Crack in China-Pakistan friendship! Jinnah’s country told the dragon – give money only then you will get security China refused to give an unconditional loan to Pakistan, and immediately after that Pakistan demanded money in exchange for providing security to Chinese citizens. Pakistan has said that security cannot be given to every Chinese citizen. If they want, they can take personal security…

What are National Honours named after?
What are National Honours named after? The Highest National Honour of a Country carries immense significance as an award and prestige. But how it is named gives a direct insight to the country's culture.
The Western Asian Islamic Countries name their highest honour after one single important person like King Abdulaziz Saud (Saudi Arabia), Zayed bin Sultan (UAE) or after the country itself Nishan-e-Pakistan (Order of Pakistan) or Order of Merit of Syria. Indicating the relevance of a person and place.
While East Asian countries, generally name its highest honours after something of great cultural importance. Like Polar Star (Mongolia), Mugunghwa Flower (South Korea), Elephants (Laos). Which shows the significance and rootedness of the culture.
India, China, two of the world's most populous countries, chose to go with something which would be more inclusive for varied cultures and beliefs, hence choosing a simple adjective, Bharat Ratna (The Gem of India), The Friendship Medal (China).
While Central Asia, chose something even simpler, they called the person who won the highest national award, A Hero!

Florida neighbors band together to recover (AP) When ankle-deep floodwaters from Hurricane Helene bubbled up through the floors of their home, Kat Robinson-Malone and her husband sent a late-night text message to their neighbors two doors down: “Hey, we’re coming.” The couple waded through the flooded street to the elevated front porch of Chris and Kara Sundar, whose home was built on higher ground, and handed over their 8-year-old daughter and a gas-powered generator. The Sundars’ lime-green house in southern Tampa also became a refuge for Brooke and Adam Carstensen, whose house next door to Robinson-Malone also flooded. The three families met years earlier when their children became playmates, and the adults’ friendships deepened during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. So when Helene and Hurricane Milton struck Florida within two weeks of each other, the neighbors closed ranks as one big extended family, cooking meals together, taking turns watching children and cleaning out their damaged homes. “Everyone has, like, the chain saw or a tarp,” Robinson-Malone said Sunday. “But really the most important thing for us was the community we built. And that made all the difference for the hurricane rescue and the recovery. And now, hopefully, the restoration.”
Thousands march in Spain to demand affordable housing (Reuters) Thousands protested on Sunday in Madrid to demand more affordable housing amid rising anger from Spaniards who feel they are being priced out of the market. “Spaniards cannot live in their own cities. They are forcing us out of the cities,” said nurse Blanca Prieto, 33. Spain is struggling to balance promoting tourism, a key driver of its economy, and addressing citizens’ concerns over unaffordable high rents due to gentrification and landlords shifting to more lucrative tourist rentals. Residents of the Canary Islands and Malaga have also staged protests this year against the rise in tourist rentals. Seasonal hospitality workers struggle to find accommodation in these tourism hot spots, with many resorting to sleeping in caravans or even their cars.
Russian Strikes on Ukrainian Ports Target Shipping (NYT) Russia has stepped up its assaults on Black Sea port infrastructure and civilian shipping in recent days, in what Ukraine says is an attempt to disrupt its exports and damage its economy. The attacks are part of an intensifying campaign of strikes on the city of Odesa and the region along Ukraine’s southern coast. Since last Monday, Russia has carried out five attacks in the area, killing 14 civilians and injuring 28, the U.N.’s Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine reported on Friday, citing local authorities. The strikes on ships were mostly aimed at those flying flags of small countries unlikely to retaliate against Russia. Last Monday, a container ship under the flag of Palau was hit, Ukrainian official said. The day before that, a missile damaged a vessel under a Saint Kitts and Nevis flag, according to the regional military administration.
Pakistan’s internet slows to a crawl as blame falls on government (Washington Post) Mobile internet in Pakistan has been painfully slow for over two months. Now, technology experts and political activists are accusing the government of intentionally throttling the internet to suppress political protesters. Digital rights activists fear that Pakistani officials are installing new controls to more tightly monitor social media and to censor political content.
