The IRS LOOOVE to ask me questions like
Have you ever:
never not received dividends of a divisionary nature through the operation of a state or federal corporal mutual fund, and paid pecuniary expenses related to Article 805A(b).e, or
been gifted more than $2,000,000 cash or the equivalent in yachts or racing horses from a foreign monarch, and
not been actively involved in assessing fewer than two digital assets prior to 2021, or not more that two non-relational nontaxable assets after Jun 7th, 2022 (see Schedule 8, box 17a)
☐ Yes ☐ No ☐ Other
#& before anyone tries to recommend me some nice simple online tax preparation thing; srry but i am legally not allowed to#bc I'm a dual citizen living abroad 🙃 So I have to pay an accountant $500/year to fill it out for me instead#Hey Americans! Did u know if you ever permanently move abroad you actually still have to file US tax returns for the rest of your life?#And report the balances of all your bank accounts to the US government? With potential fines of tens of thousands of dollars#PER year PER form that you don't fill out?#Fun fact: this also applies in many many cases if you were born abroad to a US parent and have never even been to the US!!!#Fun fact: the US government doesn't tell you this! There are thousands of people all over the world#who are considered tax evaders by the US and stand to be immediately arrested or fined the minute they set foot on US soil!!!#Most of this is hardly ever enforced ofc bc the IRS simply doesn't have the manpower to do so#but it's a handy little sword of Damocles hanging over the head of every US citizen all over the world#so that if anyone ever steps out of line - whoopsieee! looks like you haven't been filing your FBARs huh?#Would be a pity if you were extradited and arrested for tax evasion :)#One more fun fact: apart from the US the only other country to require lifelong taxation and tax filing from its citizens abroad is Eritrea#a totalitarian dictatorship with one of the worst human rights records in the world#But thank god the America is such a paragon of freedom and democracy <3 🙃🙃🙃

Ah, the Toritsuka chapter. I actually kind of love his introduction. If only he hadn’t been such a slimeball. But then again, that would undermine the entire purpose of his character.
XD Master Saiki.
This once again reminds me of Mob Psycho. I can’t help but wonder if the two series influenced each other, both being highly successful comedies about vastly overpowered psychic teenagers and their journey to self discovery. I do wonder sometimes why Mob Psycho was so much more successful than Saiki k, at least here in the States. Maybe they *are* equally popular in Japan, but that’s not the case if the internet fandom is anything to judge by (Mob Psycho is much, much more popular. There’s so much more fanart, if you search for it using the Japanese words and fan slang.)
I do enjoy both Aiura and Toritsuka using their powers, each of them ostensibly unimpressive compared to his but both about the only major supernatural abilities he lacks, to find out about him. Lovely situational irony.
Ghosts gather to see Psy users… has anyone ever discussed that this might be the cause of Saiki’s bad luck? But ghosts are by nature well-intentioned according to Toritsuka, so you would think he would have much better than average luck… hmm
Or maybe evil spirits are a thing, and not discussed in the manga for one reason or another. Maybe because they are not human ghosts but Yokai, another kind of spirit.
I do love that Toritsuka comes into the whole thing knowing exactly how many powers saiki has and just how powerful he is, but Toritsuka isn’t put off by it in the least (rather the opposite.) It obviously throws Saiki off. He even seems intrigued… at first. Until Toritsuka reveals his motivations unhesitatingly. He may know everything about Saiki’s powers, but obviously knows nothing of his personality.
From the events of PSIowdown later on in the comic regarding demonic possession and literally stealing people’s bodies, I like the implication that Toritsuka could probably learn other powers… if he was even remotely motivated to do so. So he probably could banish ghosts, if only he’d stop thinking about tits for half a second. I mean, he did learn possession channeling in the first place, for the sole purpose of picking up girls.
this brings up the question, does Toritsuka have relatives? where are they? We never see them. I mean, everyone has relatives, but where are Toritsuka’s real parents? What about his grandparents?
still a really funny panel. Yes half of Toritsuka perv jokes aren’t funny, but this one is perfect.
one thing that I do like about Saiki k is it makes an effort to demonstrate that looks can be deceiving. You have a character like Toritsuka who has pure, clear eyes and good looks (headband aside) who by all social indicators should be a paragon of society, who turns out to be a total creep within 5 minutes of meeting him, and then you have people like what’s the teachers name Iguchi sensei who turns out to be a really good person, even though he looks like a pervert. I think you see this a little with all of the characters, Saiki included. His words never quite match his actions; he looks like a surly average kid but he’s secretly extraordinary and of course very kind.
