DISCUSSION PROMPTS – PART 1
1. What did you like about the beginning of the comic?
2. What has been your favorite moment in the comic (so far)?
3. Who is your favorite character?
4. Which characters do like seeing interact the most?
5. What is something you like about the art? If you have a favorite illustration, please share it!
6. What is a theme you like that the comic explores?
7. What do you like about the comic’s story or overall related content?
8. Overall, what do you think the comic’s strengths are?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!
SAWHAND
Ooh! The first thing I'm noticing about this comic is the colors, which are lovely!!
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
agreed! the characters designs made me laugh, too. Haven't finished it yet but will definitely pop in to say a few words when I do
LadyLazuli (Phantomarine)
I'm going through this too - what an awesome style!
RebelVampire
I'm a prompt kind of person, so I'm gonna answer this a bit going by those. XD I like how the comic opens up, mostly at the end of the prologue with the ominous phone message about Isa and Scotty being dead. Like, just when you thought things were ominous enough, there's already a quick payoff, and I like that about this story. It's not holding its punches. As for a favorite moment, I really liked the argument between Hodori and Behzad, because that moment didn't go how I expected. I actually thought Behzad would include Hodori, not go for immediate betrayal. So to me that was interesting and I like things that don't go with my expectations. This is why they are also my favorite characters to interact, cause I liked Hodori was also the one to know what was going on, and I can't wait to see how Hodori will react when Behzad's sort of betrayal is revealed. For a favorite character, at the moment Chaker cause I think Chaker is the most mysterious and I'd love to learn more about Chaker. Who doesn't like mysterious characters with secrets?
In terms what I liked about the art, I find the use of color interesting. I'm not sure I'd classify as like persay, but it's interesting to see how the colors are used to sort of experiment with the mood or each image. Which for me I feel is the comic's strength. Regardless of how you feel about the content, the comic is intriguing to look at and catches your eye.

DISCUSSION PROMPTS – PART 2
9. Do you think what Behzad wants is justice or vengeance? How will he get it ultimately do you think? Overall, what do you think the story might show us regarding the line between the two and how the pursuit of either can change someone?
10. How do you think everyone’s relationships with each other will be challenged given both Behzad’s solo pursuit of the murderers and some of the team member’s withholding information? Will the team be able to survive the conflict?
11. Do you think the characters will be able to recover their hope after losing Isa and Scotty? Overall, given the themes of hope within the story, what do you think is the overall message regarding it?
12. What do you think the ultimate plan of 58 is? Why does it involve murdering Isa and Scotty and replacing them with doubles? Why do you think Behzad wasn’t killed yet, and what might the villains have planned for him?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!
snuffysam (Super Galaxy Knights)
I'm absolutely loving Hope Killerz! The artstyle is amazing, as everyone's said. I love how each panel sets the mood with its unique playing of color palettes! I am curious as to what the ultimate plan is, replacing Isa and Scotty with doubles and seemingly wanting to use this version of Behzad too. Perhaps... 58's plan is to create a team consisting of the most "bold" versions of each hero? Like, Behzad went off on his own rather than waiting around for an investigation - 58 wants a whole team of people like him. As for why... perhaps vengeance for 58 losing his own team?
RebelVampire
Vengeance is plausible. Although I kind of feel there's gotta be more to it than that. Since you can get vengeance without needing to create doubles.
I really like that this comic kind of explores the theme of justice vs. vengeance. With the rise of superhero movies and such, it's kind of easy to forget that there is a really fine line between them. Which in this case, I think Behzad definitely wants vengeance, although I don't think Behzad will get it. I think someone will knock some sense into the idea before it gets that far. However, overall though, I think the story does a great job that it only really takes one step to go from justice to just wanting to hurt people because you're hurt - even at the cost of your personal relationships. Which is definitely going to be a big thing. I definitely think the other characters, especially Hodori, is gonna feel betrayed by Behzad's action. Maybe empathetic, but no way there isn't a rift created. And as more comes to light, none of them will be sure they can trust each other, and that will make Isa and Scotty's loss even more poignant and bring up the question if the group can survive without them.
But I don't think it's all hopeless. I kind of feel that despite their feelings at the moment, time will heal the teams wounds and that they'll find the resolve to hope. Cause you can basically pull hope out of nothing.
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Unfortunately I'm feeling a bit lost in the story. There are a lot of characters and a lot of scene changes, and I'm having a hard time differentiating the personalities of all the characters. Maybe I just wasn't reading closely enough? Or maybe the plot'll be more clear in the future? The story is just getting started, after all, so I figure the author is kind of front loading all the setup and character introductions. I do really like the art. It's fun and different. I stumbled across this comic a while ago but didn't read much of it, and the art was memorable enough that seeing it again in the bookclub I immediately recognized that I'd seen it before. 9) Both. Don't think he's really thinking straight due to his grief, and is mostly just driven by emotion right now. 10) Probably, just going from the tone of the comic and the art I feel like this will have a happy ending. I think this is an optimistic comic. 5) The author seems to have a love of drawing butts. I appreciate that. Particularly in the little end chapter sketches. 1) I liked everything about the beginning of the comic. Though it was very strong. Not often do you see a vigilante character feeling regret over their chosen path

DISCUSSION PROMPTS – PART 3
13. What are you most looking forward to seeing in regards to the comic?
14. Any final words of encouragement for the comic?
Don’t feel inspired by the prompts? Feel free to discuss anything else that interested you!
