Your next stop was the island of Thrinacia, where you found a crying cyclops.

"Excuse me, if I may ask, why are you crying?" You ask, standing in front of the cyclops.

Decided to remake Athena so that she would look more like her other daughters rather than an Ariel clone. Since Triton had red hair as child I decided to give Athena the same shade of brown as Attina and Aquata. This explains Aquata, Attina and Adella's hair.

In my mind, she has one parent with black hair and another with brown hair... this explains Alana's black hair and Adella's darker shade of brown.

I am guessing that Ariel, Arista and Andrina all have their hair from Triton's side of the family.

I changed the tail colour to be the same as one of the comics where we see her tail. I changed the eyes to match her daughters. I also mixed Attina and Alana's hair together. I decided to not add a crown because Ariel doesn't wear hair accesories.... in my head canon, it's something Ariel got from her mom... they both don't like hair pieces.

Andrina and Alana are Ariel’s favorites amongst her sisters! Andrina is very athletic and Ariel always gets a rush of excitement whenever she sees Andrina racing on the back of her seahorse. When they were younger, she used to always ask Andrina how to do backflips and, ultimately, Andrina was the one who taught Ariel who to swim at top speed. Ariel also finds Andrina to be the funniest of her sisters. Alana, on the other end of the spectrum, is the gentlest. Ariel often wished she had more of Alana’s temperament and admired how kind she was. Alana had the grandest garden of all the mermaids and spent her days healing injured sea-turtles she found on the ocean floor and reuniting lost marine animals to their families. Ariel would give anything if she could share her secret grotto with Alana, as Alana’s eye for detail and her green thumb would help balance out some of Ariel’s disorganization in the, sometimes, cluttered space. 

Aquata and Adella are Ariel’s least favorite sisters. She admires Aquata, as the eldest who assumed the matriarchal position, but she finds Aquata stuffy and even her predisposition to ballet is something Ariel finds inhibiting. Again, while she admires how regal Aquata is and the power she effortlessly commands, Aquata is the closest to Triton and he entrusts her the most so Ariel’s always viewed Aquata as just another parent she has to hide from and avoid at all costs. Adella, on the other hand, isn’t actively disliked by Ariel but Ariel can’t connect to her at all. Adella is the vainest of her sisters, and is the most aloof- always in front of her mirror, trying to figure out a new way to style her hair. She doesn’t really have any friends amongst the other sisters and enjoys spending all of her time admiring her own reflection. 

Attina and Arista are definitely mid-tier to Ariel, which is appropriate as they’re the middle children. Attina, personally, has one of the most interesting designs to me. She can hit the highest notes out of any of the mermaid princesses, which Ariel’s energy to is very “good for her.” However, the part Ariel connects to, is that Attina is the reader of the group and a very skilled playwright! She one time found a way to integrate the songs Sebastian had written for the sisters to perform at a gala into a play she had been working on, so both could be enacted as compliment to each other! Arista, I always thought was among the most beautiful as a child, but she’s the brashest and rudest of the sisters, in Ariel’s opinion. She always ruins Ariel’s vibe and seems the crabbest, always saying the exact thing to dampen Ariel’s mood/spirit. Even when they get along, it’s just ultimately felt that they weren’t meant for each other.

How does it feel to be the gods' favorite? That's a question you could ask JEFF Triton, who found himself in the bed of not one, not two, not three, but seven different gods. And for each of these encounters, there was a smiling young demigod born, blessed by the gods and gifted with their talents.

It was a rite of passage in the Triton family to go to Camp Swynlake, one that young Aquata looked forward to all her life. She always had her older sisters to protect her, so going to camp was less about fleeing monsters and more about being just like them— being able to fight them too, even!

Aquata's happiest times were at Swynlake. Sure, a war broke out when she was fourteen, but Aquata looks back on those memories fondly, remembering fighting alongside her half-siblings and defeating the Titans. As a child of Nike, winning is everything to Aquata.

It's so important to her, actually, that it became her whole job. She'd always trained hard at swimming, waking up early each morning at camp to do laps around the lake and report her training regiment to her dad and coaches back home (the story was always that she was at an elite swim camp in the country, so Aquata had to come back looking like it). She first made the Olympics in 2016, and she set her first world record in 2020. Tokyo was about racking up gold after gold, just like a true child of Nike.

