case at the Gatewater Hotel... Phoenix takes Pearl back to his office to rest after a long and stressful day.]

Pearl: Mr. Nick, do you think we gathered enough information?

Phoenix: Well, it’ll have to do... You doing okay, Pearls?

Pearl: I-I’m okay.

Phoenix: Alright, that’s good... You want something to drink or eat?

Pearl: Um, I could have a drink. I’m a bit thirsty.

Phoenix: Ah! That’s right! I said I was going to get you some juice, didn’t I? Argh. Sorry about that. It just slipped my mind.

Pearl: It’s okay, Mr. Nick. It slipped my mind too.

Phoenix: Well, uh... I think we still have some orange juice in there. I’ll take a look. Be right back!

[He heads into the kitchen and begins his search. Meanwhile, Pearl waits on the sofa and lets her eyes wander. She happens upon a cabinet by his desk and notices the door is ajar. As she goes over to close it, she notices there are bottles inside, all lined up proper. One of them seems to have a picture of a bunch of grapes. Curious, she takes it out for a closer look.]

Pearl: It only says “GRAPE” on the front. Is this grape juice?

[She calls out to Nick.]

Pearl: Mr. Nick, it’s okay! I found some grape juice! Can I try it?

[For some reason, he doesn’t respond. Since he may be really busy, she decides to examine it for herself. The bottle seems to have been opened before, so the cap easily comes off. She carefully tips the bottle into her mouth, making sure not to touch it...

Oops. That was a bit of a mouthful. She even swallowed a bit. She quickly sets the bottle down and seals it up again.

The taste is very strange. While it is a bit sweet like grape, there’s this odd bitterness that comes with it. Worried that it might be spoiling, she hurries off to the restroom to spit the rest out.

When she returns to the sofa, she begins to feel a little drowsy. Before she knows it, the world before her begins to warp and spin, and she flops onto the cushions, dipping into a deep sleep.]

[Meanwhile, Phoenix returns, sighing woefully. He found the orange juice easily and has poured her a cup as he said he would. But as he did, he couldn’t help but recall an argument he had with Maya about which juice was tastier, orange or apple. Neither side conceded, so it was a draw. But the memory made him stop in his tracks for a bit, and he didn’t pay attention when Pearl called to him earlier.

When he notices Pearl asleep on the sofa, he smiles, looking relieved. But then he notices the bottle left on the floor beside her, and that smile fades.]

Phoenix: (No... No, she didn’t...!)

[The bottle cap is sealed rather loosely, but he always keeps it tight. Panic strikes him. Setting the bottle aside, he gently shakes Pearl awake.]

Phoenix: Pearls... Pearls!

Pearl: *mumble*... Hm?

Phoenix: Sorry to wake you, but did you say something about grape juice?

Pearl: *rubbing eyes* Mmhm...

Phoenix: Um, by any chance...

[He raises the bottle before her.]

Phoenix: Did you mean this?

Pearl: ...Oh, yes, I tasted it.

Phoenix: Y-you what!!?

Pearl: But it didn’t taste good. I think it might be spoiling...

Phoenix: Uh... Don’t worry, Pearls, I think it’s fine. But you see, this isn’t really “grape juice”.

Pearl: But it says “grape” on it?

Phoenix: Yeah... that’s the brand name. It’s actually a kind of red wine.

Pearl: ...Oh.

[Soon enough, her eyes well up with tears.]

Pearl: I-I’m sorry, Mr. Nick. I didn’t mean to take your wine. I really thought it was grape juice...

Phoenix: I-it’s okay! Don’t cry!

Pearl: Oh... I’m still young, but I drank alcohol. Am... am I going to be punished?

Phoenix: Huh? No, no! I’m not mad! You should just be more careful...

Pearl: ...My mother once told me that if I ever drank alcohol, I would be punished by our ancestors.

Phoenix: ...Oh, Pearls.

Pearl: I... I’m a bad girl. I shouldn’t have taken that bottle... And I even let Mystic Maya be kidnapped! I... uuugh...

[She begins to sob.]

Phoenix: (Ack!) H-hey, Pearls! Please don’t cry! Everything’s going to be fine!

Pearl: B-but...

Phoenix: Don’t worry about your ancestors! I’m sure they know you did it by accident, so they won’t be mad at you.

Pearl: ...*sniff*...

Phoenix: And don’t worry about Maya either! I said it before, didn’t I? I’ll save her! I’ll win this case, and I’m sure that assassin will let her go. It’ll work out, trust me!

Pearl: ...

Phoenix: Trust me... I’ll do all I can to save her. And I should have looked out for you too. I’m sorry.

Pearl: ...Thank you, Mr. Nick. I trust you. I know you’ll save her.

Phoenix: Thanks, Pearls. And um... let’s just keep this incident with the alcohol a secret, okay? No one else needs to know.

Pearl: O-okay. I’m sorry I caused you more trouble...

Phoenix: No, no. I understand. You’re forgiven.

Pearl: ...I’m still sleepy.

Phoenix: You should get some sleep. It’s late anyway.

[She lies back down and he fetches her a blanket to tuck her in. And within a minute or two, she’s fast asleep.]

Phoenix: ...Huh? Oh, hey, Maya.
