Palo Santo and Sage benefits
spirit & meditation
Many times used for emotional and spiritual guidance, palo santo is proven effective natural anti-anxiety remedy. When inhaled, it moves directly through the brain’s olfactory system, where it helps to stimulate the body’s healing response to fight anxiety, sleep disorders, worry and depression. Offers also a balanced space for meditation practices while allowing the body and mind to relax. Its scent helps to deepen the spiritual moments of meditation and contemplation. It relieves nervous tension and helps control problems or illnesses caused by stress, while increasing harmony and well-being

TAURUS RISINGS ♉️
Energy vampires! I hear that loudly for you guys. You need to do some deep cleaning-- to your social life and the people you hang around. I hear you need to hold these people accountable for their actions and stop making excuses for them. Words don't mean anything when their actions don't match with what they say. They can say "I love you" all they want, look at their behavior! Does it match up with love? Do you think someone who loves you would do certain things? Make you feel the way do and make you question yourself and what you stand for? It's time for you to do the hard things--for yourself, for your mental health, for your happiness. How much do you love yourself? Are you worth sacrificing for? If your answer is anything but an absolute and resounding "yes" then you need do some inner work. This pattern of behavior is the reason you are feeling stagnant, your surrounding yourself with too much negative energy whether it's negative thinking or negative people. It's time to do a purge, maybe get some Palo Santo or or some incense. An egg cleanse or a spiritual bath is needed also. It's time to make your decision to evolve into the you you want to be. It's time for you to BECOME. 🙏🏾
Out with old and in with the new, the refreshed and renewed. ASE. You need only allow people in your life that will actually invest in you and collaborate and support your projects and dreams. You need more supportive friends and family around, that's the energy that your need to surround yourself with. Those are the people who bring ease and flow into your life and with ease and flow comes the abundance and creative wealth. You can't tap into this beautiful energy with all those different negative energies surrounding you all the time. You need peace & quiet and time to breathe. Do a breath check as often as you can. Deep breath in. Deep breath out. Do it until you feel a release.
Move in power like the boss you are, confidently show case you creativity and skill. You have an empire to build, you don't have time to spend it with people who will never help you build it.
It's time for you to look into self and go through every aspect of yourself you have an issue with or that you feel contributes to an issue, when you look at each thing decide if this is something you want to keep dealing with or is this something that you need to let go for the better. You have to ask yourself if these situations (situationships) and friendship are benefiting you or draining you. Are you pouring more into these people emotionally or materially? The generousity that you keep splurging on unhelpful people can be put to use to actually help people who need it or be invested into your crafts and ideas.
Your real tribe will come to you when you begin your journey. There's an endless amount of abundance in this new path, you'll be unlocking a great amount of wealth and wealth of success. This is an outcome that is well deserved, you get your rewards from hard work, all the time you invested will be for a future of beautiful abundance
I recommend working with Celestite, rose quartz, obsidian or tourmaline (black if you can). Also smudging (sage,Palo Santo, incense), egg cleanse or a spiritual bath. Work with Florida water for cleansing purposes.

Cleansing: How to do it and Choices and Reasons
Sometimes, energy can get hella stanky. It can become stagnant and what was once drawing in abundance and joy, is now drawing in boredom and lackluster vibes into you space. Today we’re embarking on a journey of sorts to understand cleansing and how to keep your space clean spiritually. So grab your favorite drink, a snack or two, your pet and get comfy!
What is cleansing?
To cleanse is to remove, clean or wash away stagnant, old or negative energy. You can do this with different materials and methods that can help and correspond to your goal of cleansing your space. This should be done if you have: negative energy in the space, stagnant energy, got the evil eye casted upon you, or have a basic low power spirit in the home. You can do this however often you may like whether it’s everyday with something as simple as sweeping or as bi weekly like cleaning your bathroom or monthly with running sage or music through the house. Make your cleansing ritual YOURS, you do not need to follow what another witch does on TikTok with 20+ steps on how to cleanse. You don’t have to go to Five Below and by the corny 5 dollar incense kit; you also don’t have to buy that 90 dollar clear quartz tower. Make it as simple or as extravagant as you want, just don’t destroy your bank account!

