Part of the appeal of raisinpastry is just the idea of like

We all know pastry is part of a cult that's nothing shocking, it's implied she's been part of the order for at least a few years, she's been stripped of her past, her old name, whatever life she lived before. She's been stripped of free will, control, she can't speak the truth of the tower lest she might be killed. She full on is denied most of her freedom, there is no freedom. She ultimately has no one in the order, reverend mother is a manipulate cunt and shadow sister is aggressive, Pastry doesn't have anywhere to go...

And then there's black raisin, who while being tied to her past and name, also had a lack of control over her situation. She was free but she and her village were also living in essentially poverty. Despite the harshness of their situation, black raisin and the others in their small little village are still close, they have a strong familial bond and her dialog shows that trust is an important thing for her.

So there's this air of appeal to them interacting, black raisin being able to help her feel free, detached from the very cult she was living in do long. Form her own thoughts, opinion, bonds and other, maybe pastry uses the name she had before she joined the order, maybe she picks a new one or maybe she doesn't change it at all. With what little we know of pastry we know she's often very tired and does have a moral compass, she can feel conflicted about situations [like the tower or her bond story, which admittedly was funny as fuck]

Black raisin teaching her just...the little things really is smtn that gets me, even if they're things she probably knows the basics of like cooking, I think raisin would try anyway as things like that feel like a thing that means a lot to her. In my fanfic I wrote about crepe feeling frustrated with pastry cuz she just appeared suddenly and is with raisin a lot [ykno, how a kid would feel if their mom was talking w someone?] And crepe then trying to almost prove themself to pastry and ultimately accepting her.

Am I rambling? Yeah probably

But man, this ship has such a warm place in my heart and I think more ppl need to....DO stuff for it