RebelVampire
For this comic, I'm definitely looking forward mostly to finding out about 58's plan since there's a lot of directions the story could go at the moment. I'll be interested to see which path will be taken. Regardless, I hope the creator continues with the color experimentation in the comic since it makes it visually stand out, and it'll be interesting to see how this plays out when the comic is further along.
snuffysam (Super Galaxy Knights)
Yeah for Hope Killerz, what I'm really looking forward to is... more. Like the art is so unique and so stylish, and the characters have interesting motivations behind them, I'm just curious to see where this all pans out.

Welcome to “8 Questions with…..”
In doing this series and especially of late,I have been really blessed to be able to talk to a lot artists that I have on a “wish list”. These are people whom I really want to talk with but I don’t think I’ll get a chance to. Ashley Kate Adams was on the list. I first was introduced to Ashley Kate and her talent when the cheetah and I watched a excellent film called “1 Message“. Its a story about a young woman who gets breast cancer amd who is slowly falling into a deep depression. When the young woman meets a man online while tracking down her family tree, the connection changes her life on so many levels. This is a movie that I loved quite a bit and I thought Ashley Kate Adams did a great job in what I found later was her feature film debut and she was only 21 when she filmed it. Since then I have been following her career and chatting once in a while on Twitter. Last week I decided to take a chance and ask Ashley Kate for a interview and to my surprise answered “Yes,I do” within 5 minutes. While we were talking,I asked about her new big project,”Boy Hero” which is set during the 1954 Senate Comic Book Hearings and where publisher Williams Gaines and his legendary EC Comics were grilled because of the content. It was also during the height of McCarthyism and the Hollywood blacklisting,a dark and despairing time (as well as a forgotten period). As soon as we as a society are allowed ,Ashley Kate is kicking “Boy Hero” into high gear and we’ll be posting updates on how the film is progressing. * As you can see,Ashley Kate is a woman on the go,go,go!! I am so happy that we got a chance to catch her in mid-stride so she could slow down enough to answer her 8 Questions…….
Please introduce yourself and tell us about your latest project?
Hello! My name is Ashley Kate Adams & I am an actress, producer & writer living in NYC! Right now we are so excited to be introducing Frankie! The Musical Cast Concept Album to the world. It releases this Friday, May 29th, on Broadway Records and will be available everywhere music can be streamed. Frankie! The Musical (@frankiemusical) is written by 16-year old Composer and light, Elise Marra. The album is produced by AKA Studio Productions & Mitchell Walker! Our other main project is “Boy Hero”, a feature film inspired by the Comic Book Trials of 1954. I wrote the 1950’s period film which was inspired by a panel I saw called “When the American Librarian Saved Comics” by Carol Tilley. The film is rounding out development and will be Produced by AKA Studio Productions, Pigasus Pictures & AR Productions and will film in Cincinnati! Please follow us (@boyheromovie) for more exciting updates on fundraising development and production of the film.

How have you been coping with Covid-19 pandemic? How are you staying creative and focused?
I have been thinking a lot about this recently. I’ve been coping with Covid-19 productively. I think many things prepared me for this, the main being thing being the sudden loss of my father in 2016 to cancer. During that time I had to learn to balance many things in conjunction with being completely gutted out with grief. During that time I turned to creating to heal myself and process my emotions so during this pandemic I have followed suit. I’ve actually been working at home with my production company since 2011 so that routine feels like a continuation. We were very lucky, we had just gotten many incredible projects like Frankie! in the can before it felt as if the world froze. Now these projects are able to bring joy to others during this time. On Friday’s I’ve been going LIVE with #BYOP to lead conversations on Grief & Productivity for the Creative @ashleykateadams on Instagram. It’s been important for me to try to help folks navigate this time!
When did you first catch the acting bug and what was the reaction like with your family and friends?
I don’t know if I ever caught the acting bug I was kind of just born into the industry. It is what our family does as our family business. You know some families might have a restaurant or a heating & cooling company, we are performers. My parents, who also majored in musical theatre in college (that’s how they met) were VERY honest with me about how hard my future was going to be to move to NYC and pursue this full-time but they knew it was what I was called to do. And I got to make space here for my sister 10 years my junior, Audrey Belle Adams, who recently began her adult career also based out of New York City.
How did you land the lead role in your first feature film “1 Message”? What three things did you take with you from the experience? How important is faith to you?
I actually landed my role in “1 Message” thanks to my father. He pitched me at a dinner meeting where the director happened to be. I then auditioned and got the role. That film taught me a lot. The first was that leading a film and being on camera 14 hours a day, 6 days a week is an extremely challenging job. Which leads me to the second thing, I learned how to treat actors on set. The “1 Message” experience is one that seeded in me the need to become an independent film producer to make sure I was always taking care of my actors in an extremely supportive way. Environment, transparency & discernment are everything on a project. The third thing I learned was how strong and aware I was even at a younger age on set. Faith is important to me. It is important to me to believe in something much bigger than yourself.
(Michael Kushner Photography)
Which do you like more? Doing TV/film work or live theater and why?
I love both equally but for different reasons. Right now I am very much falling deeper in love with film. I love learning and because I was raised literally at a theatre, in film there is still so much to learn for me. I love each new project on any side. It’s a blast to me navigating each nuance!
(Michael Kushner Photography)
What have been the three pieces of advice given to you in regards to being a performer?
