1; Just curious, what is Meemaw Bucchi's preference when it comes to a partner? 2; All I imagine now is Malleus bringing a bisexual flag to his grandma to celebrate her finding love and his Grandma being very confused 😭
First of all: Maleficia would appreciate Malleus' kindness... But my goodness, she would have NO IDEA what that meant 🤣 she would be very confused!! All that would be left for Lilia, who would have to explain everything (which could take a while and would make her even more confused BUT SHE WILL GET IT! ...... Someday 😅).
Second: this answer may be long! I may end up going on too long on some subjects. Vovó Bucchi is still a character that I'm developing and details may change in the meantime!
I'm going to get one detail out of the way here, boys, girls, and non-binary pals are all valid and Vovó Bucchi loves you all ❤️😌
Well, there are a few things that are important to her before you have any kind of relationship with vovó bucchi.
- It has to be someone that Ruggie likes or approves of. He is her only family and the person she trusts the most... Of course, she won't stop seeing that person or spending time with them... But having her grandson's blessing is very important!
- Don't hurt Ruggie. She will have a place to hide your body and nobody's going to find it.
- A person who cooks well is also a good quality for her! And I say this because Mrs. Bucchi herself likes to have company in the kitchen!... Okay, not everyone can enter her kitchen besides the children and Ruggie himself... 😅 But that's because few people can keep up with her! She has a long history of practically working miracles with the little food they have access to... And many people have gotten in her way in the kitchen and wasted food that could have fed one or two more mouths. So having someone who proves that they can keep up with her and ON TOP OF THAT, not get in her way is a very positive thing.
-Take responsibility for what you said or did (ou para nós BRs: sustenta suas gracinhas). Did you say something you shouldn't have? Prove that you're sorry. Did you do something you shouldn't have? Deal with the consequences. She's already spent enough time with people who said they were sorry but kept making mistakes and hurting her, she doesn't have time for that anymore. Actions speak louder than a thousand words, so don't be surprised if she doesn't accept your apology right away.
- Is there something you believe in and will do no matter what, big or small? Are you going to work hard to get that high grade on that test? Do you want to turn the world upside down? Cause a riot? Go for it! You have her full support and she loves your determination!
- You have to like children or know how to deal with them. Vovó Bucchi always has a house full of children and from a very young age she learned and took care of them. So... If you go to visit her, know that you will have to share her attention with more... 8 or even more than 10 children there, and believe that the little ones will be the priority. 🤭 Good luck, they are all her littles brats~
- She will steal from you at some point. 🤷‍♂️ Especially at the beginning of the relationship, if you notice this she will be impressed, and maybe even give you back your things! (Don't worry, nothing she steals you will miss it... I think)
- She doesn't need your pity. Pity doesn't fill her or the little ones' stomachs, it doesn't bring money into the house, your "generosity" accompanied by pity is not welcome in her house... By the way, interesting fact, the hyena's bite is extremely strong, formed by super strong and sharp teeth, ideal for breaking bones and gnawing horns and hooves. 😉
- Always be ready to help her escape or be chased because of her... She may already be a grandmother, but she won't stay still knitting or taking care of the house, believe Ruggie when he says he's getting gray hair because of her... IT'S BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO GO A DAY WITHOUT CREATING ✨️CHAOS!!! ✨️..... At least she will teach you how to escape from the police in a practical way 😅
And the list goes on and on... I could sit here and write a long document of things about Grandma Bucchi that are important for people to have before getting involved with her, but then the answer would be long and no one wants to read an encyclopedia of I don't know how many thousand words 🫠
I think it's easier for me to introduce her little by little with drawings, or maybe comics 👀
But I think this can already give you an idea of what kind of people she likes to get involved with~... Would that be enough for you to create fanfics? hehehe~

Hello 👋 , What is your favorite portrait of Fernando VII?
What are the components that made him interesting?
What is your opinion about him?
Hello! Thank you very much
for your questions! ♡. ੭
𓈒᭡ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨 𝐕𝐈𝐈?
My favorite painting of Fernando VII is this one, portrayed by Vicente López and preserved in the Bank of Spain. It was a painting that was much criticized for showing the king in a simple and mundane way, but Fernando loved it! And I agree with him, the monarch looks very good and the iconographic elements don't need to be exaggerated and absolute to speak well of him. The aim of the work is not to transmit power, but responsibility ✧.

𓈒᭡ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠?
In my opinion, one of the most interesting aspects of Fernando VII is his first-hand testimonies. The king was passionate about reading and writing, he had a personal library full of novels — mostly romantic — and he devoted much of his free time to writing personal letters.
It offers an unprecedented view of the most important events of his reign and a completely personal vision of the Bourbon, which clashes with the current conception of his person. I recommend the biography of Fernando VII by Maria Teresa Puga, "Cartas para el rey" and "Los viajes de Fernando VII" as books that use his letters to describe in a more intimate way the personality of Fernando VII.

𓈒᭡ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐦?
Fernando VII is a very interesting character when studied in depth. I have a special appreciation for him because he's the reason why I am studying history at university, It sounds crazy, but he was the first character who really made me curious. I am not going to deny the obvious, Fernando VII was a bad king and his reign was marked by wars, crises and repressions that were completely detrimental to the country. However, in my way of studying, I think that we must first understand individuals to know what leads them to commit their acts and to place ourselves in their context.
Fernando VII is not an isolated case, the monarchies of southern Europe and Russia had the same consequences after the restoration of 1815 by not decreeing a Granted Charter or the Constitution. Many of the actions taken by the Spanish Bourbon are transnational and infiuenced by a series of positions in the government that favor their common interests. Of course, in today's collective memory, the monarch is remembered for his bad decisions and is judged for them, which is fine because he's not a good example but, when it comes to understanding the character and understanding history, we shouldn't let these decisions determine who he was as an individual, we must ask ourselves "Why did he do it?" to better understand the facts. That's why I like Fernando VII so much, because the personal and political issues are so different that they seem like two individuals in conflict.

