The motel room was stuffy to say the least - that usual aroma of stale cigarettes and cheap air freshener lingering around us. There was a dripping sound coming from God knows where and the AC hummed in between the concerning clinking from deep within the vents. It was crap. So crap. But it was home for a few nights; just like all the motel rooms that came before. Dean stepped past me and over the threshold, immediately slinging his duffle and jacket onto his chosen bed. He stretched his arms above his head, the grey Henley clutching his muscular abdomen and rising enough to flaunt what lay beneath. I sighed, following him in and slumping onto the bed beside his - the musty stench from the sheets enveloping me.
“Well…” Dean started, pulling Sam's laptop out of his bag and placing it on the small table by the window.
“Well…?” My voice echoed as I focused on the ceiling fan that spun off centre.
“...This is… nice?” His statement was more of a question as he looked around with raised eyebrows. I propped myself up on my elbows, flashing him a look of speculation.
“Seriously?” A moment passed before he huffed a long-held breath and slapped his large palms on his thighs.
“No of course not, this place sucks more dick than a hooker on payday.”
“You got that right,” I flopped back down onto the bed, a small dust cloud erupting under my weight. I closed my eyes and listened as Dean pulled a chair out from under the table, slumping down into it. Then there was the familiar click of the laptop opening followed by the sound of stuttered not-quite-touch-typing, presumably he was starting work on the case that we’d come here to investigate. The tap tap tap of whatever was leaking began to drill into my brain, my patience already wearing thin with the rooms dire ambiance. I pulled myself up to sitting, criss-crossing my legs on the bed and brushing whatever that dust from the bedding was off my sweater sleeves.
“When's Sam back?” I asked, watching as Dean searched the keyboard in front of him for some long lost letter.
“Uuuh, I'm not sure. He said to work this case without him.”
“Ugghhh, I bet he's having way more fun than us right now, it's not fair,” I plopped my chin into my palm and stared past the older Winchester out the window, almost willing Sam to appear and walk in like any other day.
“It's just some dumb wedding, I doubt he's having that much fun.”
I scoffed before I could stop myself, Dean breaking eye contact with the screen to throw me a raised eyebrow.
“Look,” I collected myself, “you didn't know Sam in college. He won't admit it but he was popular. Really popular. Not the total nerd you think he is. He's absolutely having fun with these people.”
“Yeah right. So who's at this wedding anyway? Why was it so important that he just had to be there?”
I rolled my eyes, knowing full well Sam had already told him all the details. Typical Dean.
“It's for a couple of friends who he and Jess were close with back then. Pretty sure the bride was prom queen in highschool or something and the groom was a trust fund jock. Either way, not my crowd,” I sighed slightly, memories from my college days flooding my mind.
Deans eyebrows twitched into a small frown, his thoughts seeming to cloud his vision for a second before he reluctantly dismissed them. I looked down into my lap for a moment, reminiscing how I always kept my distance from Sam whilst at Stanford, but he had always been that boy that would make my heart flutter when he spoke up in class or when I'd see him on the quad with his friends. I remember seeing him with his nose in a book once at my usual desk in the library, my cheeks burning when he caught me staring. Who would've thought several years down the line I'd be sat in a bottom-rung motel room with his obscenely good looking older brother researching monster lore. At least we would be researching monster lore, if it wasn't for the small growl my empty stomach had gurgled out. I couldn't stop the small pulse of embarrassment burning into my cheeks as Dean eyed me with a grin.
“Wanna get some lunch?” He asked, standing up like he already knew my answer.
“Fuck yes. I'm feeling burgers,” I shuffled to the edge of the bed and stood up, watching as Dean shrugged on his leather jacket and headed to the door, holding it open for me.
“Now you're speaking my language.”
*
The diner was almost as sad and withered as the motel room, however the food was nothing short of spectacular. I watched in awe as Dean polished off his second burger, a small glob of sauce sticking to his stubble and threatening to drip off his chin. He must've felt me watching in wonder - or perhaps disgust - as when he looked up from his plate he shot me a questioning glance.
“What?” His tone was a little defensive through the mouthful of fries he'd just shovelled in. I took a second before asking, half-genuine:
“Where do you put all of that?”
“Put what?”
“The food - where does it go? Do you have hollow legs? Two stomachs? Does it just evaporate as soon as you swallow it?”
He grinned, wiping the sauce from his face with a napkin.
“Goes straight to the abs baby. It's muscle fuel,” he leant back in his chair, stretching a little before patting his stomach to punctuate his statement. I simply rolled my eyes.
“Yeah right, you're not that muscly Dean.”
“How would you know? You've never seen me with my shirt off.”
“I know, and I plan to keep it that way.”
He feigned a pout before returning to his fries. We ate in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, my mind absently going back to all the lore we should be trying to gather. I gripped my milkshake that had so generously been served in a thin paper cup, attempting to suck the practically solid beverage up the equally thin paper straw. Finding the nearest library would be the next task on our to-do list, despite the protesting I know I'll get from Dean.
“Hey, (Y/n)?” My train of thought was derailed at the sound of my name. The slurping of over-thickened milkshake from myself ceased.
“What's up?”
“What were you like in college?”
I eyed him with caution, wondering what part of his brain was in control right now.
“What do you wanna know?”
Catching the wariness to divulge him to such information, he smiled slightly, shrugging his shoulders.
“I'm not asking to be weird, I just-” he paused, choosing his next words tactfully, “the way you described Sam as being a totally different person - some hot-shot with the perfect grades, popular friends and a girlfriend like Jess - it just got me thinking. How would Sam have described you?”
I almost spat my dairy-goop back into the straw, my brain freezing.
“Dean,” I started before planning what I was going to say, placing my cup on the table. “Sam wouldn't be able to describe me.”
My words brought a small smirk to his lips.
“You were that hot, huh?”
“What the fuck- no- I wasn't- he didn't- Sam never- ” I stopped myself before I had an aneurysm and took a deep breath.
“I was in a totally different crowd to Sam. He was always surrounded by people and, well, I barely even had a crowd.”
“Lone wolf?”
“Bingo. But definitely not the cool, collected, stoic type. Think more, invisible to the public eye, always carrying books, and borderline selective mute because of how shy I was.”
“Oh… what changed?,” Deans tone changed entirely, genuine intrigue seeming to take the wheel. I couldn't help but laugh slightly, remembering my method to forcing myself out of my bubble.
“The only job I could get was in a bar. No one else wanted the hours and I desperately needed cash. I didn't really have a choice after that,” I paused, remembering how terrified I was on my first day and grinned slightly, grateful for the extra confidence I had now because I took that leap.
“Hey, what sort of crowd do you think I would've been in?”
I snorted, looking up into his expectant eyes - almost captivated by the glistening greens.
“What am I? A BuzzFeed quiz? I have no idea Dean, you're too much of a wildcard to predict. You probably would've fit in with anyone and everyone.”
“Even you?”
For reasons unbeknownst to even myself, my breath caught in my throat. The sudden soft sincerity of his voice contradicting his usual temperament, my heart starting to flutter in my chest. If the college version of myself had met Dean back then I just know I would have been enthralled at first glance.
“I don't think you would've noticed me. You would've been surrounded by every tall, thin blonde and brunette with perfect tits. Trust me, you would've been distracted,” I smiled an almost sad smile at the thought of him simply being on university grounds and having the time of his life - knowing it was something that he was never going to get the chance to experience in this upside down life of his. Of ours. He tapped his fingers on the table for a second, likely lost in some ludicrous thought I don't think I'd want to be privy to. I attempted another slurp of my milkshake when the paper straw gave out and flopped in half, the need to leave conversation and the diner suddenly looming over me.
“Come on, let's get to the library before it closes,” I stood and pulled my oversized sweater down so it covered my ass before reaching for my backpack. Just as my fingers touched the worn fabric of the strap it was torn away, my head snapping up to Dean who flung it over one shoulder with his signature grin on his face.
“Lead the way nerd.”
I couldn't help but beam at his playfulness. I hated the fact that he made it so easy to adore him. Hated that he completely overlooked how I was his total opposite in almost every way. How when we were talking, his eyes never left mine - how he was genuinely interested in what I was like in the past. And how, when I had his attention, he didn't even notice that the hot waitress had written her number on a napkin and left it next to him.
*
The trip to the library was about as eventful as it sounded. After checking out multiple books on cursed items, local lore and popular antiques from the seventies, we loaded ourselves back into the impala, made an all-important beer run before heading back to the motel.
The small table by the window was now totally smothered by a blanket of books, maps and empty beer bottles. Deans chin rested in his palms as he stared blankly at the screen in front of him, and I must've read the last sentence of the paragraph laid before me a dozen times without it even sinking in. The obnoxious dripping and humming of ancient appliances was starting to make me feel restless.
“It has to be the boots,” Dean groaned, draining the last of his beer.
“Either the boots or the disco ball. But my money is on boots as well,” I sighed, pushing the book away from me and standing slowly, gathering the quickly accumulating litter now scattered around us.
“I'm gonna make some coffee, my brain is fried over how fucking ridiculous this case is,” I ditched the trash in the bin before filling the coffee machine, listening to it whir to life whilst I headed to my bed. I could feel Deans gaze on my back as I rummaged around my bag in search of a specific item.
“What are you looking fo-” he'd started to ask the question but his voice died in his throat when I turned around. I quickly pushed my newly adorned glasses up the bridge of my nose, already feeling the oversized frame start to slip down as I tried not to make a big deal over them.
“What?” My tone was a fraction off aggressive when I realised he was staring. He seemed to snap out of his daze, quickly rubbing the back of his neck and turning back to the laptop screen. He cleared his throat
“I uh, I didn't know you wore glasses,” I could tell from the slight tremble in his voice that his mind was reeling.
“Is there a problem with that?”
“No! I mean, no, absolutely not. They look good. The glasses, I mean. The glasses look good. Not on their own, obviously. On your face. They look good on your face. You have a great fa-”
“Dean?”
“Yeah?”
“Shut up.”
“Sorry.”
I grabbed a mug from the cupboard and set it on the counter, filling it to the brim with caffeinated goodness. I couldn't stop the grin spreading across my lips at Deans fumbling, almost finding the whole ordeal a little charming. I sat back down at the table and pulled the books back towards me, also grabbing my pen and tattered notebook.
“The guests at the club mentioned hearing footsteps - so it has to be the boots, right? A disco ball wouldn't make that sound…” my voice trailed off when I realised that, even though Dean was looking at me, he wasn't listening to a word I was saying.
“Earth to Dean?”
He flinched slightly at his name, but felt no shame delving in with a completely off-topic question.
“So how long have you worn glasses?”
“I’ve always worn them,” I slid back into my chair at the table opposite him, not sure whether to laugh at the shocked expression on his face or whether to be concerned about his observation skills.
“What?! No way, I would’ve noticed,” He opened another beer and took a sip before tracing the opening to the bottle over his bottom lip.
“ I only wear them for concentration work, and I have emergency contact lenses if I know I’m going to be around a lot of people as I don’t particularly like how they look.”
Dean made a small disagreeable expression before averting his gaze from mine back to the laptop, taking another swig of his beer. I placed my coffee mug down and settled back into the book I was reading before, and after a few moments I could feel my skin begin to prickle - as though I could feel a pair of eyes on me. I glanced up, my breath immediately catching in my throat. Deans eyes found mine, burning with an intensity that made my heart hammer in my chest. I didn’t want to look away, but under his gaze I felt like I’d been stripped bare, unable to hide my insecurities from an eye that seemed to scorch through to my very core.
“Dean-”
“(Y/n), you should really have more confidence in yourself; I think the glasses look cute as fuck. You should wear them more,” a fierce blush erupted across my face when he spoke, his assured tone leaving no room for disagreement. I tried desperately not to let on that his words held any sort of impact over my decisions so I looked down, away from his scrutiny and simply said:
“Maybe I will.”
He hummed in approval, finally looking elsewhere and I couldn’t stop myself from breathing a sigh of relief when the pressure of his stare was averted.
The evening dragged on and an hour and a half had passed since his loaded comment. I was on the third book we’d checked out of the library, now trying desperately to find the curse that would cause a pair of 1970s glam rock boots to dance for eternity and haunt anyone who tried to wear them. This case was absurd, and I could feel myself growing restless with the small amount of progress we’d made. I huffed out a sigh and leant back in my chair, the faux leather and rusted metal creaking under my weight. Pulling the hair bobble from around my wrist I scooped my hair into a bundle on the top of my head, securing it in place; the sensation of air on my neck seemed to clear some of the fog from my brain. The messy bun was comfortably enough that I could forget it was there, and I allowed myself a stretch before leaning back over the table, grasping my pen. As I began to read the next segment, I absently traced the end of the pen over my bottom lip, running it back and forth a few times before gently nibbling on the end. I heard the shuffling of Dean moving in his seat and a ragged clearing of his throat before the sound of vigorous laptop keys clicking ensued. Without looking up at him I continued reading, the pen still tapping my bottom lip, and when I neared the bottom of the paragraph, I slowly licked the pad of my index finger. My eyes never leaving the words, I turned the page swiftly with my dampened digit, the transition from one page to the next perfectly seamless. Another shuffle from the man opposite followed by a quiet groan filled the silence between us. Pen still between my teeth, I lifted only my eyes to glance at him and noted the dusting of pink across his cheeks and the furrow in his brow. Concluding that he’d had one too many beers I decided to ignore his persistent fidgeting, returning to my previous task on monotonous reading. Several sentences in and I’d almost forgotten Deans restlessness - that was until I pulled my bottom lip between my teeth, deep in thought, that I earned myself a throaty groan and an exasperated sigh. I looked up just in time to watch him wipe a large hand down his face, momentarily masking his pained expression.
“Can you not do that? I can’t concentrate when you do that.”
“Do what?” Upon asking my question I absently took the pen between my teeth again, quickly glancing down at the book to place a mental bookmark.
“That.”
“What?”
“That. That thing you do with our mouth, and the pen, and your tongue and your finger. Can you please stop before it kills me.”
The heat beneath my skin was immediate at his admission, knowing my small, absent-minded actions were playing on his mind and making it hard for him to think straight. I instinctively crossed my legs, a fluttering in my lower belly instantly dragging my mind back to the deprived things I’d imagined Dean doing to me in the depths of night. The places I’d imagined his hands travelling, the areas his lips would touch and the sensations his tongue could create. These were deeply, deeply personal fantasies, and right now as Dean looked at me with a restrained hunger, I felt like I was wearing these fantasies for the world to see. For Dean to see.
“It doesn’t help that you’ve been sat over there like a sexy fucking librarian all evening, but every time you do that anything with that mouth - shit, sweetheart you’re driving me insane.” His voice was gravelly as he looked at me with desperate eyes across the table. The overly rational part of my brain had shut down completely, and now the part of my mind that had spent hours conjuring vivid scenes of Dean Winchester ravishing me in my entirety had taken the charge. I stood slowly, taking a moment to reason with myself - unsuccessfully of course - before sinking to my knees in front of my chair. I could see Deans strong thighs were spread wide beneath the table so I crawled forwards, across the cold tiles and placed myself between his legs. Resting my palms softly on his thighs I made him flinch at the unexpected contact. He immediately scooted his chair back, allowing a gap for me to poke my head through - his hand instantly acting as a barrier between the edge of the table and my skull. I got comfortable and allowed myself a moment to gaze up at him, to take in the strained furrow in his brow and the parting of his lips. I observed the way his chest rose and fell in apprehensive breaths, and the way his free hand clenched into a fist on his thigh - like he was so desperate yet so scared to touch me.
“(Y/n)-”
“Dean,” I spoke softly, slowly running my hands up his thighs - delicate palms against rough denim, “you’re a smart boy - you know I wouldn’t do something I didn’t want to do. So please, don’t say I don’t have to do this.”
Dean released a shaky breath the moment my fingers unclasped his jeans. I tugged them down slightly with his help, just enough so I could dip my hand into his boxers and wrap my fingers around his half-hard length. The moment my skin touched his, his head lolled back and his eyes fluttered closed with a breathy moan on his lips.
“Fuck…”
I gently pulled him from his confines, coming face to face with the cock I’d literally dreamt of again and again. I took the scene in, committing to memory the sharp outline of his jaw and the way his long lashes rested on his lightly-freckled cheeks. The way that, every time he breathed in, I could see his defined muscle tone through the thin fabric of his shirt; and with every small caress that my fingers made against his length, it made his fingers twitch and teeth clench. I licked my lips before leaning in and took his tip into my mouth, not giving him a chance to finish sucking in air through his teeth before I plunged his entire length down my throat.
“Oh FUCK.”
His hands flew to my hair, fingers gripping tight as they loosened strands from the messy bun, causing them to fall around my face. He’d lifted his head to look down at me, pupils blown as he pulled his bottom lip between his teeth. He looked nothing more than enthralled. Infatuated. Entranced. I moved my head up and down, up and down, again and again to a steady rhythm, pressing my tongue to the underside of his now rock-hard cock to trace every vein and nerve-ending.
“Shit, (Y/n), I didn’t know you could suck cock, like, at all… how’re you s’fuckin’ good…” his voice was breathless as he continued to grip my hair, his head flopping to the side as pleasure started to overcome his senses. I released him with a small ‘pop’, wrapping my fingers around him and smearing the warm mixture of saliva and precum from tip to base.
“Despite everything I told you earlier, Dean, I’m not a virgin - and this certainly isn’t my first rodeo,” my voice came out more sultry than I’d expected and I could feel Dean tremble beneath my palms.
“Fuck, I wish I’d known that sooner,” I chewed on my bottom lip, quickly becoming addicted to the way he writhed at my touch. The way he moaned and gripped my hair tighter when I sucked him back into my mouth was like pure ecstasy, my insides heating up and throbbing with an ache of familiar arousal. Like a thirst that could only be satisfied by him. By tasting him, feeling him on my tongue and drinking in every sound that passed his plush parted lips. The sensation of my glasses slipping down my nose as I sped up my ministrations had me reaching to push them back up, but not before Dean beat me to it. With the rough pad of his thumb he pushed on the plastic bridge, his palm and fingers pressed to my flushed cheek in the most tender, almost heart wrenching caress. I thought my heart might stop when he tilted my face up to his; lustful eyes burning into mine with a vehemence I’d never encountered. I stopped in my tracks, all actions ceased as the spell he’d somehow put me under wouldn’t let me look away.
“If you keep going like that darlin’ this whole thing is gonna be over before you know it,” his voice was raspy, a rawness to it from the harsh breaths and ragged moans that had been pulled from his throat. He slowly pulled his cock from my spit-slick lips and grasped it loosely, giving himself a few lazy pumps whilst his other hand never left my face. He stared down at me, taking a few moments as though he was committing the sight of me, knelt between his knees with flushed cheeks and swollen lips to memory. Once it seemed that memory was locked away in the depths of his mind, he grasped me by the arm and pulled me effortlessly into his lap, his fingers almost bruising against my skin. Immediately I felt him, in his entirety, press against me with the heat and wetness seeping through my jeans and past my panties. This time when our eyes met, there was a mutual desperation; a need to consume each other and to feel every inch of his heated skin against mine. He pulled me frantically down to him and crashed his lips against mine.
Some people describe their first kiss with someone like butterflies in their stomach, or fireworks exploding all around them. That wasn’t at all what this was like. Kissing Dean Winchester was different - it was wild and untamed - and describing this experience in such a mundane way would be like adding water to a top-shelf whiskey. Kissing Dean Winchester was like driving the impala at one thirty with the roar of the engine drowning out the rest of the world. It was like trying to ride a wild mustang without a saddle, or daring to stand on the highest peak on Earth with nothing to tie you down. It was exhilarating in the most dangerous way imaginable - and I was now officially a thrill seeker.
The warm taste of the beer on his tongue and the masculine scent of old leather and cologne was pulling me under. Breathing no longer mattered as long as his mouth was on mine and his fingers were in my hair, now tugging the bobble out and throwing it to the floor. As my hair tumbled free he grabbed under my thighs and stood effortlessly, moving me from his lap to the edge of the table without his lips leaving mine. I winced slightly as the corners and several books and the laptop jabbed into my rear and I fumbled to move everything aside, failing when I refused to unlock our lips. Deans patience was non-existent and with one sweep of his strong arm everything tumbled to the floor - including the laptop. I threw the remaining books from underneath me down to join them, no longer caring for their wellbeing. Before I could pull Dean back in - to allow him to do whatever the fuck he wanted to do to me - he hastily pulled off my boots and tugged down my jeans, throwing every item to the growing pile of chaos beside us. I discarded my sweater and top, but before I let his fingers touch my bra I wanted nothing more than to return the favour.
“I guess you can forget about that whole ‘never seeing me shirtless’ thing, huh?” he smirked through the sexual fog, not waiting for a reply as his lips hungrily found mine again, his own top falling to the floor.
“Shut up Winchester. Now are you gonna fuck me or wh- OH FUCK-”
Two thick fingers crept under my panties and plunged into me with zero hesitation, curling up and stroking the sensual cushion deep within my core with skillful precision.
“Oh yeah? You want me to fuck you?” Even with my face now buried in the crook of his neck, I could hear the smirk in his voice, the tormenting tone going straight to my brain.
“Y-yes- fuck- please,” my knees twitched either side of him, squeezing at his hips with every push of his fingers. I gripped his shoulders tight, nails indenting his skin as I leant back to look at him better. Seeing the beads of sweat on his chest and brow alongside the raw, carnal desire in his eyes could have undone me there and then. He frowned in disapproval when I moved to remove my glasses, the fingers that were just inside me now wrapped forcefully around my wrist.
“What d’ya think you’re doing?” straight away I knew his growling question left no room for negotiation.
“I was just-”
“The glasses stay on.”
“To the end?”
“‘Til I say you can take them off.”
I did as I was told, moving my hand to grip the soft strands on the back of his neck, softly dragging my nails over his scalp and drawing a shiver from his spine and a groan from his lungs. He pulled me against him, crushing his lips against mine one more time. He swiftly pulled away and I leant back on my hands, both of us taking a moment to drink each other in - to bask in lascivious glory. I pulled my bottom lip between my teeth and looked up at him through my lashes, the lenses of my glasses starting to fog around the edges. Another deep moan rumbled from his chest as his heated gaze stayed locked to mine.
“I can’t wait any longer now that you’ve looked at me like that. Fuck.”
With a large hand gripping the soft flesh of my thigh he pulled my underwear to one side and lined himself up, slowly sinking in. Blissful moans harmonised between us, the rawness of him stretching me was unlike anything I’d ever experienced and my quivering thighs wrapped around him, pushing him to the hilt. He secured his large hands on the soft flesh of my hips and held me in place as he slowly withdrew. I could feel him; feel every ridge and vein drag out and then in, out and in, over my most sensitive, intimate, area. The slick sounds of our intimacy  began to echo around the room as he picked up speed, strong thighs working at a feverish pace. With every thrust he pushed against that one spot that made my legs jerk and eyes water, my arms almost giving out underneath me as the table rattled beneath my weight. With the ferocity of his pounding and the heightened sensitivity he’d curated between my legs only moments before, we both knew that neither of us would last long. The sounds of his ragged breaths and throaty moans alone had me clenching around him already, and I know my constricting muscles already had his hips stuttering as I sucked him in with every thrust.
“Fuck (Y/n)- You’re so fuckin’ tight-”
I chewed on my bottom lip as his desperate eyes met mine.
“Oh yeah? Well I feel like you’re cock is in my fucking ribcage- oh fuck-”
He slipped one hand between us, his large palm resting on my lower belly as his thumb drew fast circles around my clit. The immediate contact on my bundle of nerves had my whole body quivering, the knot of an impending climax already starting to twist tighter and tighter in the depths of my core. The way that Dean fucked me into the motel room table was something that I would be able to feel deep in my soul for the rest of my life - my body and entire nervous system having never been worked in such a feral way before. Dean dropped forward and crushed my body into his - one large strong arm wrapped around my trembling body and kept me pressed against him as his head dropped to the crook of my neck. Soft lips pressed hot kisses against my shoulder, teeth gently nibbling the soft flesh as the coil wound and wound, the wave of orgasmic bliss rising higher and higher as my mind emptied, leaving behind only one thought.
Dean.
He was all consuming - all I could see, taste and smell. All I could feel. Oh God could I feel him; driving me to the brink of pure bliss as he frantically sped up - desperate to seek his own undoing as well as my own. One… two… three more fervid thrusts and the peak he’d helped me ascend to shattered around me as I practically screamed his name, the white-hot euphoria scorching my insides as I clamped like a vice around him.
“Oh shit- (Y/n) I can’t- fuck-”
I grabbed the back of his head and pushed his mouth to mine as he came undone, spilling inside me as he worked through his own white-hot euphoria.
The kiss we shared evolved from hot and needy to soft and wanting - the sensation of hot cum running down the inside of my thigh and cooling against my skin being the only thing to pull me away. Dean continued to lean over me for a moment, looking down at me with an expression that told me he had so much he wanted to say. Instead, he looked down at his release now starting to pool on the floor beneath us, then to the books and laptop that had been thrown across the floor before turning back to face me with the most devilish grin on his face.
“You know that this mess is all your fault, right?”
I scoffed.
“My fault? How is it my fault?”
“Because, sweetheart…” he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and pushed lightly on the plastic bridge sitting on my nose.
“You put on on those fucking glasses.”

