Date Night | Dominer

PLACE: Columbus & downtown Lima.

NOTES: DJ and Parker celebrate his last day of summer camp and Parker surprises him a few times. They make things officially official.

Parker pulled down her shirt before she slipped on her flip flops and pocketed her phone. She wanted this to be a great night for them both, since they havent gone on a date since they got together and since her car accident. She glanced around her room, not seeing anything except for the cupcakes she had baked, but those were for later. She opened up her door, met with PJ and petted her. "Hi baby, daddy and I will be back later." She replied, kissed her head and checked the time. "Hey babe, can you see if PJ has enough water and food?"

DJ was by the couch putting it watch on that was on the table there. He heard Parker's voice from the other room and walked to the kitchen to fill PJ's bowls. DJ was excited to finally be going out with Parker. Things were so crazy after the accident and then DJ got so busy with the last weeks of camp that they never actually went on a proper date together. Parker had said that she had a surprise for him and he was always nervous about surprises but coming from her he knew it would be great. "I'm ready" he said making his way towards her. "You look gorgeous" he smiled as he looked her up and down.

Parker nodded before she told PJ to be good for their roommates and glanced up to see DJ, grinned when she took in his appearance. "And you look handsome." She said as she felt her cheeks heat up as he looked her up and down and kissed his lips. "I figured we can come back here for dessert?" She raised an eyebrow.

DJ raised an eyebrow back at her. "Like food dessert or dessert dessert?" he asked as he moved one hand around her waist, pulling her in closer. He leaned down and pressed his lips against hers. "Either way it sounds good to me" He said as he pulled away and smiled. DJ followed her out of the apartment and to the car. "You wanna drive since I have no idea where we are going?" he asked.

Parker hummed a bit as she placed a hand against his chest. "You'll find out later." She smirked as she felt him wrapped an arm around her waist and returned the kiss. "Good." She gave him a smile, led them out and nodded as she held out her hand for the keys. "Sounds good to me as along you trust me to drive with one hand." She smirked, knowing that she hadnt any pain medicine since that morning.

DJ handed her the keys. "I trust you" he smiled. DJ wasn't sure if she was ready to drive again but today was a good time as any to start. He got into the passenger seat and buckled up. He had watched her so closely the last couple weeks, DJ wished he could do more. With everything going on with his grandpa he worried about Parker just as much. He always felt like he wasnt doing enough for people sometimes. Like he could be doing more to help even if Parker didn't always want to be waited on hand and foot.

Parker grabbed the keys and kissed his cheek before she gotten into the drivers seat after a few deep breaths. She was ready to drive, but wasn't for sure how her body would react to driving again. She put the key into the ignition after putting on her seatbelt and turned on the car. She pulled out of the parking space, making sure that it was clear and headed to the restaurant. "So, how was the last day of camp?"

DJ watched her carefully as they left the apartments. "it was good. I'm kind sad because I really got attached to the kids but they made me this cute card. Some of them aren't coming back next summer. Actually the camp manager was wondering if I wanted to do managing next summer but I don't know" he shrugged. "I really wanna focus on school and I won't be around the kids as much if I'm a manager you know." he said leaning back in his seat.

Parker nodded as he spoke, slowed down a bit and took the turn. "Aw, does it say we love you Twix? That sucks, and oh really? Baby, that would be amazing!!" She said as she glanced over at him and glanced back ahead. "That's true and I know that the kids will miss Twix, a lot." She slowed down and stopped a stop light.

DJ "Yeah pretty much" he laughed. "Yeah I have to think about it. Thankfully I have all year. Who knows what I'll be doing this time next year" he looked over at her and smiled. "You doing okay?" he asked hoping she was okay driving.

Parker smiled and nodded. "Yeah, that's definitely a plus and true, we never know what the future holds." She agreed and shrugged a bit. "Kinda, yeah."

DJ looked at her and he put his hand on her knee. "I can drive if you want you just have to tell me where we are going" he said. DJ didn't want her to get overwhelmed.

