so when building the Racer family home in TS2, I keep coming back to the fact that I have no idea where the bedrooms (besides Speed's) are supposed to go, and this has been an issue! so I uhh. did something.
I broke down and requested a cameo vid from Paulie Litt (who played Spritle in Speed Racer), asking him if he knew where the bedrooms were supposed to be. xD
but ofc I figured there's a chance he wouldn't! I mean, I knew the set probably didn't connect in a way that showed where Spritle's room was, and even if it did, he was...thirteen? I think? when that movie was filmed? so there's no guarantee he'd even remember.
but still! I figured I'd try, so here's the message I sent with the request:
I'm making a model of the Racer house, and I can't figure out where the bedrooms are. Do you happen to remember how the house set layout worked? If not, alt question: was Spritle flipping off Royalton improv'd by you? (bc it's not in the script.) ty!
(it's really hard to write things and stick within the 250 character limit)
and today, the request was fulfilled! so here's this!
(tl;dw - he didn't know anything else about the layout of the house because the set didn't go that far, but he did tell the story about how the Wachowskis directed him to flip off Royalton!)
so even though I didn't gain any new knowledge about the Racer house, I did learn something else! and it's great that it was the Wachowskis who (last-minute) told him to flip off Royalton xD
#personal#paulie litt#speed racer#speed racer (2008)#the wachowskis#now if only emile hirsch had a cameo so I could ask him if ''get that weak shit off my track'' was improv or not :P#like on the one hand the wachowskis are very artistic and controlled about their movies#on the other hand I feel like if Emile just said that and they liked it they'd leave it in#anyway I need like. concept art or something for that house. I want to know where the rooms are!#not that the layout makes sense as it is in the movie#the exterior shots of the house from the road are mirrored from what the house layout actually is#which is fine!#but it's all fascinating to me#what a cool house#what a great movie!

NSFW Alphabet - J
A/N: Hello everyone! Long time no see 🙈 Here's a new part of the NSFW Alphabet! For some reason the inspiration hit me out of the blue and this is the result. Hope you enjoy! 🥰
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Angelo
Tommy tends to prefer alone-time when he's angry. Although it's not unusual for him to end up in situations which makes him angry, he doesn't like to act upon that feeling. He's all too familiar with what happens if you let your anger take control and he prefers to stay as far away from it as he possibly can. That being said a way to deal with it is through self-satisfaction - a lot of it - and by setting the mood with music, alcohol and tobacco to calm the nerves. After pouring himself a whiskey he puts on some of his favourite tunes on the gramophone. Taking two sips of whiskey before putting the cigar in his mouth, he slowly feel himself sinking back into his armchair. With a deep exhale through the nose he closes his eyes, trying to embrace the sensual jazz tunes playing in the background. As his mind gradually becomes calmer he senses the familiar feeling of his groin pressing against his pants, desperately wanting out. With the cigar in his mouth he breathes in while undoing his pants, pulling his aching shaft out. He instantly wraps his hand around it and starts moving it up and down, his head dropping back against the headrest while exhaling the tobacco smoke followed by a deep groan. The events which got him so angry in the first place are still lingering which replaces the initial slow but steady pace with a more rough, fast one. Although he's not usually the vocal type the groans keep coming and become more and more hoarse as he keeps pleasuring himself. His free hand grabs onto the armrest tightly as he bites down on his bottom lip slightly. He watches his own hand with an intense gaze for a moment, his eyebrows furrowed deeply. His abs give off a small twitch as the pleasure intensifies. A few more pumps and a small wave of the orgasm washes over him causing his head to once again fall back against the headrest, a deep moan slipping past his parted lips. Seconds later the full-on orgasm hits him making him grit his teeth and tighten his grip around his shaft as he rides out his anger-fueled orgasm, not stopping until his muscles are numb and he's completely out of breath.