It was later than he’d liked by the time he finally got back to the motel. With muscles that ached from the day’s strain, brain fogged from how tired he was, Sam honestly just wanted to call his girlfriend and talk to her until he fell asleep.
He’d meant to text her a couple of hours prior to let her know the hunt was dragging on longer than expected, but his phone had fucking died when he and Dean were two hours into their trek into the woods to find the pack of werewolves they were hunting, and he’d been pretty miserable ever since.
Dean had disappeared off to the nearest bar after dropping Sam off at their room so he thankfully had the place to himself to mope around as he plugged his phone into the charger and showered whilst he waited for it to get some power. The shitty water pressure and barely lukewarm water did nothing for his aching back, so he was even more agitated by the time he got himself settled onto the uncomfortable mattress twenty minutes later, hair wet and skin still damp beneath his clothes with his eagerness to call her.
As much as he hated being away from her for so long, and too often, it was the safest thing to do. Sam wouldn't be able to forgive himself if something happened to her because she was too close to his shit. He still had dreams about Jess, about how that was all his fault. He couldn’t let it happen again.
His phone hadn’t even reached twenty percent but he was impatient and shuffled over to the edge of the bed so the phone cord would reach and held the phone to his ear as he called her, propped himself up against the headboard.
The phone didn’t even ring twice before she answered.
“Sam?”
“Hey, baby.” The words came out in an exhale, most of the tension left him just at the sound of her voice, the ache seeping out of his bones like a relief. It was what kept him sane whenever he was away. Her picture in his wallet, her hair tie on his wrist, her voice in his ear.
“Hi, Sammy. Got worried when you didn’t call on time.”
He winced at the thought. She worried for him, of course she did. Sam understood how horrible it must have felt for her, knowing what he was going off to do. He could only imagine the dread that must’ve curled inside of her whenever he was late calling. Too many things had happened in the past, too many things could still go wrong.
“Sorry, my phone died when we were still out, didn’t get back until way later than I thought,” he groaned, sank down the headboard a little to stretch out on the bed. The agitation still hadn’t quite left him, the stiffness in his muscles prominent. He wanted nothing more than to curl up with her in his arms and he couldn’t have it. “Miss you, honey.”
He could hear the smile in her voice as she responded, “Missed you more. Wish you were here, it’s cold at night without you in bed too.”
He snorted a quiet laugh. “That’s why you miss me?”
“Mhm,” she giggled, though her voice turned a little coy as she murmured, “among other reasons.”
“Yeah?” An automatic smile was curling at his mouth.
Another little giggle through the receiver. He didn’t even need to see her to know that she had that little bashful smile on her face. He also knew exactly what was on her mind, it was on his too.
It wasn’t the first time they’d have done this. He was on the road so often that their sex life wasn’t as amazing as it could have been, and it wasn’t like he didn’t pleasure himself when he was away on hunts anyways.
There had been many many evenings he’d spent in the shower, hot water rolling down his back as he had one hand pressed to the tiled wall whilst the other pumped his cock until his cum was washed down the drain along with his shampoo bubbles. It wasn’t ideal — bottom lip tucked between his teeth to stifle the heaving breaths and quiet groans, trying to get off as fast as he could before the hot water could run out or Dean could get back to the room. It was even worse when it became a result of having her on the phone. There had been many occasions where her soft voice and giggles in his ear had been enough to get him hard, on nights when he was really missing her and it had just been too long since he’d kissed her.
It turned out she did the same as him. Though when Sam pictured it, it was a lot more graceful than his time in the shower. Laid out all pretty on their bed, legs spread, fingers wet with her own arousal as her head tipped back against the pillows. Sometimes if he got a little selfish he pictured her voice all whimpery saying his name as she came, but he couldn’t get lost in that daydream often, or he’d get hard over that, too.
“Miss you,” she breathed again, and the shift in her tone was palpable. “I… I tried touching myself earlier but I couldn’t cum without you on the phone.”
The groan that left him was automatic and his cock throbbed, hardening beneath the material of his boxers. The idea that she couldn’t even get off without his voice in her ear did wonders for him, it was a wonder his ego wasn’t too big already.
“You need my help, honey?” He crooned into the phone, settled into the tone of voice he knew she liked to hear, the voice he used more often than not when he was whispering in her ear, hips slotted between her thighs, rolling in a rhythm that left her whiney and panting.
Her soft little “mhm” was enough for him to move his other hand down and palm himself, hissing in a breath through his teeth.
“Go ahead and lay down for me, pretty girl. Wanna tell me what you’re wearing?”
There was the rustling of sheets over the phone before her voice spoke up again, “Just one of your shirts.”
Another groan. “You trying to kill me, baby?”
She giggled and his cock twitched beneath his palm. Jesus Christ he needed to get back to her, he needed her in person, to sate the need that wouldn’t be doused thoroughly enough over the phone.
“Go ahead and spread your legs for me, sweetheart,” he breathed, palming his cock again as he spoke, eyes squeezing shut as his head knocked back against the headboard. “Did you get yourself all worked up earlier, hm? Are you all soaked already?”
There was another hum, though he could hear the way her breathing had deepened, deep and heavy in his ear. He could picture the tickle of her breath on his face, the shape of her lips, the taste of her mouth after she’d just brushed her teeth. He needed her.
“Why don’t you start touching yourself for me?” He murmured, voice low with his arousal. Her resounding moan was enough for his cock to throb again and his hand finally dipped beneath his waistband, freeing himself with a quiet groan.
“Are you touching yourself too?” She whimpered, and it was a miracle he didn’t just cum there and then.
“Yeah,” his hand lifted and he tipped his head down to spit into his palm, groaning softly the next time he pumped his cock. “Yeah I am, dolly. Your pretty voice got me all worked up— fuck.” He breathed out the word between his teeth. He was already leaking pre-cum, thumbing over the head of his cock in a move that made him shudder, though it felt nice when she did it. Stroked his cock with her pretty hands, her pretty lips that wrapped around his head when she was on her knees for him, licking along the length of his dick in a way that always made him weak in the knees.
She moaned again and his hips jerked, rutting into his hand with a filthy groan. “How’re you feeling, honey?”
She whimpered, and Sam felt another dribble of pre-cum slide down the length of his cock. “Good— mm, good, j’st—” she took in a shaky breath, “feels better when it’s you, baby.”
“Oh yeah?” He grunted, pumping his cock just a little faster. “Why’s that, dolly?”
“Bigger hands,” she breathed. “longer fingers.”
Sam moaned, the idea of his fingers nestled deep in her wet heat enough for his cock to throb in his hand, and he knew he wouldn’t last long. But from the sounds of her pretty little whimpers, neither would she. “Can’t fill that pretty pussy up as nice as I can, hm?” He took in a shuddering breath. “Play with your clit for me, sweetheart.”
He could hear the moment she did, the sharp inhale, the whimpery moan, the rustling of the sheets as she, undoubtedly, spread her legs wider. “Oh god, Sammy—”
“Are you close, sweetheart?”
All he got in response was a high-pitched “uh-huh.”
“That’s it— shit, that’s it, baby,” he panted, pumping his cock faster, moaning softly as his head arched back. “Go on, dolly, make some pretty sounds for me as you cum, won’t you? M’gonna cum just thinking about you making such a mess of yourself, c’mon, baby—” he was practically begging between sharp breaths.
It only took a moment before he heard her sharp inhale and the whine that followed, and all it took was a few more quick ruts into his hand and the sounds of her before he groaned her name, toes curled and eyelids scrunched as he came. He could feel the evidence of his orgasm dribbling down his cock and his fingers as he shucked a few more times, hissing through his teeth as he finally stopped.
“Oh sweetheart,” he breathed, panting, not unlike her heavy breaths into the phone. “You sounded so fucking pretty, honey. That feel good for you?”
She took a shuddery breath and hummed again. “Yeah, thanks baby.”
Sam couldn’t help the breathy chuckle. “Don’t need to thank me,” he murmured. “M’always gonna take care of my girl, even if I’m not there. You made quite a mess of me, too.”
She breathed a laugh, and a moment passed of just their shared breathing as they both calmed down. Sam’s cock had softened completely against his abdomen, and he’d have to change his clothes and have another shower, but fuck was it worth it.
“I’ll be on my way back to you tomorrow,” he promised once his breathing had mostly evened out. “Should be with you before dinner, then you get me all to yourself.”
She yawned into the phone before mumbling, “Good, want you back to me as soon as possible.”
The sound of her so sleepy just left him so soft. “I promise I will be,” he breathed. “Why don’t you get some sleep, okay honey? I’ll call you in the morning when we’re on the road.”
“Okay,” her voice had completely softened, coated in a sickly-sweet fondness that left him putty in her hands. “I love you. Get back to me safe, okay?”
“I always do,” Sam smiled. “I love you too. Night, gorgeous.”
She yawned her own goodbye before the line went dead, and he let the phone drop back down onto the mattress with a heavy breath.
Just one more day, then he could have her in person, help her in all the ways he wanted to on the phone.

you wished you’d just kept your mouth shut.
how could a few sentences feel like they’d practically ruined your whole life? as dramatic as it sounded, it felt true. in the midst of telling the girls about your infatuation with josh, he had somehow overheard the entire thing.
you were all gathered on the sam’s bed, each of you wrapped up in blankets and pillows, dressed in mismatched pyjamas. the night had been full of laughs and cosy chats, all of you too wired to sleep. it started innocently enough.
it started off with jess teasing ashley about her oh so obvious crush on chris, sam ends up spilling about a lame attempt at a bad pickup line a guy had used on her from the other night.
it felt natural, easy, like the kind of conversation you’ve all had a hundred times before.
then, somehow, the conversation turned to you.
“so, who do you have your eye on?” jess had asked, eyebrows raised.
your cheeks warmed as you tried to brush it off. “no one special, really…”
“liar!” emily grinned, nudging you. “we’ve all seen the googly eyes you’ve had whenever you’ve been texting lately. spill!”
with everyone watching, it felt impossible not to tell them. so, you sighed, gave a half hearted shrug, and said, “okay, fine… it’s josh.”
the room went silent, then burst into an eruption of delighted squeals and whispers. excited about their excitement, you let yourself share the details, all those moments that had been replaying in your mind over and over again.
the way he’d remember your coffee order without asking, the times he’d stayed up texting you when you knew he had an early morning the next day, his habit of giving you his hoodie whenever he noticed you were cold, even if it meant he’d end up shivering.
“so what are you waiting for?” sam grinned. “tell him how you feel!”
“oh, yeah, right,” you laughed, trying to play it off. “i’m sure he’s dying to know his best friend is totally in love with him. no way.”
and then you heard it. a small sound from outside the door. a creak of the floorboard.
every head turned as you realised, too late, that the door was slightly ajar, and a shadow lingered just outside.
the shadow shifted, then josh stepped forward, his face unreadable in the dim light filtering from the hall. he looked straight at you, a strange mixture of surprise and something else in his eyes.
your stomach dropped. “josh?” you barely managed to say, voice caught somewhere between disbelief and horror. “were you… listening?”
he took a breath, looking like he was about to say something, then stopped, eyes flicking away for a split second before they found you again. “i… i didn’t mean to eavesdrop.”
everyone on the bed froze, waiting, probably holding their breath the same way you were. you felt the burning of their gazes, felt them all waiting for something, anything, to fill the silence.
but josh’s expression shifted, and whatever softness you thought you’d glimpsed vanished. “i don’t feel the same way about you.” he said finally, his voice flat, almost careful.
"i... didn’t mean for you to think that,” josh said, voice barely above a whisper.
the words were a gut punch. the room felt like it was closing in, the walls and ceiling somehow both too close and too far away. you barely registered the worried looks from emily, jess, sam, and ashley. their attempts at lighthearted comments and gentle pats on your shoulder felt hollow, too late to cushion the blow.
you swallowed hard, fighting back the rising lump in your throat. “i… i get it, josh,” you said, the words tasting like regret. “thanks for… clearing that up.”
it was getting harder to blink away the tears blurring your vision, so you got up from the bed in a rush, brushing past him without meeting his eyes. you barely registered the stunned look on his face as you pushed through the doorway, bolting to your room.
when the door closes behind you with a solid, final slam, you let yourself break. you flopped onto the bed, burying your face into your pillow, and the tears came hard, shoulders shaking as you sobbed.
you wished the world would swallow you whole. the humiliation burned through every part of you, leaving you raw and aching. confessing your feelings to him, accidentally laying everything bare for him and your friends to see, was painful enough.
but seeing that look on his face. the careful way he let you down, as if he had tried to be gentle with something fragile, hurt worse.
you could feel all of their pity. it was all too much.
why did he slip through the door at that exact moment? how could it all have gone so terribly wrong?
you cried yourself to sleep. it wasn't easy since every time you closed your eyes, you saw his face, his words echoing loudly on loop.
Tumblr media
when morning light finally crept through your window, it felt too sharp, too harsh. you woke with swollen eyes and tear streaked cheeks.
you couldn’t face anyone, not josh, not even your friends. you had to leave and so you did.
you sent a quick, vague message to the group chat, letting them know you’d left early, then muted every contact on your phone. you weren’t ready to face them, to hear them try to make you feel better or worse, to remind you of what you couldn’t change.
you stared at your phone for a moment, that hurt and regret eating at you. you’d poured out your heart, indirectly telling your best friend that you were in love with him, and he didn’t feel the same. the realisation sat bitter and unyielding in your mind.
from the moment he walked in, you knew you’d lost him. the minute he looked at you with that sad, regretful expression, you knew it was over.
Tumblr media
days blurred into weeks, and weeks slipped into a month. you hadn’t spoken to josh, not a single text, and every call he made went straight to voicemail. facing him was something you couldn’t bear. how could you?
whatever he’d say now would only twist the knife deeper. he’d made it clear how he felt. it was over. any trace of friendship, trust, or whatever you’d thought was between you was gone, shattered by his carefully spoken words.
you found out later, through sam, that ashley had surprisingly defended you after you left. she’d laid into him, calling him out in front of everyone. apparently, she hadn’t held back, telling him exactly how thoughtless he’d been. it was a shock to hear that ashley, of all people, had stood up for you like that, but still, it brought you small comfort.
you  were lying on your couch, your attention drifting as the tv droned in the background, its images blurring while you scrolled absently through your phone.
a frantic pounding on your door broke the silence, jolting you upright. you froze, heart racing. you hadn’t ordered anything… and who would even show up at this hour?
the knocking continued, more urgent now. hesitantly, you stood and crept over to the door, peeking through the small glass.
there he was, josh, looking wild and desperate, eyes fixed on the door as he raised his hand to knock again.
you took a step back from the door, breath catching in your throat. his face was flushed, his hair tousled, and his expression, so desperate it was almost frightening. the pounding on the door slowed, but then he knocked again, softer this time, his voice muffled but pleading.
“please… i know you’re in there. i just… i need to talk to you.”
for a long, agonising moment, you hesitated, heart pounding in time with his knocks. part of you wanted to open the door, to hear him out. but the memory of his words still lingered, the wound still raw. what good could come from bringing it all up again?
but then he spoke again, voice breaking a little. “i messed up. please… just let me explain.”
you took a deep breath, your hand trembling as you unlocked the door and opened it, just enough to see his face clearly. josh’s eyes met yours. he looked exhausted, as if he hadn’t slept, the sadness in his eyes was so real, it almost made you forget your own pain.
he let out a shaky breath. “thank you,” he whispered, swallowing hard. “i know i don’t deserve you opening the door, but… i couldn’t stay away.”
you stayed silent, gripping the edge of the door. “josh, what are you doing here?”
“i… i couldn’t take it anymore. not hearing from you, not knowing if you’d ever look at me again.” he ran a hand through his hair, his voice thick with regret. “you were right to ignore me– i know that. and i know i hurt you. i was so… scared, i couldn’t let myself see what was right in front of me.”
“josh… you made it pretty clear how you felt.”
his face twisted, as if the memory hurt him as much as it hurt you. “i thought i knew, but i was wrong,” he said, stepping closer, his voice a whisper. “i didn’t realise how much i needed you until you were gone. i didn’t know how much i wanted… us. and losing you, just the thought of it– it’s been killing me.”
you looked away, fighting back the wave of emotions that threatened to surface. “why are you saying this now?” you asked, your voice broke “you let me walk away. you let me believe i’d just been… imagining everything.”
he let out a pained sigh. “because i was an idiot. i didn’t see what i had until it was slipping away, and i’ve spent every second since wishing i could go back and do it over.”
your grip on the door tightened as he took another step closer, close enough that you could feel the warmth of him, the desperation radiating off him. his voice softened, almost breaking. “i need you to know, even if you never speak to me again… that i love you. i’ve loved you for a long time, even if i was too afraid to admit it. and if there’s any chance, any at all—. that you could forgive me, i’ll do anything. just… please.”
your mind spinning as you searched his eyes. you could see it. the unguarded truth in his gaze.
and in that moment, you felt the walls you’d built around your heart start to crumble.
you felt your heart thud loudly in your chest, fighting to keep your walls intact, but the way he looked at you was unlike anything you’d ever seen.
you drew a shaky breath, trying to hold on to the anger, the hurt you’d held so close for the past month. “josh… do you know what it felt like? standing there in front of you, spilling my heart, and seeing that look on your face? like i was some burden you needed to brush off?”
he winced, the regret plain on his face. “i know… i know i don’t deserve your forgiveness. i can’t take back what i said. but please. if you knew how i felt right now, you’d know i’ve thought of nothing else since you walked away.” his voice broke, rough with the weight of every word.
“it’s like i can’t breathe when you’re not here.”
your hands trembled as you held the door, resisting the urge to reach for him. “then why? why did you look at me like that? you could’ve said anything else.”
he nodded, eyes downcast. “i know. i was terrified. you were the most important person in my life, and i couldn’t see beyond that… i thought if i admitted how i felt, i’d lose everything. and instead, i just pushed you away. i didn’t realise it was already everything until it was too late.”
the words hit you hard, his honesty unearthing feelings you’d buried for weeks. a part of you wanted to close the door, to protect yourself from the mess he’d made of your heart. but there was another part, louder, pulling you forward, remembering every time he’d made you feel safe, understood, seen.
“do you even understand what you’re asking?” your voice was barely a whisper. “you expect me to just forget it all?”
“no,” he said quickly, shaking his head. “i know you can’t forget. i don’t expect you to. but i’m here, and i’ll be here as long as it takes to show you that i mean it, that i’m not just scared anymore. i love you… and i’ll spend as long as it takes to prove it.”
his words hung in the silence, and he stood there, waiting, his eyes pleading. you could see how badly he meant it, how much he needed you to believe him. and slowly, the pain in your chest started to ease, just enough to let hope in.
you let out a sigh, the last of your resolve wavering. “i… don’t know if i can trust you yet, josh.”
“i know,” he whispered, his voice barely above a breath. “but i’ll be here. however long it takes.”
he reached out, fingers brushing your hand softly, and you felt that familiar warmth. despite everything, the walls you've built around your heart softened, for the first time in weeks, you let yourself hope.
“then prove it.”

