240. Gary Gygax - World of Greyhawk Fantasy Game Setting (1983)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/85028bb5128ce36a9c858a614494a4a6/e17c2a09ff39b8e1-1b/s540x810/7280611cfaffee5bebe142e001789b2a9fef0eb7.jpg)
In 1980 we had a folio edition of the Greyhawk campaign setting. When I reviewed that publication for this project, I felt that it was flimsy and too reliant on military strength of several regions of the world, belying its origins in wargames instead of roleplaying games. It was all about numbers of troops rather than cultural, political or social characteristics of each region. There was then little development of the Greyhawk pantheon or other information useful for DMs trying to tell their own stories in that setting.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/deffd05f388f3a474b16c449527cefa9/e17c2a09ff39b8e1-42/s540x810/73d4539de54f7fc49dd3b75805ef92e5f5471323.jpg)
Three years later, we get this box-set and it really does address the majority of problems I had with the original. This is pretty great stuff. At about quadruple the size of the folio edition, this consists of two separate booklets and the same map as the 1980 version. These two booklets are full of information, about locations, history, gods, weather, rulers and pretty much all you need to know to develop adventures in the setting.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2fb343e14c39a1676a89a94012ee36fe/e17c2a09ff39b8e1-fb/s540x810/61711cd592d6546f53d52371d0b54071e7657aec.jpg)
In my opinion this is the first truly modern campaign setting for AD&D, leaving behind the military focus of the first folio, which was very much a remnant from the Chainmail and wargaming days where the setting started with Gygax and Arneson, and bringing it more to the storytelling kind of game that AD&D ended up being. It's also a beautifully illustrated and designed piece well worth seeking out.

The reasons for me to dig up my senior thesis on Homestuck being the closest thing to modern epic poetry masses by the day (it's stuck somewhere in a HDD that windows diskcleaner fucked up so don't hold your breath). But the elevator pitch ran something like this:
1) It includes every form of non-acted media from illustration to literature, from animation to video games and music.
2) It was a representation of a very unique 1990s/2000s/2010s thing which I generally think of as the 'dedicated setting roleplay forum', some of you guys should remember this, but for those who don't think of shit like Drowtales or Stararmy or a dozen other little roleplay forums where folks play-by-posted. You had esoteric as fuck rules systems made up by highschoolers because they seemed cool, you had crazy plots, you had back and forth and multiple generations of people forming different groups in an iterative story telling thing where there'd be generations of players who specifically formed their own cliques that never the less interacted and grouped up across generations.
3) It covers an entire mythic cycle of creation and destruction and fundamental cosmic metaphysics pitched, basically, as drama between a bunch of teenagers with middling to no social skills, and if that doesn't describe MOST mythic pantheons and their drama I don't know what does.
whenever you say "isn't this just homestuck?" in response to some story you see, you're not pointing out the innate ubiquity and scale to homestuck like you think you are, you're just revealing how limited and predefined your scope is when it comes to digesting and understanding fiction.

Can you recommend games for a DM who would like to indulge their group of chaotic murder hobos? (Hey, if it’s what they find fun, why not lean into it?) Oh, and ideally I would prefer games that don’t have much math — there are a couple players with dyscalculia or other learning disabilities.
THEME: Math-Lite Chaotic Murder Hobos
The following games are big on violence, big on loot, and light on calculations! Have fun!
Cybermetal 2012, by World Champ Game Co.
Blood Money, Viral Videos, Brain Software, Hellpower, Cassette Tapes, Hallucinogens, Anarchy, Demonic Rituals, Combat Drones, Radiation Worship, Frequency Manipulation - How Nasty is Cybermetal 2012?
Cybermetal 2012 is a tabletop roleplaying game of demons, metalheads, and weirdos surviving and thriving in an isolated city of warped technology in an alternate timeline featuring tons of analog ink illustrations, intuitive dice mechanics for fans of Mothership or Blades in the Dark, fascinatingly weird worldbuilding, and much more.