Choices on how to Cleanse
Sage
Traditionally used by Native Americans/Indigenous people, Sage has strong cleansing properties and a smell. It’s said that if someone gets a headache from Sage, it means they have bad energy or intentions or both. However, they may have allergies or simply are sensitive to the smell. When using Sage, be sure to not culturally appropriate the practice or buy from an unethical business. Be sure to get it locally or go to your local spiritual wellness shop or if you have a friend that’s got indigenous blood in them. If you’re GIFTED the Sage bundle, it’s okay to use it or give it away as a Native American myself, I do not mind giving Sage to friends or family for me personally I’m saying “protect yourself there’s yucky crap out there.” Now, for alternatives, you can use rosemary, Yerba Santa or even lavender to help cleanse. Be sure to do this with open windows as the smokes not great for your lungs and to free the energy!
Music/Noise/Sound
Whether or not it’s those frequency beats, banging pots or pans, or dancing to Chappell Roan, music, or just noise in general helps move the energy. Be sure to use positive songs or music with good intentions or songs that make you happy to help clear the stagnant energy. So if it means you listen to K pop and dance to it to help vacate the space do it. Like to use heavy metal? Use it. You want to listen to Norse themed music? Fuck it we ball. As long as it works for you, and makes you happy! Be sure to keep the windows open to free the energy
Incense
Similar to the Sage, incense can have the same effect on others when they enter your space and they may get a headache. You may walk around the room or explore the house with incense to clear the space. Be sure to do so with open windows as the smoke isn’t good for your longs all the time and to free the energy.
Crystals
Clear quartz, selenite, black tourmaline are a few great examples of cleansing your space. Whether you walk around with them or place them strategically throughout your home. They can be rather absorbent so be sure to cleanse them, Refresh their intent and research the best way to cleanse your crystals as some cannot be in water.
Salt lamps;Salt
Himalayan salt lamps or just salt can help clear and keep bad vibes out of your space effortlessly. However, just don’t eat it as you’ll be ingestion negative energy. This is one of the best ways to cleanse your space while in the broom closet. It also helps when you’re sick, improve sleep, improve mental health and clean the air. If you use plain piles of salt just be careful as ants and bugs do exist and they may see this as a clear invite to your home.
Palo Santo
I don’t know too much about this, but I think this is fairly similar to Sage, so please get this from an ethical source, and avoid cultural appropriation as much as possible. If I u understand correctly this is a Latinx and or south American cleansing item. It does have a smoke affect so this may trigger allergies and you need to open windows that way your not inhaling too much smoke and freeing the energy. It is said that this can also help with burns and stress as well as keep mosquitoes away.
Declutter
Clean your closet out. Wipe down surfaces. Sweep. Mop. Dust. Vacuum. Wash your bedding. Do laundry. Toss out those shoes with the sole that is being held together by duct tape. To declutter is also getting rid of your stagnant energy and whether you donate things, sell them or throw em’ out, it’s still getting rid of the energy. This is also great for broom closet folks! You can use moon water to clean surface tops or sound too; but be sure to make this ritual your own!
Plants
Plants can be protective and bring in specific intentions as well as being strategically placed. Again, another broom closet idea to keep your practice on the low. It’s said that if your plant is dying and you try to revive but it still dies or if it rapidly dies even though you did everything right, it may have protected you from a curse. Be sure to care for your plants, you can even put crystals in them to give them more power as crystals and plants are earth created things.