Medical leaks au
OMG
I'm speechless
This was absolutely amazing and I'll be awaiting the next part (and wishing for a happy ending for our Marc)
First of all
'His heart stops beating. The room goes dead silent. He can feel everyone’s eyes on him, his fellow riders watching in confusion. For Marc, it is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. He looks up and catches Alex’s wide-eyed stare. He's sweating, beads rolling down the side of his neck. Shit. Fucking shit. He’s starting to think he’s not going to make it out of this press conference in one piece, torn apart by the gnashing teeth of the media.'
This whole paragraph is just mind blowing
I love how you described the media being ruthless (especially since it's Marc's pov)
'He feels like someone has taken a sledgehammer to his facade, destroying everything he has made himself be'
Destroying everything he made himself be🫠and what if I kms
'Alex is the one person he would do anything for, he would walk through hell and back to protect him. He is the only one who truly knows what happened in 2015, who knows the extent of the demons in Marc’s brain. Now they will have to face them again'
yes yes yes, their bond is something from another planet, obv no secrets between them
They really only have themselves (esp on the grid)
'The other pilots probably think he is pathetic. He doesn’t think he can deal with another reason for the others to hate him. As much as he tries to rise above it, he loathes that his colleagues cannot bring themselves to like him'
and what if I kms x2
It's sad that he thinks that everyone hates him(and will hate him more for the attempts)
He is so isolated from the rest 😭(Vale when I catch you, you better crawl on your knees to make up for what you did)
'disgusted by the consequences of Vale's war on Marc?'
Marc, no😭 pecco is just worried (and prob feeling guilty for his mentor's actions)
I hope you will explore Marc's relations with the academy boys in the future
And maybe a Vale pov reaction to the news? pretty please 🥺🙏 (kind of want a pov reaction from pedrenzo and the vr46a too)
Anyway
I think you can tell I loved this fic,
Of course I'll def love any way you take this fic(so long as it has a happy ending)
I hope Marc gets therapy, and Vale, and then they go to couples counselling
This was quite long but oh well
BIG ASK
Haha this is so exciting that you guys have so many thoughts ans ideas from my writing???? Crazy to me
I'm so glad you like the para about the media being awful, o feel like it's such a big part of Marc's real life and it sucks so bad. They're so unfair to him.
Also I really wanted to play yp the idea that Marc is always marx yes but he puts on a bit of a persona for the world and that's all come crumbling down and he DOESNT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
Your comment about Vale made me giggle because a couple of people literally say something like that in the fic later.
I love pecco, I love the idea that he really cares and doesn't want to live with Vales hatred!!!!!
Yes yes yes to the VR46 boys x marx relationship. I'd love to do that. I also wanna do a little bit of their pov/ Vales pov. Maybe as a separate work??
I haven't decided how to make it functional yet lol.
Defo a happy ending!! Don't worry, I've got you on that. There's also going to be some hurt/comfort in the next chapter, it's gonna be like dani,Alex, Jorge, dovi protecting marc as he falls apart hehe

Their screams and unbridled banging on the door echoed throughout the room. She had been doing the same thing for three days, she hadn't even taken off her blood-stained dress, her makeup was smudged and her hair was tangled.
"Let me out, shit!" He yelled again as he kicked in the door. But, once again, their cries had been ignored—"They're going to kill them if I don't come back, please," she whispered to the door before breaking away.
He walked over to the bed in the room and used it for support as he sat on the floor, and laid his back on one side.
The room was a mess, everything was destroyed due to the fits that anger and irritability they gave him due to withdrawal.
Jérémie controlled her with sedatives and other drugs combined, which is why she was never able to escape. Now he only suffered the consequences of his system not receiving these substances; The excessive sweating made her feel sticky, the nausea and anxiety had only increased since the second day.
She had slight cuts on her hands when she broke the glass things in the room, insomnia and muscle and joint pain had her tired, she just wanted it all to be over.
"They're going to kill them," he whispered again, looking at his hands almost on the verge of collapse. Despite her condition, she kept thinking about the women who were still trapped in that place.
They would kill them like cattle to erase all evidence, if she was alive the others would be killed.
His energy was running out, maybe, and just maybe, he could sleep without feeling the Frenchman's hands on his body, he could rest for a moment, at least.
She was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't hear the door open, or that anyone had entered.
"Valeria?" His weary eyes fell on his person; The woman with short black hair had blood splattered on her face, as well as on her hands.
Valeria gave a general glance at the room before looking at it.
"Disaster will cost me dearly," he thought he was going to approach her, but he walked past her to the bathroom. He heard that there would be a key, surely he was going to wash away the blood. "But it's a really insignificant thing. He came out of the bathroom with a clean face and hands. He walked over and knelt in front of her. "I have to take away all the crap you're carrying," he carefully touched her face, being careful with her split lip. "Lace doesn't go with you at all, Laurie.
Valeria hated the woman's appearance from the first moment she saw her in that church, that was not her Laurie.
But she would take it upon herself to fix everything that the French son of a bitch had changed.
"What's going on?" —the opposite of Pena and asks— You were missing, how come that...?
"The questions will come later, Dulce," he interrupts her as he strokes her cheeks.
Valeria helps her up carefully, running a hand around her waist for a better grip as she helps her walk.
He sits her down on the toilet and turns off the faucet he had left open to fill the bathtub.
Laurie allows herself to be undressed by Valeria's delicate hands, she had long missed her touch.
He felt it stop; Very surely, seeing the bruises and needle scars on his body, he heard him curse under his breath as he resumed the action.
He didn't look at her out of embarrassment, and she didn't ask anything about it either, which she appreciated, it wasn't necessary to know what had happened for her to have such marks on her skin.
She was carefully put in the bathtub, and for the first time in 5 years, she relaxed as she felt warm water and not cold water as she had been made accustomed to.
Valeria's hands were soft and light as she bathed her and brushed off her smudged makeup with a towel.
"You do it right, Dulce," the short-haired woman carefully untangled her hair as it had knots, and she knew how much it hurt to remove those knots, especially if it was on curly hair.
"They'll kill them, Valeria," Laurie says after a long time, Valeria stops momentarily before continuing, "they're going to kill them for me," the guilt escapes in the tone of her voice, her conscience blames her for what's going to happen to those poor women. "I've got to go back, if I do they won't do anything to them."
"You're not coming back, Laurie," Valeria's voice becomes cold, authoritative. Contrary to the one a moment ago.
Laurie looked at her on the verge of tears.
"I can't leave them, I can't abandon them. His trembling hand grabbed one of the Mexican's wrists, "please."
Valeria stared at her before sighing, the woman had plans to destroy everything that belonged to the Frenchman, the man had dared to touch something that was rightfully his, and she never let things go.
She didn't answer, but Laurie knew she'd think about it, she knew her so well.
Forty-five minutes into the bathroom, Laurie was taken out and changed into new, comfortable clothes, clothes they had brought while they were both in the bathroom.
The bed had even been fixed and Valeria had not hesitated to put her in the middle while she snuggled her on her chest, but not before taking off her vest.
Laurie, on the verge of falling asleep, told her something that would unconsciously make Valeria's business grow illegally.
"I have information about that place on my laptop," Valeria frowns as she watches her fall asleep.
Place? Had he saved information, and of what kind?
Valeria barely had her in her arms after several years and already had more work to do, including the idiot who had been torturing for hours.
Careful not to wake the woman, Valeria took her cell phone out of the back pocket of her pants and dialed the first number she had registered; It only took him to ring once for them to answer him.
"I'm not going to repeat what I'm going to say, you'd better listen carefully; look for the laptop in room 503 of the surgical residency dormitories in the south wing of the Sorbonne University. I don't want mistakes, they better not be screwing around.
He hung up the call and settled better in bed, his head was plotting new plans so that everything would go smoothly, in addition to the fact that they had to keep a low profile after the massacre he had committed a few days ago, the authorities were already getting involved, he had to end everything quickly and return to Mexico.
He had business to finish as far as his territory was concerned, and the constant troubles with the Cowboys was a rope he couldn't let loose, at least not for long. They were a plague that I should have at least controlled.
It would be a very long week; full of stress and tension, plus there would be bloodshed... Perhaps it was a good thing that he made himself known to the French.
It could stir up the hornet's nest.
Chapters: teaser, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...
the chapter is a little short, please bear with me as I get used to posting on tumblr :) comments, likes and reblogs are much appreciated.

