Charade inspired Flash AU.
Barry is vacationing with Iris and Eddie. His husband of a year, Harrison Wells, was supposed to join them but begged off at the last minute claiming work. Barry reluctantly confides in his friends that he's planning on getting a divorce. The shine of his whirlwind romance has worn off and Harrison no longer seems like the person Barry had thought he was.
While there, he meets a charming man named Leonard Wynters who flirts with Barry every time they meet. Barry's hesitant to have an affair despite his decision to divorce Harrison, but he does enjoy Leonard's attention while making his current boundaries clear.
Barry, Iris, and Eddie return to Central City where it turns out Harrison is dead. Got pushed off a train on the way out of town, having lied to Barry about work getting in the way. And of course Barry is a suspect in the murder. Though his alibi vacationing with on of the CCPD's detectives means he's not lead suspect.
It is revealed while Barry's being questioned that Harrison Wells was a fake identity. He had several, in fact, and appeared to be changing identities again when he was killed. From what they've been able to tell, his real name was most likely Eobard Thawne. No relation to Eddie here if only because I don't want to explain Eddie not recognizing Eobard.
The funeral is a quiet, small affair. There's Barry, Iris, Eddie, Joe, Cisco, Ronnie and Caitlin... and that's it, aside from the detective on the case sitting in the back of the room. So basically people who are only really there as moral support for Barry. UNTIL, that is, three people come breezing in one at a time. Each using the open casket viewing the verify that Harrison is really, truly dead. Hartley Rathaway, Malcolm Merlyn, and Damien Dhark.
Barry winds up meeting with an FBI agent who has taken over the Wells case, Agent Jay Garrick, who explains to Barry that Eobard Thawne was involved in a half a billion dollar heist some years ago but screwed over his four crewmembers. Hartley Rathaway, their inside man who helped steal from his parents company to get back at them for disowning him when he came out as gay. Malcolm Merlyn, a conman who'd been out of the game after his wife's death and his son refusing to follow in his footsteps. Damien Dhark, who has quite a reputation as a thief who leaves no witnesses. And Hunter Zolomon, who died during the heist under unusual circumstances. Garrick thinks one of the remaining three caught up to Eobard, killed him for the money, and is only pretending not to have it. He wants to use Barry to figure out which one it is.
Meanwhile, Leonard Wynters reappers in Barry's life, resuming their flirtation only this time without Barry holding back. After all, a widower can't cheat on a dead husband so Barry doesn't have to feel bad about reciprocating Leonard's interest anymore.
Except Leonard Wynters may not be who he claims. And he has an interest in that missing money too...

eobarry for the ship game !
Yay!! Another ask!! Thank you!!
Eobarry is just such a hard ship for me to say if I ship it or not, just because it is so complicated. It has so much backing though, but just because I personally wouldn’t want to see them get together, I’m going to go with I don’t ship it.
1. Why don’t you ship it?
Like I said, this is a complicated relationship. I fully agree with Thawne being in some kind of fucked up version of love with Barry. He clearly has idolized him since he was young, and Barry was the only thing that kept eobard going as a child. He devoted his life to Barry, and the only thing that changed that was once Thawne realized that he wasn’t special to Barry, at least not in the ways Eobard hoped. So he made himself special by causing almost every single bad moment in Barry’s life. He became a physical representation of both Barry’s trauma and guilt. It is very clearly not healthy for anyone involved lmao.
Barry, on the other hand, also has very complicated feelings about Thawne. He hates him, enough to actually kill Thawne. Barry’s talked about how pathetic Eobard is, and how much he resents him for ruining Barry’s life. Yet, Barry also wants to help Thawne, and to some extent, forgive him. Barry desperately wants to move on from their struggles, and is willing to choose to care about Eobard to make it happen. I don’t know if Barry knows a life with out the other speedster, and I think that leaves him with very confused feelings, as he doesn’t really know if he genuinely cares for Thawne or if it’s just the trauma talking.
Despite both clearly caring for each other in their own fucked up ways, I don’t think I can say either from healthy places. Thawne clearly is obsessed with Barry, and it’s hard to say that is parasocial relationship with the Flash growing up didn’t inspire it. Thawne projected on to Barry when his childhood wasn’t great, so his adoration is somewhat built on a false premise. On the same note, it’s hard to tell if Barry’s care for Thawne comes from a place of genuine concern and affection for the other speedster, or if it comes from years of trauma. Barry is a character who historically wants to help everyone, no matter their past actions, but also, Barry wanting to move forward past the things Thawne has done is extremely personal. Barry’s want to move on from their struggles past with Thawne is, at times, self serving as a way to protect himself and his loved ones from Eobards cruel and evil actions. Barry’s feelings of being unable to split from Thawne can very much be him being in a very abusive relationship that he feels like he can’t escape from. I’m not saying these are where their feelings for one another come from, but they are very real possibilities, and it leads to a very toxic relationship.
I whole heartedly believe these two do care about one another, but because of the toxicity, I don’t want them to ever truly be together. Both need so much therapy before they can move on in their lives, and honestly, I think there is too much bad blood between them to ever have a healthy relationship.