Epilogue and Life Update
TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of death/animal death/loss/mental health struggles/completion of suicide/grief
Hey guys,
These past four weeks have kicked my ass. Hard. After I lost a dog to Pyometra, the other dog my family had also just recently passed away from the same infection. My family is at a loss and paranoid beyond belief as they just got a new puppy for the dog that just passed away a few days ago. They plan on cleaning the entire back yard, keeping squirrels out as they’re pests in the area, regulating what goes into the back yard, watching what the puppy eats and drinks, no more water bowls outside etc. you name it they’re planning on or already have done it.
About two days prior to the most recent animal death, a former co-worker of mine passed away. He was, from my understanding and theory, struggling with mental health. He worked at the same place for a little over 40 years, his parents passed away, and he was in and out of relationship. But he was one of the most chillest dudes I met; unfortunately, he suffered in silence. He worked his shift and went home and unfortunately completed suicide. My former workplace got the call the next morning being told this by one of his family members. So, in between this the animal losses I lost a former co worker who was nothing but good to me and had nothing bad to say about me. I’m devastated, I keep busy during the day, but become paranoid and hyper vigilant towards the night as I await the call or text about the puppy passing away. Despite but not being the only one being paranoid, I feel completely leveled to nothing but tears when I’m not busy.
If you or someone is struggling with mental health or suicide, I encourage you to call someone. A friend, family member, teacher or who ever you know has your back. Things do get better but with time; sometimes things get worse before they get better; that’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Here are a couple resources:
- 988: call or text or chat online or ASL
-741741: text BRAVE to 741741
- 1 (800) 273- TALK (8255): call; it’s the nation hotline for suicide.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post, I ended up changing the schedule as Fridays I’m super tired from work just want to relax lol. Please take care of yourselves and I hope to see y’all soon! Please like, comment and reblog!

Book Review: New World Witchery
New World Witchery : a Trove of North American Folk Magic - Cory Thomas Hutcheson. Llewellyn Publications, 2021. English.
★★★★ (4/5) This book has as many flaws as reasons to adore it, and so this may prove to be a very lengthy review. TL;DR: at the bottom.
Picking this up in the bookstore I was very excited. Hailing originally from Europe, now living in Alaska, and practicing primarily European folk magic, this seemed like a fantastic book to bury myself in and learn about folk magic of my new home continent. Delving into it I was immediately captivated. The structure of the book is very very creative, and the way the author writes really takes you away. I appreciate the inclusion of not just theoretical material, which may fall flat to the reader due to a number of factors, but also biographies of magical practitioners and the sections that encourage you to apply what you read in real life. That said, as an experienced practitioner holding the 'worksheets' up to my own work, it felt a tad empty. The author, though very good at relaying folkmagical tradition, doesn't impart a lot of folk magic's cosmology or quasi-scientific historical approach into the recommended rituals. This has benefits and drawbacks. I think that for an experienced practitioner that sticks to folkmagical principles and a set cosmology, the recommended magical practice is next to useless. However, a beginner practitioner, or somebody looking for direction and inspiration, may find a wealth of new ideas in these sections.
Of course there are the necessary socio-political issues to consider in a book review. I would not discount this book on this account, but I have a few notes. The author undeniably covers his bases. He explicitly warns against the drawbacks of such an extensive piece of literature, of it also including hoodoo, vodou, root working, jewish, native, etc practices. He makes a strong statement against appropriation. But I am a nitpicker, was born one, unfortunately. Some things I noticed: The author does recommend using both 'sage' and palo santo during the worksheet sections a few times. While he takes a stance against appropriatively using materials and rituals, I think it could use a bit more stressing that these plants (salvia officinalis and sandalwood) are endangered or close to it and shouldn't be used by people unable to obtain and use sustainably. The author recommends offering tobacco to ancestors, tobacco being a topic of hot debate presently as to whether or not the use of it in ritual should be reserved for Native American peoples. The author refers to his own magic as 'mojo' once and seems to use Hoodoo tradition fairly freely. Take that as you will. The author started the book off very very careful not to call Native Americans the I-word unless directly quoting something, but appeared to get more casual about that toward the end. Author refers to both mythical witch gatherings and real life festivals a 'witch's sabbat(s)', something I consider to be antisemitic. Author recommends taking a volunteering job cleaning graves to collect graveyard dirt without breaking any laws. Dubious? All that said - I can't knock the book for any of this. The information is good, and the book is well written. Ultimately we can never expect to agree on socio-political progression all the way with one another, and the author seems conscious about liberation for all and respectfully applying his knowledge of various traditions.