Lombardo
The hormones in this man is no joke. It would be a litte bit exagerated to say that anything turns him on, but it's really not far off. Being a major philogyny it wouldn't take much for Paulie to get the arousing thoughts and desires going. Arriving home after a wild night out filled with dancing, flirting and drinking is more than enough to set the mood. As his back hits the mattress with a thud he lets out a content sigh, his hands already reaching down to undo the button of his pants as well as pull the zipper down. His boxers instantly follows as he swiftly get rid of his pants, his button up shirt and tie still on but looking messy. With his eyes closed and his head resting against his soft pillow, his hand grabs his shaft firmly before rhythmically starting to move up and down with short but steady strokes. A moan filled with anticipation slips past his lips before his breathing syncs with the pace he keeps on his shaft. The events of the night keeps replaying in his head almost making him a little bit dizzy. The strokes start to pick up the pace, all while making sure to stop at the tip for a moment to squeeze just a tiny bit more before going back to the rhythmic pace he kept before. As the dizziness start to come back his other hand reaches down to his balls, gently starting to massage them, a throaty and deep moan emersing from his lips. His eyes slightly roll back for a moment as the orgasm starts to build up. Knowing how much he loves it when a woman pulls on his hair during sex he stops massaging and brings his hand up to grip onto the base of his hair, sending chills down his spine. The sensation of the hair-pulling and pumping of his shaft combined quickly drives him over the edge, the orgasm completely taking over his senses. Along with an intense orgasm comes multiple moans and groans that last until he collapses completely, ever muscle in his body weak but his mind incredibly satisfied.
Trapani
Stress is a major trigger for Sam when it comes to masturbation. Considering his high position within the family it's safe to say that he's not exactly a stranger to the feeling of being overwhelmed. It usually happens in the shower where he's completely disconnected from the world around him. As the steamy water trickles down his skin he lifts one arm up and presses the palm of his hand against the shower wall, his head lowering forward slowly until his eyes are looking directly at his feet. The brisk jets of water almost feel like a massage against his tense shoulders och back causing a heavy sigh of relief to leave his now slightly parted lips. The other hand moves to his groin, gripping onto his shaft before slowly starting to move up and down, forwards and backwards. His head instantly falls back instead and in that same moment his eyes closes shut. His hand starts moving faster and his breath quickly becomes heavier with every stroke - a faint moan followed by a low groan echoing between the walls. The hand that is pressing against the wall soon becomes a fist on which Sam finds himself leaning his forehead against for support. As his legs start to tremble and that oh so familiar feeling starts spreading through his body he lets out another groan while at the same time the pumping motion becomes all the more vigorous. His breath picks up the pace and his knees bend slightly in an attempt to stabilize himself as the orgasm continues to build up. For a moment his breath becomes uneven and only seconds later he gives in to the feeling of euphoria, slamming his fist against the wall and squeezing his eyes shut as he cums. A long, breathy groan escapes his lips before the feeling of calmness and satisfaction finally takes over both mind and body.

"Speed Racer" --A Review
This is one of those movies that you sort of hear about from time to time in passing. The word "cult classic" get used a lot when people talk about it, but despite that word of mouth, it's also a movie that I had been thoroughly uninterested in watching for years now.
But, one family movie night as we were scrolling through HBO Max (or, as it's about to be rebranded for reasons passing understanding: MAX), it popped up and not wanting to watch another cartoon that the kids had all seen before, we decided to give it a go and you know what? It was actually pretty good-- certainly worthy of the "cult classic" rep it has picked up over the years.
Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is a young man who was born into a racing family (Independent Racer Motors) and is absolutely obsessed with the automobile racing. His parents Mom (Susan Sarandon) and Pops (John Goodman) run the company and his younger brother Spritle (Paulie Litt), his pet chimp Chim Chim, mechanic Sparky (Kick Gurry) and girlfriend Trixie (Christina Ricci) are all involved.