Wow! Great question. “Your best secret weapon is yourself”. That was taught to me by the head of my musical theatre program at CCM, Aubrey Berg. He was correct. I would say the next is to “Be a kind person who people enjoy working with” from Sandra Rivera of Dancensation Studios and the most recent from this past winter break to “Keep saying yes to the right things and keep expanding” from one of my high school mentors, the great Gail Benedict.
(Michael Kushner Photography)
What roles challenge you most as an actress and how do you adapt to make the role yours?
Wheeew. For me the biggest challenge of my actor life was doing “A Christmas Carol(e)”, a one- woman show, directed & written by Alex Freeman. It was terrifying because it was only me on stage for 70 minutes. All I could do to survive it was to walk through it and continue to adapt. Every. Single. Second. I had to be truly present without a fourth wall. There was no protection, no sheen. I love hiding behind characters. I revel in it. It allows me space for courage to be more vulnerable. I’m a weirdo, my prep is usually reading, researching and then I adapt my breath and body. Everything else just kinda happens. The magic of acting!
How did the idea for #BYOP come about? What makes a good producer in your opinion?
#BYOP (Be Your Own Producer) came from seeing the need for it. As a producer, actor and creative I can only take on so many projects full time at once but #BYOP allows me to be available to you and your project on an hourly basis. It also teaches content creators how to producer so they can become sustainable and independent! During the pandemic it expanded to teaching these intentions in a group digital setting. The brand is continuing to grow and diversify. In development are many exciting new pieces, perhaps something you could listen to and something you can hold. Stay tuned and be sure to follow @ashleykateadams for updates! ! ; )
(Michael Kushner Photography)
You created a one woman show called “A Christmas Carole” for the theater, where did you come up with the idea and how hard is doing a one person production on a nightly basis?
I helped to create the show but I cannot take credit for the idea or writing on that one, that was my creative partner in crime, Alex Freeman. We put it up in 6 days with the help of our two amazing stage managers. It’s exhausting and exhilarating doing a one person production. I lived like a nun during the day to stay calm and preserve all of my energy for the performances. I still can’t believe I did it!
How important are awards to you as a performer?
Awards are not important to me as a performer, but the respect and nod that comes because of them is appreciated. I got my first best actress award in 2018 for Alex Freeman’s two-hander “Love” at the New York Theatre Festival. It’s hard being a woman in the business on every side. Especially as a Producer. So when a group of people decide not only that you “did well” but that you should be “acknowledged”, that is nice.
You love to sing, what makes a good song and which three Broadway scores would you love to sing if given a chance? Who is your favorite singer/band at this moment?
I do love to sing! It’s a part of my identity even though I’ve been more internal as of late with my creativity. I would say three Broadway scores I would love to sing through would be “Waitress”, “Sunday in the Park with George” and “The Sound of Music”. My favorite singer is my sister, Audrey Belle Adams @abelleadams, always and forever because she has the most flexible vocal instrument I have ever heard and my favorite band right now is M.N.O.P. @MNOP_music. They have rockin’ folk punk music, a kick butt lead female singer & a really cute drummer : )
How important is self-promotion to you and your career?
Self-Promotion is a large part of a creative career. In the age of social media & “influencers”, it has to be. I have not always been good at it. I had to learn to produce others to get comfortable producing & promoting myself.
What do you like to do on your down time?
In my downtime I like doing yoga, going on walks, listening to true crime podcasts, reading, taking class and spending time with my loved ones.
The cheetah and I are flying over to watch to you in “A Christmas Carol(e)” but we are a day early and now you are stuck playing tour guide, what are we doing?
If A Christmas Carol(e) played NYC and there was a day off I would say to spend the morning in Central Park, afternoon around Bryant Park popping into the Strand Book Store & the Bean coffee shop and to spend the evening in the theatre district enjoying an OPEN Broadway. Late evening in the village hopping venues and listening to live music!
(Michael Kushner Photography)
I want to not only thank Ashley Kate for chatting with us but also for being inspired to make “Boy Hero”. I cut my fanboy teeth reading EC Comics growing up. When I read William Gaines bio and found out just how close that comic books were to being banned,it was shocking. Without Gaines and a slew of others, including many librarians fighting this censorship, there would no “Star Wars”,Marvel or DC or many cultural icons we take for granted today. Like I wrote before, this is a forgotten piece of American history and much respect to Ashley Kate and her production team on making this film to hopefully remind us of what we almost lost.
Ashley Kate has several different ways that you can keep track of her and her various projects.
You can follow Ashley Kate on her InstaGram page. You can check out Ashley Kate’s next project via her IMDb page. You can also follow “Boy Hero” on InstaGram as well. You can also visit Ashley Kate’s personal website by going here.
Thank you for reading and supporting (and sharing) Ashley Kate’s interview. Feel free to drop a question below and stay tuned for updates about “Boy Hero”. You can also read past “8 Questions” interviews by going here.

17 Side Hustle Ideas for People Who Are Already Way Too Busy
So you're trying to make some extra money on the side, and are looking for side hustle ideas to cash in on the entrepreneur lifestyle. Because everyone's doing it — side hustling to make some extra cash, trying out a couple of side gigs or work from home jobs here and there.
But if you're already working a regular 9-to-5, aren't you already way too busy?
How do you find the time to do all of this side hustling and still enjoy living your life?
Indeed, a lot of side hustles focus solely on the “hustle” part. For example, you'll find suggestions all over the internet about becoming a driver for Uber or Lyft ridesharing, and Amazon Flex or Prime Now delivery services. GrubHub and DoorDash are popular services for restaurant delivery.