This game uses a percentile system, which means that you need to roll under a certain number in order to succeed. This makes it easy to learn, and gives the table a quick understanding of how achievable any given task is. The two d10s that you roll to determine your outcome are then assigned to damage and Fallout - how much damage do you do, and what happens next? There are a number of other mechanics that you can choose to involve, such as Hardware, factions, Gear, and more - but their use is optional, so you can customize your game to the experience your players want!
S.H.A.D.O.W. Hunters, by Maps’N’ Quests.
Throughout human history things have threatened humanity –things that go bump in the night and leave the average civilian quaking in terror. These things exist on the periphery for most people, things they never even notice as being out of the ordinary. When those things go bump in the night, S.H.A.D.O.W. bumps back with the elite Hunters.
S.H.A.D.O.W. Hunters combines FPS-style action with survival horror in the vein of F.E.A.R. and other similar games while building on FariRPG's phenomenal Breathless SRD in unique ways, including lite-tactical combat mechanics and varying weapon effectiveness.
While this is a combat game, S.H.A.D.O.W. Hunters is designed to be run in theatre-of-the-mind, which means you won’t have to calculate range, and is rules-lite, which means that much of murder you do will be up to the players - do you behead the undead monstrosity, or pump it full of lead? How cool do you look doing it? There’s also a scavenge mechanic, which is great for those players that enjoy looting the body. Finally, while the game makes use of various polyhedral dice, you don’t have to add up any numbers - you just take the highest result and go from there. The game is run on the Breathless SRD, which means that your character’s skills and resources will run out over the course of play - great for building suspense and dread.
Jack Kills Giants, by Andrew White.
There’s no shortage of vagabonds who take coin for killing, but Giant Slayers… they’re a special breed. The coin is unfathomably good, you’d be more or less set for life should you bring one of those colossal beasts down. Those who decide the reward is worth the risk form up into small companies of strangers, spreading out the risks and sharing the spoils.Brought from all walks of life, those who survive past their first kill and choose to continue on the path grow into tight-knit bands, comrades in arms fighting for gold and glory. But you aren’t one of that pantheon of successful slayers just yet. You’re just flat broke.
Jack Kills Giants is a game of giant-slaying in the Fantasy Gig-Economy written and illustrated by Andrew White, with valuable contributions from Nakade & Cosmic Orrery Games. In Jack Kills Giants you won't play hardened adventurous heroes, you'll play everyday people, forced by a need to make cash to survive to chase after giants in exchange for generous bounties.
This is a game with beautiful art and a simple core system, with add-ons if you want to add difficulty, complexity, or a different flavour of play. Characters are ranked with the type of dice they roll, and there are ten character professions, which start at a d8 rank, with graduation ranks for d10 and d12. If you want a book with plenty of resources for a GM, and the ability to add your own flavour, then I recommend Jack Kills Giants!
GrimoirePunk, by Mitch.
Wizards rule the world. They’ve traded their stone towers for skyscrapers of steel and glass, their homunculus servants for warehouse workers, their robes emblazoned with stars for three-piece suits and sensible skirts (still emblazoned with stars, though). The rest of the world might consider them clever business people or daring entrepreneurs, but you know better. Their empires of power are built on magical secrets torn unwillingly from the fabric of reality and bound into powerful grimoires: collections of spell fragments and lost secrets pinned beneath words, illustrations, and codes. Their grimoires are the source of their power.
So we’re gonna take them.
In GrimoirePunk, you play as gutter magicians democratising magic by stealing it from infinitely powerful wizards. You and your friends will create your punks and each build a unique grimoire on a deck of cards that you will add to and destroy until you have a book that is unique to you, shaped by your adventures.
This game requires absolutely no dice - instead, you use a deck of cards. These cards will represent your character’s abilities. Character creation starts with all face cards removed, and you’ll gain new abilities and spells over the course of play. If you like the idea of using whatever means necessary to get your hands on some power, and you don’t want to keep track of dice values, this game might be worth checking out. There’s even a Demo Game Dunk edition for you to check out if you want to see what you’re in for!
Chainsaw Humans, by Deep Light Games.
YOU ARE DEVIL HUNTERS, individuals (human or otherwise) who fight against Devils whenever a threat related to them should arise in the world. You are a special branch of law enforcement.