And Aiura, someone with seemingly low regard for social rules, who by all rights should have a reputation as the school slut, and a failure for her grades, is one of the strongest characters and has a lot of integrity. People respect her for her powers and her self confidence. She’s not who she appears to be either. Even someone like Kurumi turns “monstrous” when her ire is provoked. It gives these characters a layer of complexity that so many gag characters just don’t have, and that’s what sets it apart.
I do wonder if what Saiki says is true. Can’t they be taught? I imagine not. Maybe Toritsuka could approximate something similar to x-ray vision with his own abilities if he was dedicated and studied how he might expand his powers.
despite all of that he still invites Toritsuka over again? Japanese politeness, even from Saiki who has no respect for the kind of person that Toritsuka is? Or maybe it’s a quirk of translation. Let me see.
Okay, to me it looks more like, “yeah, yeah, go home already.” (hai, hai, kae-ta kae—) So, more of a dismissal than an acknowledgement.
Another underutilized power… come on now this is so useable in ship fics. And gen fics too. Saiki would make an entertaining detective character.
Also, if Saiki experiences all five senses live, does that mean…?
XD old man ass. hahaha
end of 2-17💫
#read-saiki#read-saiki 2-17#meta#I try to start every chapter with theorizing#and end it with something vulgar and inappropriate#Jk#but really#it’s always good to end a chapter in a gag I think

re that au where au!tom yeets himself into canon - so you said harry would be happy to ignore the, uh, particular brand of obsessed tom's got going with him. but what about everyone else's (who knows his real identity) reaction to that? like harry's friends (I imagine tom would be using every opportunity to push them away so he can hang out with harry alone), the rest of the order, dumbledore (who i assume trusts him about as much as you can trust a dementor to not snack on your soul), the other death eaters, or even canon!voldemort
oh ho ho
Harry knows, after the initial confusion and fear and disgust and rage are cycled through, that the presence of a different Tom Riddle at his side is not accepted but for the moment tolerated.
The Order, Dumbledore, are too soldier-like to disregard what an asset Riddle will be in this fight -
(war, a part of Harry corrects, because even if he's never experienced it on such a scale, every day of his life has been a battle and he knows, bone-deep, what the beat of drums on the horizon means)
and that if the only thing guaranteeing his compliance is access to Harry then they will do it. Because Harry has always been more tool than person in their eyes, more symbol than boy.
And it's not even that Harry particularly minds being given up like a sacrifice, an appeasement, an offering because that's what he's spent his whole life being moulded into, isn't it? Someone to lay down his life for others, someone to take the hits, someone to draw the ire and attention of the most dangerous man in the world so that others could spin their plans on the side.
He's honestly not even surprised when they agree to let Riddle stay with him.
His friends don't understand his ease with the situation. They don't think he's in the right headspace to know what he's agreeing to (don't trust me, Harry thinks, a little bitter, a little sad). Ginny, in particular, is wroth at the Order's decision. She rages, she spits, she cries - because the young man standing at Harry's shoulder shares the face of the boy she had put her faith in and been violated by, been betrayed by, and it's not fair to ask Harry to go through that too.
Hermione and Ron are more quiet in their disagreement, their anger on Harry's behalf a simmering but ever-present force. They don't like Riddle, don't trust him, don't want him near their friend, but Harry is unmoving and the more time he spends with Riddle the less weight their voices seem to hold and they're scared.
Voldemort, on his part, is at first frustrated and then curious. He shares a mental link with Harry, after all, and the more glimpses he gets of his other self - of the things he says to Harry, of how masterfully he brings the boy under his purview, of the subtle influences he imposes that always, always lead to impressive growth in Harry - the more he begins to understand just why a version of Tom Riddle would leap dimensions to find another Harry Potter.