2. What would make you like it?
I’m personally not a fan of enemies to lovers, so personally, as long as they have this deep rich history of years of trauma I don’t think I could get behind it.
However, I see why people like this, and I don’t think a ship has to be perfect or even healthy for someone to enjoy it. I really do like these twos relationship. Their interconnection makes them so fun to follow, both in comics and in fan stuff. Seeing Thawne and Barry deal with their feelings unhealthily can be really interesting. I personally just struggle when they are depicted as endgame, or the trauma is never addressed. I personally don’t want to romanticize some of the awful things that have happened between these characters, and there is instances where I feel that has happened in certain fan works. Once again, that’s just not something I personally enjoy, but I don’t care what people put out into the world.
3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
There are some really amazing people who love this ship, and have some of the best opinions on comic book stuff I have ever seen. People who have genuinely read flash comics and understand Barry and Thawnes complicated relationship are so smart, I can totally see why some people ship these two characters. There is very few people who enjoy this ship that I actively disagree with. It’s almost like enjoying this ship means having excellent critical thinking skills lol.
Also, just again, yall make some amazing art for this ship. Their interconnection makes amount of heavily pieces I have seen of these characters is mind blowing. Very inspirational.
Thanks for asking!! Hopefully I don’t break anyone’s hearts with this take, Eobarry is fun and well backed, but just not for me!

Eobarry because you know I gotta
Tumblr media
@zeroducks-2 OF COURSE IT'S YOU TWO (affectionate)
It really seems appropriate because before you guys introduced me to this wonderful, maddening, all consuming ship, I used to be a sane and normal person lol
So! Here it is~
Tumblr media
Yeah, I'm sorry that it's not too much different from yours but is it really any surprise? xD We all have the chronic Yellow Rat disease, both infectious and incurable ajsgdksal
On a serious note, I've recently found that I REALLY love obsessive characters, legit one of my favorite character types ever. When they love something so, SO much it robs them of their humanity and it pushes them past the brink and beyond, I eat that shit UP, I will never get enough of it, I am RAVENOUS and I NEED IT and Eobard fulfills all my check boxes
I just really wanna take Eo and study him in a lab cause he is SO captivating to me. The way he loves Barry, how he's so far gone but he's holding onto Barry with white bloody knuckles, how he's a villain but he seems to keep doing like....good deeds?? (Don't get me wrong, he absolutely has done some heinous stuff, he is Not exempt from that!), the way that he tries to actually be good but the universe punishes for it, THE WAY THAT HE ESSTENIALLY SACRIFICED HIS OWN HUMAITY TO BRING BARRY BACK TO LIFE LIKE WOW I AM NOW EATING THE CONCRETE THANK YOU BYE And then there's Barry who keeps REVIVING HIM, who became his lightning rod and he showed him forgiveness and compassion after EVERYTHING Eobard has done to him. They are both doomed by the narrative in different ways and yet they're the only ones like them in the whole of the multiverse, they are so far removed from being human and have become intrinsic and integral forces of the universe who must always have each other so there would always be balance, and y'all, if that's not one of the hero/villain ships of all time to I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS

trick or treat!
Hello! You get a sneak-peak at my current eobarry WIP, where Eobard accidentally gives his teenage self superspeed, and of course the younger Eo jumps at the chance to go hang out with the teenage self of his hero in the past. The idea came from an ask I got a few months ago, so there is some more background here.
After the final test before the winter break, Mr. Saunders dropped Barry’s copy in front of him with a fail grade scribbled on top and Barry’s stomach dropped for reasons unrelated to the bad grade. “Come see me after class, Barry,” said Mr. Saunders, clicking his tongue disapprovingly. Barry swallowed. “I can’t today, Darryl is expecting me right back.” Barry was sure his voice was shaking and he internally cursed himself for not preparing a better excuse. Darryl was working late today, there wouldn’t be anyone to check at what time Barry came home for at least a good 4 hours after school. Next to him, Eo sat up straighter in his chair, and glared up at the teacher as if he could singlehandedly chase the source of Barry's discomfort away. “I’ll have the secretary call to explain. We need to talk,” said Mr. Saunders, tone final.
Mr. Saunders is a fake name for adult Eobard and I just think it would be very funny if his biggest problem were his own teenager self. I still need to decide on an ending though, so right now I just have a series of unconnected moments.
Thanks for asking!

💜 Eobarry!
💜 surprise kiss / impulsive kiss
(imagine this happens at the end of The Flash Age, but Iris isn't there and August keeps his hands to himself <3)
«Good team-up, guys. See you later.» Thawne says amicably enough, raising his hand in a gesture of goodbye. As if they weren't all still breathless for having run from a world which was decaying right under their feet.
«Hey. Wait a second...» Barry surges up as if to grab his arm, side-stepping August, but stops just shy of touching his Reverse. «No need to keep running, let's take a breather.» He tries, and doesn't really understand the way Thawne's expression grows dark, the corners of his mouth curling downwards.