Parker nodded as she slowed down and pulled off to the side of the road. "There's a new restaurant across from the bakery." She replied softly as she put the car into park and looked at him. "I'm sorry...I thought I could drive and not get too freak out."

Parker gripped the steering wheel a bit as she nodded and swallowed hard. She slowed down as she put on her blinker, pulled over and put the car into park before she placed her hand over his. "The restaurant's down the street from the bakery, it has a black sign that has a witty saying on it." She said as she glanced at him and ran her finger against the side of his hand. "I'm sorry, I thought I would be okay driving again."

DJ knew looked over at her. "It's okay" he said. "You don't have to apologize. You went through a lot and its okay to not be ready to drive again" he lifted her hand and kissed it gently. 'Come on lets switch" he got out of the car and went around to the drivers seat, switching spots. He buckled up and looked over at her. "Better?" he asked.

Parker let out a breath when she heard him and nodded. "Okay." She whispered before she gotten out and buckled up before she gave him a small smile. "Yeah, thank you." She kissed his cheek before she rested against the seat as she relaxed.

DJ put the car in drive and he drove down to where she said they were going. He reached one hand out to hold hers. DJ would do anything for her. Seeing her in the hospital bed that day was really scary for him. He remembers it like it was yesterday and he knew that no matter what he had to always protect her. They got to the restaurant and he parked out in front. "This looks cool" he said.

Parker held his hand as they drove, hoped that things will get better. She nodded as she agreed. "Yeah, I heard they have good food too." She said as she glanced over at him as she unbuckled and grabbed her purse from the back. "Ready?"

Parker held his hand as they drove, hoped that things will get better. She didnt want to keep worrying him about her driving. Once they were there, she glanced at the building and nodded as she agreed. "Yeah, I heard it's cool in the inside. No pun intended." She said as she glanced over at him as she unbuckled and grabbed her purse from the back. "Ready?"

DJ smiled and laughed a little. "Oh pun intended. You know I love the puns" he kissed her cheek and wrapped an arm around her nodding his head. "yup" DJ didn't really know exactly what to expect inside but he followed her in, knowing that if Parker liked it then he would too.

Parker grinned as she laughed. "I know, that's why I had to say it." She said as he kissed her cheek and felt his arm around her. "Alright." She wrapped an around his middle and led him in. "Wow." She glanced around, taking in the place and glanced to see the hostess smiling at them. "Hi, I have a reservation under Fabray and party of two?" The hostess glanced at the book, nodded once she found the name and grabbed two menus. "Right this way." The hostess led them to a booth away from everyone and placed their menus onto the table as Parker kept looking at the decorations and thanked her before she unwrapped her arm from around DJ and slid into the booth.

DJ raised his eyebrows. "Reservations huh? Fancy" he whispered to her as they were taken to their table." He sat across from her and got comfortable in the booth before looking over the menu. He glanced around the restaurant and then back at her. "So, I am so excited to have more free time the rest of the summer." He said. "Especially since you're off work still and we will have a lot more time together."

Parker smiled when she heard him and shrugged her other shoulder. "Yeah." She whispered back to him and rubbed his back. She placed her purse next to her, glanced at the menu and looked up at him. "I am too, because I was seriously considering kidnapping you for a weekend." She nodded with a smile. "Mhm and I know for sure that I might not go back to work right away once the cast is off because we have a month to make up for."

DJ laughed. "Kidnapping? And where would you take me huh?" DJ nodded. "Well either way I will have more time with you and that's all that matters to me" he looked at the menu again as the waiter asked for their drink orders. When he left DJ looked back over at her. "So what are you gonna get?" he asked curiously.

Parker "Somewhere with a beach, dog friendly hotel and somewhere fun." Parker replied with a smile and nodded when she heard him. "That matters to me, too." She ordered an Ice Tea and glanced back at the menu before she looked at her boyfriend. "Im stuck between Chicken Parmesan or the bite size. What about you?"

DJ "That sounds awesome" he smiled. "Chicken Parm sounds awesome. I think I might go with the garlic pasta though. Maybe breadsticks?" he looked over at her. After a while they had ordered and got their food pretty quickly. DJ reached over and stole a bit from her plate. "Oh that's good I think I'm gonna get that next time for sure." he nodded.