Hey...does anyone remember iole?
She was one of the wives of Heracles in Greek mythology, she was a beautiful princess daughter of King Eurytus of Oechalia, who had offered his daughter's hand in marriage, however he had rejected Heracles as his daughter's husband due to what had happened to Megara and his children, what did Heracles do? Simple, HE LOATED HER CITY, KILLED HER FAMILY AND TOOK IOLE AWAY BY FORCE, their love story was not an enjoyable one for Iole.
It doesn't help at all to see that in the artistic representations of iole she never looks happy and even looks a little scared, she was in a highly dangerous situation with a man who ripped her away from her family and took her as a trophy, and He did not settle with her and in that same period of time he began to court Deyanira😒
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now why am I talking about this character that almost no one remembers? Because I think it would have a lot of potential for Hades, specifically the second part where we meet Heracles personally.
We know that Heracles, being favored by the gods, can leave the underworld, and I imagine that at this moment there could be two paths for Iole:
1) she is alive and trying to rebuild her life: in mythology she left home with the eldest son of Heracles but I prefer to think that here she would stay single or with another man, this is the possibility that most favors Iole.
2) she is dead and with her family in the underworld: here comes the guilt that Heracles could feel upon seeing her again, she would be afraid of him and her family would have contempt for him, this is my favorite since it puts bad actions on the table of Heracles and shows the consequences it had on third parties.
I imagine that in both cases, as a sign of solidarity, Heracles would try to avoid running into Iole because 1) he recognizes the fear she must have of him and 2) he knows that he doesn't deserve to be near her after everything he put her through
Something else that I found interesting about Iole is that at no time did Deyanira try to get rid of Iole, she being the reason why Heracles stopped paying attention to her, knowing what jealous wives are like in Greek mythology, I was surprised not to find a story where Deyanira takes revenge on Iole or treats her badly.
My vision is that Deyanira is a girls girl and had no resentment towards Iole because she saw how sad she looked being with the murderer of her family, probably thanks to this she thought that if she made Heracles only love her she would leave Iole in peace or I would let her go at best.
The thing that make me believe this is the myth where iole makes heracles wear women clothes and she wears the clothes of the hero, heracles only wanted to flaunt his great deeds but deyanira told him to not keep talking and accept his place(i know that the most popular version is that the queen onfale did that but i like this one too bc iole in this version avenges her father's death)
What if we made iole and deyanira kiss?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

this is very very niche because i don't know how many of you listen to mid-2000s opm (original pinoy music) but sundo by imago is The moz/ulysses song
youtube
lyrics + my translation of the lyrics + some explanations under the cut!!
first off, tagalog has two specific words for bringing someone somewhere: "hatid" and "sundo" - hatid is when you drop someone off, and sundo is when you pick them up
they both mean essentially the same thing (taking someone somewhere), but hatid has a connotation of accompanying someone and then leaving them, while sundo implies that you're picking someone up to bring them home... also, for me, pagsundo is quite romantic, because usually a sundo would have come from somewhere else and would have gone out of their way to fetch you just so you could both go home together!! a hatid would just bring you where you need to be and then leave to go their own way lmao
anyway. the song! it's super sweet, and i think it really fits moz and ulysses, with moz as the sundo and ulysses as the sinusundo
note: my translation is going to be pretty literal lmao
kay tagal kong sinusuyod ang buong mundo para hanapin ka nilibot ang distrito ng iyong lumbay pupulutin ka
i've been combing through the whole world to find you i visited the district of your melancholy i will pick you up
this verse is from moz's perspective - she's gone through zion, the big mt, the sierra madre, and the divide, not to mention the whole mojave wasteland, at this point; she's been following ulysses's footsteps, seen the consequences of his (and her) actions, and while she can, more or less, let go of what these places have done to her and she has done to them, she knows that ulysses is still mired in them, especially the divide (the district of [his] melancholy), and she'll be the one to pick him up from that place, literally and figuratively
sinusundo kita asahan mo mula ngayon pag-ibig ko'y sa 'yo
i am fetching you you can expect that starting now, my love is yours
pretty self-explanatory chorus... she's fetching ulysses from the divide to come live with her!! and once they're out of that hellhole, ulysses can rest assured that all of moz's love is his
sa akin mo isabit ang pangarap mo 'di kukulangin ang ibibigay isuko ang kaba, tuluyan kang bumitaw manalig ka
you can hang your dreams on me i won't give anything less give up the nervousness, completely let go you should have faith
falling in love is something that is so scary, especially in the fallout universe. it leaves you so vulnerable and fragile and soft, and who can afford that, in the wasteland? especially knowing ulysses's history - i don't think love can blossom in the legion's ranks without it being suppressed violently, and he's been living on his own for a while now; how long since the last time he's felt tender hands on him? - so i can see him approaching his feelings for moz with apprehension, but while it does take moz a while to realize the depth of her feelings for him, once she does, she's all in. she lets him know, assures him of her love everyday, tells him to let go, begin again, come home to her... and he does.
handa na sa liwanag mo sinuyod ang buong mundo naghihintay sa 'yong sundo
ready for your light combed through the whole world waiting for you to fetch me
now this part (the second voice during the last chorus of the song) is from ulysses's perpective :) he's been through shit, he's seen so much, and actually now that he's thought about it, he's been waiting for her to fetch him! ough he's just... he's fucking ready!!!!
god, okay, sorry, i just have a lot of feelings because of this song, this ship, and this song in relation to this ship! if you've come this far, thank you for indulging me!! mwa mwa labyu!!!!

