You could work double shifts, 7 days a week, for penny wages and zero benefits, and a corporation will still replace you with a chatbot, robotic arm, or imported labor.
Ultimately, these companies don't want employees at all. You're a cost to be eliminated for the sake of maximizing profits, and they will find every way possible to get rid of you.
You can keep suppressing your own wage, sacrifice your own benefits, and blame immigrants under the misguided belief that if you grovel hard enough they'll be nice to you, or You can start to understand that their goal is to get rid of any human body below the C-Suite and shareholders.
#these companies will cut their nose off to make the share price go up 0.5% for a day#nothing else matters - share price go up is the only thing they care about#they don't give a shit about their product - who is buying it- who is building it - where it's built#modern corporations own barely anything if you haven't noticed#like most major corporations used to own their supply chain as a division of their company#but those were spun off as third parties#so were most internal functions from janitorial services to payroll processing#and look at how many don't even own the property they operate out of - it's all long term leasing#leases that coincidentally last the same amount of time as their local tax breaks#it's a matryoshka doll of scummy behavior meant to make shareholders happy at the expense of everything else#and no communism is not the solution so fuck off that's what you get from this

How powerful is Vocx compared to Vox? Is either more powerful than the other? How differently is the Voxtech run and what's their reputation like in Hell?
Vocx is more powerful by far. I picture vox as one of those people who smiles on the surface but attempting to teach him anything makes him resent the fuck out of you. Vocx doesn’t have that problem. He’s got pride but he’s got no problem putting away to learn from his betters. So he both has more tricks just from the other overlords and more social connections and powerful friends. Letting other people teach you things is a sure fire way to make friends. People, no matter how awful, all like feeling smart and helping.
Plus I’m kinda yanking the Yrz method of contracting and having Vocx be one of the fairest overlords to work for (except without yrzs moral objections to literally owning people lol. When in rome etc). He treats it like an actual job, with performance reviews and everything. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so being one of Vocxs people is considered pretty desirable. The grunts in the company don’t get contracts but above a certain level, being promoted means being contracted to Vocx.

Sometimes I SWEAR my job is not real. We usually get fed lunch by the company once a week, there are snacks and ramen noodles available always, free coffee and hot chocolate, a stress relief snack cart that comes around on our busiest day of the week, and today one of our managers came around with "The beer cart" and we all got to pick an alcoholic beverage. Wild! The. My managers played the Chicken Dance through our work speaker, and they started dancing through the office. but THAT WASN'T ALL because they did the Hokey Pokey next and my manager made me dance with her dkdnsksh

look if you have a browser version and it doesn't work at all on mobile browser even when I set it to "desktop version" and I send you a help request letting you know that your mobile browser version lacks some basic functionality and you ask me if I've tried the app
i have but i don't want to download an app if i'm doing this mobile once or twice a year at MOST so can you please. fix the mobile browser functionality. please.

Former best-boss-ever (that my current company sacked with zero warning) reached out to me with the timeliest job opportunity ever. So that’s what I gotta work on today.
Just worried that I’d be trading one kind of unending stress for another, on top of a long commute along the worst stretches of highway in the metro area. Part of it will depend on the pay, but it also genuinely seems interesting and a chance to gain some skills to take me in the direction I’m ultimately wanting to go, career-wise.