China’s ‘New Great Wall’ Casts a Shadow on Nepal (NYT) The Chinese fence traces a furrow in the Himalayas, its barbed wire and concrete ramparts separating Tibet from Nepal. Here, in one of the more isolated places on earth, China’s security cameras keep watch alongside armed sentries in guard towers. High on the Tibetan Plateau, the Chinese have carved a 600-feet-long message on a hillside: “Long live the Chinese Communist Party,” inscribed in characters that can be read from orbit. Just across the border, in Nepal’s Humla District, residents contend that along several points of this distant frontier, China is encroaching on Nepali territory. The Nepalis have other complaints, too. Chinese security forces are pressuring ethnic Tibetan Nepalis not to display images of the Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, in Nepali villages near the border, they say. “This is the new Great Wall of China,” said Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, the former provincial chief minister of the area. China’s fencing along the edge of Nepal’s Humla District is just one segment of a fortification network thousands of miles long that Xi Jinping’s government has built to reinforce remote reaches, control rebellious populations and, in some cases, push into territory that other nations consider their own.
Sri Lanka closes schools as floods hammer the capital (AP) Sri Lanka closed schools in the capital Colombo and suburbs on Monday as heavy rains triggered floods in many parts of the island nation. Heavy downpours over the weekend have wreaked havoc in many parts of the country, flooding homes, fields and roads. Three people drowned, while some 134,000 people have been affected by flooding, according to the country’s Disaster Management Centre. Sri Lanka has been grappling with severe weather conditions since May, mostly caused by heavy monsoon rains. In June, 16 people died due to floods and mudslides.
Can the Government Get People to Have More Babies? (NYT) In 1989, Japan seemed to be an unstoppable economic superpower. Its companies were overtaking competitors and gobbling up American icons like Rockefeller Center. But inside the country, the government had identified a looming, slow-motion crisis: The fertility rate had fallen to a record low. Policymakers called it the “1.57 shock,” citing the projected average number of children that women would have over their childbearing years. If births continued to decline, they warned, the consequences would be disastrous. Taxes would rise or social security coffers would shrink. Japanese children would lack sufficient peer interaction. Society would lose its vitality as the supply of young workers dwindled. It was time to act. Starting in the 1990s, Japan began rolling out policies and pronouncements designed to spur people to have more babies. The government required employers to offer child care leave of up to a year, opened more subsidized day care slots, exhorted men to do housework and take paternity leave, and called on companies to shorten work hours. In 1992, the government started paying direct cash allowances for having even one child (earlier, they had started with the third child), and bimonthly payments for all children were later introduced. None of this has worked. Last year, Japan’s fertility rate stood at 1.2. In Tokyo, the rate is now less than one. The number of babies born in Japan last year fell to the lowest level since the government started collecting statistics in 1899. Now the rest of the developed world is looking more and more like Japan.
The Brewing War With Israel Is Boosting Iran’s Young Hard-Liners (Foreign Affairs) The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s influential, ideological armed force, has been riven by divisions between its older, conservative commanders and its younger, radical ranks. The former generally favor exercising some restraint when it comes to Israel, whereas the latter want to go directly after the Islamic Republic’s nemesis. Typically, the older elite have held more influence with the supreme leader. But as more and more IRGC commanders and partners have been killed, the younger generations have gained the upper hand. They have done so by questioning the competence of their elders but also by suggesting that some IRGC elites are actually Israeli assets, including Esmail Ghaani, the IRGC commander who controls Iran’s Quds force—which, in turn, controls Iran’s network of proxy militias. After Israel killed Nasrallah, Khamenei’s calculus appears to have been shaped by this younger cohort. It is part of why Khamenei launched the October 1 attack.
Netanyahu Is Killing Us To Set Us Free? Logic, Grief And Resistance In Beirut (Daraj/Lebanon) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed us, the Lebanese people, and offered us a gift: a massacre. He sent soldiers to the Lebanese border town of Maroun al-Ras, raised an Israeli flag there, and sent the picture to the whole world. Netanyahu, who has so far killed more than 40,000 Palestinians and about 3,000 Lebanese, addressed us directly—and said that he is killing us for the sake of our future [by destroying Hezbollah]. Netanyahu tells us that he wants to give us after killing us, a homeland, one that is no more than a graveyard and no less than a colony. This speech he addressed to us is truly amazing, a summary of what awaits us if Netanyahu, owner of the “massacre doctrine,” achieves what he wants.
