Personality: Loyal and perceptive, Marie is a lot smarter than most give her credit for, even when she was younger. She’s a bit more emotional, but tries to balance it out with being logical. She is the absolute epitome of “the strongest explosions come in the smallest packages”, never failing and meeting everyone’s expectations. Though sometimes her biggest enemy isn’t raiders or walkers, but rather her own mind, plagued with self doubt at times and haunted by the memories of her past. But she’s still here and still fighting, pushing through the mental ordeals to beat the new world of the undead walking amongst the living.

Strengths: Shooting, mediating arguments, strategizing plans, being a group “therapist” of sorts, organizing

Weaknesses: Close range combat/melee, confronting her own insecurities, her own temper, doing things on a whim

Biggest Fear: Watching those she loves and cares for the most being killed or turning into a walker, especially in front of her.

Backstory: Marie has quite the checkered and complicated past, coming from a fractured home between her, her mother Michaela and her mother’s boyfriend Jamie, who is a convict. The relationship was toxic and abusive, turning the home life into hell. Marie quickly grew from happy, bubbly and timid to brave, capable and confident. When she turned 14, she started stepping in between Michaela and Jamie during the fights and abuse, confronting Jamie and even taking hits from him like it was nothing. Once she turned 18, she was off to college, starting a new chapter of her life and flourishing in this new environment. 4 years had passed and Marie had finally graduated, deciding it was time to pay her mother a visit, but when she arrived ... Everything was like hell on Earth, finding her mother and Jamie were both walkers and knew it wasn’t good. Marie had no idea what was going on, why any of this was happening, but now she knew she had to put a stop to it. She went into her mother and Jamie’s room, going into the closet where the gun safe was, the ammo right next to it. She grabbed the glock 45, loaded it up and put a bullet in each of their skulls, effectively putting them down. She grabbed a giant rucksack, filled it with what she needed and traveled on foot, leaving behind the life she once knew. Eventually she found a small and abandoned town off the main freeway, finding an abandoned shelter. She continued to stay there for months until she heard noise in the town, seeing two men who she later came to know as Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon.

as a little teaser for fwb part 2, I'm gonna drop what everyone is doing in this modern au!! I just ironed out all the details and think I'm pretty happy with it :)

Reader: Manager of a cafe called Brew & Bloom! It's a privately owned shop, and she's on track for continual promotions within the business :) Abby: Medical School dropout. Works at a private boxing studio in the city as a personal trainer, and also does the occasional fight on the side when she's feeling up to it. Ellie: Small indie musician, mainly playing gigs at local events and putting music up online. She has financial support from Joel (living at home for free, meals and utilities paid for), but works for Miller Construction wherever they need a hand for her main income source. Dina: Social Worker! She works for a non-profit that primarily focuses on LGBTQ+ children/teens. She has a couple of clients that she works with one-on-one, but also works with small groups. Jesse: Works on his mom and dad's ranch an hour and a bit outside of the city. Mainly works with the horses, but helps out where they need it. Mel & Nora: Both doing their residencies! They were both working towards becoming Surgeons, but Mel switched to Pediatrics. Owen: Went straight into a Mechanic Apprenticeship right out of high school, and is now a Marine Technician! Though he's been thinking more and more about pursuing his art... Manny: His day job is Security, working for the local stadium on game days and during concerts, but the real money comes from his freelance photography. Wedding season brings in enough cash that he probably doesn't even need his security gig anymore, but he likes the stability of it.

Explicitly??? Unless this person means the age gap romance between Amu and Ikuto (which I have openly and very vocally vouched against multiple times)

Yeah. Twisted Wonderland has characters designed by Yana Toboso, who is a Shotacon. but it is not a product BY Yana Toboso, she is part of a much bigger team. I can choose to engage in media critically and be aware not one person sullies an entire team's work

At this point in jpn, lolicon and shotacon are so normalized, that almost everyone there is ok with it. Does that mean I should.... stop engaging with the entire country and positive aspects of their culture? No. Because I am aware that I can like certain things of a culture while still being critical of others! Media consumption is never black and white, hope this helps.

i love writing modern aus and figuring out what everyone is doing with their lives now that canon doesn't exist currently trying to figure out everyones jobs/courses for the fwb part 2 fic now that i have to expand on it and im having the time of my life not everything will come up in part 2 but i think i'll probably end up using these headcanons for future modern!au fics for tlou!!