«So that you can get an opening and toss me back in one of your prisons? I'll pass.»
Barry did not expect to hear that and it almost makes him recoil. He feels righteous anger bubbling up - yes, this man should be behind bars and for so many good reasons, but no, it was not in Barry's intention to sort of ambush him to incapacitate and imprison him. He never even thought about it.
«Would that be my style?» He asks back, offering a half smile in an attempt to keep everything on amicable tones. «You did the right thing, Eobard. And then came back for us, without strings attached.» He takes a tentative step forward. «And our truce is still on anyway. Stay a minute, tell me about what happened with Chris... I want to know the details of how it went down.»
The other speedster's expression twitches and his posture grows minutely more tense. He seems to be hesitant on both what to do and what to say, but that's alright, Barry can allow him a minute.
«He's right, Barry. We should make sure he ends up in jail.» August chimes in, arms crossed and his scowl visible from the ripped bits of his mask. «I am grateful for his help, but now you're acting like one good action would make him a reformed man. Have you somehow forgotten he killed your mother...?»
«What?» Barry snaps, wide-eyed as he looks back at August. «This is not about what happened in the past, it's about what happened today.» He ends up saying in the steadiest tone he can manage. «Wasn't it for him, we wouldn't even be here having this conversation.»
«So you'd forgive him, just like that?» August looks between frustrated and incredulous. «You tossed me in jail without a second thought, and now claim you're going to let this guy go?»
«You...» You killed children for no reason, Barry wants to say but refrains, that's not the point. This isn't about who's guilty and who isn't, it's something else entirely.
«You should listen to him, Barry.» Eobard observes placidly, a smile on his face and his pose now relaxed, which is not what Barry expected to see. «I don't belong with heroes. You made damn sure I never would.»
He feels another twinge of resentment at that, but before he can phrase a retort the other speedster is upon him, closing the small distance by pulling Barry against himself. Then their lips are crashing together, Barry's breath is stuck in his throat, and Thawne's palm is cradling his nape.
«But thank you for today. It was fun.» Eobard adds quietly enough it's just for them to hear, disentangling Barry's fingers from how they were gripping the front of his suit.
«Wait-!» He tries again but the other speedster has bolted away already, and Barry is left with the inexplicable urge to run after him, and August's nonplussed expression.
kiss ask game here!

Any romantic/soft Eobarry headcanons? Trick or treat
-Eobard is Barry's lightning rod and vice versa, which should be impossible but here they both are. Neither can be permanently erased from the universe and each acts as a lodestone for the other when they’re killed.
-Eobard's fascination with the 20th and 21st centuries started with Barry Allen. His fascination with Barry started because his parents underestimated how contrary their lab grown genius would be. When he was being indoctrinated into the whole Thawne/Allen feud, Eobard got curious and started doing real research into the Flash of the past, and from there he fell in love.
-Eobard watched Care Bears because it was considered a cultural juggernaut, and picked up the nickname Care-Barr for Barry because it was just too accurate. They sound just like him.
-Eobard's consistently frustrated with how oblivious Barry is. Of course Barry's more than human. Of course Eobard is in love with him. Why should it be on Eo to spell it out? Barry being 'deliberately obtuse' about these two facts fuels a lot of Eobard's outbursts.
-Barry finds Eobard's enthusiasm for the Flash legacy endearing, when he's not actively stalking Barry. After all, Barry's also a nerd with a Flash (Jay Garrick) obsession, and so are most of his friends and family.
-Barry started buying certain items of clothes in a too large size, so they'd fit Eobard, when he discovered that Eobard likes to steal his clothes. He doesn't tell Eobard this, he knows half the fun is the theft. Eobard makes sure that Barry wears them often enough that they smell like him, so Barry knows Eobard is just borrowing them.
-Barry likes to flirt with science puns. Eobard responds with equally nerdy and far more suggestive history innuendo.
-Sometimes when Barry seems to be talking to himself, he’s actually murmuring to Eobard when his Reverse is present but invisible.

3, 6, 8, 10, and 25 for Eobard Thawne (Arrowverse)
For this post
Time for a villain blorbo
3: Can I say literally everything past season 6? Because that’s my answer. Literally. Everything.
6: Oh this feels incredibly targeted— we both like to ruin Barry Allen’s life.
8: Hmm. Honestly nothing that I can think of, fanon Thawne is funny af
10: He would kill me on the spot. And I’m not a fan of actual murder and crimes tbh
25: Hmmm. I always liked him as a villain (before Eric Wallace), the only change really is my damn fascination with Eobarry and how I see him differently now because of it

🧍‍♀️😨 👁
🧍‍♀️what fic is begging for your attention right now but you refuse to give it?
Timeless Nonesense. And I might just wind up giving in a bit so that I can get the part of it nagging me out of the way.
It's the story where Barry wakes up in the pilot episode, but with memories from multiple timelines and realities due to how the Speed Force sent him back in time to prevent a future disaster in the Speed Force's personal timeline. It's intended to be a crack fic, at times parodying the show and at times taking the premise seriously.
