R.I.P. one of the better songwriters out of Jersey, Mr. Pat DiNizio. My favorite Smithereens song is “House Where We Used To Live,” which I don’t actually have on vinyl; I’ll have to fix that. In the meantime, this is their best album anyway.

Pat DiNizio, fondatore e cantante della New Jersey Rock band, The Smithereens, è morto martedì in Summit, NJ, aveva 62 anni.

La sua morte è stata annunciata sul sito web della band. Un amico, William King, ha detto che DiNizio era in terapia già a settembre dopo una serie di problemi di salute iniziati nel 2015. Con gli Smithereens realizzò diversi album di successo e non meno di tre US Mainstream Rock top 10 hits:  "Only A Memory", "A Girl Like You" e "Blues Before And After".
