James Potter waking up and looking down in delicate confusion at the pretty redhead in his bed. Confusion at how this smart young man has fallen into love and into bed with him. Him. He can't believe it most day, when he'll look up and see sunlight catching red curls, when blue eyes will turn to him, contemplating James with an oh so serious expression. He can't believe it, when pale freckled skin is under his rough calloused palms, when that sweet, mouth is parted in a rushed mumble of his name.

send me a ship and i'll tell you my brutally honest opinion on it

ooh okay let me think... honestly I was talking about this earlier like put anyone with James and I'll like it and... yeah it reigns true

James is a lover, what can I say? That boy fucking loves with his whole chest. Obviously not every James ship feels the same. We've talked about moonchaser and I only see them as first loves. With James and Peter I see them as only unrequited I don't think they'd ever fully date.

I've always seen them as childhood best friends, they live right next to each other and have since they were around three. They've been friends forever. One day I can see little James grabbing Peter's hand and declaring they were boyfriends (he saw it in a movie and didn't fully understand what it meant but still). I can see this being something brought up a lot by their parents. Every time they had dinner together they'd tell the story of James and Peter inviting them to their wedding in the backyard. Kid stuff. And it didn't mean anything at the time.

Later in their teen years, I can see Peter falling hard for James. In the sense that he's slowing been falling in love with him for years and only now just realized it. It's loud and heavy, and he can't even look at James without feeling it. He never tells him though, he just tries to block every emotion from his face when his family brings up their little wedding when they were kids.

James never had that realization if it was there or if it wasn't. He never looks at Peter the way Peter wants him to. If Peter kissed him he would kiss him back, he's a lover, but I don't think he'd ever feel what Peter feels.

So yes and no. I can't see them like I see moonchaser I don't think they'd ever be exes, and I can't see them as lasting very long if they were to get together. But I do see something with them. And I could be persuaded to think differently.

Alex had sworn this year’s present was different, something James had always wanted but would never admit to himself. That had left him wondering for weeks.

The doorbell rang, sharp and sudden, and James felt his breath hitch. This was it. Taking a deep breath, he strode to the door and opened it.

Standing on his doorstep was Pato O’Ward, and James immediately understood why Alex had laughed at him for weeks whenever Pato had come up.
