Joel sighed, dropping heavily into his stall. At the sound, Raff looked up from where he was taping his socks but didn’t say anything, eyes dropping back to his task. Joel scrubbed at his face with both hands before he sighed again, standing up to put on his own pads.

“I’m trying to tape my socks, Farabee,” Raff said with a sigh of his own.

“O...kay?”

“You’re distracting me and it’s very irritating.”

“I haven’t even said anything!” Joel protested.

“And yet you are so loud.”

“I’m sorry. I just -” He shook his head, staring at his chest piece like it held the secrets to the universe.

“Just talk to him, my friend,” Raff said, gentle voice at odds with the hard punch he landed on Joel’s bicep.

His head snapped up. “I have no idea - talk to who?”

Raff raised an eyebrow. “That’s your ‘scared to talk to Frosty’ face.”

“My what?”

“Talk to him.” Raff headed towards the ice, waddling slightly on his skates. All Joel could do was stare after him, mouth wide open.

How - why was he so weird? Okay, maybe he wasn’t wrong, but why did he have to be so damn weird about it?

Raff could read minds. There was no way he couldn’t. It would explain so much. He was still mulling it over as he stepped onto the ice of the practice rink; he skated up to Claude, because if anyone would know it would be him or Laughts, but Scotty was across the rink. G it was.

“‘Sup, G.”

“Yeah?”

Joel scratched at the knob of his stick. “Can Raffy like, read minds?”

Claude didn’t deem that worthy of a response and skated away without a word; Joel felt his mouth pull into a frown. Rude.

Joel couldn’t help but stare at Frosty across the rink. He was laughing at something Laughts was saying, head thrown back and cheeks pink from exertion. Joel knew what that smile tasted like, knew the way the cold chapped his lips, had seen the pink of his cheeks spread to his collarbone.

He shook his head. There was a time and a place, and practice was not either. He turned away from Morgan, making eye contact with Raffy, who raised an eyebrow at him again. He pulled a face but skated to where AV was starting drills. Time and place.

Apparently time and place was his apartment five minutes after he’d gotten home from practice.

“Did you mean it?” Morgan said, even before saying hello. He was out of breath, like he’d been running.

Joel blinked, confused. “Mean what?”

“When you kissed me,” Frosty elaborated. “Did you mean it.”

“Of course I meant it,” Joel answered, trying not to roll his eyes.

“More than buddies?” Joel furrowed his brow, watching as Frosty started to wring his hands. “It’s just - you’re not shy about physical affection with your friends and I thought -”

“Morgan,” he said, interrupting his ramblings.

“Joel.”

“Do you really think I go around kissing all my friends?”

Frosty sent him a look, nervousness forgotten for a moment. “I have definitely seen you kiss at least one of our teammates on the lips. Multiple times. This week.”

“I don’t shove my tongue down their throats, though,” Joel pointed out, not even attempting to deny it. He was a tactile guy. Can’t a bro kiss their bro on the lips?

Frosty looked down at his feet, the tops of his ears turning red. “So like - more than buddies.”

“More than buddies,” Joel nodded, stomach full of butterflies. “Full homo.”

“Full homo?” Frosty asked hopefully.

“Full homo,” Joel confirmed.

“Oh.” Frosty’s smile was wide, cheeks flushed. “That’s good. Because same.”

Joel rolled his eyes but couldn’t help the answering smile that spread across his face. 

Frosty’s smile tasted just as sweet as he remembered.

3: What’s your favorite line of narration?

Andrei makes the effort to look him in the eyes, and if he was surprised by how steady Marty’s voice had sounded, he find hurt clear in the lines of his face. Andrei thinks he has never seen him look so young, not quite defeated but torn up, disappointed. It’s not— it’s not a pretty sight, it eats at Andrei’s insides a little.

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

Hm, I wouldn’t say I ever imagine alternate versions of my fics but I would maybe say that for this one, I half imagined an alternate ending? Like, this is probably the only ~not happy ending I ever wrote (and not gonna lie, that felt a little weird at the time) and I guess I lowkey imagined a way for them to figure their shit out. I’m not sure exactly how I would have gone about this but, yeah. 

11: What do you like best about this fic?

Hm, fun story, when rereading the fic to pick a fave line of narration I was like oh no, I’m not sure I still feel good about this, which, I’m not sure why. I guess I like the fact that I wrote about them (rarepairs? a whole livestyle? maybe) and that I got out of my comfort zone by writing that didn’t have a true happy ending and that had characters in conflict (and not bending, see Marty holding Andrei accountable of his actions) but no resolutions (because I do love a good apology scene).

love worth waiting for by booklandreeve is on here, not because the story itself is weird (a lovely soulmates fic) but because the pairing is elsa/mulan which i never dreamt of but kind of love?

true grit by maeve_of_winter is hockey rpf and check please! but the pairing is gritty/kent parson and is weird because, yeah, gritty, defaulting to weird when the big orange guy is involved 

trade machine by popliar so this is a kpop fic (bts specifically) but why i’d classify it as weird is that the premise is: what if kpop groups worked like sports teams? which sounds absurd but it was such a fun take that really just works?

the pirate effect by shem is an au of an au of pride and prejudice (in the briton effect, kitty goes with lydia, prevents the marriage to wickham, and finds love of her own, which is the important thing to note) but uh. the premise of this is lydia convinces a man to become a pirate to marry her, so. weird, but fun

rich man’s world by nirejseki is fic for the flash tv show, that kind of takes on the premise of noted villain leonard snart still being a noted villain, but also....an accountant?

“You love me, yeah?”

Morgan sent him a look over their shared bowl of popcorn. “Duh. Idiot.”

Joel flicked him on the nose. “I’m being self conscious here, bro, be nice.”

Morgan sighed but paused the movie. Even exasperated, he was handsome - beautiful, even. Next to Morgan, what was Joel? Some weird looking lanky dude who didn’t know how to shut up? He stared down at his hands, twisted together on top of the blankets.

A hand touched his, pausing his movements. “Joel.”

“Morgan.”

“Where’s this coming from?”

“I just -” Joel shook his head. “I dunno.”

A finger under his chin, lifting his head. When his eyes met Morgan’s they were more earnest than Joel had ever seen them. “Never doubt that I love you.” He smiled crookedly. “If I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t put up with all of your dirty laundry on our bedroom floor.”

“Woah, dude, don’t blame that shit on me.” The audacity of Frosty to blame the mess on their floor solely on him -

“Yeah, yeah.”

Joel puckered his lips. “If you love me so much you should kiss me about it.”

Morgan rolled his eyes but leant over to kiss him anyway, because his boyfriend was the best.

He was also the worst, because as soon as Joel had closed his eyes in anticipation, Morgan snickered and blew into his mouth instead.

He pulled back, spluttering. “Bro, you’re disgusting.”

“Pot, kettle.” Morgan waved a hand.

“Can I have an actual kiss?” Joel whined.

Morgan responded by rubbing their noses together gently, because he was the best, and gave him a soft kiss.

“Of course I love you, J. How could I not?”

So people keep saying Jayce's GF posted a pic with Ralph. What I don't get is how do we know it's not just another dog that looks like Ralph? Why would Nolan post some other persons dog on his feed and intro the dog like it's a new member of his own family? Nolan barely posts at all. So why post some random thing of another person's dog like it's his new puppy?None of that makes sense to me. I think Ralph is Nolan's dog.