I've got three story arcs lined up in my head thus far. The first is where Barry wakes up and is very much not the Barry that Eobard was expecting. Despite himself, Eobard comes to trust that this version of Barry really is telling the truth and genuinely wants to be allies with him.
The second arc is set in the future where Eobard is from where Barry proves Eobard is actually Malcolm Thawne's descendant, not Eddie Thawne (reusing an explanation I've used/am using in other places) and convinces him to destroy the Negative Speed Force before it can become a threat to the real Speed Force. It's not what Barry came back in time to do, but not having to worry about the NSF is one less problem to deal with later.
Third arc is when the Eobarry finally starts. They return to the past to start setting up the reputation of the Flash in order to start attracting more Speedsters notice as part of the long game to protect the Speed Force. They take advantage of events Barry knows are coming to plausibly 'pass' on Barry's abilities to Eobard to make it look like Harrison Wells is now a Speedster too.
It's the first arc that's nagging at me. And I do see this as being a really fun series to work on. But of my Eobarry fic ideas, the one with Herobard is the one I like better. So I'm determined to get part 3 done before I start posting this series. (We'll see how that goes, though.)
😨 describe in FULL detail the first fic you wrote (yes I'm talking the wattpad shit we all did it).
Well, if we're talking the first ever fanfic I wrote, not the first I posted, then... I was... ten? maybe? And my parents had just okayed putting the old Windows 3.1 computer in my room as long as I was responsible and didn't stay up late playing The Black Cauldron or the Kings Quest games.
I started writing Star Trek Voyager fanfic pretty much immediately. I don't remember the plot details, but I know it was about Seven of Nine and Captain Janeway because they were my favorites and Seven in particular was just so cool.
TBH, I basically wanted to be Naomi Wildman. (Captain's Assistant and friends with Seven of Nine? Sign me up, please.)
It was not a self-insert or use an OC for the main character - though I did toy around with those later on. I do remember that much. It was something of a bad things happen and the crew reacts to save the day type plot.
Much as I wish I still had the story I was working on back then just for nostalgia reasons, the computer crashed after only a few months and my parents decided it wasn't worth the price to repair. My fanfic was lost and I started using the hall computer for games instead. I was a bit devastated by the loss of my fanfic, so I didn't start over in a notebook and instead tried my hand at an original mystery that was very Nancy Drew and A Wrinkle in Time inspired, though I don't think that made it past the first chapter. It was a few years later when i was... fourteen? that I was introduced to fanfiction.net, however, and my fanfic obsession truly began.
👁 have you ever accidentally foreshadowed something you fully didn't intend to happen?
I'm pretty sure I did that in an old Harry Potter fic I wrote back in high school. It was a Draco/Harry fic that I took down when I got concerned by the idea of my parents looking up my ffnet account and finding it... and it's since been lost entirely. It was a pretty innocent fic, but between some of the nastier comments that had started heading my way (ffnet was going through a wave of people leaving flames, or very rude reviews) and not really knowing how my mom in particular would react to me writing two boys kissing and holding hands... *shrugs* it was easier to just take down the fic entirely.
It was among the first fics I'd ever posted and my first attempt at a long fic. So it's not really surprising that sometimes I'd write things intending to indicate the fic was going in one direction without realizing that it was actually meandering into the weeds in a different direction. The whole thing was a fun learning experience and ffnet had a very critique friendly atmosphere at the time, so getting feedback was helpful in fixing some of the more egregious errors and foreshadowing failures. I do wish I could have finished it, but... I don't regret losing it the way I do the Voyager fic because stopping work on it was my choice. And I think it helps that while Star Trek continues to grow in new directions and promote inclusive narratives, JKR has since gone off the terf deep end. So losing a fanfic based off her writing is more relief than bother at this point.

Flash Fandom!
SEND ME A FANDOM OR A SHIP OR A CHARACTER
Favorite character: BARRY MY BELOVED OFC <3
Least Favorite character: *a moment of courage* the whole west family (yes wally included and even daniel too bc why did he ever exist im sry vdasökdv)
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): oooh ok barry/patty, barry/fiona, wallinda, eobarry anddd coldflash (i had to)
Character I find most attractive: i don’t think ppl realize how good looking eobard really is like i blame artists for that a lot pls draw him as the sexiest man alive past present and future that he is. i love this post by @lokescurse i think her description is 100000/10
Character I would marry: deffo barry skjdskmfv
Character I would be best friends with: idk i can’t do self insert that well but i’d say avery bc i think our ages are closer and she is so cool
a random thought: BRING FIONA WEBB BACK WTF BARRY WAS SO LUCKY W WOMEN DAMN
An unpopular opinion: hmm...... might sound harsh but i think tornado twins should never be brought back to life. you know those character types that only exist to be dead-- i can’t explain properly but yeah. also i think they’re just unnecessary lol i know they died as adults so i don’t feel that bad for saying these and as cruel as their deaths were i still can’t bring myself to care about them letbarryhavebetterkids2021
ALSO I’M GONNA SAY THIS: Why does everyone think pre-Reverse Flash Eobard was so obsessed with Barry and was so inspired by him and he loved him so much etc but it was only on his part??? Barry and Eobard were friends before, they worked together like Eobard k n e w Barry on a very personal level so are you telling me that whatever Eobard was feeling for Barry, it was only one sided?? Barry didn’t feel the same at all?? They were very good friends and friendships are usually with mutual affection I think Barry was just as gay for Eobard sfjkdjf Like I’m sure he’s written a letter or two for Eobard as well. One of the mains reasons I ship Eobarry bc it’s not the creepy dark version NO ma’am they used to be in love (this deffo needs more explanation this was so half assed but One Day i promise)
My Canon OTP: barrypatty i just loooove them so much. i’ve read a bunch of SA issues again goddd patty always loved barry i Swear she’d always look out for him <333
My Non-canon OTP: can i say ColdFlash?? one of my top 3 canon/noncanon OTPs for sure i love them soooo much
Most Badass Character: they’re all bamf but i really like avery also bc she deserves more love.