Parker nodded and smiled when he mentioned breadsticks. "Why is that even a question, breadsticks all the way." She teased him. She pushed her plate towards him before she stole a bite from his plate and was surprised how great it tasted. "Thats good too and I wonder if they could just combine the two dinners together next time."

DJ laughed. "Maybe next time we can just share dinners" he nodded. "I mean you already steal my food anyways" He teased her. DJ licked his lips and looked over at her. "So what else do you have planned for my first night of freedom?" he asked.

Parker laughed as she nodded and looked at him. "You do the same mister." She teased back and took a sip of her drink after placing her fork down. She licked her lips as she thought the next thing to do and looked over him with a smile. "Do you remember that car that you drove to Prom?"

DJ "Yeah because your food just is better sometimes!" he laughed. DJ raised his eyebrows at her question. "How could I forget that car. Still my dream car to this day" he laughed. "Why did you buy me a car?" he joked.

Parker "Same with yours!" Parker agreed and saw his eyebrows raised at her question. "That's true." She slowly nodded as she noted and shook her head. "No, one of my friends from work knows this one guy who has a ton of them and he's letting us borrow one for the rest of the night. I already talked to the owner of the restaurant to let us keep the car here until we return the other car."

DJ "Seriously?" he asked. "Wow I can't believe you didn't buy me a car what kind of girlfriend are you?" he joked and pretended to get up and leave. He laughed and smiled. "Babe that's awesome. I'm so excited. I havent been in one of those cars since Prom!" he smiled.

Parker nodded. "Seriously." She replied with a smile and laughed as she shrugged. "Apparently not a great one." She watched him and raised an eyebrow before she shook her head. "I can tell that you're excited and I know! So I figured, its your first night of freedom and matter as well drive in style. Since I was thinking we can go on a small road trip to Columbus. Where we can explore the city before we have dessert."

DJ looked at her surprised. "Seriously?" He asked. "That's awesome." After dinner they went outside seeing the car parked out front and he smiled. "Oh man I forgot how much I love these babies" he smiled and put his hand on the hood. "You're the best girlfriend ever you know that?" He said looking over at her.

Parker "Yeah, seriously." Parker pointed out and smiled as he looked at the car. "Well, its been quite a while." She pulled out her camera, took a picture of him with his hands on the hood and shrugged a bit as she placed the camera back into her purse. She shook her head as she walked towards him. "I try to be."

DJ wrapped his arms around Parker's waist and pulled her in as he leaned against the car. "You are" he said softly. DJ leaned forward and he pressed his lips against hers. He searched her eyes as he pulled away and licked his lips. "Alright, you wanna be my navigator?" he asked as he teased her and winked. He opened his hand for the keys, knowing that she definitely was not ready to drive his own truck much less a fast car like this one.

Parker placed her hands on his shoulders once he wrapped his arms around her and leaned against him. "And you're the best boyfriend ever." She replied softly. She returned the kiss and swallowed some. "Sure." She smiled as she pulled out the keys and placed them into his hand. Thankful that he was going to drive, since she wasnt ready at all and pulled out some CDs. "I figured we need some tunes and the only way to have that is, going old school."

DJ slipped into the front seat, putting his hands on the wheel for a moment before buckling up. He looked over at the CDs in Parkers hand. "Awesome, I'm ready." He started the car and sighed. "I miss this" He chuckled and looked over at her. It was like Prom all over again except for the drunken party mess. He realized that even back then he was falling in love with her. He remembered how it felt to see her sitting in the car. It was almost like deja vu. He smiled and pulled out onto the street. "Pop in those jams!" he said referring to the CDs she had ready.

Parker buckled up, feeling the deja vu since it was felt like they were transported back in time. Except they were slightly older than they were back in high school. She placed the purse onto the floor, as she relax and smiled when she heard him. "Alright." She said with a laugh and pop in a mix CD she had made back in high school. She had to admit it to herself, Prom was when she had fallen in love with DJ even more. Despite not remembering what happened that night after them going to the room. She heard 'Country Grammar' fill the car as she closed the case and let out a sigh of relaxation.