2024 was a different story. There was a new generation of swimmers now, kids fresh out of uni who snatched up the gold medals Aquata had thought she would easily defend. In her best event, the 400m butterfly, Aquata took home bronze. On the relay, her team didn't even place.

RP RESOLUTIONS AND HABITS

Write your RPer Resolutions for 2024! (What are some goals for yourself as a writer? Improve descriptions? Plot with more members? Etc.)

Reading more! And not just RP stuff, but all kinds of stuff— fiction, nonfiction, fanfic, blogs, the news... but ALSO I would like to get better at keeping up with the dash. I think reading makes you a better writer and I actually do think I did a lot more of this in 2023 but I want to do it even more in 2024.

Follow-through, organization, keeping track of interactions and relationships (I know I put a version of this on every RP resolutions lmfao) There are so many great one-off interactions I have that I simply forget to follow-up about and then months go by and I'm like oh YEAH these characters interacted and it was great WHY did I let so much time go by without doing something new?!?!? Maybe there's a way to incorporate this into my tracker or something idk. I don't have a great solution here other than just being more mindful when I close stuff but I really do want to get better at this.

Quality over speed: I think sometimes I get so excited about putting something out in the world, whether it's a oneshot or a task or a reply to a thread, that I speedrun it when it might benefit from marinating a little longer. I'd like to slow down and smell the roses more this year!

Phineas: I want him to fail in some way! I think that'd be interesting to explore this year because things are going pretty well for him rn all things considered.

Tiana: Last year I talked about getting tempted by fame and fortune, this year I think I might actually be able to put it into motion! So I'll second that. Generally also just want to make sure I'm keeping up with some older relationships of hers, knights and stuff like that.

Aquata: Move her toward my goal of being involved in sports management stuff (y'know what she went to school for lol) with her work at the gym! Would also like for her to reckon with political stuff and what she's accomplished/hasn't accomplished on Board

Bruce: I hate to do this but I genuinely can't I'm sorry!!! But lots of growth and reflection and big decisions, that's all I wanna say at this point.

Anastasia: Introduce a new challenge with parenting Levi! I'd also like to delve a little more into her desire to get remarried because she's struggling with single parenting I think more than she expected to and I've written some stuff on that theme lately that I've really enjoyed.

Tanya: I haven't kept this a secret, she's gonna move on </3 But first I want her to get to a satisfying place in her relationships, which means working out her weirdness toward the Snow Quartz situation LMAO, maybe getting some closure with Penny, maybe open up a bit more about her past with Mim, stuff like that.

Mirabel: Get a little messy and #gayotic— she and Alice got into a monogamous relationship right off the bat and now I think it's time for her to explore. I feel like I kicked this off with Candace and now Penny but I want more stuff like that. Confront more of how she really feels about her history, and some family stuff that is #spoilers.

Lightning: I want to keep building toward him becoming a better person and rebuilding his relationship with Cruz! This year I also want to be better about portraying what's going on in the racing world because it's important and I sometimes let that fall by the wayside. I've realized in ruminating on his failures in his love life that he may need a female friend to tell him women's perspectives on things (sorry if that's reductive but he genuinely doesn't have any his own age and I think it would help him a lot LMAO)

Smee: Be a bad influence on the town's youth :D

Roz: Flesh out her relationships with Karen and Randall, maybe do some flashbacks??? I'd definitely like to do more RAS stuff with her, but also some regular situations where she draws on her RAS training. I think the big challenge with Roz is always Putting Her In Situations because she is an introverted/quiet character and you gotta be intentional with that sometimes so they don't stagnate.

Queen Clarion - I feel like we GOTTA throw her and Aquata together!!! I don't have a strong idea on this also but maybe something with Phineas because 1. he's a buffoon lmfao and 2. idk something to do with Fawn lol

Talk a bit about your plotting style – what plots are you most drawn to? Do you prefer to come with a fully-formed idea and plot off that, or throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks?

Plots I am drawn to!!!