The bibliography is good, with only a few eyesores. For this section I ought to explicitly mention I have something that could rightly be referred to as a personal vendetta with Western Esotericism and its derivatives, which is why I react to certain types of modern magic as though I were allergic. All of the 'negatives' I'm about to outline are purely subjective and based on my irrelevant ass opinion. The author occasionally references and appears to hold in high regard such authors as Judika Illes and Scott Cunningham, who are undeniably primarily Wiccan authors, or at the least authors geared toward contemporary practitioners, not folk practitoners. The likes that spell it 'magick'. I should also mention that while the author takes a very neutral stance on Traditional Witchcraft (this in reference to Wicca and the like), he does include such things as the Rede and the Wheel of the Year, which he dubs "deeply agricultural." I just had to bite my tongue and keep reading.
Finally I would like to note that the book, though it refers to itself as about all of North America, pretty much only covers the Atlantic half of North America. In fact, I believe the West Coast only gets mentioned in passing twice, both times when offhandedly mentioning Bigfoot/Sasquatch. This makes sense, on the one hand: the richest folk-magical traditions are there. But on the other: the West Coast, though lacking in such big communities of traditional practitioners, has a rich history of spirituality and magic as well, mostly from the Native peoples here and, in Alaska, from Russian colonists. If the book didn't also discuss Native traditions of the East Coast and Midwest, I wouldn't be salty. But it does, and I would've liked to see a bit more discussion of the West and the Arctic. It would've fit in!
All of that said, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It certainly isn't the type of work you're supposed to read front to back over the course of a few days, but that is exactly what I did and I still liked it! I think the information presented is overall very good, and should be held up to light only as much as any other source should be. Cross-reference, kids! Something I noticed as I worked my way through is that this book would lend itself exceedingly well to being used as a textbook, due to its structure. I wouldn't recommend this book to an ultimate, bare-bones beginner who has no idea how to research and what to look out for yet, and I wouldn't recommend this book to an already very experienced practitioner looking to truly severely deepen their knowledge. But I would recommend this book to a team of them - an advanced mentor able to use this book as a textbook for a student, capable of helping them discern between appropriate and inappropriate conduct, and giving them direction in their early stages. TL;DR: This is a great book. Cross-reference as you would with any other resource, and be sure to contemplate your own ethics and what heritage you are and are not entitled to. I would recommend this book to: - Mentors teaching beginners; - Novice practitioners with some pre-existing knowledge, that are confident in their abilities to cross-reference; - Practitioners in need of some direction or inspiration; - Practitioners that have a hard time finding magic in their native surroundings. Maybe pass on this book if you are... ... from the West Coast and only interested in the West Coast; ... not confident in your ability to cross-reference; ... a true beginner with little to no pre-existing knowledge and cosmology; ... a well-established North American folk practitioner looking for a deep inquiry into the nitty gritty of New World folk magic; ... unaware of appropriate conduct and social issues in the magical community.

Smudging with herbs
Different herbs can be used to cleanse your energy. White sage, black sage, cedar, Palo Santo, blue sage, desert sage, lavender, bay leaves, rosemary, or yerba Santa are some of the herbs used for smudging/ herb burning rituals. Many herbs for burning come from many different cultures, all with different uses and benefits. If you suspect your energy is getting contaminated with negative energy, smudging goes a long way in restoring it and bringing on a fresh start while also reaping the harvest of the other benefits burning herbs may offer.