Most Epic Villain: i wrote Eo right away at first lol but i think Rogues are epic too. And Rogues are way underrated so i’ll go w them this time.
Pairing I am not a fan of: umm westallen but is water wet at this point i’m never gonna be a fan of westallen (i like them in SA but... it’s silver age cmon asfjsfs)
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I feel like if you're a speedster in DC you are doomed to be screwed over at one point. It's like a rule. So many speedsters/flashfam members have been victims of that. Eobard is literally dc's #1 scapegoat and it's so damn frustrating bc it's outright LAZY AND CHEAP WRITING i hate it so much. So yeah, I’d say Eo, Barry and Hunter deffo are the worst victims
Also a special mention for our sweet baby child Thad-- who’s been a victim of geoff “i love killing child characters i don’t care whose character development i have to destroy to do it” johns
Favourite Friendship: wally and hartley and bart and jesse. i like avery and wallace’s friendship too tbh i think avery would be great friends w anyone she’s that awesome. so yeah mostly underrated friendships. i also love-- despite agreeing with some of the criticism-- august and barry
Character I most identify with: none they are all so much better than me kdfjka also again. i can’t rlly do that (would ‘insert’ be the right word idk) w fictional characters very well
Character I wish I could be: i guess none?? but if i was a fictional speedster in a fictional world i’d be a great ally to flashfam but i also would hang out with the rogues and then i’d die bc i’d ask Eo if he ever had sex with a human person and he’d kill me. but yeah i’d love to be the type of character who’d have the guts to ask Eobard a stupid dumb question like that we’d have that sincerity klfjakf idk what i’m saying ignore me pls fcjksjdg

Please don’t ask me what the hell is this - I don’t even know. It just happened in my brain this morning, and... well...
Crossover. Unfinished. Eventually, if I ever get to finish it, Westallen (very eventually – at this point neither Barry nor Iris are even proper characters tbh), but, as expected from me, with some Eobarry thrown in (though it kinda mutates into a different hero/villain ship).
Act I
Narrator: Once upon some other timeline, King Henri and Queen Eleanor celebrated the birth of their son Prince Barrence. They invited many fairies who brought splendid gifts and blessings and gifts of blessings to the newborn.
Queen Eleanor: Dear, did this random fairy just mutter something about our son getting a… twin? I’m certain I only gave birth to one child.
King Henri: Oh, you probably misheard. She most likely meant “queen”. As in, he’ll marry a queen when he grows up. Or maybe she wanted to say “sibling” but misspoke. I see the gift-bestowing is almost over, the three Speed Force Fairies are the last ones left, and after they offer their blessings it’ll be time to dance… Oh no! What is this?! The Evil Yellow Fairy we didn’t invite came uninvited!
Eobard Thawne (who looks like eyeliner-wearing Tom Cavanagh, but with red hair – and when I say “red”, I mean it keeps switching colours from pale ginger to copper to outright crimson and so on): I’m not “evil”, I’m efficient. Malefficient. Efficient at being très mal, if you will. Ha-haaa! And here’s my gift to bestow on the newborn: I promise you, Barry Allen, that you will die! On a day of your eighteenth birthday, you’ll be drenched in mysterious dangerous chemicals and struck by the lightning!
Queen Eleanor: Ah! Your cruel words are like the knife in my heart! (faints)
Max Mercury, Johnny Chambers and Jay Garrick, the three Speed Force Fairies: No! This wont’t happen! Do not worry, Your Majesties – with our combined magic powers and with Speed Force itself on our side we can override this curse! Prince Barrence won’t die, he’ll just fall asleep for one hundred year and nine months, and then he’ll be awaken by the True Love’s Kiss!
King Henri: But even if he gets to meet his True Love before turning eighteen, how will that person stay alive for hundred years?
Eobard: Ha-haaa! I’m from the future, so I’ll be there when it’s time for him to wake up. Oh, and he already met me. In the future. Or in a future. (“You’ll Be Mine” by The Pierces starts playing in the backgroung while he speaks)
King Henri: What the… Didn’t you want him to die?