(Me again! Previously I had bothered you in DMs about an article, but figured it might be better to send an ask in this case.) On the topic of environmental concerns, I did have a question about James Hansen's 'Global Warming in the Pipeline' which was published last year. A previous (and rather bleak) Medium article you analyzed had cited this particular paper as proof that we're on track to exceed 3C in our lifetimes, even if emissions were to suddenly halt today. https://pubs.giss.nasa.gov/abs/ha09020b.html Since this paper has now passed peer review, what exactly does this mean in simplistic terms? I understand this means that the climate scientists that have analyzed the paper agree with what it states (and see no issues with it's logic), but does it actually mean we'll reach 4C by 2100? Or have I misunderstood what this is stating? The only way I see this not being the case is if somehow Hansen's paper later turns out to be incorrect (which seems unlikely).
I also understand that the paper heavily advocates for a level of geoengineering, which I think is a better alternative to letting a large majority of people suffer, but I'm not sure if you have any opinions on when you think that'd be best to do.
oooh, i've put off answering this because it's perhaps a bit above my pay grade, but let's see
so as far as passing peer review - it's hard to say how robust that is in terms of whether you should believe its conclusions. it depends a lot on the field, the reviewers, and so on - papers are retracted frequently, even if the initial round of reviewers advised to publish.
in climate science we are engaged in a spectacularly difficult modelling task. this paper also speaks on a pretty broad range of subjects. let me quote the full abstract, adding some paragraph breaks:
Improved knowledge of glacial-to-interglacial global temperature change yields Charney (fast-feedback) equilibrium climate sensitivity 1.2±0.3°C (2σ) per W/m2, which is 4.8°C±1.2°C for doubled CO2. Consistent analysis of temperature over the full Cenozoic era — including 'slow' feedbacks by ice sheets and trace gases — supports this sensitivity and implies that CO2 was 300-350 ppm in the Pliocene and about 450 ppm at transition to a nearly ice-free planet, exposing unrealistic lethargy of ice sheet models. Equilibrium global warming for today's GHG amount is 10°C, which is reduced to 8°C by today's human-made aerosols. Equilibrium warming is not 'committed' warming; rapid phaseout of GHG emissions would prevent most equilibrium warming from occurring. However, decline of aerosol emissions since 2010 should increase the 1970-2010 global warming rate of 0.18°C per decade to a post-2010 rate of at least 0.27°C per decade. Thus, under the present geopolitical approach to GHG emissions, global warming will exceed 1.5°C in the 2020s and 2°C before 2050. Impacts on people and nature will accelerate as global warming increases hydrologic (weather) extremes. The enormity of consequences demands a return to Holocene-level global temperature. Required actions include: (1) a global increasing price on GHG emissions accompanied by development of abundant, affordable, dispatchable clean energy, (2) East-West cooperation in a way that accommodates developing world needs, and (3) intervention with Earth's radiation imbalance to phase down today's massive human-made 'geo-transformation' of Earth's climate. Current political crises present an opportunity for reset, especially if young people can grasp their situation.
As I've split it, the first paragraph is a quantitative statement about equilibrium warming, which is the paper's scientific contribution. The second paragraph adds some qualifiers about the expected trajectory "under the present geopolitical approach". The third para is a political argument - a 'what is to be done' type statement.
That's a lot to cover in one paper! It also invites different kinds of approaches to peer review. A scientist reviewing the first half of this paper would be making a technical analysis: do Hansen et al look at the right data, analyse it rigorously, etc. etc.
Why is this all so complicated? Well, lots of things change on Earth when it gets hotter and colder. The amount of cloud coverage, the amount of ice, the way the oceans mix hot and cold water, etc. etc., the amount of dust and soot in the air from forest fires - all of this affects how much energy comes into the atmosphere, how much gets reflected into space, etc etc.
The main things that the paper talks about are...
the equilibrium climate sensitivity: basically, if you add a bunch of extra energy to the system (what climate scientists call 'forcing'), once everything settles down, what temperature do you end up at, per unit of forcing?
the speed of various feedbacks - how quickly the clouds, ice, etc. etc. change in response to the forcing, which determines how quickly you approach this final equilibrium temperature. Knowing which feedbacks are fast and slow is important since it tells us what we can expect to happen when we cut CO2 emissions.
It's naturally a pretty involved discussion and I don't pretend to have the background to follow all the ins and outs of it, but Hansen et al. use various lines of evidence to try to assess these parameters, see how they affect climate models, and the like. They perform an analysis of how temperature and estimated CO2 varied during the Cenozoic era, and there's a section on estimating the effects of aerosols, both natural and human-made.
On the subject of aerosols, Hansen et al. suggest that previous climate models may have made two mistakes that cancelled each other out:
Recent global warming does not yield a unique ECS [Equilibrium Climate Sensitivity] because warming depends on three major unknowns with only two basic constraints. Unknowns are ECS, net climate forcing (aerosol forcing is unmeasured), and ocean mixing (many ocean models are too diffusive). Constraints are observed global temperature change and Earth’s energy imbalance (EEI) [80]. Knutti [150] and Hansen [75] suggest that many climate models compensate for excessive ocean mixing (which reduces surface warming) by using aerosol forcing less negative than the real world, thus achieving realistic surface warming.
What they're saying here is, though we have a pretty good idea of how much CO2 we put in the atmosphere, since we don't have a good measure of aerosols we don't actually know for sure how much energy humans were adding to the atmosphere. Like, CO2 adds energy, but sulfur dioxide reflects it away.
There's three unknown parameters here, and two constraints (things we can calculate for definite). We use a model to tell us one of those unknowns (the ocean stuff), and that allows us to tune the effect of aerosols until our model Earth matches our measurements of the real Earth. But, if our ocean model is wrong, then we end up wrongly estimating the effect of aerosols.
The upshot is that aerosols have been a bigger deal than we thought, and as the world cleans up the atmsophere and removes the amount of aerosols, the rate of warming will increase. It's definitely plausible - but it's such a complicated system that there could easily be some other nuance here.
I won't try to summarise every point in the paper but it's that kind of thing that they're arguing about here. This isn't a mathematical proof, though! Since it's touching on a huge range of different parameters, trying to draw together lots of different lines of evidence, there is still a fair bit of room for nuance. It's not so simple as 'Hansen et al. are right' or 'Hansen et al. are wrong' - they could be wrong about one thing and right about another.
To say they've passed peer review is to say that they've done as reasonable a job as anyone can expect to try and figure out this kind of messy problem. However, other scientists may still take issue with one or another claim. It's not as definitive as a maths paper.
That said, Hansen's arguments all seem pretty plausible to me. The tools he uses to assess this situation are sensible and he talks about cases where things weren't as expected (he thought that improved climate models would change in a different way, and they didn't). But while I know enough about the subject to be able to largely follow what he's saying, I'm not confident saying whether he's right.