Kouki Palo Santo?????? I never heard of it before...let's see....
Palo Santo, which means "holy wood" in Spanish, is a tree native to South America, primarily found in the tropical forests of countries like Peru, Ecuador, and parts of Central America. Its scientific name is Bursera graveolens. Palo Santo is renowned for its fragrant wood, which has been used for centuries in indigenous and spiritual practices for its aromatic properties and believed healing properties.
The wood is traditionally burned as incense during ceremonies and rituals for its pleasant, uplifting scent. It's also used for its reported medicinal properties, with claims of benefits ranging from calming the mind and reducing stress to repelling insects and aiding respiratory issues.
Due to its popularity and increased demand, there have been concerns about the sustainability of Palo Santo harvesting. It's important to source Palo Santo from sustainable and ethical suppliers to ensure the conservation of this valuable resource and support the communities that depend on it.
In recent years, there has been growing interest in Palo Santo outside of traditional spiritual practices, with its essential oil being used in aromatherapy and its wood incorporated into various products like candles, soaps, and skincare items. However, it's crucial for consumers to be mindful of the source and sustainability of the Palo Santo used in such products.
#Palo Santo#So not only in Asian. South America and Peru too. Hmm....Why Asian share something very similar to West Asia?#How is it connected to meditation? I saw that some tribes used minerals and used like this. Example red indian#history#culture

The Art of Sacred Spaces: Designing Your Personal Sanctuary
We all have those places where we feel at peace, like everything falls into alignment, even if just for a moment. What if you could create that kind of energy right in your home?
That’s what a sacred space is all about—setting up a little corner of your world where you can reconnect, recharge, and tap into your inner wisdom.
A sacred space isn’t necessarily a whole room (though it can be!). It could be a cozy nook in your living room, a corner of your bedroom, or even a windowsill where the sunlight hits just right.
It’s a spot that’s just for you, a place where you can step away from the chaos of everyday life and focus on grounding yourself.
What Makes a Space Sacred?
The beauty of creating your own sacred space is that you decide what goes in it. Maybe you want to bring in things that represent the elements: a small bowl of water, a candle, some crystals, a plant. Or perhaps your sacred space includes items that carry personal meaning—photos, journals, tarot cards, or a favorite book.
The goal is to make it a reflection of your soul, a place that feels nurturing and aligned with your energy.
Sacred space isn’t just about what you can see. The energy of the space matters, too. Before you start using your area, take a moment to clear out any stagnant or negative energy.
This can be done through smudging with sage or palo santo, ringing a bell, or even just sitting quietly and setting an intention for the space.
How to Use Your Sacred Space
Once you’ve created your sacred space, let it become part of your daily routine. Whether you use it for meditation, journaling, pulling tarot cards, or just sitting quietly with your morning coffee, allow this space to be your go-to for personal reflection and spiritual alignment.
The key is consistency. Regularly spending time in your sacred space helps you stay connected to your intentions, goals, and inner peace. It’s not just about escaping the world—it’s about tuning in to your true self.
The Benefits of a Sacred Space
When life feels overwhelming, having a sacred space to retreat to can make all the difference. It’s a reminder that you’re in control of your energy, and that taking care of your spiritual well-being is just as important as anything else on your to-do list.
Plus, your sacred space can evolve with you. As your intentions and needs shift, so can your space. You might find yourself adding new elements, rearranging the layout, or even creating a fresh vibe based on the season or your current energy.
Ultimately, a sacred space is about creating an environment that supports your growth and healing. It's a physical manifestation of your commitment to self-care, mindfulness, and spirituality.
So, where will your sacred space be? Whether it’s big or small, simple or elaborate, the magic is in how it makes you feel.