Eobard: Yes. But also no. Our relationship is complicated. Anyway, I knew the Speed Force would protect him, so I tricked its fairies to interfere with my curse – and now, when Barry wakes up, he’ll have the Speed Force powers! As he always was supposed to, but wouldn’t in this timeline, if not for me! Ha-haaa! (Disappears)
King Henri: To protect my son, I hereby order every citizen of my kingdom to get rid of the… treadmills!
Queen Eleanor (who came to her senses already): Treadmills? Why treadmills?
King Henri: I… I meant to say “mysterious dangerous chemicals”, I don’t know why I said “treadmills”. It’s like some voice whispered in my ear…
Eobard (off-stage): Ha-haaa! IT WAS ME! I talked to him at a hypnotic frequency and put an idea in his mind he couldn’t fight! Now all the treadmills will be destroyed – all of them except for my Cosmic Treadmill, because I keep it safe in the future! Also they can’t hear anything I say! Well, the narrator can. Narrator doesn’t count.
Narrator: Can you stop saying “ha-haaa!“?
Eobard: No.
Act II
Speed Force Fairies: We need to take Prince Barrence to the past and raise him up under the fake name to protect his real identity, so then he’ll fall asleep one hundred years ago and will wake up in his own time!
Narrator: They attempted to do so, but, upon arriving to the past…
Max: Wait – this child – that’s not Prince Barrence!
The Speed Force: Sorry, guys – couldn’t let it happen. Prince Barrence mustn’t travel to the past – it might cause the terrible event called Flashpoint. This child I’ve replaced Barrence with is Princess Iris from the future. You need to take care of her and raise her under the assumed name to protect her real identity.
Jay: Let’s call her Rose. Also a flower name.
Max: Exactly. Also a flower name. Too similar. We’re trying to protect her, we should go for something different, to avoid suspicions. Why not Martha? Martha is a great name. Classic.
Johnny: Exactly. Classic. Every famous knight errant has a mom named Martha. What if some evil sorcerer kills her by mistake? We can’t let it happen. Let’s call her Donna.
Jay: No, Rose!
Max: Martha!
Johnny: Donna!
Narrator: Eventually they decided that on Mondays and Tuesdays she’ll be called Rose, on Wednesdays and Thursdays Martha, on Fridays and Saturdays Donna, and on Sundays Amelia. That would surely confuse whoever they need to protect her from…
Act III
Narrator: Many years have passed, Rose Martha Donna Amelia grew up and became a beautiful young woman who had no idea that she’s a princess from the future. But one day (either Monday or Tuesday) another person from the future turned up in the village... uninvited, as usual.
Eobard Thawne (who looks like bearded Matt Letscher): This Rose girl weirdly reminds me of someone who reminds me of Barry Allen. I’m going to make her fall in love with me by messing with the timeline and eliminating all the other men in her life. Including not just suitors, but her inexplicably familiar-looking legal guardians too, lest they interfere with my plans. I didn’t intend on marrying anyone when I arrived here, in this century, but if marrying her will somehow make me feel closer to Barry – so be it!
Narrator: His attempts to mess with the timeline didn’t work, but also didn’t get unnoticed.
Tenth Doctor (brandishing the sonic screwdriver): Step away from my Ro- wait, that’s not my R- whatever. How dare you trying to mess with this young woman’s life?! Only I’m allowed to randomly manipulate people’s past to make it easier for me to get off-limits books from the library, as detailed in a short story “Continuity Errors”! You are not me and therefore… (trails off, staring at Eobard in confusion and vague semi-recognition) You are not me, no, definitely not – not my future, and if you were my past I’d know – (glares at narrator) Spoilers! Shut up.
Narrator: I didn’t even say anything…
Tenth Doctor (ignoring the narrator): So why do I feel like I know you?
Eobard: Why do I feel like I know you? What is this weird drumming that starts in my head when I look at you? Where are those weird memories of orange sky and red grass started coming from? Could it be that the history books were wrong? What if my One True Love And Nemesis, my heroic counterpart who time-travels and runs a whole fucking lot and occasionally changes appearances just like I do… isn’t Barry Allen? What if – could it be –
Tenth Doctor: You?!
Eobard (smiling): Use my name, Doctor.
Cliffhanger
Narrator: Now, for our cliffhanger, let’s take a trip to Glass Shard Beach, New Jersey…
Malcolm “Malford” Pines: Ugh, my family is full of conmen and fake psychics, yet now I know some of them do have genuine powers, but those powers are beyond my reach – all because I don’t have a twin! They say it’s a bad sign for a Pines to be born twin-less, for twindom is the key to the true Pines magic, not all that fake stuff to peddle to naïve marks! If I had a twin, then the mystery of the blue flame could be mine! I mean, ours! Maybe I should invent a cloning machine to clone myself! No, the clone probably won’t count. Or will it? I won’t find out if I won’t try. But it would be easier with someone’s help. (Sighs) Why, oh why don’t I have a twiiiiin…
Eobard Thawne (who looks like a big one-eyed yellow triangle in a top hat): Twin, you say? Ha-haaa! Oh kid, do I have news for you…

Spoilers for Flash #758!