The second half takes on a different tone...
This section is the first author’s perspective based on more than 20 years of experience on policy issues that began with a paper [179] and two workshops [180] that he organized at the East-West Center in Hawaii, followed by meetings and workshops with utility experts and trips to more than a dozen nations for discussions with government officials, energy experts, and environmentalists. The aim was to find a realistic scenario with a bright energy and climate future, with emphasis on cooperation between the West and nations with emerging or underdeveloped economies.
So this is more of a historical, political analysis section, addressing why we are on this trajectory and why scientists may be institutionally underestimating the threat ('scientific reticence', 'gradualism' and so on). Well, more precisely, it's a polemic - a scientifically informed polemic, but this is basically an editorial stapled to the science part of the paper.
This includes an account of how a previous paper ('Ice Melt') led by Hansen was reviewed, and sidelined by other scientists, for what Hansen considers unsound reasons. It leads into something of an impassioned plea by Hansen addressed at his fellow scientists, complete with rhetorical questions:
Climate science reveals the threat of being too late. ‘Being too late’ refers not only to warning of the climate threat, but also to technical advice on policy implications. Are we scientists not complicit if we allow reticence and comfort to obfuscate our description of the climate situation? Does our training, years of graduate study and decades of experience, not make us well-equipped to advise the public on the climate situation and its policy implications? As professionals with deep understanding of planetary change and as guardians of young people and their future, do we not have an obligation, analogous to the code of ethics of medical professionals, to render to the public our full and unencumbered diagnosis? That is our objective.
This leads into Hansen's proposal for how to get out of this mess: a price on carbon dioxide, nuclear power, and rushing to research geoengineering such as spraying salt water in the air. And then e.g. specific political proposals, like 'a political party that takes no money from special interests', ranked choice voting and so on.
Naturally this is a lot harder to take technical issue with. It's more like an editorial. As a reviewer you'd probably say it's worth publishing because it's well argued, etc. etc., without necessarily agreeing with every one of Hansen's proposals. You can say 'that obviously wouldn't work' and so on, but it's a different kind of argument.
So re your questions:
does it actually mean we'll reach 4C by 2100?
If Hansen et al. are right, the IPCC reports are underestimating the equilibrium we approach for the current amount of CO2 in the atmosphere - which would lead to 2°C well before 2050, so 4°C by 2100 seems plausible (I didn't spot a timeline that goes that far in the paper when I skimmed through but I could have missed it).
This isn't the amount of warming that will happen, because the Earth has many systems which gradually scrub CO2 from the atmosphere. If we stopped pumping out CO2 suddenly, the amount of CO2, and the amount of extra energy it adds, would gradually decline. So we wouldn't necessarily approach that equilibrium. On the other hand, the amount of CO2 forcing is only going up as things currently stand - and if the amount of forcing stayed the same, Hansen says it would eventually deglaciate Antarctica, leading to over 10°C of warming.
But working out what will actually happen by 2100 depends on a lot of modelling assumptions - how long do you assume we keep pumping out CO2? Hansen addresses this when talking about the subject of 'committed warming':
‘Committed warming’ is less precisely defined; even in the current IPCC report [12] (p. 2222) it has multiple definitions. One concept is the warming that occurs if human-made GHG emissions cease today, but that definition is ill-posed as well as unrealistic. Do aerosol emissions also cease? That would cause a sudden leap in Earth’s energy imbalance, a ‘termination shock,’ as the cooling effect of human-made aerosols disappears. A more useful definition is the warming that will occur with plausibly rapid phasedown of GHG emissions, including comparison with ongoing reality. However, the required ‘integrated assessment models,’ while useful, are complex and contain questionable assumptions that can mislead policy (see Perspective on policy implications section).
So, will we reach 4C by 2100? We can only phrase this question in a conditional way: if we continue to add this much energy, then...
In practice we will probably end up reducing our emissions one way or another - which is to say, if our present complex societies collapse, they ain't gonna be emitting much carbon anymore...
I also understand that the paper heavily advocates for a level of geoengineering, which I think is a better alternative to letting a large majority of people suffer, but I'm not sure if you have any opinions on when you think that'd be best to do.
The way things are going, I think it's likely that people will try geoengineering when the climate-related disasters really start to ramp up, so whether or not they should ends up kind of besides the point.
Hansen doesn't really advocate a specific programme to pursue - only one paragraph in the whole paper talks about geoengineering:
Highest priority is to phase down emissions, but it is no longer feasible to rapidly restore energy balance via only GHG emission reductions. Additional action is almost surely needed to prevent grievous escalation of climate impacts including lock-in of sea level rise that could destroy coastal cities world-wide. At least several years will be needed to define and gain acceptance of an approach for climate restoration. This effort should not deter action on mitigation of emissions; on the contrary, the concept of human intervention in climate is distasteful to many people, so support for GHG emission reductions will likely increase. Temporary solar radiation management (SRM) will probably be needed, e.g. via purposeful injection of atmospheric aerosols. Risks of such intervention must be defined, as well as risks of no intervention; thus, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences recommends research on SRM [212]. The Mt. Pinatubo eruption of 1991 is a natural experiment [213, 214] with a forcing that reached [30] –3 W/m2. Pinatubo deserves a coordinated study with current models. The most innocuous aerosols may be fine salty droplets extracted from the ocean and sprayed into the air by autonomous sailboats [215]. This approach has been discussed for potential use on a global scale [216], but it needs research into potential unintended effects [217]. This decade may be our last chance to develop the knowledge, technical capability, and political will for actions needed to save global coastal regions from long-term inundation.
He says 'we need to research this more to figure out the risks, since we'll probably have to do it' basically. Climate researchers have historically been reluctant to advocate geoengineering for fear it will be mistaken as a way to solve the climate problem without reducing GHG emissions, so honestly seeing them suggest it now maybe brings to light the atmosphere of desperation in the field.
Unfortunately, when talking about politics and economics, Hansen is on much less firm ground than when he's picking apart the intricacies of climate feedbacks. He clearly wants to try to discourage doomerism, and he's rightly critical of cap-and-trade and similar schemes, but he has his specific political fixations and what he suggests is all a bit unconvincing as a programme. I don't say this because I've got a better idea, though.
The problem is that the future is really hard to predict. It's bad enough when it's climate systems, but humans are even more complicated little nonlinear freaks. This isn't a new problem for Hansen's paper. I am pessimistic enough by nature that I don't really trust my ability to predict what we will do when climate change gets more severe. Hopefully by the time we finally decide to stop kicking the can down the road, there will still be something to be done.

