sometimes i talk about the state of "rock bottom" being illusory and i am doing so in a grim conversation with a friend about my mental health currently so i made a diagram to illustrate my feelings there

having survived a gamut of situations including for a long time, ones where there are active attempts to ensure i do not survive, i have found it is always possible for things to get worse, forever, until the point in which i am no longer alive

however this means it is always possible for things to get better as well

now the tricksy nasty partses of this is that once i've climbed up a few levels, even if i actively know i am not at my all time lowest "rock bottom" threshold, my emotional state is not logical and cannot always be argued with by presenting compelling chart based evidence. so i feel like shit anyway.

now, previously, i have only asked for intervention level help once im sat on the rock bottom level. i do not feel like i am allowed to ask for help until i am at that point, and i have exhausted all individual level efforts. this is, i am aware, horseshit. i do not hold anyone else to this standard.

this is made complicated when i am sat like. 20 ish tiers above my historic rock bottom levels, my situation would need to drastically change for the worse to put me back there. but i do need help.

what do i do in that situation? i am finding that the answer is to talk about how i am feeling and see if it is possible to find the root cause. in this case, i am finding that the thing that's taking a catastrophic toll on my mental health in a way i cannot tolerate at this time is my immediate physical surroundings.

there's a lot to work through here but i am making this post to say if you are overwhelmed and everything seems like it can't possibly get worse rn, knowing that it can, can sometimes be helpful? knowing it can means it can always get better, too. even if we grimly have to climb our way out of the downfall chimney while using qwop controls.

Quick question for a non gear head.

Looking into a car an old friend is selling

2007 Suzuki Reno 4 cyl. 136,000 miles

they are selling it because the timing belt snapped while driving, they have purchased a new car and are selling the car for $300-$500. I am not into the concept of partsing out a car so i only want it if it runs, for my finances younger sister. the friend said a garage looked at it and says they have no clue if there is damage and said hey wouldn't know unless the belt is replaced. for whatever reason they are refusing to replace it before selling it.

is this worth the trouble for a potentially fucked engine?

A comic about an occurrence I had at my parents house last weekend.

I had a professor in art college that said a right of passage for every artist was a pin up, since it's a masterclass in human anatomy. I had always wanted to do one, but I struggled with the balance between sexy and pornographic.

I decided to take a different approach. I wanted to make a celebration of femininity and female friendship. So I did Raven and Starfire having a slumber party and makeovers (you know it was Starfire's idea.)

I like to draw in my Sketchbook when we play DnD and this was one of the sketches I did yesterday. Sometimes I take my sketches to paintings, sometimes they stay sketches. This one gets to see the light of the internet!

Thanks for the character suggestion! Astrid was very fun to do. Usually, when I do portraits, I more or less trace the positions and size of the features to make sure it's accurate. With the one, I only looked at the model (drawn on paper first, then brought into photoshop to paint.) It's not completely right, but close enough!

With my version, I drew that side first, from memory. Then I experimented with the colors. I kinda like it?

I have Alya and Anya drawn, I just have to paint them.

Hallo, dis is Svetlanna. She's a drow, looking for love. Bard in the streets, monk in the sheets.

She's an accomplished cobbler, and loves a nice sturdy pair of boots (preferably with blades in the soles). Svetlanna is a simple girl. She enjoys genuine compliments, random acts of kindness, and occasional slow human suffering. She's not particularly a fan of the sunlight or dogs.

Despite her appearance, she's not easy. She won't lay down with just any man. He really has to romance her, and earn it. Her high charisma happens to lure them in anyways.

Her mother, a Priestess of Lolth, instilled very important family values into her, like finding a very strong and capable (preferably wealthy) husband from good stock and having beautiful babies with him. Once her children are off into the world, and her husband has served his purpose (or he's a short lived species like an Orc or human) she will tenderly flay, draw and quarter, or eviscerate him.

She's looking for a 7th Mr. Right. Interested?