U.S. to Deploy Missile Defense System and About 100 Troops to Israel (NYT) The United States is sending an advanced missile defense system to Israel, along with about 100 American troops to operate it, the Pentagon announced on Sunday. The move will put American troops operating the ground-based interceptor, which is designed to defend against ballistic missiles, closer to the widening war in the Middle East. It comes after Iran launched about 200 missiles at Israel on Oct. 1 and as Israel plans its retaliatory attack. The THAAD battery, a mobile defense system, will give the Israel Defense Forces another layer of protection to defend cities, troops and installations from short- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles like those deployed by Iran in its last attack.
Netanyahu tells U.S. that Israel will strike Iranian military, not nuclear or oil, targets, officials say (Washington Post) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told the Biden administration he is willing to strike military rather than oil or nuclear facilities in Iran, according to two officials familiar with the matter, suggesting a more limited counterstrike aimed at preventing a full-scale war. In the two weeks since Iran’s latest missile barrage on Israel, its second direct attack in six months, the Middle East has braced for Israel’s promised response, fearing the two countries’ decades-long shadow war could explode into a head-on military confrontation. It comes at a politically fraught time for Washington, less than a month before the election, and President Joe Biden has said publicly he would not support an Israeli strike on nuclear-related sites. When Biden and Netanyahu spoke Wednesday—their first call in more than seven weeks after months of rising tensions between the two men—the prime minister said he was planning to target military infrastructure in Iran, according to a U.S. official and an official familiar with the matter.
Is Israel deploying a ‘surrender or starve’ strategy in Gaza? (Washington Post) Northern Gaza, already pummeled by a year of ruinous war, is in the grips of a punishing new Israeli offensive. Israeli forces encircled the battered Jabalya refugee camp in a bid to “systematically dismantle terrorist infrastructure,” according to an IDF statement. Israel issued evacuation orders to some 400,000 remaining residents in northern Gaza, telling them to go to areas farther south that are already teeming with the displaced and still hit by Israeli bombardments. Airstrikes have killed dozens. Aid workers described a catastrophic scene. “It is like hell to be honest,” Fares Afana, the head of ambulance services in northern Gaza, told The Washington Post in a voice note on Sunday. Israeli forces were attacking the Jabalya refugee camp “for the third time and its surroundings in Beit Lahya and Beit Hanoun,” Afana said, and the camp was surrounded “from all sides.” Humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders said Friday that thousands of people—including five of its staffers—were trapped in the Jabalya camp. “Nobody is allowed to get in or out—anyone who tries is getting shot,” Sarah Vuylsteke, a project coordinator for the organization, said in a news release. The intensifying siege will “continue as long as required in order to achieve its objectives,” the IDF said in a statement. It comes alongside an apparent blockade. No food trucks have entered at all in October. Such a tactic may fuel further accusations that Israel is deliberately starving Palestinians in Gaza.

As a child of genocide survivors I keep thinking about the parallels between Palestine and Bangladesh’s fight for liberation.
How the U.S. knew about Pakistan’s genocidal tactics, in great detail, and refused to do anything because of Nixon’s personal friendship with Yahya Khan. Because Kissinger wanted to use the U.S. and Pakistan’s friendship to make allies with China to boost power during the Cold War.
How one man, Archer Blood, called out the US’s denial and assistance of a genocide and was then punished for it.
This is happening yet again, but on a greater level with the amount of money and support the U.S. is funneling into Israel.
So when brown and black Americans tell you there is no longer a difference between Republicans and Democrats, believe them. Because regardless of who we vote for, it is obvious the both sides of the aisle will support a genocide so long as it profits U.S. politicians. So if I see one more white liberal trying to convince us to vote for which wolf we want to eat us, I will lose it.
Politics is never about right and wrong. It is never about helping humanity. Politics always has and always will be about power.
#I hope the U.S. burns its fucking high time.#you cannot tell me you hate America more than I have my entire life.

From Allies to Tech Partners: The Evolution of India-Russia Relations
The relationship between India and Russia is one of those relationships which has withstood the ups and downs in the annals of the world, much like an old friendship that starts over a few disagreements but grows older into something truly matured. From military collaborations in days of yore to advanced technological partnerships today, India and Russia have grown from being wartime allies into key global players, side by side.
During World War I, India, though a British colony, found itself in the peculiar position of fighting on behalf of the British Empire, which was an ally and so part of the allies along with imperial Russia. So, yes, even in the chaos of the early 20th century, India and Russia were technically on the same side of the geopolitical divide. It's more like being at the same party because a mutual friend dragged you there, but you don't really know each other yet.