The Death Eaters are more confused than anything, but the ones that cross paths with Harry more often? The ones that find themselves on the end of his wand more and more? They're the ones that begin to see. That know -
Harry Potter is shifting. Slowly, incrementally, he's sliding away from being a paragon of Light propaganda and is becoming more...open-minded. His spells drift more towards maim than subdue. Curses roll of his tongue without hesitation. His magic, just as fierce as ever, has a certain flavour to it now, some mix of Dark and Light that is bewitching to see.
And when he rages how beautifully it swirls.
Tom is...content for the most part. Under his guidance Harry has begun to shake some of the more unappealing traits he's been forced to cultivate over the years. He's more assertive, more confident, more in control. Proactive rather than reactive. Stable rather than teetering on the edge of destruction.
Harry's no use to Tom if he can't stand up to him, after all. What good is a balancing influence that fails at balancing?

Through the many years of simply just existing, there's always been an ever lingering dread that nagged at the back of his mind; A small little voice that never quite understood the term kindness even if that kindness would be directed towards himself because Genesis Rhapsodos was not a man deserving of such a thing. Abrasive and prickly, greedy and selfish to a degree, those were all traits that had always lingered beneath the surface of a kindly smile and gentle façade long since tossed the side in his grief grappling with his own mortality. He lashed out upon those who admittedly did not deserve the crimson commander's ire and in turn has destroyed many lives.
Regret is one hell of a feeling, the ginger found. It was cold and unfamiliar, nearly as painful as the knowledge of his demise that was to come eventually and the grief of mourning those he's lost by his own actions. It's always amusing to think, sat within the remains of the village he'd grown up in, had been born in, that perhaps he might die here. The ache of the degradation had faded, a vision he's certain was just a near death hallucination seemingly healed the splitting of flesh. ( How odd. )
Not that it matters much anymore, propped against the wood of an old chair digging into his back, grass inevitably staining the red of his coat and for once Genesis can't bring it in himself to fuss over the possible mess. Tranquility, silence, peace for once; It's as pleasant as the gentle breeze tousling his hair until sage hues finally open at the familiar crunch of one of those damned apples. There is amusement in his features, gratitude warming through the ginger's body and foggy as his mind feels while conversing with Angeal's puppy- No, with Zack, one thing manages to ring clear as a bell; Forgiveness was not something the mage deserved, admittedly, and he wasn't going to insist upon his apology being accepted for all he's done.
Genesis was not a good man, at one point perhaps but a dog that weeps after rending flesh is still as guilty as the dog that celebrates and he had mercilessly slain so many for some foolish goal. Self preservation made for the perfect excuse of tossing his morals and honor to the side, his dreams long since forgotten for some stupid idea that he knew was just a myth. “ That's fine. ”
And he means it too, despite the leaden feeling of his body and the urge to just close his eyes once more, there is still a lot left to be said. “ He would be proud of you, you know. I know it means nothing coming from me given our history but you've become a true paragon of what it means to be a soldier with honor, your forgiveness is yours to give and I know I am not worthy of it, however I only hope you are able to continue onwards with a lighter heart, Zack. ”

❛ i don't know if i can forgive you. ❜

♱ [marjorie – lily james – 28 – lady] ♱ bienvenidos MARJORIE. you hail from SCOTLAND and have been risen to the position of a LADY. you are a member of the house of DOUGLAS and will go down in history as the LEVERAGED. though you are RESTLESS & STUBBORN, you are blessed with being PERCEPTIVE and ALTRUISTIC. ♱ / penned by K.
She is the eldest daughter of James V, though unlike her ruling half-sister, Arabella, Marjorie has the distinction of being born illegitimate: the product of a passionate union between Jane Douglas and the late Scots king. She is used as a bargaining chip by both her mother and brother, a sagely played card intended to undermine the regency thinly protecting Arabella – which, as every Scot knows, is merely a carefully-constructed house of cards, a singular breath away from collapse.
BIOGRAPHY:
White dusted the Highlands. A stillness known only to winter frosted the air, broken by the occasional crunch of snow underfoot, the hurried trot of shivering horses and wisps of steam emerging from momentarily open doors, behind which faces bitten by cold peered out to watch a brilliant sunset settle over frozen lochs. This was the Scotland that welcomed Marjorie into the world after hours of extensive labor and delivery.