But what if you don't have the time or bandwidth to do all of that physical hustling? What if you already work a full-time job, therefore, only have a few hours a week to dedicate to side gigs?
Why Some Side Hustle Ideas Just Don't Work
Additionally, some people may not have the flexibility or convenience of doing extra work outside of the home.
There could be many different reasons for this, such as:
Not having reliable transportation
Caring for children or older family members
A physical or emotional disability keeping them at home
Unpredictable or longer hours during their full-time job
No familial support for working an additional job
I want to play devil's advocate to the high-powered motivational gurus who say things like “Your Only Limit is Yourself” and “If You Want it Bad Enough, You'll Find a Way to Do It.”
I call total BS on that sentiment.
Why? Because many people are over-stressed, overworked, undervalued, and underpaid.
When you're already teetering on the edge of financial chaos, you will grasp at whatever lifeline you feel you're capable of grabbing.
And it's entirely unhelpful for a self-proclaimed money expert to declare you're just not working hard enough.
Seriously??
The Anti-Social Media Influencer
Also, I'd like to throw something a little bit controversial out there. Some people (not naming any names) just don't like other people.
There, I said it.
Because there are those of us who really value our “alone time.” So working 40+ hours a week for someone else, and then having to dedicate another 10-15 hours for an external side hustle — will not last very long.
You can only force yourself into uncomfortable situations for so long before you finally throw your arms up in the air and yell, “Screw it!”. (or another similar phrase).
Human interaction overload can send some anti-social butterflies into an anxious tailspin.
Like, if you need me, I'll be locked away in my bedroom for the next two days, recovering from all the “people”-ing I've had to do lately. Just leave a pizza and a few bottles of water by the door. And maybe a pint of Ben & Jerry's. As long as I have my phone, my laptop, and my dogs — I'll be pretty self-sufficient. Okay, and maybe my Kindle. That's all I'll need. But don't worry about me, because I just need to recharge for a while. Build up that outer shell of protection that's chipped away after too many back-to-back in-person events.
The Introvert Advantage of an Online Side Hustle
If you happen to be a people person, then much of the above probably did not make a whole lot of sense.
But if you found this article because you're looking for ways for making money online — without a lot of human interaction — then there's a good chance you know what I'm s.
There are ways to make extra money on the side, on your terms, on a part-time basis.
And it is certainly possible to work from home, at your own pace, and on your own schedule, without having to leave the house whatsoever.
Now, don't get me wrong — it most likely will not make you rich.
Let's say that again —
It is highly unlikely that you will become rich off of a part-time, online, side hustle.
Others may tell you differently. Most likely, they are trying to sell you something. But I don't want your money. I want you to make money.
I mean, I could use some money, but it's not yours that I'm after.
What I'd love is for you to read my articles and pass them along to your friends.
But I'm not selling anything. I don't have a course, or an ebook, or online coaching sessions.
I'm sharing side hustle ideas to get it out there to the people who have one (or two, or three) too many bills.
Or are strapped for cash due to an unexpected expense. Or maybe went a little too crazy this past holiday season, and are still trying to dig out from under the credit cards.
I've been there, you've been there, we've all been there. And if you haven't, then you're probably a Kardashian or something.
Side Gigs That Require a Lot of Hustle, with Little Gain
When so many online articles offer “99 Easy Ways to Make Extra Money on the Side” or “Top 25 Side Hustle Ideas to Make You Rich”, it can be utterly discouraging to find side hustle ideas that can actually work for you.
So many suggest ideas such as tag sale/flea market flipping, selling handcrafted products on eBay or Etsy, or selling wholesale on Amazon FBA, where you have to package and mail these items out.
Flipping rental properties, renting out your vehicle, house sitting/pet sitting, house cleaning (when our own houses may have dust bunnies that should be paying rent by now). Again, these are all notably profitable side hustle ideas. But they also require a fair amount of time, physical activity, and effort.
17 Best Side Hustle Ideas That You Can Do from Home
Okay, so if you've made it this far and you're still with me, then I can only assume you'd like to hear more.
We've established the difference between in-home, online side hustles and external, physically busting-your-butt best side hustles. Neither concept is right or wrong. It's really just a matter of preference.
And I prefer the flexibility of working at home, according to my schedule, while maximizing my earnings potential, especially since my day job is also from home. If your regular 9-to-5 has you out and about, then your preference may be different.
For example, I have a friend who does amazingly well with a mystery shopping side hustle. So well, that she is currently writing a book about it. She travels around the state quite a bit and can cash in by scheduling several shops back to back. That's a perfect way to maximize efficiencies, and get the best bang for your buck (+ better gas mileage).
But if you have a situation that's better suited for working from home, then read on for some different side hustle ideas.
Side Hustle Working Entirely from Home
The following side hustle ideas can be done entirely from home, according to your schedule. While there is a certain level of effort involved — you can make your own hours. Plus, you can do as much or as little as you'd like. The earning potential and growth potential is limitless with many of these ideas.
First let's start with an obvious one, to get it out of the way —
Online Surveys
Who hasn't tried online surveys? I think out of all the side hustle ideas out there, “taking surveys” takes the cake in terms of getting a bad rap. Online surveys have gotten some negative press over the years, simply because they're the absolute easiest way to make a little bit of money. Emphasis on “little bit.” But it's still making money.