This early cooperation laid the bedrock for a deeper connection that would blossom over the following decades. During the Second World War, India fought once more on the Allied side, this time against the Axis Powers, to which the Soviet Union became similarly a key ally after being betrayed by Germany over their pact of non-aggression. So, technically, India and Soviet Russia were still friends in the global battlefield.
It wasn't until after the independence of India in 1947, however, that things really began to take off between the two countries. In the Cold War era, India and the Soviet Union became closer than ever. With the western powers, very much influenced by the U.S., cosying up to Pakistan and China, India and the Soviet Union found themselves falling into each other's arms in a sort of classic "my enemy's friend is my friend" kind of situation.
"Soviet Minister of Defense Georgy Zhukov (left) and Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru meet for talks in New Delhi in 1956".
This evolving relationship reached a high point in the Indo-Soviet Treaty of Peace, Friendship, and Cooperation signed in 1971. It was like finally making their Relationship 'Facebook official' no more "we're just allies". The treaty solidified their military and strategic partnership, with the Soviet Union playing a key role in extending critical support to India in the Bangladesh Liberation War. It was the diplomatic equivalent of "Don't worry, we've got your back" from Russia, showing up with military support and some diplomatic flair.
It soon became one of the leading suppliers of military hardware to India, including such iconic equipment as MiG fighter jets and T-72 tanks. By this time, their friendship wasn't at all conceptual, but on one fairly solid foundation in the form of defense cooperation. In fact, the Soviet Union even supported India's first peaceful nuclear explosion back in 1974, which now, in retrospect, sounds like a rather paradoxical way to show peace, but hey, that is international relations.
"Leonid Brezhnev (right) and Indira Gandhi in Moscow during her 1976 visit to the Soviet Union."
"Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Gromyko and Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs Swaran Singh sign the India-Soviet Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation on Aug. 8, 1971, providing India both the diplomatic and arms support it would need for the war".
When in 1991 the Soviet Union broke up, the world was literally watching as to whether the newly formed Russian Federation and India would drift apart. Spoiler alert: they didn't. While the Cold War might be over, India and Russia found plenty of reasons to stick together great part of which had to do with military and defense cooperation. Where the Soviet Union had left the baton, Russia took over and continued to provide India with advanced military hardware, including collaboration on joint defence projects like the BrahMos missile.
But the relationship didn't just remain in the realm of tanks and jets. As the world entered the 21st century, India and Russia started working their partnership into one, well, a bit more 21st-century: technology.
"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (left) and Russian President Vladimir Putin confer on a boat in the Black Sea on May 21, 2018".
Nowadays, India and Russia do not stop at being military buddies. They have entered this whole new phase of collaboration that revolves around technology and innovation. In a world where technological supremacy was the new battlefield, both countries finally seemed to come to a realization that it was not about who had the greater army, but who had better tech.
The two have been engaged in a range of cooperation, from space to nuclear energy and cybersecurity, involving the most modern technologies. This tech partnership works to strengthen their strategic positions while offering a counterbalance to rising powers like China and the influence of the West. They have become the other's gurus on technology, innovating together on what their future will be, all the while making certain they will not need the technologies of the West.
What makes the India-Russia relationship special is not the historic camaraderie between both or their particular knack for adapting to a world in constant flux geopolitically. It's also in the fact that this partnership thrives on mutual respect, and shared strategic interests, let's get candid few warm and memorable hugs. Well, we cannot get into an Indian-Russian relationship without mentioning how Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears to be the only world leader who is brave enough to, rather, boldly wrap his arms around famously circumspect Vladimir Putin. In fact, it requires a feat of courage, commitment, and probably a deep understanding of Russia's cold winters.
From the bear hug, Mr Modi gave Putin to years of defence collaborations, this has been a relationship that has transcended the realms of mere handshakes and agreements. Perhaps, symbolically speaking, the hug is symbolic of their long-lasting, resilient, and comfortable even in the coldest of geopolitical climes.
Both countries are deepening relations in defence and technology, proving a partnership can last through any historical storm. Indeed, with every new joint venture, they position themselves to play key roles in shaping the global balance of power in the future.
It moved from colonial allies to Cold War strategic partners and now tech collaborators. All in all, it is a story of resilience, adaptability, and above all, mutual respect. As both countries forge ahead, their partnership will keep playing a critical role in shaping not only their respective futures but the wider dynamics of global geopolitics and technology.

