synopsis: Heeseung has a soft spot for that girl from his uni for 3 years already. He tried almost everything to show her his feelings, but nothing seemed to work, she always kept him in the friendzone. Until the day he found himself being her shoulder to cry and her lips to kiss.

And the inspiration for this one was soft spot by keshi

3 damn year and fucking 40 days. That was the amount of time Heeseung had feelings for her. All of his friends asked him how that was possible. They told him to give up, that she didn’t deserve him, that if she didn’t value him, it was because she wasn’t the one. But he didn’t care. They didn’t know her like he did. They didn’t spend days and nights getting to know her like he did. Texting her, FaceTiming with her and hanging out with her even when he was tired or busy. “There are prettier girls out there”, they said to him, but they didn’t see how beautiful her soul was like he did. 

But in one thing they were right: either she was blind or stupid. Not that she wasn't nice to him or used him. But she didn’t seem to notice how much in love he was with her. Cause Heeseung did almost everything to show his feelings for her. He complimented her, he bought her gifts on special dates, he helped her with the uni assignments even though they attended different courses. Yes, Lee Heeseung, THE Lee Heeseung, who was the most respected guy among the english students, found himself studying bacterias’ names to help her with the Microbiology class. He also rejected all the tons of girls who threw themselves on him, stood his friends up to hang out with her during his free time, made acts of service for her, like tying her shoes, carrying her bag, opening doors, anything. He even got into the damn baking club!! It wasn’t the place for him, he only knew how to cook his precious ramyeon. 

Even so, nothing seemed to work. To make things even worse, she still had an on and off relationship with that piece of shit of Park Sunghoon. He was a hockey player. And he studied mechanical engineering. Ugh! Numbers and physics, only psychos liked that, right?  But that wasn’t the worst part of him. He insisted on never wanting to assume a serious relationship with her. And when she put too much pressure on him to do so, he kept flirting with all the girls who tried to hit on him, even when he was technically dating her. He didn’t deserve her. Heeseung would never put her through it. 

And the cherry on top of all that was everytime she found out he was flirting, or even hooking up with other girls, she got angry with Sunghoon, broke up with him, went to Heeseung’s shoulder to cry, got drunk, almost kissed him until the asshole of her ex texted her some shit apology text he copied from internet and she end up naked on the back of his car, with their situationship reestablished. 

In fact, they were half way through this ritual. She just had surprised Sunghoon fucking a girl from the soccer team on his dorm. As usual, she got mad at him “You’re unbelievable!” “Hold on, babe” he followed her till the corridor, still naked, and grabbed her arm “No!’ she pulled her arm “We’re over!” Hoon leaned on the doorway, crossed his arms and chuckled “You always say it and here we are back together again” “No. This time's for real. Don’t ever talk to me again” she looked inside the dorm and said to the girl wrapped on his sheets “You can keep him. I’m done with this shit” then she walked away from him  “Babe, wait…” he shouted, but she ignored, Sunghon was dead to her.

Now, of course, she had to text Heeseung and inform him she was coming over. This became such a routine that Hee already knew what have happened. Unfortunately, for her, he had a very long and tough day and passing through it was the last thing he wanted and needed. Although, it was too late for him to tell her that, cause he heard a knock on his door, and when he opened it, what he knew already was confirmed: he saw a girl with stained mascara, holding a paper bag full of different types of alcoholic drinks in there, and a broken heart. He couldn’t help but open his arms and force a gentle smile. “Come here” she entered his dorm and hugged her friend, leaving her tears on the fabric of his t-shirt.

For the past 2 hours Heeseung spent his night lying on the floor side by side with her, having to listen to the same old story about Sunghoon being with another girl, and how hurt she was because of it while they drank soju, bottle after bottle “But this time I told him there’s no coming back” “Did you?!” that was new “Yeah” she sipped the soju “I’m finally starting to accept I’m going to die alone” “What?” “I’m going to die alone” “No, you won’t” “Yes, I will. I mean, I have family and friends, yeah, but I mean romantically” “Why do you think like that?” “If I’m never enough for Hoon, who will ever think I’m enough?”. Hee’s blood started to boil “Excuse me, lady!?” he sat up “What?” “I can’t fucking believe on you!”