You can see the first few pages here.
So the Snarts and the others do seem to have time travelled from sometime in the past, and they don't like it either.  One wonders where the Rogues' current selves are, and if their current selves remember their past selves committing these actions or they somehow got a shock when they heard about the Legion's attack on the news.  Quite the headache indeed.  It is nice to see Len pun, however!
It's also nice to see Henry Allen remembered and addressed, because he's certainly a potential target of Eobard and crew, though I hope he isn't being brought up just to kill him during this arc.  It'd be even worse if Eobard kills him while hiding out in Barry's body, and wow I've just bummed myself out thinking about that...I really hope the book doesn't go there.  It just seems like a distinct possibility because Henry's shown on panel rather than mentioned in an off-hand comment about how he's safe too.
And yes, Eobard takes over Barry's body and Barry's consciousness is banished to a mysterious place that he believes isn't the Speed Force.  Angry undead consciousnesses of Max Mercury and Jesse Quick are there too and they're pissed at him about something.  Presumably he frees them (or they help him to escape) when he gets out of there, and that's why they appear on upcoming covers, but where are they all trapped?  Is it just Barry's own mindscape, and they're manifestations of his guilt?  Poor Max is making a habit out of needing to be helped out of limbo.
And there's something extremely ominous about Eobarry's comment "I have a family to take care of".  Obviously things aren't going to go well for Iris and the rest of the Flash Family, and the horror aspects of this body-snatching are probably going to lead to the dark ending hinted at on upcoming covers.
Unfortunately James is still being a mean jerk, as can be seen by his remark about how the Legion should be "having fun"; at other points in his history he could be talking about some harmless goofing, but now his idea of fun seems more sinister.  However, he's right to be dissatisfied about them not knowing Eobard's plans and it's good that someone in the Legion expresses dissent.  The others pick up on Eobard's deception later, but by then it's too late for them to do anything about it.  And it's interesting that the Rogues are shocked by Eobard's body snatching, even if some of the others don't mind it.  Eobard has been manipulating the Tornado Twins since they were children, but it's still a bit surprising that they're this hostile to their father and I wonder if they can even turn things around at this point because they seem pretty evil.  There's some irony that at this moment the Flash Family doesn't include Barry's actual blood relatives, as Bart's off doing his own thing with Young Justice and Jenni's only been seen in memories of the previous Family.
It's a decent issue and I'm glad to see certain points addressed, like when these Snarts are from and that the Legion are not exactly natural allies of each other or of Eobard.  But I'm still skeptical that apparently the Legion didn't get real concrete information from Eobard and they've essentially been taking his vague words on faith; you'd think they'd have more common sense than that.  Nor do I like jerk!James, although that's an ongoing thing not specific to this arc.  But we'll see where this goes and whether the Legion redeems themselves for their foolish decisions or maybe even had a contingency plan for Eobard's usual treachery.  There are still several issues left.

Updates!
Hello lovelies!
A quick update on current WIPs, :D
1. I’m currently finishing up a canon divergent work of CW’s The Flash. Featuring queer and polyamorous Barry Allen, it’s a rewrite of the first season with a dubiously happier ending, and involves Barrison/Eobarry, Coldflash, and Westallen. Word count will be about 50k, tentatively.
2. Starting Sunday, I will begin posting a canon divergent work of Roswell, New Mexico. It will explore the past relationships between Isobel, Noah, and Rosa, and what it’s like to be two people sharing a body. Another season one rewrite. Not sure how long it will be yet, but I’m excited to bring it to you all.
The Roswell, NM fic will go up on Patreon first. Patrons will receive updates a week before tumblr, and two weeks before AO3. Access is quite inexpensive, and every dollar goes towards helping me pay off medical debt and move out of an abusive living situation.
Thank you for reading! Have a wonderful day/night, everyone.

Ooh any thoughts on your royalty omegaverse Eobarry thing? If you wanted to expand it I’d love to read it. Just the way Eobarde talks about pretty you Barry is 👌. And trembling scared Barry is 👌.
Thank you so much for your interest, anon!
I am indeed expanding it, and I will most likely turn it into a longfic. I have written only snippets of it so far because I'm still unsure of what exactly I want to show, and what instead I plan only to tell.
It's my pleasure to share another snippet ♥ I finally had some time to polish it. This happens the night before their wedding - Eobard and Barry have never met, this is the first time they see each other.
(omegaverse, mentions of forced marriage)
He holds the folds of his robe tight on his chest, letting the cold night air soothe him as his breathing slows back to normal. He’s glad there was a balcony right at the end of the hallway; it’s one of the usual nightmares but waking up in a place unknown with not even the impression of a familiar smell threw him in a panic, and now the scars on his neck throb and pull like fresh bites, and there’s an impression of fingers tight around his nape.
Eobard swallows, runs a palm on his neck and wishes he had fresh water to drink. And then he flinches and turns towards the rustling sound he just heard, and finds himself looking back into the wide blue of someone else’s eyes; they probably tried to sneak away but their shawl caught on the edge of a chair.
