i think patrick liked bugs as a kid and tried to get shaun into them. later on shaun had a "bug kid phase" and is still a lil into them but is too prideful to admit he influenced her that hard
#og#patrick likes spiders and some of the more widely afraid of critters because he feels bad for them#shaun likes moths the most but also likes beetles and grasshoppers and a bunch of other stuff but is still a lil bit afraid of spiders#only a lil tho. i think she'd like tarantulas but be afraid of the really skinny long ones#(my theory is that it's because it reminds her repressed brain a little too much of the man in the suit but she doesnt consciously know it)#also shaun really likes sharks so honestly even though she's maybe more into marine life than bugs#she's really not that different from him at all huh [defends widely hated misunderstood animals and will die on that hill]#i love adding layers of ''shaun and patrick are actually really similar they're just too damn proud and cant communicate enough to see it''
