2017/02 Artist: Aizawa Kagetz

This art depicts a beautiful beach on the Samet Island located in Rayong province of Thailand. The scenery that Yuuri and the others are admiring is the crystal clear, transparent sea, stretching ahead to the horizon! That's the view that is on the opposite side, that is not drawn in this art, but I think it's fun to imagine that scenery, to feel as if we were watching the view together with them. It would be nice to go on a beach!

2017/03 Artist: Seki Minami

In this art, I wanted to capture the feeling of a warm day in Spring, that naturally makes your spirits high. The request from the Editor was 'The three of them close together', but I thought that Yurio would most likely act shy in such a situation... etc. - drawing them in-character was very fun, but also difficult. Victor is ruffling Yurio's hair, and I remember that I was trying very hard to find a way to make this gesture look soft and full of love... I'm happy that I get to draw Yurio and Makkachin, because I didn't draw them for the anime.

To make the props laying around the characters in this art 'Yuri!!!'-like, I added katsudons etc. as key-straps and stickers! What was difficult for me was to get distance between the three characters just right. I adjusted the composition to make Yurio not too far away from Yuuri and Victor, but at the same time not too close, too. I think that thanks to Makkachin and the cats around Yurio the distance between them appears closer! Personally, I very like Makkachin's face catching the wind, because it looks like a very pleasant experience.

The PASH! Illustration File 2021-2022 was released today in Japan!

I was really looking forward to it and can't wait to get my copy from amazon japan! ❤️❤️❤️ Customers have two options: they can purchase just the magazine alone, or they can get the magazine+tapestry of the MDZS cover art from Animate stores. From all the pics above (shared today by PASH! magazine, Animate stores & Mimifm official twitter accounts) we can tell there are at least 6 MDZS illustrations by GEAROUS, the official artist in charge of the MDZS audio drama art (Japanese version) I've been waiting for this for a while so I'm really excited about it, and about finally able to collect the remaining artworks that I didn't have since I had missed my chance to purchase a couple of Pash! issues in which they were released...

Hello! I am trying desperately to save money for college (starting this fall!), and so I’m selling a massive amount of my stuff. The PASH illustration file is only missing one poster, and contains full-page art from K project, Free!, Magi, and more. The Spoon magazines cover a lot of ground, from behind the scenes animation and production work to interviews with voice and stage adaptation actors. They’re all in Japanese, but even if you’re not fluent (I’m sure not) its cool to see all the concept sketches and stuff. All magazines are in fairly decent condition, although some are a bit battered on the outside, which is why I’m selling them for a lot less than I bought them for.

Here’s a quick flip through of the PASH Illustration File 2021-2022. It features WangXian art from GEAROUS on the front cover, and the back cover has 5 panel art of 3zun and WangXian.

There’s a lot of other contents but the flip through focuses only on the pages with MDZS art, and bonus sneak peek at TGCF art featuring Hualian which was part of the past issues of PASH ‘21-‘22

Part 2.

Are there any parts of the story your perception of has change now after the anime ended, compared to when it was airing?

Yuri!!! on ICE wasn't produced like standard animes, where the production begins after the scenario for all episodes has been written. Firstly, the storyboards for one episode drawn by Kubo-san were finished [the storyboards that mangakas draw are called "neemu"], and then transformed into anime via director's storyboards [the storyboards that anime directors/episode directors draw are called "ekonte"] and then we started working on animation to make the finished product. We repeated this process for each episode, so it was like creating the anime one step at a time. At the time when we were working on episode 1, I haven't yet seen storyboards [neemu] later than episode 5's, if I recall correctly? This is how "live" the production process was, so up until around episode 3, the staff members also were groping around for the right way to do things. Of course, the general plotline has been shared with all staff members, but we didn't know a lot about details concerning other characters. As the story progressed, you can see the contrast between Yuuri and Yurio, and their state of mind, as well as conflicts the other characters are facing. And as a result, with every new episode, the way I interpreted the story has been changing gradually. "I'll do what I can" - even if you failed once, it's not the end, it will turn into strength for the future - I started to think that this is the theme of this show. GuangHong who didn't make it to the Grand Prix Final, or Minami-kun, and other characters too - each of them carries their own story, and possibly they will shine in the future. From episode 10 onward, I was thinking about stuff like that, while I was working.

What did you think about the last episode, when you actually watched it?

I felt that last scene in St Petersburg, where Yuuri is running toward Victor, was really good. This show as a story has been completed, but for most characters it ended with this "the fight has just started" feeling. It was a finale that made you look forward to see what the future is like for Yuuri, Yuri and Victor, and the others.

PASH! Illustration File 2021-2022 was released today in Japan and omg!!! Pash! official twitter account shared so many pages!!! I started to wonder if they were going to just go and post the whole thing online XD XD I'm really happy about these illustrations of Fruits Basket, Heaven's Official Blessing and Vanitas!! I actually already own a couple of issues in which some of these were originally published, but I'm also missing some artworks, and having it all compiled in one book is awesome!
