Tagged by @imlivingformyselfdontmindme. And because the original rule says only four, I would do just that (mostly because I'm too lazy to list more than that lol 😁)

These are my go-to songs whenever I feel life is giving extra scoops of sh*t. Also, these songs are old (leave me alone lol). However, their lyrics are those that I can almost always relate to the most. In this exact order:

Apoy (Fire) by Greyhoundz

It is such a shame that Spotify does not carry this song. It is my go-to whenever I feel depressed. The song talks about the lure of self-destruction and the singer's appeal to those listening to hold tight to their ideals/ beliefs/whatever makes them truly happy.

Michael had been flying for hours. The storm has made it nearly impossible to see and his wings grew heavy with the rain water, but he felt the call. All the harbingers had been chosen and he had gone with Gabriel to meet his brother and sisters, but they weren't meant to be together yet. They were told to go to different areas and do different missions for God until they were called together.

He didn't know if this was their ride, the ride of the horseman, or if this was a mission they were being given jointly. He just felt the urge, as the others would feel.

As an archangel he had seen what earth was eventually to become and he was glad they still had so long before humanity occupied every inch of this earth. He had been able to fly this entire way without worrying about sky scrapers just yet and their meeting place was so secluded they might not even have to hide their wings at all. He hoped.

He closed his eyes as he walked into the field. He was early and he knew that, but he was their leader, he had to set an example.

He tried to remember what they each were before they fell, before their deaths, before their second chance.

Mark was a teacher at a college, he thought. He has been told in passing and he hoped he got it right. Isabelle was the last to join them, she was so young. She probably wouldn't remember her past because she was actually from a hundred or so years in the future. She had been pulled back to them in this time and she would never know it. In the early two thousands she had run a boxing dojo of sorts she inherited.

Aleera.... He had been very distracted when meeting her. Beautiful and sensual. He had never been stirred before, his now mostly human body had reacted to her presence and he had left before finding out.

He set up a few tents in the field and started a fire, laying out blankets for them to sit on. He even started some food, though he wasn't hungry himself. He wasn't sure how far they had to travel.

He sat in front of the fire reading a book.

Reportagem - The Cult, Coliseu do Porto

Passaram 30 anos desde a última vez que o público português presenciou The Cult ao vivo. A caminho do Coliseu, era já visível uma grande fila pautada por várias pessoas vestidas a rigor, estendendo-se até à Praça dos Poveiros. Praticamente esgotado, com apenas alguns lugares de visibilidade reduzida disponíveis, o Coliseu foi-se enchendo lentamente de fãs ansiosos pelo regresso tão esperado.

A primeira parte ficou a cargo de Lys Morke, cantora, compositora, produtora e artista visual que reside em Barcelona. Apesar da sua música que explora vários géneros, com influências como PJ Harvey, Massive Attack, Arca e Grimes, não sentimos que se enquadrasse enquanto abertura para este concerto. Foi recebida pelo público de forma carinhosa, mas que se tornou impaciente à medida que o concerto – previsto de meia hora – se estendeu devido aos constrangimentos na entrada do público.

Eis que The Cult entra finalmente em palco abrindo com “In the Clouds”, com uma ovação muito calorosa e uma energia que não diminuiu nem por um minuto. Passaram por vários êxitos dos seus 11 álbuns, e foram acompanhados pelo público em todos eles com um coro afinado e confiante. Os momentos que se viveram especialmente durante “Rain” e “Edie” mostram-nos mais uma vez que a música ultrapassa todas as barreiras e o quão bonito é quando nos juntamos a cantar a uma s�� voz.

Energéticos e imparáveis, os britânicos foram bastante comunicativos com o público. Ian Astbury admira-se num momento em que se acendem as luzes da sala principal, em que diz “Oh shit, I can see you now! How you doing up there?” (dirigindo-se ao público nas bancadas superiores e camarotes). Já quase no fim do concerto, exclama também: “Fucking Portugal. Fuck! Can we stay here? Please? Everywhere else in the world is so fucked but here… I don’t know what it is, I just want to stay here.” Escusado será dizer que voltámos a impressionar, como já é aliás habitual no público português.

E como não podia deixar de ser, o pedido de encore por parte do público, fez a sua magia e trouxe de regresso Ian e Billy, para mais duas músicas.

Parte da Tour “The 8424 Tour”, em celebração de 40 anos de carreira, este foi um concerto inesquecível que se repete hoje (17/Jul), em Lisboa, num concerto esgotado.

