The 1970s Atelier Palegre in Ponsas, southeast France is abubble house concept and the work of architects Pascal Hausermann and Claude Costy. This is a building that would stop anyone in their tracks. But it isn’t quite a house as it stands.

The building was designed as a ceramics workshop, and you can see is still laid out for that purpose. Described as a ‘large multi-purpose volume’, it currently operates as a workshop, storage room, exhibition room and point of sale for the ceramics produced here. But it doesn’t have to be like that. This one is on the market right now for €740,000.

Les maisons-bulles de l’architecte suisse Pascal Häusermann, installées depuis 1967 à Raon-l’Etape (Vosges), ont été adjugées vendredi à Epinal au prix de 360.000 euros, un montant trois fois plus élevé que lors de la vente aux enchères initiale, a-t-on appris vendredi de sources concordantes. »C’est le tout premier enchérisseur qui au final a remporté la mise, il les voulait absolument », a indiqué à l’AFP Bruno Tourmen, l’un des copropriétaires qui vendaient ces onze maisons…