I am generally pretty open-minded! I do a lot of silly little slice of life plots, hence my army of Mundus characters lmfao. I sometimes struggle with more intense lore-heavy plots but if you have an idea I am always down to clown just let me know what you need from me. I think I said last year that my genre is a sitcom episode (which doesn't mean there can't be drama and tears and magic!) because I am frequently very lighthearted but I like when things have a bittersweet emotional core. I like romance and shipping but I think my plots tend to more often be about friendship and family just because I write what I know and those are the big things in my life right now haha.

Also bears repeating from last year I think— I don't do smut but I'm always down for a steamy plot as long as we can fade to black or zoom out for the actual deed if that makes sense (I don't mind if we describe how the Scenario went, I just don't really want to get into the nitty gritty details basically). I think there is a lot of interesting stuff that happens around those situations and I'd love to explore that!

I also write a lot of fights and conflict and morally questionable characters, so as always, please feel free to come talk to me if an interaction is going an uncomfortable direction for whatever reason! At the end of the day this is supposed to be fun and I really want to make sure my partners are always having fun <3

Plotting style!!

I am a big fan of just throwing characters together to see chemistry vibes, especially if they have some interesting thing that connects them. This doesn't always lead somewhere groundbreaking, but sometimes it can be a good foundation and since my rping background before this was with a very plot-light group, I still like to use those improv muscles every now and than! So if we're in a thread like that and it's starting to stall sometimes I like to throw in a Quirky Situation lol.

With that in mind, PLEASE always feel free to let me know if you're not comfortable with the direction of something and we can retcon/walk it back/pause until we figure out the right direction! I hope that doesn't sound scary lol when I say "twist" I literally just mean like idk maybe my character suddenly spills their drink or maybe they say something goofy but I'd never want to ruin a thread for someone with something like that so yeah I am always flexible!!

ALL that being said, I am also always down to plot something out very specifically, whether it's a big arc or just a minor silly thing. Please don't feel like you need to have a fully-fleshed idea to approach me— I am always down to brainstorm. Sometimes I might ask if you have something in mind but if you don't that's totally okay! I just like to ask before I start taking over haha. I know I will frequently approach people like "hey I had this idea and I'm not totally sure how to accomplish it but if you're down to brainstorm...." and tbh sometimes I may ask if we can pause so I can noodle on something but again that's not due to a lack of enthusiasm that's just because sometimes my brain needs some time to marinate on an idea

Talk a bit about character relationships – what relationships are you most drawn to? How do you prefer to approach shipping (if at all!)? What, specifically, are you looking for right now for your character relationships? 

As I mentioned before, I write a lot of friend stuff and a lot of family stuff! I like when that stuff is complicated, when maybe communication has broken down or people struggle to understand each other or hurt each other even though there is love there. But I am also very happy with sweet chill relationships and I enjoy those greatly <3 I also write a lot of enemies! I'm very drawn to rivals and stuff that exists in kind of a gray area. I think it's fun when characters are wrong about each other or let their judgments and biases get the better of them.

I'm also down for a good ship! Ngl I tend to lean toward short-term stuff or at least relationships that change a LOT— I've never really done an endgame ship and I'm not opposed to them at all but I just don't have a lot of experience there! Honestly to me if a relationship is interesting I'll probably find it interesting whether they're together or broken up or friends or whatever. I always say this but I definitely need to be less shy about saying so when I ship something bc I tend to be a little shy lmaooo. But I promise I will never be offended if you don't ship something that I've said I do, as I've said we're all just here to have fun and I wanna work together to make a plot that works for both of our characters <3

LIGHTNING LEARNS TO RESPECT WOMEN MORE

LIGHTNING attends a panel at Pride U on women's history month as a way to try and become more #educated and to help him on his #journey. Afterward, he approaches one of the panelists, QUEEN CLARION, and puts his foot in his mouth by trying to flirt with her.

HERA, overhearing the conversation, remarks that he's incapable of having a conversation that doesn't go a flirty direction, which he disagrees with. They make a bet.

To test the bet, they go to Pixie's. They relay the story to MARLIN, who is skeptical of Lightning but also offers some helpful tips about royal fairy protocol.

On the walk home, LIGHTNING and HERA actually have a deeper conversation about how LIGHTNING'S attitude is harmful. He confesses some of his reasoning for acting the way he does, but vows to do better.

Taking what he learned from HERA, LIGHTNING approaches CASS to apologize for how their date went. She quickly declines the idea of another date, but he clarifies he's just here to apologize— and they discuss whether they can eventually be friends.