You were curled up against the backseat of the Impala writing in your journal and humming along to Dean’s Foreigner cassette tape when Sam jerked awake in the front seat. You jerked up as well, concerned.
Dean shot his brother a worried look. “You okay?”
Sam blinked and rubbed his eyes. “Yeah, I'm fine.”
“Bull. Nightmare?” you asked.
The younger brother just cleared his throat in response.
“You wanna drive for a while?” Dean asked.
You and Sam gave him an incredulous look.
“Dean, your whole life you never once asked me that,” he laughed.
“Just thought you might want to. Never mind.” He rolled his eyes and returned them to the road.
“Look, man, you’re worried about me,” Sam sighed. “I get it, and thank you, but I'm perfectly okay.”
His brother just hummed in response.
“I’ll take you up on that driving offer, though,” you chimed in.
“Not a chance, sweetheart.”
“I told you to stop calling me that.”
“And I told you I wasn’t listening.”
“Dick.”
Dean just scoffed in response.
Sam’s unfolding of a map brought the conversation back on track. “All right, where are we?”
“Just outside of Grand Junction,” you answered. You leaned over his shoulder and pointed at the spot labeled “Grand Junction” and drew a trail with your finger over to a spot labeled with the coordinates Dean had found in John’s journal.
Sam hesitated before speaking again. “You know what? Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon.”
Dean shook his head. “Sam, we dug around there for a week. We came up with nothing. If you wanna find the thing that killed Jessica—”
“We gotta find Dad first,” Sam finished.
“Dad disappearing and this thing showing up again after twenty years, it's no coincidence.”
“Wait, showing up again?” you asked. Even after poking around at Stanford, this was the first you’d heard of a previous encounter with the creature.
“I thought Sam would’ve told you,” Dean said.
“Told me what?”
Sam turned to face you. “You remember what I said about my mom dying? She died the same way Jess did.”
You nodded in solemn understanding.
The car went quiet again; the silence only broken by the older brother. “Dad will have answers. He'll know what to do.”
Sam scanned the map again. “It's weird, man. These coordinates he left us. This Blackwater Ridge.”
“What about it?” you asked, putting your chin on Sam’s shoulder to look at the map.
“There's nothing there. It's just woods.” He put down the map, looking past your head at Dean. “Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?”
Dean just shrugged in response.
The three of you found yourselves in a ranger’s station in Lost Creek National Forest just outside of Blackwater Ridge. You and Sam scanned a three-dimensional map of the forest atop a large table in the center of the room.
“So Blackwater Ridge is pretty remote.” The brunet tapped his finger against the ridge’s label on the map. “It's cut off by these canyons here, rough terrain, dense forest, abandoned silver and gold mines all over the place.”
However, his brother’s attention could not be pulled away from a picture on the wall. “Dude, check out the size of this freaking bear.”
You walked over to him, and he was right. The thing was massive. The man standing behind its corpse looked like a dwarf in comparison.
“There’s about a dozen or so grizzlies in the area,” you added.
You and the boys were startled by a ranger’s voice coming from behind you. “You three aren't planning on going out near Blackwater Ridge by any chance?”
“Oh, no, sir, we're environmental study majors from UC Boulder, just working on a paper,” Sam assured him, laughing awkwardly.
Dean grinned and raised a fist. “Recycle, man.”
‘I could hit him. Jackass.’
The ranger obviously did not believe him. “Bull.”
Your eyes flicked to Dean, who was unmoving.
“You're friends with that Haley girl, right?” the ranger continued.
“Yes. Yes, we are, Ranger— Wilkinson.” Dean faltered only to read the ranger’s name tag.
“Well I will tell you exactly what we told her. Her brother filled out a backcountry permit saying he wouldn't be back from Blackwater until the twenty-fourth, so it's not exactly a missing persons now, is it?”
You shook your head.
“You tell that girl to quit worrying, I'm sure her brother's just fine.”
“We will.” Dean paused only for a moment. “Well, that Haley girl's quite a pistol, huh?”
“That is putting it mildly.”
You laughed. ‘I’m sure we’d get along great.’
“Actually,” Dean stopped the ranger from leaving the room. “You know what would help is if I could show her a copy of that backcountry permit. You know, so she could see her brother's return date.”
The ranger eyed Dean curiously, but still got him a copy of the permit.
Dean laughed smugly as the three of you left the station, waving the paper around.
“What are you, five?” you asked him.
“Listen, sweetheart, I consider this a major success.” You quirked a brow at him, mildly annoyed he called you that stupid name again. “This eliminates a lot of the groundwork we normally have to do.”
“Fair point,” you shrugged.
Sam broke the somewhat comfortable silence. “Are you cruising for a hookup or something?”
Considering the thought you’d just had, you were taken slightly aback. “What do you mean?”
“The coordinates point to Blackwater Ridge, so what are we waiting for? Let's just go find Dad. I mean, why even talk to this girl?” Sam was more talking pointedly at Dean and not you. You came to a stop on your respective sides of the Impala.
You couldn’t quite see Dean over the top of the car. “I don't know, maybe we should know what we're walking into before we actually walk into it?”
You could practically feel the look Dean was giving Sam.
“What?” the brunet scoffed.
“Since when are you all shoot-first-ask-questions-later, anyway?”
“Since now.”
You furrowed your eyebrows, biting the inside of your lip. “Really?’ you muttered, getting down into the car.
***
Sam walked a little further up the walkway to the Collins house than you and Dean did.
“Forty-five minutes in that copy room for this?” you inspected Dean’s small, fake park ranger ID.
“Can’t rush art, sweetheart.”
“Now you’re just working it into every sentence because you know it aggravates me.”
"Yup,” Dean chuckled.
You smirked lopsidedly and Dean knocked on Haley Collins’s front door. A quite beautiful, dark-haired girl opened it moments later.
“You must be Haley Collins. I'm Dean, this is Sam, and (Y/N), we're, ah, we're rangers with the Park Service. Ranger Wilkinson sent us over. He wanted us to ask a few questions about your brother Tommy.”
Haley hesitated. “Lemme see some ID.”
Dean held up the ID you’d previously been inspecting to the screen door. The girl looked between the ID and Dean.
“Come on in.”
“Thanks.”
The door swung open, allowing Haley to catch a glimpse of the Impala. “That yours?”
“Yeah.”
“Nice car.” She began leading the three of you into the home.
Dean looked back at Sam, mouthing something excitedly to him that you couldn’t quite make out. You rolled your eyes. You decided then and there you would push your attraction to him to the side for the rest of the time you were working with the brothers. To you, he was just an asshole playboy.
Sam’s voice broke you out of your thoughts. “So if Tommy's not due back for a while, how do you know something's wrong?”
You took in the sight of the table set for dinner and a young boy who looked to be about thirteen already picking at his plate of food.
Haley entered the room with a bowl and placed it onto the table. “He checks in every day by cell. He emails, photos, stupid little videos—we haven't heard anything in over three days now.”
“Well, maybe he can't get cell reception,” you suggested.
“He's got a satellite phone, too.”
‘Well, there goes that theory.’
“Could it be he's just having fun and forgot to check in?” Dean threw in.
The teenage boy clanked his fork against his plate, sharply stating, “He wouldn't do that.”
You eyed the boy, getting a read on him.
“Our parents are gone,” Haley said. “It's just my two brothers and me. We all keep pretty close tabs on each other.”
You nodded in understanding. As much as you were trying to dislike her, it wasn’t working all that well.
“Can I see the pictures he sent you?” Sam asked.
Haley pulled out her laptop to show Sam the folder of pictures and videos her brother had sent her. “That's Tommy.” You could hear the sadness in her voice.
She clicked through to the most recent video.
A scruffy, presumably twenty-five year old man appeared onscreen. “Hey Haley, day six, we're still out near Blackwater Ridge. We're fine, keeping safe, so don't worry, okay? Talk to you tomorrow.”
Something flickered past outside the young man’s tent. Your brows furrowed.
“Well, we'll find your brother. We're heading out to Blackwater Ridge first thing,” Dean assured her.
“Then maybe I'll see you there,” she answered. “Look, I can't sit around here anymore. So I hired a guy. I'm heading out in the morning, and I'm gonna find Tommy myself.”
“I think I know how you feel.”
Your eyes flicked over to Dean, growing angry at what you assumed to be an attempt at seducing the girl.
‘She’s mourning the potential loss of her brother, and you’re gonna try and charm her? Asshole.’
The younger Winchester once again broke you out of your thoughts. “Hey, do you mind forwarding these to me?”
“Sure.” Haley clicked away on her laptop again.
***
You and the boys wound up at a bar. The table was covered in newspapers, John’s journal, and beer bottles; some full and some half empty.
“So, Blackwater Ridge doesn't get a lot of traffic. Local campers, mostly. But still, this past April, two hikers went missing out there. They were never found.”
You gestured to John’s journal, which Sam slid over to you. You began flipping through it.
“Any before that?” Dean asked.
Sam pulled out a newspaper to show his brother. “Yeah, in 1982, eight different people all vanished in the same year. Authorities said it was a grizzly attack.”
You leaned across the table, squinting at the headline. You felt Dean’s eyes flick to your breasts that had subsequently been pushed up in your wife beater as you leaned over.
You glared at him. “Stay focused, Winchester.”
Dean rolled his eyes, apparently unable to find his way to a witty response. You turned your attention back to the headline that read, “ GRIZZLY BEAR ATTACKS! UP TO EIGHT HIKERS VANISH IN LOST CREEK AREA.”
Sam pulled out his laptop. “Before that, 1959 and 1936. Every twenty-three years, just like clockwork.”
“You have WiFi in here?” you questioned.
“Don’t need it. Just wanted to look at Haley’s video.” He pulled it up from a folder on his screen.
“Oh, shit. I almost forgot. Can I see that?” You hopped off your stool to get between the two brothers. “Watch this.” You clicked through the three frames of the video containing the shadow you’d seen flash across the screen. “That's three frames. That's a fraction of a second. Whatever that thing is, it can move.”
Dean reached across you to hit Sam’s shoulder. “Told you something weird was going on.”
Sam rolled his eyes, closing his laptop. “Yeah. I got one more thing.” He put a newspaper article between you and Dean. “In 'fifty-nine one camper survived this supposed grizzly attack. Just a kid. Barely crawled out of the woods alive.”
You skimmed the article briefly. “Is there a name?”
The only survivor of the attack in the article Sam showed you and Dean was a child at the time. He now lived a life of what appeared to be solitude. He drove a beat up truck that was parked haphazardly in his driveway and lived several miles out of the city. You took in the poor old man’s messy house as he led your trio into his living room.
“Look, ranger, I don't know why you're asking me about this. It's public record. I was a kid. My parents got mauled by a—”
Sam interrupted him. “Grizzly? That's what attacked them?”
Mr. Shaw lit a cigarette, took a deep puff, and nodded.
“The other people that went missing that year, those bear attacks too?” Dean’s tone was slightly pointed. “What about all the people that went missing this year? Same thing?”
The old man continued to take drags of his cigarette. He seemed almost scared to entertain any other explanation aside from a grizzly bear attack.
Dean continued to pressure him. “If we knew what we were dealing with, we might be able to stop it.”
Mr. Shaw shook his head. “I seriously doubt that. Anyways, I don't see what difference it would make.” He sat down in his recliner. “You wouldn't believe me. Nobody ever did.”
Sam sat down opposite the old man. “Mr. Shaw, what did you see?”
“Nothing. It moved too fast to see. It hid too well. I heard it, though. A roar. Like... no man or animal I ever heard.”
“It came at night?”
He nodded.
“Got inside your tent?”
“It got inside our cabin. I was sleeping in front of the fireplace when it came in. It didn't smash a window or break the door. It unlocked it.”
You tried to keep your face from conveying your intrigue and tinge of fear.
“Do you know of a bear that could do something like that? I didn't even wake up till I heard my parents screaming.” You could see Mr. Shaw becoming lost in his mind.
“It killed them?” Sam continued.
“Dragged them off into the night.” The old man shook his head as if to shake away the memories. “Why it left me alive... been asking myself that ever since.” He took a brief pause before reaching to the collar of his wife beater. “Did leave me this, though.” He pulled it down to reveal three long, deep claw mark scars. Through morbid curiosity, you were tempted to run your fingers over the jagged edges of the scarring. You couldn’t imagine how painful and angry the marks must have been when the poor man first got them.
“There's something evil in those woods. It was some sort of a demon.”
“Thank you for your time, Mr. Shaw. We’re sorry about your parents,” you told him, turning away. “Have a good night, sir.”
Mr. Shaw seemed too caught up in his own head to respond with more than a wave, letting a cloud of smoke slither out of his mouth.
*** Later that night, you and the boys had just booked a room in yet another crappy motel.
‘One of these days I’ll treat myself to a stay in a halfway decent hotel.’
Before the three of you would be turning in for the night, you were headed to Dean’s car to pack your bags for the early morning you were about to have.
“Spirits and demons don't have to unlock doors.” Dean broke your train of thought. “If they want inside, they just go through the walls.”
“So it's probably something else, something corporeal,” Sam said.
“Corporeal? Look at you, smartass,” you laughed.
“Shut up. So what do you think?”
“The claws, the speed that it moves…” Dean trailed off. “Could be a skinwalker, maybe a black dog. Whatever we're talking about, we're talking about a creature, and it's corporeal. Which means we can kill it.”
“True,” you started. “But how are you gonna know what to bring to kill it with if we have no idea what it is?”
“Just trust me on this one,” Dean replied. “There’s not much a gun won’t be able to take care of.” He let the door to the motel almost completely swing shut behind him; nearly hitting you in the face.
You caught it just in time. “Right, right. Just like you ‘took care’ of Constance by shooting her.”
“Hey, it worked, didn’t it?” Dean raised a brow at you, just barely turning over his shoulder to give you his response. He started busying himself in the weapons box in the back of his car.
“I mean, just barely. Nearly caught me in the crossfire.”
Dean rolled his eyes, sighing dramatically. “And what a shame that would’ve been.”
“Hey!” You shoved his shoulder with yours.
He glared at you in response.
Sam, who had been quiet the last few minutes, spoke up. “We cannot let that Haley girl go out there.”
His brother was rummaging through the weapons box; haphazardly throwing guns into his duffel bag. “Oh yeah? What are we gonna tell her? That she can't go into the woods because of a big scary monster?”
You found a shotgun that was slightly smaller than the rest, giving it a once over before moving to put it in a duffel bag of your own. Before you could fully get it settled in the bag, Dean took it from you.
You went to protest, but Sam cut you off by saying, “Yeah,” as if it was obvious.
Dean turned his attention away from you and your shotgun long enough for you to steal it back.
“Her brother's missing, Sam,” he tried to reason. “She's not gonna just sit this out. Now we go with her, we protect her, and we keep our eyes peeled for our fuzzy predator friend.”
Dean seemed to notice you had taken the gun back and glared at you. He picked up his own duffel, and you closed the weapons cavity.
“Finding Dad’s not enough?” Sam countered while you closed the trunk. “Now we gotta babysit too?”
You and Dean gave Sam a look.
“What?” he snapped.
You shook your head.
“Nothing,” Dean replied. He threw the duffel bag at him and walked off.
***
You yawned and pulled yourself into a tighter ball on the backseat of Dean’s Impala. You hadn’t gotten much sleep last night for a reason you couldn’t quite place.
“Don’t get too comfortable, sweetheart, we’re here,” Dean told you.
“Fuck.” You grabbed yours and Dean’s duffel bags off the seat next to you and got out of the car to feel loose gravel grating against your boots.
A man who looked to be in his late fifties was up ahead of you next to a Jeep with Haley and the teenager you recognized as Haley’s younger brother. You approached the other three from behind Sam and Dean.
“You guys got room for three more?” the older brother asked.
Haley crossed her arms. “Wait, you want to come with us?”
“Who are these guys?” The older man pointed at your group.
“Apparently this is all the park service could muster up for the search and rescue.”
Sam headed past everyone, and you followed.
You assumed the middle-aged man was the guide Haley had talked about hiring the previous day. He was very skeptical of the three of you. “You're rangers?”
Dean’s confidence never wavered. “That's right.”
“And you're hiking out in biker boots and jeans?” Haley was apparently skeptical, too.
“Well, sweetheart, I don't do shorts.”
‘That’s what he calls me.’ You couldn’t quite understand the pang that went through your chest when he used that nickname for her. You pushed the thought aside once again, reminding yourself that you weren’t special in Dean’s eyes. To you, he was becoming more of a playboy asshole with each passing moment. You hoped your attraction to his beautiful green eyes and sharp jawline would soon turn to disdain.
Speaking of which, he appeared next to you as the guide spoke once more. “What, you think this is funny? It's dangerous back country out there. Her brother might be hurt.”
You turned around, trying to explain Dean’s attitude away. “He knows that. He just has a funny way of showing it.” You hoped Dean didn’t miss the bite in your tone. And from the way you could feel his glare burning a hole through your skull, you were sure it wasn’t lost on him.
The guide shook his head, brushing past you and the brothers. He headed into the forest, and you followed a few paces behind. You would never admit it, but the woods had always unsettled you just a bit. You tightened your grip on your bag and pushed forward.
Dean had apparently learned the guide’s name from Haley while you were lost in your own anxiety. “Roy, you said you did a little hunting.” He quickened his step to pass you and get up next to Roy.
“Yeah, more than a little.” The response came gruff and disinterested.
“Uh-huh. What kind of furry critters do you hunt?”
You could feel where this was going. ‘Don’t fucking provoke him, Winchester.’
“Mostly buck, sometimes bear.” The disinterest was ever present in Roy’s tone as he continued to scan the treeline in front of him.
Dean passed him up, doing that obnoxiously confident backwards walk again. “Tell me, uh, Bambi or Yogi ever hunt you back?”
Suddenly, Roy grabbed Dean’s jacket roughly. You nearly flinched.
“Whatcha doing, Roy?” Dean’s tone had hardened.
Roy grabbed a stick, and peering around Dean you could see the jaws of a bear trap close around it inches from Dean’s boot.
“You should watch where you're stepping. Ranger.”
‘Damn.’
Roy dropped the stick and took the lead once more.
Dean turned around to the rest of the group. “It's a bear trap.”
You scoffed.
You could hear Haley’s quickened step crunching leaves as she passed you to catch up to Dean. “You didn't pack any provisions. You guys are carrying a duffel bag. You're not rangers.” She grabbed his arm, spinning him to face her. “So who the hell are you?”
The teenage boy passed his sister and Dean. You and Sam hesitated behind Haley, shooting Dean a quizzical look. Dean jerked his head for the two of you to go on. You followed Sam forward, but hung back close enough that you could hear Dean and Haley’s conversation.
“Sam and I are brothers, and we're looking for our father. (Y/N) is—” you were interested in this explanation, “—a friend of ours.”
‘Oh, so we’re friends now.’
“He might be here, we don't know. I just figured that you and me, we're in the same boat.”
“Why didn't you just tell me that from the start?”
“I'm telling you now. 'sides, it's probably the most honest I've ever been with a woman. ...ever. So, we okay?”
‘Wonder how many times he’s used that line.’ You caught that same squeeze happening in your chest happening again. You desperately wished to get ahold of yourself and snap out of it. ‘He’s just pretty to look at. He’s a complete douche. Get it together, girl.’
You had missed Haley’s response to Dean’s “heartfelt” admission, but heard “And what do you mean I didn't pack provisions?” You heard the rustling of a plastic bag behind you, and remembered the bag of peanut M&Ms he had bought at a gas station before coming here. You heard Dean start walking again, and you hurried ahead to catch up with Sam and not look like you were snooping.
Dean had apparently noticed you were hanging back and chuckled to himself. Your cheeks burned with embarrassment.
He walked up beside you. “Jealous?”
“What?” you turned to him, feigning disgust. “Fuck no.”
“So… you were just snooping because…?”
You wanted to smack the smug grin off his face. His amusement at your aggravation riled you up even more. “I was just curious what she thought of us. And to be frank, I don’t exactly trust your ability to explain things away. That’s all.”
“Uh-huh.” You knew he didn’t believe you. “That’s all.”
You petulantly stole the bag of peanut M&Ms from him.
“Hey! (Y/N)!”
You marched on.
“This is it. Blackwater Ridge,” Roy announced after what felt like hours of walking. Your anxiety around getting lost in the forest was only deepening. That was what it all boiled down to. You had a fear of not being in control, and the idea of a place where every “landmark” looked the same, wildlife ruled the terrain, and being alone in it was pretty much a death sentence, scared you pretty severely. Not to mention, the time you almost bled to death in the middle of the woods had another hunter not found you.
You had no means of identifying where you’d come back from. All the trees seemed the same to you. You had no idea how you were going to get back to the car at the end of the day; if you were even going to make it out of here by the end of the day. You had been walking for so long that you were sure you’d be sleeping out here tonight. The thought of that frightened you even more.
What truly unsettled you was that the sounds you had been hearing up until you made it to Blackwater Ridge— crickets, leaves rustling, birds chirping— all of it had been silenced.
“I'm gonna go take a look around,” Roy announced.
The younger Winchester stopped him. “You shouldn't go off by yourself.”
Roy’s snark almost rivaled Dean’s. “That's sweet. Don't worry about me.” He waved his gun around and pushed between the two brothers to head deeper into the forest.
Dean turned to the rest of your group. “Alright, everybody stays together. Let's go.”
‘Great. More fucking woods.’ You marched forward, trying to put on a brave face.
Sam’s eyes softened when he caught sight of you. “You okay?”
Apparently, your “brave face” wasn’t as brave as you thought. “Yeah, why?”
“You look… kinda nervous.”
“Yeah, I am. I’m, uh, kinda scared of the forest, honestly.”
“Aw, sweetheart,” Dean’s mocking tone interrupted your vulnerable moment. “You’re scared of a little woods?” He jutted out his bottom lip, feigning a pout.
“Fuck off, Winchester. I’m fine.”
“Whoa, touchy. Relax.” Dean held his hands up in surrender. “Was just poking fun, that’s all.”
“Okay, well, it wasn’t funny. So, fuck off.” You rushed ahead, still white-knuckling the duffel bag on your shoulder.
Before Dean could catch up to you or respond, Roy called out from quite a bit ahead. “Haley! Over here!”
Haley took off in the direction of Roy’s voice, closely followed by you. Haley froze at the sight in front of her. “Oh, my God.”
In the clearing Roy had found, bloodied, torn open tents surrounded mutilated camping supplies and backpacks. Deep gashes in the tent material and the surrounding trees were jagged and stained with blood around the edges. The sight wasn’t making your queasiness any better.
“Looks like a grizzly.”
‘No, it doesn’t, Roy,’ you thought.
Haley’s backpack hit the ground next to you, and she tore through the campsite; screaming her brother’s name.
Sam moved to quiet her down. She kept screaming. A much harsher “Shh!” passed Sam’s lips, finally getting the girl to settle down.
“Why?” she questioned defensively.
“Something might still be out there,” he answered.
Dean called his brother’s name from the other end of the campsite. You followed Sam over to the sound of Dean’s voice.
You crouched down next to Sam. Dean snapped a stick and pointed to a set of drag marks on the ground. “The bodies were dragged from the campsite. But here, the tracks just vanish. That's weird. I'll tell you what, that's no skinwalker or black dog.”
The three of you stood and returned to the campsite to find Haley crying on the ground over her brother’s broken and bloodied phone.
“Hey, he could still be alive,” Dean told her. She shot him a confused and slightly angry look.
Out of nowhere, a scratchy male voice started gutturally calling, “Help! Help!”
Roy was quick to run to the shouter’s aid. However, you weren’t so sure it was a real person screaming like that.
“Help! Somebody!” came again.
The brothers started off to follow Roy.
“Wait, guys!” you called, not wanting to be left alone despite your hesitation.
“C’mon, (Y/N)!” Sam called.
You dropped your duffel in your rush to follow Sam’s voice. When you found where the group had gathered, you could see the brothers searching the treeline. You licked your teeth, upset that your intuition was right. Your group had found no one.
“It seemed like it was coming from around here, didn't it?” Haley said, confused.
“Everybody get back to camp,” you ordered.
You followed the path you were pretty sure would get you back to the mangled campsite. Thankfully, your sense of direction was right, but all of your supplies had been taken by the time you returned.
“Our packs!” Haley exclaimed.
Roy grumbled, “So much for my GPS and my satellite phone.”
“What the hell is going on?” Haley was catching on.
“It’s smart. It’s trying to isolate us so we can’t call for help. It knows we won’t last long without supplies,” you stated.
“You mean someone, some nutjob out there just stole all our gear.” The guide’s voice was hard and angry.
“I need to speak with you two. In private.” You pulled the brothers aside by their jackets. Dean shrugged your hand off him.
“Can I see your dad’s journal?” you asked. Yours had been taken along with your duffel bag.
“No, why?” Dean asked petulantly.
“Please, dude, c’mon.” You were not in the mood.
“Give it to her, Dean,” Sam chimed in.
Dean rolled his eyes and handed it over.
You flipped through until you found a page marked by a First Nations-style drawing of a tall figure with long claws labeled “Wendigo.” You looked up at the boys expectantly.
“Oh, come on, wendigos are in the Minnesota woods or, or northern Michigan. I've never even heard of one this far west,” Dean responded.
“Think about it, Dean, the claws, the way it can mimic a human voice,” you tried to reason.
“Great.” He took his pistol out of his belt. “Well, then this is useless.”
“I told you guns don’t work on everything,” you quipped.
“Shut up.”
Sam took the journal from you and handed it back to his brother. “We gotta get these people to safety.” He led you and Dean back to the group. “All right, listen up, it's time to go. Things have gotten...more complicated.”
Haley seemed pissed. “What?”
“Kid, don't worry.” Roy’s tone was almost patronizing. “Whatever's out there, I think I can handle it.”
“It's not me I'm worried about. If you shoot this thing, you're just gonna make it mad. We have to leave. Now,” Sam countered.
“One, you're talking nonsense. Two, you're in no position to give anybody orders.” Roy was now getting in Sam’s face.
“C’mon, Roy, chill out,” you told him, pressing a hand to Sam’s chest to keep him from stepping to Roy.
Sam let you keep your hand there, but still bit back at Roy. “We never should have let you come out here in the first place, all right? I'm trying to protect you.”
“You protect me? I was hunting these woods when your mommy was still kissing you good night.” The guide was so close you could smell the chewing tobacco on his breath.
Sam still refused to back down. “Yeah? It's a damn near perfect hunter. It's smarter than you, and it's gonna hunt you down and eat you alive unless we get your stupid sorry ass out of here.”
Roy laughed mockingly. “You know you're crazy, right?”
“Yeah? You ever hunt a wen—”
Dean pushed you out the way and shoved his brother back. “Relax!”
Haley got between you, the boys, and Roy. “Stop. Stop it. Everybody just stop. Look. Tommy might still be alive. And I'm not leaving here without him.”
You considered for a moment the implications of what may happen if you allowed them to stay.
Dean broke the silence. “It's getting late. This thing is a good hunter in the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night. We'll never beat it, not in the dark. We need to settle in and protect ourselves.”
“How?” Haley asked.
“I’m not gonna sugarcoat this,” you began. “We don’t really have the time for the ‘monsters under the bed are real’ talk. This thing is a Wendigo. I’m gonna start carving some symbols into the ground. No one crosses the circle once I’ve drawn it. Got it?”
Haley nodded at you. “What can I do?”
“Build a fire with— sorry, I never caught his name,” you gestured to the teenager next to her.
“Ben,” Haley told you.
“Ben. You two start gathering enough wood and tinder to keep a fire going. Don’t go too far, though, please.”
She and Ben nodded at you before setting off.
“Thank you,” you called after the Collins siblings. “Sam, Dean, help me with the Anasazi symbols.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Dean said. You were surprised at his compliance.
After a while of scuttling across the forest floor drawing a circle of Anasazi symbols around the campsite, the sun had set. Haley and Ben had long since returned and were tending the fire. As you finished the last symbol, you brushed the dirt off your hands on your jeans.
Haley looked up at you from her place by the fire. “One more time, that's—”
“Anasazi symbols. It's for protection,” Dean explained. “The wendigo can't cross over them.”
Roy laughed, feeling the need to assert the fact he thought this was bullshit.
“Nobody likes a skeptic, Roy,” Dean told him, clearly fatigued of the man’s attitude.
Roy turned his attention back to the treeline with his gun over his shoulder. You followed Dean over to where Sam sat away from the group at the edge of the campsite.
“You wanna tell me what's going on in that freaky head of yours?” Dean asked his brother.
“Dean—” the younger one began to protest. You sat down next to him.
“No, you're not fine.” Of course, he already knew what Sam was going to say.  “You're like a powder keg, man, it's not like you. I'm supposed to be the belligerent one, remember?”
You laughed. “Yeah, I’ve got enough of that attitude with just him, Sam.”
Dean nudged the tip of your boot with his harshly. You returned his glare petulantly.
“Dad's not here. I mean, that much we know for sure, right? He would have left us a message, a sign, right?” Sam’s mind was clearly going a mile a minute.
“Yeah, you're probably right. Tell you the truth, I don't think Dad's ever been to Lost Creek.”
You decided to just sit back and listen for a moment before throwing your two cents in.
“Then let's get these people back to town and let's hit the road. Go find Dad. I mean, why are we still even here?” Sam threw his hands up in frustration.
“This is why.” Dean held out his dad’s journal to his brother. “This book. This is Dad's single most valuable possession—everything he knows about every evil thing is in here. And he's passed it on to us. I think he wants us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business.”
Sam shook his head. “That makes no sense. Why doesn't he just—call us? Why doesn't he—tell us what he wants, tell us where he is?”
“I dunno. But the way I see it, Dad's giving us a job to do, and I intend to do it.”
Sam’s eyes began to well with tears. “Dean, no. I gotta find Dad. I gotta find Jessica's killer. It's the only thing I can think about.”
“Okay, all right, Sam, we'll find them, I promise. Listen to me.” Sam looked up at Dean. “You've gotta prepare yourself. I mean, this search could take a while, and all that anger, you can't keep it burning over the long haul. It's gonna kill you. You gotta have patience, man.”
Sam looked away again, still fighting the tears congealing in his water line. “How do you two do it? How does Dad do it?”
You let Dean take that question. “Well for one, them.” He gestured to Haley and Ben. “I mean, I figure our family's so screwed to hell, maybe we can help some others. Makes things a little bit more bearable.”
You paused, looking down at the dirt and twigs below you before speaking. “It’s kind of the same for me. I don’t have a family anymore.” You felt Dean’s gaze on you, but kept the burning in your cheeks at bay. “This is really all I’ve ever known. I know I couldn’t go back to a normal life after all this. So, I do what I can to help everyone else’s lives feel a little more normal. Not everybody needs to know what’s really out there. It kinda brings me peace knowing I’m helping somebody else live their life relatively worry-free.”
Dean continued. “I'll tell you what else helps.”
You looked back up at him.
“Killing as many evil sons of bitches as I possibly can.”
You smiled at Dean genuinely for the first time.
A twig snapped, breaking you and the boys out of the little bonding moment you’d just had. The same, slightly unhuman grainy voice screamed out again from somewhere in the trees. “Help me! Please!”
Dean stands with his gun. You thought about pointing out the fact that it was useless, but decided to keep it to yourself.
“Help!” the strained sound came again.
Sam shined his flashlight through the tree line.
“He's trying to draw us out. Just stay cool, stay put,” Dean told the group.
“Inside the magic circle?” Roy quipped.
“Shut up, would you?” You snapped, narrowing your eyes at him.
“Help! Help me!” The voice seemed to become more distant before a low growl emanated from just outside the circle.
Roy pointed his gun at the sound. “Okay, that's no grizzly.”
“Oh, now you believe us,” you quipped.
“(Y/N),” Dean warned, still facing the outside of the circle.
Something rushed past where Haley and Ben were standing. She let out a scream.
“It's here,” the younger Winchester stated.
The guide shot at the rustling bushes, and then again. “I hit it!” He took off before you could protest.
“Roy, no!” you immediately ran after him.
You could hear Dean behind you addressing the Collinses, but barely registered it while trying to follow Roy.
“Roy! Come back!” you called.
“It's over here! It's in the tree!” the man called back.
Just as you reached him, something grabbed onto Roy’s shoulders and began pulling him up into the tree above.
“Roy!” you grabbed his ankles, doing your best to pull him back down to the ground.
Roy was screaming above you, and the Wendigo’s strength was too much for you. Roy’s screaming was cut off sharply by a snapping sound. In that moment, you knew he was gone. You let Roy’s legs go and dropped back down to the ground.
The Winchester brothers appeared at that second, rushing to your side.
“You okay?” Sam asked, helping you up. “Where’s Roy?”
You shook your head. “He’s gone.”
You and the boys headed back to camp to find Haley and Ben huddled together. Haley was caught off-guard by your return, and nearly took you out with her makeshift torch-weapon. “Shit!” she yelped. “You scared the crap out of me!”
“Sorry,” you laughed. “Easy, tiger.”
She threw her torch back into the fire. “Where’s Roy?”
Your smile faded. “I tried to help him. I’m sorry.”
She nodded somberly. A saddened, heavy air fell over your camp as the remaining five of you tried to go to sleep before your undoubtedly busy day tomorrow.
Haley and Ben settled down near the fire with tatters of backpacks and tent material as pillows and blankets respectively. You and Dean forced Sam to lay down and rest because it was evident via the bags under his eyes that he’d had none over the last several days.
“I’ll take first watch,” you told Dean, settling your back against the stump of a tree near where Sam had started falling asleep.
“Not a chance, sweetheart.”
“First of all, stop calling me that,” you snapped. “Second, it wasn’t a suggestion. I’m taking first watch. Go to sleep.”
“Why are you so insistent on this?” Dean furrowed his eyebrows at you.
“Why don’t you trust me?” you countered.
“I don’t know, maybe because you’re the last person to have seen my dad before he ‘mysteriously disappeared’?”
“You’re not seriously suggesting—” you scoffed, and Dean cut you off again.
“Maybe because I don’t even know you. Maybe because you so readily agreed to just hitch a ride with Sam and I the day Jessica died. Maybe those are some good reasons not to trust you.”
“Dean, I had nothing to do with your dad’s disappearance. And in case you haven’t noticed, I’m on my own. Sorry that I was just excited to finally have someone willing to take me along with them. And I don’t give a shit about you, honestly. I do give a shit about Sam, though, and I’m not gonna leave while he’s in this headspace. And I wanna help you find your dad.”
“Why do you care so much?” he hissed in retaliation.
“Because I don’t have any family. I want to help reunite yours. Like you said earlier, it helps you feel a little better and sleep a little easier at night.” Your voice had softened considerably, and you turned your attention from Dean to your hands folded in your lap.
“Fine, but after we find my dad, you’re gone,” he responded after a moment.
“Fine.” You turned away from him, hugging your knees to your chest. “I’m still taking first watch.”
“Whatever, (Y/N).” You could hear Dean moving around behind you.
“Goodnight,” you said.
All you got was a huff in response.
At some point that night, Sam was actually the one to take over your watch. He’d woken up from a nightmare, and you knew he wouldn’t be getting back to sleep any time soon. You did your best to get some sleep despite your heightened sense of awareness from your unsettling surroundings and the anger you still felt at Dean after your argument.
When you did awaken, Sam was sitting against the tree next to you, Dean was talking to Haley about the origin of Wendigos, and Haley was grilling Dean about how he knows about monsters.
“Kind of runs in the family,” was all Dean answered her question with.
You felt Sam push off the tree behind you. You still hadn’t rolled over from your sleeping position.
“So we've got half a chance in the daylight,” Sam announced to the group. “And I for one want to kill this evil son of a bitch.”
“Well, hell, you know I'm in,” you heard Dean respond.
“'Wendigo' is a Cree Indian word. It means 'evil that devours',” Sam explained.
You began stretching while Dean continued educating Haley and Ben. “They're hundreds of years old. Each one was once a man. Sometimes an Indian, or other times a frontiersman or a miner or hunter.”
“How's a man turn into one of those things?” Haley asked.
“Well, it's always the same,” the older Winchester continued while you started to make your way over to them, brushing leaves out of your hair with your fingers. “During some harsh winter a guy finds himself starving, cut off from supplies or help. Becomes a cannibal to survive, eating other members of his tribe or camp.”
“Like the Donner Party.” That was the first you’d ever heard Ben speak.
“Cultures all over the world believe that eating human flesh gives a person certain abilities. Speed, strength, immortality,” Sam continued.
“If you eat enough of it, over years, you become this less than human thing. You're always hungry,” Dean finished.
“So if that's true, how can Tommy still be alive?” Haley waited for the answer with baited breath.
“You're not gonna like it.”
“Tell me.” Haley steeled herself.
“More than anything, a wendigo knows how to last long winters without food. It hibernates for years at a time, but when it's awake it keeps its victims alive. It—” Dean seemed to be searching for the right words, “—uh, it stores them, so it can feed whenever it wants. If your brother's alive, it's keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe. We gotta track it back there.”
“And then how do we stop it?”
You spoke up for the first time, holding an empty beer bottle, a white cloth, and a can of lighter fluid you’d found from near the camp. “Guns are useless, so, Molotov cocktail, baby.”
You could swear Dean cracked a smile at you, but you refused to acknowledge it.
The sun had risen much higher since your crew had first started walking. You had passed multiple trees with bloodied claw marks on them. It was starting to unsettle you, quite honestly. You’d just passed the seventh or eighth claw-marked tree  when you decided to bring Sam’s attention to your thought process.
“You know, I was thinking, those claw marks are so clear and distinct. Not at all as jagged as they were on Mr. Shaw’s scar or the tree where the thing snatched Roy. They were almost too easy to follow.”
Almost as if on cue, a low growl rumbled from above and trees rustled. Haley looked up before jerking herself out of the way. And good thing she had, because Roy’s corpse soon landed where she’d stood.
Dean inspected Roy’s corpse while Sam helped Haley up. “His neck's broke.”
The growling continued.
Upon hearing the sound, Dean started to bark out, “Okay, run, run, run, run, go, go, go!”
You immediately split. You were always quite a fast runner and light on your feet. You and Haley took the lead of the group and could hear the boys’ thundering footsteps behind you.
Before you knew it, the growling had landed right in front of you. You and Haley were brought to a skidding halt before the creature. Haley yelped as the creature grabbed your legs and began dragging the two of you. You took the bag of peanut M&Ms you’d stolen from Dean out of your jacket’s inner pocket. You let the bag’s contents out slowly as sticks and rocks scraped up your dragging body. The last thing you felt was a sharp pain on the back of your head before you vision blacked out completely.
The next time you came to, the first thing you felt were your aching wrists and hands on either side of your face. You could faintly hear Dean calling your name, and your vision began to get less hazy as Dean’s voice became more clear.
When Dean’s annoyingly beautiful, worried face finally came into focus, you said the first thing that came to mind. “Aren’t you a little short for a stormtrooper.”
You could hear Sam laughing behind Dean and Dean sighed. If you didn’t know any better, you would say he sounded relieved.
Sam reached above you to cut your wrists down. “You okay?”
Despite your aching joints, you said, “Yeah.”
Sam helped you over to one of the cave’s walls. “You sure you're alright?”
“Yeah. Yep,” you groaned. “Where is he?”
“He's gone for now.”
“Oh, thank god,” you breathed, making Sam laugh a little. “Oh, sweet.” You noticed the stolen duffel bags next to you and started rummaging through yours. Haley let out a shriek, causing you to jerk your head in her direction. She’d found her brother, and thankfully, he was alive.
“Cut him down!” Haley ordered. Sam got to work.
You found a flare gun in Dean’s duffel bag, saying, “Check it out.” to the rest of your group.
“Flare guns. Those'll work,” Sam responded, grinning.
You laughed, throwing one of the guns at Dean who caught it easily. He twirled it around his finger, smirking at you.
“Enough fooling around, let’s go,” Haley urged. She shouldered her brother, and with Ben’s help, started moving down the mine shaft.
You and Sam held up the rear of the group while Dean took the lead. Amidst the clunky shuffling of Tommy’s weakened body down the shaft, you could hear the same deep, low growling you’d heard in the forest.
“Looks like someone's home for supper,” quipped Dean, scanning the corridor ahead of him.
“We'll never outrun it,” Haley said.
Dean looked back at you and Sam. “You thinking what I'm thinking?”
“Yeah, I think so,” Sam responded.
“I don’t,” you chimed in.
“You’ll catch on,” Dean shot back. “All right, listen to me. Stay with Sam and (Y/N). They’re gonna get you out of here.”
“What are you gonna do?” Haley asked the older Winchester.
He winked at her, shooting her that same smile he’d shot you one of the first times you’d met him. You fought the urge to roll your eyes. He started yelling moments later, walking away from you. “Chow time, you freaky bastard! Yeah, that's right, bring it on, baby, I taste good.”
‘I bet he does.’ You surprised yourself. ‘What? What the fuck? He’s an asshole.’
Sam’s voice brought you out of your head. “All right, come on! Hurry!”
Your group rushed down the tunnel. You stayed in the rear, and Sam headed up to the front. He began leading your group down to where you could faintly see a bit of daylight peeking through.
And then, the growling again.
“Fuck,” you muttered. “Get him outta here!” you instructed the Collinses.
“(Y/N), no,” Haley told you.
“Go!” you urged her.
She finally nodded and started pulling her brothers down the tunnel with her. You aimed your flare gun at the direction where the growling was coming from.
“C’mon, motherfucker,” you grumbled, scanning the tunnel.
“(Y/N)!” Sam called from behind you.
You wheeled around to come face to face with the Wendigo. In your startle, you missed your shot with the flare gun. Your only other option was to take off after the three Collins siblings, closely followed by Sam.
“Come on, hurry, hurry, hurry,” Sam ordered the group. “Get behind me.” Given Sam’s size, he was able to hide all three Collinses behind him. You knew your pistol was no use, but you still aimed it at the creature anyway.
The Wendigo approached, taking its time in getting to you.
“Hey!” you suddenly heard Dean from behind the Wendigo. It wheeled around, only for Dean to shoot it in the stomach.
Flames curled up the Wendigo’s horribly disfigured body in twisted tendrils. The creature let out a howl before collapsing to the ground in a pile of burning embers.
Dean was revealed behind where the Wendigo previously stood. “Not bad, huh?”
Despite yourself, you grinned.
A quite chipper, clearly freshman EMT had patched you up upon your return to civilization. You had an uncomfortable laceration on your neck, a few scrapes above your eyebrow, and your wrists burned from where you had been tied up. You’d survive, it would just take you a few days to recover from.
You watched from a short distance as Haley approached Dean, both of whom had been patched up. You scowled as Dean smirked lasciviously at Haley and couldn’t help the bile rising in your throat when Haley leaned in to kiss Dean’s cheek. She said one final thing to Dean before walking toward the ambulance carrying Tommy with Ben.
“Thanks, (Y/N)!” she called to you.
You waved at her with a lopsided smile. She returned your grin before hopping into the back of the ambulance.
Sam motioned for you to come back over to Dean’s car.
“Man, I hate camping,” said Dean as you approached.
“Me too,” you shivered.
“Still scared of the woods?” he asked you, his tone slightly patronizing.
You ignored his tone and answered earnestly. “Definitely. Probably more so, now.” You crossed your arms over your body and hugged yourself.
A moment of silence passed before Dean addressed his brother. “Sam, you know we're gonna find Dad, right?”
“Yeah, I know,” he nodded. “But in the meantime? I'm driving.”
Dean lolled his head to the side dramatically before tossing the keys to Sam. Recalling your fight with Dean at the campsite, you hesitated to get in the car when the brothers did.
“(Y/N), what are you doing?” Sam asked out of the driver’s side window. “Let’s go.”
You nodded, conceding, and hopped into the backseat. You threw your legs up on the leather beside you and stared out the window. Out of the corner of your eye, you could swear Dean was staring at you.