( below is a self-para of what saella qoherys saw when she drank the shade of the evening just before the death of viserys targaryen - trigger warnings: blood, hallucinations, death, fire. )

the initial taste was horrid - perhaps the most pungent thing that had ever surpassed her lips.

saella knew not what convinced her to drink this mysterious blue liquid alongside the others in this room with her, perhaps it were the desire to cease the arguing amongst them of just who would do it. she did not imagine the affect it would bestow on her. the taste was rotten, and then it was not, then it was everything all at once, until she swallowed and it was nothing yet again.

she scoffed, setting the drink down, in a plume of smoke it disappeared before her eyes, the room darkened around her until a piercing scream filling her ears. hands quickly found themselves on either side of her head, yet, the sound grew louder, and louder, and louder, until there was only silence.

a sickly, sinister, silence. the sounds of whispering, muttering in some ancient tongue she could not comprehend began echoing down a dimly lit hallway. her feet began to pace, almost enchanted by the sound as if it were a siren song beckoning her to the depths of an ocean. she opened her mouth, but her voice was caught in her throat - until the taste of blood filled her mouth. lilac hues shifted down to the floor, feet bare and soaked with the red liquid that seemed to surround her, dripping down the walls, the whispering growing louder and louder.

until everything shifted - and she were in the great hall of some rain-soaked, abandoned keep. she suddenly knew where she had found herself when a sinister chuckle came from behind her, the feeling of hot breath down her neck, and within the reflect of a pool of water beneath her, she could make out the image of harren the black, much of his skin burnt, sloughing off of his very bones like well-cooked meat. saella moved to run and she could feel a grip around her arm, tightening, until she managed to free it, falling forward as the room swirled around her yet again.

the smell of smoke and fire filled her senses now, she lay there, the sounds of war, blades clashing and men screaming, coming just from outside. a roar of a dragon and flames now surrounded her. tapestries falling - first that of house qoherys, then that of house strong. saella could feel the heat on her skin and finally - she could scream.

she inhaled, trying to find breath in the fire, and her senses filled with that of the earth and dirt,. she were in the godswood, where the weirwoods loomed over her, their branches weeping with the tragedy of this place. her silver hair stuck to her skin, soaked with the rain that never seemed to stop pouring from the sky.

to her left a shadowy figured appeared - a pale woman cloaked in a dark hood, only her raven tresses could be seen in the dim moonlight. through the sound of raindrops pattering upon already soaked earth - saella could make out the murmurs of the woman just some paces before her. and in her last vision, her last memory before she came to in that very same room in which she began in, she heard these words:

"harrenhal demands a price. for every ambition, a life; for every joy, a sorrow. it is a place where dreams turn to nightmares, where hope is but a fleeting illusion. beware the curse, for it spares no one, and its hunger is never sated."

the sound of a scream pulled her from within her own mind, it was not her now, but another in the room. saella found her back pressed to the stone wall behind her, the other figures in various parts of the room. one, however, was not standing, but lying.

dead. viserys targaryen was dead.

a hand came to her mouth in shock and horror, no gladiatorial battle prepared her for the sight. she was unsure of what had just occurred, of what she had just seen. deciphering between reality and her mind seemed entirely impossible now. what was that mysterious drink? who would want them to have endured the effects of such a thing?

whoever it was, whatever it was - saella had found she unlocked something she did not know was there. something she had denied, disbelieved, and now, she believed. now, she wanted to know more, see more. something in her was discovered this day within a passageway she did not think was possible.

and now that she had the key, she intended to unlock that very door again.

Meet Me In The Woods - O Christopher explicando pra Millene a questão dele se tornar o Slasher, abandonando sua vida antiga. A parte do back vocal feminino é pela parte que ela compreende isso e o complementa.

Lovely - Essa significa muito do que a Mi sentiu logo após ser levada de volta pelo Christopher, o sentimento de estar sozinha e vazia, além também de saber que o Christopher está a manipulando pra não ficar sem ela. O vocal dos dois seria uma sinceridade da parte dela e uma manipulação do Chris.

Infinity - Justamente a obsessão do Chris, ele a vê como alguém que foi feita pra ser dele, justamente por conta da situação que estão.

Partners in Crime - É bem auto explicativo kkkkkkkkjjjj, no máximo muda de leves o assalto pra assassinato.

Freaks - O Christopher pra Millene quando ela começou a "melhorar", todo o lance do "Não se sinta mal por me abandonar" não seria muito sincero da parte dele.

Silence - Essa é bem o sentimento da Millene até mesmo hoje em dia, ela ama o Chris, ama o jeito complicado dele e sabe que não teria mais nada na vida sem ele. O Christopher no geral virou a única coisa boa que o Slenderman deu na vida dela. ("Eu achei paz na sua violência, não pode me provar que não vale a pena tentar" foi um pouco ela aceitando o amor dele quando passou a conviver.)

Make You Mine - Essa é auto explicativa também, "você sabe que eu não vou parar até fazer você minha".

My Demons - É basicamente o Christopher enxergando a Millene como a única saída dele, ou, se preferir, ele enxergando o Slenderman como Messias.