YOU USE DEVILISH ABILITIES AT SOME LEVEL as means of standing a chance in combat against these monstrous opponents. Each devil represents a fear the humanity has. The stronger the fear, the stronger the devil.
In CHAINSAW HUMANS you'll play as human, hybrid, fiend or devil at your day job as a devil hunter. Each species play a little different but the core rules are very straight forward. Many GM tables to help are included.
This is a standard Lasers & Feelings hack, so you only ever use d6’s, and will roll either over or under a target number. Chainsaw Humans has two stats: Chainsaws, which represents being brutal, bloody, and aggressive, and Humans, which represents subtlety, manipulation, and control. While this game is designed to be a one-shot, you can probably get a few sessions out of it if you have enough fun and the GM has a number of ideas!
ORC BORG, by Rowan, Rook & Decard.
The DERELICT is a great big beautiful trash rocket smashing through space and it is jam-packed with ORCS, generations upon generations of them, sporing and scrapping, building murderous idols to their mad gods, and praying for DOOM when the Derelict will crash into heaven and disgorge every dead-hard big-toothed bastard in a glorious tide of violence.
YOU are an ORC, and you fight and kill and pray and scheme and tinker and howl for a place in heaven.
ORC BORG is a zine-length standalone RPG with beautiful, brutal art on every page. ORC BORG is a collaboration between Grant Howitt (Spire, Heart, Honey Heist, Goblin Quest) and ROLLINKUNZ (Fragnarok, The Dungenerator, Goblinfinite). It's powered by the MÖRK BORG engine - so it's fast, cruel, and obsessed with the apocalypse.
ORC BORG is built off of the well-loved engine of MORK-BORG, a game of fantastical blood and guts. Out of all of the games on this list, it has the most calculating, as you’ll have to add up damage and subtract from your hit points. If you want scrapping, murdering, and glorious glorious violence, this is likely the game for you, and if you want to check out this style in a different setting, I’d recommend CY_BORG, a cyberpunk hack of death and revenge.
Games I’ve previously mentioned that might be worth checking out:
FIST: Paranormal Mercenaries
Locum Tendons: Doppelganger Infiltrators
Heart - The City Beneath : Dungeon-crawling into a nightmare undercity.

You, Fated one, are a beautiful lie, and so too is the world around you
A Far Off Land is a multi-world spanning fantasy RPG (roleplaying game) setting by Megan Bennett-Burks and Jacob Possin for the Fate RPG. We will include rules for Apocalypse World / PbtA in a PDF IF we hit the $7000 funding mark.
Take the role of one of the Fated; shapeshifting beings which are creatures of both worlds. The Fated are akin to the demigods of legend.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0d60e390c24c0eacbc62b9b8573eab05/tumblr_inline_oz0hypiNtK1rnwncb_540.jpg)
The world around you is not the only one, and even it is not what it seems. Embrace your twinned nature, creature both eldritch and human. You are a child born of one world and adopted by the other, and fated to save them both. Ah, but, alas, you are much like the world you were born to, also, not what you seem!
There are two worlds; one is the world you were born into, the one you’ve taken for granted as mundane and explicable. The other is the Far Off Land; where creatures of myth and magic dwell. This wondrous place was crafted by the gods long ago and has a vast array of Mythic realms which lie within it. You and your companions are Fated, shapeshifting beings who are of both worlds, and the fate of both worlds rests in your hands.
Two Worlds, Rabbit Holes and Many Realms
One world is that which your character was born into; it is nearly identical to our own present-day earth though it has powerful magic hidden within it. The Fated call this world The Cage because it serves as a prison for slumbering dragons and primordial giants, who would imperil both worlds were they to awaken.
The other world is the realm of myth, magic, and monsters; the Far Off Land and its many realms from ancient Duat, the Mirrored Cities, and Wonderland. Your adventures will span both these worlds, and to the many rabbit holes which act as passageways from one to the next, including The Alley and its great Goblin Market. The rabbit holes were created thanks to the sacrifice of the goddess Tekmor long ago.

Courts and Factions
The intrigues of the many Courts & Factions are at the heart of the game. Each group has its own vision for the two worlds, and ideas about your place within it; will you fight to see this vision come to its fruition? Or will you rebel and carve out your own place in the two worlds?
