there's a lesbian led zeppelin cover band called. as you might have guessed. lez zeppelin. and the instrumentalists are REALLY fucking tight especially the guitarist. but unfortunately the vocalist's voice is way too clean and technical to do justice to these songs that were meant to be sung DIRTY. and it's really uncanny to listen to like why does roberta plant sound like mariah carey be so fr right now

when i first started singing i was very nasal and then with my voice teacher we slowly but surely eradicated that but the result has been that any other mistake i make (like improper use of soffiato or appoggio or throat or whatever) doesn't faze me but i am terrified of slipping back into nasality. to the point where i often think im nasal even when im like paranasal at worst

Soft tissues influence nasal airflow in diapsids: Implications for dinosaurs
Published 17th July 2023
A study testing the accuracy of lower resolution models on interpretations of nasal physiology in fossils by comparing nasal passages in extant diapsids, using computational fluid dynamics to simulate airflow of 3D reconstructed models of different nasal passages and compared soft-tissue-bounded results of the same airways under the lower-resolution limits imposed by fossilization.
Soft‐tissue and bony‐bounded airways of Alligator mississippiensis(a), Meleagris gallopavo(b), Struthio camelus(c), Iguana iguana(d) and Varanus exanthematicus(e)
example
Nasal models, airflow patterns and potential paranasal sinuses of Struthio camelus
airflow through the caudal of the bony‐bounded alligator mississippiensis model and Airflow velocities through the same cross sections in the bony‐bounded and soft‐tissue airway
Chart of airway volumes in different regions of the nasal passage
BB= Bony-Bounded, ST= Soft tissue
Bony‐bounded airways had consistently higher airway volumes than their soft‐tissue models.
The nasal passage of Majungasaurus crenatissimus based on research

The sinuses develop at different times:
●Ethmoid sinuses are present at birth
●Maxillary sinuses are present at birth and expand rapidly by 4 y/o
●Sphenoid sinuses grow 0-2 y/o, pneumatize ~5 y/o, and are done by 12 y/o
●Frontal sinuses develop ~6-8 y/o but do not finish until 14-18 y/o
●Paranasal sinuses are nearly adult-sized by 12 y/o and finish ~20 y/o