Monster - Essa foi a música que incentivou a gente a criar a playlist, ela é muito perfeitinha pros dois. Em questão da música, seria o Christopher usando de manipulação emocional pra fazer a Millene se sentir culpada pela situação que eles estão e o clipe seria ele trazendo ela "pro mundo dele".

Love Like Ghosts - O Christopher se sente "assombrado" pela obsessão que tem pela Millene, justamente porque parte dessa obsessão é causada pelo Operador.

Benjamin stood beside her, his powerful arms crossed over his chest as he watched with a set jaw and sparkling blue iris’. Today he’d gone with his typical three-piece suit. Settling into the plush seat, she stared out the window, watching as the city she loved disappeared from view, the rumbles of the plane something that often lulled her to sleep. But not today. The sky was a mixture in shades of grey, and for a moment, she couldn’t help but think the weather was pretty fitting. 

Drip. Drab. 

Melissa's thoughts returned to the grim reality she was escaping. She wondered if London would be destroyed, burnt to the ground if the French continued their rampage. She wondered about Lara, Damon and Gideon, and a sickness rotted her stomach at the thought of them being hurt.

Lara survived anything that was thrown at her. A true fighter. 

But Gideon? Damon? Even Yvonne, not that she was a particular fan of the last one. She wouldn’t want Andrew to know that kind of pain. Not after Cerys and everything he’d been through. Another name flashed to mind as she looked down at her nails. 

Johnathan. What of him? She’d try to convince him to come to Launceston. Where it was safe. 

She’d be there until she spent some time at the Firm they owned in New York. But first it was time to go back to a place she avoided unless Adrian invited her, which he did from time to time. 

Some hours later, as the plane crossed over the English Channel, Melissa closed her eyes and tried to imagine what her life would’ve been like had things gone differently. And what she saw was a life she’d have never wanted. The danger and power play was what kept her going. 

Kept her feeling alive. 

But the idea of losing that, potentially? Terrified the woman. 

‘‘Ms Lin --- ‘‘ The attendant grabbed her attention, taking her mind away for just a moment, ‘‘Here’s a drink for you, and the plane’s phone is here.’’ Looking at the object, she frowned as she looked up at the attendant, cocking her head to the side. ‘’There’s a call for you, they suggested you might want to take it?’’

‘‘Do we know who it is?’‘ 

‘‘No, ma’am, but it sounded important. They have an accent, but I couldn’t place it.’‘

And her face paled, that sickness threatening to bubble up out of her mouth as she moved quickly, grabbing the phone. She must have looked scared because the woman was already pressing her lips into a thin line. 

‘‘Leave me, please --- ‘‘ She whispered, waiting for the woman to leave before she shakily brought the phone to her ear, brows furrowing as she gulped thickly, and their voice filled the crackling phone with a deep rumbling chuckle. 

‘‘I think we need to have a talk, don’t you?’‘

Hi, I am Samed Ayman Almisshal, 15-year-old, I and my family have been displaced from northern Gaza to the south (Rafah then Khanyounis) since November.

We live in a tent is cloth pieces, the tent is very hot in the day and very cold in the night ,The winter approached and we will sink at the first rain, my father has asthma, yet he is forced to set fire to cooking daily because of the high price of gas.

We live with the suffering of water mobilization from far away because of its unavailability in our region of Khanyunis, We haven't eaten meat and fruit in months because of their expensive prices.

I created this link to help my father and brothers provide our basic needs and buy a good tent waterproof, and to get out of the Gaza Strip when the Rafah crossing is opened.

Every day we need 50 euros to buy good food and clean water.

My mother is stuck in Egypt without any source of income with my sister, who went to be treated before the war.

I hope you will support and help me and my family to get out of Gaza and start a new life after we have lost our home and businesses 🙏.

Unit Teambuilding - Variety Mallow

I am someone prone to pettiness.  We know this.  Remember Victor?  I remember Victor.  And while I generally have tried to be more fair, sometimes there is a line.  Shiinotic is that line.  I’m sorry, I hate this thing.  Morelull was such a cute mushroom design, and it evolves into this gross alien mushroom with a diaper.  And it’s a variety scout of all things.  I’m not a big fan of Mallow either so this whole sync pair just rubs me entirely the wrong way.  Everything about this bothers me.

Okay, I’m done complaining.  Moving on.

General Overview Mallow is a Grass-type support who focuses on special attack and crit.  +4 special attack, +2 crit, +1 accuracy.  It’s fine, but 1MP means not capping crit unless 3/5, don’t you love that in a support?  Moreover, no way to cap special attack.  X Sp Def All gives bulk, and Shielded on grid makes it mixed bulk.  Giga Drain is survival, and her gimmick is recovering HP when hitting a paralyzed opponent, which she sets up with Stun Spore.  She also debuffs attack when she hits a paralyzed foe with a healing move, and can debuff special attack too from her grid.  So to sum up, she’s a paralysis unit with good personal healing, that can debuff both offenses, and rapid-fire buff specially offensive sync pairs.