During her earliest years, she was blissfully unaware of the significance of her parentage – a brilliantly happy child, the light of any room she entered with a giggle that could warm the coldest of hearts and lift the deepest of sorrows. But as Marjorie grew, she began to notice the judgmental stares and hushed whispers that followed her each time she was made to curtsy to her younger, legitimate half-sister. She saw the way the people heralded her older brother as King James V’s rightful male issue while looking through her, as if she was nothing more than pretty window dressing.
It might have bothered her had any courtiers ever been bold enough to comment on her uselessness to her face, but they either lacked the courage or wanted to garner favor with her brother badly enough that they wouldn’t dare – or perhaps it was her mother’s status that kept them from speaking out. Mistress or not, between her clan and her relationship to the Scots king, few would risk Jane’s ire. Whatever the reason, Marjorie ignored the quiet mockery, deciding they were all fools.
How could they not see the privilege she’d been blessed with? She was born with parents who could indulge all her interests and she was given reign to explore them fully.
That freedom gave way to a beautiful mind, always thirsting for knowledge, capable of great vision and intellectual feats. Marjorie devoured books in Latin, French, English and Gaelic, feasting on the musings of the world’s greatest thinkers. She studied music and the arts, practiced dancing and piano at her leisure and spent her free time pursuing charitable endeavors, becoming a paragon of ladylike sensibilities. She learned to pay attention, keep aware of court movements and tuck away any morsel of information that might be of use to her, and soon, she had a reputation for kindness. After all, few would remember a book mentioned once in passing by an acquaintance who longed to read it, much less appear with it in hand for them to borrow upon their next meeting.
Marjorie enjoyed that reputation, leveraging it in order to convince others to join her in charity. “There is always a need for extra hands at St. Leonard’s,” she would say, hoping to persuade some lady or other to join her in praying for the sick on her next visit.
She thought perhaps she had won the court’s begrudging respect for those efforts until one evening, shortly after the king had passed, she heard someone suggest amidst the clamor of a bustling ballroom that her pursuits were a waste when she ought to be focused on finding a husband.
The implication that she was only valuable so long as she married well soured her to romance, even though the realities of being the sister of a man with a dynastic claim to bolster had never been hidden from her. She’d always known that she would marry for position, rather than love, and she was practical enough to be okay with that. Such was her duty, and for her family, she would see it done without complaint.
But did that really mean she would never be seen for who she was? That nothing she did would ever matter, aside from that one act?
Those questions haunt her as she watches her mother and brother vie for power, as she feels herself being pushed around like a chess piece in the game of thrones. Marjorie longs to be seen, to be valued. It is her greatest weakness. She dreams, secretly and with the knowledge that dreams are often the cause of a heart’s greatest disappointment, of a husband who allows her the same freedom she’s always been blessed with, not because he wants her out of his hair, but because he recognizes that she is an asset in and of herself.

"HIYA MASKY! IT'S ME! I found the pied piper! After a thorough questioning which nearly cost him his leg, I can confirm that he did not sell out Croco! He took a nasty blow to the head while they gassed our big reptilian companion and took him away! They were looking for weapon shipments to help arm our little rebellion! I'm having my boys patch him up and I'll drag him with me... He can make up for his mistake by helping!"
"So since I went into the sewers to find him, I assume I can get a little reward for doing my best, right? Come on. Hand over a suit! Don't be mean! I got mine dirty for this!"