Because all you have to do is provide your opinion — something every one of us has. The hard part is finding a company that will pay you top dollar for the least amount of your time. And for my money, I'll take my chances with Survey Savvy every time. Why? Because out of all the companies I've tried, Survey Savvy has consistently sent me the most surveys in the $1, $2, and $5 price range.
Most other companies will either give you pennies, or award points you need to accumulate & convert into a few dollars. Additionally, joining the Survey Savvy team will allow even more money-making opportunities. For example, their Cash for Junk Mail program, and also various online research communities.
IntelliZoom Panel
IntelliZoom is a cross between an online survey and website user testing. You're assigned a task, which usually involves evaluating a website. They record all steps of the job with either screen recording software, webcam video, or both. You walk through all of the task steps, answering questions, and explaining your thought process. They encourage you to “Think Out Loud” to understand the average customer mindset. And the reason I include this company here is because the payout is $10 per study. With other online surveys or web testing sites, you might be lucky enough to stumble across a $10 review. But it isn't something offered consistently.
Kindle Self-Publishing
Are you more of a creative type? If you love to write stories, you should consider self-publishing on Amazon. You might think getting a book published would be a complicated process, but it isn't.
Using the Kindle Direct Publishing platform, they take care of all of the technical details. You upload your completed document, add a cover image and description, and Amazon takes care of the rest. Many people make great side incomes by writing short stories. And the beauty of this is — once you have your book listed on Amazon, it will stay there for years to come, earning income with no additional work on your end.
eJury Member
If you watch prime time television, you may have seen the popular CBS show “Bull,” starring Michael Weatherly. It's a courtroom drama about a trial-consulting firm that assembles mock juries to help predict potential trial outcomes. Sound interesting? Well, you can have the opportunity to do the same thing, entirely online.
eJury.com brings together online juries and focus groups to help attorneys develop their case strategies, based on valuable data and information that YOU provide. You can sign up to be an eJuror right on the website. And will be contacted once a qualifying case becomes available. A typical case consists of a written description — facts, diagrams, pictures, and questions. The average case study takes 35 minutes, and you are paid $5 – $10 per case, depending on length.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing, if done correctly, is pretty much a “set it and forget it.” A certain amount of work is required up front, and then after that will be totally passive income. So what exactly is affiliate marketing? It's when you vouch for a product or service, recommending it to others. And then that company offers you a reward for bringing in new customers. It could be a certain dollar amount, a free product, or a free service, depending on what the company sells. And it's something everyone can do, even if you don't have a blog or professional online presence.
I'm sure you've heard of cashback or refund programs like Ebates (aka Rakuten), where you get money back from making purchases online. But did you know you can also make money as an Ebates affiliate? You sign up through their affiliate program and are given your own personal affiliate link. Then you promote your link on social media, or by email to family and friends, and yes, even on your blog, if you have one.
And for every person who signs up through your link with a qualifying sale, you will earn $25. That's huge!
And it's also why so many people promote Ebates online. It's a heck of a lot easier to earn $25 referrals than actually to earn $25 cashback after making online purchases.
Fun fact: Ebates has been officially renamed/rebranded to “Rakuten,” which means “optimism” in Japanese.
Selling Photos & Stock Footage
If you were to look at your phone right now, how many photos do you think would be on there? I just looked at mine, and I have 668 photos, plus 104 videos. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could somehow make money on a few of these photos? I don't mean by selling out your bestie, or posting a bunch of selfies online. But if you have high-quality photos (in focus, non-blurry) of outdoor scenes, foliage, nature, animals, flowers, sunsets — you name it — you can make money by selling them online.
Websites like Shutterstock, Pond5, iStock/Getty Images, and Fotolia will pay you for your still pictures or stock footage (short video clips). Each company has specific guidelines. But in general, they look for quality photos that are generic and seasonal, which others can then purchase for commercial or personal use through their website. Also, if there are people in your pics or footage, then a model release form also needs to be completed.
Merch by Amazon
One of the quickest and easiest ways to sell a physical product online is through Print on Demand. That means you provide a design, and the POD company takes care of the printing, shipping, and customer support. Merch by Amazon is the platform I recommend for getting started with POD since it's user-friendly and extremely popular. I mean, everybody has shopped on Amazon one or two times, right?
To get started selling on Merch, all you need are a few creative ideas and an app to mock up your design. There are so many designing apps out there, accessible for computers and also for smartphones. Some free and popular programs are GIMP, Canva, Stencil, Over, and WordRabbit.
Side Hustle Ideas that are Mostly Passive Working from Home
This next group of side hustle ideas can also be done from home, and are very close to being entirely passive. Some additional work may be involved, but something that can be handled while multitasking.
ThredUp Clothing Consignment
The only real work involved with this side hustle is washing and folding the gently used clothing you plan on selling online. ThredUp will mail a shipping bag and postage-paid shipping label right to you (in what they call a “Clean Out Kit”). You place all of the items in the bag, seal it, and schedule a free pickup from USPS or FedEx.
Upon receipt, ThredUp will inspect all of the items, determine prices, then list them for sale. And as each item is sold, you'll receive the cash into your linked account, which is way easier than listing individual items online on eBay and then having to ship purchases to the buyers. ThredUp takes all of the grunt work out of the process for you.
Scanning Receipts
This is something you need to remember to do, but it's pretty quick & no thought is involved. The next time you spend a day grocery shopping or erranding, make sure you save those paper receipts! There are several smartphone apps where you can scan your receipts for cash. So remind everyone in your family to keep their receipts as well. I do this at home — everyone drops their paper receipts on the kitchen table, I scoop them up & scan into all of my apps.