Shame on You
Tumblr media
Dean Winchester x Reader
You and Dean burned hot and heavy but life as a hunter hits hard and puts a strain on relationships. When you're pushed back into each other's lives will it be a second chance or a fool me once, shame on you situation?
Everyone has those memories that are set in stone. The ones that no matter who much you'd prefer to forget they refuse to budge, choosing instead to linger at the back of your mind. Waiting until you least expect them to spring their trap and make you remember, rather you'd like to or not.
Too many of those for you starred Dean front and center. Dean Winchester, a legend in the hunting world. Someone monsters feared, a name known in heaven and in hell but to you? Your traitorous heart kept a completely different side of him close no matter how much you wished to forget.
To you? Dean was the fifteen year old tried to act cool and aloof but had stayed up all night with you and Sam during the summer if you all happened to get dumped on Bobby. He was the eighteen year old that helped Bobby get your first car road ready. He was the twenty two year old who'd called you to tell you Sam was getting out of the life then the twenty six year old who'd been wracked with guilt over Jess.
He was the man who lost his father within two months of you losing your aunt but still managed the drive so you wouldn't be alone to light the pyre.
-------------
Dean was the man who called you on the road just to check in, the man who at one time made an hour drive in twenty minutes because you'd been hurt and said "I need help"
Dean was the man who put up the front that nothing ever bothered him but whenever you showed up you'd see that look in his eyes, that look that clearly said "She's not gonna back down until I face it" and you never did.
Dean was was the man who on the night he was bound for hell begged you to stay behind because "I don't want you to see me ripped to shred by hellhounds after your aunt dying by a werewolf"
--------------
Dean was the man who you fought shoulder to shoulder with against anything and everything that came your way. The man who would patch your wounds and tell you how strong you were even when you felt your weakest.
Dean was the man that when the two of you started getting closer he treated you like you were made of glass and even apologized the first time the two of you kissed, thinking he'd crossed a line you didn't want crossed. The man that the first time the two of you fell into bed with each other spent hours going over every inch of your skin, bringing you pleasure you'd never knowm with past lovers.
----------------
Dean was the man who you gladly gave your heart to, entrusting him fully with everything you had. You loved him in a way you'd never previously even dreamt of. Then the arguments had started.
They were small, simple stuff really. No relationship was perfect but as hunters somethings said were lines crossed. Doubting each other's survival abilities, citing that you were a hindrance in one blowup of anger and even telling you to "go home to Bobby" when all of you had gotten pretty banged up had been the final straw. You'd been pushed too far.
You knew Dean and you knew he was pushing you away to protect himself but you also knew to protect yourself and the love you would always have for him you needed to leave. So leave you did. That was until Sam called and said four words that drew you back into Dean's orbit "We need your help"
Tumblr media
"Out of every hunter we know, you call her?" Dean's voice was dangerously low. He was working hard not to yell, not to let his temper get the best of him but two years had passed since you walked out on him. Two years with his heart ripped out of his chest and out walking around in the world and only talking to his little brother instead of him.
Sam cut his eyes up from his computer screen, completely unphased by his brother's anger "You pushed her away Dean. Y/N loved you with everything she had but you kept pushing and pushing. It's what you always do. I can't falt her because you can't communicate for shit"
"Why do we need her on this hunt?" Dean repeated ignoring the insult, so Sam turned the screen around "because her aunt discovered the species. As far as I can tell out of hunters that are still alive that's faced it she's the only one. It was either I call her and she works the case with us or she ends up finding it on her own and works it solo and could end up getting hurt or worse on a solo hunt. Last time it took her, Bobby and her aunt to take out a pack. You really want to send her alone?"
That thought stopped him in his tracks. It felt like the air had been ripped from his lungs at the thought of you dead. "How long until she'll get here?" He asked about the time Sam's phone dinged. Sam glanced at the screen and shrugged "About ten minutes"
Tumblr media
The bunker was just how you remembered it. A part of you felt like you should park your car next to Dean's impala and go chunk your bag in his room but that was then, this was now. You waited at the heavy outer door until it opened to reveal Sam on the other side. "Sam" you greeted with a smile and when you reached up to hug him he met you halfway. "It's good to see you Y/N"
When you pulled away from each other you looked past his shoulder and he half grinned "He's in the library, looking over the lore you sent ahead" you nodded "I bet he's so thrilled you called me" his smile softened "He still loves you" you shook your head "Fool me once Sammy. Sometimes you need more than love, you actually have to want the other person there"
He opened his mouth like he wanted to say something but stopped and shook his head "This is gonna be an interesting hunt to say the least"
---------------
You followed Sam down the winding stairs despite knowing the bunker as well as he did. You could find the library blind folded. "Dean?" Sam called out and your heart proved traitorous yet again by nearly leaping out of your chest.
The stubble that always graced his sculpted jaw was thicker than usual as if he'd missed trimming it by a day or two, the white Henley he wore under a dark blue shirt was unbuttoned to the point enough of his neck and collarbone was sticking out that you lost your train of thought as memories of the sounds he made when your lips traced that sensitive flesh flashed through your mind. Fuck, this had been a bad idea. You quickly schooled your features hoping Dean hadn't clocked you taking your time looking over any physical changes on him.
Dean on the other hand was barely able to meet your eyes. You looked as beautiful as always. Your hair was back in a braid, small pieces had worked their way loose but he imagined that was probably due to you riding with the windows down and the radio turned up. Your jeans were torn in a few places and the Led Zeppelin shirt you wore had seen better days but he couldn't have imagined anyone looking better in that moment than you alive and right in front of him after two years of only hearing your voice on the rare occasions he'd been in the room when you'd call Sam.
"Hey Dean" your voice was low, barely above a whisper. He nodded slowly before finally saying "Hey Y/N" you tore your gaze from him and looked at Sam, a tired smile slipping onto your face "Police and medical examiner reports please? Then we can gather what we need and hit the road. Faster we get to Missouri, faster we stop this stop. Then we really need to get Garth and a few more hunters of the like up to speed on the lore because I'm one person I can't be on speed dial every time these son of bitches crawl out their caverns"
Dean watched you slip into hunter mode with a small smile on his face, he loved you just as much as he had the day everything imploded between the two of you. He had to remind himself you were here for this hunt, not for him. No matter how much that truth hurt. "Lets get to work"
Tumblr media
For some reason Sam had deemed it a good idea to send you and Dean to the medical examiners office together while he went to talk to the local police. Good idea in theory, divide and conquer and all that. The problem? Your patience was wearing thin before this hunt started.
You had to make two stops to get the needed supplies to make bullets that would put these things down, the motel only conjoining rooms left, you'd been left with the choice to let Sam take your car or to chauffeur Dean around and now the blonde, leggy medical examiner couldn't take her eyes off Dean long enough to let the two of you fully examine the bodies.
Your fed suit felt like it was choking you, the air in the office felt thick and you felt like you may very well throw a punch if something didn't change in the next five seconds. "Ms Jones is it normal protocol for the medical examiner to eye fuck the federal agent sent to examine the bodies of the victims found littered throughout the area or are you just adding on to your job title?"
You weren't sure who was more shocked by your words. Dean, Ms Jones or yourself. She composed herself quickly you had to give it to her so you attempted a backpeddle "What Agent Wilson chooses to do with his downtime once this case is closed is up to him and I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade but you did tell our other partner Agent Cohen that you currently have what four bodies on ice? Now Agent Wilson is a looker as are you but I'm sure you both can wait a few more days"
Dean swallowed a smirk but you clocked it before he did as she apologized "I sincerely apologize Agent Taylor for my lack of professionalism" you forced a smile "I'll try not to let it slip when I report back to the state board" her face paled several shades as she led the two of you back to where the bodies were kept.
--------------
You were silent the entire ride back to the hotel, using the files in your lap as an excuse but you were fuming. You want to go back as knock Ms Laura Jones' perfect white teeth down her throat. How dare she flirt with your..... with Dean...with what she thought was an Agent on a case. The unprofessionalism. That's definitely what was bothering you. Not the thought that maybe he would've flirted back if you had gone with Sam.
"Y/N" Dean's voice broke through your thoughts and you glanced up to see you were back at the hotel and let out a breath. "Thank god" you wanted to get back into your jeans and get to work figuring out an idea of where these things could be held up. You needed to kill something.
You could feel Dean's eyes on you as you slid out the impala and lovingly ran a hand down the side of your own car. You needed this case over as soon as possible, for the sake of what little sanity you had left.
Tumblr media
Dean didn't want to dwell on how good jealousy looked on you even when you never would've taken claim to the emotion or on how his heart had attempted to leap free of his chest to find its way to you where it knew it belonged when he realized you were indeed seething with anger at Laura's flirting.
He didn't want to humor the fact that whenever he didn't look at you he could feel your eyes on him and when he glanced your way he could see your shoudlers tense slightly in that way that was you acknowledging that you felt his attention but refused to return it.
He didn't want to think about the way you chewed on your bottom lip in concentration as you helped Sam make the bullets. He damn sure didn't want to think about any memories that flashed through his head when you had glanced up to pass him the bullets and half smiled. You owned him to this day and this damn hunt was tearing his heart out.
------------------
You had mapped out two likely locations for the nests for these things. They were within about forty yards of each other but you'd known the boys would never agree to you checking out one alone. That meant either everyone checking one then heading to the other or one of the boys going alone.
You knew before he ever said what Dean was thinking "I'll take the north one, clear it. If I find something I'll call and you two come running" you leveled him with a glare "Dean these things are as fast as a Wendigo, as bloodthirsty as a rugaru and damn near as hard to kill as a ghoul. Against anything else you'd have my vote of confidence but I don't like you going in alone"
He gave you a smirk in return "Don't worry about me sweetheart. Been fine up until this point"
--------------------
You were begging your legs to move a little faster, your lungs to suck in a little more air and your body to be just a little stronger. There were six. The last pack had been four. Damn these things.
You felt the air currents move a half second before a body slammed into you and your back connected with the solid wall of the cave. You slid down with a heavy grunt and looked up to see one of the slobbering things over you. "Damn you're ugly"
Your gun had gotten knocked out of your hand but you'd smeared your knife in the concoction that was used in the bullet so you hoped that was enough. You slipped it from your boot and waved a hand at the thing "Cmon then, we don't got all night"
You went back and forth with the thing, narrowly avoiding its talons but finally seeing an opening to drive your knife hilt deep into its chest. You didn't hesitate to see if the knife would kill it instead you dove for your gun and flipped around the moment your hand wrapped around the cool metal and fired two rounds into the things head.
It fell with a heavy thud and you let out a breath, falling back against the dirt. "Y/N" You heard Dean's deep voice echoing your name and hollered "This way!" The moment he skid into view you saw he had a slice above his eyebrow and was favoring his side but the concern on his face was not for himself, he was looking at you.
You pushed yourself up to your feet as his eyes raked over your body, marking each visible mark no doubt "I'm fine Dean. Sam get the vics out?" He nodded "They're at the ranger station. Story is they were hiking and got stranded running away from a bear" you kicked the thing at your foot "What? Cocaine bear?" He grinned "I mean..we could sell it" he offered you his hand and you hesitantly took it.
You scrunched up your nose "I need a shower"
Tumblr media
Once everyone had showered you gathered back with the boys in their room for first aid application. Sam needed stitches on his left shoudler, Dean needed a couple on that slice above his eye and had bruised ribs. You turned out fairly lucky considering the only bleeding you had was from scraping your arm and a leg on the walls of the cavern and your back would be bruised like hell from that slam but besides that nothing was broken so you'd all faired pretty well.
You were currently perched on the edge of the dresser, nursing a bottle of water and watching as Sam finished emailing Garth, The Banes twins, Donna,Jody and a handful of other hunters everything you knew about these things to update the collective lore.
Dean was sitting on the edge of his bed nursing a beer and trying to avoid your eyes. You were hoping they wouldn't need your help with anything for a while because now that the pre hunt and post hunt adrenaline was fading, the aching pain that accompanied the knowledge that the green eyed hunter that sat so close to you might as well have been a million miles away because he was no longer yours.
Sam glanced up once he was done "Anything to add?" You shook your head "That's it" he nodded "Ok then" you slowly stood up then motioned to the door that connected your rooms "I'm gonna hit the hay then. Roads calling my name so I'm hitting it bright and early"
Sam stood up and pulled you into a hug "it was good to see you after all this time" you smiled "Sorry for being a stranger" he barely glanced towards Dean before whispering "I get it" you stepped away from Sam and nudged Dean's shoudler on the way by "Guess you're free to hit up Laura now" he scoffed lightly "Yeah. Hey, stay safe sweetheart and if you ever need us...just call"
You half smiled "Same goes for me" before walking into your room and closing the door. You leaned back against it and shut your eyes to try to stow off the emotions. You could do this. You just needed a little sleep then you could hit the road.
Tumblr media
"You're an idiot" Sam didn't waste any time tearing into Dean once he was sure you had secured the door behind yourself. Dean threw his hands up defensively "What did i do?"
Sam motioned to the door you'd just disappeared through "Nothing, that's the point. I've seen you mourn what you had with her for the last two frickin years man. You love her! You still do! You said it terrified you hearing gunshots then seeing her down. Don't let her walk away again without an effort. I'd give almost anything for that to be Jess on the other side of that door. Talk to her, tell her what she means to you. Argue, scream, have sex...hell do whatever you have to in an attempt to fix this because it's achingly clear you both still love each other with everything. I know why you pushed her away but it didn't work. She still loves you. So would you rather her die having spent the previous night in your arms or her die thinking you no longer wanted her?"
Dean didn't have to say anything for Sam to know his words had hit home. He nodded slowly looking from Sam to the door "Go" Sam repeated so Dean sat the beer on the side table and walked across the room before heading to the adjoining door so Sam buried his nose in his laptop in an attempt to make it seem like he wasn't paying any attention.
Tumblr media
You had just brushed your teeth and plugged your phone in and was about to crawl into bed when a knock at the adjoining door drew your attention. You smoothed the cloth shorts you were wearing and went to answer it, half expecting Sam but there stood Dean.
"Yeah?" You asked looking from him to where Sam sat blatantly trying to appear as if he wasn't paying the two of you any attention. Dean scrubbed a hand across the back of his neck "Can we talk?" You nodded "Yeah, sure"
You stepped by to let him in about the time Sam glanced up. The two of you had a silent conversation which consisted of you asking if he knew what Dean wanted and him shrugging.
-----------
You nodded and turned back into your room, closing the door behind yourself and leaning against it. Dean stood in the center of your room looking a little out of place. "How ya been?" He asked then grimaced along with you. "We're not strangers Dean"
He nodded then sat down on the edge of the bed that wasn't disturbed and ran a hand down his face before looking up at you, a playful smirk finding his face "I'd offer a backrub since I know you're probably hurting but I doubt you'd take me up on the offer" you laughed and walked past him to sit on the edge of the dresser to face him before shrugging "Last time you gave me a backrub we broke the bed at Donna's cabin"
He nodded slowly, his gaze dropping to his hands. Several long moments passed before he finally spoke "I get why you left me" you let out a breath of air that sounded a lot more like a sigh than you meant for it to "Dean please.." you really didn't feel like tapping into the self worthlessness John had instilled so deep into him. You'd tried so hard for years for him to see himself like you did, how Sam did. How damn near everyone who cared for him did.
He held up his hand to cut you off "Hold on. I'm taking the blame. I pushed you away" when his eyes met yours you felt anger boil up into your chest "Why?"
"Why?" He echoed and you nodded "Why? Why did you let Cassie get close? You let Lisa get close? Yet you kept me at arms length for years. You let me fall in love with you then no matter what I did it wasn't good enough Dean! I WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH" You hadn't meant for your voice to raise but when he cut his eyes at the adjoining door you realized it had.
"You were always good enough" he replied. You jumped to your feet, driven by anger and pain along with the aching love you still felt for the man in front of you "THEN WHY PUSH ME AWAY INSTEAD OF FUCKING FIGHTING FOR ME?"
"BECAUSE YOU FUCKING SCARE ME OK?" You froze dead in your tracks at his response. "What?" He stood, taking a couple steps to put space between the two of you before turning to face you "Most of my life it was me and Sammy. Dad was a joke as a parent. Bobby was a constant that was gonna be there regardless. No one else was there, no else really mattered. When we were younger you were a friend. Another kid dragged into this shit show of a life too young but then he went to Stanford and all of a sudden you're the only person I knew in the life. You turned from this...this kid that used to be dumped off at Bobby's along with me and my little brother to this amazingly strong and beautiful woman. You turned into a constant in my life, the one thing that I could always count on. I never meant to fall in love with you because I never would've wanted to put the target that comes with a Winchester loving someone on your back but I did. Then when you loved me back?" He let out a breath, running a hand over his face.
You stood there staring at him, unsure what to say. Where was this two years ago? Why now? "Why have you waited two years to say this?" You couldn't help the venom in your voice. You were hurt and in all the years you'd known Dean before the two of you had gotten together you were stupid enough to think he'd abstained the last two years.
He shrugged "Because I'm an idiot? I thought if I tried hard enough you'd stop loving me and then I could just throw myself into hunting. I could find all the biggest cases. Make sure only little ones were left, keep you as safe as I could" "Dean my aunt died on a werewolf case. Not exactly a world ender" you replied and he nodded "I know. I know"
He turned to face you and you saw his shoulders sag "I'm human sweetheart. I'm not perfect. You of all people know that but I love you now more than ever. I never stopped loving you. It's going to end my world the day you stop breathing but when and if that day comes I'd rather face it knowing the last night we both spent on earth was in each other's arms. I broke your heart and I can't begin to make up for that but I will try with everything I have because there has not been a single day that I've stopped loving you. I have not touched another woman in the last two years, I can get tests if you need me to. I'll take it slow. We can start back by dating.."
You cut him off by crashing your lips against his. When you pulled away he smiled softly then raised both eyebrows "What was that for?" You laughed and shook your head "I love you Dean" you cut your eyes at the bed then added "now want to make up for the last two years?" A groan came from deep in his chest as he pulled you to him "You don't know how damn much"
You stopped him before he could press another kiss to your lips and he looked defeated at first before you said "Don't ever push me away again" he nodded "Yes ma'am" then grinned "Now can I kiss you?" "You can do whatever you want Winchester" you promised and his eyes darkened to a deep green, "I love you" he swore before crashing his lips against yours.