“Don’t make a big deal out of it, Heeseung. It’s the truth” “No, it’s not! You’re the most kind, smart and beautiful girl I’ve ever met. You are gentle and you care about your family and friends and even that asshole you called boyfriend! Every man should feel blessed to have you as his girl” “You don’t have to call Hoon an asshole” his jaw clenched and he felt the urge to stand up “Of course I have to! He is an asshole! I can’t believe that even after all the shit he put you through you’re still defending him. That man doesn’t deserve you. And the most unexpected thing was that he was stepping back, he tilted his head to the side so she wouldn't be able to kiss him “Look…” he took her hands out of his shoulders “I dream with the moment you would kiss me for 3 years already. But I don't want this to be like that. With you and me drunk, after you just broke up with your boyfriend, right after I just confessed to you. I don't want this to be an impulse mess, I want this to be perfect” “Well, I’m not perfect. I’m a mess! Do you still like me?” He smiled “I do like you, of course. The korean man sighed, then ran his fingers through his hair “I think you should go back to your dorm” she nodded “Ok” he walked with her to the door “Take care, ok?” “Yeah. Days passed, weeks passed, a month and a few weeks passed and still no news from her. They bumped into each other at uni sometimes but he got nothing more than a polite smile and a rhetorical “‘Sup, Hee?”. On her socials, she wasn’t very active either, she just posted stories wishing happy birthday to some friends and photos of the sky with a poetic caption. She even quit the baking club. 

“Maybe she finally decided to take care of herself” Jake said to Hee while they were shooting hoops “Yeah, I think so” Heesehung threw another ball, hitting the basket “You know, Jake, I’ve been thinking a lot lately” “About what?” “If I should wait for her” “Aren’t you already doing that?” “Yeah, for the past 3 years” “Are you thinking about giving up?” Jake tossed the ball, failing “I don’t know, maybe. She’s taking care of herself, moving on, maybe I should do the same” “Yeah, man! That same night, Heeseung texted Danielle and they agreed to go watch a movie at the end of the week. It was Saturday night, he took a shower, wore something casual , and of course, some perfume. He wasn’t going to lie, he was truly breedable. Put it wasn’t the point of the night, the point was to meet a new girl, to maybe see that she wasn’t in fact the one. Yeah, he could do it. Hee grabbed his phone and texted Danielle:

He took a deep breath, grabbed his phone, wallet and keys and opened the door, to find her standing there, holding a paper bag, radiating some kind of magnetic energy. When she saw Heeseung, she opened the brightest smile “‘Sup, Hee?” “Heya…” “Are you good?” “Yeah, I… Are you good?” “Yes! I’m feeling way better” “Good! I mean, that’s great! They had ice cream at an ice cream shop near campus. Hee ordered a strawberry milkshake and they shared it with 2 straws. Very cliche, very cringe. But they didn’t care, they had fun, it was the important thing. Then, they decided to walk around the campus, to watch the moon and the stars and to talk. They were holding hands, sometimes someone’s fingers brushed the others hand, sending shivers through all of their bodies. “What have you done during this time?” Heeseung asked, “A lot of things. I thought about things a lot, mainly. Including you” “Me?” “Yes. And I realized you were right” “About what?” “Sunghoon being an asshole who didn’t deserve me. Are you aware you just punched the main forward of the hockey team?” “Yes” “Are you into crackheads now?” he asked her “I will let this one pass cause I’m merciful today” “Come on, Hee. As Sunghoon was walking on the sidewalk of Korea feeling lethargic at the events that has been happening in his life. how his family decided to sell their family business that their grandfather had started from scratch. He was about to quit his tedious job that day but no his parents have to ruin it for him. He assumed that he would take over the business one day, which he has been working on since he was a teenager.