Some of the most popular receipt scanning apps are Receipt Pal, Receipt Hog, and Fetch Rewards. You gain points for scanning paper receipts, and can also connect an email address to include email receipts from online purchases. Depending on how frequently you scan, it may take a few months before you can cash in. But again, this is such a low amount of effort. And you're doing the shopping anyway, so already have the receipts. Instead of crumpling them in a ball and throwing them away, make them go a bit further for you and cash in.
Search Bar Rewards
How often do you use Google to search online? Once a day? Several times a day? Well, some companies will pay you for using their search engine. Two examples that immediately come to mind are Swagbucks and Bing. One of my peers uses Bing exclusively for searches to accumulate Bing Reward points.
He has teenagers who play video games on Xbox. He tells me you can use your reward points to pay for your Xbox Live monthly subscription. He said he'd used points to pay for an entire year of Xbox Live up front and has done this for several years.
Now that's impressive — solely from doing online searches that you're going to do regardless. So instead of asking someone to “Google it,” maybe instead say “Bing it“!
Picky Domains
Picky Domains is a site I've recently discovered, and have been trying out. I include it in this post because I thought it was such a fun concept, and I'd never heard of this side hustle idea. Customers sign up with Picky Domains when they are looking for a brand name or domain name suggestions. They put together a short business background and show you the parameters — like associated keywords, and a maximum number of words or letters.
And as a Picky Domains contributor, you would suggest names that they might like. If the customer picks your suggestion, then you get paid between $20-$75, depending on the type of order. Also, you can make a small amount of bonus money even if the customer likes your suggestion, but ultimately doesn't select it. If you have a creative streak and are good with words, it should be easy to make dozens of recommendations for each company — something you can do while watching TV at night, with really no effort involved.
Amazon Influencer Storefront
If you are active on social media, whether it's Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest, you may want to consider becoming an Amazon Influencer. That is slightly different from their affiliate program because, as an Influencer, you get to create your storefront on Amazon, with a custom Amazon URL. (With the Amazon affiliate program, you have a unique link to specific products that you place in other online locations.)
When you set up your storefront, you're curating all of your favorite Amazon content to display in your store. And you can create separate Idea Lists, that serve as categories. For example, you can create an Idea List of Best Summer Reads, or Must-Have Hair Care Products, or Cutest Dog Halloween Costumes. Then you can share your Amazon storefront link wherever you have an audience or followers. And when customers shop through your storefront, you earn money on qualifying purchases.
Pay Your Selfie
Pay Your Selfie is a fun one that you can do while multitasking, and can help you earn a few extra bucks every month. With the Pay Your Selfie app, you earn money by posting selfies of certain everyday situations. For example, a “BBQ Grillin' Selfie,” or “What's For Breakfast? Selfie“, and even a “Where Do You Keep Your Marshmallows? Selfie“. You'll receive anywhere from 25 cents to $1 for each approved selfie. Again, not a tremendous amount of money, but a chunk of change that can add up for the minimal effort!
Working Mainly from Home, Minimal Human Interaction
Here are some side hustle ideas where you can make money from home, but may need to engage in a small amount of human interaction. Which wouldn't be an everyday occurrence, but may happen every once in a while.
Online or Telephone Focus Groups
Online Focus Groups are a great way to make money from home by providing your opinion. They're similar to online surveys, except they pay a lot more. Like, it wouldn't be challenging to locate an opportunity where you can make from $50 – $200. But in general, you need to qualify for a particular demographic. So you more than likely will need to complete a short survey upfront to make sure you fit the criteria required by the focus group. The focus group may take the form of an online community or forum, where they want you to post your opinion on something. Or a company may mail you a product to use, and then you need to tell them what you thought about it. It could even be a brand new smartphone app that they'd like you to try out & give your opinion on.
A lot of this communication gets done entirely online. But sometimes companies may offer phone interviews, where you need to talk to an actual person to answer questions. There are even in-person focus groups, like the ones you see on TV in car commercials. When you register with a research organization, you typically set your preferences — whether you prefer online, text, telephone, or in-person focus groups.
A few organizations where you can sign up for focus groups are Find Focus Groups, Survey Squad, and User Interviews.
Census-TakerAnother not-so-common suggestion for working from home is to be a Census Taker. I know what you're thinking — There's no way I'm going door-to-door, counting everyone who lives in each house.
But hear me out.
That's only one aspect of what the Census Team does. And I only know this because I got the chance to speak with a 2020 Census Recruiter a few weeks ago when I attended a local ChooseFI meetup. So while they do have door-to-door Census Takers, there are also plenty of online research positions where you can work from home part-time. They train you on how to use online tools to verify the information. In certain situations, you may need to drive to a location and take a picture of a house or building. That would be in situations where they cannot validate that someone lives in residence. For example, in the case of foreclosures or if a previous resident has passed away. But the majority of this verification can be done online.
If you check out their website, you can see the pay grade that applies to your location. In the county where I live, the pay would be $21 per hour — which is not bad at all, right?
Totally Passive Income
These next few side hustle ideas require virtually no effort and produce completely passive income. But they may not be for everyone. They need a certain level of transparency, allowing these companies into your daily online behavior. So if you're a little hesitant about “Big Brother” watching you, these may not be a good fit for you. However, if you don't mind sharing a few of your online habits, you can cash in by receiving money for doing nothing.