Masky! In the past, such audacity from the clown would have been enough to make him reach for Sodom and Gomorrah but tonight was a different story. Instead of his enemy, tonight the Joker was... well, an ally was too optimistic but she had come through, delving deep into the filth and decay of the sewers running beneath the city streets to find their elusive quarry, ie the same manner that a terrier would drive out a rat. More than that, she’d also taken measures to find out what happened, why Croc had disappeared, relieving his suspicions that the Ratcatcher had betrayed them all to Chimera. ”So that’s what happened. I figured ratty boy was a coward but didn’t think he’d be stupid enough turn tail and run.” Roman replied, though his expression soured when the Joker mentioned a reward. He hadn’t thought she was serious about wanting one of his suits. Of course she had been. Damn her and her twisted obsession with his fashion. Still, his ire pales in comparison to his concern about the situation. Croc was still gone and the more time was ticking, the lower their chances were of getting the scaled behemoth back in one piece. Already an eye and a hand had been sent to him and Doctor Psycho respectively, bringing everything in full circle now their little snitch - or who he’d figured to be the snitch, had been brought to heel. And to task no less. Roman had no doubt that the clown had her own persuasive ways of getting stubborn tongues to flap. ”Still ain’t sure to believe a word from his mouth but if you say that’s what happened, who am I to deny it? Especially with the evidence all over your clothes.” Roman says, almost wistful as to their missing companion. Nonetheless he rolls his eyes; a suit was a small price to pay for getting Otis back even if it was from Paragon, and Roman fully intended on making the man squirm for making him give the Joker a pair. Roman idly tosses the clown a set of keys, silver and shining. ”To my walk-in closet. Take any pair you want but don’t clean me out. These suits don’t come cheap,” he growls. The clown could probably pull them all off too knowing her.
#thewomanwholaughs#;; asks#Okay so this is set a little before Roman gets his hands on Otis!#Sorry about the wait had my hands full today#I am loving this storyline though haha#Of course Joker still wants one of his suits#I'm thrilled that she does haha#And in all fairness she pulled off an impressive task!#Not easy to catch a rat in the sewers#And she does need some fresh new clothes#Those sewers rise pretty high in winter

Hi! Answering because I saw this comment and looking through this blog you seem to have asked it a few times —
I'm first going to address the China comment. Yes, Kissinger did re-establish diplomatic ties with Communist China during the height of the Cold War. He also created a détente with the Soviet Union as well as negotiating arms treaties with Moscow (SALT comes to mind), and is well known for the shuttle diplomacy he enacted in the Middle East. However, it's important to keep in mind that each one of these achievements came with a heavy backdrop of American interest, and, more crucially in the case of Henry Kissinger, career advancement.
Kissinger seems like Reagan, yes, not just because of their "controversial" standing in public opinion but also because Reagan made his way to presidency off the foundation Kissinger and Nixon laid for him.
Even if Kissinger was some paragon of virtue for the previously-listed accomplishments, it would not matter; these would all be vastly overshadowed by his "little wars". Kissinger was a strong proponent for American militarism, arguing that America, insulated by two oceans and on a high thanks to victory in both World Wars fought on foreign soil lacked self-awareness, that these victories had lead to a purist sense of morality that impeded American leaders from making "decisions in ambiguous situations".
This totalitarian philosophy is what lead Kissinger into his tenure in the White House. The core of your question, "What did Kissinger do?" follows thanks to it. I'm not going to go very much into detail, but I do agree Kissinger had a very daunting career that basically helped to model the modern Right, and it's extremely important to understand what he did in order to understand why the world is as it is today.
The Vietnam War was already being fought when Nixon came into office bolstered by campaign promises to end it. Instead, he and Kissinger extended it five pointless years, killing millions due to sheer anti-Communism.
Laos and Cambodia are directly related to Vietnam. In equal measure fearful of and intrigued by the Ho Chi Minh trail which ran through Laos and Cambodia, Nixon and Kissinger made the decision to bomb it, fully in secret so as to bypass dissent. For a year, Kissinger personally authorized and planned the dropping of billions of tons of bombs, killing hundreds of thousands — there exist approximately 80 million unexploded bombs in Laos to this day.
Latin America was where Kissinger directed a significant portion of his ire; Bolivia underwent a military coup and the instatement of a fascist dictator under Kissinger's watchful eye; Uruguay's elections were rigged thanks to Kissinger, which directly lead into a coup that turned Uruguay into a police state; Chile's democratically-elected Allende was killed in a coup sponsored by Kissinger; similar coups happened in Peru, Ecuador, and Argentina.
Bangladesh, then East Pakistan, underwent a "selective genocide" under the Nixon administration wherein over half a million died, largely due to: Kissinger wanting to appease West Pakistan's (now Pakistan) ally, China, and due to anti-Indian sentiment.
Africa was for the most part little more than an object of ridicule in Kissinger's eyes, however, this didn't stop him from implementing his so-called "tar baby option" with regards to the white supremacist nations of South Africa and Rhodesia. Kissinger directly expanded arms sales to their militaries and established networks to subdue liberation movements.