DJ "Oh Nelly is super old school!" He laughed. DJ forgot how much he really remembered the words. He sang towards her glancing her way sometimes as he drove. Dancing in his seat and rapping along with the song. Nelly was his favorite way back when and Parker knew it. When the rapper did the whole music mashup with Tim McGraw was when DJ started listening to more country music. "Okay I'm already loving this mix. When did you make this?" he asked.

Parker smiled as she nodded. "It is!" She replied and sang along when it was Ride Wit Me play as she could feel her cheeks heat up. She remembered listening to Nelly through the walls of the Jones and didnt help that he had liked the rapper. "Back in high school before I moved in, actually." She answered as she glanced over at him and glanced back ahead before she typed in the address into the navigation of the place before she forgot.

DJ nodded. "See you even knew me so well back then" he smiled at her. DJ glanced at the directions on the screen as he drove and he followed where it said to go. They spent most of the trip singing and dancing together in the car as they made their way towards Columbus. It wasn't that bad of a drive but it wasn't super close either and DJ enjoying being in his dream car anyways. "Dude these speakers are so good though, I feel like I'd blow them out really fast." He laughed.

Parker shrugged a bit as she glanced over at him with a smile. "That I did, I guess it helped that we got along so well back then too." She glanced back ahead. She crossed her leg over the other one as they singing and dance. She laughed as she nodded as she agreed. "Yeah you would, remember that one time you had to repair your speakers after having your truck for a day?" She teased and knew that he cared about his speakers.

DJ "We always did" he smiled at her. "Okay that was not my fault! Those were really shitty speakers, and the guy I bought it from did not tell me how shitty they were until after I bought it and found out. But now I have awesome speakers in that truck. Even if I do listen to music pretty loud. But these are crazy good but they'd just get worn out so fast because I wouldn't wanna do anything but drive around in this car." he laughed. "It's not great on gas but...its a beauty" He smiled at her. DJ reached out to hold her hand. Dilemma came on and DJ started to sing the Kelly parts to Parker. He laughed and kissed her hand gently.

Parker returned the smile as she looked at him and nodded. "Yeah." She simply said. She laughed as she agreed, knowing he would be driving all over Lima and wasn't for sure she would be seeing him again and they were shitty speakers. "Yeah and you would be screwed." She pointed out with a smile as she glanced back at him. "Not really." She happily gave him her hand, despite of the cast and heard Dilemma play, knowing that she could relate to the Kelly parts, especially when they were dating someone else. She could feel her cheeks turn beat red as he sang to her before she stuffed her face into his arm and felt him kissed her hand.

DJ nodded. "I would be screwed yes." DJ laughed a little as she blushed. It was the cutest sight he had ever seen. Seeing her to happy made him happy. He liked that he could be that person for her. Even before they were dating she always made him happy. Not much changed since they were together, except for the kissing and DJ really, really enjoyed the kissing. They hadn't actually been together intimately yet because DJ was nervous about her cast being on so they decided to wait a while. DJ glanced over at her, continuing to drive and he smiled. "When do you get the cast off again?" he asked.

Parker rested her head against his arm as she enjoyed being close to him and made sure she wasn't going to be a problem with him driving. He truly made her happy, even in high school and she hoped that she made him happy as well. She felt bad about being intimate because of the cast and she was afraid that she could knock him out in one swift move and she couldn't do that. "Three weeks from now and then we'll be able to do anything." She smirked when she glanced over at him and glanced ahead as she relaxed against the seat.

DJ raised his eyebrows at her and he licked his lips. "Anything anything?" He asked. "So I can finally plan that hiking trip I wanna go on with you" he said joking, her knowing very well DJ wouldn't go on no hiking trip. He smirked at her. "I'm sure you're excited to get it off and take regular showers soon. Also maybe...shared showers" he shrugged his shoulder acting all innocent.