At another town event, LIGHTNING once again runs into QUEEN CLARION and says something stupid— but this time, he remembers what MARLIN told him and manages to salvage the interaction.

He relays the whole story on a run with DOC, who rags on him but is ultimately proud of him.

MUN: S! We loved Willow’s Little Shop of Horrors-inspired plot this month, just in time for Spooky Season. S’s creativity never fails to blow us away, whether it’s her unique plots, her amazing creations in the #arts-and-crafts channel, or her frankly incredible memeing abilities. Yay S! CHARACTER: TANYA! There are two reasons Tanya gets character of the month. One, it was October and she’s a ghost. And two, more importantly, she’s taken some massive strides this month and her story is reaching a point where we’re all ready to grab the tissue box. Tanya’s really come a long way! THREAD: CAS FORTUIT || TOFI & MOON! This thread has everything– drama, political intrigue, complicated histories between two powerful characters. Members were on the edge of their seats for this one, and we couldn’t agree more. TASK: BOTH OF WOLF’S TASKS! Shoutout to L for taking on both tasks with Wolf this month! Wolf’s Evil Twin task gave us another fascinating peek into his family history and what could have been, while “Der kapitän” gave us all the feels. As one member put it, “L really used not a lot of words to convey so much story telling, really set the scene and really got me invested in Wolf and the Captain’s relationship.” Nice work!

Under the radiant daylight, the port of Farfield stirred with a vibrant energy, a kaleidoscope of colors and life. The air was filled with the salty aroma of the sea, and the bustling atmosphere resonated with the harmonious symphony of sailors, merchants, and fantastical creatures coexisting in harmony.

Amidst this lively spectacle, the majestic ship "Farfield Hope" stood proudly at the dock, its sturdy hull glistening in the sunlight. Sailors of various races and creatures worked side by side, their camaraderie a testament to the unity that Farfield's port embodied. Elves with pointed ears and graceful movements, dwarves with nimble fingers and sturdy frames, and creatures of fantasy, from gentle centaurs to mischievous pixies, collaborated in a harmonious dance of preparation.

Alden and Elara, their faces etched with determination, carried their packs onto the ship, their footsteps purposeful. Elara, her worry for their children etched on her face, voiced her concern in a hushed tone, "Alden, I can't help but worry about Twig and Leaf. They're so young to face such danger."

Alden, his eyes reflecting the same concern, gently took Elara's hands in his own. "I worry too, my love. But they're strong, and they have each other. We've raised them well. They will find their way, just as we did."

On the dock, King Roderick stood tall, his eyes following the ship with a mix of pride and apprehension. He raised his hand in a gesture of farewell, his voice carrying across the water, "May the winds be at your back and the seas be gentle, my friends. Bring back hope and safety to our kingdom."

As the ship set sail, Aquata, her eyes shimmering like the depths of the ocean, channeled her magical prowess. With a wave of her hand, she called upon the tides, guiding the waters to caress the ship's hull. The Farfield Hope responded to her magic, gliding forward as if guided by an unseen force.

The ship embarked on its journey, its sails billowing with the winds of destiny. The Kingdom of Farfield faded into the distance, and the adventurers sailed westward, toward the realm of the Merpeople. In the boundless expanse of the sea, hope sailed with them, a beacon lighting their path through the unknown. As they journeyed, the sun set behind them, casting a warm, golden glow upon the ship's wake, a testament to the courage and unity that set sail upon the Farfield Hope.

Amidst the vast expanse of the sea, as the Farfield Hope cut through the waves with a determined grace, a sailor approached a cask of water, his thirst beckoning him forward. Anticipation filled the air as he reached for the lid, ready to quench his parched throat. However, to his surprise, the cask thumped and wobbled before tumbling over, spilling its contents across the deck.

From within the fallen cask, like playful nymphs emerging from a magical wardrobe, tumbled Twig and Leaf, their faces flushed with excitement and mischief. Leaf, her eyes alight with amusement, quipped, "Well, Twig, I suppose our cask wasn't as roomy as we thought!"

Twig, chuckling despite his circumstances, retorted, "Roomy? I barely had space to breathe! We must have picked the smallest cask in the whole kingdom!"

