hey! how is Dave feeling? I hope all of you are staying well with this virus going around! Take care!

He is still not quite normal. The medications the vet prescribed helped for a little while, but he’s going back to acting agitated. The poor little guy has spent most of the past couple days meowing sadly, pacing, and being mad at Kepler (who is very confused and just wants to lick Dave’s face).

I’ve called a vet clinic to see if I can book an appointment. I’m not sure if many will be taking new clients right now, but I don’t think it’s kind to Dave to leave him like this long term. I don’t think whatever he has is life threatening, but it’s clearly not comfortable.

Thankfully the rest of the household is not sick and we are in isolation with enough groceries and cat food to last us the next two weeks. Ideally we won’t be going outside much for the next little while!

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like being able to enjoy every single day without caring about tomorrow (generally speaking) but recently, I���ve learned a few things about my family and it got me thinking ... maybe it’d be useful to know.Then again, I like the unknown and the idea of knowing about my future feels a lot like cheating (also, I have watched too many TV show where they explain no one should learn about the future, that once you know, you have like 99% chances to blow it up ...)combat boots: are you a very forgiving person? do you like being this way?I ... used to be. I got through some ugly betrayals and nasty break-up, from romantic relationships to friendships and now, I’m way less forgiving now. I mean, I believe in second chances and I do give some, but not always. There are betrayals and blows that cannot be forgiven and trying to force forgiveness is a mistake. As Alex Danvers said, forgiveness is something you have to do for yourself, and not for anyone else. As such, you don’t have to forgive everyone and everything. Summary: Relentless teasing leads to a morning Kamilah and Elena will never forget. 

BLOODBOUND FAN FICTION OPEN EYES

Elena sleeps soundly beside the love of her life, experiencing a rare peaceful slumber that only shows up when the nightmares of the supernatural world come back to haunt her. This is a moment of bliss and harmony, a feeling that almost never arrives. Only when it means to. However, Kamilah is limited to essentials when it comes to her kind. Sleep is an option instead of a requirement and she’s chosen to spend the sleeping hours admiring her little firefly with intrigue and interest, cherishing the sight of Elena with no worries hovering over her mind. Just an empty dream that will cause no harm to her.

Guess you could say that’s Kamilah’s worst nightmare. Just the thought of anything bad happening to Elena makes her skin crawl. She props herself closer to the sleeping girl and Kamilah’s dark eyes light up with curiosity, as an idea pops into her head. They’d already been a little worn out from their heavily enforced night of passion, which of course made it easier for Elena to fall asleep. Exhaustion comes easy for her but Kamilah... she could last for centuries. Maybe even forever. 

As a lightbulb ignites in Kamilah’s head, a sly smirk crosses her lips and she stares at Elena for another second, her gaze skimming over the covers that mask Elena’s bare body and how her closed eyes shift now and then to reveal how she’s dreaming. If you looked long enough, you’d notice the hint of a smile playing at the corner of her lips.

Kamilah plays out her plan in her mind a few times and her wry smile only widens and her eagerness only grows. With that, she shifts further towards Elena, pivoting herself so she’s on top of her under the covers. Their skin barely brushes and Elena’s body flinches momentarily but is soothed back to sleep after a few seconds. Exhaling softly, Kamilah continues acting out her idea. 

She positions herself so she’s looming over Elena, her hot breath hovering over her jaw as heavy sighs escape her. Soon after, she attaches her lips onto Elena’s face and starts planting slow, soothing kisses from her jaw to the base of her neck, leaving a featherlight trail within her wake. The kisses grow more firm as she places more down but no matter the dynamic, it still has the same effect and Kamilah can practically feel the shivers radiating off of Elena’s body as she begins to awaken. But it’s a little too early for that to happen quite yet.

Kamilah continues her lip lock over Elena’s collarbone and she fixes her gaze on her lover’s stunning features as she begins sucking on the skin, careful about her supernatural instincts and making sure she keeps them hidden. A light breathy moan escapes Elena and that satisfies Kamilah enough to release her lips and leave a hickey in place. As she pulls away, she strokes the skin she affected and makes sure no blood was drawn. Luckily there were no fatalities.

Next, Kamilah lets her lips target the skin restricted by the covers. She starts tugging the silk sheets down and focusing her attention on Elena’s chest. She’s more careful about Elena in the morning because that is when she’s at her most delicate. Not even when she’s in danger or something more extreme. Nope, the mornings. When she’s exhausted. But Kamilah plans to defy her rules this morning.

As she teases Elena by leaving a trail of kisses in the space between her breasts and she can feel Elena shudder in response, yet her hands have not opened at this point. Kamilah realises her methods need to be more effective. She sneaks a hand over Elena’s thighs and spreads them out slightly, grazing her inner thigh with her fingertips for a moment, taunting and teasing, which is something Kamilah clearly loves to do. Elena’s body tingles with pleasure as Kamilah starts brushing her wet lips over her skin and planting slow kisses as she ventures. The best feeling to Kamilah is the satisfaction of gaining approval from the one you love through the affection you provide them with. She adores the reactions and exploring the most effective movements. 

