Patient Appointment System: Streamlining Healthcare Booking
In the healthcare industry, efficient appointment scheduling is crucial to ensure patients receive timely care while minimizing delays and administrative burden. A patient appointment system can help healthcare providers manage their schedules, reduce no-shows, and improve patient satisfaction. A patient appointment system typically involves an online platform or software that enables patients to book their appointments at their convenience. These systems are often integrated with electronic health records, allowing for seamless access to patient information and medical history. Providers can use this information to better understand patients’ needs and provide personalized care.
One key benefit of a Patient Appointment system is the ability to reduce no-shows. Automated appointment reminders can be sent to patients via email, text, or phone, helping to ensure that they do not miss their scheduled appointments. This helps to optimize the provider’s schedule, allowing for maximum utilization of available resources. Another benefit of a patient appointment system is the reduction of administrative workload. By automating appointment booking and reminder processes, providers can free up staff time to focus on other critical tasks. Additionally, these systems can help reduce errors in scheduling and avoid double-bookings, leading to more efficient workflows and improved patient satisfaction.
In conclusion, a patient appointment system is a valuable tool for healthcare providers to improve scheduling, reduce no-shows, and streamline administrative processes. By leveraging technology, providers can offer patients a more convenient and efficient booking experience while optimizing their own operations. Patient appointment systems can also offer benefits to patients. By providing an easy-to-use online platform for booking appointments, patients can avoid lengthy phone calls and waiting times. Many patient appointment systems also provide patients with the ability to view their upcoming appointments, cancel or reschedule appointments, and receive reminders about their upcoming appointments.
In addition to improving scheduling and reducing no-shows, patient appointment systems can also enhance the overall patient experience. By offering a more convenient and personalized booking process, patients are more likely to feel engaged and satisfied with their healthcare provider. There are also benefits to healthcare providers beyond just scheduling. Patient appointment systems can provide valuable data and analytics on patient behavior, helping providers to identify patterns and trends in appointment attendance, patient preferences, and other key metrics. This information can be used to make data-driven decisions and improve overall patient care.
Overall, a patient appointment system is a valuable tool for healthcare providers to optimize their operations and improve patient satisfaction. By offering patients a convenient and personalized booking experience and freeing up staff time for other critical tasks, healthcare providers can focus on providing high-quality care to their patients.

Treatment
“Take this pill,” They say.
Take this pill and it should work
In a month,
Three months,
Six.
Take this pill,
And it will make you tired.
They all make you tired,
Because they act on the brain,
You see.
Take this pill,
“We’re sorry the others didn’t work.”
We will smile
Sympathetically.
We do care.
Take this
Pill.
It will make you dizzy.
Take this
Injection.
Since it is treatment resistant
Now.
It will hurt,
It will make you itch.
You can still keep taking the old ones,
In case they end up working
Too.
Take this pill,
It should work in one month,
Three months,
Six.
No, we don’t know
Why this is happening.
We don’t know
How to fix it.
Your blood screening was
Normal.
Your CT scan was
Normal.
Take this pill.

#poetry#my work#lane archives#chronic pain#chronic migraines#chronic illness#this poem is still pretty ouch#the us medical system can really suck in its cyclical lack of progress regarding finding out what's “wrong” with a person#due to crazy long wait times for appointments & processing referrals as well as 4 profit health insurance#my chronic migraines had to escalate into epilepsy for me to be seen by an actual neurologist and be taken seriously & even now I still fee#neglected by the system#not because my drs are bad but because they're overloaded with patients#it's really exhausting & difficult to have to fight at every turn to receive the care we need & deserve when we're bent over in pain#in my experience this repetitive cycle really broke down my ability to advocate for myself for a while because I was just too depressed#but hey if you're reading this and you relate: I love you. You deserve to feel better and to be supported by your physicians#I'm getting better care now but healing isn't linear#and if you have insurance & you're feeling absolutely fucking crushed by the system pls look up if they have a nurse advice line & call the#to see if they're able to set up a complex care coordination plan & if the nurses themselves can set up appointments for you#it really helps to have an insurance lady or 3 you can call to set up appts & referrals or check on them to see where they're stuck#I could write a poem dedicated to all the wonderful women in social services who are literally saving my life every time they call

