Eddie had been thinking he’d have some laughs, get some stories to tell the others at their next dnd session. He wasn’t scientifically minded, but he had been treating it like an experiment, gathering info on just how frat dudes partied. He sure as hell hadn’t been expecting this. He wasn’t expecting to be across a table from one Steve Harrington as he prepared his first shot, the easy smirk on his lips that said he knew that he was going to win. His very nice lips.

He had never been religious, but the vision in front of him… Eddie suddenly felt like he was staring at the sun and his wings were starting to drip wax.

Fic-to-Art #39: Gladiator's ELEVENTH Anniversary! (+ BONUS: Fic-to-Art #36...)

And here we are! March 26th arrived and I did not forget about it, but I paid for my ambitious madness with my wrist and forearm. Somehow, I finished my intended pieces on time, but I do not advise that you ever try to make 9 artworks in 3 days. No, sir. Bad life decisions, that's what that was... but this fic, as anyone knows, moves me to do things I never thought possible, starting with writing the fic itself!

It's really crazy every time it hits me that I've been doing this for as long as I have. It's been a complicated, chaotic journey, with its many ups and downs, but ultimately, it has been our journey. For some people, this is just one more fic in the pile: for me, it's been the best adventure of my life so far. Everyone who has ever been touched by Gladiator, who has ever cherished this story, who's looking forward to the big conclusion, who wants to see how the chaotic war is going to end... you're all part of this crazy adventure along with me, and I can only thank you for joining me.

This year, I had no time to make as big a project as I usually go for. Thus, I did a sort of free-for-all edition of Fic-to-Art over at Patreon and challenged myself to draw as many scenes as I could, out of their suggestions. I even sprinkled in a few scenes I impulsively wanted to draw because I loved writing them or because I look forward to writing them... and this is the result!

In order, the scenes are as follow:

Sokka combing Azula's hair, a common occurrence throughout the story.

Azula watching over a convalescing Sokka in the Chase of Jeong Jeong arc.

The outcome of Sokka's final battle in the Superior Gladiator League, namely a moment where Sokka and Azula more or less gave away their relationship's true nature to the public by raising their hands towards each other...

And the big final one is ACTUALLY Fic-to-Art #36 but hahaha woops I didn't post it here on time because it was super hard to finish since I had a LOT of things going on... but here it is now! :'D it's a glimpse VERY far into the future of this fic's timeline!

Alright, that should be enough talking and explaining. Some things are vague, some things aren't, but ultimately I really hope you guys will be looking forward to the scenes you haven't seen yet, and to Gladiator's eventual outcome.

So now... with all this being said and done, I'm gonna go take a trip down memory lane and watch my Tenth Anniversary video once more! Feel free to do the same thing if you'd like to commemorate the fic, I think it's a good way to experience Gladiator all over again, hahaha.

we're the dropoff spot for the neighborhood kids and usually they just look for snakes and shit in the woods but no, today it's "chase each other with a rusty railroad spike pretending to be vampires vs vampire slayer" ugh

please send me the patience to deal cuz i cant. the 13 year old looked me in the eye and said "i had to get treated for rabies last month, i tackled a fisher cat" after i explained tetanus (and why we don't chase our friends with rusty spikes) and i 100% believe it, he gets into so much trouble. usually my patience with kids is endless but he's like a trial sent by the devil to test me. i nearly had a heart attack when he told me about a new friend he made in an online game and dropped that they're my age. tried gently explaining why adults can be friendly but not your friend but he didn't get it, you never do at that age. he's gonna get kidnapped or eaten by a bear one day i swear to christ.

we were playing with the idea of fostering since we can't have kids but this boy is like the barrier to entry to test if we've got the stones for it or something.

btw its interesting the way james tries to imply that like. well the videos that have plagiarism are the ones our dumb stupid annoying patrons requested about bad topics that didnt deserve to have the effort put in to covering them well so basically its fine. like obv thats interesting on its own but moreso the fact that he doesnt actually /say/ it, or like. give a list of the videos hes referring to, just says "those videos are very clear on which ones they were" i think as a nod meaning like "yknow the ones everyones talking about". unless what hes meaning is that like they put a note in certain videos saying "this video was requested by a patron, we here at james somertom incorporated do not espouse these views" which seems unlikely to me. idk methinks maybe it's because there is indeed a lot more than people think and with all the buzz he's not sure which ones have been discovered yet or not, so putting down a solid list that missed some would look like he was still hiding things whereas putting down a fully sourced list would be admitting to wayyyy more than anyone's found yet

I reblogged someone else's post with my theory, but I also want a more easily accessible place to voice this idea.

I think it would be even more rude if Interlude #2: The Clearing (the Patreon-exclusive Umora one-shot releasing between Chapters 3 and 4 for those who haven't heard) is a story that seems entirely unrelated to the present day, and then we somehow figure out that the setting the story took place in is (like that OP said) the place that will one day be the Irulian Desert... but the wizards don't show up until the end.
