Parks on Tap

Since May 17, Parks on Tap -- Philadelphia's one and only traveling beer garden! -- has been in full swing. In celebration of its second season, Parks On Tap has visited the neighborhood parks of Philadelphia in a major way: expanding to 20 locations throughout the park system, raising funds for the parks, and highlighting programming with multi-day residencies. 

Parks On Tap is bringing people together by the thousands this season to join in the outdoor festivities. Participating sites include the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, Columbus Square, Strawberry Mansion Bridge, and Gorgas Park, among many others.

This family-friendly environment -- dogs and all -- features local craft beers, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and a delicious barbeque selection. Guest are welcome to come take part in games, yoga, and live music on site to show their park pride. 

Parks On Tap's season ends October 1, so there is still time to check it out! Upcoming locations include Cliveden Park, Mt. Pleasant Mansion, Pretzel Park, Burholme Park, and Powers Park.

5 Reasons You Need to Visit Parks on Tap at FDR Park this Labor Day Weekend

This year, make the most of your Labor Day staycation by visiting Parks on Tap at FDR Park. The traveling beer garden will spend five days in the iconic South Philly park and feature some extra amenities to celebrate the holiday weekend!

1.  This edition of Parks on Tap features a FREE two-day-long music festival

On Saturday and Sunday, thirteen songwriters, artists and bands will be performing from 2 to 9pm at the free FDR Park Music Jam. Grab a snack, snag a hammock and enjoy the sounds of these phenomenal local musicians!

2.  You can rent bikes and boats from Wheel Fun Rentals

You’ll be steps away from Wheel Fun Rentals, an extra amenity that provides surreys, tandem bicycles, go-cart inspired bikes, pedal boats, kayaks, and more. 

Location: The FDR Park Boathouse Hours: Saturday, Sunday & Labor Day: 10am - Sunset

3.  You’re only a block away from the stadiums

Planning to attend a Phillies, Eagles or Temple game? Tailgate with us before or during any of these games, which are only a ten-minute walk away!

Thursday at 7pm: Eagles vs. Jets (pre-season)

Friday at 7pm: Temple vs. Army

Friday and Saturday at 7:05pm, Sunday at 1:35pm: Phillies vs. Braves

4.  A portion of all proceeds will benefit FDR Park

If you love FDR Park as much as we do, you’ll be happy to know you’ll be drinking for a good cause. Parks on Tap will be donating 50% of all proceeds directly back to the park during the FDR Park Fundraiser Happy Hour on Thursday from 5 to 7pm. Now your evening of fun can help to fund future improvements in the park!

5.  PPR’s own Patty Pat will be DJing on Thursday

DJ Patty Pat will be kicking off this weekend-long music festival by playing your favorite hits Thursday night from 5 to 8pm. PPR’s Commissioner of Fun will be sure to get the party started while you drink and dance the night away!