And I will tell you; I currently participate in both of these. (But then again, my life isn't all that exciting, so they're probably not discovering a ton of useful information!)
Digital Reflection
With Digital Reflection, you get paid for having a hardware device connected to your computer router. Also, you earn quarterly bonus payments for validating any online devices used in your household (laptops, cell phones, tablets). According to the company website, they gather data to create research reports for businesses around the world, and the reports never contain any personally identifiable information.
As far as the pay, you'll receive $20 for signing up and installing their device, the “internet meter.” Then you earn $5 for each month that the meter is plugged in. Every quarter you get a $20 bonus. They also throw out a few extra bonuses every once in a while, for installing updates and validating your information. I've been a member for roughly a year and a half and have made $365. For doing nothing but keeping a device plugged in.
Savvy Connect
Similar to Digital Reflection, Savvy Connect pays you money when you connect their program to your devices. They collect data as you surf the web, and track trends in online search, shopping, and entertainment. And in return, you earn cash rewards. Savvy Connect is part of the Survey Savvy program.
In Summary
Working a side hustle doesn't have to take every spare second of your day. Especially if you already have a full-time job. Because your time is just as valuable as money. And you need to have a healthy balance between work time, fun time, and downtime — or else you may find yourself in an unhappy situation.
Also, if you're not a super-social go-getter, you don't have to work the hustles that put you out in the spotlight. There are tons of ways to make money on the side. The side hustle ideas in this post are merely scratching the surface on how you can earn extra income.

Is it shameful to let your son/daughter go without health insurance?
When I turned 21, I got taken off my parents' health insurance. I did not have a job at the time, and could not afford to buy insurance on my own, so I was forced to go without it. Well, I became very sick and was hospitalized for 4 days with food poisoning. The hospital bills total around $50,000, and I was denied Medicaid because I was paying $1400 a month in rent (money I accumulated through prostitution, if you want the truth), and the hospital's social worker felt if I could afford $1400/month in rent, I could afford the hospital bills. Friends of mine at the time were really hard on my parents, especially my mom, saying what kind of a lousy mother would let her son go without health insurance? No editorial comment from me. ""Insurance Claim estimate lower than expected, what do I do?""
An elderly lady backed up into my car a few days ago and we decided it'd be best to file an insurance claim. After the claim was ruled in my favor I was sent to a body shop for an estimate of the repair. The damage was to the rear quarter panel of my car which consisted of a scrape across the panel and a quarter sized dent in the panel. The insurance adjuster gave me an estimate and check for 855$. My question is in regards to the repairs, I feel that since this is 100% the other party's fault and since I am the person who has to drive the car that I am entitled to the maximum premium in repairs. I have been reading on Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) and most will say that its the cheap way of making a repair. Does anyone know if it would be possible to go back and get a new estimate/settlement for a new rear quarter panel? Basically my logic is this, if you damage any of my property it should be 100% my call if I want to settle for a compromise or not.""

""Why do libs think health care is a right? What next, car insurance? How about free food for everyone?""
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of 'Free' Health Care Every new 'right' the U.S. government has promised has turned into a massively expensive failure, yet the media continue to cheer supporters of tax-funded programs. Americans are obsessed with rights. We always have been. But the concept of rights our forefathers laid out in the Declaration of Independence has changed dramatically. Those rights life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were acknowledged to come from the Almighty, given equally to all people. Todays rights come from Almighty Government. Health care is the newest right. From presidential candidates universal plans to the return of HillaryCare to Michael Moores movie Sicko, its all over the media. Calling it a right is an emotional argument advanced by those who want others to pay for their health care. They bring out the children and ask whether anyone can deny them the basic human right of health care but dont bother with the evidence showing how health care in this country would be harmed by government control. A look at other modern rights might give us a clue about how well a new system would work. These rights started out as privileges, among them education and a paid retirement. Now education is not only considered a right, its a mandate. How well has it worked? American students attend school at least until their teen years, but 15-year-olds ranked 24th out of 29 countries in aptitude for real-life math problems, according to The Washington Post. Literacy surveys suggest one in five American adults is functionally illiterate. And taxpayers keep shelling out money to fund the system. Americans also cherish the right to retire but we expect to be supported in our old age. Younger workers and employers are forced to support retirees, funding another right. And how well has that worked? The poorly designed, outdated Social Security system is disintegrating rapidly as the number of retirees balloons. But once youve established a right, its difficult to take it away. The government, which promises such rights, must go to its sugar daddy taxpayers to keep the rights coming. Were already well on our way toward the health care right/mandate. Want to be more like Canada? Its not that far off. Catos Michael Cannon has pointed out that third parties in America pay 86 cents of every dollar of our health care about the same as Canadas socialized system. What we or rather, those third parties pay for health care is already determined by the government as well. Emory University medical professor Robert Swerlick has noted that the pricing of medical care in this country is either directly or indirectly dictated by Medicare. This market meddling even causes doctor shortages, he says, in needed areas of specialty. Prescription drugs are already considered a right, thanks to political moves like the Medicare drug benefit and massive media support. A Business & Media Institute study found broadcast journalists treating prescription drugs as though they grew on trees. Overall, the coverage supported the idea that medications should magically be available to everyone at far lower costs. Of course, the magic behind new rights is your money. Cannon and fellow Cato expert Michael Tanner explained problems with tax-funded care in their book Healthy Competition: Whats Holding Back Health Care and How to Free It. If health care is guaranteed to everyone, how much does everyone get? Who decides who receives what, and how would the care be administered? What happens if everyone wants the most expensive treatment available? With the wide variety of medical tests and treatments that consumers may claim as their right, someone at some point must decide where the right to health care ends, lest the nation be bankrupted, they wrote. Were well on our way toward that as well. Our rights to Social Security and Medicare devour about 40 percent of the federal budget. State and local property tax revenue, which normally funds education, mushroomed about 35 percent between 2000 and 2005, according to the Tax Foundation. We cant afford any more rights like that. But the left says tax-funded care is right for the children. Meanwhile, what becomes of them? Theyre growing up in an America where the rights mentality is deeply ingrained, and the media continue to feed them with it. When the children come of age, perhaps theyll want the right to a job. They wont remember that France already tested that idea for us, and it led to high unemployment and rioting. Perhaps theyll guarantee Disney vacations for all families and force childless Americans to pay for it. The pursuit of will conveniently fade away as they look to government to guarantee happiness. They will know less and less of a true right liberty and have no idea where it comes from.""