doctor apt was shit but the ladies at the desk were cool and set us up for a better, nicer doctor next month so. we'll see how that goes but i can say i've never been so fucking flabbergasted in my life at the bullshit coming from a doctor's mouth and with the amount of medical trauma we have that is seriously saying something.
#mine#medical trauma//#not a soul in the medical field is ever fucking learning we're a system when we get the amount of bs we do#for having one of the most common mental disorders & taking the most common prescription for it.#the amount of misinformation MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS spew abt adhd is genuinely horrifying beyond our comprehension#i do not even wanna think abt the amount of bullshit we'd have to deal with for pursuing a professional dissociation disorder my fucking go#she rly said u dont need ur adhd meds every day#i have patients i give 30 day prescriptions to that last them 3-6 months!#& we were just. sitting there. utterly horrified.#how are u even a practicing doctor at that point u cannot be serious#she also said she has a policy where she refuses to prescribe controlled substances w/out diagnosis paperwork#which like. whatever thats fine#but we were not told that ahead of time & she proceeded to give us an appointment THREE MONTHS LATER#like.................... literally basically just trying to sign us up as another sacked experiment bitch i do not fucking think so#what the fuck

I hate going to Christian-based hospitals. There's a bible verse slide show on the screens that other places usually have medical information graphics and resources on and I just got asked "Do you have a source of peace in your life?" like babygirl I'm here for neurological pain my source of peace is Lidocaine 4% and a heating pad
#The nurse was definitely lgbt because he came back and asked me for my pronouns when I know good and well that's not in the system here#We talked about his cool ass crocs and he was like 'yea I know they're weird questions but I'm required to ask'#Cause they're all like 'do you have a source of peace and joy' and 'do you have a spiritual reason not to partake in any medications here?'#which is nice in concept like wanting to avoid pork-based or gelatin-based products#and things like that#but when it's paired with all of the bible verses and 'extending the healing ministry of christ' being the hospital's slogan#well.....#all of the screens are verses about joy as if this isn't one of the most miserable places to be#they're unfortunately one of the few places in my area tho that treat CFS/ME 😔✌️#It's probably very nice for older people here fighting for their lives#and I understand/respect that#but I've got a therapy appointment after this and I'm gonna go Off#I just realized how tense I got about this Im actively trying to relax my body#my blood pressure was 140/93 sitting and 148/91 standing#which is Not Good#this entire hospital sets off my fight or flight#they're infamously known in my area not to treat transgender patients with respect#both as a community thing and from people talking to me individually#I went on a long tangent about my gender but it was just rambling lol#anyways be gay do crime don't go to christian based hospitals if you can help it#ex christian#religious trauma

#frustrating conversation with physio booking lady#i get that you have a waitlist but i am not convinced “offer appointment to the first person to pick up the phone” is a good solution to it#i am never going to be that person! i cannot answer the phone when i have a patient!#and more to the point... lots of people can't answer the phone during a work day#this is just not a good system#maybe try something else?

i think its hilarious that people think my barrier for making doctors appointments is anxiety when its literally just that i will call/try to access results/show up physically to the office over and over again for weeks with no progress bc everyone is doing their job wrong
#flashback to when i went to the imaging center 3 times for a walk in xray that they kept insisting they didnt have a referral for#that my doctor kept insisting she sent a referral for...#or to right now when the stool sample company cant access my results based on my account and patient information..#or right now when my doctor said she was sending a referral to the gi 2 weeks ago and didnt until yesterday#and ive called the gi 3 times in the last 2 days trying to get an appointment and they tell me this morning to try monday afternoon#bc they havent processed the referral yet!! and the dentist office literally just never picking up the fuckig phone!!!!#going crazy cause i have like 4 months of good health insurance left and everyone is making it IMPOSSIBLE for me to use that shit#text#one day maybe ill move to somewhere with a functional healthcare system...