Alden and Elara, their parental concern mingled with a hint of exasperation, scolded their adventurous children. "You two are supposed to be safely back in Farfield," Elara chided, her tone a mixture of reproach and affection. "What possessed you to stow away?"

Undeterred by the scolding, Leaf, her eyes twinkling mischievously, teased her brother, "Well, Twig, it seems you've found your nerve if you're stowing away on ships now. Who knows, maybe you'll discover your magic power by the time we reach the Merkingdom!"

Twig rolled his eyes, his sister's jests bringing a smile to his lips despite the situation. "Or perhaps I'll just find the talent of being a professional barrel tumbler."

The scene on the deck was one of unexpected camaraderie and resilience. Despite the initial scolding, a sense of unity permeated the air. The ship plowed through the waves, its three masts standing tall against the backdrop of the boundless sea. Sea-spray kissed the deck, and playful dolphins leaped alongside the ship, their sleek forms dancing in the sunlight.

Hope hung in the air like a tangible presence, weaving through the ship's wake and mingling with the laughter of the twins. The sea, with all its mysteries and challenges, became a canvas upon which their courage was painted, a testament to their unwavering determination.

As the Farfield Hope sailed forth, leaving a trail of foamy white in its wake, the scene exuded a sense of hopefulness. The unexpected passengers, now part of the ship's crew, faced the unknown with a blend of courage and humor. The future, though uncertain, held the promise of adventure, friendship, and the discovery of untapped potentials. In the heart of the vast sea, amidst the playful dance of dolphins, the travelers found solace in the bonds they shared, embracing the hopeful voyage that lay ahead.

Aquata smiled sadly. She appreciated the thought, but she wasn't sure it was really the best use of his secret agent resources.

"There isn't really anywhere for me to visit. My parents moved here before I was born, to protect us. We go down to Bournemouth in the summer to get closer, but I don't even know where I'd go if I could visit the sea where my parents are from. We're just not really connected to it anymore. It's sad, I know."

Aquata was quiet for a moment, and then she laid her head on James's shoulder. "But thank you. It's a nice offer."

The Grandchildren of Triton

Years ago, I did an article about some fan-made grandchildren of Triton, excluding Melody, of course. However, I was going off the bull crap logic and "continuity" of the terrible prequel, The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning. Instead, I'm going to be basing this off the personalities I've given the daughters of Triton in another article I did, which includes the age order of Aquata being the oldest daughter of Triton. I take into account the TV series, like I did with Arista's personality and Adella's design, because it is a faithful and worthy prequel to The Little Mermaid. The way this is going to work is that I will talk about the oldest daughter of Triton's children first and go in order of age of the daughter of Triton instead of by age of the grandchild so that no one gets confused about which child belongs to which of Ariel's sisters. Along with this, I will be including a fan-made son of Ariel and Eric at the end. Melody won't be included because she's an already existing character with an established personality and I'm doing this over fan-made characters and telling you the personalities I created for them. Some siblings will be included in one picture just because I felt like it. I hope you guys like it and let me know what you think in a respectful way.

Aquata's Children:

Prince Poseidon (Age 15)

The oldest grandchild of King Triton, the older twin brother of his sister Athena, and second in line for the throne of Atlantica after his mother. He was named after his great-grandfather, King Poseidon, Triton's father. He is a very serious young merman that is pretty bossy to both his sister and his cousins, much to their annoyance. He wants to do his best to be a great king someday and to fulfill his duties as a prince as well as he possibly can. He acts a lot like his grandfather and can be a bit hotheaded. He's responsible, smart, a bit of a nag, and kind of stiff but can be fun when he loosens up. His greatest fear is letting everyone down because as the second in line for the throne after his mother and the oldest grandchild of Triton, he has to set an example for the kingdom. He often puts more pressure on himself than he needs to, despite that his parents and grandfather have tried to tell him not to worry so much and to enjoy life. He often bumps heads with his twin sister because of how completely different they are. Despite how he can be annoying to his sister and cousins, he really cares about them and they care about him. His dedication to being a worthy ruler one day is undeniably impressive, but he still has a lot to learn before that happens and not just the things he believes to be important. He acts very much like Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Jane from Return to Neverland, and Shang from Mulan.