It was gradual.
She noticed how tired Sam was all of the time. She blamed it on the usual stress of hunting. After a few months she begins to notice how it's every single time she sees him. It's almost like he never has the chance to sleep.
She mentions it to Dean, who tells her that Sam's handling things just fine. She doesn't agree.
During a hunt that Sam was doing with her, she noticed the nightmares. She would ask him about it the next day, or offer to grab coffee whenever he woke up in a cold sweat. The results were the same every single time. He would brush off her concern, just like Dean had.
She was a light sleeper, an occupational hazard. It was the last night at the piece of shit hotel with Sam. She awoke to the sound of mumbling and someone thrashing around. Her hand went to the hilt of the knife hidden between the bed and the dresser. Once her weapon was safely in her hands she flicked on the lamp.
Her eyes scanned the room. It had just been Sam. She sighed, dropping the knife on the little dresser. She stood and sat on the edge of Sam's bed. She didn't want to wake him but the pained mumbles slipping past his lips, and his horrified expression made her.
She was careful, knowing he would be frightened and disoriented whenever he woke up. She shook his shoulders, making sure to be ready for whenever he would wake up. He sat up, looking like he had seen a ghost. She gently grabbed his wrists whenever his fists went flying.
He blinked a few times, realizing where he was. And who he had almost punched.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Shit," He quickly apologized. His expression still held the same horrified look. It broke her heart to see him like this.
She gave him a soft smile and let go of his wrists. He ran his fingers through his hair as he tried to fix all of the pieces sticking in every direction. She was patient, letting him wake up a bit more. She wouldn't start prying whenever he was this disoriented.
"It's okay," She said, placing a hand on his knee.
"No, it's not!" Sam replied, visibly distraught. He could have punched her. All for trying to help him.
"Is it about Jess?" She blurted. She wanted to help. Maybe if he talked about it, maybe she could help him. Seeing him suffer like this was painful. It hurt seeing such a close friend in pain.
Her father was a hunter too. She had grown up around the Winchester boys. She had always been good friends with both of, especially Sam. The two were close, well, as close as they could be with the lifestyle they led.
". . . Yeah, it is," Sam replied softly, looking down at his hands. He could not bring himself to meet her gaze. Not with the way he felt tears stinging his eyes. He didn't want her to see him like this.
"I'm here, and I'll listen. I'll do whatever you need me to do," She said.
Sam sniffled. He finally moved his gaze from his hands and looked at her as a tear finally spilled down his cheek. He didn't understand why she cared so much. Sure, they were friends. He didn't feel like he deserved this though.
"You can't bring her back. You can't stop her from getting burned on the god-damn ceiling just because I left her."
His words made her do a double take. She had known that his girlfriend's death had been horrific, and had involved a fire. She hadn't realized just how truly horrible it had been.
"No, I can't. But, I can help you," She said softly, brushing a tear off his cheek.
She wrapped her arms around him. He shuddered under her touch. He was too exhausted, in more than one way. He couldn't resist the comfort of her arms. He buried his head in her neck and let the tears fall.
She might not be able to save Jess from the horrible fate she had met, but she could help Sam. The poor boy needed it. The nightmares might only be about Jess, and that horrible night, but the scars hunting left on him went deeper than his skin. He felt them branded into his soul. Horrible memories waiting to punish him again.
He was more sensitive than Dean and his father. He never truly got over those things. He thought about them all of the time. It was like he couldn't escape. Walking down the street he would see someone who reminded him of a person he couldn't save. It was always something.
Maybe she really could help.
He clung to her even tighter, grateful for her silent comfort. Once the tears dried up, and he felt like he would never be able to cry again, he pulled away. He awkwardly rubbed at his tear stained cheeks.
"Thank you," He said softly, hating how weak his voice sounded.
"You don't need to thank me."

LESSONS IN PHOTOGRAPHY
Jessie Fleming x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: a little short one that I wrote in an hour
W/C: 1k
Warnings: not really smut but a little suggestive and some masturbation so MDNI 18+
so if you're looking for hardcore smut this is not it
Will do a part 2 which will be actual smut if I get a request for it
After your girlfriend signed with the Thorns your life in London was uprooted and together you made the move to Portland.
You'd both been to the city on occasions in the past but after living in Portland for a month now yourself and Jessie realised neither of you had really explored the place you now called home.
Your girlfriend clad in some white shorts and a black tank top yourself in dark blue shorts and a loose fitting white shirt, you found yourself downtown with a checklist of places you "MUST" visit according to Jessie's teammate Sam.
No surprise to you, your better half had her camera hanging off of her shoulder with one hand in yours and the other holding a large cup of what she calls "liquid heaven"
As you wondered down the streets you noticed the way Jessie would stop occasionally, snapping photos of the roses, lining herself up to get the correct angles of the buildings she liked the look of. Jessie would spend sometime perfecting her shot at each place you went to.
Yourself a fan of history would read out facts from your phone about said buildings or architecture Jessie was capturing. Unbeknownst to you a few of those photos she captured were of you in deep thought or in awe of what you were looking at. You really were the perfect match.
Jessie loved her camera almost as much as you and was hardly seen without it. That being said one of the few things she loved more was capturing you, from every single angle.
She enjoyed capturing the way your lip would tuck between your teeth as you would concentrate on one of your crossword puzzles, the way that vein would pop out of your neck when you were frustrated with whatever had you occupied. She would never get sick of taking these photos, especially the ones capturing your smile and the warmth behind your eyes.
You'd never really known this about Jessie until the day was almost coming to an end and you'd caught her taking a photo of you. After questioning Jessie and adding slight pressure when she wouldn't tell you anything and mimicking zipping her mouth shut, locking it and throwing away the key. You finally broke her finding out all about Jessie's little habit profusely blushing as she told you.
Returning to the apartment later on that evening you has begged Jessie to show you the photos she'd taken of you. Opening her laptop you saw the folder titled 'My girl" and your heart swelled, then almost combust when you saw the number of photos in the album. 4,332 to be exact.
"Oh Jessie" you say looking at her
She returns your gaze nervously "too much?"
"You're perfect Jess" you say leaning in to kiss her.
Pulling away Jess can't help but look into your eyes as she fiddles with her fingers. "I have a question... well more of a request which I've kinda wanted to do for awhile"
She pauses for a breath unsure how to go on. "Go ahead?" You say anxiously waiting to see what the request was.
"Iwanttophotographyounaked" she rushes out, once noticing your confusion she repeats herself this time a little slower, taking a deep breath "I want to photograph you naked, if that's okay?"
"Yeah?" You question excitedly.
"Yeah"
After discussing how you were going to go about it Jessie led you into your shared bedroom. Kissing you before she helped you remove your clothes.
"Are you sure, if you want to stop we can at anytime"
"I'm sure" you confirm.
"I want you to lay on your side with your head propped up in your hand" she begins to direct you.
You do as she says and get into position, after a few clicks Jessie then asks you to change position. Repeating this for awhile as you pose in various ways for her, occasionally complimenting you, telling you how good your jawline looks or the way the light cascades down the swell of your breasts.
She couldn't help but be in awe of how beautiful you looked.
Getting more bold Jessie then started directing you to pose in some more compromising positions like with your head thrown back or your hands squeezing your chest.
You couldn't deny that it was turning you on being told exactly what to do by Jessie.
Eventually being more bold yourself you began to touch yourself for Jessie, the clicks of her camera becoming faster.
Your hand snakes between your legs finding your evident arousal.
You slid your fingers along your folds spreading your wetness, Jessie's mouth watering as she captured the way your sex glistened.
She made sure to take in the way you bit your lip, your legs as they spread wider, the way your hand furiously rubbed between your legs your finger tips as the swiped across your clit.
"Fingers inside" Jessie demands
You'd be a fool not to comply and with that two of your fingers are swallowed into your wanting pussy with ease.
You were embarrassingly wet but showing off for Jessie you didn't care.
"Curl those fingers baby I want to see the pleasure on your face"
Taking photos of every inch of you she couldn't get enough wanting to capture every single part of this moment.
After a few more directions from Jessie regarding position and how to touch yourself you were right on the edge.
Your girlfriend practically drooling as your face contorted in pleasure, snapping the pictures of your screwed up face as you came and the arousal spread across your thighs.
Taking your fingers and sucking them clean putting on a show for Jessie as she continued to snap away with her mouth agape.
"Fuck it" she groaned almost throwing her camera to one side as she pounced on you.
"I need to taste you"
Shoving your fingers covered in your slick into her mouth, her eyes roll back as she swirls her tongue around your digits releasing them with a pop.
"I think it's only fair I get to fuck you after that little show"

Tumblr media
today is one of those days where the reality of your life feels strange, unwelcome, and somewhat foreign. it’s not as if you’re new to the hunting life; it’s just the opposite, and yet, you often feel removed from it, especially after having lived normally at college for a few years. but you were ripped back into hunting without being able to finish your degree by your father after the death of your closest cousin.
so now you’re cooped up in a crappy motel room searching endlessly through detailed lore websites and the few books you have on you, trying to make sense of the odd patterns of killings in the small california town. that’s part of the pit in your stomach for today; the beach town, cayucos, is only three hours from stanford.
being so close to your former university after almost a whole year brings back a whole lot of mixed feelings. mostly longing for the normalcy that you loved and lost, but also a renewed urgency to find what killed your cousin. she had been studying at a different college just an hour inland from you. when she died, you had wanted to salt and burn her body and move on. but when your father showed up with proof of odd circumstances, he pursuaded you to rejoin him in the hunting life.
the deaths in cayucos are certainly odd, but they lack the defining features that would allow you to identify the creature at fault. so, you’re searching for anything with a grudge against hot men and a killing cycle of seven years since those are about the only patterns so far. your dad is at the coroner’s office, meeting with an old hunter friend to check out the body of the latest victim.
that’s been another reminder of your brief time at a normal school with normal friends and normal hobbies. when your dad first told you he called in a friend to help, he’d asked you, “d’you remember john winchester? you met him once when you were a kid, he’s an old buddy of mine.” you shook your head and he shrugged, saying something about how it makes sense; you were young and only met him once. but the name stuck in your mind as he left, and it had nothing to do with hunting or when you were a kid on the road, stuck in motels, school if you were there long enough, or the town library if you were lucky.
that name, or the last name anyway, comes from the stanford part of your life, the one you keep cherished in the most protected corners of your heart. sam winchester was one of your few friends during your time there, and after hearing his family name spoken aloud, he’s floating through your mind all day.
he disappeared after jess, his girlfriend and one of your other few friends, died, mere weeks before your own cousin died and you left standford as well. you’ve always wondered what happened to him, the best conclusion you could come to being that he couldn’t bear her death. they were absolutely in love with each other, but you know jess would have wanted him to finish at stanford, then head to that law school he was bound to get that full-ride to. sam always had an air of strength about him, so it surprised you when you never saw him again. he wasn’t even at her funeral, and to this day, that’s your singular bone to pick with him.
but, you can’t afford to think about him too much as you search for answers about the case. abandoning the lore websites for the meantime, you look over the police records of all the deaths that you can find, hoping to draw together any more patterns that you can use to narrow down your research. you’re jotting down a few notes, thinking you may have found something regarding accounts of a few of the men being last seen with a woman, when your train of thought is interrupted by an unexpected knock on the door.
on instinct, you draw your gun as you cross the room, looking through the peephole and silently cursing when you realize the light out front has gone out. all you can make out is the tall, broad silluete of a man thanks to the dimness of the twighlight sky.
you wait for a moment at the door, hoping he’ll just walk away after he doesn’t get an answer. but you’re unlucky, and he knocks again before calling out, “hello? rick sent me here to … help with the case, he said his kid was here. i’m john winchester’s son, sam.”
if you were in an old-timey cartoon, your jaw would’ve dropped to the floor. sam … sam winchester. it sounds just like him. trying to keep your head, you swap your gun for a nearby canteen of holy water and slip a silver knife into your pocket for accessibility. it’s too much of a coincidence for you to believe it.
you crack the door, just enough for him to hear you a bit better. “sam winchester? like stanford full-ride, lawyboy sam winchester?”
“i– how do you–” there’s a moment of silence, and you know that he’s piecing together the few clues he has; your voice and the last name you must share with your dad, the man he knows as rick. his voice is just as cautious as yours as he says your name like he can’t really believe it.
for a moment, you stop thinking when you hear his voice saying your name after so long, and you throw open the door and let him in. the light from the motel room finally illuminates his face, and it’s him, it’s really him. and the moment you think that is the moment you realize that could absolutely not be the case.
the second he turns to you from closing the door, you’re splashing holy water in his face so fast you barely catch the look he was about to give you; eyes so full of surprise and wonder and confusion and something akin to joy. you react quickly to his lack of reaction besides the normal surprise at getting splashed in the face, slashing at his arm with your silver knife to finish testing him. but he reacts just as fast as you, grabbing both of your wrists, spinning you around and pinning you to the flat surface of the door.
his hold is quite strong, but he doesn’t have the time to bear his full weight into holding you down before you react, so you’re able to manuever out of his hold with practiced ease. you lift one arm up as you yank the other down to make it so you’re able to slip down and to the side, out of his hold. then you’ve got a strong hand to his back, shoving him face-first against the door and your other arm bringing your knife to his throat.
the thought that his profile view with his pulled-taut eyebrows and the grimace on his mouth looks pretty has the audacity to float up to the forefront of your mind before you can squash it down. the whole struggle had taken mere seconds, and he resigns the minute you’ve got him pinned down.
“it’s me,” he pants, “i swear. ‘m not a shapeshifter or ghoul or anything, it was just instinct. sorry,” he explains quickly, “go ahead, test me.”
you debate saying “don’t mind if i do,” but decide that you don’t have to be teasing or snarky about it. instead, you tamp down your hesitance to hurt him, even a little bit because he still sort of feels like innocent, regular, lawboy sam to you, and you draw a thin line of blood at the spot where his neck slopes into his broad shoulder. there’s no burning, just a normal wince from his mouth, so you loosen your hold on him and step back, internally cringing at the small bit of blood beginning to slip down towards his collarbone.
“sorry,” you say, far more sincere than you would be if it’d been anybody else. this is the norm for hunters, but you haven’t quite wrapped your mind around the fact that sam is a hunter. you’d never once would have guessed, though you suppose that was the point. you had done everything you could to hide that part of your life during your time at stanford.
“it’s fine,” he gives you an awkward half-smile, just as sincere as you. “just, y’know, your turn.” you’d been so busy taking in the sight of him standing there, looking almost exactly the same, but not quite, as he had in college, that you forgot about the courtesy of testing yourself too.
“right,” you clear your throat, “of course.” without the hesitance any normal person would have, you take the knife to your forearm and splash a bit of holy water on your skin. “there we go. no demons or shapeshifters or the like. that’s good.” you feel incredibly awkward all of the sudden, still so bewildered and thrown off balance by the collision of your two words. it feels like too much of a coincidence for you to be this close to your old school, be thinking about sam winchester, a symbol of that old life, then for him to show up and flip your whole entire understanding of him. there’s just about a million things running through your mind at just about a million miles per hour and it’s starting to make your head hurt.
the movement of his hand, reaching up to hold the small cut you gave him is what brings you out of your short lived reverie.
“god, i’m sorry. let me get you something for that.” you don’t give him the time to politely tell you, “no, it’s okay,” like you know he would before you’ve turned your back and crossed the room to grab a first aid kit from your bag and some rubbing alcohol from the bathroom. “sit down,” you urge him when you turn back to him, motioning towards the table you’d been seated at when he arrived.
he complies and once again, you’re thinking about the strangeness of sharing this sort of space with him. you’re used to seeing him in libraries so big that they’re almost grand for quiet study sessions or in the dining hall with his nose buried in a book or in the lecture hall where you first met him in a gen-ed class. you’re used to seeing him on one of the grassy quads with jess by his side or him in the big, open, and fancy old university buildings. now he looks right at home in the dingy motel room, so small it feels like his tall, broad frame shouldn’t fit in here, so dim that his sometimes blue or green eyes look sort of muddy. they’re pretty, nonetheless.
you set the first aid kit on the table and pull out a large bandaid and a bit of gauze. you reasses the cut to be sure he doesn’t need any other sort of bandaging and almost sigh in relief when you see how shallow it is. sam doesn’t speak or protest that he’s fine to do it himself as you pull the collar of his t-shirt aside just a bit. you’re sure his mind’s busy with a whole load of questions for you, just like you for him. the brush of your knuckles against his skin suddenly makes his presence feel more real. whatever contact you’d had during the short-lived fight you’d had was completely surreal; you weren’t sure he was really even sam, and if he was, it would feel like a lie anyways, for his hands to be rough or so quick in a fight.
he doesn’t so much as wince when you press alcohol soaked gauze to the cut, and though the wound is small and shallow enough that you’re sure it barely stings, it still feels like a sign of his being a hunter, being used to pain. you don’t like that thought; sweet, sincere, and ever so smart sam being used to pain. as you take care of the cut, he lets his eyes wander around the room, probably taking in how familiar it is, and how weird that it’s your motel room and all of your belongings packed into a single bag and your computer screen displaying hacked into police reports and the very same lore websites he frequents to solve a tricky case.
when you’re done he thanks you with a small smile and you take the seat across from him. as your fingers had brushed over his bare skin and felt a whisper of his strong shoulders, you’d gotten the strong urge to hug him. you missed him even more than you thought. that urge doesn’t leave when you move away from him.
you make a confused face at sam when he reaches for the first aid kit and pulls out another set of bandaids and gauze. he just hands you a gauze now soaked with alcohol and nods at you.
“for your arm,” he explains, because you’ve already forgotten about that as you accept it with a questioning brow.
“right,” you chuckle softly, swiping over the cut with the gauze, then taking and applying the bandaid that sam opened for you. when you’re done you have to drag your eyes up to meet sam’s gaze. there’s tension in the room, and though it’s not bad per se, it’s begging to be addressed and you’re not sure how to even start. it seems like sam’s not sure either.
so, you choose to jump right into the fire.
“it’s so good to see you, sam,” you confess, pushing all your sincerity into your voice, “i mean, this is absolutely insane and i can’t quite wrap my mind around it, but i guess i don’t really care because it’s so good to see you. i worried about you so much after … after jess died, i mean, you just dissappeared and … and i can imagine that has something to do with the fact that you’re a hunter, which is sort of incomprehensible to me, but–,” suddenly you’re hit with a new realization. if sam’s disappearance had to do with the supernatural, you wonder if jess’s death did too. but you don’t want to ask, not right now. “oh, god, and i never got to tell you how sorry i am. i– i mean. i can’t imagine.” there’s where your voice trails off and you look to sam to be the one to say something now.
“thanks,” he answers simply, voice gentle but a little pained, rightfully so. “she was your friend, too. i mean, we were all friends. and i’m sorry i disappeared like that. i, um, well, you’re right. hunting dragged me away. it’s complicated and i’ll explain it to you later. you deserve to know what happened to jess, but– but it’s a lot.” a moment of silence allows that to sink in; so something did happen to her, something more than just faulty electrical wiring in her apartment. sam’s genuine as he goes on, “and it’s great to see you too, really. it’s so strange, i mean all of this, obviously, but it’s even stranger how close we are to stanford. i was already thinking about it, about you all on the way over, and the next thing i know, you’re the suspicious hunter throwing holy water in my face.”
you cringe a little at that, but sam smiles a little wider than he has all night. “that’s a good thing,” he half-laughs, “i don’t care how weird this coincidence is, i’m glad for it.” his hand twitches, almost as if he’d wanted to reach over and grab your hand, but thought better of it before it could happen. “i gotta ask, did you finish your degree?” the way he asks is so hopeful, and you immediately know how much he wants the answer to be yes. he’s thinking, if i couldn’t finish, please tell me at least one of us could. that one of us poor and foolish hunter kids who thought we could escape managed to long enough to finish a degree, prove that we could make something of ourselves in the normal world. it would be so nice to see that, if it couldn’t be me, it could be somebody, it could be you.
his face falls a little when he registers the sad smile on your face. your expression is more than enough of an answer, and the fact that he wanted so badly for you to have made it makes your heart break a little, for both him and you. we deserved better, you think.
“just about the same thing happened to me,” you begin to explain, “you remember my cousin, bex?” sam nods, recalling the way the two of you acted like siblings the few times he met her, how much you liked alike when you smiled, already sad for what he suspects he might hear. “she died a few weeks after jess. she and i both grew up hunting, and we both thought we got out of it, at least for a little while. we almost lasted all four years … i didn’t think there was anything weird with her death, but … my dad showed me proof of just that at her funeral, convinced me to come back to hunting with him. she was– she was hiding something, and, honestly i’m still not sure what happened. progress on her case has been slow. real slow, so we’ve been working on others in the meantime. keeping busy, you know.”
“oh, i know,” sam sighs, and you completely believe him. you wonder for a moment what bigger things he’s digging into before deciding it’s best if the two of you stick to what’s in front of you. if you go too deep, having each other, a new kind of steady presence from better times, might start feeling too unreal again.
you want to preserve this delicate balance, where sam is still stanford sam and you’re still stanford you, but now there’s just a deeper understanding of each other. a knowing of what it’s like to grow up with a hunter for a father, to want to get away from it all, to want a sense of normalcy, and to want to learn and become something more and say “screw you!” to all of the expections. and on top of that, knowing how it feels to get so close to the finish line, only to have it ripped out of your hands like you’re a child who’s parents think they’ve had too much candy. only it’s far worse than a half eaten lollipop in the trash because people that you love died, and it was all so much more than just chasing after a momentary sugar high.
“i’m sorry about bex,” sam says, this time actually reaching out and placing his hand on yours for a moment. his voice is as full of empathy and sincerity as ever. “she was amazing the few times i met her. i could see how close you two were.”
“thanks, sam.” you give him a small smile because those words feel so much better coming from him than just about anyone else. with that, the air seems to settle a little, and it’s far more bearable. you’ve still got a hundred and one questions to ask and a hundred and one more things to say to each other, but to find out you have this near-exact shared experience is like having so much of the weight of loneliness lifted from your chest. and it all feels even better because you know sam. you know him already.
sure, there’s a whole lot you missed before, but you don’t doubt for a second that the sam sitting in front of you is as kind, funny, smart, witty, sincere, adorably awkward, and good as the sam you met and came to know at stanford. in fact, knowing he grew up the way he did just reaffirms his goodness to you. it’s not easy to live like that and continue choosing to be kind and well-meaning and true to yourself. then there’s this feeling of admiration for sam, just blooming in your chest and you hold back a wide grin because the timing’s not quite right. you still can’t shake the urge to hug him.
“well,” you smile casually, if not a little rueful as you say your next words, “i think our dads will go all hunter-dad-crazy on us if we keep playing catch up. i’ll give you a run down of everything i’ve got, then we can do what dropouts from the west coast’s most prestigious school’s do best; research.”
sam’s smile matches your own, and it’s achingly familiar. “well, we can’t have those asses ruin our not-quite-stanford-alumni reuinion. let’s get to work. we can pretend it’s like the good old days, spring freshman year, all of us cramming for the way-er exam at the back of the library and getting shushed by the librarians. we can pretend john and rick are the librarians.”
for the first time in a long time, you let out a loud laugh, surprised and pulled right out of you without warning. he smiles wide at the sound and finally, without restraint, you grin back. god, you missed him.

