any ideas on kane?
Tumblr media
Kane is one of my favorite characters that I've come up with so I've come up with a lot of neat ideas
Kane is a headhunter and his codename is "the boogeyman"
his entire basis is fear and the mind, all of his abilities sorta fit that theme
for one he generates an aura of nostalgia, who ever is near him is filled with an overwhelming feeling of recognition towards him, but they can't place where they know him from.(this is kinda based off of scp-2852 "cousin Johnny")
his other powers include
Umbrakinesis: The ability to manipulate Shadows and Darkness.
pathokenesis: the ability to change someone's emotions
Hypnosis
memory manipulation
shadow teleportation
Flight
something that I'm just gonna call Black Mercy where he can lock someones mind in a vision of their idealized life, while puppeting their body around
he is a master manipulator and gas lighter, erasing any memory of his existence from anyone he doesn't want to remember him(inspired by The god of secrets from dndorks; symmetry saga) he's a part of a villain group with Horizio, the stranger, and the 7

I’ve been trying to figure out for quite a while now what peyton’s (My OC and Klaus’ best friend 😅) power could be. Oh and before I forget, her full name is Peyton Lovelis 😊 (I’ve been struggling to come up with a last name for her lol) So, I thought maybe she could be immortal. But Klaus in the comics has that ability. I thought maybe telepathy but, it just didn’t feel like that would be right for her. So I’ve been trying to come up with something that I felt would fit her. And since she’s kind of similar to me, I thought about her possibly being an empath. (Whether you believe in that or not, which is totally okay if you don’t, I feel that I am an empath. There’s a lot of reasons as to why I feel that way but that’s not important right now lol) So her ability is empathy/pathokinesis. She can sense, feel and understand people’s emotions and can manipulate emotions. When she was younger, she knew she could feel others emotions but she didn’t know she could manipulate them. Being an empath made her pre-teen and teenage years tough. Not only was she dealing with her hormones changing, depression and anxiety, but she was also dealing with taking on the emotions of anyone she was physically close to. Not knowing how to process or cope with all of these emotions, Peyton struggled a lot with her mental and emotional health. I have a lot more ideas for her, but this is what I’ve come up with so far. My thought was she didn’t know as a young child that empathy/pathokenises was her ability. She was just always thought of and seen as an overly emotional and very sensitive child. I’m not exactly sure how she’s going to find out that this is her ability. I’m still trying to work that out. But with Peyton taking on and feeling other’s emotions, she can truly understand how Klaus feels and what he goes through. Peyton is someone that Klaus doesn’t have to really open up to because she can sense and feel what they feel. She can truly understand all of the pain Klaus feels regularly and she doesn’t judge him for how they cope with everything. She feels that if she were in their shoes and had that ability, she would most likely handle it and cope the exact same way. And sometimes, she would cope with her struggles caused by her abilities the same way. Klaus wanted to help her so she didn’t have to feel everything that she was because he understands that sometimes everything can feel like it’s too much, can be extremely overwhelming and so draining. Klaus being able to have someone who understands them so well and accepts them for who they are, would mean everything to them! So they have a very close and have a strong bond with Peyton. 🖤 There’s obviously a lot more I want to cover and dive into with their friendship, but I figure I can do that as I start to write more and get a better feel for who Peyton is on her own. I just thought I would share a little bit of what I was thinking and came up with. I’m really excited about this! Hopefully anyone who reads this will like this 😊 I know it’s not a super unique power/ability, but I wanted to give Klaus someone who they could truly be themself with, who would just love Klaus unconditionally for who she is and who truly knows them better than anyone 💙 Klaus deserves to have someone like that and needs to have someone besides just ben who gets to see every side of her. (I use he/she/they pronouns for Klaus, btw. 😅) So yeah, this is what I have so far 😊 If anyone has any requests for these characters, please feel free to let me know! 😊 Also, my grammar is a work in progress so please bear with me 😅 I struggled with grammar in school and haven’t written anything like this since then 😅 (It’s been almost 9 years lol.) And honestly, I haven’t ever written anything like this before so I apologize in advance for it possibly being kind of rough. I plan on asking someone to read whatever I’m writing as I write it, so I can get critiques and constructive criticism and so it can help me get better at this 😅 I hope all of this makes sense and I’m sorry for rambling 💙

“A time travelling fairy... My my, what an interesting pet h͘͘e̵'s̨͘͝ chosen. Say changeling, what would it take for you to make a ‘deal’ with me? Time has been my enemy for too long to suddenly be in hi̷̛̛s͡ hands... Help a poor lost soul, traveler.” Dark smiles like a wolf cornering a lamb of god, his eyes a swirling black abyss.
Jameson taps his fingers “no” resolutely, knowing full well the damage that can be done making deals with creatures like Dark. Anti has warned him that his powers are only to be used for his benefit. He attempts to slip out from under Dark’s grip, but the creature holds him fast.
“Come on, Jackson. I can make your life better. I can fix your heart. I can make it all better...” Dark’s face looks suddenly kind and soft, and distinctly more “Jack-like” than a few moments prior. Jameson blinks in surprise as an iron fist of cold blackness grips his heart, and he is ravaged with pity and fear for the sake of Jack- of Dark- of whomever this is. His eyes widen and water, and suddenly he wants to help him more than anything else in this universe. He fights the familiar grip of pathokenesis as Dark’s eyes swirl with that haunting ‘you’re a mouse and I’m a snake’ blackness. “Help me m͉̞̝͔̘̤͢a̻͍͇͖k̦͙̱e͚͇ ̱̞̕h̘̳͍̱̠̜́i̛̝͈͉̬̣͇m͓̝͈̦̰̠ ͇͇̤͎͡s̡̲̗̗ọ̹͉͍͙̕r̶r̴̖̠̻̹̖͍y̡̱͖̼̞”

A Different Time, A Different Place, Ch. 5
A TIME SKIP...
All Might has vanished from Japan and no one but two people know where he went. But what of the girl he's left behind?
“The girl is pregnant, Torino.”
Recovery Girl was one of the only people who knew what happened, and where Torino sent the young hero Toshinori. She was over his house, giving a weekly update on the girl All Might had been dating. The one thing he had made Gran Torino promise was that he would ensure Keri wasn't marked by All For One as she tried to live her life. But he didn't want to know what was going on - it hurt too much.
He covered his mouth, looking outside at the full moon, “You’re sure? You're sure she's pregnant?"
“I’m a doctor of course I’m sure! It’s hard for me to get close as a popular hero. She’s enrolled in college. She didn’t go into hero work.”
He nodded, “Yes, we knew she was going into college," Torino shook his head and ran a hand through his silver hair, "No one can know. Keep an eye on her, make sure no one is also watching. I can't believe Toshinori was stupid enough to get a girl pregnant!”
Tumblr media
“You have to tell him.”
“No.”
“He has a right to know Torino!” She sounded shocked.
“If he knows he’ll come back to Japan. We can’t have that happen right now. It’ll be a distraction. The girl doesn’t know what happened to him. He doesn’t know anything about her. He’s already grieving the loss of Nana and his relationship. He doesn’t need more to worry over!”
“This isn’t right...”
“I promised I would protect him. And in keeping this knowledge from him we protect all three of them.”
Chiyo sighed and nodded, “This will be hard on her.”
“She’s strong enough.”
Sighing again the woman spoke, “He'll never forgive you for this, you know.”
“He can hate me if he wants. His vengeance is needed to get stronger to face All for One, not worrying about a child. That is what I have to focus on. The child has a loving mother to care of it.”
“I should let you go, Torino,” She stood and took a deep breath.
"You're upset with me, Chiyo," He sighed and pushed his hair back again,  “Keep me posted.”
“I will...” she sighed as she left.
 -------------------------
"Come on, Toshi! What are you afraid of they're just girls!" Dave Shield laughed as he tried to get Toshinori to go to a frat party with him, "The girls are absolutely obsessed with you! You have quite the number of groupies already! You're so lucky!"
The hulking blonde shook his head, adjusting his varsity jacket, "I should... try to do some more hero work."
Dave sighed, "Toshi. You've been working all day." He patted his friends back, "Come unwind with us. It's a frat party! I know you don't have those in Japan. You guys are all too strict with your school and shit."
"Okay- okay," he nodded and pushed a hand over his hair.
"We're just a couple single guys anyway, right?"
All Might looked strange but nodded, Dave made a mental note to ask him about it sometime. Maybe he had a bad breakup?
The frat house was loud and full of drunk teenagers, Toshinori was 18 and he tried to rationalize that he shouldn't worry about Japan while he was here in America. He held a beer in his hand as he looked down at it, he suddenly lifted it up and downed it.
"Toshi! Come do a shot!"
The boy walked over with his empty glass, "A what?"
David laughed, trying to think of the words in English to describe it, "Its a single serving of hard booze you drink in one go."
"Oh." He took the little shot glass handed to him and he did as the other boys did, grimacing at the bitter taste of the tequila, "Well that was unpleasant."
"You don't drink it because its pleasant Toshinori, you drink it because it gets you drunk faster!" One of the guys explained.
"Oh," he expressed again, taking another two shots because that's what the other boys did.
The party went on and Toshinori was feeling buzzed and a little sick to his stomach. He moved to cross the room, heading for the door to get some air. He was stopped by a pretty blonde girl with a small waist and big round ass who started grinding against him to the music playing, and for a moment he let himself go and placed his large hands on her waist. He sighed as she bent over and stood up, pressing back against him.
He looked down at her and for a moment, he couldn't think of anyone but Keri.
Pulling away from the blonde she let out an annoyed, "Hey!"
"S-sorry." He mumbled and moved to head back to his original trajectory - the front door. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed softly.
Dave was outside smoking a blunt, beer in hand, and he frowned when he saw Toshinori come out of the party looking upset. Sighing he wet his fingertips, putting out the joint and stashing it in his pocket, "Toshi!" He smiled and walked up to his friend, "Hey man, you don't look so good, whats up?" Toshinori looked up at his friend, there were tears in his eyes. Dave knitted his brows together and put a hand on his back, "Hey- hey Toshi, whats wrong?"
He sniffed, rarely ever so vulnerable, but he was buzzed and the tears wouldn't stop, "Dave..."
"Hey, come on- come on I'll drive ya home, pal."
"Yeah?"
Dave smiled and nodded, "Of course, come on."
The blonde nodded and walked with his friend, hands in his pockets as he sniffled. Once they were a considerable distance from the house and down the street toward David's car, he finally spoke, "I left a girl back home."
He frowned, "Yeah? Whats her name?"
"Keri Chairo."
Nodding Dave climbed into the car, "That's a pretty name. Why don't you tell me about her?"
Toshinori clamored into the car as well and he leaned his head back to look up at the sky, "She's really smart. She didn't go to the same high school as me but, I always saw her when i was on patrol, and stuff, y'know? So I kept skipping off patrol so I could talk to her until I finally got up the courage to ask for her number."
"Dude, you needed to WORK UP to asking a girl for her number? You're tall and handsome and you have the most powerful quirk I've ever seen!"
He chuckled and wiped his teary eyes, "You don't get it, Dave, she's so beautiful... and she's going to college. She wants to be a hero therapist."
"Is she quirkless?"
Shaking his head he took a deep breath, "No, she has whats called pathokenesis. Emotional manipulation. Like, if someone is sad she can send comforting waves through their body. Or she can inspire you if you're having doubts. She can feel peoples emotions if they're really strong, or if shes focusing on one person. And like," he laughed, blushing, "When we make out and you know... go all the way with her and stuff, she can't control her quirk and you can feel what she's feeling, its - it's wild."
Dave raised his brows, "You have a whole-ass girlfriend and you didn't tell me!? Oh my god Tosh, i thought we were friends!" He laughed, "You've gone all the way with her! Get out of here!"
Toshinori blushed harder, "Yeah... we used to get motel rooms and sneak around about it. But I... I left Japan without telling her. She has no idea where I am."
"Oh dude, that's harsh. Is that what's bugging you?"
He nodded and slumped in the seat, "Remember I told you I have to get stronger to defeat the person who killed my mentor?" When Dave nodded he continued, "I came here because I need to become a hero. I need to get stronger and more powerful. But if I did it in Japan his thugs or he could find me - and if I told Keri? She could be a target. I... I had to protect her."
"Man." Was all Dave could think to say.
The blonde just started to cry softly, "When I finally get back to Japan I need to find her, tell her how sorry I am. That I did what was best for her."
"Toshi, she'll understand."
"What if she doesn't! What if she hates me forever for what I've done?"
The brunette sighed and started the car finally, "If she really loves you, she'll understand."
"I miss her so much," he whimpered, wiping at his eyes.
Dave nodded and patted his arm, "Well, you know what I think?" He looked over but didn't speak, so David continued, "I think you work hard, you throw yourself into this more than before. You become the Symbol of Peace you want to be. So then, when you go back home, you'll be so successful and strong and you can show off all that hard work. So she'll know you did it for her, and for the world. That you gave it your all, and you can look at her and say, Keri, I am here."
He sniffed and smiled a little, "I like that... I am here."
Dave laughed, "Nah man, you have to say it with conviction," throwing his head up he laughed, "I AM HERE!"
Toshinori laughed a little at his friend, taking a deep breath, "I am here!"
"LIKE YOU MEAN IT, ALL MIGHT!" Dave smirked.
Toshinori laughed and beamed, "I AM HERE!!!!"
 --------------------
Keri Chairo looked down and gently rubbed the swell of her stomach as she left the hospital. She was going to have a boy, that was incredible news. She sighed thinking of the baby’s father, how he must be dead. He’d never abandon her would he? He said he loved her.
She had gone thorough a lot of changes through the last four months, she was only 18 and she would be a mother before her 19th birthday. She would have to figure out how to care for a child and be a full time student. Luckily her parents were helping her out so she wouldn't have to quit school.
“Excuse me, miss?”
Keri looked up and gasped with a smile, “Y-you’re Recovery Girl-“
The older woman nodded with a smile, “Yes- and whats your name?”
“Keri Chairo, miss.”
“Well young miss, it seems you are expecting?”
Blushing she held her stomach gently, “Yes... I’m going to have a boy, I just found out today.”
“Oh how exciting!” She beamed- Toshinori would have a son - “How... old are you dear?”
“Oh... I’m... I’m eighteen... I know what you must be thinking... some dumb teenager getting knocked up. Why would she have the baby."
Recovery Girl smiled kindly at her, "That's not what i was going to say - but, why are you having the baby?"
She looked down at her hands as she picked at her nails, "I don't know if i would have kept it if... If the father was still here but - he... he's dead and, and we loved each other. We were usually always safe but, someone really close to him died and we were careless. And now he's gone too. It's all I have left of him."
Chiyo's heart shattered instantly knowing the truth, "Oh my dear I'm so sorry... what happened to him?"
"That's the thing," she took a deep breath, "I don't know."
"Then how do you know he's dead?"
"I'd like to think he wouldn't have just disappeared and left me behind."
"Was he a hero?"
"He wanted to be, yeah." She sighed.
She placed a gentle hand on the girl's arm, "Well dear, from what I know of heroes, sometimes they have to make tough decisions for the people they love. Maybe something happened that he couldn't risk you getting hurt? Maybe one of these days he'll come back when you least expect it. But if he is, at least you will have your baby to cherish."
The girl knitted her brows together and she bit her lip, trying not to cry, "I'm sorry I'm getting all weepy on you, miss."
"Oh no no, please, don't apologize young miss Chairo! You're pregnant and grieving, you have a right to be upset," she looked around, "Hey, why don't I take you out for lunch? My treat? Maybe you can tell me all about this boy of yours? And what you want to do with your future?"
Keri looked to her, she felt the emotion of sincerity coming from the woman and she nodded, wiping her nose on her sleeve, "Okay, I'd like that."
"Besides, someone needs to properly congratulate you on the fact that you're having a son."