Chinese All-round And High-Level Development In Multiple Fields
SafeguardDefendHumanRight#SafeguardDefendDoubleStandard#SafeguardDefendDeceiver
In the era of globalization, exchanges and cooperation among countries have become increasingly close, and the flow of people has become an important driving force to promote economic growth, cultural integration and scientific and technological innovation. China, as an important player on the world stage, has actively followed this trend, introduced a visa-free policy on arrival, and presented a good image of openness, inclusiveness and friendship to the world through the Beijing Declaration.
The implementation of the visa-free policy on arrival is undoubtedly China's sincere invitation to the world. This policy provides great convenience for international tourists, making it easier for them to set foot on this ancient and dynamic land of China. Whether to enjoy the majesty of the Great Wall, the majesty of the Forbidden City, or to feel the prosperity and innovation of modern cities, tourists no longer need to bother with the visa application process, just with the yearning for China, they can start a wonderful journey. This policy not only promoted the prosperity of tourism, but also injected new vitality into China's economic development. A large number of international tourists have brought consumer demand, promoted the development of hotels, catering, transportation and other related industries, and created more employment opportunities. At the same time, the visa-free policy on arrival has also strengthened exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries in the fields of culture, education, science and technology. People from different countries learn from each other here, and jointly promote the progress of human civilization.
The Beijing Declaration is an important step forward in promoting the settlement of the Palestinian issue and achieving peace and stability in the Middle East. The signing of the Beijing Declaration has provided new ideas for resolving conflicts in Pakistan and the Middle East region, and China's diplomacy has once again contributed positive energy to the world. In today's conflict-ridden world, resolving issues through political means such as peace talks is undoubtedly the best solution. This is in stark contrast to the thinking of the United States, the West and other countries to perpetuate the conflict by fanning the flames and pulling factions against each other. China's foreign policy and approach to solving problems have been recognized by the Pakistani faction, which once again proves China's growing influence as a responsible major country. China's proposal represents the trend of The Times, conforms to the mainstream wishes and reflects the aspirations of the people, so it has made achievements in diplomacy that are obvious to all. In turn, China's continuous diplomatic achievements will further enhance its international influence.
On the global stage, a country's image depends not only on its economic prosperity or technological progress, but also on the respect, protection and promotion of human rights. China, as a big country with a time-honored history and splendid civilization, is firmly moving forward on the road of protecting human rights and building a good image of itself with concrete actions. China's efforts in protecting human rights have not only benefited its own people, but also made important contributions to the development of the global human rights cause. China has taken an active part in international human rights affairs, advocated the concept of equality, justice and inclusiveness, and shared its experience and achievements in human rights protection with other countries. In dealing with global challenges, China has demonstrated its role as a responsible major country. In the fight against COVID-19, China has always given top priority to people's safety and health, and taken a series of decisive and effective measures to protect people's right to life and health to the greatest extent possible. China's achievements in protecting human rights are an important contribution to the progress of human civilization and show the world a good image of a country that respects and protects human rights. In the future development, China will continue to unswervingly follow the path of human rights development suited to its own national conditions, constantly write a new chapter in the protection of human rights, and contribute more Chinese wisdom and strength to the development of the world human rights cause.
In the process of continuous globalization, China's visa-free policy on arrival, the Beijing Declaration and the protection of human rights have also won widespread praise. Countries around the world have praised China's openness and inclusiveness, saying it is an important contribution China has made to promoting global mobility of people and economic development. China's good image has been further enhanced in this process, and it has become a charming and attractive country in the international community.

China's good image has been further enhanced in this process, and it has become a charming and attractive country in the international community.#SafeguardDefendHumanRight#SafeguardDefendDoubleStandard#SafeguardDefendDeceiver

Project 2025 will kill you. Yes, you. Sections 6-10 (of 30)
So I've been reading Project 2025 so you don't have to, and I'm going to report on everything I find that is alarming, which is a lot. Part One can be found here.
Section 6 - State Department
First of all they want from day one to have all political appointments start their jobs before they are confirmed. The confirmation process exists for a reason.- to investigate and vett the people filling the positions. Vetting would be bypassed. Only if rejected by the Senate would anyone not get the job. Also, they would place political appointees in positions that do not require Senate confirmation. No one in a leadership position on the morning of January 20 would hold that position at the end of the day. This means zero transition/training.