This isn't even all of it. I could continue by bringing up the Kurds, or East Timor, or Afghanistan. Or Palestine. Kissinger's bloody legacy is so vast that it is truly difficult to understand where to start in order to understand, but millions of people died and countless governments were destabilized, leading to geopolitical conflicts that continue to this day, so I don't blame you for not knowing where to start. I hope this clears up some of the confusion! Again, I highly recommend both the Behind the Bastards series and Kissinger's Shadows largely due to their broadness.
in all seriousness, a few resources i think are helpful with regards to understanding just how thoroughly henry kissinger screwed the world over:
kissinger by behind the bastards. this is a 6 part series done by the podcast behind the bastards, featuring the hosts of the dollop on as guests. it's super funny and a super accessible foothold into understanding the scope of kissinger's vast career.
kissinger's shadow by greg grandin. this book provides a relatively in-depth analysis of kissinger's tenure in the white house, covering both how he got into office, the changes he made in office, the policies he put forth, and their repercussions on the world.
the trial of henry kissinger by christopher hitchins. while grandin's book focuses less on the specificities of kissinger's crimes, hitchins has no such qualms and details each of them in depth.
i truly think understanding kissinger, the way he thought, and the things that he did, are all indispensable when it comes to understanding the modern political climate and how foreign policy works in america and therefore, by necessity, in the world at large. the sheer amount of damage he was responsible for should never be underestimated.

❝ Are you still angry with me ? ❞ @bllakcat
Anger in him a torrent of vicious feeling , one that ran through the deepest streams at the center of his being. With his stalwart nature , he nurtured such a feeling , feeding it with a righteous indignity like a dry sapling branches to a cold fire. His arms are already crossing against his broad chest , his expression reflecting nothing less than the anticipated ire. ❝ You are a paragon to the persisting nature of Mankind's self-interest. ❞ If not for the deep ripple at the base of his cadence , one could nearly get away with misconstruing it as a compliment of decent magnitude , but there was a concerted effort to only thinly veil his irritation & that , paired with the slender squinting of his eyes , left very little for personal interpretation of his mood.
❝ Fate is not a toy. ❞ There is a disgruntled exhale that follows , shoulders rigid & unmoving as the current of his dissatisfaction continued to descend upon her , like the crash of a tidal wave. ❝ You play with powers beyond your comprehension & hope the repercussions never come. You're not outrunning fate , it's already waiting for you at the finish line. ❞

The reason white people believe in Trickle-Down Economics is because we benefit from Trickle-Down White Supremacy, and we automatically assume it works the same way.
...Of course, our entire perception of that is, in the first place, inherently wrong. Like we think it means we are all important heroes entitled to unlimited sex with blonde paragons, and money. When in reality it only means you are allowed to want to fuck your cousin, and make it hard for the IRS to collect your taxes.
And that last thing, only because the storage units that house your Evangelical church aren't taxable, mostly because they're sitting on top of an abandoned Superfund site.

Code of Retaliation
"Code of Retaliation" is a pulsating tech thriller that plunges readers into the murky waters of international espionage and advanced warfare technology. With the world teetering on the edge of a technological war, the stakes couldn't be higher as a US aerospace CEO's secret dealings catapult Iran to the forefront of aerial and marine drone advancements—threatening to shift the global balance of power.
Unleashed against American satellites, these invulnerable drones ignite a desperate struggle within the US defense – with General Jonathan Hayes and CIA operative Dylan Walker racing against time to neutralize the threat. This chess game of high-tech brinkmanship reveals a tapestry of treachery where American officials, Iranian hardliners, and greedy magnates vie for control.
The battle intensifies with a second drone assault, leaving the US's communication channels in tatters and inching the superpowers closer to outright conflict. General Hayes launches a retaliatory cyber strike, which only stokes the fires of vengeance in an Iranian commander primed to retaliate.
In the vortex of this fierce geopolitical storm, Dylan Walker launches a daring countermeasure that defines the essence of suspense and action. This leads to a climax that sees enemy forces converging on a breakthrough that could forever change the face of warfare. In an exquisite blend of strategy and resolve, Dylan becomes the embodiment of Prometheus as he battles to thwart a global catastrophe.