The Courts are what remain of the many ancient pantheons of gods and spirits, the Factions are formed by the Fated themselves. Some examples of the Courts include the Munin, the Kemet, the Hatters, and many more. Some examples of the Factions include: The Protectors, The Healers, and the Destroyers.

Magic: Elements of Blood and Passion
The Fated have command of magic unique to their kind; to use it they must tap into the element which they have an affinity for, and then channel the power of either: Their passions which enhance a selection of their skills and allows them to cast spells of an elemental nature. Or their Blood which they can use to summon forth elemental creatures.
The default elements include air, earth, fire and water, but the game will include rules for adding more, and for alternatives to them for those who want to further diversify their characters.

Here’s the completed commission I was illustrating on twitch last week. I think it came rather nicely and I hope the owner of this fine character is pleased as well. :) This is her pathfinder/ roleplaying character, a fighter/holy knight. I also helped to design the logo of her god since the pantheon of that particular game was created by the DM. Speaking of twitch I should formally announce I have a stream which I draw on almost daily if you have any interest in watching me work: www.twitch.tv/fabledbrush In addition I have an Instagram where I post sketches straight from my sketchbook and doodles I don’t feel are ‘finished’ enough to be posting here: https://www.instagram.com/fabledbrush

Part-Time Gods Second Edition Review
I had a lot of early influences that led to my later interests. I can just barely remember seeing Star Wars at the drive-in when it came out. The first birthday present I can remember is a toy Batmobile. More to the point, one of the first non-Star Wars movies I can remember seeing was Clash of the Titans. While I had already started hearing stories about King Arthur and his knights, this was something else entirely — a whole different scale. My love of mythological stories was born, as was my deep abiding affection for mechanical owls.
It’s not much of a leap for me to gravitate towards roleplaying games that allow you to build your own mythology. This led me to my current review, Part-Time Gods Second Edition.
Disclaimer
While published by Third Eye Games, the Kickstarter for this project was run by Encoded Designs, which you may or may not know also has some gnomish overlap. In addition to gnomish oversight, there were a few gnomes that contributed to the contents of the book itself. While I didn’t consult with any of them in the creation of this review, I did want to state all of that up front.
Content Warning
While I’m not going to spend much time on any of it in this review, the game itself does have some instances of discussing adult professions, cannibalism, potentially compromised people put in dangerous situations, and occasional descriptions of violent acts. It isn’t constant, but each of the above pops up in a few places across the course of the text.
Manifestation
This review is based on the PDF of the game. The PDF is 318 pages, with a four-page index, 12 sample characters (in addition to the sample characters used in the text), two pages of Kickstarter backers, three pages of random tables, a blank territory grid, and a blank character sheet.
The cover has gorgeous full-color art, with similar black and white art in the interior. While the interior art is black and white, interior headers and borders are rendered in gold and purple, and the overall effect looks very sharp.
Introduction
The introduction gives the quick pitch of the game, which is that the player characters are portraying modern-day gods that must balance their responsibilities as everyday people with the responsibilities inherent in the divine spark that they possess. Complicating this is that mortals that aren’t worshippers that get too close to the gods usually don’t have a happy ending in store.
In addition to the pitch, there are brief sections on what a roleplaying game is, what is needed to play, and the core resolution mechanic. That mechanic involves assembling a dice pool of d10s, counting 7-9s as successes, counting 10s as two successes, and counting 1s with no successes in the pool as a critical failure. This section wraps up with a glossary of terms that will be introduced in the upcoming chapter.
Between chapters, there are one-page pieces of fiction illustrating how the lives of modern gods play out.
The Descending Storm
The next section delves a bit deeper into the lore of the assumed setting. The first mortal touched by the power known as The Source spent time with other mortals, and those mortals became gods. In order to keep a tighter rein on who gets to become a god, the existing gods locked up The First Mother.
This leads to some bad consequences that result in the creation of Outsiders, mythological monsters that originally just wanted to wipe out the gods (although some of them lost this drive over time).
All of this means that modern gods are a generation of people with amazing potential but burdened with the consequences of the actions of an older generation that was unwilling to fully share their power. Why does that theme feel somewhat familiar?