She moves her fingers closer to Elena’s sex and she can sense how wet she is without even using physical contact. With that, Kamilah forms a smirk and starts brushing her fingers over Elena’s folds, causing her to grip the sheets with her fists and bite her lip, yet her eyes still refused to open. Kamilah continues to explore the surroundings, never quite making contact with Elena’s clit, which is all part of the teasing game really. 

Kamilah’s eyes darken so suddenly, flashing a deep crimson red as she makes direct eye contact with Elena and she shivers at the astonishing sight. A sight of true hunger and real desire. Kamilah is one who won’t be denied and Elena has no reason to deny the vampire queen. With permission in tact, Kamilah slips her finger inside Elena and that’s when her eyes shoot open in shock at the unexpected move. Her line gaze rises in all its glory and she soon melts into an assured state of pleasure. Kamilah twists and moves her fingers as much as possible, eager to know what kind of reactions she can stifle out of Elena. To increase her power, she wraps her mouth around Elena’s nipple and starts sucking as roughly as she can. She wants Elena to shudder and writhe beneath her, with no words left to say and no ability to think or move. Kamilah then adds another finger to the mix, chasing a loud moan from Elena and sweat creases her forehead as pleasure overtakes her body. She has no room for protest or denial. This is what she wants every morning from now on.

“Damn... Kamilah.” Elena mutters, as Kamilah keeps her movement at a steady rhythm, not prepared to make the amount of pleasure falter in any way. She wants this to be the best way Elena will ever be woken up. She wants no one else on her level. “Ah...”

Kamilah shifts the speed of her movements even more until the pace is so much faster than before that Elena’s reactions can barely keep up and soon, she’s completely lost for words... only her release can express her emotions for her.

Later, they lie back where they were last night, entwined in each other’s arms, enjoying each other’s company after a strong session of love. 

Elena snuggles up to Kamilah as the vampire queen lovingly strokes her golden blond hair and rests her jaw on top of her head. Their watery gazes meet for a moment and Elena forms a small smile.

“Well that’s a fucking way to wake up.” Elena mutters, suddenly sleepy once more. “Especially to you.”

Kamilah bites her lip slightly nervously and lets out a light laugh. “Thought you didn’t like being woken up.” She reminds Elena, almost wishing she hasn’t for a second but then the soft chuckle is chased out and a light exhale.

“Heh. Well there’s always an exception when it comes to you.”

Okay, Tumblr. I finally caught up on Ride or Die and I’m going all in. I’ve gathered a few of my favorite stories below the cut. Ships are alphabetical, scroll for your favorites. 

Colt x Logan

Come Around — How exactly did Colt convince Logan to go along with the casino job? This sizzling piece by @e-stelamontoya explains. It’s actually criminal how few notes this has, go read it! Not So Different After All — The story that started this ship for me! @walkerismychoice wrote a story so good I played ROD just for context. She takes Logan and Colt’s in book tension and makes it sizzle.

Shifting Gears — This is a deliciously smutty and sweet series by @choiceslife I love that Colt is more experienced and assertive than Logan in this one, and it has all the angst and yearning my little heart desires. (18+)

Prompt: “I’m tired and my bed feels so empty without you here.” - “Please come home, this doesn’t feel right.” — Logan and Colt have their first fight in this non-cannon drabble by @paytonsaunders. Sweet and satisfying. 

Colt x MC

Dancing with Danger — This piece by @walkerduchess explores another way Prom night might have unfolded.  Released before the canon scene, it builds tension beautifully, and culminates in a brutal cliff hanger (don’t worry, there’s a Part 2 already published).

Girl Like Me — I love the way @hufflepvnk writes Colt. She captures his voice flawlessly, and has created a short piece full of tension and passion. Highly recommend.  No Escape — This evocative version of the Prom Scene by @client-327 has no dialogue and yet is brimming with emotion and nuance. It was written before they released the canon scene, and I have to admit I like it better. (18+) Spousal Privilege — If you haven’t been reading @omgjasminesimone‘s ROD stories, you’ve been missing out. This piece is a set a few months after the end of Book One. Colt is in jail, but Ellie may have found a way to get him out. Strangers Again — @flowerpowell explores what might have happened if Colt hadn’t shown up to take MC to prom. A perfect demonstration of how to break a reader’s heart in under 700 words.  Take A Chance on Me — This completed series by @pixelburied was one of the first ROD stories I read, and remains one of my favorites. Tala (the MC) is perfectly written, and it’s impossible not to get caught up in her bet with Colt, and the growing tension between them. Until Next Time — I really struggled to pick just one of @lovehugsandcandy‘s Colt stories. In fact, because she writes exclusively for ROD, I’m going to link her Masterlist. But Until Next Time is just ... stunning. It’s has both one of the most beautifully intimate narratives I’ve seen in Fan Fiction and one of the most passionate love scenes. Absolutely amazing. (18+)

Logan x MC

The Archduke, The Virgin, and the Speed Racer — @lovehugsandcandy‘s only Logan story to date, which is positively criminal. Here, MC’s first time with Logan happens the night of their study session. It’s at turns funny and sweet, with a lingering sense of sadness and regret, given that Logan knows he’s been lying to the girl he loves.