May the sacred energies that surround us all guide and protect you always, Diana

A Beginner's Guide to Owning Crystals
Crystals have captivated humanity for centuries, not only for their beauty but also for their purported healing properties and metaphysical benefits. If you're new to the world of crystals, you might be wondering where to start and how to incorporate them into your life. This guide will help you navigate the basics of crystal ownership and care.
1. Understanding Crystals
Crystals are solid substances with a defined structure that can form naturally through geological processes. Each type of crystal is believed to have unique properties and energies. For instance, amethyst is often associated with tranquility and protection, while rose quartz is linked to love and compassion.
2. Choosing Your First Crystals
When selecting your first crystals, consider what you hope to achieve. Here are a few popular beginner-friendly options:
- **Clear Quartz**: Known as the "master healer," clear quartz is versatile and can amplify energy and intention.
- **Amethyst**: This purple crystal is great for beginners, promoting calmness and spiritual growth.
- **Rose Quartz**: Ideal for those seeking emotional healing and love, this gentle stone can help open your heart.
- **Citrine**: A stone of abundance and positivity, citrine is perfect for those looking to attract prosperity and joy.
Visiting a local crystal shop or a metaphysical store can also be a delightful experience, as you can see and feel the stones before purchasing. Trust your intuition—sometimes, the crystal that draws you in the most is the one you need.
3. Cleansing and Charging Your Crystals
Crystals can absorb energies from their surroundings, so it's essential to cleanse them regularly. Here are a few effective methods:
- **Water**: Rinse your crystals under cool running water, but avoid this method for stones that are porous or water-soluble.
- **Salt**: Soak your crystals in a bowl of saltwater overnight, but again, be cautious with delicate stones.
- **Smoke**: Pass your crystals through the smoke of sage, palo santo, or incense to cleanse their energy.
- **Sun/Moonlight**: Place your crystals outside during the day or night to recharge them with natural energy.
4. How to Use Crystals
Once you've selected and cleansed your crystals, you can start using them in various ways:
- **Meditation**: Hold a crystal in your hand or place it on your body while meditating. Focus on its energy and how it makes you feel.
- **Jewelry**: Wearing crystals as jewelry allows you to carry their energy with you throughout the day.
- **Home Decor**: Displaying crystals in your living space can enhance the energy of your environment. Use them in areas where you want to promote specific energies, such as a calming space in your bedroom or a creative area in your office.
- **Crystal Grids**: Creating a crystal grid involves placing several crystals in a geometric pattern to amplify their energies towards a specific intention.
5. Keeping a Crystal Journal
As you start your crystal journey, consider keeping a journal to track your experiences and feelings associated with each crystal. Note any changes in your mood, energy levels, or intuitive insights. This practice can deepen your connection with the stones and help you understand which ones resonate with you the most.
6. Final Thoughts
Owning crystals can be a fulfilling and enriching experience. Whether you're drawn to their beauty, interested in their metaphysical properties, or simply looking to enhance your well-being, there's a crystal for everyone. Remember that your journey with crystals is personal, and there are no right or wrong ways to work with them. Trust your intuition, explore, and enjoy the process!

Excerpt from my Journal: September 4th, 2024
I feel the need to gather and organize my collected material from over the past ten years. Research was my first dedicated art form.
I already organized my closet, limiting space to only my dearest, rarest finds of my collection. Now a firm foundation to build on top of an already closed cycle. For remembrance.
To reimagine and redefine my gadgets and my relationship to them, to reclaim these devices as an extension of my mind and creativity. To be completely consciously in control of Ai and media consumption; using it to the benefit of my mission and purpose.
Somewhere along this journey my tools got misused, like many of us do, life gets messy, and they feel as those they need a deep palo Santo, Florida water cleanse.
I cant allow myself to become complacent and forget that we are the creators, not the algorithms designed for mass consumption, distraction and ultimately; mass control. It's revolutionary and rebellious to stay an independent and pure creator; aka - human.
Let me go organize, cleanse then come back and share intentionally.