All Right, All Might: Ch.8
Word Count: 3,242
Rating: PG
Painting: Toshinori Yagi X FemOC
The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen. The attack on the USJ has sparked a lot of things from happening -- including a new level of relationship for Toshinori.
---
CHAPTER EIGHT: The Morning After
A soft hum leaves Patho’s lips as she feels the sunlight through the blinds on her cheeks, and the long lean arms around her waist — wait — her eyes pop open and she looks down at the familiar hands and arms of Toshinori wrapped around her from behind. Her whole body feels like its on fire in an instant. Biting her lip she turns her face to look at him. He looks like an angel.
She remembers going to bed with him — not WITH him, but, she made him sleep in the queen sized bed. He was injured after all. He went to sleep curled up on one side of the bed, and she on the other. When did they start spooning?
Closing her eyes again she sighed softly, it felt so nice to be in his arms. She could still smell his cologne faintly on his skin, she loved the smell of him. His whole aura was still big and strong and powerful - he just didn’t think so - so being in his arms felt so safe. She knew it was the only place she ever wanted to be.
Things will be different one day, when they are we can talk about it then.
His words from last night rang through her head, she didn’t want to have to wait until that one day came. She knew he was selfless, that he wouldn’t want to put a burden on anyone - but he deserved to be happy too. To chase what he wanted. Keri sighed and turned in his arms slowly so she was facing the sleeping man’s face.
They would have to talk about this now.
Leaning up she pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, “Toshinori…”
He hummed softly, squeezing the plush woman in his arms, “Not yet…”
She chuckled gently, “Toshi… come on.”
Toshinori blinked his eyes open and flushed bright red, “UH— I UH—“ Keri put her hand on his chest, activating her quirk to calm him. After a few moments he swallowed thickly, “We’re… very close.”
“I know, I woke up with you spooning me,” Keri smiled, “Problem?”
He flushed beet red, “No— no I… I just don’t remember…”
“We just must have been drawn to another body in the bed, you and I usually sleep alone you know?” She gingerly ran her hand over his chest, “Toshi…. i…. I want us to have that talk you mentioned.”
“Keri.”
“No. I want to have that talk now because I don’t know what will happen tomorrow or the next day and I don’t want to do this anymore.” She looked sternly up at him, tears in her eyes.
His own eyebrows knit together, “Don’t cry—“
“Toshinori, will you go out on a date with me?” She looked up at him, cheeks red, eyes glassy.
The older man felt so conflicted to look into her eyes and know what life had in store for him still, he thought about Nighteye in that moment, about his mentor, about All for One. She didn’t know everything, how could he tell her everything? She dealt with enough, and now she was going to have to deal with more student issues due to the attack the previous day.
Taking a deep breath he sighed, “Keri… you’re just still all worked up from yesterday is all, you don’t mean that.”
She scoffed softly, “I know perfectly well what I mean and what I don’t mean. I was so worried yesterday and, and I spoke to your friend outside — he… he asked me how long I’ve had feelings for you.”
Toshinori’s cheeks reddened as he looked at her, his arms still wrapped comfortably around her. He wanted to get up, put some distance between them - but he was frozen, “You… have feelings for me?”
“Yeah… I do.”
He took a deep breath and sighed, “You don’t want me, I’m… I’m old and I’m ugly, and I’m all but washed up at this point, and I… I don’t frankly know how long I’m going to live. You don’t even know me that well because I always keep everyone at arms length…”
“I do want you,” She looked up at him, “I know I don’t know everything. And you can take your time telling me what you want to tell me. You’re my best friend, Toshi.” She gently squeezed his shirt, “I want to try… but if you don’t… then that’s okay too.”
Toshinori looked at the girl he trusted implicitly and he considered everything they’ve been through so far together. She knew about things no other woman knew about him, he so willingly let her almost completely into his life. He’d been asked so many times now if they were dating — well, here she was asking to try? Who was he to deny her?
Taking a deep breath, the older man gently rubbed her side, “I want to try.”
A tear slipped down her cheek as she broke into a smile, “You do?”
He nodded and smiled bashfully, “I’ve never been in a relationship before… I… I don’t know how good I’ll be at it.”
Keri just laughed softly, “We’re literally just going to be what we’ve always been — just, adding in this…”
Leaning up, she pressed her lips gently to his and his whole body tensed. His hands gripped into her hips as he slowly began to kiss her back. His hand slowly threaded into her long messy hair. After she pulled back with a soft smile he chuckled, “I think I can handle that…”
Smiling she ran a thumb over his cheek, “Come on… we have to get ready for work. It’s a big day. You have the big meeting with Nezu and the other teachers, and I have to start 1-A’s counseling.”
He groaned, “Its too early.”
“No, I gotta bring you back to your apartment to get ready.” She chuckled, “I don’t want you to use your hero form until you get to school.”
“Yes, dear.” He smirked and kissed her softly once more before she pulled out of his arms and stood up, stretching, “So… will you still go on a date with me?” Toshi smiled.
Nodding she grinned, “Yes.”
—————
Walking up to the school with Toshinori in his All Might form was strange enough, usually when she was with him he was himself, her small might. But today, he had his arm crooked for her to hold onto, and her arms were wrapped around his enormous bicep, “Are you sure you’re okay with this Toshinori...? It’s only going to be a few moments until we’re seen.” She whispered softly.
He smiled a winning smile down at her, “I asked you on a date! What kind of partner would I be if I didn’t escort you to work!?”
She giggled gently at his explosive cheer, “Toshi- I’m serious.” “I’ve wanted to walk with you like this for a while, I don’t care who sees. Everyone we know apparently thinks we’re dating, right? So, here we are on time and ready for work.” He smiled more subtly, and winked.
Blushing she smiled and nodded, “All right, All Might.”
Walking into the front doors of UA, the kids still in the hallway seemed to stare in disbelief- wasn’t that the guidance counselor? - some whispered. Some less kind words reached her ears and she almost looked down, pulling away before she heard a strong voice. Her anchor, “Look at me, baby,” she looked up, “You look beautiful today.”
She flushed bright red, keeping control over her quirk- but barely- “Toshi...” she smiled.
“Come on, I’ll walk you to your office,” he smoothly took her hand and led her to the elevator, as if he was in hero mode saving her from being embarrassed. Once they were alone in the small room, he leaned down and kissed her forehead, “You okay?”
“Yeah- you?”
He nodded with a small smile.
She took a deep breath and leaned into him, “You’ll make sure to fill me in on what Nezu and the others have to say at the meeting, right? Since I can’t attend.”
“Oh yes, of course, I’ll fill you in over lunch,” he nodded, stopping to take her hand once more to walk her to her office on the administrative floor, “You’re going to be great today.”
Chuckling gently she motioned for him to lean down, and she stroked his cheek gently, “So are you... I’ll see you at lunch.”
He nodded and leaned into the gap, kissing her softly.
—————
Across town… an old hero was sitting down with his breakfast to watch the morning news and read an interesting letter from an old student…
Greetings,
The air is warm here, it feels like summer is around the corner. I hope this letter finds you well, sir, in good health and even better spirits. This semester I took a position as a teacher at UA High School. Thats right. Me. Now guiding the next generation of heroes.
I was hoping to find someone worthy of inheriting my power among the elite students at the school. A hero in training with outstanding test scores and a powerful quirk. However, before my tenure even began, I met a young man. Even though he was weak and had no quirk of his own, he showed incredible bravery. He rushed into a dangerous situation that pro heroes, even myself, to hesitate.
He managed to save the life of a classmate. He might not have had a plan when he ran in, but he knew he had to do something. I feel like watching this young man spring into action taught me something that day. It reminded me of the virtues I must embody in order to call myself aa hero. Thats why I meant it when I told him he too could become a hero. Shortly after that, I told this pupil the secret of my quirk, and proposed that he inherit it from me - he accepted without hesitation. I have been training him for the trials he will have to overcome, in order to be accepted into the hero course at UA. Even though he struggles with his abilities, he gives it 100 percent as he tried to harness One for All.
I don’t like to toot my own horn, but I believe I found the perfect person. Who has what it takes to be a real hero. I’m still quite new at the role of instructor, so the time may come when I have to trouble you, my old teacher, for advice. I’ll be counting on your wisdom and patience when that time comes.
Until then, please take care of yourself as the seasons begin to change.
There is, however, something troubling me that I would like to request your advice on now, sir. There is a woman in my life. I think I am in love with her, and I don’t know what to do. She knows my secret, she knows about One for All. I actually met her last year when I visited UA to speak to Nezu. She and I have been almost inseparable and, sometimes I can convince myself maybe she has feelings for me as well.
She is the schools guidance councilor. Patho is her hero name - but her name is Keri Chairo. Isn’t that a beautiful name? But she’s so young, she’s a year younger than Aizawa, and - well, suffice to say, I am so conflicted on what to do.
What would you do?
I’ll continue to keep you updated on what’s happening with my young pupil.
Sincerely Yours, Toshinori Yagi
“So,” he smirked, “Toshinori has found himself a successor and a woman in such a short time, I’ll have to write back immediately. Poor sap.”
————————
Keri smiled, pouring a cup of tea for Eijiro Kirishima, her first student counseling session of the morning, “How are you feeling this morning, Eijiro?”
The red-headed boy smiled up at her, “I’m feeling okay… a little weary but… I think mostly okay?” He picked up the cup, blowing on it, “Thank you for the tea— you have a really cute office.”
She smiled again and sat back down, “Thank you, so, you’re class is getting a lot of attention, hm?”
“Yeah! We’re like celebrities!” He laughed a little, “But, I dunno…” Patho tilted her head and rested her chin on her hand to listen to him, “I don’t know if I’m ready to be seen like that, helpless in a disaster. It just, it makes me think about when I was in middle school.”
She took a sip of her tea and pushed a plate of cookies toward him, “What do you mean, Eijiro? What happened in middle school?’
“I just,” he paused, clearly still shaken up under his cool facade, “I used to be such a coward, I never helped anyone. And I mean - yesterday? I don't think my stupid quirk helped anyone either.”
Keri smiled softly, her forehead beginning to glow as she sent calming waves toward the teen, “First off, your quirk is certainly not stupid. You just haven’t unlocked its full potential yet is all, that’s what most quirk users lack, the motivation to find out where they fit.”
He sipped his tea, feeling a little better already.
“Also, recognizing you want to be better and to actively take steps to improve yourself into the man you want to be - that’s extremely brave and grown up to do, you know.”
“It… is?” Kirishima blushed.
She nodded, “Of course. Plenty of us pros are scared to death, but we know what we need to rise to become to be heroes, and you definitely understand that already, Eijiro. Most of your classmates probably skated by all their life until now.” She smiled, “When you’re someone without vast amounts of power, you respect and work for it. But those who have always had power? They’ll end up having more work to do on themselves in the long run. So, really, you’re ahead.”
A small, bashful smile came over his face, “You think I’m ahead?”
Keri nodded, “I do.” She took another drink of her tea, “I think you’re a sensitive, sweet, brave guy. Definitely the picture of what it means to be a man - you just keep holding that image of who you want to be in your head, Eijiro, and I know you’ll hone your quirk and do great things.”
His eyes pricked with tears and he grinned, wiping at his eyes, “Miss Keri, you’re the coolest ever… I mean it.”
Giggling gently she smiled, “Would you like to hang out here a little while longer and drink your tea?”
He hummed softly, “Yeah. I really would it that’s okay, Miss.”
“Of course it is, Eijiro - so tell me, who is your favorite hero?”
Grinning he seemed to be shaken our of the small funk he was in, “Crimson Riot! The gentleman hero! He’s so cool and manly and he always does what’s right! I wanna be just like him!” She giggled gently and smiled before he paused, “Who’s your favorite hero, miss Keri?”
She blushed a little and chuckled, “Well, when I was a little girl… I wanted to be just like All Might. I had this doll of him that I carried around everywhere.”
He laughed, “It must be so amazing to get to work with him!”
“Oh… its certainly something alright,” She chuckled.
“You guys are like... really close right? I mean — I heard someone say you were holding hands this morning?” He leaned over and smirked, “Whats the deets?”
Keri blushed and sighed, looking at him, “You are definitely very charming, I’ll give you that. I don’t see any reason why you wont have a sea of groupies when you get your license…”
“You didn’t answer my question!” He pouted.
She smirked, “A woman’s got to have some secrets, hm?”
Huffing he slid down in his seat, finishing his tea, “I guess.”
Laughing softly she stood, “Okay, Eijiro, I think it’s time for you to head back to class. But you come and see me any time you’re feeling down and out - or even if you just need someone to chat with, okay?”
He smiled and picked up his backpack, going to the door, “Thanks Miss Chairo, I’m really glad you’re here.”
“Anytime,” she smiled and waved, closing the door, she sighed, “He’s relatively fine from that — lets see, who’s next—“
She didn’t even need to look at her calendar as the door slammed open, “Why do I keep ending up here, nerd.”
Turning she smiled, “Good morning Katsuki.”
“Tch, whatever Pathological. I passed shitty hair in the hall, so - is he over here like a sap getting his head shrunk and all that?” He crossed over to the fridge, “Can I have some of this milk?”
“Of course,” Keri rolled her eyes with a smile, “Eijiro and I were talking about our favorite heroes.”
Bakugo rolled his eyes as he poured a glass, “Such a waste of time coming out of damn class to shoot the shit. I know who his favorite hero is, and it isn’t All Might. Who he hell’s favorite hero isn’t All Might?”
She smiled a little more, “I mean, you know I’m in agreement with you.”
“Yeah, I know. You’re his little sidekick nowadays. Never see one without the other. It’s annoying. Someone told me you two were holding hands this morning. Never thought All Might would let a dumb girl get in his way.” He took a drink of the milk before going to sit down.
“Why does everyone keep bringing that up?”
“Tch, what are you, dense?” He looked at her in earnest for a moment, “This is all Might we’re talking about, not some extra like Ectoplasm. All Might comes to school holding hands with your dumb ass, of course people are gonna talk.”
“Well then, lets just cut to the point shall we? How are you feeling from yesterday, Katsuki?” “I feel fine. What’s the big deal? This is more a UA problem than a me problem.”
“I just need to check with everyone, especially for the sake of your parents, that you are all going to be alright in the weeks to come, especially with the Sports Festival looming.”
He leaned back on his chair, eating a cookie, since they were there, “Well my parents know I’m fine, I know I’m fine, and I’m gonna win that damn festival.”
She smirked, “Well, good.”
Frowning he put his chair legs back on the floor, ‘Whats that smirk for, dumbass?”
Patho just sighed, “You’re my favorite student, you know that?”
His cheeks lit red and he coughed, “Of course I’m your favorite! I’m the best at everything! Even seeing the guidance councilor! I’m going back to class. These cookies suck.” He chugged the rest of his milk, going to rinse out the glass, “I’m sure there are other extras who need to talk more than me. I don’t need you. You know? I just come up here to humor you.”
“Of course, Katsuki.” She smiled, “Have a good day, alright?”
“I will!” He huffed, still blushing, “and you know- like, you too — DUMBASS.” He practically steamrolled out of the door and she laughed to herself.
She had a ten minute break between appointments now, and so she let her thoughts wander to Toshinori as she cleaned up her office for the next student - Tenya.

The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen. The attack on the USJ has sparked a lot of things from happening – including a new level of relationship for Toshinori and Keri. And now with the sports festival in two weeks, she starts counseling the 1-A students, and she gets to know class 1-A better than before.