Carburetor Leak — Set after the fight at the drive-in, this beautifully written piece by @hellospunkiebrewster��shows us the comfort and unease Logan might feel when someone takes care of him for the first time. It’s heady and angsty and deeply satisfying. I’ve re-read it too many times. In fact, I just re-read it again.

Felicia — This piece by @brightpinkpeppercorn has a glorious plot device I refuse to spoil, but that had me laughing so hard I almost choked on my coffee. But she does much more than humor here — including a bittersweet scene that finally gave me some of the closure I wanted after MC and Logan’s confrontation. 

The Bet — In Chapter Three, if you wager a kiss on the game of pool and lose, Logan takes you outside and kisses you away from the prying eyes of the crew — and the reader. This is what I think happens. (18+)

In the End — This beautiful, ruthless piece by @thefirstcourtesan​ ripped my heart out of my chest. If you love expertly written angst, this is the work for you. Thankfully, the author also wrote a brilliant piece of Logan fluff called Special to mend our broken hearts.  Kiss Prompt — @walkerismychoice’s Logan x MC drabbles are literally the only reason I survive between chapters each week, and I think I love this one best of all. I want this happy future for our poor boy so badly, and this deliciously sexy fluff is exactly what my heart needed between brutal chapters. 

No Matter What — I usually read fan fiction for romantic pairings, but @likethetailofacomet writes a friendship between Logan and MC that is complex and compelling and irresistible. Set after Amber’s fight with her father, this story covers prompts: “You’re getting crumbs all over my bed,” “Here, take my blanket,” and “Hey, hey calm down. They can’t hurt you anymore,” and gives incredible depth to Logan’s character. Also, don’t miss the beautiful anguish that is Scattershield. Sanctuary — @client-327​ has written quite possibly my favorite Ride or Die series to date. It has both incredible tension and tenderness, and you won’t be able to stop reading. I’ve read each part nearly a dozen times already (18+). 

Mona x MC

Kiss Prompt — This drabble by @walkerismychoice is set just before the Casino Job, when emotions (and chemistry) are running high. Short, spicy, and incredibly in character, it left me wanting much more.

Star Crossed — This piece by @parkershawss is silly sweet perfection. An English paper has Ellie convinced she and Mona are Romeo and Juliette, but Mona has other ideas. And Logan’s cameo at the end? I couldn’t stop laughing!

Superstition — An Arabic tattoo on Mona’s wrist is a reminder of the woman who shaped her, and the life she used to know. By yours truly.

Thats the Entire Problem — This is one of my favorite chapters in the Want to Get Out of Here Series by @pcktsprgrl. The crew has noticed the connection between Mona and Ellie — and that Ellie is wearing her jacket — and Logan and Ximena have very different advice. The last lines are especially compelling.

Unwind — This piece by @choices-betch starts as a tender glimpse into the ending Mona and Ellie should have had, and ends with a scorchingly hot scene between the couple. Mona is flawlessly written, and you can feel her struggle to adjust to a new life just as keenly as you can feel her love for Ellie.

Kendra breathed in the not so crisp October air and heaved a sigh as a slight breeze rustled her hair. She laughed lightly to herself. Everything still seemed like such a dream. She had been working for the Dallas Cowboys and was in her third year. Becca was in her final year at law school and together they had purchased a modest home.

Small by most NFL superstar standards but she didn't care. The home sat nestled between a small forest with plenty of land and she knew she'd be happy anywhere with Becca.

She sighed again as she finished raking the leaves into a small pile at the trees edge.

"Hey hon.. Leaves are done." she called after Becca and didn't get a response. "Becca?" she tried again while making her way to the fridge and grabbing a beer.

"Oh there you are." she smiled as she took a gulp of beer.

"You only care about football, beer, and raking the leaves!" Becca snapped.

"Uh what?" Kendra sat her beer on the counter and walked around to face Becca.

"You heard me! Its your day off and instead of spending it with me, you're out there." Becca points out the window for extra emphasis.

"Well" Kendra starts before taking another sip of beer causing Becca to growl. "I seem to recall a certain conversation where a hot blond asked me to rake the yard, football is work,  and as for the beer well.." Kendra drinks more of her bottle. "Ahhh refreshing. ." she overemphasizes and smirks at Becca.

Becca snorts and grabs the bottle taking a sip. "Hey I was drinking that!" Kendra exclaims.

"Hmm Not anymore." Becca smirks and finishes it.

"Come here you." Kendra snarls and grabs Becca by the waist.  Becca squeaks but schools her features and kisses Kendra long and slow.

"Hmm.. So tell me more about this hot blond." Becca teases. "Well she's super sweet with extra sass, really smart. You know smart chicks are extra hot." Kendra smiles thoughtfully.

"Should I be jealous?" Becca asks as she kisses Kendra's jaw.

Kendra hums as Becca's lips move lower over her neck. "Well everyone is but I think its because she's dating the best defensive lineman in all of football." Becca laughs against Kendra's neck.