Parker slowly nodded as he spoke and glanced over at him as she played it cool. "Yep, anything anything." She replied and shook her head as she playfully hit his chest with her cast. "Funny." She raised an eyebrow when he mentioned shared showers. "Im pretty excited for it to come off, actually and that I am. I wouldn't mind shared showers, since that would mean that we can save water." She causally said as she glanced over at him and back ahead. "Im sure you're excited for me to have it off, too."

DJ faked being hurt when she hit him. "ow!" He laughed. "Oh yeah...totally you know for the environment and everything" he nodded. "Of course I am. We've been really careful since you got it on and when you get it off we can go back to being our reckless fun selves." He smiled over at her. They drove for a long time and soon got to their destination. DJ wasn't sure exactly what they were gonna do in Columbus but he knew Parker had it all planned out.

Parker laughed. "Whatever." She said as she glanced at him and glanced back ahead. "Yep, totally for the environment and save money on the bill.." She nodded as he spoke, glanced at him again with a smile. Once they got there, she gotten out and glanced back at him with a smile before she gestured one of her fingers for him to follow her.

DJ nodded. "It's a win-win then" He smirked. DJ got out of the car and locked it once they parked and he looked over at her across the car. He followed her and reached out for her hand. "So where are we going?" he asked curiously.

Parker smirked as she nodded as well. "Definitely." She replied. She took his hand as she hummed a bit, swung their hands and glanced over at him as she led him to a studio and stopped once they reached the doors. She leaned against the door as she kept a hold of his hand and smiled at him. "Its a surprise."

DJ held her hand and laughed. "Yeah well, should I be closing my eyes or something then?" he asked. DJ looked around and he couldnt really recognize that it was a studio because it just looked like a normal building downtown. He walked through the doors with her, following right behind her, still curious as to what she was doing.

Parker nodded. "You should, when we get inside." She replied. She was excited to show him all of her pictures, since she knew how much he had liked them. "Okay." She slowed down before she reached her name and looked at him. "Now, close your eyes."

DJ followed her inside and he closed his eyes. He reached out his hands for her, hesitantly walking where she lead him. He hated surprises and he was nervous. His heart was pounding really fast but he was trusting Parker that she knew what she was doing and where she was going. "Can I open them yet?" He asked wanting to peek.

Parker caressed the back of his hands as she led them. She smiled as she stepped to the side of him and glanced ahead. "Yeah, you can." She grinned, hoped that he would like this surprise.

DJ finally opened his eyes and he looked around. He smiled at her. "What is all this?" He asked.

Parker smiled when she saw his smile and cleared her throat. "Well, since I know how much you like my photography. While you were at camp, I looked around for a small space to display my pictures." She said before she led him further into the space where all of the pictures she had taken, was hanging up. Including the one from prom. "I tried to find one in Lima, that didn't work so well. So I came out here and found this place. I talked to the owner, explained that I wanted to do something for my boyfriend and ta-da." She said as she stopped in front of them and turned to look at him. "What do you think?"

DJ looked around the room and he smiled. "Parks this is so great!" He said softly. DJ took her hand and he walked by each photo with her. "I'm so proud of you babe." He stopped at the Prom picture and took a breath. It was such a flashback to see it. "I forgot my hair was so long back then." He laughed.

Parker "Thank you." She smiled when she heard him and automatically interlaced their fingers together. "Thank you baby." She looked at all of the pictures with him, remembering each memory. She laughed as she shook her head and pushed her hair back. "Yeah, well. You do look good with long and short hair. Even though you didn't have your braids at prom."

DJ smiled. "Maybe I should grow them back out then huh?" he asked. Joking obviously because it was just not a look that DJ could pull off anymore. He was a grown man. DJ kissed the side of her hand and he wrapped his arms around her. "This is a good surprise" he said. "I think it's really amazing. You know I always thought your photos were beautiful. Especially ones with us in them"

Parker shrugged a bit with smile and knew that he was joking. "Maybe." She replied. She felt him kiss her hand and leaned against him when she felt his arms around her. She grinned when he said it was a good surprise. "Thank you baby." She nodded, remembering every time he would join her in the dark room at the high school. "I know and Im not being bias or anything but, those happen to be my favorite."