PART 3

(se você fala portugues BR, sinta-se livre para enviar DM ou pedir tradução de um post. boa parte vai estar em inglês, para facilitar minha vida e atingir mais pessoas.)
-`🕯 INTRO 🕯´-
This is based on my experience, the information I have gathered, and my personal take. This isn't a rule book, law, or scientific study. You can feel free to give your own opinions and experiences in the comments but make it respectful. Now, let's get ourselves on the same page: ❅ Spirits are conscious beings who no longer or never have possessed a biological residence, in other words, a body. They are condensed energy, in other words, they might reside in the material world, but not materially. ❅ Harmful Spiritual Creatures/Spirits are those who harm other spirits or living beings in general, whether they want to or not. Here, it is not taken different points of view as in the famous "it depends" to determine whether such actions are harmful or not, but rather the general consequences of their actions regardless of their motives or lack thereof. ❅ Witchcraft is the conscious manipulation of magic in the day-to-day life of a being. It doesn't have ethical or moral rules to follow, or a god that needs to be
-`🕯 THE LIST 🕯´-
❅ TAR SPIRITS share some traits with haunters and obsessors, but the difference here is that they are much less rational and conscious of themselves. They crave destruction, pain, evil, and chaos more than any other creature. Such spirits can be created by other evil entities such as Apep, but they can be the result too of humans who have given in to their immense cruelty. To be simply put, tar spirits are crazy, they are maniacs, but thankfully weak. Of course, if there are many, they get stronger. They can possess humans, but the symptoms tend to be very subtle and by the end of the possession, usually when the human vessel is close to death, they leave the body. Also, these spirits are liars, they usually act as if they are a god, saint, demon, or angel. They often try to convince humans to have sex with them in order to create other tar spirits. Yet, this makes rarely ever lasts for long. Here you can find more info about them. Personally, from my experience, they are pretty annoying and stupid. ❅ STRIFE/HATRED/DECEIT DEITIES just, why the hell would you want to contact them? Unless you're looking for trouble, don't These deities don't think twice about hurting and manipulating other beings, so I don't recommend contacting them at all. Some of them are Eris, Loki, and Apep. ❅ DEMONS. Now, calm down, not every demon is an dickhead cruel bastard, but their tactics, in general, tend to be quite painful and difficult for humans to cope with. So, be careful, not every demon likes humans and some of them hate humans, while others love humans and are more than willing to help with your work by slowly introducing you to their ways, which is to not kill the ego, but rather to tame it so you don't lose your personality. Thus, be careful when contacting them, and make sure to contact Lucifer, Satan, Leviathan, Lilith, or Ashtoreth first as they are the high kinds and queen of hell.
-`🕯 OUTRO 🕯´-
I hope to have helped y'all with this long ass post that has 3 parts. Still, remember please that this is just my experience and result of study. Remember to always ward your place when practicing the craft and to have a well stablished protective/cleansing routine.

Rules Under Cut
AGE RESTRICTION
This blog is 18+: absolutely no exceptions. I will not RP with minors, nor will I allow minors to follow or interact due to the adult content portrayed on here. If your blog does not clearly state that you are an adult, you will be blocked.
BASICS
My blog is mutuals only and selective. Standard RP etiquette is expected. I don't do exclusives, but I do have mains. I am a slow writer, please be patient with me! I don't do passwords, but rest assured I have read your rules if I've followed you. No limit to the number of threads between us. OC friendly. Crossover friendly but will require major plotting to build a workable verse. I follow duplicates but likely will not interact IC unless it's crack. Currently high activity. Do not involve me in drama or discourse.
FORMAT + LITERACY
Multi-para/novella is my preference, but I am open to single para. One-liners are reserved for asks and crack. I don't expect length-matching - I have a tendency to write a lot and I don't want to overwhelm my partners. However, mutual effort is necessary. Not bothered by literacy skill, however, if your language or grammar make it so I cannot understand you then I won't be able to write with you.
MUN =/= MUSE
Angel Dust is not a "nice" character, to put it simply. He might not be kind to your muse, even if your muse is kind to him. I will always ask if I feel he is about to say anything particularly hurtful or get physically violent. Angel will also portray views or hold ignorance that does not align with what the mun thinks, believes, or understands. This is a work of fiction.
CONTENT WARNING
This is Angel Dust - dark topics and are going to be a common occurrence. Please be mindful of your own wellbeing and/or triggers. Sexual violence, physical violence, abuse, trauma, sex work, substance abuse and addiction are all big parts of Angel’s story, and while I will do my best to tag things accordingly, if this is likely to trigger you, I would advise not to follow.
TRIGGERS AND TAGGING
I tag common triggers such as abuse and violence, but if you need anything more specific tagged, let me know! The only non-standard trigger I ask be tagged if we are mutuals is animal cruelty.
I would suggest not following if you do not want suggestive content on your dash - I try to tag it but it's a struggle with this particular muse. However, I will always tag and censor NSFW and explicit content.
NSFW
NSFW content will be present! However, I won’t write smut unless we’ve been writing together for a while, and usually with some OOC discussion to get a feel for my partner’s ideas, preferences, and boundaries. All NSFW content will be tagged, and anything explicit will be under a cut.
SHIPPING
My main ship for Angel is Huskerdust. However, I ship based on chemistry, so if our muses develop a connection, I’m open to exploring this. I prefer this to be discussed OOC if it starts heading in that direction. And, obviously, Angel Dust is gay - I will be writing him as such.
ANGEL AND VALENTINO
I love writing Angel and Val and their dynamic is intrinsic to my portrayal, but I don’t consider my particular interpretation to be shipping. Writing characters who have a toxic and abusive relationship while also acknowledging love, sex and trauma bonding as a realistic part of that relationship is, in my opinion, a nuanced approach to take when portraying abuse. I enjoy exploring the dark aspects of their dynamic as well as the lighter and more comedic ones - and, consequently, all the horrible grey areas these contradictions create.
Do not involve me in shipping discourse.
SOFT LIMITS
I consider my soft limits to be topics or actions that require permission/prior discussion before implementing into a RP. Please ask me before including the following in any thread of ours: sexual assault, mentions of CSA, suicide, self-harm, one muse causing massive injury to another, or one muse killing another.
HARD LIMITS
These are topics that I will not touch. I will not write: graphic descriptions of any sexual violence, sexual or romantic interactions with a character who is a minor, incest, zoo, or m/f ships (last one is muse-specific, obviously).
BLOCKING
I only block for age restriction reasons, bad conduct, or for posting content I find triggering to ensure my own wellbeing. If I no longer want to interact with you, I will unfollow or soft block. If we have written before and I decide to unfollow, I will message beforehand. If you prefer to be blocked to avoid accidental re-following, let me know. I have no issue with anyone blocking me for whatever reason, curate your online space as you please! It's just my personal preference to be restrictive with my blocking habits.

Speaking of nepotism in ysblf, I gotta say that Ecomoda was screwed either way. I read a post not long ago that Daniel was just as bad as Armando with finances. This dude invested all the money he had on a business that flopped and by the time Ecomoda was back on its feet thanks to Betty’s presidency, he was ready to sell it for quick profit which, there’s no doubt in my mind, he would invest on another shady business that would make him go broke and this time without having shares on a successful company to back him up. He was an idiot that didn’t even care for Ecomoda and didn’t even work there unlike Armando who made terrible mistakes but at least had love and appreciation for the company and had actually been working in there for a while. And to think that several people in the fandom have more respect for this character than Armando is beyond me 🫠 ok rant over haha I love your blog, I hope you are doing alright and that you have a fantastic week ahead 🌺
Daniel is really bad at business overall. He works for the government doing idk what and was receiving checks fm Ecomoda. I don't really understand why Roberto would vote for Daniel given that Daniel never worked for Ecomoda. Marcela's reasoning for why she voted for Armando is because he's actually put in the time at Ecomoda.
Supposedly Roberto liked Daniel's plan better. Again, why would you trust the plan of someone who's never invested his time in this important family ran company? Over your son who's worked there for 6+ years? From Daniel's perspective, it seems like Ecomoda was always un poca cosa para el. It was just another form of paycheck while he tried to rise the ranks of government offices.
The show overall does it's work to show the audience who each character really is and if some audiences decide to prefer Daniel over Armando, then they're being very obtuse. Daniel doesn't care about long term anything. He cares about fast results and quick money. Hence his bad investment in the last act that causes him to ask Betty for his money sooner than expected.
The meeting where they make Betty president, Daniel congratulates Armando because on the surface Armando isn't suffering any consequences for his actions (bad financial decisons). Which is true, but it's hypocritical of him to say that considering he expects the same treatment. He doesn't want to suffer the consequences of his shitty investment and wants Betty to fix it immediately.
Daniel would have probably invested in bitcoin if we're being honest.
(I am doing meh but hopefully the week will look up, thank u very much and I hope ur doing good too. <3)

