man i am real sick of people seeing any complaints/criticisms about an adaptation, and taking that as a personal attack on them if they liked it. Just bc people don't like the thing you do, doesn't mean they're being hostile, or gatekeeping, or mean.
They do not need to justify not enjoying something, or to shut up so you never have to see negativity. If you do not like seeing people have opinions that aren't your own, it's on you to block them, not on them to not post how they feel about the latest big thing in the fandom they've probably been in for years, possibly decades.
#Sorry but the passive aggressive “why are people so mad at [fans of adaptation]?”#and then what they mean is “why are people criticising [adaptation] on their own blogs?”#Is actually a lot more shitty and hostile imo#Strangers online really are not responsible for managing your feelings and that is not being rude#It does not help that ime the criticisms are often very clear about specific things they do or do not like#Whereas the people complaining about the criticisms often do not actually say what they enjoyed#Just that they think the source material is inferior - often without actually saying why they think that either#Which is extra upsetting if it becomes clear they *haven't actually experienced said source material*#This happens with video game adaptations often now and i see fans of games even act incredulous that#People in fandoms enjoy a video games story when “games are for playing”#My guy#Buddy#Pal#Friendo#Do you think tumblr and ao3 are gaming platforms???#The visible fandoms for games that makes fanart and fanfiction and comics and post their headcanons and analysis and cosplay the characters#ARE FANS OF THE FUCKING STORY#GAMES ARE A STORYTELLING MEDIUM#Of fucking COURSE people established online to be fans of this thing that make art and writing about it like the ART AND WRITING#Like cool you're a casual fan that only plays games for playing them and doesn't really engage with the story#But don't just casually insult everyone else who does and then call *them* intolerant lol#The goddamn audacity of some people I swear to god#Disclaimer: this is not about if you're on your own blog and a hater barges in uninvited#his is about whining in the tag that not everyone like your thing and by extension you

I find it really spineless and ridiculous when people (especially in Grishaverse fandom) post stuff like "There’s a certain account that I won't mention but they do and say this and this, and they completely misunderstood the characters because blah blah... I am this close to blocking their account they are so aggravating...". Ok, so block them?? Who are you trying to fool by faux politeness of not mentioning the blog's name but describing them in detail? If you feel the need to mention it, it means you want to publicly throw shade. And then you draw satisfaction from the comments guessing who it is like it's middle school. Not to mention distorting what they said to win yourself sympathy points and make your argument more plausible. We can post whatever we please on our blogs ofc, but if you disagree with someone, either have the guts to comment your opinion or block them. Or gossip in a group chat, whatever. I don't understand these kind of posts because this is a hellsite and the odds of you interacting with them are low. They probably don't come on your side of the fandom anyway. This isn't a southern country club where you try to conceal your thinly veiled disdain. It's about fictional characters for goodness' sake, let people have their opinions!
#have not seen one written about me but one about a blog i follow#it's just so childish#and now i had to write a post in a similar manner just so they can maybe understand#probably won't though#watch some people start complaining about freedom of speech and start bitchy passive aggressive comments#“We can post whatever we want on our blog” well so can they!#fandoms are about arguing about characters#fandom#hard life of a fan#grishaverse#grishaverse fandom#shadow and bone#grisha trilogy#six of crows duology#six of crows#the darkling#grishanalyticritical#aleksander morozova

please stop speaking for jewish people, green spock isnt antisemitic, it has context in canon just like his pointed ears and eyebrows which could out of context be seen as antisemitic devil coding. but it isnt. he's an alien with green blood. he can be green. sincerely your friendly neighborhood jew. 🖖🏻
Anon I’m literally Jewish. I don’t know what you thought you’d gain here.
Also by that logic, we, as humans, with red blood, should now also be bright candy red?
#els.txt#like yeah okay I’m not claiming to speak for all of us#me personally the jew who runs this blog finds people drawing Spock bright fucking Orion greeb#to be antisemitic.#is that better?#also I’m#gonna be real with you anon. this isn’t a ‘your friendly neighborhood Jew’ moment this is passive aggressive as hell#and once again just because something has context in canon doesn’t??? make it not antisemitic???

same anon, you're real for that. why r you made someone is using a vaguely similar color palette to you or is a little inspired off you . get a life that isn't tumblr fame lol ! (not @ you but the . yeah)
LITERALLY 💀 emote inspiration discourse is some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Toyhouse/the character design community has this problem, too. How are u gonna gatekeep people being inspired by ur work? Art inspires art, and creativity breeds creativity. If u dont want people being inspired by ur shit, A. Dont fucking post it? And B. That goes against everything about art, howre u fr gonna take away the fundamental liberty and joy of creating things?
People r totally free to be upset at people copying them or tracing or claiming their ideas as their own or wtv, but INSPIRATION? 💀
People who make emotes on tumblr ain't shit either man like u dont got any authority to be stopping people from being inspired off u, ur just a whimsy-killer.
#idiosyncraticₒ#harangueₒ#non cryptic#this is passive aggressive as fuck btw#thanks anon#anon ask#anonymous#anon#emote blog#emoji blog