You took a deep breath, stepping out of the uber. You strutted into the bar, anxiety hitting you once inside. You searched around, until finally stopping on Jess. You waved, walking over to her.
She stood up, giving you a quick hug, "Wow, Y/N. It's been so long! How have you been? You look great."
"Thanks, Jess. I know, it feels like forever since we last saw each other." You answered honestly.
"Yeah, I think the last time was..." Her voice trailed off, thinking.
"The book." You deadpanned.
She nodded, "Right. The book."
You sat down, your eyes looking her over, "Speaking of, do you have it?"
"Of course. I saw your text to bring it so I did." She pulled it out, sliding it across the table. It still looked the same, leather bound and old, and the sight of it made your heart flutter.
You sighed, "I appreciate you doing this. I wasn't sure if you were still mad at me from last time or-"
"No, no. I shouldn't have gotten so upset with you. Obviously, if someone had told me a magic book was going to make me a boyfriend, I too would have thought they were crazy," Jess laughed. "Well, I guess in your case, two boyfriends."
"Yeah about that... that's why I need this book." You admitted.
"You want to get rid of them? Why?" She asked, leaning in.
"They've been gone for a while now. They pop into my dreams, but haven't been around in about a year. The last time I saw them..." Your mind flooded with the previous time, months back, of them fucking you in front of all your coworkers. None of them remembered the next day, but you did. The images alone made it hard to look anyone in the eye anymore. Your face heated up, "I'll just say it was the last time I truly wanted to see them. They have gone too far and I just don't know how much more I can take from them."
Her expression softened. "I can only imagine what dating a vampire and a demon would be like."
"Dating is the nicest way to describe what we have. It's more of a... free use situationship." You huffed, "But I can't deal with it anymore. I want a normal life, no matter what they claim."
"What do they say?" She inquired.
"They say I enjoy this, what we do. And while that is true to some extent, I can't keep living like this. I mean, how much longer am I supposed to keep having them show up randomly in my life to fuck my brains out? Sure, I enjoy it in the moment, but afterwards I feel embarrassed." You divulged, lowering your eyes to the table.
"I mean, if you like it you shouldn't feel ashamed." She remarked.
"Well, I do. And I just want them gone. I think I've paid my dues back entirely to this book." You gaze down at it, stroking the cover, "I'm sorry. Please help me get rid of them."
She snickered, "How about we don't do that in the middle of this bar?"
"That's probably a good idea." You placed the book next to you, exhaling. "So, how has your dating life been since the book shut? Please tell me it went back to normal so that I might have something to look forward to."
"Oh yeah, it's been normal alright. Some highs, some lows." She chuckled, "Speaking of, I actually invited one of the guys I've been seeing to come here."
"That's cool. Is he nice?" You questioned.
"Yeah, super sweet. And he plans to bring his best friend with him. So, if you wanna stick around and meet him, maybe you can start this new chapter sooner rather than later?" She suggested, beaming mischievously.
You shrugged, "Sounds good to me. Let's get a drink first though."
"Already ordered. Should be here... now." Jess smiled at the waitress, who placed down two drinks. "Thank you."
You raised your drink, "Cheers... to new beginnings."
"Cheers." She raised her glass, clinking it with yours. You both sipped on your drinks, nodding at the taste. Jess' phone buzzed on the table, she glanced down and beamed. "Oh, they're here."
You nodded, waiting uncomfortably. You weren't sure if you were really in the mood to meet these two new guys, but you figured you'd stay to finish your drink and then leave. No harm, no foul.
"Hey baby girl, how you doing?" A familiar voice spoke, walking up to Jess and embracing her.
You glanced up. Your stomach dropped and your heart sped up. This can't be happening.
"Hey Sam. This is my friend Y/N." Jess introduced.
"Hello, nice to meet you." Sam grinned, then pointed next to you. "And this is my friend Colby."
"Hi." Colby stated simply, locking eyes with you. His face was cold, with just a hint of a devilish glint.
You shuttered a breath, chest heavy. "There's no fucking way..."
"What? What's wrong?" Jess furrowed her brow.
"I-I, I can't do this. No. I absolutely won't do this." You slid out of your seat, shoving Colby and walking towards the bathrooms. You could hear them call after you, but you ignored them. You needed to leave, you knew that. But you wanted to just be away from them for a moment to get your bearings.
You stumbled into the bathroom, locking yourself in a stall. You took some deep breaths, trying to calm yourself. You were okay, you were in control, and there was no way that this was going to start up again. Sam and Colby were just fucking with you, once again, and you were not going to allow that to happen. You had the book, and so you-
FUCK, the book! The book was still on the table.... now with Sam and Colby.
You covered your face with your hands, muffling a scream of frustration. You grunted, pushing the stall door open and exiting the bathroom.
You stomped back into the bar, freezing the moment you did. The table was empty, Jess, the boys, and the book were nowhere to be found. There was, however, a small note on the table. You grabbed it, reading it quickly.
If you want to see the book again, come to the back of the bar.
- Sam and Colby
You spun on your heel, retracing your steps. You passed the bathrooms, continuing to walk down the hallway. You had been to this bar a couple times before, knowing that the back area was for special occasions, parties. As you drew closer to the room, you noticed the red lights illuminating the hallway and door. You swallowed hard, turning the knob and stepping into the room.
It was dark, and very hard to make out anything in it. You knew there were tables and chairs around, but you didn't see any from the little vision you had. You raised your hand, trying to feel around for a light switch or something. Suddenly, you felt a hand grab you, shoving you down onto a soft surface. You fought against their hold; pushing, shoving. But it didn't stop them from wrapping something tight around your wrists, pulling them away from your body. You cursed out whoever was touching you, kicking them hard. They had no reaction to you, just pushing your legs back down onto the surface.
The lights in the room turned on. You blinked rapidly, looking around quickly. You were on a bed, tied to the bedpost by your wrist. At the end of the bed stood Sam and Colby, smiling at you.
"Princess, so glad you could join us." Colby quipped.
Sam nodded, "We've missed you so much."
"Fuck you! What the hell is this shit for?" You yelled, shaking against your binds.
"You know, we could ask you the very same thing about..." Colby pulled the book out from behind his back, "This."
"Care to explain why you have this?" Sam asked innocently.
"Just gonna do some light reading." You sneered.
Colby rolled his eyes, "You don't really have room to play coy with us, Y/N. You might want to start explaining yourself."
"I have nothing to say to you." You spat.
"Is that so? Then I guess you're okay with this." Sam pulled out a silk cloth. You glared at him and the fabric, confused. He slid up the bed, taking the cloth and wrapping it around your head, covering your mouth. You tried to fight against him, but with your arms tied there wasn't much you could do besides rock your body side to side.
"As much as I love your little moans and whimpers, you not being able to talk gets me going just as much." Sam teased, his voice low in your ear.
You rolled your eyes and watched him slithered back down to the end of the bed.
"Now that we've got your complete attention, let's start. First off, princess, how dare you?" Colby scoffed. "We've done nothing but make your life better and this is the thanks we get? You, trying to get rid of us? Bad girl."
"Even though we haven't been around, we have been watching you. And we heard about your little plan to cut us loose. How exactly did you think that would play out for you?" Sam demanded.
Colby stepped closer, glaring down at you. "Do you remember what we said last time? You're ours. We own you. What about that screams 'I have a choice'?"
Sam leaned against the bedpost, "Well, she does have a choice. She just realistically won't make the one that actually sends us away."
"You're right, Sam. You know why? Because she enjoys this. Us. What we do to her." Colby chuckled darkly.
"Exactly. And God knows, if she saw us with someone else, she would lose her mind." Sam taunted.
You grunted against the gag, angrily.
"What was that sweetheart? You're gonna have to speak up." Colby sassed, his eyes cold.
You glared daggers at Colby, cursing him out loudly in your head.
"Ooh, harsh words from such a sweet girl." He slid his hand over his chest, "If I had a heart, it would be broken."
"I have one... It doesn't beat, though. But if it did, it would beat only for you." Sam fluttered his eyelashes at you jokingly.
"Always the romantic, Sam." Colby exhaled, "Anyway, how about we test out our theory? Would you do the honors?"
"Sure." Sam turned to the door, calling, "Jess! Come on out."
Colby narrowed his eyes, mumbling. "I could have yelled for her."
Jess stepped into the room, slowly walking over and standing in between Sam and Colby. Your heart sped up, gazing back and forth between her and them. Was she under their spell? Why was she not reacting?
He pointed between the two of them, "Do you wanna go first or-?"
Sam agreed, "You go ahead. I am the one that's been dating Jess."
"That's true. Jess?" She turned to Colby, her glassy eyes reflecting in the lights. "Start sucking his dick."
Jess nodded, dropping to her knees instantly and undoing Sam's pants. You gasped against the gag, looking away as best you could.
"No no, princess. You need to watch. This is your punishment, after all." Colby marched up to you, turning your head to them. His eyes snaked over your face, smirking. "If looks could kill… I'd be dead again. But anyway, keep looking at them."
Your eyes locked onto Jess and Sam, widening as you realized you couldn't look away.
"Happy Halloween, babe." He warned cockily, "Remember... I'm a lot stronger tonight. And so is Sam."
Jess' head bobbed up and down on Sam's cock, slurping and sucking noises falling from her lips. Sam's hands rested on the back of her head, keeping her rhythm steady. He grew harder and harder in her mouth with her actions. He rolled his head back in pleasure, humming low.
Seeing Sam's dick work itself in and out of her mouth turned you on. You hated admitting it, but it was true. Just the thought of their dicks alone made you wet.
"We told you if you tried to get rid of us, we would have to punish you. So, this is what you deserve. You only have yourself to blame." Colby hissed.
You wanted to roll your eyes, or glare, but they remained on Sam and Jess. You could feel your sex grow slick, your thighs pressing together.
"Oh no sweetheart, you gotta keep your legs apart." Colby grabbed your thighs, forcing them open. You shoved at him with your legs, doing your best to kick him.
"Fine, if you're gonna do that..." He pulled back, snapping his fingers. Suddenly your legs were chained to a bar that separated them from one another. You tried to shimmy your legs, but the bar clicked them further apart.
Colby smirked, "You might want to stop doing that. The more you move your legs, the farther apart they are gonna be. And I have a feeling you don't want to be full spread eagle. Now, I wouldn't be against it-"
"Me neither." Sam chimed in, moaning.
"Him either, but assumingly because of your attitude, you wouldn't like it," he snickered. "Look at me, princess."
You turned your head sharply towards him, your eyes fixating on him. He smiled calmly, looking over your face. "Such a pretty girl."
You cursed at your stomach as it flipped from his words. You hated his affect on you.
"You can say that all you want, Y/N. But you didn't seem to feel that way every. single. time. I've fucked you. That we've fucked you. Do you need a refresher?
Colby placed a single finger in between your breasts, and your mind became flooded with thoughts and memories of your time together with the boys. You could almost feel them inside of you, fucking your cunt roughly and bringing you to the brink of orgasm.
You panted against the gag, feeling pleasure rack your body all over. You shook against the bed, grinding your hips up into the air to relieve some tension, but to no avail.
"Do you need some help there, baby?" Colby uttered, his face close to yours.
Sam's voice strained as he fucked Jess' mouth. "Yeah, Colby. Help her out. Maybe she can come when I do."
"Oh, that sounds fun." Colby waved his hand in a figure eight, and you felt a device press itself on your clit. A low vibration began, and your eyes rolled slightly into your head.
"How's that feel, Y/N? Good? Bad? Do you need more?" The vibrations turned up higher, your thighs wanting to clench around the device. "Or less?"
You whined, trying to push yourself harder onto the vibrator. Colby hummed, watching you squirm.
“Watch Sam fuck Jess' mouth.” He commanded.
Your head turned to Sam, taking in everything. He was holding onto Jess' head much harder now, bucking his hips into her mouth quickly. He looked at you, winked, and fucked her mouth harder. Jess enthusiastically gagged, digging her nails into Sam's thighs.
The vibrator grew to a higher intensity, your legs shaking pleasurably. Your heart was ramping up faster and faster, your body starting to feel like it was just coming close to the edge. Part of was jealous of Jess, because all you wanted was Sam to be fucking you like that. Or Colby. Or both.
"If you honestly think you're gonna come right now, you're wrong." Colby whispered harshly in your ear, turning the vibrator down low.
You grunted, wanting to look at him. You fought against your binds, the bar for your legs separating farther.
"I told you to stop doing that, sweetie. Because now, I can turn this up," the vibrator pressed harder into your clit, going to max speed suddenly. "And now, it can get even closer to you and your aching clit."
Sam's eyes met yours, "Baby girl, I'm sorry he's so mean. I swear when I'm done with Jess, I'll make sure to treat you right."
"Remember Y/N, he's the weird one. Don't trust him." Colby taunted, turning the vibrator down again.
"Fuck, I'm getting close. You have such a good mouth, Jess." Sam commented hungrily.
Colby gasped, "How about this, Y/N? Let's play a game. I'll let you come if you admit how jealous you are of Jess."
"Are you jealous, plaything?" Sam cooed mockingly, still fucking Jess' mouth.
Colby turned your head to him, holding your chin in his hand. "Oh, very. Let's see if she'll admit it."
He tore the gag away, a loud breath immediately leaving your lips. "The floor is yours, princess."
You seethed, "Fuck. You."
Aww, she's just playing shy now. Why don't we see how she really feels?" Colby cranked the vibrator up to the max setting, the buzzing loud in your ears.
You whimpered helplessly, thrusting your hips against the toy. You couldn't help it; your clit was throbbing and your mind was fuzzy from watching Sam fuck another girl's mouth. And all you wanted was for one of them to touch you.
This was not how you thought this night would go.
Colby pressed his body closer to yours. You could feel the heat of him rolling off onto you. "Just say how you truly feel, and I'll make sure you come. Speak your mind."
"I'm getting real close-" Sam's hips sped up, his body glistening with sweat. "Fuuuuck! So you better make it quick, slut."
"Come on, Y/N. Tell us the truth. Say you're jealous. Say you want Sam to fuck your mouth like that. Do it!" Colby ordered.
You held your tongue defiantly, whining as it felt like the vibrator grew stronger and stronger against your dripping sex.
He cocked his head to the side, "You're really not gonna speak? Okay, then. Maybe we really have to pull it out of you."
Hands and fingers began touching you all over, caressing your body in the most sensitive places. You rutted against the vibrator, your body having a mind of it's own. You moaned loudly, surprised by the pleasure.
"That's it baby, I know you're getting close. Just say you want to be here, with my cock in your mouth, and you'll get to come." Sam growled, thrusting faster and faster.
You stuttered, your mouth barely able to form words, "F-Fuck, fine. I want your cock in my mouth."
"And what else, princess?" Colby egged on.
"I-I'm jealous of Jess. Please let me come and please fuck my mouth." You whimpered, biting your lip.
"God, your pleas are so pretty. Fuck, I'm gonna come!" Sam bucked his hips hastily, slamming repeatedly into Jess' mouth. She choked and gagged on his dick, taking it effortlessly. He came down her throat, letting out a breathy groan as he did. He slowed his hips, still holding her head in place.
"Do you wanna come, Y/N?" Colby whispered.
You panted, moving your hips faster against the toy. "Yes! Please!"
"I'm happy you're in a better mood now." Colby smiled, then his face dropped. "But no."
The vibration and hands disappeared, leaving your body trembling, "W-What?"
"No. You don't get to come. You have to do much better than that." He snapped his fingers, the binds holding you down disappearing. "Take your clothes off, get on your knees, and masturbate in front of us."
Your body followed Colby's words, dropping down hard. You ripped your clothes off your body desperately. The cool air hit your warm skin, causing your nipples to harden and your whole body to grow chills. Your fingers found your swollen clit, rubbing intensely. You stifled a cried, anger filling your veins as you looked up at Sam and Colby.
"You've done your job, Jess. You can go."
Jess nodded, slowly walking out of the room with tear stained cheeks and cum drooling out of her mouth.
You snarled at them, somehow able to speak while pleasuring yourself. "How dare you do that to her! You guys are fucking sick."
"First off, what the hell did you expect from a demon and a vampire? We're depraved. Sue us." Sam rolled his eyes, annoyed. "And secondly, she wasn't even real."
You narrowed your eyes, your breath quickening. "What? H-How?"
"Magic. It's Halloween baby." Sam chuckled, jumping towards you, "Boo!"
"Jess was really here at one point, but she left a long time ago. Hell, once she gave you the book, she was done. So, the rest has just been in your head." Colby explained.
Sam added proudly, "Made up by us, of course."
"Speaking of the book, let me just pull it back out." Colby flipped through it, skimming over the pages lazily. He sighed, "It sucks I can't read Latin."
Sam scoffed, "Aren't you a demon? Isn't that what you guys do?"
"You know, that is incredibly rude to say. How stereotypical of you to think that, Samuel." Colby frowned disappointedly, "I expected more from you."
"Sorry. I'll do better next time." Sam apologized.
You groaned huskily, trying to stop yourself from masturbating. But your hands kept moving. "Don't you guys get sick of hearing your own voice?!"
Sam shook his head. "No. Not really."
"Oh I'm sorry, princess." Colby's eyes turned black as he lowered himself to your face. His voice thundered off the walls of the room, "Did you expect us to be fucking nice when you got this book to fucking kill us?! You're lucky all we're doing is making you edge. There are lot worse things I could fucking do to you, but this is me playing nice."
Sam gaped, "That gave me chills."
"Shut up, Sam." You jeered.
Sam's eyes turned red, glaring at you. He yanked the book from Colby's hands, flipping open to a page, and tearing it out of the book.
Your voice croaked, "W-What are you doing?!"
"Punishing you. I don't know if that spell was important, but let's hope for your sake it wasn't." Sam retorted.
"Please, don't! I'm sorry! Fuuuck. I'll be a good girl." You whined helplessly.
He snapped, "I'm sure you will. Since that's the only way you're gonna come."
You suddenly felt a vibrator press against your cunt again. A desperate wail ripped through you, sweat dripping down your back as your body grew hotter and hotter.
Colby cupped your face, making you look up at him and Sam. "Tell us the truth, Y/N. How did watching Sam fuck Jess make you feel?"
You felt your mouth speak, but you had no choice on what you were saying. The truth spilled out of you. "I-I hated it. Oh my God, I hated it! I wished it was me."
"And what about now? What do you want?" Sam asked teasingly.
You bounced on the vibrator, pushing yourself against it harder. "I want to come! I want you to fuck me! Please!! Fuck, please please. I just need to come so badly."
Colby leaned in, "Who do you belong to?"
"You!" You exclaimed.
Sam repeated, "Who do you belong to?"
"Y-You!" You looked at him, pleading.
"That's it baby. Get right to the edge, I know. I know you wanna come. Do it for me. Get right there, get right there!" Colby commanded, nodding as you did what you were told.
Your fingers rubbed faster and faster, the vibrator matching your speed. You panted and whimpered, feeling yourself get right to the edge. You knew any second now you were going to come. All you could think about was coming and having Sam and Colby fuck you.
Colby smiled, "Stop touching yourself."
Your hands dropped to your sides, the vibrator disappearing. Your eyes welled up, your body still shaking with ecstasy, ready to fall over the edge at any second. A strangled cry heaved in your chest, your eyes boring into Sam and Colby's.
"Don't look so sad, baby girl. We would never leave you unsatisfied." Sam rubbed your hair softly for a moment, "Get on the bed for us."
"Lay on your back. Keep your legs and head off the bed." Colby instructed.
You did as you were told, stumbling awkwardly to the bed again. You laid down, allowing your legs to dangle off one side and your head on the other. Colby was suddenly at your feet, naked and spreading your legs wide. You felt the bar back again, keeping your legs locked and apart. He took the bar and put it around his neck, keeping your legs up. Your feet rested on his shoulder as he gazed down at your soaked pussy.
"It pains me to torture you like this, princess. Do you know how hard you've made me?" He groaned, stroking himself, "My cock has just been dying to bury itself inside you. Exactly where it belongs."
"Hi, toy. You ready for me to use your throat? That's what you wanted, right?" Sam appeared above you, his shaft dangling just above your mouth.
You nodded, unable to form words with how horny you were.
They both filled you up at the same time, not even giving you a warning. They groaned in unison, your moans muffled by Sam's cock deep within your throat. They stilled their hips, pushing all the way to the hilt until they couldn't no more.
Colby sighed happily, "The best days of my life are when I'm inside of you, Y/N. Your cunt is like heaven."
"I don't know which one is better, her mouth or her pussy. But either way, I love them both." Sam keened.
Colby chuckled darkly, "That's all you are to us, you know. Just two holes. For us to use."
"What did she say we had? A free use situationship? That sounds about right." Sam laughed.
"And you wouldn't want it any other way. You love being used. You love how we take whatever we want from you." Their hips were matching each other in tandem, thrusting into you at a slow pace.
Sam continued, shooting back. "You were literally on the floor, begging us to let you come. And now your cunt and mouth are filled with our cocks. What a fucking slut.
Colby gasped breathlessly, "Fuck, you tightened around me when he said that. Is that what you are, princess? A slut?"
Sam mocked, tsking. "I thought you wanted to be a good girl."
"Good girls don't get used like this. Good girls don't try to get rid of their fuck buddies." Colby cursed.
"Good girls don't have fuck buddies. Good girls have boyfriends that love and cherish them." Sam snickered.
"Maybe we do feel that way for you, baby. We just have such." Colby bucked his hips into your hard once, "a funny." Twice. "way." Thrice. "of showing it."
"We do love you baby girl. We care about you so much. Which is why you can't be with anyone else. Who else is gonna treat you this good?" Sam moved his cock a bit deeper, making you choke.
"Exactly. Who else is gonna make you come like this?" Colby breathed, smirking.
Suddenly an orgasm rocked through you. You gagged on Sam's cock, unable to stop yourself from thrust back and forth on their cocks. You bucked wantonly, gripping the bed sheet as your legs shook against Colby.
Sam was in awe, "There's our plaything! God, having you choke on my cock makes me wanna come again."
Colby smiled lazily, "She's been so good for us. How about you give us another orgasm baby?"
Another orgasm hit you just as the last one started to fade. You shuttered against Colby's shaft, shaking intensely. You whined around Sam, white knuckling the bed.
"There you go. I know how badly you wanted to come, princess. You squeezed my cock so tightly then. You just want to milk me dry, don't you?" Colby spoke in a needy tone.
Sam buried himself in your throat, "How about another, just because?"
Once more, you erupted in euphoria. Your thighs trembled and your eyes blurred with tears as you cried out in pain and pleasure. Your mind went blank, seeing stars as you rode out your high.
The boys laughed, still thrusting into you, but now a bit faster. "Oh Sam, that was mean. She didn't deserve that."
"I thought she said she wanted to come. I'm just granting her wish." Sam sang teasingly.
"That's true. How about... Colby hummed, plunging all the way into your sex, "one more for good measure?"
Your cunt exploded in yet another climax. Your come leaked down your inner thighs, soaking you and the bed. Your back arched and your hands clung onto Sam's hands, needing something to ground you. You could barely think, the pleasure too much for you.
"I think you've had your fun, babe. It's time for us to have ours." Colby spat.
Sam and Colby sped up their thrusts, your body at their whim. Colby drove his sex into yours, the sounds of your wet cunt sending a shiver up your spine. Sam cupped your throat with his hand as he bucked his cock into you. Your jaw had grown slack, allowing him more access to your mouth and throat.
You laid still on the bed, letting the men use you. You felt dazed in the best way. Your body trembled with lust, your skin feeling cool in the hot air of the room. Maybe you were wrong about getting rid of the boys. How could you think of getting rid of them when they were able to make you feel this amazing?
Colby ran his hands up and down your legs, squeezing your thighs tightly. "God baby, I just love how tight you are. Fuck, you are taking my cock so well. You know what? I forgive you for your attitude earlier. Clearly you just needed a good fucking from us."
Sam moaned, "Just needed to be reminded who owns you."
"That's right. You're ours, princess. And we're yours. We'd never want to fuck someone other than you. You're all we want. And we're all you want, yeah?" Colby questioned, his voice hoarse.
You nodded, blinking rapidly from the tears clouding your vision as Sam continued pounding into your throat, gagging you.
Colby's eyes darkened as he glared at you. "Next time though, we won't be nice. You'll really learn the meaning of free use, you understand me?"
Sam grunted huskily, "God, don't tempt me. I would love to use you freely."
Colby leaned forward, uttering, "I told you he was a freak."
"As if you wouldn't too." Sam argued breathlessly. "Are you getting close, sweetie? Do you wanna come again?"
You groaned around Sam's dick, bobbing your head.
Sam gave a smug smile to Colby, picking up his pace. "I think that's a yes."
"Well, you're just gonna have to wait, princess. I want you to come with us." Colby matched his pace, plowing into you.
Sam whined, "I want to come in her pussy this time."
"So do I." Colby halted, "How about I come in her first and you come in her afterwards?"
Sam nodded eagerly. "Sounds amazing. You won't mind, right baby girl?"
You didn't say anything, just kept bouncing and sucking on their cocks. You were so mindless you barely understood them anymore. All you knew is that you wanted their cum inside you soon. That's all you could think about.
Colby cooed, grinning lustfully. "Aww, we mindfucked her. She has nothing going on up there."
"That's perfect. I love a girl so cummed out of her mind she doesn't know how to even speak." Sam growled, smirking.
"She’s basically a sex doll for us. No thoughts, just a set of wet holes for us to use and come in. God, you're so fucking sexy, princess." Colby's hips moved faster, his body shaking yours with each thrust.
Sam kept his cock inside of your mouth, "You getting close, Colby?"
"Fuuuck, yes. Her cunt is gripping my cock. Jesus Christ you feel so fucking good baby." Colby pounded your pussy desperately, his hands gripping your legs.
"That's it, Y/N. Milk his cock. Make him come." Sam bossed.
"I'm gonna fucking breed you, princess. You love when I do that. A-And you're gonna come when I do." Colby sped up his thrusts, jackhammering into you. He picked your hips up off the bed, hitting you even deeper. He shouted passionately, "Fuck I'm right there! F-Fuck! Come for me!"
You shattered, choking out a filthy mewl around Sam's member. Your hips met Colby's with each of his thrusts. He plunged into you a final time, spilling all of his seed deep within you. You felt your cunt fill with his load, throbbing around him intensely. His groans grew quiet, his chest heaving as he caught his breath.
Colby caught his breath, exhaling deeply. "You're such a good girl for us. And now, you're gonna take Sam's come."
He pulled out, your pussy feeling empty and used. But then it was filled up once more, now with Sam. You gasped huskily, your throat sore from his round on it. You glanced down at Sam as he began pounding into you.
Colby rubbed your face sweetly, wiping the drool off of the corners of your mouth. "Open up, princess. I need somewhere to rest my cock until he comes."
You popped your mouth open, taking Colby's semi-hard dick and letting it fill you up. You were used to having something there now, and you were happy to have it be Colby's.
"Do you like tasting yourself on my cock, slut?" Colby commented.
You hummed, agreeing mindlessly. Sam started slamming himself into you, your body shaking with each deep thrust. Your cunt gushed around him, wet from your and Colby's cum.
"Holy shit, you feel amazing baby girl! Fuck I'm getting so close. When I come, you come too!" Sam howled, bucking wildly.
Colby reached over, rubbing your clit in time with Sam's thrusts. "Just one more time, Y/N. Give us everything you got. Be a good girl for us."
Sam's eyes flashed red, his fangs appearing. "God damn - yes! Milk my cock, Y/N. Take every drop of my fucking cum and come with me!"
The ecstasy you felt was unlike anything you every experienced before. Your vision went white, unable to see or hear anything. You rutted up to meet Sam's thrusts, your body moving purely on instinct. You no longer had even an ounce of control over your body. You felt your throat vibrate with gurgled screams and cries. You soaked his dick and sucked on Colby's, your body rag dolling against the bed.
"So good for us. You did so well, angel." Colby murmured.
Sam breathed, staring at you sweetly. "You're so pretty when you come. Our pretty girl. You can rest now"
Your eyes fluttered, your body exhausting beyond repair. You closed your eyes, passing out instantly.
When you finally awoke, your body was sore from your wrists to your ankles. You were back in your room, but you knew that that wasn't a dream. As you sat up in bed, an object on the floor stood out to you.
The book. It was here, in your house. And away from Sam and Colby.
You jumped out of bed, grabbing it. You looked it over, flipping through the pages. The piece that Sam tore out must have been back in as the book was intact.
You nodded to yourself, knowing what you had to do next.
Time to get rid of Sam and Colby.

