I wonder how litterally this line can be taken, since it's a pretty ominous thing for tabitha to say.

This is just blind speculation but i wonder when we finally go to church, the whole "everybody in scarlet hollow is missing one or both parents" issue will be addressed since it'll be focusing on tulip's family and the rats.

I wonder if the church episode is gonna end with either Janey or Pastor Daniel dying (Pastor Daniel I'm more worried about, since it seems like scarlet hollow itself dosent want him). Hell, maybe even the dilemma might end up deciding which parent to save, but then the other parent dies.

I also wonder what's the exact reason for why so many scarlet hollow residents loose their parents, I mean no doubt that it probably has to do with the scarlet family (looking at you Enoch) but like why exactly parents?

I mean, with both kaneeka and stella they're parents deaths meant that were trapped in scarlet hollow- so the dead parent stuff could tie into the whole "nobody really leaves scarlet hollow" curse

Stella had her parents up until they tried to drive her out to college, in which they both died and stella was too truamatized to even try to leave the town.

Kaneeka losing her dad meant she had to step up and take care of the general store, therefore trapping her in town.

But I don't think Tabitha being fatherless is necessarily trapping her in the town, her being born a scarlet basically already does that. Maybe it could be the risk of a non scarlet in the family fucking shit up or something idk? It seems like none of the partners of the scarlets are very relevant at all.

Also Tabitha's dad just disappearing might just be more than him just being a deadbeat, he apparently just went no contact and didn't even file for divorce. It's like he just completely vanished into air. Idk him still just being a deadbeat is still possible, I just think its interesting.

Oh and one more thing, I think Mc's dad (or lack of one) could possibly be important. Vivian was panicked when she came to sybil pregnant, and sybil assumed the baby was of result of a fling but that's just her assumption.

Idk, maybe it could just be because of the devs wanting to keep things very vague so the player has the freedom to come up with their back own backstory buuut I wouldn't be surprised if mc was supernaturally convinced similarly to how Joan convinced reese.

Replaying with mystical and motivated when u meet the priest “something compels you to dislike him” made me think of the mystical traits reaction to Sybil and her tea - do u think it could be releated? Mystical seems to suspect he was cursed and in my Keen eye/street smart run if u accuse Sybil of being a witch she doesn’t deny it, only asking to keep it quiet (sorry for the long ask)

I absolutely believe that pastor Daniel is cursed, though I don't know if it's Sybil's doing. Other than the Mystical warning (“something compels you to dislike him”), if you openly tell him than no one likes him (oof) you can find out that he was very popular before coming to Scarlet Hollow. He wants to ask an outsider why he is so disliked because he is genuinely surprised, as he had plenty of friends before. So something changed when he came to this town, and Mystical suggests that this change is magical in nature.

But what caused it? The first suspect is obviously Sybil. She manipulates everyone with her tea, so it would be easy to make people reject him. It would also make sense that she wanted to be the only influence over the people in town, instead of having to compete with the pastor. But is it the tea? This ask gave me the idea to try and see if I would be “put off” by the pastor without ever drinking the tea. So I started another Mystical/TTA playthrough, I never drank the tea, and… something compelled me to dislike him, still!

So it’s not the tea, at least in the player’s case. Sybil could still be amplifying the underlying dislike for the pastor that others have, we don’t know. But the important thing is that Mystical detects something wrong with pastor Daniel even without Sybil’s intervention.

Then something or someone else has cursed Daniel. I think we’ll probably find out what when we go investigate the church. And I am SO looking forward to knowing more about those “rats” that whisper bad things to the pastor’s daughter. It’s so scary!! Maybe the “rats” cursed pastor Daniel?

Another, dark possibility… what if Janey is behind it?

It would be an incredible twist. I guess it’s not very likely since Mystical didn’t detect anything weird about Janey, but she could still be working with someone else, someone with powers. That brings Sybil to mind, again, if she uses abilities other than her tea. Or even the “rats”. Could Janey have made some kind of contract with them?