Princess Athena (Age 15)

The twin sister of Poseidon, the oldest granddaughter of King Triton, and named after her late grandmother. Just like her brother, her looks are a combination of both her mother and her grandmother, even their hair is a combination of the colors of Aquata and Queen Athena's hair. She is very much like her grandmother. She is fun-loving, a little bit of a prankster, loves music, and is very caring. However, she doesn't take her duties as a princess seriously and would actually prefer to live the life of the commoners rather than be a princess. She prefers the simple things in life. Much like her Aunt Ariel, she is very fascinated by the world above. She is the cousin that Melody is the closest to, due to them both being very different from their peers, not conforming to the norm, and being very adventurous. She is close with her mother, but is often told that she needs to learn how to be serious because she is a princess. However, she doesn't see why she should when she's never going to be queen, which she is perfectly happy about. She isn't a conventional princess but doesn't go out of her way to be rude or disrespectful to rebel against traditions at all. She wants to find her own path and discover who she is meant to be. She thinks she might even find herself if she became human like her Aunt Ariel did, if only for a while to see how she likes it. However, she still considers the possibility that where she belongs might be in the sea, but wants to try out being a human on land because if she never tries it she'll never know. She does get into fights with her brother but there is a lot of love between them. Her personality is a lot like Tinkerbell (In the CGI movies) and Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender. She incredibly close with her fun-loving Aunt Adella, who never judges her and just wants her to be happy.

Andrina's Children:

Prince Kai (Age 11)

He is very athletic like his Aunt Aquata, don't ask what kind of sports he does because I don't know what kind of sports there would be under the sea for merpeople. He's always moving around and has a hard time settling down. He's active, kind, smart, resourceful, a little reckless, and slightly cocky. He tries to be the best at what he does but will get in over his head sometimes but will learn from his mistakes. He is very close to his Aunt Aquata and his younger brothers. He is a little bit of a prankster, particularly when it comes to pulling tricks on his cousin, Poseidon. He's very easy going and sometimes doesn't take things too seriously, kind of like Baloo from Disney's Jungle Book and Timon from The Lion King, only more physically active and not as lazy.

Prince Ray (Age 8)

He is a very positive and joyful person, like a little ray of sunshine. He is a lot like his Aunt Adella, except he has more self-control than she does. He loves music and dancing and takes any opportunity he can to play music, sing, and dance. He is very sensitive, creative, kind, caring, smart, energetic, fun-loving, goofy, and poetic. He does sometimes fight with his older brother because of their differing personalities and interests but they are still very close. He is also very close to his younger brother and his Aunt Adella. He's a very happy go lucky kid but can get really depressed or angry when he's pushed far enough. He tries to deal with it with his music so he doesn't hurt anyone but sometimes he can't help but let out his anger. He's a lot like Emery from the show Fresh Off the Boat. He's a dork but an adorable and fun one.

Prince Gil (Age 5)

Despite being the youngest of all the grandchildren of Triton, he is actually very mature for his age. He takes after his mother because of how sarcastic, brutally honest, sassy, and blunt he is. He's very clever with his comments, like something you'd expect from an adult rather than a child (But nothing dirty because it is Disney) and can be very shocking at times. He will often point out when someone is being stupid and when the bad results he knew would happen actually happen he says, "Gee, I wish someone had pointed that out. Oh, wait! I did!" and is annoyed that no one listens to him because of his age. I've just always loved when the youngest sibling is the smartass for two reasons. The first being that I'm the youngest of three an have always been a smartass ever since I was around ten or eleven-years-old. The second reason is that I just love the idea of such smartass comments coming from someone so young (Even at the age of five) and showing you shouldn't underestimate someone just because of their age. However, he still acts like a normal kid, despite being mature for his age. He will get mad and have a tantrum as any five-year-old would. He does love to have fun and play with kids his own age. He is very close to his older brothers. Not only is he the one that is the most like his mother out of all three of her sons, but he is also the one that looks the most like her out of the three.

