Carter always gets Kenobi a few presents every Christmas. Usually some treats, a new tennis ball or two, and/or a rawhide-free “bone”, but she always gets him a collar with a bow tie, just because she thinks it’s cute. Kenobi has no issue with it, and always seems excited enough when he gets to show it off, even if he doesn’t really understand what’s happening

I will also take the time to say this here as well, but for Halloween, Carter is going to dress up as Leia Organa again! And, Kenobi is going to dress up as Obi-Wan Kenobi, which really just means he gets a lil Jedi robe costume under his vest!

when Kenobi is off duty, he's an absolute goofball of a dog. He'll grab as many tennis balls as he can fit into his mouth and drop them all in Carter's lap when he wants to play, and when she's playing fetch with him, she has to throw at least three tennis balls for him to actually bring them back

although Kenobi is obedient and does his job well, he does have his own quirks that haven’t been trained out, and quirks that Carter honestly doesn’t mind. For one, he sings - if she’s ever playing the guitar specifically, he can’t help but howl along, and she finds it hilarious. But, she’s also learned very quickly she can’t play the guitar at night unless she wants Kenobi to wake the whole compound

another quirk is that he loves tennis balls. He doesn’t react when he’s on duty, but whenever he’s off his harness and allowed to play, Kenobi goes nuts. He tries to fit as many as he can in his mouth, so far reaching the achievement of five at once, and needs at least one when playing. Otherwise, he’ll get huffy at Carter and will whine until she gives him one or he’s put back in his harness

He's so cute ;^; / Would Carter actually get to like-like Quentin in the ikau, not only because ships are unlikely in that au, but also because ppl with genius minds tend to clash a lot / Does Carter get to befriend the NPCs in the ikau? I just. Love the NPCs. Ryan's iconic.

Kenobi was almost two years old when Carter got him! He had just recently finished his training when they were paired together, and after a "test run", for a lack of a better term, she was able to keep him!

She would, actually! While they are both incredibly intelligent, I honestly don't see it being too much of an issue between them? I mean, yeah, it might cause 'em to clash every now and then, but I think they could make it work! But she'd develop romantic feelings for him later on because of who he is as a person - he's obviously not a villain in the au, and with him being someone who really understands her, it'd be easy for her to strike up their friendship again, and then develop feelings for him beyond that. Either way, though, she's absolutely happy to have her friend back!

I've been thinking about that, and I'm honestly not sure, tbh! Like... okay, I can see her running into them hanging out or something, and it... kinda being like that scene from Kingd.om He.arts II (which, disclaimer, I haven't actually played, I've only seen a playthrough sdgfjhgfsdhkj), where Sora has a connection to Roxas's friends at the start of the game despite not technically knowing them, and vice versa! Like, she'd have a feeling she knows them, and they have a feeling they know her, but they just... kinda move on their separate ways with a weird feeling in the back of their mind about it. But, with that said, I think... if Carter could be encouraged to pursue her interests in astrobotany, yes, she could be friends with them in the ikau as well! It'd be very different, since she'd be meeting them when they're halfway through their schooling and she's just starting out, or they'd be almost completed, but I can see them still bonding and hanging out even after they graduate and she's still at uni!

Did Carter name Kenobi or was that the name he already had when he was given to her?

((that was his name when she got him! His name absolutely got her attention when the person helping her mentioned a few dogs that had the temperament and training that could help her, so she opted to train with him first to see if they actually fit

yes!! She absolutely would do that, and to add to the idea of stringing them together, she has strung some into necklaces before and made Kenobi wear them, who honestly didn't mind one bit

In her downtime, Carter enjoys making origami stars - usually while watching a show or movie. It's something that keeps her hands busy and is an outlet for her to let out any restless or anxious energy, and she'll be happy to show someone else how to make them