In addition to the broad history lesson on the gods and their origins, there are explanations of theologies, dominions, territories, pantheons, worshippers, outsiders, and why modern gods are less overt than their predecessors.
I really enjoyed the way the history weaves in and out of matching and diverting from what might be common knowledge about different mythologies. It is a history section that hits the highlights and lets you know what happened in broad terms but doesn’t assign specific fates for all of the old gods or go into details that a GM may want to provide in their own campaigns.
Spark of Divinity
This section of the book walks the reader through creating a character. This involves the following steps:
Occupations (what you do for a living)
Archetype (the type of character you are)
Dominion (what you are the god of)
Theology (an organization that has a specific philosophy on what gods should be doing)
Attachments (your ties to the mortal world)
Final Touches
Each of these steps adds different ratings to a character. By combining them, you end up with what skills a character has, how much wealth and downtime they have, what their truths are (abilities that are either always true, or can be activated, but don’t involve rolls), and the people, places, and things that are important to them.
At the end of each of the Theology sections, there is a sample character sheet for a god that belongs to that Theology. After walking players through the steps of creating a character, there is a section on XP, including how it is awarded, and what can be purchased with it.
At the end of this section is a summary of character creation. I was glad this was included, as the individual items are simple enough, but they are being accumulated across a lot of different options, and it might be easy to miss something that a character should have received from some section of character creation.
While I liked some of the items that will net a player XP for their character, I have become a much bigger fan of having tailored questions that trigger XP when answered. It’s great to award XP for characters being present, having scenes with their bonds, and highlighting their curses. I feel less excited about trying to determine spotlight awards, teamwork awards, or memorable moments. I would have rather had more specific questions tailored to the different aspects of the character as chosen through character creation, as some of the triggers feel too open-ended to me.
Divine Expressions
This section engages how to use the “big picture” aspects of the rules, such as how sparks work, legendary acts, hearing prayers, the limits of immortality, how manifestations work, rituals, and other worlds.
Legendary acts are big narrative things that gods can do to make a major change, but that drain them whenever they are done. Gods have to recover after they do these, and there are mechanical penalties assessed afterward, but the legendary act itself is a narrative thing that fits within the god’s dominion.
Whenever a god does something that isn’t a “standard” thing, such as using more mundane skills, they can use their manifestation skills to attempt to do supernatural things. The further away from their dominion the manifestation is, the more a god might take a penalty to their die pool to create the manifestation. There are example costs for things like magnitude and effect which a god must spend to create the manifestation, and if used against another creature with a spark, they must spend successes to overcome that oppositions defense before they can spend for effects.
The final section of this chapter explains how a god can create their own realm away from the mortal world, as well as detailing a few previously existing supernatural realms. There are also rules for detailing what happens when gods go exploring realms beyond the mortal world.
Blessing the Dice
The next section gets more into the rules for doing more day to day actions in the game. The group has a pantheon pool of dice that can be drawn upon when the entire group agrees and invoking a character’s curse (narratively suffering the effects of that curse), adds to the pantheon pool. Blessings often involve giving a character extra dice when they attempt certain skills or in certain circumstances.
Instead of adding a skill to an attribute, as many dice pool systems do, in Part-Time Gods 2nd Edition, you explain a primary skill related to what you want to do, and then explain how a secondary skill could supplement that skill, and the number in these two skills forms the number of dice that make up the dice pool. Higher difficulties require more successes.
Tools that are high quality or especially helpful to an action add additional dice as well. Getting three more successes than needed for a given result gives a character a boost and getting a 1 on one of the dice without getting any successes creates a critical failure. There are example boosts and critical failures given in this chapter to guide what should happen when those come up.
There are derived statistics for strength and movement. This was actually a little baffling to me, because so much of the game is abstract–the territory grid, wealth, downtime. It feels odd to quantify exactly how far characters can move, or exactly how much they can lift and carry, and it feels a little at odds with the overall feel of the game.
Moving around the territory grid and entering a scene causes a character to spend downtime. Characters can go to their job to get back some wealth or downtime instead of participating in a scene, and when a character is out of downtime, they have to spend time with their bonds, or risk damaging the relationship with that bond (bonds take stress a certain number of times before being broken, and a broken bond creates new penalties for the god). Some obligations can be met by spending wealth, but not all.