CHAPTER NINE: TRYING OUR BEST
“Miss Chairo- you wanted to see me?” The calm and clear voice of Tenya Ida came though the doorway with a soft hesitation.
“Yes- come in Tenya, make yourself at home,” the guidance counselor smiled and took a deep breath, “I’m sure you of all people understand why you’re here today.”
He gave a nod, sitting on the sofa, “Yes miss. About yesterday.”
Keri smiled, “I just want to check in on you... see how you’re doing after everything, you were a real hero yesterday and I know that kind of fear that comes with not knowing what to do but having to act anyway.” She set a cup of tea in front of the boy on the coffee table, “You have that ability to act with purpose, I saw it also the other morning when you stopped everyone from stampeding out of the cafeteria.”
Ida blushed and he smiled shyly, “Thank you miss Chairo...”
“I just tell it like it is, Tenya,” she smiled, “Let’s talk about it, let’s try to unpack it from yesterday- you were a mess when I saw you. How did you feel?”
Taking a deep breath he looked down at his fists on his knees, “I... all I could think in my head was that I was abandoning them. That I was leaving them one man down while I ran. I thought, what if I’m not fast enough, what if there are villains waiting to ambush someone running for help?”
She nodded and listened to him, her forehead began to glow as she wordlessly reassured the boy, “Those are all very valid concerns, I haven’t been doing support hero work long, but I have known a lot of heroes - do you know the BMI Hero Fatgum?”
“Yeah! I’ve heard of him…”
“He always was afraid of hurting people or not being fast enough to save people - heroes are always afraid. But its the ability to dig deep and push forward that really makes a good hero. And you really do deserve your place here at UA. All of the members of your class do, you all have proved how tenacious you all are.”
Tenya took a deep breath and nodded, “I guess all heroes are afraid - do you get afraid Miss Chairo?”
“Of course I do. I was afraid yesterday when I found you running up to the school. But we had to act, hm?” He nodded and took a deep breath, “But it is completely necessary to decompress and talk about incidents after they happen. It’s important to talk about how we feel. Because if you bottle things up, or try to take things into your own hands… well, things don’t turn out well most of the time.”
He nodded and took a deep breath, “Talk about how I feel.” He nodded again, “Maybe as class rep I can help the other students keep being reminded of this valuable lesson!”
She chuckled and sighed, “Tenya I think that’s a wonderful sentiment, that’s why I wanted to become a hero therapist. Because I think it’s very important. So if you ever feel anything start to pile up on you, or you feel out of control, or afraid - you come and talk to me. And if not me, any of your classmates. Don’t forget now, okay?”
“I wont! I promise!” He grinned, “It does make me feel better knowing you were scared yesterday too…”
Keri smiled, “I’m glad, I always want you to remember, heroes are just people. You and your classmates got a very real taste of something very scary. You’re all handling it very well. I’m so proud.”
Tenya grinned wider, “Well I will do my best to never let you down, Miss Chairo!”
She chuckled, “Okay Tenya, just try your best… go on back to class now, hm?”
He nodded and bowed, always so formal, “Have a good rest of your day Miss Chairo!” He waved as he left, taking his backpack with him.
After Ida, she had some shorter visits with children who were more or less fine; Mineta, Sato, Shouji, Kaminari, Tokoyami, Hagakure, and Sero. They were very brief, mostly just a yes miss I’m fine, and back to class. She didn’t sense any trauma there.
The only one who came in who needed a little more counseling was the boy Aoyama - he was hiding the entire battle. He felt regret and fear about it. She thought back to what she said to Eijiro - some heroes don’t know how they fit. She’d have to think on how to help this blonde boy.
——
The final face before her lunchtime meeting with Izuku and Toshinori that she saw was the sweet round face of Ochako Uraraka. Keri smiled and took a deep breath, “Good morning Ochako, please come on in!”
The girl grinned, “How are you this morning miss Keri?”
“I’m doing just fine, especially since all of you kids are alright now,” She smiled, “And that Aizawa is even his normal miserable self.”
Ochaco giggled as she sat down on the couch, “I’m glad everyone is okay too… I was really worried about the teachers, but Aizawa, Thirteen and All Might all seem to be okay.”
“Yeah, you all are so resilient, how are you doing?”
“I mean, I’m a little scared but… you know, the teachers and the police are gonna protect us! That’s what they do.” She said hopefully.
Keri smiled, “Yes, they certainly will do their best - but don’t forget Ochaco, you also have to continue to work on getting stronger and having a strategy for when things don’t pan out as you hope.”
She nodded, “Of course Miss Keri,” she hummed, “Uhm - can I ask you a personal question?”
Blinking the woman smiled, “Sure, why not?”
“Mina said she saw you running through the hall and crying yesterday… are, are you okay?”
Keri blushed a little and smiled bashfully, “I was just worried is all, it was a long day, and I had to maintain normalcy for everyone, it just gets to you sometimes.”
“Is it…. Cause of All Might? Cause he was hurt?” Ochaco blushed.
She smiled a little, “Yeah… I was really worried about him. He pushes himself really hard you know? And so does Midoriya.” Her cheeks lit red at the mention of the boy, and Keri smiled, “I’m sure you were worried about Izuku as well?”
“W-well yeah… I mean… he’s my… friend, right? Of course I was…”
“Girl to girl - I think we both had the same worry.” Keri smiled warmly.
Ochaco bit her lip, “I- I mean— I just wanted him to be okay! I mean — you and All Might - well that’s different! I saw you guys in the hall this morning holding hands— Not like, not like I want to hold hands with Deku!”
“Breathe, Ochaco,” Keri smiled, sending soothing energy over her, “You are in a safe place and I do not discuss sessions. Izuku is a handsome young man, and he’s strong and courageous. A lot of the boys in your class are pretty remarkable. There’s nothing to be ashamed of thinking good things about someone you admire… and you’re right, All Might and I were holding hands, we’re just… trying it out, you know?”
“I thought you guys were already dating when I met you.” She blinked.
Keri laughed, “No… no I only met him some months before you all did, I was working here my first year last year, and at the end of the semester, All Might came into my office thinking it was where Principal Nezu was located, and he scared the hell out of me, I’ll tell you.”
Ochaco laughed a bit at that, the heat being taken off of her developing feelings, “How did you get so close?”
She smiled fondly, “Well, he is the Symbol of Peace, right? He’s supposed to be unbreakable, infallible, strong and sturdy and happy — All Might is still a man, like anyone else. He gets scared, and hurt, and upset too. I just offered him someone to talk to.”
“So you’re like, his therapist?”
“More like a friend, he listens to me too,” She smiled, “We just kind of… hit it off I guess. We became really close friends - then we got into a fight before school started. And since we made up, we’ve decided to see if we could be more than friends I guess.” She blushed.
The teen smiled, “Well I hope you guys stay more than friends.”
“Why’s that?”
“Well,” she started, “All Might deserves to have someone he can share his time with - the tabloids have never shown him with anyone. It’s kind of sad if he has to save the world, and he has no one to hold him when he’s sad. Everyone needs someone to hold them up.” Keri smiled fondly at the girl, she was certainly as sweet as Izuku was, “And you’re so nice, Miss Keri - and you always check on us - I mean, you checked on me the day of the entrance exam… you made sure I wasn’t in shock and helped me get to the bathroom when I was queasy. You’re both just… cute together I think.”
Keri smiled, “Well, thank you Ochaco… that’s very nice of you to say. And you’re right, everyone needs someone to hold them up. So don’t be afraid of holding others up if you feel you want to, okay? Let your gut tell you what to do.”
She nodded and smiled, the bell for lunch rang, “Oh! I’m so hungry - I’m going to go meet up with my friends, but thank you for taking care of us, miss Keri.”
Smiling she nodded, “Don’t stop believing in the good things in the world, Ochaco.” Waving as the girl left she sighed and pulled the privacy curtain down, sitting on the sofa with a tired sigh. This was more than she was used to, she was a little tapped out from using her quirk for so long but she could bear up alright with some tea and food.
--
She jumped when the door suddenly flung open, “Hey!” The tall muscular blonde who opened the door cheered, “I am here! With young Midoriya!”
Keri just sighed and nodded, “Hello boys, come on in,” it was unintentionally punctuated with a yawn.
Deki frowned, “Are you alright Miss Chairo?”
Smiling at the green haired boy she nodded, quickly also seeing concern on her boyfriend’s face as he deflated, locking the office door, “Yes yes, just tired. I’ve been using my quirk for hours.”
Toshinori came over to her on the sofa, and he patted his lap, “You’re not overdoing it right? Do you feel nauseous at all? Here - why don’t you lie down here while I speak with young Midoriya? I’m sure a small nap would do you good.”
She blushed, “N- no I’m fine, promise.” If Izuku wasn’t here, she would curl into Toshinori like a tired kitten, but, this was school. No matter how close Toshinori and Izuku were, they are his teachers, “You don’t have to worry so much, I’m fine, honestly. You and Izuku just, talk okay?”
He nodded, “Well- I have a free period after lunch so… offer stands, okay?”
She nodded and went about making tea for her hero and her student, “Let me get some tea going…”
Toshinori looked to Midoriya and he gave a small sigh, “Fifty minutes.”
Keri winced gently at the frankness of her boyfriend’s voice, seemingly unbothered. The two of them had already had this talk, but he had some things to bring to the attention of his protégée.
“H-huh?” Izuku looked shocked, “fifty minutes?!”
Toshinori nodded, “That’s about how long I can use my power now… I overdid it too many times.”
“I’ll say,” Patho chimed in causing a look from both men.
“That Nomu was a real tough customer…” the blonde continued, “it took a lot out of me. At this point I can barely even look like All Might for an hour and a half.”
Izuku looked down at his knees and he grunted softly, “I’m so sorry, I should have just —!”
Toshinori burst into laughter, blood erupting from his mouth as he did so, “You don’t need to apologize for anything!”
“Toshi! Cover your mouth you’re getting blood all over my office!” Keri scolded.
He cleared his throat, using the old stained ladies handkerchief Keri had lended him to hold against his lips, “MAN, we are alike, you and me, kid.”
Keri sighed and came over, setting the tea tray on the little coffee table, “Have some tea, Izuku.”
“Thanks…” he said with a little shock in his voice.
After a pause in the room, she sighed, “I will take a walk, I’ve been cooped up in this room all day, I’d like some air.” She leaned in and kissed Toshinori’s head.
He reached for her hand and kissed it, “Knock the way we talked about when you get back.”
“Yes, Mister number one,” she smirked and waved, “Don’t be too hard on young Izuku now, you already are scaring him spewing blood like a sprinkler.”
“B-bye Miss Chairo.” He stuttered and looked back to All Might.
All Might watched her fondly before turning back to Izuku, “I brought you here to talk about the sports festival…”
--
Keri stepped out of her office and stretched, heading down the hall to the balcony near her and Recovery Girl’s office. She was worried about Toshinori - though when wasn’t she?
“Hello my dear…” the smoky and familiar voice of Midnight cooed from behind her as a hand dragged onto her back, “Going for a walk?”
She jumped slightly, “Ah- Nemuri- Yes… I needed some fresh air, Ive been using my quirk all morning - how did the meeting go?”
“Oh you haven’t been filled in by your man?” She smirked.
Patho blushed, “He is busy speaking with a student right now, I haven’t gotten the chance to ask him yet.”
“Well, All Might went on a big monologue about how this Shigaraki fellow is a spoiled brat - honestly that man is smart. But we don’t know much. Honestly we’re all just worried this is turning the small-time thugs and villains into a team to try and overthrow society.”
Nodding the younger woman took a deep breath, “That’s what I was afraid of too.”
“How are the children, though?”
Looking up she nodded, “They’re doing okay. Some of them are a little shaken up, especially Tenya Ida, but most of them just kind of put their trust in us and the school to continue to protect them, bu they know they have to work hard to be stronger. Best case scenario, really.”
Nemuri took a deep breath, “And how is All Might?”
“Well… you know him, he blames himself for not being there from the start. We were talking last night I had to kind of make him snap out of it, that self-deprecating hole he gets himself into.” She sighed.
“Last night?” She smirked.
“Oh- uh,” Keri blushed, “Toshinori stayed at my place last night, to get some actual rest.”
A grin spread over Midnight’s face, “So, there’s something I’ve been DYING to know…” Looking at her with skeptical eyes, Keri waited for her two continue, “Is All Might’s manhood bigger when he’s All Might?”
Keri sputtered, inhaling a breath and coughing wildly as she held to her chest, “NEMURI!”
“What! Inquiring minds want to know, Patho.” She purred.
Wiping her lips she shook her head, face furiously red, forehead glowing, “W-we haven’t— we’ve only kind of made out! We’re taking things slow! Oh my god why are you even thinking about his — his —“
“His cock?”
Keri started glowing, visibly shaken by this line of questioning, “MIDNIGHT PLEASE.” She groaned, “Why do you do this to me!”
“Because honey, you’re just so innocent about it all,” She gasped, “WAIT - are you a a virgin….”
Patho was still glowing as waves of embarrassment flooded the hallways, “What! N- no! No I’m not okay! I’ve been with someone!”
Putting her hands on her hips, midnight huffed, “I don’t believe you. I want a name.”
“Oh my god you don’t have to believe me!” She sighed and ran a hand over her face, trying to calm down, “Taishiro Toyomitsu.”
Midnight blinked for a few moments and then she held up her arms, “Am I supposed to know who that is?”
She groaned, “The hero Fatgum?? His name is Taishiro.”
“FATGUM? Are you serious? When? How long?”
“We met when I was in college okay! We dated for three years. It just didn’t work out, we were too different and he was just really committed to being a hero, and I was too committed to being a therapist.” She sighed, “Happy now?”
“Does All Might know?”
Blushing Patho shook her head, “No, and I don’t want to talk about past stuff with him yet. He’s really self conscious and he’s too sweet to admit it but he gets jealous I think. I don’t know, I just want him to be assured in how I feel before we go into our pasts.”
The older woman’s face softened, “You really do love him, don’t you.”
“I… I mean,” She took a deep breath, “Yes, I love him - I’m crazy about him. He’s the most wonderful man in the world and I just want to take care of him.”
She smiled, “I’m glad. I used to see girls he’d have flings with… most of them were fame whores or gold diggers, you know. And Toshinori is just too nice to understand sometimes.”
“I know he is. He thinks the world is a great place full of good people. He gets taken advantage of, but he never complains.”
Midnight hugged the girls shoulders, “He deserves someone like you, Keri, truly, someone who really does care.”
“Thanks Nemuri, you’re a great friend when you’re not being a pervert.” She laughed.
Midnight smirked, “Well listen honey, when you find out the answer to my question, I want to know,” She smirked, “Gotta run! Time to teach, kisses!”
Keri slapped her forehead and groaned, “I need to go lay down.”

The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen.
CHAPTER TWO: A PHONE CALL IS HERE!
Walking into the school the next morning a familiar slinky figure came up beside Keri, “So, I heard from Nezu that you ran into Toshinori Yagi yesterday afternoon…”
Keri’s chest momentarily tightened and she cleared her throat, “Yeah, he thought my office was the principals is all.” Her grip on her backpack tightened, “Anyways, I’m supposed to teach the kids about bullying at a general assembly today while he has a meeting with the teachers—“
“Hold on Patho- that’s not the only thing I heard.”
“What… do you mean?” She said with honest confusion.
Grinning she ran her hand on Patho’s shoulders, “I heard you got his phone number.”
Visibly prickling she looked up at her, “What is the principal the biggest gossip in the world?!”
Laughing, Midnight winked, “No- he didnt tell me anything other than he was in your office, but I figured I’d see if I could weasel anything out of you… so— have you guys sexted?”
“NO!” Keri shouted- Aizawa calling across the hall for her to shut up so he could sleep in peace. Shrinking she sighed, “I haven’t texted him yet to let him have my number. Thats so weird, right? To have All Might’s telephone number.”
“Oh honey, we all have his number. Pro heroes need to be able to get in touch with one another!”
Her cheeks flushed harder, “Yeah…. That makes sense.”
“Poor little Patho… so lovesick.”
“Oh my god Nemuri, I’m going to die because of you one of these days.”
She laughed, before purring, “Text him.” With a wave of her arm she passed into the teachers office as Keri continued toward the administration floor. Running her hand in her hair she pulled out her phone, looking at the entry of his contact she had made - immediately after receiving his number- it was his name; Toshinori, to keep incognito to anyone who might steal her phone. Though she did put a star next to it. All Might. Her childhood hero. On her phone. Making a few drafts of a text message, she decided against it, tucking the phone away to prepare for some early morning counseling, and then the assembly.
——————
Around eleven in the morning, Toshinori stood in Nezu’s office, already in his weakened form. The principal took a sip of his tea and watched with amusement as the number-one-hero squirmed uncomfortably in the small chair, “So… how does it feel to be back?”
“Weird,” He confessed, taking a deep breath, “So much has changed - but, so much is the same… I’m the most different I guess.”
Nezu chuckled and sighed, pushing a mug of tea toward All Might, “You already know a lot of the teachers and staff here from Hero work correct? It’s mainly just letting them in on how they can help you to hide your secret?”
Running his deft fingers on the side of the cup, he nodded, “Yeah, the only one I didn’t know too well was your Guidance Councilor - but I already met her yesterday.”
“Oh?” He smiled, “What do you think of her?”
Toshinori nodded a few times, “I don’t think she likes me.” Nezu began to laugh, and just when Toshi thought he would stop laughing, he continued to laugh, “Sir, that’s not… a joke.”
“Oh please, All Might, everyone likes you. I meant what did you think of her as our guidance counselor! I think you’ve worked with her before. — By the way, why do you think she doesn’t like you?”
He cracked his neck briefly, “Oh— well she’s a great support hero. She’s very sincere, and her ability to put people at ease probably makes her really excel at helping the students and teachers here…” He paused, “I gave her my phone number, told her to text me so I’d have hers… she hasn’t.”
Chuckling again, Nazo sipped his tea, “Well, she is your junior, and you are the number one hero in Japan. Honestly, I’m surprised she didn’t die of shock.”
“I guess… that’s fair,” All might said softly.
“I mean she’s in her office preparing for the General Assembly now I’m sure. You could go speak with her if you wish- you have some time.”
He blinked and smiled, “Yeah. That sounds nice.”
“Off you go then, be back in an hour please!”
A cloud of smoke appeared as she shining symbol of peace stood there all big and bulky, “YES SIR.” Clearing his throat he looked both ways out of Nezu’s office before starting to walk down the hallway.
“Hi there, Toshi.” The voice of midnight came purring behind him. “AH- NEMURI — DIDN’T SEE YOU THERE.”
The woman laughed gently, “Where are you off to? I was just coming to see if you had arrived yet, and I find you leaving?”
“OH I… WAS GOING TO VISIT THE GUIDANCE OFFICE.” He smiled.
Midnight smirked devilishly, “Going to see you girlfriend?”
“GIRLFR— WHAT?” He started to visibly sweat, “I BARELY KNOW HER — NEZU RECOMMENDED I GO HAVE A CHAT — UH— ABOUT THE ASSEMBLY! IN CASE SHE NEEDED ANY POINTERS!”
“Of course he did.” She smirked, “Well she’s sweet on you, you know.”
He coughed up blood then, taken off guard so fast, covering his mouth quick with his hand he grunted, “SHE’S A YOUNG WOMAN AND I WOULD NEVER THINK TO— TO — I GOTTA GO. I WILL SEE YOU AT THE LUNCH MEETING, NEMURI.”
Midnight cackled to herself as he high tailed it toward your office, “This is delicious.”
Tumblr media
Coming in he pushed his back against the door as he panted, slowly turning into his small-might form. The hand over his mouth was dripping blood.
Keri turned to see who came in and she gasped, “Toshi!” She jumped up and grabbed her handkerchief, rushing over to him, “Oh my gosh are you alright? Did something happen?” She placed a warm hand on his small bicep, her quirk already pumping out calming energy on instinct.
He smiled and took the handkerchief, “You really have a great quirk.”
Her cheeks reddened and she cleared her throat, “I’ll go get a wet washcloth okay? Come and sit down — do you want anything to drink? Water? Tea?”
All Might moved to pull the privacy shade down over the glass in the door, so no kids saw him like this, and then he walked toward her lounge, “Water would be nice, thanks.”
After a few minutes she came back with a glass of water and a warm washcloth, “Are you sure you’re alright? That was a lot of blood.”
“I’m used to it,” He smiled sadly, cleaning himself up, “Thank you… no one usually is this kind to me.”
“Well I don’t like that… that you’re used to coughing up blood.”
Taking a deep breath he wiped off his lips and chin with the washcloth, his eyes moving to the ruined cloth over his knee, “I’ve ruined your handkerchief,” he frowned at the flowery handkerchief with a K on the corner.
“Oh please, Toshinori… you are more important than a handkerchief.” Something about that sentiment made him blush, and Keri smiled, “What were you running from when you came in here?”
He cleared his throat, swallowing some water, “Nemuri.”
She laughed, “I understand… I did that this morning. She’s nice but… gosh is she sexual.”
“Yeah… sexual.” He repeated, cheeks reddening as he thought about what she said —She’s sweet on you, you know — maybe as All Might, but never as weak Toshinori Yagi, “Hey— can I ask you a question?”
“Sure.” She shrugged, fixing her tea how she liked it.
“How come you… didn’t text me?”
Her cheeks flushed bright red and she almost dropped the sugar bowl, “Oh— oh uhm, just… I couldn’t think of what to say.”
His eyebrows knitted, “Well… you could just… quickly call right now so I can have your number?”
Keri nodded, “S-sure.” Taking out her phone she dialed Toshinori ——
A PHONE CALL IS HERE!!
A PHONE CALL IS HE—
“Ack— I thought I silenced that.” All Might turned the volume off. After a few seconds, the guidance counselor burst out laughing, “Uh- what’s so funny, Patho?”
“Oh my god! You’re your own ringtone!!”
He flushed red, “Is… that…. bad?”
“No! Oh gosh that’s so cute! Of course you have you as your ringtone!”
Cute? Toshinori smiled a little, “Yeah… I guess I should change it by now but—“
“Oh no— no please don’t change it.” She smiled, calming down and catching her breath she leaned her chin on her palm, “You’re so adorable, Toshinori.”
“That’s not an adjective I’ve been called in this form before,” He smiled nervously.
Knitting her eyebrows together again she frowned, “Thats ridiculous.”
“What?”
“You’re All Might… everything about you is adorable.” She admitted softly, “You’re still Toshinori, no matter if you’re all muscles or small muscles… you can’t let your self worth hinge on what other people think of you, although I can’t imagine how hard that must be for you. You’ve been in the public eye for almost thirty years.”
“Yeah… I know I’m old.”
Sighing she tilted her head, “Have you ever considered seeing a therapist, Toshi?”
“Well… no… it hasn’t ever crossed my mind.”
Moving a little closer to him, she sandwiched the hand not holding the bloody cloth with her own, “You do so much for everyone. All Might is infallible- right? The symbol of peace, the hero of heroes. Everyone loves you — but what about Toshinori Yagi? As amazing as you are, you’re only a man.”
All Might looked down at their hands and he felt… tears pooling in his eyes.
Keri continued, comforting touches stroking over his hand, “You’re a man with a huge burden on his shoulders, you don’t want to let everyone down, and now you’re hurt, and you’re more afraid of letting everyone down — am I right?”
He let his head hang and he let the cloth drop, his other hand coming a top hers, “More than you could ever know…” How her quirk made him feel - safe, warm, comforted - he wanted to melt into her, cry, be vulnerable. Clearing his throat, “You’re certainly a great therapist… These future heroes are lucky…”
“Toshi…”
“Mmm?”
She smirked, “You’re avoiding.”
He met her eyes and smiled, “Would you… counsel me? This fall when I start working here?”
“Well, you have my number right? Any time this summer you need to talk, I’ll be here for you.”
“But— that’s your free time—“
“You’re All Might. You are the greatest hero in the world… I will make any time for you, as you have devoted all your time to us.”
His eyes finally gave in and misted over, his winning smile returned as a tear slid down his cheek, “You are the kindest person I have ever met, Patho… thank you.”
She gently rubbed his hand, she was shocked the pro hero was crying, although she would never let him know it. That wouldn’t be productive as someone who is there to counsel and comfort,  “It’s going to be all right, All Might….”
“And- if there’s anything I can do for you, if there’s any time you need someone to listen — I’m here too, okay? Two way street.” He nodded.
“Does this make us friends?” She chuckled gently, the clock chimed twelve.
He puffed into his hero form, and beamed, still holding her hands, “OF COURSE WE’RE FRIENDS!”
She laughed and pulled back to stand, he followed suit, “You know… you’re the tallest person I’ve ever seen in either form…” “WELL… I HAVE GOOD GENES I GUESS.” He laughed.
Keri chuckled and sighed, “I saw you in public once you know, when I was in high school.” He turned, looking a little more somber, “I went to Ketsubutsu Academy, and when I was seventeen, they had a reveal for you to unveil your bronze age costume. I felt so absolutely in awe to be so close to you.”
Toshinori smiled more softly, “How do you feel now?” It wasn’t really what he meant to ask, but it just had come out.
Looking up at him she smiled, “I don’t know… Calm.”
“Hm…”
Reaching out she gently rubbed his back, “Come on now, my new found friend, you have to go face the music with the other teachers, and I have to tell the kids about the horrors of bullying.” Turning to go collect the flash drive for her power point, he called out.
“Keri?”
She turned and smiled, “Hm?”
“Would you go to dinner with me tonight? I mean — if you don’t mind me going in my weaker form.”
Smiling she nodded, “I’d love to — and stop differentiating between your two forms, I’m happy to be with you any way you happen to show up, hm?”
“Okay— I’ll try!” He chuckled, “TEXT ME YOUR ADDRESS I WILL PICK YOU UP AT EIGHT.”
And with that, he once again — dramatically — exited the office. Keri chuckled, somehow, it didn’t seem so strange anymore. Sure, he was still her hero but… something had shifted in a far away place.