my least favorite thing is when people compliment someone's work by using passive aggressive comments about what they hate about other people's work. like please, just focus on what is actually in front of you
#this isn't about anyone here#i just saw it on my other blog where someone made a huge long list of all the things they hate about other people's fics#that the person didn't do in that particular work. in a comment on the work. like bruh at least put it in the tags#idk if that makes sense but it was like#'a thing where X ISN'T [doing common thing in fic]?' in a long list and that was almost the entire commentary on the work#like why can't you just say 'i love that you did these things' without being like 'i'm so picky about these fandom works and hate how other#do it'#do you know what i mean? does this make sense?#the point is#it reads so passive aggressive and put down-y to other people#anyway i guess i should get to work but it bugs me when i see people act like that#this is eli

a brief list of ask game tips, from somebody who struggles to give and receive interaction:
send an ask to the person you reblog the game from, unless they specifically say not to! reblogging without giving them that participation is honestly really rude. you don't even have to go back and read the answer, you can just send and move on!
this one is more of a hassle, but i personally like to try and send asks to the people who reblog a game from me too. this helps to ensure that everybody gets at least one message. it isn't always convenient or possible, but it's nice to do when you can.
if the ask game is about ocs or other characters, or anything that requires specifying something, it's good to either list some available characters in the tags or have one you'll default to if askers don't specify. not everybody who's sending an ask will be deeply familiar with your blog, and it makes it easier for people to give you that interaction if you take a moment to lay it out for them.
if you reblog an ask game and don't get any asks, there's no shame in re-reblogging it a little while later or posting a reminder that you're still open to asks. posts get buried easily on a busy dash, and sometimes it takes a little repetition for people to see them (or decide to send something).
you may be more likely to get asks if you have anon on (personally i almost never send messages off anon unless i'm friends with the person i'm sending it to). not everybody wants to open up their inbox to nonsense, though. your comfort comes first!
#scheiße#this isnt meant to be passive aggressive or about this blog btw#i have like 30 followers here i dont expect asks#but just speaking about like general experience on other blogs & in other communities

Curious.. cause I’m kinda in multiple fandoms all at once right now
What are you guys following me for? Also what would you like to see more of on this blog?
(Note: I am asking cause I want to see the demographic of who’s actively following me, I won’t do everything that is asked of me in the comments)
#genuinely curious cause this blog is so out of focus#if you’re one of those people that are like “’waaa waaa all you do is draw bireena and none of the other mk characters’#or just something to that effect#don’t even ask me anything#THEY ARE MY COMFORT SHIP LEAVE ME BEEEEEE#I don’t mind branching out but if your way of asking me to draw more is passive aggressive#then I won’t do it#end of story#I’ve been actively posting my art since I was 13 years old I’ve been talked to like that PLENTY of times#😭 but anyway#feel free to let me know what you’d like to see more of#just without the y’know passive shit#yea that’s about it

Hello! I love all your AU's, and wanted to know if you still take animorph au ideas? I figured that you most likely have a big backlog of them and didn't want to add to it if they aren't wanted
Oh lord, I don't know. I guess? Like, the backlog thing is spot-on. As is the fact that I think I answer about 1% of the AU requests I receive, just because I get so many and so many of them are outside my expertise. So I haven't explicitly closed my askbox to AU requests, but I do have 6 in progress and want to try to finish at least 3 of those before I start any others.
Also: I think most people know this, but it takes me a long freaking time to write those AUs. I think my fastest-ever turnaround was about a week for the controller-Naomi one, and the slowest was over six years (!!!) for the Maximum Ride crossover. Most AU requests gotta stew for a couple months before I have an answer I like.
So like, if in the span of a month I get asks like "what if the Animorphs were in a world with no shrimp?" then "I guess my idea sucked, but I was wondering about an AU without shrimp" then "Sorry for bothering you but I had this idea about no-shrimp Animorphs" I will ctrl+F "shrimp" and delete every instance from my inbox. And then delete any half-drafts I might've started. Because that crap is demoralizing as hell. And it'd suck every iota of joy out of writing fan fiction if it could.
#animorphs#animorphs aus#about the blogger#sorry that isn't an answer one way or another#hopefully it clarifies things a little?#back when I had 5 outstanding au requests i could afford to spend a few months researching each one#now that i have [checks inbox] 300 outstanding requests#I gotta stick to those that i already feel qualified to write#which is an unhelpful standard for anyone wondering how to get a request filled - i am sorry about that#just please#please please don't send me passive aggression about unanswered asks#i get enough of that at my day job and if this blog starts feeling too much like my work inbox then i'll have to delete it

Why… do people who act like assholes… think they are victims when people approach them in good faith to do something harmless…
#Not tagging content? Valid. Your blog your rules. You are 100% in the right to outline and uphold that standard.#Not tagging content while following people who need and state trigger tags? And being mad at them when they ask?#Because you never set that standard out loud until enough people left so you can be the passive aggressive victim? You’re wild.#out of stories#negative //#To me it’s the ‘bro you followed them first you read their rules and decided you were above them you started this’#‘You’re not an asshole bc you don’t do something. You’re an asshole for not respecting your partners.’

Not a question, but I want to say I really admire your parents. A lot of children end up with parents that only invest in them if they follow set paths but it's clear that your parents love you unconditionally.
Yes, I’m an Ivy League graduate and nominally professionally successful but from the very beginning, I think my parents only really wanted me to be happy, and everything else was secondary.
And it was all very touch and go for a while, largely because of my history of violence against myself, but I made it out alive and now I’m genuinely happy and married with a little cat named Esther, and things are really good in my life despite the external world being in so much turmoil.
#answered#anonymous#family blogging#nice things#I hope this is nice and not passive aggressive anyways lol