MIKE MUNROE - Dating Headcanons
UNTIL DAWN || Mike Munroe x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
he’s known not only by the group to be a player, but also by your entire school.
so when he started trying to talk to you a bit more, you were more than prepared to shut. it. down.
there was a sour ending between him and emily soon after hannah and beth’s disappearance, and at this rate, jessica too (she was clearly still hung up over their summer fling).
his confidence surpassed yours and he was relentless. joining you ashley and sam, uninvited and unexpected:
“hey guys, what’re we talking about” the brunette seats himself next to you, purposefully nudging your shoulder. “we were talking about y/n’s next cheer competition” sam sighs, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms as mike slowly starts to put his arm around you, “erm- what is this?” ash points, glaring at your arm, causing you to look down to see his big, tan hands creeping around your shoulder. at an instant, you shrug him off as your face flushes red. this boy was going to be the death of you.
pulling you out of classes with white lies to your teachers:
“yeah, she needs to head to the attendance office” he beams his charming smile towards the teacher then winks at you. “what the fuck do you want?” you query with hands on your hips stepping out of your english lit class. “you.”
notes in your locker. but it as sweet as the action was, it didn’t phase you, you didn’t want to be his next side-piece:
roses are red, violets are blue. flowers mean shit, i want you.
me, you, a couple of beers and my dads garage?
why are you playing so hard to get, we’ve known each other for like forever. you only make me like you more.
eventually you’d received the painfully awkward video message from josh, opening his lodge up on mount blackwood for the winter.
you’d had message after message from the boy, invites and offers to take transport together, it was a little bit sad how hard he was trying, he usually breathes in a girl’s direction and they’re ready to chew his food for him.
so you accepted, you’d known him since you were 5 after all, what’s the harm?
and then it started, all with him asking to hold your hand on the ski lift, insisting his left hand was cold. pathetic but cute.
during this you were spotted by a wild josh, lively and charismatic as ever considering the circumstances, he made sure to let everybody within a 20 mile radius know of his suspicions upon the two of you.
the attention had its positives and negatives. jess didn’t approve, nor did sam. josh, chris and ashley were happy as ever. nobody ever knew what emily was really thinking so you tried your hardest to ignore it, whereas matt was glad mike was busy with anyone but his ex.
“soo… i think it’d be wrong not to ask you out right now.”
you honestly thought, from the deepest most sincere part of your heart, believed your were mike-proof. but through all his little tactics he managed to make you actually like him, romantically.
a lot of girls gave off the wrong impression of mike; man-whore, cheater, horndog. maybe they were the problem because you couldn’t ask for anyone better.
he cooks surprisingly well, though he refuses to wash up, he has some pretty good experience in the kitchen.
he doesn’t mind too much about what you do and where you go, maybe it’s because you’re the same with him, unlike one emily davis, “a human gps with my location on lock and an accusation weapon system activated”
he always smells good. he has gone through at least 4 of his favourite colognes within the past year, which also means you’ve got an easy birthday/Christmas present option.
weirdly enough, he loves going on shopping trips with you. you think he’s pretty useful fashion-wise whereas he always enjoys convincing you into ‘rating your clothes’, aka - watching his girlfriend undress while sitting in silence.
amongst these positives, you can only name one terrible feature with mike. he’s a snorer. not just a little soft breathy snore. it’s a full on mouth open, putting his entire body weight on you, speakers blasting snores. it could also easily be mistaken for a helicopter taking off.
eventually emily warms up to your relationship, managing to see eye to eye with you. you’ll never know what her ulterior motive is but you have enough trust in mike to bat off her ways.

Behind Closed Doors (Part 5)
Tumblr media
Pairing : Boss! Dean Winchester X Assistant! Reader
Word count: 1.4k
Warnings: angst, slight violence (a well deserved punch), language, John and Mary Winchester, not proofread.
I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION TO COPY MY WORK, TRANSLATE IT OR POST IT TO ANY OTHER PLATFORM. REBLOGS ARE APPRECIATED.
Y/n emerged from the women's room and went back to her work space. She knew she looked like a mess even after putting her best efforts to look presentable. With a deep breath she sat back on her desk, thankful Dean was in a meeting. She had zoned out and hadn't realised how much time had passed until a knock on her desk pulled her out of her thoughts. She looked up to see a pair of blue eyes staring at her.
"Earth to Y/n." Cas grinned but his grin faltered the minute he saw her eyes, puffy and red, the sight made him furrow his brows.
"Cas! What're you doing here?" She asked happily getting up from her chair and rounding the desk to greet him with a hug. "I thought you were in France." She said wrapping her arms around his torso. The man didn't hesitate to return the embrace.
"I was, but the event wrapped up early so I came back." He replied pulling away slightly so he could look at her better. "What happened?" He questioned. His gaze fell to her hand where he was expecting to see a ring on her finger but the vacant finger confused him even more. Dean had told him over the phone that he'd proposed and you'd said yes. So why on earth is your finger empty and your eyes red.
Dean stepped out of the elevator after he was done with the meeting and he watched Cas and Y/n talking outside his office. He took in her disheveled appearance and his heart clenched in his chest. She looked so small, and broken, all because of him. He'd promised to never hurt her and that's what he ended up doing. He could tell she'd cried, her puffy and red eyes had given that away.
"Y/n? Where's your ring?" Dean heard Cas ask and his gaze fell to her hand, the sight broke his heart. She'd taken it off. "Didn't Dean propose? He said you said yes." Cas prodded further but she didn't say anything until her gaze fell upon Dean approaching them, not necessarily them, but his office. She watched as he moved past them and reached his office door and that's when she spoke.
"Propose? Cas you've known me since college, I've never been the one they proposed to, I'm the one they 'love' and leave." She sneered and Dean's grip tightened onto the doorknob. He hated hearing her talk about herself like that but shes not even giving him a chance to explain. He felt his anger flaring up and he went inside his office slamming the door behind him.
Cas looked between his two friends feeling completely out of the loop but he felt this was bigger than a petty argument and he's never known Y/n to overreact so if something happened it was big. And most probably Dean's fault. All rationality left his brain when he saw his friend hurt and his best friend being the reason of her tears. He went inside Dean's office, where Dean was pacing back and forth. He grabbed the CEO by his arm and punched him straight in the jaw.
"What the fuck, Cas?" Dean growled holding his jaw.
"What did you do?" Cas glared at his best friend.
"Why do you think I did something?" Dean asked feeling offended his best friend was accusing him.
"Your face says it all so spill, or Lord so help me." Cas threatened. He was gonna beat him to a pulp if he didn't come clean right here, right now. Dean knew Cas was a peaceful person and if he's threatening to choose violence, he will resort to it. He's already lost his fiancée, he doesn't want to lose his best friend too. The two men sat on the chairs placed on the either side of Dean’s desk.
"I went to see mom and dad a week ago." He started.
Dean walked into his childhood house, he was greeted by smiling faces of John, Mary and Sam. It brought a smile to his face as well. Dean teased Sam about how Jess’ not here since they’re always attached to the hip. Mary cleared her throat before speaking,
“There’s something I need to tell you. I wasn’t sure how you’d react so I thought it’d be better if it’s just us.” That made Dean tense up. He didn’t like the way this conversation started.
“Is everything okay?” Dean asked looking back and forth between his parents.
“On the surface yeah.” Mary replied. “Dean you’re thirty. You’re not getting any younger and I want you to settle down.” She said getting straight to the point.
“Okay..” Dean trailed off, this isn’t as bad as he thought it would be. He just has to tell them about Y/n and their engagement now.
“And the way you’ve been immersed in work, I don’t see you getting settled anytime soon so we’ve decided to arrange with you someone.” Mary said and Dean’s jaw dropped to the floor. Did his family really think he’s that much of a workaholic that he can’t find a partner for himself? That’s bullshit.
“Excuse me?” Dean growled standing up from his seat.
“She’s the niece of your dad’s old friend. Her name’s Rachel.” Mary said with a finality in her voice.
“Rachel? The one I went to school with? What the fuck is wrong with you all?” Dean yelled.
“She likes you.” Mary added, trying to convince her son.
“I don’t give a fuck. You have no right to meddle in my life.” Dean growled. John who had been quiet all this time finally spoke.
“Dean, don’t talk to your mother like that.” His voice boomed.
“And you’re not hearing what she’s saying?” Dean retorted.
“Dean calm down.” Sam said setting a hand on his brother’s shoulder which the older brother shrugged off.
“Dean this arrangement is for the benefit of the company as well. And your mother wants you to settle down. What’s so wrong in that?” John exclaimed loudly.
“My company is doing great without anyone’s support and what’s wrong with this arrangement is that I have someone in my life and I won’t marry anyone else besides her.” Dean declared.
“Watch your tone, boy. That company is mine, need I remind you I’m still the owner of that company. And you’re the CEO because I made you.” John asserted making Dean scoff.
“You made me CEO because i worked hard for it. You didn’t just give it to me, I earned it.” Dean sneered back at his father.
“The decision has been made. You either marry Rachel or you lose the title of CEO.” John bellowed and the room fell silent. The only sound that could be heard was Dean’s harsh breathing. Without another word Dean left his parent’s house, slamming the door on his way out.
“Dude that’s fucked up.” Cas muttered as Dean finished his story.
“Yeah tell me about it.” Dean rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair.
“Did you tell her?” Castiel asked gesturing outside the door. Dean shook his head staring at the ceiling. “What’re you gonna do now?
“I don’t know, Cas. I love her to death. I don’t want anyone else. But I’ve worked too hard for where I am. It’s so fucking complicated. I don’t even know what to tell her.” He sighed rubbing his face. “How am I going to tell her that I can’t choose between her and my work?”
“You’ve worked hard for this, Dean. Everyone knows that.” Castiel said softly. He felt dejected he couldn’t help his friend. “And I know Y/n. She wouldn’t want you to give it up.” He added.
“That’s also something which scares me. She’d tell me to choose this.” Dean said gesturing to his office. “She’d put me first and I can’t even imagine to bear the look on her face when she does it.” Dean could feel tears springing in his eyes, just at the thought of loosing her for good. “I thought I’d deal with this mess without her knowing about it. But then Rachel showed up.”
“Dean.” Cas said seriously that made Dean look at him. “You have to tell her. She’s falling down in a deep hole of self doubt.” Dean nodded agreeing with Cas. He knows its going to be hard, but he has to go through with it.

requested by @prentissluvr | basic but completely adorable is sam trying to do his little girl's hair with his big hands and she's so small and he's like argh why is this so difficult T_T but he's trying so hard and he's so concentrated until she gets squirmy and he has to give up and do pigtails before she gets annoyed LOL
tysm for the request sweetheart this was SO soft to write i love your brain so so much <3 | juno verse, single dad sam winchester x fem!reader, 1.2k, fluff, pining, not proof read, requests only open for juno fics
“Like Fawn, daddy.” Juno told him, sat with her legs crossed on the bathroom counter, looking up at him through the mirror as she messed with the barbie she had held in her hands.
“Like who?” Sam asked, frowning in confusion as he brushed through her hair as gently as he could. Since she’d woken up that morning — and in turn woke him up by climbing into his bed and tugging on his hair — she’d insisted that she needed to look pretty for when Y/N visited. She was already dressed in one of her pretty dresses, a puffy blue thing covered in flowers. It was a little big for her, he’d had to roll up the sleeves, but there was no convincing her to wait until she’d had a growth spurt to wear it. On top of the dress, she wanted her hair to look pretty, too.
It was getting a little long, Sam knew that. They’d been living paycheck to paycheck for the past few weeks, he hadn’t had the money or the time to go and get it cut, and he was not going to attempt to do it himself.
“Fawn,” she scowled at him through the mirror like he was stupid. “Fairy. She likes Tink.”
Ah, the fairies. A week ago she’d decided that she was too big for princess and she liked fairies instead. The idea of her getting too big for anything made his chest squeeze uncomfortably with the idea that his baby was getting older. He could remember when she could fit comfortably in the palm of one hand.
“I thought you wanted a braid, Junebug.”
“Mhm.”
“Fawn has a braid?”
“Yes.” She scowled again and he almost laughed at how cranky she got sometimes.
“Sorry, baby, I forgot,” he leaned down and kissed the top of her head. “You want one or two?”
She held up two fingers before she went back to playing with her barbie.
Sam honestly thought it would be easy. He could kind of remember how Jess used to braid hers — though he tried not to think of her much anymore — and since Juno had less hair it seemed easier.
It took him five minutes to even part her hair as she kept moving around, and by the time he had a section in his hands strands kept slipping out of his fingers. His hands felt clunky, eyebrows scrunched in concentration as he tried to braid the three strands.
“Daddy,” she’d started squirming, and he bit his tongue to stop himself from complaining when she moved her head and he dropped one of the strands, the entire braid falling loose. “Done?”
He let out a breath through his nose. It wasn’t her fault, he usually just put her hair in a ponytail and tied a bow around it. “Not done, sit still please.”
He combed out the braid with his fingers and tried again, honestly a little irritated at how difficult it was.
She moved again and he tried to lean forwards as she did so not to pull her hair, but just ended up braiding the wrong strand of hair through.
“Juno, please,” he breathed out, letting go of her hair to shift her back in place on the counter. “You need to stop moving sweetheart.”
“Wanna play.” She whined, and when he glanced up at the time he sighed. He wanted to clean up a little and get some food going for when Y/N got there, and time was getting a little tight.
“Okay, alright Junie,” he leaned down and kissed her head, gave her sides a gentle squeeze as he looked back at her in the mirror. “Why don’t I just do some pigtails, hm?” She pouted and his heart aches. “It’s quick, and you can go play until lunch, okay?”
She nodded, and he kissed her head again with an apology before he brushed her hair and tied them into pigtails, securing two blue bows into her hair in the hopes that she’d find it just as pretty. It was a win when it earned him a sloppy kiss on the cheek as he lifted her up from the counter to get her down.
One of the bows was missing by the time Y/N got there.
She’d used the spare key to get in — she’d been doing that more recently, and he tried not to think about how it made his heart thump a little harder — and he’d been at the stove stirring the macaroni he was cooking, so he didn’t have time to stop Juno from running straight into her legs as she walked in.
“Hey princess!” Her voice was cheery despite almost getting knocked off of her feet, and Sam could hear his daughter giggling down the hall as he made sure the water wouldn’t bubble over before stepping out of the kitchen and into the hall. She had Juno on her hip, not even out of her coat yet, little arms tight around her neck with a tight hug. The sight made his heart swell, a dopey little smile on his face as he watched them for a moment.
“Are you all dressed up for me, Junie?” She cooed, hugged her to her chest, and beamed at Sam when she looked up and met his eyes.
His poor heart couldn’t take much more.
“Yes, s’my pretty dress,” Juno informed, chubby cheeks and a toothy smile. “Daddy did my hair wrong.”
He rolled his eyes. “Tattle-tale.” He scoffed, walking over to take his daughter into his own arms so Y/N could shrug her coat off. Juno didn’t seem to mind, just didn’t take her eyes off of the other.
“He did? Oh no,” she hung her coat up on the hook, and was smiling in far too much entertainment when she turned back around and faced them. “What did he do wrong? Is it the missing bow?”
“Want Fawn hair.”
Sam mouthed braids over the top of her head at her look of confusion.
“Ah, I see,” she reached out and gently combed her fingers through the ends of Juno’s pigtails. “Well, do you wanna know a secret, Junie?”
Juno nodded enthusiastically, and Sam almost dropped her when she leaned forwards fast to hear her.
“I know how to do braids,” she told her as if it was a secret, leaned down a little to be at her level. “Maybe you could go and get me your hairbrush and some pretty bows and I can do them for you, hm?”
“Okay!” Juno immediately started squirming and Sam laughed as he put her down, watched her run down the hall and into her bedroom, before he turned back to face Y/N.
“Thanks,” he breathed out a little laugh, a hand pushing through his hair. “Wasn’t gonna hear the end of that one.”
She giggled, smiled so pretty he thought his heart might give out. “Figured as much,” she stepped forwards and leaned up to press a kiss to his cheek, and he was definitely on the road towards a heart attack. “Maybe after lunch I could teach you how to do it? If she sits still for long enough.”
Sam practically grinned as he nodded. “Yeah, thanks.”
Oh he was so in danger.

𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫
paring: Sam Golbach x fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You and Sam have been together for 7 months, but you slowly come to realization that your just shadow of someone else..
Warnings: very sad😢, no happy ending
word count: 1k
hii guys!! Wait, don’t hate me, ik I said I would rewrite something but…. be happy! I’m write the pt 2 to 4 page letter, and pt 3 to i hate you write.
“Did I cross the line?”
(∘⁼̴⃙̀˘︷˘⁼̴⃙́∘)
You have been with Sam for 7 months and it's been the best time of your life. You got together in August of last year. He always took you on dates, cuddled, and he's always telling you how much he loves you. Seriously, everyday, every minute, every second. As if he's trying to say something beyond that. But it never really bothered you, all you needed was love and affection from him.
Flashback
You were about to go out with Kat to a party hosted by your good friend Jess, it was her birthday and she said you could bring a plus one.
“Kitty Kat, are you ready?” you shout from down the hall. “Almost, let me touch up my make-up really quick.”
“Hey, y/n. Have you got a text from Sam lately? It seems like he's been getting distant..” Kat says as she walks into your room. “I haven't, maybe it's just work, you know doing all that traveling.” you respond, trying not to let her mind go to conclusions. “You always read my mind y/n.”
She was your girl, you showed her the world
People often mistaken you and Kat as twins, you dressed, looked, and acted eerily similar. “Yea Kat, that's why I'm your twin.” You chuckle. She cracks a smile and looks at you, trying to convince you that she believes you.
She was crying on my shoulder, all I could do was hold her
Kat was currently in your arms sobbing outside of the birthday girl’s house. She had just caught Sam, with Jess. Not dancing as a birthday celebration, grinding and kissing each other. “They weren't drunk y/n! I know how Sam looks when he's drunk!” she choked out with her tears.
“Kitty Kat…” Your heart ached for her. “Are your sure it was him?” you ask. “Yes, it was him! With his blond hair and blue eyes you wouldn't miss it.” She says with no signs of her stopping anytime soon. “8 years y/n…. 8 years down the drain..”
Only made us closer, until July
You and Kat were no longer friends, after you got with Sam. He ended up pursuing you to go on a date with him, which turned into a couple dates, then all the sudden you were dating.
“Sam?” you appear around the corner of his room. “Yes kitty?” he says, looking away from his computer to get a view of your face. “I have a question. Don't you ever feel bad?” you answer without giving him a chance to say anything. He looked dumbfounded as he said “What about?” “You know, for dating me?” You say, barely below a whisper. “Why would I feel like that?” he talks as he inches closer to you. “Kat was my best friend Sam.”
“Y/n, I love you. Kat is the past, for me and you. I would be better if you just moved on and forgot about it, stay focused on me and your life.” Sam says looking in your eyes with a certain look, but not a look of empathy. “I know that you love me, you don't need to remind me.”
I should put it all behind me, shouldn't I?
“Hi Colby! Have you seen Sam? He hasn't been answering my calls.” you ask. “He just left, and y/n, i've been meaning to talk to you.” he says with a look of concern. You sit down with a confused look on your face, signaling him to continue. ‘Look, there's no easy way to say this but.. Sam isn't over Kat. After she caught him and broke up with him, he's been depressed ever since. I don't think he will ever get over that anytime soon at the rate this is going. What I'm trying to say is, I think you're just a distraction. I'm so sorry y/n.”
Well good things don't last, and time moves so fast
It all made sense now. How he always told you he loved you. You always knew you recognized the places he took for dates, it was always the places that he took Kat to. The way you looked, talked, and acted like Kat. No wonder why he would go after you, Even the way he called you kitty. You couldn't believe what you did.
I’d never ask who is better
“Sam! Are you kidding me?” You screamed at him. Your once soft and loving eyes were now replaced with fiery and dead ones. “I don't know what you're talking about y/n! Colby lied to you, I can't believe you trust him over me!” Here we go again, with the gaslighting.
“Sam! Why didn't you tell me?” you say, breaking down and sliding your back against the door. Now you know how she felt, left in despair as she finally learned the truth. “Fine y/n, do you really wanna know? Yes, I still miss Kat! I miss her so much! You're just her shadow, someone I needed to distract me. You will never be like her!” he concluded. “you know what..” you mumble as you leave the room, slamming the door.
You say no one knows you so well, but every time you touch me, I just wonder how she felt
Now I wonder. Did he see her, in the back of his mind. In my eyes?
You slowly come to realize, you lost 2 important people in your life. Due to your selfish ways, you lost your best friend and a good friend because you let him gaslight you into distancing yourself away from her. He wanted her to be jealous that you was with him, that's all he wanted. He never loved you, he loved the way you were like the person he wanted the most out of everything.
I know you didn't mean to hurt me, so I kept it to myself

♕ No Matter What - Part 6 | Lena Luthor ♕
Tumblr media
Pairing: Lena Luthor x reader
Warnings: none
Summary: It seems as though you’re not the only one who’d like to leave the past in the past.
Previous Part | Next Part | Masterlist
________________________________________________
“Here you go, Jess,” I say, setting a cup on her table.
She looks up with a rare smile and takes it. “Thank you, Y/N.”
I nod in acknowledgment and take a sip of my own coffee. “So, what’s the boss up to?” I ask.
Jess checks her laptop. “Uh… I’m not so sure. She doesn’t have a meeting until 3, so I don’t know what she’s doing right now. I heard her on the phone while you were on your coffee run though.”
“So you think I can go in?” I gesture in the direction of Lena’s door.
Jess shrugs.
I take that as a yes and knock on the shiny white door before entering after a beat of silence.
“Ms. Luthor?” I frown. She’s not at her desk or on her couch. I step further into the office and look around the corner but she’s not at her bar either. “Ms. Lu—“
My words die in my throat when I see her hunched over on the balcony outside, her back turned to me. I quickly set my cup on her desk and go outside.
“Ms. Luthor?” I ask tentatively, a cool breeze hitting my face.
She stiffens for a second before turning around and that’s when I see it. The running mascara, her bloodshot eyes, and the dejected look on her face.
My stomach drops and I take a step forward. “What’s wrong? Are you alright? Are you hurt?”
Lena just shakes her head, biting her lip to prevent a sob from escaping.
I take another step forward and tentatively reach for her. “What is it? Talk to me.”
Lena’s chin wobbles and more tears spring to her eyes, making my concern grow. She parts her lips to say something, but only a whimper escapes.
She rushes forward in the blink of an eye and throws her arms around my shoulders, burying her face in the crook of my neck.
Stunned, I hesitated to return the embrace, but then her body shakes with a sob and I can’t help but pull her closer.
“Hey, hey, hey…” I whisper against her temple. “It’s going to be alright. Whatever it is, it’ll be fine. I’m here. I’m right here.”
Lena claws at my clothes and breathes shakily. Her tears seep into the collar of my shirt, but I don’t mind. I just hold her close and let her feel what she’s feeling.
“My brother…” she whispers against my skin, her voice breaking with emotion. “He–“ I hold my breath in anticipation–“He escaped from prison.”
Well, shit.
“How?” I ask, trying to wrap my head around this new information.
Lena shrugs and lets out a strangled breath. “I don’t know, but he just called and– “ anther sob shakes her body and her grip on me tightens– “he said see you soon, sis before hanging up.”
An unmeasurable amount of anger floods through me and I grind my teeth to stop myself from storming off and dealing with that bald, good-for-nothing son of a bitch myself. Lena’s been through enough and now, thinking she was finally free of him, he comes crashing back into her life to do God knows what.
“I’m scared, Y/N,” Lena whimpers against my neck and it stokes my anger even more.
She’s one of the most amazing people I know. She’s smart, funny, and kind, and she doesn’t deserve all this shit life is giving her.
“Ms. Luthor.” I pause. The last thing she needs right now is a reminder that she’s a Luthor. So, I try something I haven’t done before. “Lena,” I say hesitantly, running my hands over her back.
Her breath hitches but nothing else happens, so I continue. “Lena, listen to me. I swear that as long as I’m around, your brother will not get anywhere near you. You hear me? I won’t let that happen. As long as I’m around, you’re safe. I promise. ”
Lena pulls back to meet my eyes while her arms stay wrapped around my shoulders. “You promise?” She sniffles and searches my face for any trace of a lie.
“No matter what,” I say, surprising myself in the process. I’ve never said that to anyone except Sam and maybe Ruby once or twice.
Lena’s green eyes flicker back and forth between mine before dropping to my lips for a split second. It’s so quick, I almost think I imagined it, but then she does it again.
My stomach flips at the action and I can’t help but mirror it. Lena seems to notice because curiosity and some hesitation flits across her face. Her eyebrows furrow ever so slightly, but in the end she doesn’t act on her impulse.
Instead she exhales and closes her eyes, letting her forehead rest against my collarbone. “Thank you…”
I rub her back again and only pull back when she loosens her grip on me. She smiles sadly and I mirror it, using my thumb to wipe away the rest of her tears.
“Okay?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
She nods and runs her hands over her blouse to smooth it down. “Okay.”
After Lena’s breakdown I stayed in her office with her while she worked. Not only to keep her company but also to keep an eye on her and make sure she’s fine.
Sam stopped by a couple of times to ask Lena something about a business deal and gave me a knowing look every time she left.
Now I’m just getting out of the shower after a late night gym session. The whole time I was there, going to town on the punching bag, I pictured Lex’s face in front of me. That smug, ghoulish, punch able face. I will keep my promise to Lena. He will not touch even a single hair on her head.
I dry myself off and put on some sweatpants and a hoodie, going to the kitchen to make myself a protein shake. It’s the middle of the night and I already had dinner, but after the workout I just put myself through I’m starving.
I drink it in a couple of big gulps and place the empty bottle in the dishwasher before going to bed. I know I won’t be getting much sleep because my mind is working overtime right now, but I have to at least try to get some shut eye.
I turn off all the lights and shut the open window, slipping under the covers of my bed with a sigh.
How did Lex manage to escape from prison? I thought something like that was only possible in books or movies. Well, looks like I thought wrong.
I go over the extra security measures we put in place for Lena, ranging from several more cameras around her buildings to extra guards stationed outside her apartment building.
The chances of anyone getting past all of that are basically zero. But then again, the chances of escaping from prison nowadays are also basically zero and Lex Luthor has managed to do exactly that.
I toss and turn as sleep continues to elude me, until my phone lights up on the nightstand. I sit up and grab it, not knowing what to expect.
It’s Lena.
My eyes widen and I quickly accept the call.
Did something happen? Is she hurt? Is it Lex? Did he manage to get to her?
“Lena, are you alright?” I blurt out, foregoing any pleasantries.
“I— Yeah, I’m alright…” The reply is quiet and soft. I exhale, relieved, and sit up so I can lean back against the headboard.
“Then what is it?” I ask gently.
There’s a pause at the other end of the line and I take my phone away from my ear to make sure the call hasn’t disconnected.
“I can’t sleep,” Lena admits with a sniffle. “And I’m scared, Y/N. I’m so scared.”
The thought of her being alone in her dark apartment, scared and crying has me getting out of bed immediately. I turn on the light and put Lena on speaker while I grab an empty duffel bag from under the bed.
“I know, I know. Just hang on. ” I shove a change of clothes and some toiletries into the bag. “I’m on my way.”
“W-What? No, you don’t have to do that, Y/N.” Lena tries to reason, but I’m not having it.
I shake my head even though she can’t see me and zip up the bag. I sling it over my shoulder and slip on my shoes by the door, leaving the apartment to hail down a cab outside “Nonsense. I told you I’d be there whenever you need me.”
“I…Okay.” Lena gives in with another sniffle. “Thank you.”
“Of course,” I say. “Now, do you want to stay on the phone with me, or is it okay if I hang up?”
“No, no, it’s alright,” Lena denies and I assure her once more that I’ll be there in no time before hanging up to tell the cab driver where to go.
When I get to the apartment building the security guard by the door nods in acknowledgment and lets me inside without a word.
I ride the elevator up to the top floor and get out, using my keycard to open the door to the familiar apartment.
“Lena?” I call out into the dark. “Where are you?”
A lamp turns on to my right and if it weren’t for my concern I’d have been startled.
Lena’s sitting on the couch with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Her face is makeup-free and she’s wearing a matching set of blue striped pajamas.
“Hey,” I say softly, taking off my shoes before crossing the room.
Lena’s vulnerable and bloodshot eyes meet mine and she mumbles a tired, “Hi.”
My insides melt and I stop in front of the couch with open arms. Lena gets up immediately and sinks into my embrace. I sigh and rest my chin on the top of her head.
“Thank you for coming,” she says again my chest.
I squeeze her in my arms and guide the two of us to sit down on the couch without breaking the hug. “Always. Now, how about we watch a movie?” I ask.
Lena wiggles around and shifts her blanket so it’s covering both our legs before settling back into my side. “Yes, please. Can we watch Titanic?”
I chuckle and grab the remote, turning on the TV to find the movie. “Sure.”
Once I’ve found it and hit play, I settle back into the couch and start drawing shapes onto Lena’s back. She seems to like it because she lets out a content sigh and rests her head on my shoulder.
We watch the movie in silence for quite some time before I look down to see how Lena’s doing. That’s when I notice that her eyes are closed and her breathing has shallowed. She’s asleep.
A small smile makes its way onto my face and I turn down the TV’s volume to make sure she doesn’t wake up. Then, my mind finally at peace now that Lena is okay, I close my own eyes and let sleep overcome me.
The sound of my phone buzzing wakes me up. I blink repeatedly and go to sit up to take it from the coffee table but then I remember where I am and who’s soundly asleep on my chest.
Her dark hair is everywhere, some stands of it are even on my face which I gently brush away as I stretch to get my phone without getting up.
Harper.
I freeze. We haven’t spoken since my dad kicked me out.
What could she possibly want now? Blame me some more for her fiancé’s death? My baby brother’s death?
I send the call to voicemail and put my phone back down with a growing lump in the back of my throat.
Stop, this is not the time to cry.
I take a shuddering breath and squeeze my eyes shut. My hand instinctively reaches up to stroke Lena’s back and I do my best to push my emotions down.
It doesn’t work as well as I hoped it would though because a few moments later, Lena stirs. She takes a deep breath and opens her eyes, adjusting to the brightness for a moment. Then, in no hurry to get away from me, she places her hand on my chest and lifts her head.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” she asks quietly when she notices my watery eyes and my shaky breathing.
I quickly use the hand that’s not on her back to wipe at my eyes. I clear my throat and smile as best as I can as I lie and say, “Nothing, sorry. Just a bad dream.”
Lena furrows her eyebrows, obviously not believing what I just said. Her eyes dart between mine as if she’s trying to find an honest explanation in them, but it seems she comes up short because she sighs and averts her gaze.
She sits up, much to my dismay, and runs her hand through her. “What time is it? We have to be at the office at ten. I have an interview schedule with Kara about my brother’s untimely prison break.”
She seems exhausted if the bitterness in her voice is anything to go by. I know it’s not because of Kara though. She’s honestly one of the sweetest people I know, and she’s an even better reporter.
I check my phone for the time, only for it to start buzzing again right as I pick it up. This time no one’s calling though. It’s a reminder I set after my meltdown at Sam’s.
All it says is Noah with a flower bouquet emoji next to it because I want to put flowers on his grave the day before the actual anniversary of his death, so I don’t run the chance of crossing paths with my parents or Harper.
I hastily try to swipe it away because I don’t want Lena to see, but when I look up her eyes are glued to my phone. Then, they snap up to meet my own and the hurt in her eyes makes my insides twist.
“Who’s Noah?” she asks and the fact that she pulls away completely and stands up with betrayal written all over her face tells me that she’s completely misreading this situation.
Shit. This is exactly what I didn’t want to happen.

Warnings: Just your a-typical sammy sulking and angst.
MINORS DNI
A/N: Just a sad lil one for the time being <3
Word Count: 1.2k
Summary: Sam's trying to move on after jess, but what if he isnt 100% sure?
Tumblr media
She climbs out the Impala and slams the door the behind her. Earning a yelp from Dean in protest, but she doesn’t listen to the man. Begrudgingly ignoring the amount of pain she was in she storms into the motels rental office. She slams down her credit card on the counter of the rental office and the clerk sends her an annoyed glare. Shaking her head she asks for a basic room. The clerk nods at her request, swipes the credit card, and hands her the key.
“Room 42,” the clerk spats out.
She thanks the clerk under her breath and begins to make her way to the door of the office as the boys enter.
“Did you get a room for us?” Dean asks.
She shakes her head no at his question and pushes past them. As she’s exiting the door, she could hear a distinct scoff leave Sam which fuels the angry lit fire of her stomach higher. This man had some damn nerve.
She makes her way to her single bed room. Slamming the door behind her and throws her duffle bag on to the bed. She stops for a second and takes a deep breath. The adrenaline was starting to wear off and her pain was starting to overcome every sensation. Unzipping the bag, she grabs the bottle of ibuprofen that sat on top. Opening the cap, she takes 3 out and heads towards the small kitchenette. Grabbing a glass from the cabinet, she fills it up with water from the sink and proceeds to take the pain pills.
Putting down the glass in the sink she moves to stretch her shoulders. Hissing at the sharp sensation of pain on her right shoulder. She groans at the thought of having to fix herself up, but a knock on the door pulls her out her thoughts. Hesitant at first, another knock sounds and Sam makes his presence known.
She gulps in frustration and walks to the door. She opens it for Sam, and ignores his greeting as she sits down on the bed facing the bathroom. She pulls her right arm out the sleeve of her shirt exposing the gash on her shoulder for Sam to stitch. Sam sighs behind her. She watches him from the corner of her eye sit down the medical kit beside her and he takes out the necessary tools.
“This is gunna sting,” he whispers. She nods in acknowledgement.
Sam begins to clean the gash with a few alcohol pads. The occasional swipe makes her hiss but it was manageable. Shortly after, Sam starts to stitch the gash close. The two of them sat in silence the entire process, and all she wanted to do was turn around, and punch the man in the face. She was so angry with him for the earlier hunt, and he seemed completely oblivious by his actions as he always does.
Sam finishes up then goes to wash his hands in her bathroom. She slips her arm back into her shirt carefully, then proceeds to packs up Sam’s kit for him as he makes his way back to the main room.
The two of them stand in front of each other not saying anything. She didn’t really know what to say to him. She knew why he did what he did, but it was still frustrating every time he did it.
It was supposed to be a simple Vamp hunt in Ohio. They had tracked a rogue that had a falling out from his pack and was angry killing at his circumstances. They had tracked him down to the abandoned barn he was staying in. She had made herself known to the Vamp as a way to lure him from his hiding spot. She was ready to go in for the kill, when he lunged at her and Sam pushed her to the side. Killing the Vamp himself instead.
Sam sighs, and shakes his head at her. He walks past her and gets ready to leave her room when she speaks up.
“I was ready you know?” She whispers behind him. Earning another sigh from the tall man.
She turns around to face him as he does the same.
“I know, I know you are but I cant stand the thought of loosing you. He could’ve seriously hurt you!” By the end of Sams response, his voice was raised and she never appreciated raised voices during an argument.
“Damn it Sam! You gotta trust me at some point. I’ma fucking seasoned hunter for crying out loud!” She yells, matching his energy.
“I just cant-“ Sam starts to respond before stopping. She groans in annoyance as that was a typical deflecting thing he did.
“You cant what huh?” She spats, crossing her arms over her chest and challenges him.
“I cant loose you like Jess okay!” Sam spats out. Completely taken aback by his response.
“Sam-“ She calls out to him as her arms fall loosely from her chest.
“I cant. I just cant. I already lost one girl I was in love with and I’m trying to love you too but every time we do something stupid all I can think of is the night of the fire and-“
“Trying to love?” She questions him and Sam looks to her panickily.
“Yes. Trying to love.” Sam says and he shoves his hands deep into his pockets in embarrassment by his words.
“What does that even mean?” She asks still trying to connect the dots in her own head.
“I love you. I’ve been in love with you for quite a while now I think and I don’t think I’ve allowed myself to because Jess still sits so deep in me.” Sam whispers. He takes a peak up at her as his gaze was previously on the floor and she could see the tears welling on his lash line.
“Sammy,” she says quietly. She takes a few strides towards him. Keeping a few inches between them to allow him a chance to step back if he wanted to.
His gaze fixates back towards the floor. To counter him, she cuffs his cheek and raises his head to look at her. But he does take that step back.
“I need time-“ Sam starts before taking a deep breath.
“I need time to really figure out if this is love that I’m feeling or just protecting. I don’t want to screw this up again.” Sam finishes.
She nods at his response.
“I understand, but I’ll be here when youre ready. But please, next time we hunt, let me kill the damn thing.” She asks.
Sam lets a low chuckle escape his lips.
“Okay,” he whispers. Sam takes a step towards and places a tight kiss on her forehead. She smiles at the sensation.
“Goodnight.” Sam says looking into her eyes.
She smiles up and whispers goodnight in return. Sam turns to leave her room and she continues to stand by the door, completely baffled by the way things unfolded. It was clear that Sam wanted, or needed her. But she was unsure he if truly loved her. But hey, two out three aint bad.

Sam was panicking.
Hannah and Beth were gone, the latter now looking for her heartbroken sister during a snowstorm. And no one had seen them for the past thirty minutes. Needless to say, everyone was starting to panic. Matt was trying to convince everyone to go looking for the girls while Mike insisted that they had probably not gotten far and calling for them instead. Emily insisted that it had been a joke and Hannah had overreacted while Jess shushed her, trying to listen for her friends. Next to them, Sam was close to simply running after them and Ashley had started crying.
“This was a terrible idea. We need to do something!”
Sam nodded at Ashley. “We need to wake up Josh, his girlfriend and Chris. But especially Josh.”
“You do that and we start looking for them.” Matt said, ruffling his hair. “This was such a fucking terrible idea!”
“You guys go search for them and we wait here in case Hannah comes back.” Jessica nodded, clearly not liking the idea of going into the woods. “Someone has to stay here in case they come back.”
Mike shook his head and frowned. “We’re all going.”
“But--“
Matt immediately interjected Emily’s protest. “Em, this is our fault. We need to look for them. I’ll wake Josh and Chris. You guys wait here.”
He took off for the kitchen while Sam went for the living room where she found you, still asleep on the couch and curled up by the fire. You had fallen asleep there a few hours ago. Josh had put a blanket on you and then dissapeared into the kitchen with Chris. Sam quickly got to her knees and shook you awake. It took a few seconds for you to fully wake up and you stared at her in mild confusion when you did.
“What’s going on?”
“We need your help.” Sam explained in a panic. “They played this dumb prank on Hannah and she ran out into the snow. Beth went after her but they haven’t come back in half an hour. We all need to go and look for them.”
You were up immediately, panic coursing through you at the thought of your friends lost in the woods. Hurriedly, you put on your snowboots and nearly fell over in your attempt to tie them while hopping toward the front door. “We could go in groups of two to three people. Someone should stay behind though.”
“Good idea.” Sam nodded and followed you, grabbing your jacket that had been discarded on a nearby armchair and handing it to you. “And we should probably have each group look at a specific area of the mountain.”
“And we--“
You were interrupted by someone calling out your name and when you turned in the direction the voice had come from, Josh was hurrying over. For someone who’d been out drunk a few minutes ago he looked terribly sober now, eyes wet with tears.
“What happened? What did you guys do?”
“I don’t know.” You explained quickly. “I was asleep on the couch. Sam woke me up and said they played a prank on Hannah.”
“We fucked up, Josh.” Sam said in desperation. “I tried to find Hannah but their damn prank had already started and now the twins are out in the snowstorm. They have been outside for half an hour now.”
Josh swallowed and tried to calm down. “Okay, we-- we have to go now!”
You nodded and grabbed Josh by the arm, trying to shove your worries and the memories this all evoked in you away in favour of being strong for your boyfriend. “Let’s go.”
The next hours were spent walking through the snow, shivering and calling out the twins’ names to no avail. You had gone with Josh while everyone else had split into groups of two with Chris staying behind in case the twins got back. But he hadn’t called either of you, yet, meaning they hadn’t come back. You could tell Josh was getting increasingly panicked, his movements getting frantic and his eyes overflowing with tears ever so often. He was trying to wipe the tears away before you saw them but you did and you could only imagine how horrible this must have been for him. It was painful to see your long-term boyfriend like this, so distraught and hopeless.
“Josh.” You said, stopping in front of him. “We should call the police or mountain rescue or anyone that can help us.”
“We need to keep looking!” He insisted, a sob breaking from his throat. “Honey, we need to-- we need to-- we looked everywhere! We searched this whole fucking mountain and we haven’t found any sign of them!”
You gasped in shock as he fell to his knees, sobbing brokingly into the night’s raging snowstorm. Quickly, you crouched down to embrace him, trying to calm him down. Josh kept crying, hopeless and broken. You also felt close to tears, feeling helpless and lost yourself. It was all so terribly reminiscent of your father’s death, of the way you hadn’t been able to help, to get anyone to help before it had been too late. But this was no time to think about something that had happened back in Middleschool when there was a more pressing matter at hand. You had to be strong for Josh. You had to get help before it was too late.
“Josh, we will call someone now. Someone will come and help us, someone with search dogs, equiptment and much more light. They will find them in no time, I’m sure.” You urged gently, knowing that there was no time to be lost. “Take it from someone who had a loved one pass away in the wilderness -- we need professional help. I never-- We thought we could find my dad on our own and we didn’t. But it’s not too late for Hannah and Beth.”
“I shouldn’t have left them alone. I should have--“
“Josh, this isn’t your fault.”
“But it is.”