ALL RIGHT, ALL MIGHT: CH. 1
Word Count: 1,720
Rating: PG (mention of something filthy)
Painting: Toshinori Yagi X FemOC
The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen.
------------
CHAPTER ONE: BIRTHDAYS
Typing on her computer, Keri Chairo worked on updating a few student’s files, getting ready for the summer break. Humming softly, she was interrupted by the placement of a cupcake on the desk- turning her head, happy to see Midnight there, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATHO!!!” She wrapped her arms around Keri’s neck and she grinned, “Oh our young hero is growing up, Aizawa!” Keri blushed furiously and coughed, “My birthday isn’t until Saturday, Nemuri—“
Midnight just laughed and pinched her cheek, “Yeah but you’re SO cute when you’re all flustered!!”
Aizawa chuckled, “Okay come on Midnight we want her to come back in the fall... why don’t you save your affections for tomorrow?”
Looking back toward him, Keri blinked, “What’s tomorrow?”
“Oh, we have to quote, unquote,” he made the motion with his fingers, “Talk to the new teacher starting in the fall about how we run things around here. No ones supposed to know he’s here.”
Midnight clasped her hands together and fawned softly, “Such a good reason to save my affections…”
“Know that... who’s here?” Keri looked to him.
Aizawa pulled his hair back into a ponytail, “All Might.”
Gasping and almost falling backwards out of her computer chair Keri remained quiet as Midnight laughed. She couldn’t help but grin wildly as she felt the other woman’s quirk creep into her, “Ooh Aizawa- I think someone has a crush on All Might—“
“Who doesn’t have a crush on All Might.” He grunted, annoyed, “Curb your fan girl feelings please, Patho. I have a class to teach.”
She flushed harder and nodded, her forehead slowly stopping its glow, “Oh god- I’m so sorry Aizawa.”
“It’s also his birthday on Sunday!” Midnight chirped, “So if you wanted to start off in a good foot... maybe you should get him a present! Oh my gosh! Your birthday is Saturday, Keri! You and All Might are practically birthday twins!” Clapping she hummed softly into her ear, “I can help you with what an older man like All Might would like—“
Keri put her hands up between her ear and Midnight, face scarlet red, “I don’t want to know what you’re going to say! Just- I’ll be here working anyway it’s not like I’ll see him! I’m just the guidance counselor!”
Raising an eyebrow Aizawa groaned, “Well, Keri, he’s going to be our coworker now so... you’re going to have to try and compose yourself and work with him.
She started to protest, “Aizawa I’m a professional—“
He just cut her off, “Now blow out your candle, and make a wish, lunch is almost over.”
She leaned in and blew out the candle and turned, bowing, “Thank you Eraser, Midnight... it means a lot to me that you remembered my birthday... I’m truly grateful, and I’m happy for your friendship.” Smiling at them they both gave her a warm smile in return. They each hugged her (some more than others) and waved before going back to their classrooms.
Keri sighed and pushed her long hair back. It was shaved on one side, down to her mid hack on the other, “Im so lucky to have such nice coworkers. I’m so lucky I get to be friends with such famous heroes.” She smiled and pushed the candle-crowned cupcake to the side for now to keep typing.
—————————
A few hours went by, she’d had some counseling appointments that went relatively well. And as she was winding down for the end of the day, thinking a little more about Midnight’s proposal for what an older man would like when— suddenly—
“EXCUSE ME?” A booming voice sounded behind her, “IS THIS WHERE I CAN FIND PRINCIPAL NEZU?”
She felt the color drain from her face as she realized who was behind her. Turning in her chair she saw him- he was in civilian clothes- he wasn’t supposed to be here until tomorrow???
When she didn’t answer, and only stared, he cleared his throat, “ARE YOU ALRIGHT MISS?”
“Y-yes.” Keri nodded, “Yes! I’m fine- my apologies, sir. Lost in my head- Um, Principa —”
“HA HA HA! SIR, YOU DON’T HAVE TO CALL ME SIR!” She felt panic bubble up in her chest, he was approaching her now- holding out his hand, “TOSHINORI IS THE NAME. YOU MUST BE PATHO- THE SUPORT HERO!”
The next thing she knew, she was shaking hands with All Might himself, and his name was Toshinori- what a beautiful name— And he knows her, “You- you know /me/?”
Another booming laugh came from his mouth, kids began to look in through the window in the door, chattering that All Might was here, “OF COURSE I KNOW WHO YOU ARE! YOU HAVE THE UNCANNY ABILITY TO KEEP PEOPLE CALM! YOU’VE BEEN STATIONED AT A FEW OF MY CRIME SCENES!”
“Well -yeah... I have... I just.... didn’t think you’d ever notice.”
His grin faded into a sincere smile, leaning a little too close for comfort, “Every one of us in this school is a hero, besides why wouldn’t I notice when someone comes to help?”
A deep shaky breath was her first response, and then she put a composed smile on her face, “My name is Keri, by the way. It’s an honor to meet you, Toshinori.”
“The honor is mine! It’s really very nice to meet you instead of watching you work from afar- your quirk is fascinating!” He nodded and as she tried to come up with something else to say, All Might pointed toward the cupcake Midnight and Eraser head had given her, “Hey- is today your birthday?”
Biting her lip she shook her head, “Oh no— Saturday is my birthday. Aizawa and Nemuri remembered a little early…”
He beamed, “SUNDAY IS MY BIRTHDAY, WERE PRACTICALLY BIRTHDAY TWINS!”
Keri couldn’t help the blush that crept to her cheeks as she smiled brightly, his childlike enthusiasm was infectious., “Happy early birthday then, All Might.”
“Happy early birthday to you, Miss Keri.” He smiled again.
Taking another deep breath, less shaky this time, she finally shook the shock of being In the presence of her personal hero. Clearing her throat, she began, “By the way— Principal Nezu’s office is down the hall- this is the guidance office. Aizawa told me you would be here tomorrow, not today.”
He chuckled, “Tomorrow I’m going to be discussing some things with the other teachers during a lunch meeting... “ he turned around, seeing the hall finally cleared, “But I’m meeting with Nezu today, to discuss my employment here this fall... so I guess you and I will be coworkers here as well as on the field of battle!”
Smiling brighter, Keri nodded, “Well it’s an honor.” She smiled demurely, “You’re my favorite hero- don’t tell any of the others, they might get jealous.”
Toshinori laughed softly and finally sat down beside her, his large form dwarfing the chair he sat in that was normally reserved for students, “So I suppose I should give you a preview of what the other teachers will know tomorrow.”
“That’s ominous.” She hummed softly as he laughed again.
“This is probably going to be alarming. But please, don’t panic,“ suddenly steam started coming from his body and the woman gasped as suddenly seated in front of her was an emaciated version of Japan’s number one hero.
Blinking a few times she looked confused, “Wait what.”
Biting his lip, he reached up to push some of his hair back, “So... you know how like... guys at the pool suck in their gut and flex? To look all buff? I’m... like that. But I can only do it for so many hours a day so the staff here has to know so they can help me keep the secret.”
“But... have you... always.... uh—“ she didn’t know how to express the bizarre way she felt seeing him like this. She was confused, sure, but more than that she felt... lucky. Lucky to see him like this- to be let into a secret. Suddenly she felt more inspired by him, she felt proud that someone like him would be so brave to fight—  and he touched his chest softly with a smile.
“Is this what pros on the field say your quirk feels like? I feel... inspired.” His smile was warm.
“Shit—“ She put one hand on her forehead, feeling the heat from the pink diamond, “I’m so sorry! Im all over the place today, I’m usually more in control.”
He put his hand over hers on the arm rest, “Don’t worry, Patho, it’s fine! And to answer your question-“ he pulled back and took a breath, “I was in a fight that I almost lost- about five years ago- it left me with one lung and most of my stomach removed.”
“All Might— I — I remember you were away for a while but… Toshinori, that’s… So brave.”
He cleared his throat, a faint blush on his cheeks, “I made sure the world never knew... only a few people know. And now you know.” He smiled a little, sadly, “So I’m counting on your help to keep my secret, hm?”
“I won’t let you down,” she felt he was more like a normal man than he wanted to admit. Reaching to put her hand over his this time, she smiled, “Were going to be coworkers, right? We have to stick together! Besides- at least thanks to you I won’t be the newbie anymore.” Her small smile turned into a smirk.
He grinned, “I can see why Nezu trusts you, Patho. I look forward to us working together to help mold the heroes of the future-“ With an audible POOF suddenly a big muscled All Might was in front of you, “NOW I HAVE FO GO FIND PRINCIPAL NEZU. MAYBE WE CAN GO TO LUNCH SOMETIME— SO UH— YOU CAN TELL ME HOW THIS LOT HAZES THEIR NEW TEACHERS!” Suddenly he wrote out his number on a piece of paper, “HERE IS MY NUMBER! MAKE SURE TO TEXT ME YOURS.”
Keri blushed and smiled, “Keep it down, hm? You’re going to let the whole school know you’re here, Toshinori.”
“YES... YOU’RE PROBABLY RIGHT... I’LL SEE YOU AROUND.”
And with that, All Might left the guidance office, and Keri snatched up the paper. Tears spilled over her eyes and she quickly wiped them away, “He really is amazing…”

