This week we welcome the curators Aina Pomar Cloquell and Núria Gomez Gabriel, both winners of the Inéditos call held annually by the Casa Encendida, and who inaugurate their exhibitions on May 26.

The first project, LAS MALAS, curated by Núria Gómez Gabriel (Sant Pere de Ribes, Barcelona, ​​1987), is an exhibition around the idea of ​​evil as a way of thinking and as a place where the compositional genesis of material structures emerges, communities, behaviors, scenes, taboos, prohibitions, fears and desires that are found at the heart of all ideology, all consensual social reality and its ethical and moral codes. Based on this approach, the exhibition is conceived as a stage for speculative criticism, material on the psychological tropes of contemporary horror through a confluence of transdisciplinary artistic practices that displace stereotyped images of otherness and its field of material interactions. “Seeking society even before the reference “man”. A territory, a body, a drift through flows of energy. Paulo Arraiano's visual work has been focusing on the immaterial territory and its connection with the physical territory – emotional cartographies where the body acts as an extension of nature through a medium based on the motion and fluidity of the connection to the root, trying to bring to the city the energy it tends to forget. In the video Emotional Landscapes, the visual artist's work extends onto the body of performer Diana Coelho, where the detachment for the original work sets off the emotional wandering in a new dialoguing body. The shared journey points to a convergence between urban cartography and the meridians of the human body, in an alignment of premisses for a work of “urban acupuncture”. Paulo Arraiano Born 1977 in Cascais, Portugal The work of multimedia artist Paulo Arraiano draws an eclectic and interdisciplinary range of influences and references.