Speed is eating up the world of racing, but he's also haunted by the (presumed) death of his older brother, Rex, who was branded a cheater and died in a fiery crash. Speed starts to get offers from the big racing conglomerates and gets an extensive pitch from EP Royalton of Royalton Motors (Roger Allam) and is also approached to work with Musha Motors who are trying to prevent their company from being brought out.
Still believing in his family's company and the purity of the sport, Speed opts to stick with the family business- but Royalton reveals how foolish that decision is by telling speed how corrupt the Worldwide Racing League actually is and how winners are predetermined which shatters Speed's illusions about racing, but eventually the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox) and Inspector Detector (Benno Furmann) who have been working together to expose the corruption in the WRL bring him back in and convince him to race in the Casa Cristo 5000 (the dangerous race where brother Rex lost his life) and to expose the corruption in the WRL once and for all.
(Spoiler Alert: unsurprisingly, the good guys triumph here- the details are more interesting and spoiler-y so that's all I'll say.)
Look, I don't know much about movie-making. I'm not a film buff or a film student or anything like that- but the contrast between this movie and the Wachowski's earlier work on the Matrix is really incredible. Speed Racer is an assault of color and although I'm not into psychotropic drugs, I think it's a fairly safe bet that some shrooms or acid plus this movie would make for a fucking wild-ass trip. The colors are so bright and vivid in this movie, it's brinks on being too much.
I have seen the odd Speed Racer cartoon here and there over the years, but I'm not deep into the manga or the anime- of which there is plenty out there, but I would say going on what I know, this movie captures the essence of the old cartoons perfectly- I wish I knew enough about anime to say for sure, but it feels like it also gets that anime aesthetic down pat as well-- in that sense, it's a distant cousin of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, which also gets the roots of it's source material very very right when translated to the big screen.
Overall: If you're going to make a video game adaptation of any racing video game, watch this movie first-- it'll help. The race courses are bananas, the racing is insane, but it's also filmed in such a way that it feels tense, taut and very well despite the vivid colors and gravity defying cars and courses they're racing on. The cast is surprisingly excellent across the board and this manages to be an entertaining movie that stays true to it's roots and doesn't tip over into camp or cringe. It more than earns it's 'cult classic' hype and if you want to break out of your family movie night rut or are just looking for something to watch, you can't go wrong with Speed Racer. My Grade: *** out of ****

I watched last night the Speed Racer 2008 movie, and I had honestly forgot how much I loved that movie. The chemistry in the family is great, the plot although a little bit simple is well executed, and the looks of the characters were really accurate.
But I think my favorite thing is that they knew they were doing a movie based on an anime and they went wild with it. Regular race tracks? No. Let's do the most wild and crazy race track ever. Normal backgrounds? No. Let's do everything shiny. Boring transition from scene to scene? Nop. Let's animate everything over everything while changing scenes. And it works!! The movie visuals are amazing!!

'Speed Racer" Runs Out of Gas Long Before It Ends
‘Speed Racer” Runs Out of Gas Long Before It Ends
I’m not sure if I ever watched the original “Speed Racer” cartoon, but I feel like I have. Maybe it’s because that darn theme song can be so hard to get out of your head. Speed is one of those characters who has permanently engrained himself into pop culture for all time. Back in 2008, the Wachowskis brought this popular cartoon which is credited for bringing the world of anime into full focus…

Speed Racer (2008)
I can understand why Speed Racer wasn't well-received in 2008. Having heard only negative things, I sat down with it fully expecting a catastrophe. It isn't. I’m not going to go so far as call it visionary, but it's certainly bold in its structure, visuals and direction. Like many of the Wachowski’s films, it has a lot to offer and if you go in with an open mind, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. You may even love it.
Based on the television series of the same name, itself based on the manga by Tatsuo Yoshida, 18-year-old Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) has been obsessed with racing his entire life. After his brother dies during the Casa Cristo 5000, Speed embarks on his own racing career when he is approached by E.P. Arnold Royalton (Roger Allam), owner of conglomerate Royalton Industries. Speed declines the corporation’s luxurious offers and now, the family must band together to win the Grand Prix, or lose everything to the corporate giant.
