Apple orchard, Trinity Jersey used to be an island of orchards, most of which have sadly been lost over time. Recently though I’ve noticed more and more being planted, some definitely courtesy of @thecidermakerswife at La Robelline Cider. I think some have been planted by Jersey Heritage who have a project to preserve some of the original Jersey species of cider apples. Jersey cider is delicious, I am especially fond of Branchage by @lamareestate and have it as a treat every now and then. Fields of gold, Trinity A shot from last night’s after work walk. These fields looked absolutely spectacular! As we walked up the other side of the valley I realised a couple of the houses would have an amazing view straight onto the fields but I couldn’t get a good view from anywhere but here. Jersey feels like Daffodil Island at the moment. I don’t know if there have been more daffs planted this year or they are just all out at once or I’m noticing them more but they’re everywhere! Walking in the last of the day’s light, that’s about 16:45 at the moment. It’s been a beautiful day, perfect for walking all day abs it’s frustrating being stuck at work and unable to enjoy it. However, I dashed back from work so that we could have a quick 20 minute walk, see some daylight and feel some fresh air and get some steps in for the day. It was well worth it. Holy Trinity Church, Trinity This is the parish church for Trinity. There are 12 parish churches in the island as well as several other Christian churches, a mosque and a synagogue. There are also several church buildings that have been converted to housing. The churches are all historically significant and uses to be the place to store ammunition when the island had a working militia in each parish. One of my new favourite island activities happens around Christmas in the western parish churches and I’m really hoping that it will go ahead within the social distancing rules this year - fingers crossed! I think I posted about it last year - it was so much fun! After a tough day at work for both of us the last thing I wanted to do was cook dinner so we took a quick walk to refresh ourselves and get some air, which turned into a walk to the pub, which turned into dinner at the pub! The evening light along the Trinity back lanes looked lovely, Autumn really is a beautiful season. Little accidental hike along part of the north coast today. The nights are drawing in so there’s not much time after work to get out so I thought I’d make the most of today’s sunshine. Thought I’d go and look at the view but ended up walking about 2K along the coast path.