Arista's Children:

Princess Harmony (Age 7) and Princess Cecilia (Age 13)

Cecilia- She takes after her mother by being spoiled, selfish, bratty, and coming off as the stereotypical mean girl but there is more to her than that. Just like her mother when she was young, Cecilia doesn't know how to act in social situations and uses her mean girl attitude to cover up her insecurities. Thankfully, while Arista is still harsh at times, she has learned to be more confident and kind towards others. This was partly thanks to Ariel in the episode "Beached" from the TV series. However, it was also thanks to her sister, Adella always trying to make her happy and her finding the merman she loved. She especially got softer when she became a mother. Arista tries to help Cecilia because she knows what she's going through, though Cecilia, being the stubborn teenager she is, brushes it off. It's very similar to how Ariel and Melody having very similar personalities and having problems because of that. They say the kid that is the most like you is the one you'll fight with the most. However, there are ways Cecilia shows her softer side, even if she won't admit it to others. She is very protective of her younger sister and would do anything for her. She'd even risk getting herself hurt or ruining/losing a possession she loved in order to protect her sister. Harmony is the one person she's very rarely ever mean to. While she can be very mean, she cares about her family and her people very much. She will show her softer side in secret because she doesn't want anyone to think she's soft. She is close to her Aunt Alana because of how both of them love fashion and her aunt just seems to know how to make her feel good when she's upset without having to pry. She often gets into fights with all her cousins but especially gets into fights with Melody (Just like their mothers used to) and Cori.

Harmony- Unlike her older sister, she is actually very sweet and takes every opportunity she can to be nice to someone. She loves music just like her cousin Ray, who she is very close to because of their love of music, singing, and dancing. Her personality is very similar to Webby Vanderquack in both the original 80's version and the 2017 version of Ducktales and Agnus from Despicable Me. She's very girly and feminine but does like to play like any other kid does and is willing to get a little dirty. She is also one of the few people who understands her older sister. She knows she's a good person on the inside and is just insecure and tries to hide it with her snobby and mean girl attitude. She's basically to her Cecilia what their Aunt Adella was to their mother. Someone who just wants her seemingly "mean girl" sister to be happy and knows she is just insecure. She's very close to both her Aunt Alana and her Aunt Adella. While she is the sweetest and kindest of all of Triton's grandchildren, she still has her limits and won't let others push her around.

Attina's Children:

Prince Neptune (Age 14) and Princess Coral (Age 8)

Neptune- He is named after his great-great-grandfather, King Neptune, which Triton appreciated Attina doing because he was very close to his grandpa Neptune, who used to play the calliope for young Triton at bedtime. He takes after his mother and her love for reading and inventing. He's very nerdy but isn't one of those stereotypical nerds that use fancy words that no one really understands. He's very intelligent, well-read, kind of awkward, is shy around girls, is funny, can be a lot of fun to be around when he isn't trying too hard to look cool to impress anyone, and is a little clumsy. He is close to his cousin Melody because both know how it feels to be clumsy, awkward, and not knowing how to act in front of their peers. The cousin he is the closest to is Poseidon, who he looks up to and wishes he could be like because of how confident and handsome he is. His personality is a lot like Jane from Tarzan and Lewis from Meet the Robinsons. He is pretty close to his younger sister, who playfully teases him but makes sure not to go too far so he doesn't feel bad.

Coral- She is pretty different from her mother and her brother because, while she is just as intelligent and well-read as they are, she doesn't like to spend most of her time just reading and working on inventions. She loves to have fun and think outside the box, which is something her mother and brother have a hard time doing. Her personality is a lot like Starlight Glimmer from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, due to her natural talent in being creative and resourceful, as well as her being willing to go outside the box, being witty, and a little blunt. Her relationship with her brother is very similar to Starlight Glimmer's relationship with her childhood friend, Sunburst, who is a lot like her brother. She is very close to her cousins Athena, Melody, Kai, Morticia, and Cori. She often is the one who can pull her mother and brother out of their rigid mindset of not thinking outside the box and get them to try something new.