If there had been even a drop of cynicism in the 135-minute running-time, Speed Racer would've crashed and burned. Like its protagonist, the film is determined to see itself through. This picture is wild even before we get to the unusual editing, story and structure. Speed’s parents (Susan Sarandon and John Goodman) run an independent company called Racer Motors along with their youngest son, Spritle (Paulie Litt) and his pet chimpanzee Chim Chim. You’d expect the kid sidekick and his monkey to be cheap comic relief, but they’re integral parts of the story. They're never annoying because their presence never hinders Speed. Also living in their home is their mechanic Sparky. No one is ever taken aback by this or the various costumed racers participating in the multiple races seen throughout. It makes for a bizarre kind of world with its own logic you just get into. After the initial shock settles, you're surprised that the seemingly simple relationships and characters expands as the film goes. The whole thing is a cartoon, but what a cartoon it is.
Once Speed gets into his Formula One car and puts the pedal to the metal, it’s like he’s driving down that corridor of light at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s a dazzling, dizzying burst of twists, turns and sweeps so incredible they’re nearly overwheleming. It moves so fast you wish you could slow it down and catch everything, but the fact that you can’t is what makes it fantastic. The Wachowskis have thrown the rulebook on how to make a racing movie out of the window and by leaving the beaten path, they’ve reinvented moving vehicles on-screen with Speed Racer.
For the three impossible, big, flashy courses featured, the picture is worth seeing but there’s much more for you here. It’s unconventional, at times a little bit too wild, but when placed in this world that looks like a cross between a Terry Gilliam project and Lazytown, you accept it. The film is packed to the brim with moments that further develop the relationship between Speed and his family but never at the expense of the white-knuckle racing. A perfect example is in the very first competition. Speed gets so far ahead of his competitors he come face-to-face with his brother’s ghost. Not a spirit; a digital hologram of the best driver who’s ever been on that track. In the moments that follow, we learn how good Speed is at driving by comparing him to the record holder. We see how long the record has held so we understand just how big a deal it is. We get a display unlike any we’ve seen before and come to understand how much Speed respects, misses, admires and loves his brother all at once.
Speed Racer displays such imagination in its structure and racing sequences. While the film is sometimes difficult to follow because of its no-holds-barred approach, I think it may be one of the best racing film’s I’ve ever seen. (On DVD, April 7, 2018)

January 24, 2021: Speed Racer (Epilogue)
When it came out, Speed Racer wasn’t exactly criticially acclaimed. The Rotten Tomatoes summary for the critical response is as such:
Overloaded with headache-inducing special effects, Speed Racer finds the Wachowskis focused on visual thrills at the expense of a coherent storyline.
And, I mean:
Part of that criticism is understandable, let’s be honest. But how about the rest of it? Well...
Recap
Cast and Acting
I’ll be honest, Emile Hirsch is only OK as Speed Racer. I mean, he certainly isn’t bad, but I also can’t call him an acting dynamo in this one. This probably has to do with the writing and the direction, but he was still just fine; not much more than that. Christina Ricci, John Goodman, Susan Sarandon and Matthew Fox, on the other hand, all definitely take this very seriously, and pour some serious acting chops into their roles. Even Goodman, who as one point has to seriously say the word “non-ja” - yes, really - really gives it some fatherly energy that the role demands. Color me impressed! Roger Allam, too, deserves praise for REALLY pouring on that corporate supervillain energy, like he came right out of comic books. Like I said in the recap, he really channels Tim Curry-caliber acting here, and as over-the-top as that is, it’s fun to watch! Every other actor basically plays their roles as if they’re in a live-action cartoon. Which, to be fair, they are. So, for all of that, we’re going with a 7/10. Oh, and Paulie Litt as Spritle? That kid is goddamn annoying...which is the point. So, yeah, pretty great job to him, I guess.
