not directly fics but is there someplace you take inspo from when writing? like an author or something that you look up to and try to match?

honestly this is a good question. it definitely varies on the fic that i’m working on, there’s no specific author per se but for example when i write fluff with banter, i try to match romcom books that i’ve read and still remember in my head, how the conversation flows and how i could get the same feeling in my fics, same goes with romance and angst.

i tend to reflect on any read books in my brain rather than specifically using one author as inspo. definitely still trying to understand and create my own writing style but yeah, the only thing i really take into account is to be lyrical about it