Adella's Daughter:

Princess Morticia (Age 13)

She is the only grandchild of Triton that isn't blood-related, as she was adopted, but Triton still loves her just as much as his other grandchildren. Adella, being the type of person who wants to bring joy to others, thought it would be a great idea to adopt a child, especially since she isn't able to bear children. She had many children to choose from but the one that caught her attention was a gloomy and gothic looking little seven-year-old girl that was sitting all by herself. Just looking at her and how depressed looking she was just made Adella so sad that she chose her without giving it a second thought, which surprised everyone, especially Morticia. She didn't think anyone would adopt her because of what a gothic and odd child she was, she especially didn't think a princess that was also a cheerful party animal would choose her over the other children. Her relationship with her mother is very similar to Pinkie Pie and her sister Maud Pie from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Since Morticia is a lot like Maud and I modeled Adella's personality after Pinkie Pie, there is a lot of love between the two despite how they are polar opposites. Adella can tell when her daughter is happy and excited, even though she is always emotionless and monotone. She is very sarcastic with her dry wit but she loves her family and her parents very much. She even has grown to love parties but not because she finds them to be fun and enjoyable, it's because they make her mother happy to throw them, which makes her happy. Unlike most kids, she doesn't get embarrassed when her parents, particularly her mother, act silly and over-the-top. She doesn't even get upset when her mother calls her Tishy. She is also very similar to Mai from Avatar: The Last Airbender, who I modeled her design after, and Cassandra from Hercules: The Animated Series. Unlike other merpeople, she isn't comfortable showing her skin, so her Aunt Alana made her a long sleeved sheer shirt with a black shell bra, which she appreciates. She's not very good at making friends because of her introverted, gothic, and isolated loner nature but she does learn to get better at socializing and making friends, while still staying an emotionless and monotone goth. She is especially close with her cousins Coral and Cori. She becomes pretty close to her cousin Melody as well, but not to the same extent as Coral and Cori. She doesn't even think about where she came from or what happened to her real parents because she doesn't believe in dwelling on the past and is perfectly happy with the family she has. She loves them more than anything because they care about her and have given her such a wonderful life that she couldn't even imagine having a happier one (Even when ignoring the whole royalty thing), even though her face and voice doesn't show it. She'll do anything to protect her family. While she doesn't smile very much, the few times she does are when she's especially happy, though it's more like a Mona Lisa smile.

Alana's Daughter:

Princess Cori/Cordelia (Age 10)

The only child of Alana and she couldn't be more different from her mother. Her name is Cordelia but she hates being called that and prefers to be called Cori because it's not so girly. As opposed to her girly, beauty focused, and fashionista mother, Cori is a hardcore tomboy. Her personality is just like Toph from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Spinelli from Recess. Unlike her mother, she doesn't care about her looks at all, she doesn't even care that her bangs are always in her face. She loathes girly stuff and often gets into disagreements and arguments with her mother. Her relationship with her mother is a lot like Rarity and Sweety Belle from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Alana is a lot like Rarity and just like Sweety Belle, Cori likes to get dirty and do things that aren't so lady-like, though Cori does it to a much larger extent than Sweety Belle. While they do fight, she and her mother love each other very much and are always there for each other. She is a huge prankster, even more so than her cousin Kai, who she'll often get into fights with by pranking each other to see who does pranks better, which is all in good fun. She is very close to her cousins Kai, Coral, Athena, and Morticia. She also becomes pretty close with her cousins Melody and Merrick. She is a hardcore tomboy that is very sassy but has a soft and sensitive side to her, which she tries not to show. She often gets into fights with her cousin Cecilia, due to their polar opposite personalities.

Ariel's Son:

Prince Merrick (Age 9)

The second born child and only son of King Eric and Queen Ariel, as well as the younger brother and only sibling of Princess Melody. Much like his sister, he looks like a combination of both his parents but looks more like his mother just like how Melody looks more like her father. However, he takes after his father a lot more in terms of personality, just like how Melody takes much more after her mother in terms of personality. He's adventurous, fun-loving, playful, smart, can be a little clueless at times like his dad, likes to poke fun of Grimsby, loves dogs, and doesn't always follow the rules (Which seems to be a family trait with his parents and sister). He dresses similar to his father, only more sloppy, due to being only nine-years-old. He idolizes his father and wants to be just like him. He would love to be the captain of a ship and sail the sea as his father did. He is very close to his older sister and both of his parents. He is a bit of a troublemaker but not nearly as much as his sister. He is also pretty close to his cousins Kai, Ray, Coral, Cori, Athena, and Gil. On a side note, his shirt color is the same color as his mother's mermaid tail and when he is a merboy, I had his tail be the same color as his mother's shell bra.