today, i had a call with my psychiatrist office, and i threatened to file a complaint of patient endangerment with the department of public health. so. that was fucking intense. i did a great job tho. i am an articulate son of a bitch, even if i shouldn't have to be, and i am going to ensure the head doctor of that office calls me and explains herself or i will become A Problem.
#medical trauma#original#the context is that her office has failed to refill my meds in a timely fashion for like 7 months due to some error in their system#my meds keep me alive so this is not me being a karen this has the potential to kill her patients#but this is like. idk not hitting in the way it feels it should. the phonecall i mean.#maybe bc i am used to medical systems endangering my life so it just doesn't register as more heavy than usual#if anything i feel a little better than after an average doctor appointment bc i actually had an effect on those present.#i am a sweet fellow but i know how to speak very clearly and very intensely and how to back it up with at least some legal threat#it doesn't come up often outside of keeping myself alive#but i did a good job.#and maybe i will have saved someone else from pain or death or trauma. wouldn't be the first fucking time.#BECAUSE I FUCKING RULE. BITCHES.

How Patient Recall feature will help dental Clinics?
Keeping patients engaged and on track with their dental care is essential for maintaining their oral health and ensuring the success of your dental practice. One effective way to achieve this is through a patient recall feature. Here’s why patient recall is important and how Smilon’s patient recall feature can benefit your dental clinic.
Why Patient Recall is Important for Dental Clinics?
Promotes Regular Patient Visits
Regular dental visits are crucial for maintaining good oral health and preventing dental issues from becoming serious. The patient recall feature helps remind patients about their upcoming appointments or when it’s time for their next check-up, ensuring they stay on schedule.
Reduces No-Shows & Appointment Cancellations
No-shows can disrupt your schedule and affect your clinic’s revenue. By sending timely reminders through the recall feature, you can significantly reduce the number of missed appointments and keep your schedule running smoothly.
Enhances Patient Retention
Keeping patients engaged with regular follow-ups helps build a strong relationship and encourages them to continue coming to your clinic. A consistent recall system shows patients that you care about their ongoing dental health, which can improve retention rates.
Increases Clinic’s Revenue
When patients keep their appointments and follow through with recommended treatments, your clinic’s revenue can increase. Effective recall systems help ensure that patients don’t miss important treatments, leading to better financial outcomes for your practice.
Supports Preventive Care of your Dental Clinic
Preventive care is a key aspect of dental health. The recall feature helps patients stay on top of preventive treatments like cleanings and exams, which can prevent more serious and costly issues down the line.
How Smilon’s Patient Recall Feature Can Help Your Clinic?
Automated Appointment Reminders
Smilon’s patient recall feature automates appointment reminders via email, SMS, or phone calls. This reduces the need for manual follow-ups and ensures that patients receive timely notifications about their upcoming visits.
Customizable Recall Scheduling
You can set up customizable recall schedules to fit your clinic’s needs. Whether it’s for routine check-ups, follow-up visits, or preventive care, Smilon allows you to tailor reminders based on patient preferences and appointment types.
Easy Integration with Patient Records
Smilon seamlessly integrates with your patient records, making it easy to track and manage recall appointments. This integration ensures that all patient information is up-to-date and readily accessible when scheduling or sending reminders.
Enhanced Patient Engagement
The feature helps improve patient engagement by sending personalized messages and follow-up notifications. Engaged patients are more likely to keep their appointments and adhere to recommended treatments.
Comprehensive Reporting and Tracking
Smilon provides detailed reports and tracking for recall activities. You can monitor the effectiveness of your recall campaigns, analyze patient response rates, and adjust your strategies to improve results.
Increased Efficiency
By automating and streamlining the recall process, Smilon reduces the administrative burden on your staff. This allows your team to focus more on patient care and other important tasks, improving overall clinic efficiency.