«I didn’t mean to intrude.» Eobard mumbles, then realizes he needs to clear his throat. «I thought I was the only one who couldn't sleep.»
There is just a sliver of moon in the sky, not enough for his eyes to make out the features of the other person. But they hesitantly step closer, and Eobard realizes this is the pup of House Allen.
«Are you alright?» The boy asks, frowning as he pulls the shawl off his shoulders, which leaves him in a thin nightgown. It’s most likely that he was indeed having trouble sleeping after all. Unsurprising, since this is the night before his wedding.
«I am.» Eobard frowns, eyes darting from the pup’s face to the garment he seems to be handing to him. It smells thickly like Omega, but it doesn't feel like this is the boy's scent. «I don’t need it.»
«You’re shaking.» The pup frowns as well but seems to opt not to insist, and drapes it back on his shoulders. Then takes a step back. Probably because Eobard is still looking at him with a scowl on his face. «I… Uh. I apologize. I meant no offense.»
He pinches the bridge of his nose and schools his expression.
So, this is the last of House Allen. A young thing which maybe reaches Eobard’s chin in height, with big blue eyes and soft looking blond hair. They’re tousled and flattened as he had to have tossed and turned in his nest, and the only indication that he comes from a noble house is the color of his shawl… it’s finely woven, embellished with the sigil and hues of House Allen, and it likely belonged to the boy’s mother.
«I’m not supposed to see you, actually.» Eobard adds. «Given how… well. How we’re going to be married tomorrow.»
Understanding dawns on the pup’s face, and it clicks with Eobard that the boy hadn’t realized to be in the presence of his future consort. Blue eyes are wide again, and hands tighten around the edges of the shawl, but he doesn’t back off. He looks so young, it’s hard to believe Eobard has not even five years on him.
«You thought I was a servant?» He asks, looking away and towards the dark expanse of the distant woods. «Your name is Barrence, right?»
The pup shuffles and it takes him a moment. «Barry.» He says eventually. «I don’t know what I was thinking.» He walks past him and leans against the column of the balustrade. «What’s your name?»
«Eobard.» He replies, and tries not to think about how much the pup surely wishes for none of this to happen, and to be reunited with his pack instead. «In another circumstance I would say that it is nice to meet you, Barry.»
The pup turns and there’s something soft in his look. Not a smile, but it’s close enough. He also looks very tired, and Eobard supposes they have that in common. «In what circumstance could it be nice for a Thawne and an Allen to meet…?» He asks, jokingly enough but Eobard can tell he means it. «I’d say this is better than I thought it would be, anyway. I expected my future husband to be less inclined to even want to talk to me.»

Hiya!
I must say I never looked into Eobarry because I am an absolute sucker for Halbarry. Mostly because I love when it can be fluffy and fun, all of that AND my heart can't handle angst anymore because real life's angsty enough. BUT I hear you and see the dynamic and I see how it could be so wrecked to have this man coming to the past to try and have a way in the life of a man he adores but who rejected him. Eobard's train of thoughts is basically : "I am gonna come to him by travelling to the past, wreck his life so much that I might have a part in Barry's said life and be with him in a way or another." Like. I see it so well, so thank you for this eye-opening experience.
I am soft so I probably won't let myself sail with that ship and HalBarry is my comfort OTP hahhaa but I UNDERSTAND (I mean, I didn't look that much into it so I might be off with my interpretation).
And since I love Hal and Bear (those blorbos) so much, I want them to be happy and healthy (which is kinda a weird thing to want for people that don't exist, but lemme hope for better things in real life by living precariously through characters I relate to so if they manage to get better I might get the hope for that as well. ♡) [oops]
Take care and lots of love to you. It's really fun to hang on your Tumblr ♡
I'm so sorry this took me so long to get around to answering, I'm afraid I just didn't have the focus to do it til now.
I love Halbarry too--you can probably tell by all the Halbarry I post. Their dynamic is incredible, the mutual trust and absolute love they have for each other really shines in every action. Including when they're roasting the hell out of each other. They're a great example of a platonic relationship that has all the earmarks of potential for a really cozy romance. And yes! Eobard wants so badly to be important in Barry's life that if he can't be the best thing to happen to him, he'll be the worst. I think half of the appeal of Eobarry, as things stand in canon, is the tragedy of it. The way it's doomed before it even starts. It's the worst thing that will ever happen to either of them, and it seems as if there's just no way to prevent it.
It's also just fascinating because it's so heavily rooted in time travel--the instigating event which happens at the end of their relationship from Barry's perspective, and at the beginning from Eobard's. Can Eobard be blamed for losing his mind when he sees that he's fated to die at the hands of his idol? No. Can Barry be blamed for killing Eobard in self defense and the defense of others? No. Eobarry's one of those ships where if it were to become canon in the sense of Barry giving in and being with Eobard, the way that Eobard wants (when he doesn't want to kill Barry or be Barry...) I'd riot. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, take care and I hope things get better for you!