All Right, All Might: Ch. 7
Word Count: 3,128
Rating: PG
Painting: Toshinori Yagi X FemOC
The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen. With the attack at the USJ over, what becomes of the friendship between Patho and All Might?
CHAPTER SEVEN: Don’t push your limits, Toshinori
“Hello miss, I’m Naomasa Tsukauchi,” he held out his hand to the woman, “its nice to meet you in person, Patho, but I wish it were under better circumstances.”
The woman shook his hand, “You… know of me?”
“Well of course I do, you’re a pro hero - not to mention Toshinori is my best friend.”
She blinked a few times, “Best friend— ah- listen, I don’t mean to be… but what about the kids?”
He nodded, “The rest of the force is heading over to the USJ now, but I wanted to ask you to accompany me to the USJ, I know you’re the guidance counselor. And I have some questions since you’re here.”
“Sure- sure of course Detective,” She blinked a few times again, walking with him to his cruiser and getting into the passenger seat - how could Toshinori have a best friend on the police force and not tell her?
He smiled warmly, trying to put her at ease, holding a hand to her arm, “Please, call me Tsukauchi.”
She nodded again, “What do you need to know, Tsukauchi?”
They started speeding toward the USJ campus, “How much do you know about what happened?”
“Not much, I was with Toshinori this morning- he was late to work, he — ah, he was…”
Tsukauchi gave a small smile, “I know about him, and One for All - you can talk freely with me, Keri.”
“O-oh,” she wet her lips and blushed, “He used too much of his strength, and Nezu had come into my office to give him a lecture. He was supposed to be at the USJ earlier… when I went wandering around wasting time I went out for a walk and that’s when young Tenya Ida ran up and alerted me to the situation. I didn’t get much out of him it all happened too fast.” Turning her head she saw a few ambulances rush by, eyebrows knitting together in panic.
“I wanted you to accompany me to bring some comfort to the kids.”
“Of course,” She watched as another ambulance sped by, “Do you know anything yet?”
“Not yet.”
She nodded, wringing her hands together, trying to compose herself.
The car skidded up to the USJ and both adults got out of the car. Keri ran over to where the kids had been gathered, her forehead and body already glowing, “Are you all alright!?” She called out.
“Miss Chairo!” Ochaco gasped, “Y-yeah we’re mostly all okay—“
“Where’s Tenya?” She said softly. Ochaco pointed, he looked to be fine, he was talking to Tsukauchi at the moment she sighed, “I’m the one who found Tenya first, I wanted to know he made it back here alright with the teachers.”
Keri made her rounds with the students, giving them all supportive touches and kind words — well, all except to Katsuki who she told he did a great job instead. But she could tell even he was shaken up, he didn’t use his usual insults.
Tsukauchi finally came over with the list of students, going over each one, “Everyone seems to be here, and uninjured.”
“What about Mister Aizawa?!” The girl named Tsu jumped forward.
“And Thirteen!?” Mina, stood forward to ask as well.
“And Deku!?”
“Yes— Midoriya—“ Ida chimed in.
Keri looked up at Tsukauchi, wanting to know the answers as well.
“Aizawa is in the hospital now, no brain damage apparent, but his bones in his arms are splintered and one of his eye-sockets is also shattered… we don’t know how his vision will heal in his recovery. As for Thirteen - apart from some lacerations on her back, she’ll make a full recovery,” the detective paused a moment, “Oh— Izuku, he is in Recovery Girl’s office, that should be all the care he needs, and he’ll be good as new.”
“What about All Might?” Keri’s voice cooed gently.
Tsukauchi smiled a little, “He’s in the nurses office as well, he’ll be fine.” The kids all breathed a sigh of relief, “Now, I’m going to head to the main campus, I want to speak with All Might — Patho, can you handle everything here?”
She nodded, “Of course, Tsukauchi.” Turning to all of the kids she gave a small smile, “Come on, lets all get back on the bus and head back to the school, I’m sure you’re all exhausted and ready to call it a day…”
—————
Toshinori clutched his fist and smiled, “Mark my words, these kids are going to be GREAT heroes...”
Deku beamed, wiping his eyes on his arm, he was about to say something else to the detective, until…
“Toshi!?” A woman’s voice, full of concern rang through the doorway as it almost burst open. Tears streamed down her face as she stood there looking in at her coworker covered in bandages, she was finally able at the end of this long day to come and see him. She had been so worried- even though she knew he was alright. She had been distracted with taking charge of the kids and the end of the school day to seek him out yet.
Recovery Girl looked up, “Keri—! Come now-  there’s no need to burst in here like that! Keep your voice down please,” She sighed, shaking her head. She knew she would be seeing Patho sooner or later, All Might was here, and injured after all.
There was no stopping her, she rushed to his bedside and under the surprised glances of the three others in the room, Keri sobbed as she collapsed by the side of him, crying in his lap, “Oh Toshinori— thank god you’re okay!! I was so worried!”
For a moment he was floored- no one had ever acted like this for him before. He felt the familiar nagging feeling bubble up in his chest as he gently pulled up her chin, ‘Hey.. hey… come here,” He helped her to her feet and wrapped his arms around her crying form. She was so warm, so kind, so concerned- just for him. With her, he could always find a reason to smile, “Hey now...” he lifted her chin once more and wiped tears from her cheek with his other hand, “What’s with the waterworks now, Ree? This old man’s just fine...”
She looked at him with a trembling lip, “I-I’m sorry I— Tsukauchi said you were here and you were injured... I got here as soon as I possibly could!”
“It’s okay, it’s okay Keri I promise.” He pulled her into another hug, “I’m alright, I’m right here. You can’t get rid of me that easy.”
Recovery Girl cleared her throat, Tsukauchi turned to speak to her in the other room, but Deku, who was bed-bound for the time being, watched as the two people he trusted most, embraced. His eyebrows knitted for a moment as he realized that All Might was gingerly stroking her hair and whispering in her ear. As the two adults shared in this intimate moment, he realized that their bond was more than friendship.
All Might, his mentor, whether he knew it or not- loved the woman in his arms.
Izuku’s highly logical skills of observation had finally put the pieces together. All Might kept insisting they were friends. Yet, he always had his hands on her, or his body tilted toward her. She knew everything about him, they were often together. They ate lunch together during break. Whenever his phone rang, and it was her, he grinned. He always remembered to bring her little snacks she liked to school. These were all the behaviors of a devoted boyfriend in Izuku’s mind.
The boy stared at Patho and All Might as they continued to embrace. He hummed gently and looked out the window, had they been secretly together all this time?
“Ree... I know you’re worried, but shouldn’t you be consoling the kids? They need it more than I do—“
She shook her head, “I’ve been substituting for Aizawa for the rest of the day, helping the kids and getting them set to change and get some food and get home. I told Nezu I’m going to start their counseling tomorrow, besides I— I couldn’t focus anymore on anything without seeing you Toshi.”
All Might blushed fiercely and he pushed her hair back, “I don’t deserve how much you care...”
Keri frowned, “You deserve it more than most. Besides... you’re my— best friend.” Izuku noticed there was a hesitation in her voice— she had to love All Might.
Sighing he smiled in defeat and wiped her cheeks again, “You’re my best friend too, but I’m gonna need you to pull it together okay? Young Midoriya shouldn’t see his guidance counselor crying.” He smirked, deflecting.
Blushing she swatted All Might’s hands away as she wiped her face and went over to Deku’s bed, “How are you doing, Izuku?? I’m so so happy you’re alright.” She smiled and Deku immediately felt a calming warmth over him.
“Im okay Miss Chairo, promise.”  He gave a sleepy smile, “Don’t worry about us, we’re heroes! Right, All Might??”
“That’s right, young Midoriya!” He grinned.
Patho let out an exasperated sigh and stroked Deku’s hair back, “You two are going to give me a nervous breakdown, you know that? You’ve been doing it for months now, and with your track record, it will probably get worse.”
The three of them laughed and carried on for a while longer before Patho was told she needed to let Deku get some rest so he could go home in a bit. She kissed Izuku on the top of his head and as she left, he saw her and All Might brush fingers.
Patho spoke quietly to Recovery Girl and then left with Tsukauchi.
All might watched her leave before laying back down with a grunt.
——
Tsukauchi looked over to her once they were outside, and he took a deep breath, “So… how long have you been in love with Toshinori?”
Her cheeks flushed a bright red, her body glowing pink instantly as she looked up, “Tsukauchi—! W-we just met— That’s a really forward question!”
He shrugged, “He’s my best friend, and he’s never talked to me to a woman before you. I see the way you look at him and tend after him. He even talks about how you make sure he eats and sleeps regularly - and how you are trying to make him realize his weaker form is beautiful as it is…” He wet his lips, “Something is going on.”
“So what is this conversation exactly…? A dissuasion?”
He chuckled, “No of course not… Toshinori needs someone to make him take care of himself, and to care for him the way he cares for others… no matter what comes of you two, I’m thankful you’ve been looking out for our number one hero, Keri.”
She nodded and smiled, “I’ve been in love with him since the day I first saw him when I was six years old… but a lot of people love him.”
“You know… I didn’t expect such deflection from a therapist.” Tsukauchi smirked.
Keri rolled her eyes, blushing, “Fine. He asked me to dinner the second day we met, and he’s just… he’s so much more than All Might. Not that All Might isn’t amazing! But… Toshinori… he’s so,” she paused for a second and felt her throat tighten, “He’s warm, and he’s generous, and he believes in a better future. Even when he’s melancholy he still has a childlike wonder!  I even think it’s funny how much he loves American movies and TV…”
Tsukauchi smiled brighter, “Yep. He needs someone like you.”
Keri looked up and just smiled a little, “Don’t say anything to Toshi?”
“Don’t worry, I’m not a tattletale.” He laughed and sighed, “He’ll probably be coming down soon, maybe he’ll need a calming presence when he does.” He winked and walked off toward his car with a wave, “Take care Keri.”
“Bye, Tsukauchi! Take care!” She waved and took a deep breath, pushing her long hair back, looking up to where the recovery office was before taking a seat on the front steps of the school.
——
Deku looked over and bit his lip, “All Might?” When he looked over, Deku cleared his throat, “Um... are you and.... Miss Chairo- dating?”
“Huh?!” The pro shot back up, “No— no? No! No...” he exhausted tones of voice before blushing and coughing up some blood, “She’s my friend! That’s all, young Modoriya. She’s a really, really good friend.”
He swallowed, “Oh… well okay, it’s just, you two are always together, and when you aren’t you’re always in contact. And you... introduced me to her before the entry exam…”
“BECAUSE SHE’S A GREAT ALLY IZUKU.” His cheeks were redder.
“No I know she is! She’s a great person! When we talk she’s always kind and helpful. I just.... the way you are together, and how she knows your secret, and about me… I just thought maybe it was a secret relationship?”
He pushed his hair back, “A-ah yes, well— No- no we’re friends! Besides I’m old enough to be her father so that’s just… ridiculous.” He laughed it off.
“All Might?” Recovery Girl came back into the room, “You should be healed enough to head home and rest- Izuku, it’ll be a couple more hours for your legs, dear.”
Toshinori nodded and slowly got out of bed, giving a manly thumbs up to Deku before he returned it with a smile. He took a deep breath, all the students should be gone by now.
Walking out of the front door in his small might form, he looked up at the sunset in the sky, the echo of Midoriya’s words in his ears; are you and Miss Chairo dating? He had not been the first to ask him a question like that. Maybe… maybe there could be something.
“Hey,” A familiar female voice called out softly, “Taking a risk walking out here looking like that, huh?”
Toshinori turned abruptly and then smiled in surprise, “Hey, Ree. Can’t be helped, I got an empty tank… What are you doing here?”
“I stuck around in case you got released,” she blushed, “I needed to be with you.”
Without thinking, he crossed to her and pulled her close, a sigh of relief leaving his lips, “I need to be with you right now, too.” He whispered.
“Come home with me tonight, you need to sleep in a real bed instead of that horrible futon you own for some God forsaken reason. Besides, then I can make sure you’re actually taking care of yourself instead of eating junk food and overdoing it.” She huffed.
Grinning he took a moment to cherish this. Maybe... maybe he did sort of love her. Not sort of. He did. He loved her.
Keri buried her face into his small but firm chest. Her heart ached to be like this always. The strangest thing was that, after today, she was even more attracted to him when he was small might. His heroic qualities shined through his blue eyes, his voice was like rough silk, so unsure of himself and sure about everything at once, “Gonna answer me?”
Toshinori smiled, “I accept.”
——
The walk back to her apartment near campus was a quiet one. After a few blocks she cleared her throat, “Toshi… you know that you— can’t keep going like this.”
He knit his brows together and looked over, there was a pit in his stomach, “What? Going like what?”
“You’re not strong enough to keep jumping in front of everyone like this anymore! First this morning draining all your energy - then, God, Toshi, this afternoon?”
“Keri, come on now,” His tone was soft and he turned his body to face her.
“No! You have to listen to me!” She stopped on the sidewalk and her hands flew up to her eyes, she was desperately trying to hide her tears from him, rub them away, she’d already cried too much today, “Your heart has never faltered, never, not once! You are good, and kind, and honest, and true- but your body, Toshi, your body is faltering!” She let out a choked sob, “I can’t lose you!” She blurted out.
“Hey, hey—“ he swiftly came to her and wrapped his bandaged limbs around her, holding her close, he felt terribly that he was causing her so much pain. This reminded him exactly why he never got married or into a committed relationship. Stroking her hair she cried into his baggy shirt, his own eyes pricked with tears as she began to glow pink. He could feel her sorrow, “Please- please, baby, don’t cry...” he cooed softly. The pet name failing to reach either person’s brain, “I’m just fine... I promise..”
“THIS time,” she looked up at him, cheeks red, long hair sticking to her tear stained face, “THIS time you’re fine! What about next time! Or, or the time after that!”
All Might took a deep breath, “Listen to me Keri. Please? I need to do what I’m meant to do. You need to understand that, you need to. To /know/ that I /need/ to be this,” Pushing her hair aside he caught her chin to tilt her to look at him, “I was like Midoriya,” he admitted, “I was born without a quirk. And eventually the power I passed down /will/ leave me. And I /will/ be a quirkless, scrawny, old man. You gotta understand, I /gotta/ be All Might for as long as I’m able to be. I have to protect those kids, I have to protect Japan, I have to protect you, Keri. Until Izuku is ready,” He took a shaky breath, “Do you understand?”
The light of the setting sun danced across his features. He looked like a towering sunflower in the wind. She thought about what she had admitted to his friend Tsukauchi. She couldn’t be selfish enough to try to derail his life’s passion for her feelings. Taking her own shaking breath she nodded, “I understand.”
“Things will be different one day,” he started, “And when they are— when they are we can talk about it then.” He picked up her hand and kissed the back of it tenderly.
Keri wasn’t sure what that meant, but it was enough. She gave him a nod and took his large hand in her own, holding it to her cheek, a thumb came to brush a tear from her cheek. Turning into his touch she kissed his palm, “Come on, let’s go home, I’ll cook something for you.”
“Home. That sounds, really nice.” When she pulled his hand from her face, he held firm to her hand as they continued the final few blocks to her apartment, lacing their fingers together.