Sunghoon has always argued with his parents about how he can handle their business, that’s why he applied for a job as a right-hand man for one of the biggest companies in Korea to show his family that he can handle it. But at last.. they never did they never really put trust in him they always hesitated at the siltiest. saying his job is better them taking the family business that is just a burden to them. 

now feeling like his own family betrayed Him stopping in the middle of the sidewalk closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

“why does they always have to ruin everything” sighing at what has been happening in his life.

Until 

In the mids of his thinking. A woman bumped into him, making him groan at the sudden impact but stop as he smelled a perfume that smelled like his favorite dessert, sweet like cherry tiramisu.

He opens his eyes and sees the woman bowing infront of him 

“I’m so so sorry sir, I’m just really in a hurry for work!!” she said as she lifted her head. At that moment seeing her for the first time.

Their eyes met, they stared at each other and it seems like time stopped. A brief encounter, but Sunghoon thinks this was one of the most breathtaking and alluring encounter in his life. 

At that moment everything fades away It’s like all of his sorrow just wash away at the woman in front of him. A moment that surely he will never forget how he sees the light in her eyes sparkling as the light hit it. How her hair was softly falling on her shoulder by the fresh breeze of the wind. Her lips are as red as a cherry on top of a tiramisu. 

He took a deep breath and was about talk but-

A sound of a whistle was heard and stopped them in their heavenly moment. A guard was yelling at them to move away knowing this Sunghoon now just realize that there still in the middle of the road.

They both run at the side of the road and then look at each other and slowly as their cheeks beam at a red color for a brief moment then look away. Embarrassed at what just happened they were silent for a moment until Sunghon heard her scream as she realize that she was already late for work. She run and Sunghoon was about to run after her but she stop and turn around.

“Y/N.. my name is Jeon Y/N”

That was it the time he found his other half he smiled as she turn to run away but he shouted.

“Park Sunghoon! My name is Park Sunghoon!” 

He looked at her with the most extensive smile he ever has, and she looked back, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. at that moment, everything else faded away. There were only the two of them, and for the first time, a birth light took his heart. As she run they both knew they had found something special at a brief encounter. 

As the days goes by, as Sunghoon got to know about her name he was able to know about her work. realizing that they both work in the same company but in a different branch but that didn’t stop him from meeting her. as they meet again in the coffeeshop middle in both of their company 

As he was holding his tray with a coffee and cherry tiramisu on the side. he sees her typing at her laptop with a haft drink of matcha tea and a half-eaten hotteok. 

He takes a deep breath before approaching her and is greeted by the sweet smell of her cherry tiramisu-like perfume. He cough she stop typing on her laptop and was greeted by a smiling Sunghoon her eyes widen 

“We meet again,” Sunghoon said as he look at her a look that he has already been deeply in love with 

“Ohh park Sunghoon” Y/N said in her honey-like voice 

“May I sit” Sunghoon said with his deep yet smooth voice that she can’t help but make her heart beat faster.

As he sit infant of Y/N was already red as a cherry and this did not go unnoticed by Sunghoon even though half of her face was covered by her laptop. 

Y/N starts to close her laptop and looks at Sunghoon while biting her hotteok and drinking her matcha tea. everything was silent non of them was talking but is not awkward and unbearable silence between them, its was more of a calming silence between them a feeling of fresh coffee in the morning while looking at the morning sunrise.

Then “do you usually go here and have a cup of tea,” Sunghoon said as he look at her he can’t stop thinking. how her eyes spark and how she fans her long eyelashes while looking at him 

“Ohh no this was just my second time, my friend suggested to me this place that they have a great matcha tea,” she said in a shy voice. 

Thinking this she really loves matcha tea, smiling at this. She ask him the same question as he did but is already a well-known customer at this place that has a great cherry tiramisu cake.