Divine Battles
This section sets up how to structure a scene when player characters are in direct conflict with NPCs. There are different, but similar, rules for Battles of Fists and Battles of Wits. Characters have both health and psyche to track how much harm has been done in these conflicts.
When entering conflict, characters roll individual initiative, and they pick a major and minor action, and when they must defend against an action, they take a minor and major defense.
In addition to taking straight damage to health or psyche, characters can opt to take on conditions, which have specific consequences, but keep a character from using up all of their resources to stay viable in the scene.
Armor and weapons are a bit more granular than the overall description of the tools in the previous chapter, although most of the interactions deal with specific instances where they are more or less effective, and ways to mitigate costs for an item.
I’m a little torn, because I really like the depth that the interaction of major and minor choices adds to the narrative but coupled with the individual initiative rolled each round of combat, it feels like this could bog down quickly. It is noted that players could roll initiative once and keep the same turn order if they like, and I’m inclined to think this is what I would do, even though I like to run systems as written first, before introducing any modifications.
At least one of the defense options had me really confused, until I reread the actions sections and realized that (I think) it chains off of a character picking a certain action on their turn, which in turn allows them to then have the option to benefit from a defensive option when they are being acted against.
The Opposition
This section presents statistics for noteworthy mortals, mortals touched by the gods, other gods, and outsiders. While there is plenty of room to customize these stat blocks (and the GM is encouraged to do so when a character becomes a recurring character), there is a wide enough variety to present any number of threats on the fly. In addition to the specific examples, there is a chart giving “generic” dice pools, defenses, and resistances for different threat levels, to help GMs build and improvise anything that doesn’t appear.
The outsiders are drawn from a number of different mythologies and folklore, many of which have just a slight twist on what might be expected of them. Like the section on deific history, similar monsters from different mythologies are given more of a streamlined and common origin, such as the giants all originating from Atlas.
Creating New Myths
This section includes inspirations for the game (which draws on a wide variety of media), tips on developing stories, pacing a campaign, and utilizing story tricks. In several places it addresses specific game elements, such as getting the best use out of curses in the narrative.
There is a lot of solid advice in this section, and I particularly liked the range of inspirations for the game, citing comics, television, books, and movies, some of which may be obvious, but others that clearly have a similar theme to the game as presented.
I was a little surprised that there wasn’t a dedicated safety section in a narrative-heavy game such as this one, especially with some of the topics introduced. I do not want to give the wrong impression — the text definitely talks about paying attention to what players want and do not want in a game and building the story together, but this is interspersed, rather than concentrated in a specific discussion on safety.
I was also a little sad that there wasn’t more time spent on an idea briefly touched on in this section about starting the characters as mortal for one session, then layering on their deific powers and their association with the various theologies. While I understand what was said from a mechanical standpoint, I would love to see this as an alternate path to starting the game, with an expanded exploration of what this would look like and how it should unfold.
Divine Domain
Part-Time Gods Second Edition manages to ignite a spark for modern urban fantasy roleplaying, creating a nice balance of game mechanics to drive the themes of the game.

I enjoy the exact level of detail given, that manages to give a strong feel for the setting, while leaving plenty of room to expand the campaign. Wealth and free time provide a great ebb and flow for driving the kinds of plots that the game describes. There is a broad cross-section of different cultural influences to create a richer tapestry to draw from.
Mortal Concerns
The more granular rules about strength and movement feel a little at odds with the more free-form aspects of the game. It feels as if there is some potential for slowed pacing with individual initiative and multiple choices for both the attacker and defender in combat. I wish there had been a little more time spent on detailing the concept of playing characters as mortals discovering their sparks, and I wish there was a little bit more of a dedicated safety section in the rules.