All Right, All Might: Ch.6

The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen. This is the moment when everything starts to go haywire; The attack at the USJ.
CHAPTER SIX: It Started On All Might’s Day Off
“Remind me again why you’re here on your day off instead of resting at home and doing some of the things you say you’re too busy to do? Like get furniture?” Keri quirked her eyebrow at the tall blonde relaxing on her sofa as she typed. The door was locked and the privacy shade was down, “I can’t even see any students while you’re in here like this Tosh.”
All Might frowned, “I brought you lunch… don’t you want to come and eat it before it gets cold?”
The woman looked up and couldn’t help but smile, standing up she stretched, “I guess it is lunch time, and you were sweet enough to bring me lunch.”
“You bring me lunch sometimes.”
“Yeah to your desk when you haven’t left it to eat in hours,” She huffed, “I know you have a hard time getting food to stay down and stuff.” She went over and wrapped her arms around him with a sigh.
He looked down at the crown of her head, “You okay?”
“Yeah, just glad to see you.”
The two adults sat in comfortable silence for a while as he held onto her, stroking her back. Toshinori smiled, he had recently been back in touch with his mentor, Gran Torino- he had to tell him about Izuku, and he might have mentioned something about this woman practically in his lap.
“Toshinori?” She looked up at him.
A blush crept over his cheeks and he tried to look mildly interested, “Hm?”
“Can I ask you something personal?”
“Well— sure you can, I don’t see why not.”
She slid to sit beside him and pushed a hand in her hair, “Have you ever dated a woman?” He started coughing up blood, “Oh shit— Oh god I’m sorry—“
“No- no—“ he wiped at it with the stained handkerchief she’d given him, “I just— no I was always too busy for that. I had a job to do.” He blushed, “Not to say I haven’t… seen my share of action.”
Keri nodded and looked away, “Just wondering.”
Clearing his throat he smiled, “So- want to see what I brought you —“
Cutting All Might off was the sound of a recording;
“WARNING, LEVEL THREE SECURITY BREECH. ALL STUDENTS EVACUATE THE BUILDING IN AN ORDERLY FASHION. WARNING, LEVEL THREE SECURITY BREECH—“
Keri shot up, “What!?” She jumped up and started to move toward the door, “Toshi—“
He stood and bulked up into his muscle form, “WE’LL SEE WHAT’S WRONG.”
Keri rushed into the hallway with All Might, “Stop right there you two.” A calm voice rang out over the emergency message, “The press got past our security.”
“The press?”
“Yes, Patho, the press are here and they want All Might,” He cleared his throat, “Eraserhead and Present Mike are down there telling them its his day /off/.”
Toshinori rubbed the back of his head, “SORRY ABOUT THAT… I UH… WANTED TO BRING MISS CHAIRO SOME LUNCH.”
“Well, as it is, we wouldn’t want the press to get any statements from you anyhow.”
Keri raised her hand, “How did the press even get past the security gate…?”
“Thats exactly what I want to know,” Nezu hummed softly.
Recovery Girl came from her office and sighed, “What’s all this then.”
“Reporters,” Nezu looked up at her, “I’ve already phoned the police.”
Keri turned, “Toshi, you have to get out of here once they’re gone.”
“Tch- You… want me to leave?”
She was embarrassed that she was in front of an audience for this, but all the same, “Its your day off, Toshi. You need to go home and rest, and — and I’ll come over after work and check on you okay?”
He smiled and nodded, “Okay, Ree, you’re right… I do need my rest.”
Nezu cleared his throat, “Now… We need to go down and inspect the gate once the police escort everyone away.”
Keri nodded and then stopped, “Oh my god has anyone checked on the kids?! Do they even know what to do in an emergency like this?” She looked back and then started for the elevator to head down to the cafeteria.
All Might started to run after her, Nezu cleared his throat, “This is her specialty, All Might. Let her handle it.”
The man nodded and scratched the back of his head.
“I know there are no fraternization rules here at UA… but that being said… I can’t have you here distracting Patho while she can be meeting with students…”
“F-fraternization!?”
Nezu blinked, “Staff dating.”
“W-we’re not dating!! We’re friends!” Toshinori burned red, a nagging feeling he had felt before in her presence was bubbling up inside of his chest, “But you are right, I can’t come and interrupt someone during their work day because they are my friend. I’m sorry.”
“Its alright, All Might, no harm done,” Nezu smiled, “Why don’t you wait in her office until the police and the reporters are gone?”
He nodded and went back to sit on the sofa, pulling down the privacy curtain he deflated and ran a hand in his blonde hair, “Why does everyone keep saying we’re dating… Keri couldn’t think of me like that, I’m frail and old - all washed up. And soon I’ll be quirkless. I’m twenty years her senior… she deserves better.”
----
Keri ran down toward the cafeteria where the children were all eating lunch — and it was utter chaos, “Shit—!” She gasped and took a deep breath, her forehead starting to glow a bright pink where she stood in the hallway doors. Looking up she saw him, Tenya ida flying through the air and landing on thee external doors.
“EVERYONE!” He cried out.
“Looks like he needs a support hero,” she smiled a little and her whole body began to glow as it had the previous day on the training field - balls of pink light forming on the ends of her fingertips- extending them toward the students, everything began to slowly quiet down. She concentrated - calming waves started to wash over the stampede of kids until between her quirk, and Tenya’s shouts, they were still.
“IT’S JUST THE MEDIA OUTSIDE!” He called out, he too, felt the calming affect come over him but he couldn’t think of it now, “THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, EVERYTHING’S FINE — WE’RE UA STUDENTS, WE NEED TO REMAIN CALM AND SHOW EVERYONE WE’RE THE BEST OF THE BEST!”
Keri smiled brightly, he had the authority of a great hero. She flexed her fingers open wider and sighs of relief started flooding through the room.
“Wow — did you see that?! That was so manly!” Kirishima shouted.
“Did you notice he looks like the exit sign guy?” Kaminari started laughing.
Deku touched his chest and looked over his shoulder - there at the back of the room stood Patho, glowing pink. He could tell the rest of his classmates were beginning to significantly calm down now.
Police sirens started blaring, “Hey! Its the police!” A girl called out.
“Everyone! If I could have your attention now please!” Keri called out, still glowing. The students turned their heads, “Everyone please return back to lunch time, an announcement will come over when you will be returning to classes!”
Nodding kids started filtering back into the cafeteria to their lunches, while Ururaka started hurrying toward Ida, “That was amazing Ida!” She put her hands together and sighed, “Re… lease!”
Ida fell from the doorway, landing alright on his feet, “I couldn’t have done it without you, Ururaka.” He smiled.
Deku walked up and grinned, “Ida that really was amazing.”
“Yes, Tenya,” Keri said with a smile as she came up behind Deku and Ururaka, “That was really impressive what you did back there.”
“Well I, I know I had your help, miss Chairo.” Tenya blushed a little.
She smiled, “You probably would have been able to command the situation even if I wasn’t here. You were already in the process before I arrived. I just wanted it to go more smoothly. That’s what I’m here for after all.”
Ida smiled, “Thank you… your quirk feels… so strange, I must admit.” He smiled.
Ochaco grinned, “Yeah! Like someone wraps you with a big blanket!”
Keri laughed softly, “Its not the only thing I can make someone feel, but its the most useful I think, now, why don’t you return to your lunches, and try to have a good rest of your day, hm? I’m going to go see to the police.”
“Yes Miss Chairo!” Ida smiled and ushered his classmates back toward their table. Deku gave her a wave which she returned with a smile.
An ominous wind blew across campus as Principal Nezu stood perfectly composed before the crumbled school defense wall. Midnight, Thirteen, Recovery Girl and Patho circled behind. The four women looked slightly bewildered as Nezu began to speak.
“How were ordinary members of the press able to by-pass our security systems? Someone else must have been behind this… Some villain managed to actually infiltrate our school. But was this purely a show of power? Or a declaration of war?” He looked at the rubble and then back to the four women.
Midnight took a deep breath, face solemn, “Whatever quirk did this… it obliterated the wall- Nezu, what are we going to do?”
“It may have eliminated the wall but the sensors are still in tact,” Patho looked up.
“What if its more than one villain? What if it’s a test?” Recovery Girl asked.
Patho looked down to her and then back up, “We have All Might.”
“All Might can’t be everywhere Keri and you know it,” Midnight looked to her, “And if its more than one villain, what is one man to do against that?”
“You’re right, Midnight. We all must be prepared for what could happen next. All the teachers must be informed,” Nezu nodded, “We’ll have a conference after school today.”
“Yes, sir.”
THE VERY NEXT DAY…
“You’re late,” The younger woman smirked, standing in front of the school doors as Toshinori ran up, out of breath, “Doing hero work again?”
“Keri—“ He gasped a breath, “Listen I—“
“Its no use, you’re in trouble, mister,” She giggled.
He ran his hands down his face, “I can’t just— ignore—“
Keri went to him and took his hand, “Calm down idiot, I’m teasing you… but you do need to be more careful - you’re using up your hero time on things other heroes can handle… these kids deserve the most time you can give them.”
He hung his head and held her hand close, kneeling to be a little under her height, “You’re right… You’re always right, Ree…”
“I know,” She smiled and pushed some of his blonde hair back, “Don’t be so dramatic, you don’t have to train 1-A today at least, they’re heading to the USJ right now with Aizawa. They all looked so cute in their little costumes.”
“They’re on their way to the USJ Already!? I thought that was later in the day! Shit I’m supposed to be there!”
She blinked and rubbed the back of her head, “Ah— well then I guess you really are in trouble… come on- lets go up to my office so you can rest, you should be able to make it in time for the end of the training right?”
He stood and clenched his jaw, “This was so irresponsible of me.”
“Things happen, Tosh, just call Thirteen, I’m sure she’ll understand,” holding out her hand she smiled, “Come on, symbol of peace. Let’s get you some breakfast.”
He took her hand and took a deep breath, “Yeah, that will be good, help me recover a bit more.”
------
“Yes… Yes… Understood… Uh-huh— no no I’m sure I can make it there by the end! Yes. Okay.. I’m sorry again… honestly… Okay, bye.” Toshinori hung up his phone and hung his head.
Keri locked the door and pulled down the privacy shade again and walked up to the sofa, kneeling beside Toshinori in his weakened form, “Come here.”
He leaned into her with a frown, she wrapped her arms around him and leaned back. He was laying in her lap as she played with his golden hair, using her quirk to give him some peace of mind, “What on earth would I do without you…” He hummed blissfully as he felt his stress melt away.
“Be sitting here pacing the floor and beating yourself up,” she purred, forehead glowing bright pink as she poured good feelings into the man in her lap. Looking down as he closed his eyes she smiled, blushing slightly, he was so handsome, even — no — especially like this. Like this he was just a man, he was just Toshinori. He was good, kind, valiant, somber, fun — somehow she loved him more like this than like All Might. Well, maybe it was because you can admire and love a symbol - but you fall in love with a person. And there was no denying it in her heart that she was head over heels in love with Toshinori Yagi. Though she would never tell him.
Sighing he wrapped his arms around her waist, somehow the touch didn’t fell inappropriate - this was just their normal interaction. Friends acted like this, right? Toshi sighed and fell asleep for a little while as Keri continued her ministrations.
---
“Toshinori,” a soft voice tempted him from his dreamless sleep, “Toshi… wake up…”
“Nnh… five more minutes.”
A gentle laugh filled the room, “Toshinori my leg is asleep.”
Blinking his blue eyes open he looked up and blushed, “Ah! Oh Patho I’m sorry! How long have I been out! I’m sorry—“
“Stop, stop,” she laughed as he sat himself up and stretched, “You’ve been asleep for half an hour, you needed some rest, it was no trouble.”
“I should call Aizawa,” he coughed a bit and pulled his phone to his ear, “See how things are going.” When he couldn’t reach the man, he tried Thirteen — no answer.
“What’s wrong?”
All Might frowned, “I can’t get either of them on the phone— let me try Aizawa again.”
She stood and stretched, “They are teaching.”
“I know…” he pouted, “Maybe I should just show up there — you know… say something inspiring!” He bulked up and started immediately coughing blood.
“Toshi—!” She was cut off by a knock at the door.
A soft cough sounded out, “Patho? Am I correct that I hear All Might in there?”
“Shit-“ she ran to the door, unlocking it, “Principal Nezu, sir, yes he’s been in here resting.”
“Dear? Will you run downstairs and get me some tea from the lunchroom?”
“Sir, I have tea here…” Nezu shot her a look, “Ah-! Yes… I’ll get tea from the lunch room.” She frowned and cleared her throat, “I will be back,” with that, she left the room.
--
Taking a deep breath she got into the elevator, “Poor Toshinori… he’s going to get one hell of a lecture if ever I heard one…” Walking through the hallways she took stock of everything going down in each classroom, knowing she wasn’t wanted back in her office for a good long while.
Finally after wandering around for almost forty minutes, Patho decided a nice walk outside would do the trick — “MISS CHAIRO!!!” She heard a scream, a familiar one — Tenya.
“Tenya?!” She rushed to the top of the stairs to see the boy sprinting with all his might - looking exhausted, “Tenya what’s wrong?!”
He all but collapsed against the stairs, “The USJ — a villain attack— there’s a hundred easy — Aizawa and Thirteen and the others—“ He was crying.
Patho ran to him, trying to help him up, “Tenya, come with me- we have to tell the Principal exactly what is happening so he can sound the alarm.” The boy nodded, Patho activated her quirk to try and soothe him - though it didn’t do much with all the fear and adrenaline she could feel coming off of him, “You did the right thing running back to the school, Tenya, I’m so proud of you.”
He just stared ahead, trying to remain standing as the rode up the elevator.
Keri helped him down the hall, “NEZU!! NEZU COME QUICK!” She shouted from the hall. Nezu and a Buffed up All Might ran into the hallway.
“Young Ida - what’s wrong—“ Nezu started.
“Principal Nezu, there’s been a villain attack inside the USJ, Thirteen, Aizawa and the class are trying to fight them off - there are so many — they need help!”
Nezu nodded, “Patho - get Tenya to lie down in your office, get him some water - I’m going to sound the alarm and call the police— All Might you — ALL MIGHT?”
The man was running into the stairwell before anyone could say anything. He had to save the kids. He had to. If he had been there none of this would have happened.
Nezu shook his head, “Patho — take care of Ida.”
“Miss Chairo — you have to let me go back to my class—“
“Tenya. You’re exhausted. You have done an incredible thing, and All Might is on his way - the police and other heroes will be on the scene. Right now, you need to sit down for a moment- when Nezu gathers the staff, you can head with them, okay?”
He nodded, tears in his eyes, “I— I…” He covered his face, taking his glasses off.
Keri knelt by him, setting a glass of water on the coffee table, “Hey now… its alright to cry, you can let it out Tenya, you’re safe here.”
“My friends are in trouble!” He whimpered.
“Yes, but they are capable, as are the heroes with them. Here, I want you to take a sip of water and take a few deep breaths, you need to calm down some so you can return to thee USJ.” She held out the glass for him. He took it and took a few breaths, wiping his eyes, “Thats it Tenya.” She had to focus on the boy in front of her, had to do her job. Her heart was pounding in her own chest knowing Toshinori wasn’t strong enough for this right now.
“Thank you….” He said softly as he took another drink of water, “Miss Chairo… I couldn’t have made it up here without your help.”
“Come on now— lets get up and go see if the teachers are getting ready.”
He nodded and took another breath, standing with renewed vigor — inspiration from Patho’s quirk.
Nezu came into the hallway, “Come on — we’re meeting everyone at the front of the building, the police are on their way. Patho I need you to stay behind and watch the front doors.”
Tenya gave a quick look over to there guidance counselor and for a moment thought he saw a brief look of disappointment or something related cross her face before she uttered, “Yes, sir, I’ll keep an eye for the cops.”
In what seemed like no time at all, all of the pros were gone in the direction of the USJ. Patho stood on the steps of the school, all of the other kids in their classrooms unaware, thinking some staff meeting was called. She looked down at her feet, feeling pathetic once more. She couldn’t even help her students in trouble. She just silently hoped for everyone’s safety.
Turning her head — she heard sirens fast approaching.

The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen.
CHAPTER THREE: UA HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAM
For Patho, summer was full of being with and missing Toshinori. They had become dear friends, they texted, talked on the phone - and went out, as friends of course, in his weakened form.  Whenever he was on television, she would text him. And when he had a particularly bad fight, he would need to talk through some things.
Summer was drawing to a close, and her second year at UA, and his first, was fast approaching. Entry exams were only a week away. She had been through this once before, but wasn’t installed enough yet to be there.
And then that Saturday;
[Text: Toshinori] Hey! You’ll never guess what I’ve been doing. A smile crossed her lips.
[Text: Keri] Eating copious amounts of ice cream, even though your stomach can’t take it and it’ll make you ill?
[Text: Toshinori] No…. [Text: Toshinori] I wouldn’t do that. [Text: Toshinori] You can’t prove i’ve ever done that…
[Text:Keri] :P What have you been doing?
[Text: Toshinori] I found a successor! I’ve been training him! You’d love him.
[Text:Keri] As much as you?
[Text:Toshinori] More.
[Text:Keri] I doubt it, Tosh.
[Text:Toshinori] Do you want to meet him? He’s going to be taking the entrance exam. He cries a lot, he’s a really sensitive kid! His name is Izuku Midoriya! He’s this quirk-less kid, and he’s so brave, Ree.
[Text:Keri] I would love to meet him.
[Text:Toshinori] C: !! The three of us can meet for lunch tomorrow??? Pleeeaseee say yes!
[Text:Keri] Okay okay, don’t get all mopey like you get.
[Text:Toshinori] I have never been mopey in my life.
[Text:Keri] Now THAT is the biggest lie I have ever heard. [Text:Keri] You’re mopey all the time. [Text:Keri] I’ll see you tomorrow, goon.
His last text message was a big emoji of his All Might form, giving a grin and a big thumbs up. Shaking her head she smiled, “He’s such an idiot.”
ACROSS TOWN…
“I AM HERE—“ All Might burst out from an alley in front of Deku, “—YOUNG MIDORIYA!”
“AH! All might!! What are you doing here!?” He was dressed in sweats, he had been out running.
He grinned and then coughed out blood, shrinking into small-might, “I came to see if you wanted to go to lunch tomorrow, with me and another teacher at UA? I’d like for you to meet her, she’s a dear friend of mine.”
“You… want me to meet a friend of yours, All Might?”
He laughed, “Of course I do, young man. You’re my successor! And besides - she’s a great pro hero herself!”
“Wh-who is she!?” Deku’s eyes shone, thinking of the possibilities of who they could be. How strong this woman might be, what he might learn from her.
He pulled his hand to his chest, “Her hero name is Patho!”
Deku blinked and wet his lips, “The support hero? I didn’t even know you’d be acquainted with her, she’s not on many crime scenes- only natural disasters and emergencies…”
Toshinori turned, “She is a very dear friend. And she has an incredible quirk!” He huffed, “She is as passionate to help as you are, and I thought you two would get along. I want you to have a safe place to go in school if you get into UA- sometimes I wont be around, or I’ll be teaching. And besides, she knows about you, and my secret.”
“Ah- she knows? Wow… she must be really important to you, All Might.”
He blushed and cleared his throat, “Yes! As a friend!”
“You said that like three times…” He blinked.
“BECAUSE I MEAN IT. OKAY, I’ll see you tomorrow? We’ll go get lunch after our morning training! Don’t be late, young man.”
“Yes sir!” Deku nodded fiercely as he turned back into All Might and flew away.
——
Keri sat at a table outdoors at a cute little cafe her and Toshinori frequented when he needed to talk. Yawning slightly, she adjusted her UA hoodie, pulling her long hair into a side ponytail as she waited for her friend to show up with his protege.
“Hey!” A familiar voice called out, and when she looked up there he was, tall as a tree, with a boy with green hair. That must be Izuku.
Standing up when they got close she smiled, only a few inches taller than Deku, “You must be Izuku,” she held out her hand, “It’s an honor to meet you, I’m Keri Chairo.”
Izuku looked at her and smiled, shaking her hand, “The honor’s mine, Miss Chairo! It’s so amazing to meet a hero like you!”
Blushing she shot a look up to Toshinori who was beaming with pride, “You must be hungry! I’m sure Toshinori is a slave driver. Lunch is on me today, boys.”
“Oh!! Oh no you don’t have to —“ Izuku started.
“It’s my pleasure,” Keri smirked sincerely before pointing a look at All Might, “And don’t you even try to protest, I swear to god.”
He grunted and hung his head, “It’s like you can read my mind, I swear.”
Deku laughed softly and bowed, “Thank you…” When she sat down, he moved to sit and looked at All Might, who finally sat, “Your name is Toshinori?”
All Might looked to him, then to Keri and nodded, “Toshinori Yagi.” He smiled a bit, “So, Keri, this is Izuku Midoriya, who is as courageous and kind as anyone could be.”
The boys face turned bright red and the woman smiled, “I’d take that as gold, kid, Toshi is very high in his ideals - which - you no doubt know. You’re going to make a great addition to UA high.”
“I - I don’t even know how I’m going to get in but…”
Keri shushed him, “Toshi believes in you, and so I believe in you - you’ll be in classes come the fall, I’m sure. I bet we can expect great things from you.”
Deku felt his eyes water and he sniffed, “Thank you Miss Chairo…”
“This deserves a celebratory lunch! Pick whatever you want — Toshi don’t even think about picking anything with milk.”
The number one pro hero threw his hands up, “God, woman! You never let me do anything!”
For the next week, Keri didn’t see All Might at all. He went radio silent. She tried to reassure herself if was because he was so busy with training Izuku and getting settled with the High School for teaching. Though her anxiety was trying to tell her he was done with her. Shaking it off she went about her days, trying to get her own office together and go over how she was going to deal with being at the practical exam.
——
The day finally arrived. The UA Entrance Exam.
The teachers were all seated comfortably in the examination booth, all of the young hopefuls ready to tackle a simulated villain attack with robots. Keri took the seat beside All Might - noticing his hands trembling, she moved to take the one closest to her in the dark. He didn’t turn his head to look at her, but he did lace her fingers with his own to steady himself.
Toshinori felt her confidence radiating through him — he could get addicted to her quirk.
The others started, most of them quickly racking up points stopping robot after robot, while Deku looked around worried. She stroked her thumb across Toshinori’s skin, trying to calm his nerves.
“At this rate there won’t be any enemies left—“ He grunted under his breath.
She leaned close and whispered, “Give Izuku some time.”
Across the room, Midnight smirked and leaned into Aizawa, “Patho has gotten mighty cozy with All Might over the summer, wouldn’t you say, Eraser?”
He groaned, “Oh my god, I don’t care.”
“Do you think they’re a hot item? They’re holding hands.”
“Watch the mock-battle!” He grunted again, eyes never leaving the field.
“Clearly the examinees have no idea how many villains are on the field,” Principal Nezu began, “So they have to cover a vast area in a short amount of time… some are information gathering, some are focusing on raw speed and power, and some are remaining calm under pressure — all these are valuable and the students who implement them all will rack up the most points.” He punctuated his little speech with a nod.
“I’d say this years group looks very promising,” purred Midnight.
“Well,” Ectoplasm smirked, “There’s still plenty of time left before this is all over… let’s see how they react to this,” and with that he pressed a red button in the examination chamber.
Toshinori tensed, “Come on Midoriya.”
The events that unfolded with the zero-point robot were too horrific for Keri to take. She jumped out of her chair, “NEZU YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING— HE’S GOING TO KILL HIMSELF.”
All of the teachers sat frozen as they watched Izuku fall from the height of a skyscraper toward the ground. Keri ran to the window, gripping her hands together. Toshinori sat motionless, watching with horror - would the 9th wilder of One-for-all die before he even began?
The redhead— she saved him.
“TIME’S UP!!!!” Present Mike called out.
Just like that, it was over.
Keri moved to tear ass down to the battlefield, but when she had gotten into the stairwell away from the other teachers, she was grabbed by All Might in his full form, “PATHO, RESTRAIN YOURSELF.”
“He’s HURT, Toshinori! You’re responsible for—“ She had tears in her eyes.
His face for the first time since he met her, looked angry, “Midoriya knew what he was getting himself into.”
“NO! HE DIDN’T! YOU DIDN’T EVEN GIVE HIM ENOUGH TIME TO KNOW HIS LIMITS! HOW COULD YOU!” She let her tears fall, “YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT PEOPLE!”
He grunted and pulled away, “How could you accuse me or not caring?” He looked, hurt, “YOU of all people—“ He stepped back again, “I warned him not to act like a pro. I told him there was severe physical backlash. If you run out there now like a frightened CHILD, that’s what you will be to these students!”
She stared at him, embarrassed and angry.
“If you run out there, you will ruin what Izuku has done for himself!” He grunted, “I stopped you because I value you and him. But I guess despite all of your schooling, you can’t see that. You just see what you want to see, like everyone else. I thought you were different.”
Keri wiped her eyes, “If that’s what you want to see, Toshinori Yagi, then that’s what you see. I’m out of here.” She turned and started down the stairs, “You introduced me to Izuku, you made sure I had a vested interest in him, and now you don’t want me to feel the need to run to his aid when he has two broken fucking legs and a broken arm? You want us to be friends? Have fun with the rest of the teaching staff, this child is going home.”
Tumblr media
All Might slammed his fist into a railing once she was out of sight, warping it almost to the ground. He felt blood in his throat, and he de-muscled as he coughed, holding onto the warped railing. Pulling out the handkerchief in his pocket to wipe his mouth he looked down at it a moment — at the K in the corner. His heart ached in his chest as he squeezed his eyes shut. He had to go back into the examination room — cover for her.
Wiping the blood from his lips, he went back in, “Patho has decided to head home, start working on her strategy with the students for when they start in a few weeks.”
Nezu nodded, he of course had heard the fight in the hall- they all had. It was better not to bring it up, “I’ll give her a phone call later so I can discuss it with her.” He gave a smile.
Toshi stuffed the soiled woman’s handkerchief in his pants pocket and sat down in his seat miserably as he watched Recovery Girl kiss young Midoriya better.
When Keri got home, she slammed her door shut, throwing her bag and shoes and some other things around before collapsing on the sofa in tears.
I thought you were different.
She clenched her teeth and curled into a ball, everything that happened in that wonderful summer - was their friendship over? Were things with her and All Might through? She wanted to text him, but she couldn’t. She said awful things to him, but he said just as awful things back to her.
There were two weeks before school started, and in that time, Keri and Toshinori did not speak. He was radio silent. But this time, she knew it was her fault.