That day was the starting point of their undying love story, as the months goes by Y/N would always go to that cafe and they would always meet. Sunghoon has never been happy in his life since he fell In love with only a brief encounter with how her bright personality caught his attention. His favorite is How she smiles at everything he talks about ranting, opening up, jokes. and most importantly confessing their love for each other. 

As times goes by Sunghoon finally confesses his feelings that he kept even though it’s noticeable how he always gives her a heart eye, both then actually. 

Years goes by there their love was the strongest it was timeless for the both of them. Even though there are troubles, challenges have happen they still find a way with their heart.

As she looked at the sunset, he was looking at her, and she looked back, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. In that moment the memory of them how they first met flashes as a wave of the ocean a memory of something worth holding on.

the breaking point for him was when he spotted you hyperventilating, crying even, and you were crouched right by your bedside. he had thanked his lucky stars that he made the decision to check in on you since you had holed yourself up in the room that day. his heart sank for the scene of you holding in your tears behind your hand was wrong, wrong, wrong. 

despite all silent treatment, he had grown soft for you and letting you suffer alone was definitely not an option. 

sunghoon had half-expected you to push him away, but he was taken aback when you had asked between sobs for a hug.

in that second, sunghoon had carried you to bed, drying the tears that stained your face. it took a while to get you to sleep, yet sunghoon never left your side. the intangible feeling building up in his chest unraveled, spiraling out of control. he was so full of love for you. 

turns out that you had spent countless nights lamenting the fact you were that gifted-burnout-child, crying yourself till you were tired. that also explained the dark eyebags and lack of energy you had on most days.

neither of you ever spoke of that incident, but since then things changed. sunghoon shouldn’t be surprised, but he can’t help the way you had opened up to him: all he had to do was be patient with you (a strong suit he prided on). 

you started being verbal about your needs, started relying on him more instead of shouldering your burdens. and as usual Sunghoon would be that grounding presence, keeping you company. he’d sneak you your favorite foods even though you were on a diet, he’d hold you to sleep on days you couldn’t, he’d take you home as soon as he saw signs of being tired. 

somehow the last straw that made him fall in love with you was when you⁠—in your tired haze⁠—told him, sincerity lacing your sleepy voice, “sunghoon, no words can describe the immense amount of…love i have for you. i love you.”

first kiss with sunghoon

a/n: so @most-ment sent me a prompt list and asked for something and i did it in a span of twenty minutes or so. It'snot proofread but i do hope you enjoy it.

“Have you ever thought about how it would feel?” you ask your best friend, Sunghoon as you turn to face him.

“Finally passing math? Yeah, it would be great. My parents would be proud of me” he responds and you promptly hit him on his head.

“Not that, you twat. I’m talking about kissing. How would it feel to kiss someone? What if their mouth smells? Or if they bite your tongue? It would be so embarrassing” you groan and bury your head in the crook of his shoulder.

“You’re overthinking it. But the mouth odour thing makes a valid point though. Why are you even asking me? I’m just as inexperienced as you,” he says and shoves you off his shoulder. Jerk. You scowl at him and he returns it with his tongue stuck out. Suddenly, you get a bright idea and turn to face Sunghoon with earnest eyes.

He shakes his head once he sees the look on your face. “No, no and no! I know that look. That’s when you’re thinking of doing something stupid. And you always drag me along into your stupid schemes. I’m not doing it.” he says indignantly and you quickly scoot up next to him.

“Just think about what I’m going to say. Please, it makes sense” you beg and he nods carefully, pushing you away regardless. Sunghoon didn’t like it when you showed him too much physical affection and you didn’t when he showed too little.

“Go ahead but I will flick your forehead if it’s a dull idea,”

“Let’s have our first kiss with each other.”

“The heck? No,” he answers promptly with a flick to your forehead.