People tend to hurt without thinking about the consequences of their actions, using as an excuse the bad things that have happened in their lives or the vicissitudes they have had to go through without thinking about who they are carrying between their feet when they walk. Although pain is something human, the fact of thinking before acting is also human, but that can only be done by those who step out of themselves and look around them, taking care not to hurt those who are with them. We all go through bad times in life, but this should not be a pretext to cause a conflict that aggravates the already painful situation. To be at odds with the people who love us will only cause us more suffering and in the long run will lead us to be alone, because no one can stand those who take it out on those who are not to blame for the hardships we may be experiencing. Let us take care of those who love us by assuming our responsibility and, if we have already lost people, let us learn to take care of what we have worked so hard to obtain: a true friendship.

Actually, have some European Portuguese (or Portuguese from Portugal) idioms and expressions that I love. (Some might also be used in Brazil. Others definitely are not)
1. Category: Expressions that exist because of the Lisbon Earthquake of 1755 (yes there's more than one in this category. No, we're not all 200+ years old but we still reference that earthquake every day)
Rés vés Campo de Ourique - It means that something didn't happen by an inch. This was because after the earthquake the Tsunami almost got to Campo de Ourique, a neighbourhood in Lisbon.
Caiu o Cabo e a Trindade - This means everything is going wrong. It comes from the fact that the earthquake destroyed two convents, Carmo and Trindade.
2. Expressions to say "Go annoy someone else" or just "Fuck off". There's a lot of these.
Vai chatear o Camões - Literally means "Go annoy Camões". Camões is a very well known poet and writer from the XVI century. It's a joke about saying to go annoy somebody who's dead.
Vai ver se estou na esquina - literally "go see if I'm in the corner".
Vai dar a volta ao bilhar grande - literally "go round the big billiard (table?)". Beautiful.
Vai tomar banho - literally "go take a bath"
3. Who the fuck thought of these???
Rebeubéu, pardais ao ninho - it means that there's a commotion and/or a lot of noise. To translate this literally is difficult because Rebeubéu is barely a word but it means something like "(onomatopoeia that means lots of noise) sparrows to the nest".
Montou-se ali um 31 - means the same as the last expression. Literally "A 31 was set up there". You can technically make your own expression with 31 and it will mean the same thing - chaos. Now the question is: What in the world is a 31? Well, until today I also didn't know. It's allegedly a card game.
Nasceu com o rabo virado para a lua - means that someone got lucky even when they did not deserve it. They got what they wanted but didn't do anything to get it. Literally "they were born with the butt turned to the moon".
Cu de Judas - It means far away and/or in a place difficult to find. Literally "Ass of Judas"... Ass in butt. This expression is used all the time.
4. Snork mimi 💤
Vou bater chocolate - literally "I'm going to whisk chocolate"
Vou para o vale dos lençóis (probably my favourite expression that I use all the time because the mental image is amazing) - literally "I'm going to the bedsheet valley"
Vou fazer oó - oó is an onomatopoeia for sleeping. Only used with babies or jokingly.
Vou nanar - technically it means "I'm going to sleep" as nanar is another verb for sleep but I wanted to include it because it's something that you will only hear said in familial situations. It's not informal in the street sense it's just that it's a sweet way to say sleep that it's just not said by anyone else besides your mum when she wants to ask if you're sleepy and want to go to bed. It's cute :)
5. The origin of this one is more interesting than the expression itself
Primeiro estranha-se depois entranha-se - it means that you might not like something at first but you'll start enjoying it with time. Literally means "First you find it's odd afterwards it's engrained". So, this was actually thought by Fernando Pessoa, also one of the most well known portuguese poets and writers. He died in 1937. Anyway, for this wasn't a title of a book or something. He wrote this for a fucking Coca-Cola commercial. Cursed information.
6. ???
Quem anda à chuva, molha-se - literally "Who's in the rain gets wet". It means "WHEN WILL YOU LEARN?! WHEN WILL YOU LEARN, THAT YOUR ACTIONS, HAVE CONSEQUENCES?!?!?!"
Pão, pão, queijo, queijo - literally "bred, bred, cheese, cheese", which is beautiful. It means "Exactly what I just said", "It means just that"
São coisas do arco-da-velha. Literally "It's stuff from the rainbow". It means whatever happen was unbelievable. In the good or bad sense. The most common way of saying rainbow in Portuguese is arco-íris but arco-da-velha is s synonym less used. Galicia still uses it a lot though.
Feito ao bife - (Used all the time!!!) Literally "done at the steak". It means you're fucked lol (aka you were busted and are in big trouble)

Palestine X Disability Justice Syllabus
One of my goals an editor, writer, and activist is to speak out about the genocide carried out by the Israeli Defense Forces against the people of Gaza. I remember how scary it was to speak out in the days after the October 7th attack by Hamas. I was heavily criticized by disabled acquaintances accusing me of antisemitism. It is not antisemitic to be against genocide and the dehumanization of an entire people. There are many in the disability community who claim disability justice yet overlook the principle of collective liberation. The silence from major disability-led organizations and disabled leaders in the United States denotes their complicity in a mass disabling event and the deaths of thousands of people. And this is why I use the platform I have to  center disabled perspectives. Below is a list of publications from the Disability Visibility Project on Palestinian liberation and disability justice and related topics. Through these essays I hope people can make the connections and be in solidarity with the people of Palestine who are fighting for their homeland and right to exist. Additional readings are listed below as well.