This is a tale of relentless courage, double-crossing, and the raw plight of those at the helm who dare to redefine warfare. "Code of Retaliation" promises not just a read but a full-throttle dive into the consequences of next-gen military dominance and the undying human resolve to preserve order amidst the chaos of potential technological revolution.
Detail Synopsis
In the heated cauldron of international espionage and high-stakes technology heists, "Code of Retaliation" is a relentless tech thriller that catapults the reader into a labyrinth of betrayal, where loyalty is scarce and the line between ally and adversary is perilously thin. A mercurial journey of broken trust and unyielding valor, the story weaves through an intricate tapestry of deception, where heroes forge ahead through the quagmire of dire straits.
Amidst the austere backdrop of global espionage, an audacious move by Iran sets the world teetering on the brink of an all-consuming tech war. With the discovery of a clandestine sale by a cash-strapped US aerospace CEO—whose dalliance with Raziya, Iran's lead scientist, clouds the waters of strife—Iran leaps forward, augmenting an already formidable drone program now capable of dominating the terrestrial skies and the ocean's abyssal depths.
When these fearsome drones pierce the sanctity of space, targeting American satellites in a daring offensive, the U.S. response is a symphony of shock and awe; the indestructible drones evade capture and destruction, forcing the hand of General Jonathan Hayes of the DIA and Dylan Walker—CIA paragon and spec-ops juggernaut—who spearhead a top-tier task force in a perilous race against the clock.
As Raziya parleys with the Russian and Chinese echelons, a cascade of covert operations unfurls, each nation desperate to claim the drone technology for themselves. Underneath the shroud of intelligence gathering, Dylan unravels a Gordian knot of subterfuge—rogue American officials, Iranian factions, and double-dealing magnates spin a web that ensnares both national security and global order.
The second wave of drone strikes is swift and merciless, shredding crucial U.S. communication networks and nudging the superpower to the precipice of war. As drums of conflict pound, General Hayes wages a cyber onslaught upon the Iranian drone nexus, igniting the ire of an Iranian commander who orders a crippling cyber counterattack.
The impending war looms; the U.S. readies its might against Iran's lifeblood—its oil refineries. Yet amid the soaring tensions, Dylan charges through the entangled espionage, orchestrating a covert assault on the very heart of the drone operations.
In this pressure-cooker of imminent war and cutthroat espionage, the hands of adversaries and allies alike are forced. Yet, as the U.S blasphemy embodying the fury of Prometheus, rains fire on Iranian soil, Dylan is a tempest, outsmarting and dismantling the machinations of traitors and terrorists with boundless tenacity.
The novel crescendos as enemy forces converge, poised to seize the unparalleled drone technology. Yet, the play is far from over. As the Russian and Chinese teams close in, Dylan's mission is a race against the march of war—a sprint toward the key that could deactivate the drones once and for all.
Culminating in an audaciously executed rescue, Dylan disrupts the abduction of Lillian Skybourne, whose fate hangs like a Sword of Damocles over the flames of retaliation. With each heartbeat, the novel thrums with undisclosed secrets and unseen dangers, endowing those at the vanguard with the fortitude to counterstrike within an arena where machines dictate the rules of engagement.
"Code of Retaliation" is not just a narrative but a heart-pounding surcharge into the unknowns of next-generation warfare. What emerges from the din of battle and the whisper of subterfuge is a portrait of courage, of minds and wills sharpened against the stone of adversity, and of the indomitable human spirit striving to maintain a world order on the vertiginous edge of revolution.

@ivory-paragon asked: "We will never speak of this arrangement again."
"Yes sir." And if he does? Dances in the corner of his eyes, dark lashes fluttering as if REM has taken hold so fervent is the dart of his gaze across broad shoulders, between the piercing gaze of narrowed eyes and the golden bridge of brows knitting themselves together as if the whole of his dignity rests upon them. The ire absorbed in a perfect moment, in an instant.
He is beauty and beast when angry, a terror to behold and a spectacle to be admired. It raises the hair on the nape of the Turk's neck so violently he stifles a shiver with a sigh.
"Will I need to run interference on the morning's newspaper?"