“Wait! Think about it. It makes more sense economically to make out with me. And besides, it will improve the quality of the environment” The unimpressed look on his face doesn’t disappear and you frown sightly. “It would be better to have it with you, at least I trust you”

“What makes you think I want to have mine with you”

“Who else is going to kiss you if not me?” you tease and you can see him stiffen up. “Come on Sunghoon, let’s just try it. If we don’t like it, we can forget it ever happened. And hey, you can always say you never lost your first kiss. But please, I want mine to be with you bro. I trust you enough to do it with you. I don’t want to give it to a clot that doesn’t like me”

“Why would you even kiss someone that doesn’t like you?” he asks quizzically and you sigh.

“Let me test my skills on you. Pretty please with wrapped in lettuce and stuffed far down your throat?”

“That’s psychopathic” he comments and you throw your hands up in exasperation.

“Park Sunghoon! Please, I beg you. For three seconds and then we’ll stop”

“Fine” he finally agrees and you throw your arms around him but he removes them after a few seconds of you enjoying it.

“Loosen up a little”

“This is as loose as I can get, don’t push it, sweets”

A few minutes later, after Sunghon gathered enough moral courage to look you in the eye, you are ready to kiss him. “I’m sure you’re excited to finally lose your first kiss,” you say and look over to Sunghoon. Sunghoon does not look ecstatic, he looks nervous. “You can back out Park if you’re having second thoughts. No hard feelings, I promise”

He shakes his head at your statement and loos at you with an intimidating gaze before beginning, “I’ll do it… I want to do it”

You nod in excitement and set the timer to three seconds. You don’t trust Sunghoon enough to come to you so you pull him close instead. Your lips touch and surprisingly, his lips feel soft. He moves his a bit and you try to follow what he’s doing. In the background, the timer goes off.

You both pull away feeling flustered and Sunghoon’s ears have a tint of pink on them. Your hand drops but is still interlocked with his so you quickly pull it out.

“So, how was it?” you ask him and he clears his throat and doesn’t look you in the eye.

“I liked it,” he admits and you smile. You liked it too, the same way you like him a little.

“It felt great”

“Can we do it again?” he asks and your eyes snap up to meet his. Do it again? Kiss him again? Now it’s your turn to get flustered. “Oh no, it’s okay if you don’t want to!” he says, his voice sounding a tad bit higher.

“No” you announce, a bit too hastily. “I want to do it again, kiss you, I mean”

“Me too. I want to kiss you again too”

This time, you ditch the timer and you’re stuck in front of Sunghoon, staring directly into his eyes. He bends his face and you do the same again. Now, when your lips meet, it feels better. His lips are still soft and somehow your hands are interlocked again. You forget to breathe for a second before you pull back quickly. Immediately, you gasp for air with your hand still in his.

“That was great,” you tell him. That was awesome, it was incredible. It’s better for me to lose my first kiss with you, my best friend than to anyone else. Especially because you’re even the person I like.

Sunghoon closes his eyes and rests his forehead on yours but doesn’t say anything about the kiss. Later, his head moves to your shoulder where it states with your hands still joined together. You let Sunghoon take his time regaining himself on you and don’t say anything.

“Kissing someone you like feels incredible, I’m glad I kissed you Y/N. I’m glad you wanted to kiss me”

“If that’s your way of saying you like me, you need to work on it. But I enjoyed kissing you too Park” you say and shut your eyes, not forgetting to slightly squeeze the person’s hand that is still with yours.

A selection of photos of my favorite Park Sunghoon. God, I like him so much, and most of all I like him because of his biography. To be honest, I started following him 4 years ago (when he was a figure skater). When I first saw him skating, to put it mildly, I was shocked by how gracefully he skates on rih. In that performance, he literally soared like a butterfly, and as if he was flying, as if wings were attached to the skates, it was amazing and unforgettable. When I-Land started, I was in a pleasant shock, because there was a Sunghoon. When the composition of the new band from HYBE ( Enhypen ) was announced I was very happy, because there were participants who I liked the most, and for whom I voted more. Of course , after that , Park Sunghoon became my bias. To this day, he is my ult-bias ❤️❤️❤️. Love you, Park Sunghon 💕