Do you think Jadis was redeemed?
No. I don't think it's a matter of 'redemption' with Jadis. Her arc mirrors Rick's, in terms of choices. She continually made the wrong ones, motivated by her own need for power and yeah, community. Even saving Rick from the riverbed was never about him, it was about what bringing him into the CRM could do for her. In World Beyond she basically brags about capturing the strongest man she knows in her quest to move up the ranks. The narrative across three damn shows made the point of showing that she was power-hungry, selfish, and willing to kill to get what she wanted.
And at the same time, she's incredibly complex, because there is part of her that knows what she's doing is wrong, but she justifies it with the idea of her being a 'true believer' in the republic, which Rick continually calls bullshit on. She doesn't believe in anything more than her own fear and need to belong. Gabriel represents the 'other' the choice she could have made, to be with him, to be an artist and find the peace and community she wanted, but she's too far gone at that point. She kept Rick captive for eight years while meeting up with Gabriel and never mentioning it, murdered Huck, and gleefully boasted about being the leader of the initiative that killed the 90k in Omaha.
Like the death monologue was great writing, bringing her story full circle, and Pollyanna did her big one with it, but Jadis was still set on killing Rick and Michonne until her throat got gnawed on like a smoked neckbone. And not because of the CRM, but her own fear of them being together and what that would mean for her. Even giving them the location of the file on Alexandria wasn't part of her being redeemed or benevolent, she only did that shit because she was (1) dying from the hatchet wound and getting her shit chewed up (2) she thought giving them the file was enough to convince Rick and Michonne to leave the CRM alone and dip back to their kids. In the end, bleeding out and bitten to shit, she still is like please don't hurt the CRM that's my emotional support fascist para-military state. Like girl, please be for real
So yeah, Ms. Bob was interesting and layered, but the narrative isn't trying to make her sympathetic or likeable at the end, at least to me. It's very firmly rooted in her ending being a consequence of her own actions. Even if she did decide to give them that ring and the file's location, it doesn't erase the blood on her hands.

4. favourite dish specific for your country?
Ahhh I love food this is a very hard question, there's a lot of tasty and delicious dishes (even more than the one I'm picking) but as the capital city girl I am, Ajiaco is my fav dish, it's basically a soup, made with chicken breast, corn, Guasca (a plant) and two different kinds of potatoes. It's perfect for the cold weather and we eat it with a bit of sour cream.
10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?
My ex catholic ass doesn't swear much, but I guess our use of "gonorrea" is just iconic, like of course it's a strong swear word, very mean and impolite, but it's literally an STD turned swear word, you use it to call someone or a situation very very displeasing.
16. which stereotype about your country you hate the most and which one you somewhat agree with?
Well anything that has to do with narcos, cocaine or Pablo Escobar is very displeasing to me because up to this day, the country suffers a great deal from the consequences of Escobar's actions and well cartels and the drug business are still very much present here.
For a stereotype that is kinda accurate is that Colombians are usually late, not sure of how known this is but I've heard it among here, and like, yes, you can pick an hour and people will get there five, ten, even thirty minutes late and this also applies to deadlines. There's like a span of 15 - 30 minutes in most events before starting so that people can get on time because of it. There's a saying for that and all, like "cómo todo buen colombiano, dejo x cosa para última hora" (as any good Colombian, you left x thing until the last moment) which is basically a reproach about how most works that have deadlines end up rushed because we "forget" or simply not manage time too well.

Winter to Spring | Self Para
Winter couldn’t  have been more thrilled for this event. She’d been on her best behaviour for some time. No unprovoked attacks, no mysterious gifts sent, she simply glowed in the wake of her victory over Layla and her friends.
Though, that didn’t mean she wasn’t prepared to unleash more of her temper on the girl and an event like this provided the perfect excuse. She wouldn’t know who was torturing her, wouldn’t be able to run off to her allies to tattle. Winter could deliver some much deserved pain without any consequence.
Thank the gods for whomever was ruining the headmasters fun.
As she arrived her eyes quickly found her former vessel chained up, it was easy to do considering how long Winter used to see that face and body in the mirror. Close by was Scarlett, what a delightful treat! Both slaves could taste her wrath today and would be forced to keep their mouths shut about it.
She took two ready steps towards the girls when a familiar cry was released, one that froze Winter’s body entirely. She felt cold as she turned to see Dhani being whipped on the other side of the quad. He let out a second cry and it felt as if a hand had reached into her chest and had taken a clutching grip around her heart.
A third cry was released but this one came from Avery, who was just a little further down the line. No. No not him too. She prayed his strangely wired brain was still registering all this as pleasure but she wouldn’t put it past the institute to magically correct that feature for the duration of the weekend.
A fourth painful groan came from much closer to her, James. She’d yet to experience his safety being brought into question. He was a master, he wasn’t at risk for these kinds of things. Now she was faced with his punishment as well. More familiar faces began to arise as she really opened her eyes to look around. Sweet slaves who didn’t deserve this kind of pain, like Isabel. Polite slaves who could be rather enjoyable conversation, like Skyler. Strong slaves who had already been through enough in their lives, like Xavier.
A pang of guilt and a strong urge to protect settled heavy in her gut. This... this wasn’t right. Their pain was not warranted, not needed and Winter found no joy in it.
Even those with devices in hand seemed agonized by their actions. Alfie who was being forced to hurt a frail little thing, wait... she knew her name, Daisy. And Tilly, who had proven to be nothing but fun, being forced to hurt Ava, who even Winter had to reluctantly admit, tried to protect those she cared for which included Jace. More and more the names of slaves came to her as she noted their terrorized faces. Persephone, Ana, Elliot, and more and more.
Heart seized and guilt laden, Winter took a step back and then another, before she turned entirely and marched away from the screams.  She tried to keep as composed as she could but with every step she took it reality set further in.
Tumblr media
Winter couldn’t deny, something had changed. Her opinions on the island games for one, but more importantly, her ability to ignore the pain of others. Usually drive and determination narrowed her focus to solely see her victims, it saved her from seeing others she... cared for... Gods, she cared for people, and more than she’d expected. She cared if they were hurt. She cared if they faced unjust pain. Her instinct to protect had expanded to include others without her even realizing.
Her mind whorled and she felt unbalanced as she headed home, the cried still echoing in her ears even as she created more distance. These revelations were consuming and confusing. It wasn’t just that something had changed...
Everything had changed. Her footsteps became an echo as she moved down quiet streets. A second panic, one saved for herself, fluttered in her chest.
By walking away, Winter was electing not to participate in the events of the weekend. By staying away, she was condemning them, in fact. The masters and mistresses who’d been spared were no doubt expected to engage in the torture. With her own reputation on the island she would be an expected guest. Her absence would most certainly be noted by the elite and powerful on the island.
Perhaps she was putting herself in danger by leaving. She might be seen as ‘going soft’ which might put a target on her back from the administration. Or at the very least, it might open herself up to attack from other villainous players.
These threats struck at her fears and demanded attention, however they could not overpower the disgust and heartbreak she felt over those in the quad. Yet another change it would seem.
Swallowing against these new emotions and the lump in her throat, Winter slipped back into her suite.
She remained there throughout the weekend, partly pouring over books for ways to dull pain or release compulsion, partly smashing plates and throwing books with the frustration of being helpless against this event, and partly drinking and sitting curled up in the silence of her room, re-examining the shift in who she was and reeling over who that made her now.