Moat Monsters: A Sourcebook for OGL RPGs Regular price: $1.99 Bundle price: $0.17 Format: PDF In most fantasy settings, castles and cities are vital components of civilization, and many of these rely on moats for defense. These large ditches are usually filled with water and meant to stop attackers from reaching the outer walls. To counter this and thwart fantasy-world invaders, moats could be filled with different materials and energies, or even populated with monsters. This sourcebook contains 20 monsters specifically designed to be ideal for occupying moats and enhancing their natural functions, along with ideas on other ways moats can be made more lethal first lines of defense for fortifications. Monsters in it are stat'... Now, one man has done the impossible and captured El Chupacabra alive, and tonight, he plans to reveal his prize to the world - or at least the highest bidder. Hobbsbad has been thrown into chaos, as crackpots, cryptozoologists, reporters, and ranchers swarm into it! Mutant Race (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game) Regular price: $0.99 Bundle price: $0.08 Format: PDF Crawling out from the wreckage of nuclear, biological, and chemical warzones, created in the laboratories of misguided geniuses, and spawning in realms contaminated by wild magic, mutants are both a race unto themselves and no race at all. Viewed with a mixture of contempt and pity by members of more clearly defined species, mutants are united in desperation by the abnormalities which separate them from other humanoids. As diverse — if not more so — in form and outlook as other humanoids, mutants display the best and worst characteristics evolution has to offer. This title contains guidelines for playing the Mutant Race as characters and includes details on physical appearance, society, relations with other races, alignment a... Mysterious Relics: Pantheon-Specific Temple Objects & Furnishings Regular price: $1.99 Bundle price: $0.17 Format: PDF In addition to religious trappings common to the temples of many lands and gods — like altars and deities’ holy symbols — certain objects, furnishings, sacred animals, and other items of a ritual nature might be found only in the shrines of specific deities or pantheons. Relics also often have very narrow functions and are frequently affiliated with specific cults or sects within a temple, such as those that might use the item in question as part of secret rites in hidden areas. Depending on their uses, such items might either be in plain sight or concealed in special areas. “Mysterious Relics” examines the various objects, furnishings, garb, accouterments, and items associated with temples and other holy sites and provides as examples a dozen ancient holy ...
Pantheon (c)

Oliver and Matheus, the human and the satyr
‘Watching Mateus pay for, without thinking, purchases, Oliver concluded that he was either rich or was buying something for the first time on principle. Or both. He flatly refused the offer to get into the trolley: - No, no, no, no! You can't take trolleys out of the car park, it could be considered theft! - He started to look around so as not to cause unnecessary attention. At the statement about the girlfriend, Oliver became even more agitated. - Our place? What girlfriend? The one you showed?’
<…>
‘- Her name is Louise. She's from Paris, Oliver! You've dated French women before? Mateus stopped to wait for Oliver. He wasn't even out of breath.
- If you have, make sure they're nowhere near Louise. She's a model and a beauty. He showed the selfies the girl had sent him in response to the invitation. In the selfies, the young slim blonde was photographed in front of a mirror wearing black trousers and a light-coloured top. It was noticeable that it was worn without a bra. In her hands the girl held a glass with some yellow drink. It could have been juice or a cocktail. Mateus sent another message to Louise: ‘He's asking about you again. Come over soon. Do you want me to buy tickets to somewhere?’ Of course, with the message he sent a photo of himself and a friend.’ Pantheon (c)

Lenny Kincaid, the beast, belongs to the Kachin species
"Lenny had almost reached the middle of the street when suddenly there was silence all around. First the sounds disappeared, and then the people. Every last one of them was gone, along with the caramel apples, hot dogs, and corn they were eating as they walked. The girl who had just tried on earrings at the homemade jewellery stand disappeared without a trace - and her reflection seemed to linger a couple of seconds longer. To the right, Chinese bells swayed in the wind, but Lenny heard no sound. One of the balloons tied to the orphaned clown tray burst without breaking the silence."
<…>
"He was just trying to pick up a lime slice with a straw among the ice cubes and mint scraps when the audio ether cleared to a single DESTROYA track by My Chemical Romance from his own phone. Gradually it faded away as well. Hastily pulling his headphones down around his neck, he watched the last of the people dissolve into thin air with bewilderment and looked suspiciously at his lemonade. The dreadlocked saleswoman should have issued warnings about extra ingredients. However, she couldn't sell it so cheaply if there really was anything in it. " Pantheon (c) Artist - Lokey
