 Grace Meng is the Congressional Representative for New York’s 6th Congressional District, which covers parts of central and Eastern Queens, including Forest Hills. She is a member of the House Appropriations Committee; the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs.[10] As the first Asian American elected to Congress from New York, she often focuses on Asian American issues, including matters of commemoration and representation.[11] She also recently supported legislation to lower the federal voting age from 18 to 16.[12] She has been in office since 2013 and previously served as a New York State Assembly Member from 2009-2012.

 Melinda Katz is Queens Borough President. She’s also running for Queens District Attorney and recently won the endorsement of the Queens County Democratic Party.[13] As Borough President, one of her main priorities is the issue of school overcrowding.  Richard Brown is the Queens District Attorney. He recently announced that he will resign his post in June.[15] The major cases he has prosecuted include Heriberto Seda (known as the Zodiac killer) and the two men who committed the mass murder known as the Wendy's massacre.[16] He has been in office since 1991.

 Carl Heastie is the Speaker of the New York State Assembly. He has recently been involved in a number of issues related to the state budget, including coming out against public campaign financing,[17] expressing support for a pied-a-terre tax,[18] and suggesting raising the gasoline tax to pay for mass transit.[19]

 Andrea Stewart-Cousins is the Majority Leader of the New York State Senate. She has recently been in the news for appointing State Senator Mike Gianaris to the Public Authorities Control Board, which led to the company’s decision to cancel plans to build a second headquarters in Queens.[20] She is also among a group of lawmakers looking to tap into congestion pricing revenue to fund the Metro-North Railroad (“substantial changes are required to ensure our region’s interests are included,” she said in a joint statement.)[21]

 Scott Stringer is the New York City Comptroller. He is also tasked with issuing reports, including two recent ones on the strong state of the city economy[27] and an increase in the number of deportations conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the city.[28]