Plot and Writing
Plot’s about as typical as you can get for this kind of movie. Honestly, if you were to ask me to draft a Speed Racer film script, it’d probably exactly this movie. And...yeah, that’s entirely fine, I don’t really see any issues with it. Writing is silly at times, and rarely ever profound, but again: you kind of get what you pay for. For what they were given to work with, the Wachowskis (yes, they also wrote this bad boy) did fine. 6/10?
Directing and Action
...8/10. I-I can’t believe it, either. Yeah, um, the racing scenes, the shots, all of it? It’s stellar. This might be a living cartoon, but GODDAMN do they lean into that well. Nothing else to say here, the Wachowskis were clearly the right choice here. My only complaint is that I wish this movie was ENTIRELY in CGI, to be honest. I think the movie actually suffers from being in live-action at all. THat’s why this score isn’t perfect.
Production and Art Design
This one, however, is an unabashed 10/10. Because from the cars to the raceways, and even to the CGI stuff, this film looks AMAZING. IF, that is, you know how to look at it. Gotta say, after getting used to the technicolor bombast of this movie, those visuals got much less distracting, and I was able to actually focus on them.
Music and Editing
This is a soundtrack I would buy. My biggest complaint with some of these adapted cartoon properties is the lack of iconic music you can find in them (LOOKIN’ AT YOU, BAYFORMERS), and the score absolutely uses the original song to its advantage, while also updating it to a satisfying instrumental. Nice one...MICHAEL GIACCHINO??? The Avengers and The Incredibles composer? THAT MICHAEL GIACCHINO??? No wonder I love the music here!
How about editing? Well...editing leaves something to be desired, sorry to say. Some of the distracting way these sequences are constructed is...less than stellar. Still, Zack Staenberg and Roger Barton did very well with the racing sequences, so it’s got some high highs, alongside its dismal lows. In other words, 7/10 overall here.
76%, and that sounds about right to me!
Is this my favorite racing movie or car movie? No, Mad Max Fury Road still has it beat there. Is this a movie I would watch again? Weirdly...yeah, yeah 100%, and with other people. This isn’t the best movie in the world, obviously, but I do agree that it’s underrated. It’s crazy, its bombastic (yes, I do love that word), it’s nonsensically seizure-inducing...and it’s somehow intriguing at the same time. Would watch again.
That’s it for cars! And we’re in the last week of Action January! Wow, that’s crazy. Can’t believe I’ve kept this up for this long, to be honest. So, how to send off this month? I already know the ending, but how to start? Well...I guess there’s one major subgenre I haven’t touched: disaster.

Spritle Racer (Paulie Litt) Spritle is Speed's mischievous 10-year-old brother and idolizes Speed in the same way that Speed idolized Rex when he was a kid, and a walking encyclopedia of car and racing facts, rattling stats off at lighting speed. Spritle and his pet sidekick Chim-Chim are constantly causing mischief but are fiercely supportive of their hero Speed.
Chim-Chim (Willie) Chim-Chim is Spritle's best friend and always ready with a monkey cookie whenever the need arises. He goes everywhere with Spritle, including places they shouldn't go.

I know its been 11 years since Speed Racer and some people think a sequel is a bad idea now, but I disagree because who cares that it's been a decade, the script can be tweaked a little, they can play with time, they can cast another child to play Spritle, and then get Paulie Litt to still play Spritle as a teenager and young adult. My point is they can play with time, and we've been so fucking long for a sequel. Tick tock Warner Bros. and Wachowskis!
Oh, I absolutely agree with you! It being 11 years since Speed Racer is not an issue for me. I actually think it would be fun to see where the characters, specifically the Racers, are 10+ years after Speed Grand Prix victory.
And the first movie certainly had no trouble playing with time. It had flashbacks interwoven into present day scenes. As well as flash forward scenes interwoven into present day scenes.
The sequel could easily take place a decade later and incorporate flashbacks to things like Royalton's trial proceedings. I am down for Speed Racer sequel whenever it comes out.