Does getting a motorcycle license increase life insurance costs?
I plan on finally (waiting for years) obtaining a motorcycle license this coming summer. I have little experience on the bike but plan to take the msf basic riding course and will be fully geared / have motorcycle license. My question is: will having a motorcycle license increase the monthly costs of life insurance? I have yet to get a policy, and I was wondering whether getting life insurance before my license would make a difference or not. Thank you""

How does a wrecked car loan payoff (by insurance company) affect credit score?
I have a car that I have a loan on that has been wrecked. Since the bank owns the car, I have full coverage & insurance is writing it off. They are going to cut a check to the bank for the balance due on the car. I have so far paid this loan on time; it has been rebuilding my credit. When the loan is paid off by insurance, will I get more points to my score since the loan was technically paid off early? Or will I only gain based on my status as paid ontime at this point?""
What happens if u get caught driving alone on a permit in California?
So last night, I was stupid enough to go out and get food on my permit around 8pm alone. I also forgot to turn on my headlights, I thought I turned them on but apparently I only turned on my parking lights. And I got pulled over, he gave me a ticket for 12500(a) cvc for unlicensed driver, and 24250 cvc for driving with no headlights at night. I wasn't driving bad, I just didn't have my headlights on. I have to show up to court next month, what is going to happen?... I live in California. Thanks. AND JUST WONDERING, WILL IT SHOW UP AS A POINT ON MY RECORD? AND HOW MUCH WILL THE INSURANCE RISE?""
Will damages to my rental car go to my car insurance if I was not the one driving?
I have terrible luck lately. Two weeks ago I totaled my car (my fault) and I have a rental until tomorrow. Rental is from enterprise and paid for thru my car insurance. On my rental agreement I did not list any other drivers, and since it was paid for by my car insurance the guy crossed out the extra insurance and just asked me how much my car insurance deductible is and wrote that down($250). Today, I looked at the agreement and I actually hadn't signed it when I rented the car (even though there is a place for me to sign)...hmm...(?) SO, last night I was drinking and my boyfriend was not so he drove us home- in my rental. A car hit the rear driver side of us and it caused a dent and some paint damage. Called the cops, the other driver lied and nobody cited. I DO NOT want my insurance to know, since I just totaled my car. Boyfriend has full coverage, can it go on his? or will it go on mine? Can we just pay for it in cash & not use insurance? Its minor, fix before I turn it back in ?""

Is this typical for insurance for a 17 year old?!?
I just bought my first car Saturday. My dad went to the DMV to get it registered and insured. Then, he called our insurance company to get a quote for how much driver's insurance is for a 16 year old female. If you take driver's ed, watch a state farm video, and have a G.P.A above 3.0, comes to.... $88 A MONTH!!!! That's with driver's ed, and a G.P.A above 3.0! Now my parents are really upset, 'cuz that's thousands of extra dollars a year--not on gas, not on the vehicle itself...Just insurance! They're not sure I can get my license now b/c of it. This really frustrates me. I will be 17 in a couple months, and I really, really, really want to get my driver's license. I have a car, I'll buy the gas, but the insurance is astounding! So my question is, is $88 A MONTH typical for other companies/ or in other states (We're in AZ).""

How much do you think my car insurance will go up???
I got caught speeding in a school zone. The speed limit was 20mph and i was going 37 mph. that is 17mph over the speed limit. i already have one speeding ticket on my record and have doubled one to get it taken off. i talked to a lawyer and to get it dropped down the prosecuter wants me to tripple the fine, take a driving class, and go on diversion for a year. That would cost me at least $800. so i am thinking about risking just paying it and seeing how mush my car insurance will actually go up. the fine on the ticket is $165 and i am a 18 year old male. SHOULD I RISK IT or not???""

Do I qualify for federal health insurance?
My parents don't get insurance through their jobs, and they can't afford private insurance. My parents and I are currently enrolled in an assistance program through our local hospital. I go to a private university that requires for students to have some type of health insurance. If the student doesn't have health insurance, the school charges the student $1,000 for the school insurance. Since I am 19 years old, I no longer qualify for CHIPS, which I've had all my life. I am a full time student, I am a U.S. citizen, I am in Texas, my parents are low income, I don't have proof of a job (I'm a nanny and get paid in cash). Online resources are confusing. Does a wet reckless charge always increase insurance rates?
I plead a DUI down to a wet and reckless for a reduced charge. This was over a year ago, and my insurance premium hasn't changed a bit.