DJ laughed. "Yeah me too. I mean I like any picture that has you in it." DJ continued to look at the photos and he sighed happily. After a few minutes he turned to Parker. "So what else are we doing tonight?" he asked.

Parker "Its because you have the hots for me, its okay to admit it now babe." Parker replied as she looked up at him and took in his features. She hummed a bit before she looked at him. "Well, the only thing left that I planned is currently back at the apartment, waiting for us. Unless you have something you wanna do then we can do that."

DJ laughed. "Of course I do" he said coming up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. "What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't?" DJ raised his eyebrows and he shook his head. "Nope I'm cool with going home!" he said quickly. "K lets go" he laughed and took her good hand, pulling her along jokingly.

Parker grinned when she heard him and placed her hands on his arms before she shrugged. "Do you want me to answer that?" She questioned as she glanced at him and gave him a smirk. She let out a laugh when she him and felt him pull her along before she started to run with him. "Bet you to the car!" She dropped his hand, stuck her tongue out at him before she started to run ahead of him and towards the car.

DJ "Rhetorical question" He smiled. DJ gasped when she pulled away from her and started to run off. He laughed and ran after her outside and towards the car. "Okay...not fair you got a headstart you cheater" he teased her. DJ unlocked the car and he slipped into the drivers seat. "Ready to go home?" He asked her.

Parker "Mhm." She nodded. Parker let out another laugh and leaned against the car as she caught her breath with a smile when she saw him. "Pfft whatever. We can have a do over when we back home." She got into the passenger side, slipped into the passenger seat and glanced at him with a smile with a nod. "I am, yeah."

DJ pulled out of the parking lot and they were headed on their way back home. He smiled over at her and put his hand on her thigh as he drove. They listened to music and talked all the way home. It was starting to get dark by the time they arrived home. He parked the car out front and locked it. "I just want to cuddle up with you all night." He smiled.

Parker smiled as she heard him and unlocked the apartment before she led him into the living room. She placed her keys back onto the hook and placed her hands on his chest as she looked at him. "Well, lucky for you. I have no where else to go, except my bedroom. I'll be right back." She pecked his lips, headed into her room as she said hello to PJ and grabbed the cupcakes before she covered it up then walked back towards him. "I baked you something." She presented it to him. "I know I shouldnt have been baking, but I wanted to do this for you."

DJ tossed his keys on the counter and took off his shoes as soon as he got into the apartment. He smiled and kissed her back before she walked off. "Okay" He shook his head when she said she had been baking. Of course she was. She tended to do what she wanted no matter what and that was one thing he loved about her. "How can I resist when you give me those puppy dog eyes that are more adorable than PJ?" he asked. DJ uncovered the cupcakes and he smiled. It was a flashback to prom and the cupcakes that he had made for her. He raised his eyebrows and reached in taking the cupcake that said 'boy'. He took a bit and nodded. "Yeah sure I'll be your friend Parks but I thought we already were friends" he smirked at her. DJ leaned in and kissed her cheek. "my answer is yes by the way. Of course I wanna be your boyfriend."

I know that we’re already going out and it has been amazing. I had to legit try not smile when I went into the bakery and seen your mom asking how Im doing. I know your first thought is, why aren’t you relaxing? Because Im a stubborn and I kind of sneak out when you go to Camp. Anyways! Back to the first part. I didn’t tell her that we’re going out, because I feel like we should tell your parents together. Whenever you want, of course.

You asked me to prom, now Im asking you this.

Parker shrugged a bit with a smile, feeling her cheeks flushed a bit. "Oh I don't know, the same way I resist your puppy dog eyes every time you wanna do something." She said. She chewed on the inside of her cheek as he uncovered up the cupcakes and started to play with her fingers, out of a habit she guessed and scratched her neck. She let out a laugh as she remembered what she did and rolled her eyes as he took a bite out of the cupcake that had the word boy on it. "Gosh, I can't just ask to make sure you want to be my friend." She smiled when he kissed her cheek and looked at him. "Good, because I wanna be your girlfriend."