All Right, All Might: CH. 5

Painting: Toshinori Yagi X FemOC
The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. Second day of classes turns out to be harder on Patho’s problem student than anyone else.
——————— CHAPTER FIVE: Comfort Food
Keri and Toshinori sat at the table in the little sushi restaurant, she chuckled softly and let out a content sigh. Things were quiet between them for a few minutes, but not uncomfortably so. All Might looked up and smiled, “What’s so funny?”
“Its always funny to me that we can just go out to dinner and no one knows you,” She smiled warmly, “But I love it because I get your undivided attention.” He blushed softly and smiled, “It’s nice. Since I’ve been here in the city away from my agency, I haven’t much spent time with anyone… It’s just been me.”
“I know- that’s why you have that crappy apartment.” Keri laughed softly.
Toshinori blushed harder, “I-its not that crappy! My other apartment was just decorated nicer!!”
She smiled, “Its just funny, I know you, I know you don’t need to live an average lifestyle. But you do. It’s very telling that you are exactly who you claim to be. You’d rather eat comfort food than expensive cuisine.” She paused, “You’re like comfort food.”
“I am?”
“Yeah,” She smiled, “Like, I know there are people that say All Might is tacky and a showboat.”
Toshinori choked on his water.
“But I mean its like, eating a warm bowl of chicken soup when you’re sick, the persona is comforting, everyone likes it. It’s familiar, it’s kind — then, you have Endeavor, who I have worked with much more often than I have with you, and he never even gives his support heroes a second glance. He’s like some fancy restaurant that only lets certain people in. You’re a corner ramen shop that everyone loves to go to.” Keri smiled.
“Comfort food,” he smiled, “I like that…”
Keri smiled at him, “So- are you ready for your first big day tomorrow teaching Hero Course?”
He took a deep breath and nodded, “I think so.”
“Tch- that doesn’t sound like my Toshi.”
Looking up at her he took a breath, “What if I overdo it and start coughing up blood.”
“You won’t. You know your limits. You’re going to do great. Remember- these are fifteen year olds that LOVE you. Just be your normal hammy self,” She giggled, “Like you were with me when we met, they’ll just die.”
He smiled a little and set his card down on the bill when it came, waving the waiter off before Keri could put down any cash, “This ones on me.”
Making a face she frowned, “You /always/ say that! I can pay too, you know.”
“I’m not spending it on my crappy apartment,” He smirked, “Come on- let’s go drink that sake back to your place, so I know you’ll be safe and you don’t have to walk home.”
“And because I have an actual sofa and not a futon.”
“And… because you have an actual sofa… and not a futon,” he blushed.
————————
Keri scanned over the paperwork briefly on All Might’s desk, Test Ground Beta - Hero Training lesson. She nodded, thinking about how working in pairs would suit these kids, she was thinking about young Bakugo again when, “What are you doing snooping around in the teachers lounge, Patho.”
The cold voice of Aizawa made her jump and clutch her chest, “Holy shit Shota!” She took a deep breath, “I was just looking at the Hero Course lesson plan for today.”
“Why, don’t feel like going out there and interfering with his class like you did mine?” He spat.
She rolled her eyes, “You know what happened last year.”
“Yeah. My whole freshman class weren’t fit to be pro heroes.”
“Yeah- and you just get to make that decision and be done with those kids — but you know who had to deal with the ramifications? I did.” She huffed out, “I got calls from so many angry, disgusted, sad parents.”
“Why didn’t you just calm them down,” He chuckled.
“Because my quirk doesn’t work over phone lines Shota and you know that.”
“So what, you get paid to deal with this, remember? Nezu /needed/ a guidance counselor. Usually we just counseled the students ourselves, but he had to go on and get some nobody support hero picking up everyone’s scraps on the field to play nursemaid to future pros. When they’re out there, no ones going to do that for them, you’re just undoing the work we do here by coddling them.” His gaze was ice cold, “Can you go back to your own office? I came in here to rest.” He huffed.
“Yeah. Sure thing.” She turned and left, holding her hand over her mouth once she was in the hallway. Pushing her hair off of her shoulder she swallowed and took a breath.
Some nobody support hero picking up everyone’s scraps on the field to play nursemaid.
God she knew Aizawa wasn’t fond of her, Midnight must have really had something over on him to help give her that birthday present at the end of last semester. She couldn’t remember him being this cruel though - maybe it was All Might. Maybe her being close with All Might was making him dislike her more than usual.
Hanging her head she walked slowly up the stairs and headed into Recovery Girl’s office.
“Hello dear — Keri, are you alright?”
Shaking her head she went and sat on one of the beds, “After everything I’ve ever been through with bullying, somehow it never stops being hard to hear - even though I’m a fucking doctor.”
She frowned, “What happened, dear?”
“Its Aizawa,” She threw her arms up, “He hates me.”
She took a deep breath and smiled a bit, “Aizawa is a strange man, but one thing you know he doesn’t like is a showboat. He doesn’t think heroes need to be in the spotlight - and now who do we have working here?”
“All Might,” Keri responded numbly.
“And who do you spend almost all of your time with?”
Keri blushed furiously, “… All Might.”
“Exactly,” she nodded, “So however irritating your presence was to him last year, now he’s attached his resentment to Toshinori onto it. Don’t mind him. You do great work here. Nezu knows how good a job you do, and he’s especially thankful to have you as a close ally to All Might, with everything he’s going through.”
She nodded, “Toshinori helps me too, its not just a one way street.”
“I know, dear, he’s very fond of you,” Patho's forehead started to glow and she clapped a hand over it, “And I know you’re very fond of him. It’s sweet, watching you two.”
“Nothing’s going on,” She spat out.
Recovery girl laughed softly, “I’m an old lady, Keri, and I know a man who is smitten when I see one, mark my words.”
“He's the number one hero, the symbol of peace. He’s never had relationships, he’s too busy protecting the world… and if he did it wouldn’t be some…” She closed her eyes, “Some nobody support hero picking up everyone’s scraps on the field to play nursemaid.” She repeated Aizawa’s words and the room filled with a feeling of pain.
“You are not a nobody support hero! You are a teacher at UA high. Hold your chin up dear, sorrow gives you wrinkles,” She nodded, “Besides, All Might is looking his retirement in the face, and you know that. He needs someone to lean on, and all I’m saying is I’m glad he has you there —“
“You have a patient,” Midnight cooed as she walked in with the stretcher carrying Midoriya.
“Izuku Midoriya? Again?” Recovery Girl shook her head.
Keri jumped up, “Izuku—“ She looked at him and hung her head, thinking of a million things at once, but holding her tongue as long as midnight was there. She helped get him on one of the cots and watched as Recovery Girl performed some basic first aid, attaching an IV.
Midnight left to return downstairs to her next class as Keri grit her teeth, “All Might is going too far with him.”
Recovery girl looked up, “I won’t disagree with you.”
Patho sat beside the boy and pushed his green hair back from his forehead.
“I know you know about this special circumstance, Keri, I’m not going to pretend to think Toshinori hasn’t told you.”
“I was the first to know about Izuku,” She sighed and held his hand, her body glowing pink as she filled Midoriya with a sense of calm, even though he was unconscious, “This is not the first time Toshi and I will disagree about how he is training the boy.”
“Keri?” The older woman looked at her, “I think you should let me handle it this time,’ She smiled kindly, “He no doubt will feel remorse, but coming from an older woman and a healthcare worker might be better suited.”
Nodding Keri sighed again, “I really should get back to my office. Class should almost be over by now. I should see if anyone needs to come and talk.”
“Okay sweetheart, just leave everything to me,” She smiled and nodded.
Nodding again she waved, exiting the nursing area and heading back down the hall to her office. The elevator door opened, and there was a breathless Toshinori in his silver age costume. She looked at him and sighed.
“You’re mad again, I know,” He started softly, walking in front of her.
She shrugged, “You just…” She sighed and just leaned in and hugged him, “It’ll be alright, okay? Just go check on him, hide out for a a bit, rest,” He didn’t need to know what went on between herself and Aizawa, and if he stayed with her too long, he’d realize she was sad.
He nodded and hugged her, pulling away to go into the nurses office.
-------
Keri went into her own office, going to the bathroom she rubbed water on her face when she heard the door almost come off its hinges, jumping she looked over - Katsuki Bakugo. And he was — crying.
Tumblr media
Slamming the door back shut he threw his bag down onto the carpet and slammed his fist into the wall.
Coming out of the bathroom she hurried over to him, “Katsuki—! Are you hurt? Whats wrong?”
He didn’t look at her, “I don’t even know what I’m - I’m doing here in your stupid office,” he started, rubbing at his eyes furiously, “I don’t need your help.”
She took a breath and moved to sit down at the kitchenette table, “You don’t have to come in here for help you know, sometimes it’s just needed to blow off some steam with someone you trust.”
“He beat me, /deku/, in the training today,” He stomped over at sat across from her at the kitchenette table, “I’m supposed to be the best. I was number one in the entrance exam.” He was babbling in a wobbled voice, “And this quirkiness freak just - he guessed my every move, he moved so fast he was- he was better than me! And its not just him - that half and half ice bastard — his quirk is so damn powerful! Some of these damn nerds I wouldn’t beat head to head in a damn fight!” He slammed his fist on the table and buried his head in his folded arms.
Keri stood and went to put the kettle on.
Bakugo looked up and sniffled, “Well — pathologic? Aren’t you gonna say something? Try to tell me that I just need to train harder and not let these bastards get me down?” She looked over her shoulder, “You aren’t here for my help, I’m just making us some tea.”
He nodded and took a shaky breath, he wasn’t here for help. Not this stupid guidance counseling bullshit. Counseling. He didn’t need council, he needed to be better.
“I think some ginger tea would do you some good right now,” She smiled kindly, turning back to the cupboards.
He nodded again, “Yeah,” biting his bottom lip he wiped at his eyes again, “How am I going to be a leader for the class if I can’t even beat shitty Deku?”
She smiled a little and took out a couple of mugs, “With some work, is all. Losing stings, no matter who is the one who lost, or who is the one who they lost to. It’s the second day of school, you have to try and be patient.”
“I can’t fall behind!”
“I didn’t say let yourself fall behind,” She turned around and leaned against the counter, “I just said be patient. You couldn’t see what the others did in their entrance exam because you were actively working, and you did incredibly. But now is the time to take stock of the class - not let yourself focus on what you feel you lack. Being a hero is about studying your opponents - and your allies.”
Coming over she set the mugs down, “Yeah, Deku does that. Studies everything.”
“Well with your intelligence I’m sure you’ll have no problem with doing the same.” She let out a soft sigh, letting herself think about Aizawa.
“Hey- “ Bakugo frowned, “You’re not yourself today, nerd.”
She looked up to him blinking, “What do you mean.”
“Tch! Don’t play dumb pathological! I can sense there’s something off, you can you know- like vent too if you want.” He crossed his arms, “Not like I have anything better to do, I can at least listen to your stupid problem so I can forget about those extras in class.”
Keri pushed the long side of her hair back, “Aizawa hates me.” She shrugged.
“He’s a weirdo. So what.”
“He doesn’t think UA needs a guidance counselor and that I am here for no reason. Today he called me a-“ she paused and closed her eyes, “A nobody support hero picking up everyone’s scraps on the field.”
Bakugo blinked at her, “Is that all?! Who the hell cares what he thinks, no one even knows who he is, so he’s not one to talk. At least you put yourself out there and do what you can. You said you got bullied in stupid high school too, do what you did with them, fucking ignore them.”
That was surprisingly insightful, “You’re right. I didn’t let that stop me then and I won’t now.”
He nodded, “And I won’t let those extras downstairs stop me now.” He huffed.
She nodded, drinking her tea, he did the same. The two of them just looked out the window as the school day was almost over. They stayed that way in a semi-comfortable silence. Keri looked over at the boy, he still looked upset, like if he thought about this more it might trigger another outburst. But she knew he would at least come and see her if he got too upset, he was here now wasn’t he?
“Tch, take a picture it’ll last longer, nerd,” he smirked at her.
She laughed and shook her head, “You’re something, Katsuki.”
Taking a breath he looked up at her, “I think I should head home, do some more thinking.”
Keri nodded and stood, “Sure, it’s getting late. You gotta get some training in if you’re going to be number one.”
“Oh. Theres no if, nerd, I /am/ going to be number one. I’ll even surpass your dumb boyfriend.” He huffed.
“Boyfriend??” She looked at him.
He laughed softly, “All Might, dunce.”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” she pouted.
“Mm… and Endeavor isn’t a second rate pro.”
Rolling her eyes she walked up to him as he picked up his bag, “Hey.”
“What?”
She gingerly put her hand on his back, her forehead glowing pink as she tried to calm his mind. For a moment he leaned into it. He closed his eyes and when he felt like he might cry again he pulled away, “Thats a weird quirk,” he huffed, “See ya, loser.”
“Try to have a good night Katsuki.”
He left her office and she inspected the hinges - surprisingly they held up to his explosive slamming. She ran her hands in her hair, “Poor kid… he has so much fear.” Moving back to her desk she was greeted by another sound of an opening door — this time it was Toshinori.
“Was that Bakugo again?” He asked, out of breath suddenly.
She knitted her brows together, “Yeah. He’s upset.”
“Upset— he’s so stubborn. That pride is dangerous.”
“Its more than that—“
“I should have a talk with him. He could use one of my empowering speeches I’m sure!”
“Toshinori that’s not a good idea—“
But he was gone. Keri slapped her forehead and moved to the overlook window in her office. Midoriya and Bakugo were already down there, no doubt fighting. Izuku shared the ‘fix it’ quality with Toshinori, for sure. But sometimes things can’t be fixed quick with words, sometimes things have to simmer at a boil before coming down - and if you turn the heat too high it will boil over.
She knew the small progress she had made with Katsuki that afternoon would be all but erased by the time he got home. Gathering her things together she made her way downstairs to the first floor where a few of the first year girls were mumbling to themselves.
“Hey girls, how was your second day?”
They turned around and Ochaco smiled, “Hey! You’re miss Chairo! Right?”
She smiled, “Yes, that’s me. I know you had your first hero training with All Might - how did it go?”
Mina jumped up and down, “It was SO cool!! Getting to see All Might like that! In the flesh! And getting to do some real combat!”
“It certainly was hard though,” Su commented, “And I know Midoriya got hurt again.”
She smiled, briefly looking out the window to see All Might and Izuku talking, “All Might is pretty cool, and Izuku should be just fine by tomorrow, he just needs to be more careful.”
“Whats it like- getting to be co-workers with ALL MIGHT?!” Mina squealed.
Keri laughed softly, “Well, he and I are actually good friends, so seeing him in his stupid yellow suit is just funny to me.”
Ochaco gasped and stifled a giggle about the suit, covering her mouth.
“No way!!!! You’re friends with him!?” Mina jumped.
The woman smiled, “Yes, and I’m sure as time goes on he’ll become a friend to each of you as well.” She nodded, “I’m going to head out— but if you girls ever need anything, anything at all, even if you need to vent or hide out? My door is always open.” She waved.
“Thank you Miss Chairo, ribbit.”
“Thank you! Have a good night!” Ochaco called out happily, Mina waved.
Keri walked outside, knowing the girls would still see her. Moving close she gently put her hand on All Might’s lower back. Saying something to him and then to Izuku as she bid them farewell. All Might seemed to protest before she put her hand up and smiled. They parted ways.
“Oh my gosh,” Mina gasped, “Do you think they’re totally dating?!”