I don’t rule out Janey completely because there’s something weird about that relationship. I mean, if everyone in Scarlet Hollow hates the pastor, why would anyone marry him? Why doesn’t the curse work on Janey? Honestly, no idea. And I can’t wait to find out, I think whatever is waiting for us in the church will be amazing. It’s probably what I’m most excited about of this game!

What I think the scarlet hollow cast's classes would be if they were suddenly dnd-ifed

Tabitha- a warlock, all scarlets would be warlocks (besides mc who's whatever class the player wants to be) and I'm gonna say their patron is a fiend cause right now it really feels like Enoch made a deal with a devil.

Stella- beast master ranger, her beast companion is Gretchen

Kaneeka- wild magic sorcerer. I choose wild magic because I imagine when kaneeka eventually gets her magical girl awakening, it's gonna be wild and uncontrollable.

Reese- okay hear me out- path of the beast barbarian. The beast form only comes out during an rage for barbarians and I feel like the parraels reese's "strong emotions = monster form" thing. My friend reccomened an lycan bloodhunter too

Avery- druid duh, also the subclass would be circle of the lands forest.

Oscar- wizard due to the whole "you gotta study to get your magic" stuff, a bard could also work since bards can get their power from littature and not just singing. If we're going with wizard then school of abjuration, if we're going with bard then college of lore.

Sybil- druid, circle of spores cause of her fungus tea. Could also be circle of stars

Dr. Kelly- okay this one I had a hard time with since cleric dosent fit, she isn't religious but I don't think sorcerer would fit either. So I'm just gonna say she's a warlock with reese's dad being the patron.

Wayne- warlock of the either fiend or undead variety

Pastor daniel- he's the cleric life domain lol

Thinking about the fact that the Cobras really were in the palm of Johnny’s hand.

Always surrounding him—smiling at everything he did; even if Bobby thought he went too far, he’d still end up smiling.

The way they legit wouldn’t have cared to bother with Daniel or even really noticed him if Johnny hadn’t been so upset at him. Had Tommy not thought it would have been funny to point out the dude Ali was with because just maybe he thought Johnny looked...neat when he was angry.

With the constant touching and unconditional enjoyment for everything he does, I think those boys 100% had some repressed not so platonic feelings about him.

Their characters had so little information about them, but what we do know is that they liked Johnny, one way or the other.

Any predictions for the next SH episode? I just finished chapter 4 and wellll... considering Wayne might be living in the Forbidden Wing, I think he might try to lock us in there to keep us out of trouble?

It would be neat if, based on who you've been hanging out with, your friends try to rescue you, OR a supernatural event happens and you miss it if you don't get out fast enough!

Based on comments Wayne makes if you talk to him at the end of Ep 4, he is past trying to stop us from investigating. He knows we are supernaturally drawn to The Plot and can’t be stopped, so he’s resolved himself to being our bodyguard. He even suggested we investigate the Estate and learn about the Scarlets ourselves at the end of the episode.

Therefore I think Ep 5’s main daytime activity will involve us doing just that. Tabby will be dealing with the strike — and probably with the unearthing of Becka and Alexis in worldstates where they were left in the mines — so will not be available to help us, but many of our other friends will. Wayne will be the default investigative companion, but we’ll have the option to call on one other member of the gang to help us instead. It’s an exploration date!

We will also deal with the fallout of the Reese situation: visiting him in the forest in worldstates where he is alive and free, or visiting Doc and/or a locked-up Reese in the clinic. We might also have an amputee Rosalina develop an infection that requires a doctor’s care — a major downside of worldstates where the town’s only physician is dead! We might also get some expository dialogue from Oscar, who has been researching the Seals. Good job research buddy!

Then there comes the evening event, which I believe will take place at the church and involve Tulip’s “rat” “friends,” along with Kaneeka awakening to her burgeoning magical power. The major choice will be letting Sybil drain her daughter for some kind of greater good — this would also de-age Sybil into a hottie, facilitating her romance — freeing Kaneeka from her mother’s control and allowing future badness to happen, or using Mystical to maintain the magic without sacrificing Kaneeka.

I’m sure of one thing: there are plenty of surprises left in store for us!