You ready for the windfall?

Champion Stadium isn’t happening.  Unless you’re on-type, Vampire Tanks don’t work.  Her debuffs only work with paralysis, which removes the ability to work with other status options, unlike V!Agatha who could use any status.  Nothing spreads, so no AoE para or debuffing.  A 3-bar move on a slow support is not good, and her solutions for gauge are not placed well, so they rarely come in.  Grid heavily demands Team Sharp Entry for her to cap crit if literally nothing else, and it sharply cuts into her energy reserves.  Her self-healing is going to be only okay, dependent on her damage and the passive recovery of hitting a paralyzed opponent, the latter condition of which slows down her rotations.  Her team healing is locked only to Synchro Healing, a decent skill for supporting DPS units, but otherwise hogs sync for herself.  While her Gauntlet utility is fairly high, combining strong self-healing, debuffing of both offenses, and boosting both defenses for survival, Mallow is fairly slow acting at the role.

I feel like V!Mallow is going to be decent for people who care a lot about Gauntlet streaks, but broadly not as useful.  Very similar to Kiawe, she feels like a pair that has broad, far-reaching utility, but functionally is only better than stuff you likely have for a handful of niche situations.

EX and Move Level? Support, so EX encouraged.  Support, so 3/5 required to do much of anything frankly.  Mallow’s basic skills are...okay, but not exceptional.  You lose full buffing of crit and team healing with 3/5, but you retain the pretty significant buff from her trainer move.

Team 1: V!Mallow, Erika, Blaine/Tech Ninetales I am trying, admittedly very hard, to make something stupid work.  V!Mallow quickly caps out offenses, more or less, and supplements Erika’s defensive bulk, while debuffing offenses of the foe when paralyzed.  Given that Erika’s sync condition is paralysis, this is a decent match, just add some Sun.  I’m probably aiming too low for Erika to succeed with, but let’s all just pretend a moment shall we?

Team 2: V!Mallow, Clair, Lucas/Winona Another that’s probably aiming way too low, but Clair actually gets most of what she wants from Mallow’s single trainer move.  Mallow even paralyzes, which is one of Clair’s big multipliers.  You can add in Dragon Zone, or if you’re aiming a bit cheaper, Winona for Rain.

Team 3: V!Mallow, Lance, Lucian Alternatively, V!Mallow can support 3/5 Lance pretty well, thanks to the specific buff combination she provides.  She patches up accuracy, saving an expensive node, and his Ramp Up 2/Critical Eye can cover what’s missing.  It does nothing for his sync, but Hyper Beam DPS is never a truly bad call.  Lucian has to be mentioned at least once.  As a guy who buffs team speed while debuffing special defense, he’s ideal to partner with Mallow, who sustains in part off her absorption effect, and is otherwise painfully slow.

Team 4: V!Mallow, P!Serena, Anni N The last thing I’ll mention is Mallow’s debuffs.  Mercifully, they are consistent, pending the foe is paralyzed.  Palentine’s Serena offers speed for the team, and an AoE paralysis, while the debuffs and fast-acting setup is great for Anni N.

Final Thoughts Just like with Kiawe, Variety Mallow feels like an odd niche pair that exists to fill in for very specific picks.  Clair is the notable one.  Fixing accuracy, buffing needed sp atk/crit in one move, and applying paralysis solves for a lot. V!Mallow is legitimately the next best thing after SS Kris.  Presumably, base Erika also appreciates her, and the +1 accuracy with near full buff support makes her a surprise partner to Lance.

But that’s kinda it.  Niche utility does not a worthwhile limited pair make.  It’s a notable step above Kiawe.  But we are like three days from datamine.  Save your gems.  Whatever’s coming next month is going to be anniversary bait, there is absolutely no way they can’t outdo this.

Maggie could feel it. Alex was slipping away from her and she needed to do everything she possibly could to make sure that didn’t happen. Even if that meant being the overbearing person she never wanted to be. But if it meant she got at least another night with the love of her life, it was going to be more than worth it. She watched the time, counting down the hour, her excitement building with every passing minute. Maggie tried to distract herself with the television and cleaning the whole apartment, but it seemed to only make the hour go by slower. 

By the time she heard the door open, she was already showered and clad in Alex’s favorite silk nighty. Maggie greeted her at the door and despite the animosity their texts, she was happy to see her. It was why she was acting the way she was, because she just wanted to have her there. And her being the clingy, demanding girlfriend seemed to be the only way to get Alex to come home. Maggie wrapped her arms around her girlfriend’s neck and pressed a kiss to the crook of her neck. “Hi, baby.”