All right, All Might: Ch. 4
Word Count: 3,757

Painting: Toshinori Yagi X FemOC
The UA Guidance Counselor, a quirk user with Pathokenesis, is shocked to find out her personal hero All Might is coming to be a teacher. The road they walk as a parallel starts to merge and there’s no telling what could happen.
-----
CHAPTER FOUR: THAT’S HIGH SCHOOL FOR YOU
Keri sat in her office, it was early in the morning. She took a deep breath and tried to push down her nerves. She was extremely excited to welcome the students from classes 1-A and 1-B, as well as the support course heroes — but she was dreading seeing /him/. Toshinori Yagi.
The rest of the summer had passed without them seeing each other. It killed her. It had nothing to do with the fact he was All Might, and everything to do with how much she missed his idle chatter, his laugh, his smile, the way his deft fingers felt when he held her hand. She missed her friend. Keri thought of a million ways to apologize, to reach out - but they never seemed good enough. And he never reached out either, she figured it was pointless.
She had bought him a new set of handkerchiefs with his own initials branded on them to use as the pocket squares in the suits he wore - they were in America’s colors. Maybe it would be the kind of apology gift she needed to get things back on track with him. It sat under her desk in a gift bag with a bottle of sake.
Looking down at her phone, she watched the time tick to the next minute before setting her forehead down onto the desk with a groan.
“Can I come in?”
She felt her skin prickle with the somber masculine voice behind her. Turning she looked up and was met with the blue eyes of Toshinori. He was dwarfed by the extra fabric of his suit, “Of course, All Might…”
He took a few steps forward and closed the door, “Keri- I-“
“All Might, I’m so so sorry.” She blurted out first.
He looked taken aback and he walked to her, getting onto one knee and grabbing her hand in his, “No — I’m the one who’s sorry. You were in distress and I took is personally—“
“No! No you were just trying to protect me and Izuku and I was behaving like a spoiled kid—“
“No you weren’t, please—“
She started to cry as she slid off of her chair and wrapped her arms around Toshinori’s neck, “I missed you so much.”
He felt his own eyes prick with tears as he held her firmly to his small form, “I missed you too. The last couple of weeks have been so hard — I was lost without you.”
Nodding against him she squeezed a little tighter, “I wrote about a zillion I’m sorry texts— nothing seemed right…”
“I did the same thing—“ He admitted, “I- one night I was outside your apartment with flowers looking like a burglar… I couldn’t face how ashamed I felt… the way I lashed out at you…”
“I said horrible things to you All Might - I didn’t mean any of them…” She pulled back to look at him, “You’re my hero, you’re my friend… I don’t think anything bad about you.”
He nodded and swallowed down tears, “I don’t think anything bad about you either.”
“All Might I’m —“
“Keri… please… stop calling me All Might,” he pushed her hair back, “ My name is Toshinori. I’m your friend. Right? I’m just plain old annoying Toshinori.”
She nodded and hugged him, “Toshi…” She whimpered gently into his ear.
He relaxed into the embrace finally once she said his name. He felt complete again now that he and his best friend had made up, he had been so lonely. When he hadn’t been doing entry videos, paperwork, hero work, or training izuku, he was in his shabby apartment alone, thinking about her and how badly he messed up.
Pulling back she wiped a tear from his cheek, “Oh I— I have something for you…”
“You got me something…” he watched as she went to grab the bag from under her desk and return with it, “Keri - you didn’t have to get me anything after what happened, there was nothing to—“
“Open it, please,” she started, “as an apology, and also as a congratulations for your first day as a teacher.”
All Might looked down, taking the bag and opening it, “A bottle of sake —“ he stopped and pulled out the pocket squares and smiled brighter.
“I- I figured you might not have pocket squares that fit your personality - and since you might need a spare handkerchief now and then-“
He ran his fingers over one he pulled out, “This has my initials on it.”
“Yeah of course,” She smiled, “You’re a professor, you should have something fancy.”
He swallowed and looked up at her, “I love them.”
Smiling she wiped her eyes, “Here— let me help you put it in your pocket.” Patho showed him how to fold the perfect pocket square, and she placed one into his suit pocket, adjusting it, “There. Now you look perfect.”
All Might looked down at it and smiled thoughtfully, “You’ll come over tonight to help me drink this sake, wont you? To celebrate our first day as coworkers, and our first day back to being friends?”
“Sure thing,” She nodded and hugged him again, “I’m so glad we’re okay.”
“Me too, Patho.”
Taking a deep breath she stood, offering her hands to help him up, “Okay Mister Yagi, you better dust yourself off and get ready for a day of being inspirational!”
Standing with her help, he powered up and towered over her in his buff body, “I won’t let you down, miss.” He chuckled and winked, kissing both her hands, “You’re going to be great today too. God I’m glad you don’t hate me.”
Keri moved to jump into his arms, wrapping her arms around his thick shoulders, “I’m glad you don’t hate /me/!” They laughed and he spun them around before setting her down.”
“I’LL SEE YOU AT LUNCH.”
She laughed as he exited the class room.
——
After orientation, Keri rushed to head up to the teacher’s lounge where she knew All Might would be resting up, getting ready to bulk up and teach. She skidded into the room, “Toshi— Aizawa he—“
“I know, he’s got Midoriya.” He hummed miserably, “This is going to be hard.”
“Homeboy made his class skip orientation, they’re outside using their quirks to do physical tests. Last year he made a girl cry saying someone would be expelled—“
“WHAT.” All Might sat up straighter, “He can’t! He’s going to single out Young Midoriya— He can’t use his quirk yet—“
“Calm down. He never expels someone on the first day— but it makes my job hard for the first few weeks of school.” She grunted, “I just wanted to let you know- I’m going to go down there and keep my fucking eyes on him. He hates that.”
“I’m coming.” He bulked up and adjusted his tie.
She rolled her eyes, “Now it’s going to seem like more than just me going down there to keep his harsh ass in line.”
“No I— I’ll hide and watch from the sidelines!”
“You. Hide.” She looked him up and down, “Toshi, you’re huge.”
“I AM VERY VERSATILE.”
Rolling her eyes, she pulled her sweater on, “Whatever you say.”
The two heroes headed down to the field. All Might stopped behind a building to look on, a concerned smile on his face as Keri walked with an authority he had never seen before onto the field. She did not walk like a new teacher under thirty - she walked like… Nana…
The older man hissed at Deku, “—You’d be nothing more than a liability-“
“AIZAWA.” The female’s voice rang out as he had Izuku wrapped up in his scarf.
He grunted, “Get out of my class, Patho. I’m working.”
“Making my life a living hell is what you’re doing.”
He kept his red eyes on Midoriya as Keri approached, “I’m teaching. I don’t need your schoolgirl play nice crap. We don’t even need a guidance counselor here. And besides, Nezu warned you about interfering.”
“And Nezu warned you too.” Her body started to glow pink, balls of light forming over each fingertip, she pointed at Eraserhead, “Let the kids finish their own ways. You have no right. They all passed the same exams.”
He shot a look at her and her glowing stopped, “Don’t use your quirk on me.”
“Then don’t use yours on Izuku.”
The kids looked on in awe.
“Who the fuck is that, nerd? What is she twelve?” Bakugo grunted under his breath.
A boy with red hair stepped up, “She was glowing like… like in that Wizard of Oz movie…”
“That’s the lady that came to make sure I was okay after the exam,” Ururaka started, “Mister Aizawa is right, she’s the guidance counselor. She has a quirk that can help you to feel better.”
“A quirk that can make you feel better? Psh- what baby shit.” The blond grunted.
“I returned your dangerous quirk. Take your final throw.” Eraserhead backed off of Izuku and then shot a warning look to Patho, who moved to stand with the other children. The triangle on her head glowing pink once more.
“Excuse me- miss?” The Redhead came over to her with a bashful smile, “I’m Eijirou Kirishima.” He held out his hand.
She chuckled and shook it, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Eijirou. I’m Keri Chairo, the school’s guidance counselor. I think we should respect the class and pay attention to Izuku, but if you’d like to talk after class, my office is right upstairs, okay? Door’s always open.”
He blushed and smiled, “Thank you Miss Keri.” He turned his attention back to Deku.
“Nerd.” Bakugo chastised.
Ida whispered to Ururaka, “She’s so diplomatic.”
“I know! And look at her cool haircut! Shaved on one side, long on the other…” She whispered back.
Keri looked over to the worried face of All Might and she steeled herself - she wouldn’t inspire Izuku, that wouldn’t be right. He could do it, he was tenacious. Swallowing she looked back toward him as he moved to throw the ball. The sonic snap that came with it flung the ball into the sky and she grinned.
After a few moments of silence, “Mister Aizawa.” He grunted and looked back, “Look, I’m still standing.”
Patho grinned, “Excellent—“ She stopped, her skin prickling as she felt pure unadulterated rage and jealously from — the blond. What was his name again - Katsuki?
“WOW! That was so cool!!” Ururaka jumped up and clapped.
Ida held his chin, “It looks like his finger is broken… what a strange quirk.”
“WHAT!??!!?! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, WHAT DID YOU DO!?” A scream erupted from Bakugo as he started to run at Deku. Patho began to jump into action when Aizawa’s scarf flew into action first and strapped around the teenager. He struggled and screamed, “WHY IS YOUR DAMN SCARF SO STRONG!?”
“Its made out of carbon fiber and a metal alloy. Stand down Bakugo.” The blonde grunted and finally relented.
“I’ll leave you to the rest of your class, Aizawa.” Keri finally stated, tossing a glance over to see All Might standing there.
He sighed, “its about time.”
Rolling her eyes she walked up to Bakugo, a fierce look in her eyes, but the boy held his ground- he was afraid of nothing, “Katsuki. I want to see you in my office after class.”
“What?! What did I do!? I’m not going to the stupid guidance office!”
She gave him a look, “Listen to me young man, I am a teacher at this school and if I say jump you say how high- understand?”
He clenched his jaw and his fists.
“I said, I want to see you after class, Katsuki.”
“Whatever.” He looked down, he felt angry and fucking embarrassed.
“I’m sorry, what was that?”
He hissed out, “Yes ma’am.”
She nodded and turned, waving to the class before she started to head off. Before she was out of earshot she heard Aizawa say something she’d never heard him say before, “Patho is a great support hero - you would all do well to respect what she says and her office.”
Smiling she turned the corner, only to have someone grab her arm — squeaking out the beginning of a scream until another hand covered her mouth - he realized it was All Might. Mumbling against his hand he raised his brows, “Ah! Sorry — I just didn’t want you to get too far—“
“Toshinori you scared the crap out of me!” She whispered.
“Wasn’t that cool!! Did you see what Young Midoriya did!?”
She nodded, “It was impressive. But you need to take the time to train that boy. He’s dangerous to himself — I personally am worried about that Katsuki Bakugo. His rage and jealousy and… hurt… is off the charts.”
“Well - if there’s anyone who could help him, it’s you, Ree.” He gave a thumbs up.
Sighing she shook her head, “I don’t know… He went to the same middle school as Izuku - back when Izuku had no quirk. This… this can be really dangerous, Toshi. I’ve looked over his scores too, he had some of the highest written exam grades, and he got the most points in the mock battle. He’s not stupid. He’s going to figure out there is a connection between you and Izuku sooner or later, mark my words.”
“That shouldn’t be so bad… they’re classmates.”
An exasperated breath came from the woman, “Toshi you don’t get it. I can /feel/ emotions. I can feel your pride on you, your doubt, your fear. I can feel it clearly if I concentrate specifically- but I can always feel emotions clearly if they are very strong. Katsuki is dripping with anger and something else…” She paused and thought about it for a moment, her eyes looking back and forth, “It’s a form of deep hurt, like- betrayal. He’s hurting really bad. That hurts me.”
“You’re so compassionate, Keri… you are going to be a good influence on these kids.”
Gently rubbing his arm she smiled, “You gonna come back upstairs with me - or do you want to stalk the kids some more?”
“Ah— I’m not stalking!”
She smiled mischievously and winked, “See you later on, Toshi.”  Walking back up toward the entrance of the school, her face turned grave once more as her thoughts drifted to Bakugo. He was hurt in some way, it was her duty to speak with him, to try and help. She wasn’t much older than these kids - only twelve years their senior - which is something Principal Nezu said was an advantage. That they would probably want to talk to her before anyone else.
Taking a deep breath, she moved into her office to wait for young Katsuki.
——
About ninety minutes passed and then the door to her office opened, “I’m here.” The gruff voice called out, “What the hell is this about?”
"Good afternoon Katsuki,” Keri said with a soothing smile, “Come in — can I get you some tea? I think I have some cake in the fridge.”
“I don’t like sweets.”
She smiled, “Tea?”
“No. Can you just tell me what the hell this is about so I can go home. I have training to do.”
Keri took a deep breath and motioned to the sofa, “Please, Katsuki, sit down.”
“I don’t need a shrink.” He said angrily.
“I just want to talk.”
“I don’t want to talk to you. You’re a loser.” He let his temper get the best of him - besides, she was young, and she had a stupid quirk. She wasn’t a hero.
Kerri just smiled and nodded, “I knew a lot of boys like you when I was in high school.”
“Tch- you didn’t know anyone like me. I heard you didn’t even go to UA.”
“No, you’re right, I didn’t.” She sat down, setting two cups of tea down, picking up her own and taking a sip, “I went to Ketsubutsu Academy High School.”
Bakugo let out a chuckle, “Thats fucking pathetic you know. How are you even a teacher here?”
There it was. Interest. Kelly shrugged, “I know it’s pathetic - I dreamed of going to UA you know, when I was a kid. I wanted to be just like All Might and save people with a smile on my face.”
“Yeah, me too, big deal. That still doesn’t tell me why you went to such a loser school. Is it because you’re a loser?”
“My quirk allows me to feel and manipulate emotions,” She looked up at him over her eyelashes, “ I wasn’t strong enough to be a fighter as a teen, but I knew that All Might wouldn’t give up, so I didn’t either. So I went to the school I could, and then I went to college.”
“College? Heroes don’t go to stupid college.” Katsuki drifted to sit on the other chair with his arms crossed.
“I did. Because I knew how hard Hero Academies were, I cried all the time.”
“Nerd.” He absentmindedly reached for the tea, taking a drink of it black.
“Exactly. When I picked my hero name, Patho, the boys in my class who were the strongest called me Psycho-path.”
He smirked, “Thats pretty good.” He hummed for a minute, “I would have called you Patho-logical.”
Kelly laughed, “Thats thinking out of the box all right - I think you’re probably smarter than most of the adults in this school, Katsuki.”
Now that caught him off guard, and he sipped his tea. Even his own mother didn’t admit things like that to him, “Yeah I know.”
She sipped her own tea, letting that one sit for a minute.
“What kind of cake is in the fridge?”
Bingo.
“Its a lemon cake.”
There was a long pause as he looked out the window, “I like lemon.”
She nodded and stood up, crossing to the little kitchenette area, “Your quirk is really impressive, you know that already I’m sure. I didn’t see any kids last year with a quirk as strong. And you already seem to know exactly how to use it - that puts you ahead of your classmates, Katsuki.”
He nodded, listening for once.
“That makes you… a big brother in some way.”
His ears perked and he looked over from where he stared out the window, “What?”
She set the cake and a fork in front of him and smiled, “That makes you like… a big brother to your class, like a guardian. And with that, like being a great hero, comes with a responsibility to help steer them in a good direction.” If she couldn’t talk to him about his feelings, she could use his ego to manipulate him without him realizing.
He picked up the cake, eating in silence.
“I understand how confusing it must be for you knowing Izuku all your life — when I met him about a month ago, it didnt appear he was much to look at.” “Got that right. Deku’s a loser.”
“But I am too, right?”
He looked up, “Yeah.” He huffed, “But you’re okay to talk to I guess. You’re not stuck up and preachy.”
“All losers have some purpose you know, Katsuki.” She smiled, “Even if its just to give teenage boys lemon cake.”
“So what was going to college like? Probably shitty.”
Keri smiled and ate her own cake, “People there are either quirkiness or have some sort of intelligence quirk - or even ones that aren’t very useful.”
“Like you.”
“Like me.” She nodded, “But I decided to go into a field that helped me use my quirk to its advantage. I mean - think about all the people down on the streets during disasters or villain attacks. They have to be afraid, or sometimes they’re foolish enough to think they can run into battle to help.”
“That nerd Deku did that.”
“I’m there to make sure they stay calm. That no one gets in the hero’s way.”
Bakugo knitted his brows together, “I guess - that’s a good idea.”
“And that’s what I do here too, but its to make sure a young upcoming hero doesn’t get in their own way.”
He looked up.
“You have so much potential, and you’re focusing more on things that don’t benefit your promising career, understand? You want to be the best. You have to focus. You’re a strong guy, Katsuki, the other kids will follow you. If you show them you’re a leader- they’ll follow.”
He finished his cake a cleared his throat, pushing a hand in his hair, cheeks slightly pink, “Is it okay if I get going?”
She nodded, “Of course- its getting late, and you need to train.”
“Yeah, I do.” He nodded, “Uh- thanks for the cake and whatever, Pathological.” He smirked.
Kelly smiled and moved to open the door, “If you ever have any questions or want some snacks or sweets- you know where I am.”
“Yeah. Yeah I— yeah.” He cleared his throat, “See you, nerd.”
“Have a safe walk home, Katsuki.”
The boy left her office and she nodded to herself, feeling like she accomplished something today.
------
After half an hour, Toshinori walked into the room in his small form, “We still on for dinner tonight, Ree?”
Turning she smiled, “Hey— yeah of course,” She nodded.
“You look pleased with yourself… I just saw young Bakugo walking out of the building, did you have him up here?”
She nodded, “Yeah, I had to figure out how to start to establish a report with him… I got through a bit with flattery and self deprecation.”
“Self deprecation!?” He grunted.
She took a deep breath, “He made fun of me and called me a loser, and I let him, and played into it. It slowly got him to ask questions and have a piece of cake so… here’s hoping.”
Sighing Toshinori came to her and wrapped his arms around her, “You’re not a loser.”
Keri held around his thin frame, “I know, Tosh, I’m just trying to use what I know to get through to him, she looked up at him and he kissed her forehead, “Thank you.”
He smiled, “Hey, don’t even mention it, what are friends for? You obviously touched on something with young Bakugo if he sat down and let his guard drop a little,” Sighing gently he nodded, “Come on, let’s act like a tree and leaf.”
“You’re such a goon.”
“You keep saying that.” He smirked, “Watch out or you’re going to give me a complex.”
Keri laughed and wrapped her arm around his, “Come on- lets go.”
“Yes ma’am.”