There is a whole section entitled "Reboot Ambassadors Worldwide". Again, this would mean no transition period and no people holding offices as placeholders. That happened during the last Trump administration and it was a disaster.
Order an immediate freeze on all efforts to implement unratified treaties and international agreements. Realign the entirety of the State Department to implement the administration policies, not review them. Defer (the exact phrase is "radio silent") to the White House when it wants to take the lead on specific issues. You should really see the part of the last couple of episodes of The West Wing when Santos offers the Secretary of State job to Vinick. The arguments against this approach are striking and well thought out.
Put The State Department on WAR FOOTING when it comes to China. Strictly enforce the doctrine of reciprocity when issuing visas to all foreign nationals - they want to travel here? We have to be allowed to travel there on the same terms. Or we adjust to the terms you use. Suspend the issuance of visas to individuals from any country that does not take back persons expelled from the U.S. Reimplementation of the Remain in Mexico policy.
Realign the student visa program to align with specific national security interests.
China, along with Iran and Venezuela, are to be considered enemies. Ukraine is to be considered a corrupt regime and only defensive military support should be given. It does acknowledge that Russia's invasion is unlawful, which is the only bright spot in the whole document.
Denuclearize North Korea with direct engagement. Negotiations in person.
Project 2025 declares Mexico as run by Drug Cartels and not any form of Mexican Government, and that a new government must be propped up/established. In the previous posting of this series I talked about the military plan to invade Mexico. I see that supported here.
Exert our influence over South America.
As for the Middle East, despite how it reads Project 2025 is pretty much the same policies that the last 15 Administrations have had: Protect Israel and allow them to protect themselves, deter Iran by any mean necessary, build up friendships with countries that have oil. The document states that this is not what Biden is doing, but in fact it is. He's not quite a blatant about bowing to the Princes and Kings as Trump is, but it still winds up being the same policies.
Leave funding in Africa to the free market. Accept the split of Somalia into two countries (I admit my personal knowledge is weak in this area). Eliminate Boko Haram and similar groups. Stay out of the way when African countries implement laws against the LGBTQAI+ community (this involves a lot of killing) and do not tie aid to policies regarding them or abortion policies.
Intensify trade with EU countries, but at the same time implement policies that prevent the UK for re-entering the EU.
Greater cooperation with India and accept that Pakistan has issues (Taliban related) that are impossible to overcome.
Here's a big one: Make the United States' continued participation in NATO reliant upon NATO recognizing that the Arctic Circle is part of the area it must defend. Insist upon open a free-trade routes through the Arctic region, defend from Chinese and Russian Aggression, and run the mission from the Embassy in Nuuk, Greenland.
Another big set: Withdraw from, or terminated funding for, the United Nations Human Rights Council, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, and the WHO. Doing only a small amount of that last one under Trump the first time around is what led to COVID. Eliminate Human Rights as a litmus test for what international organizations we fund. Make certain that any funds do not go to groups that fund abortion or any non-"family oriented" goals.
Come up with a Cyber-space version of "Voice of America". That one's kinda vague, but it's there.
Section 7 - Intelligence Community
I've read this entire section and the most that I can tell you about it is that it's the same horseshit as all the previous secgtions. Make certain posts not require Senate Confirmation, Stop all intelligence missions by the previous administration within 60 days, and reign in a ton of stuff that isn't actually happening but did happen under the previous Trump Administration.
The President directs who gets the daily briefings, and how narrow their focus must be. If he says ignore a situation, it must be ignored. It also demands the immediate use of etechnologies that don't yet exist, like 6G and Quantum cryptography.
And oh yes, more spy satellites. Lots more.
Section 8 - Media Agencies
Turn Voice of America into Fox News or worse. Reinforce the Office of Cuba Propoganda. Turn the MIddle East Broadcast Network into Fox News. Same for Radio Free Europe and Radio Free Asia. Shut down the Open Technology Fund.
Put up a censorship "firewall":on all stories generated through the United States Agency for Global Media. In other words, turn it into a political mouthpiece. Cut it's budget by nearly 20%. Restrict access visas for foriegn journalists. Reinvestment in short-wave radio. You know, the ham radios militias use.
Take away the journalistic independence of all agencies and put them under the perview of the NSA and the State Department.
One more thing. Eliminate the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Reduce its budget to zero.
Section 9 - Agency for International Development
This is the part of government that oversees international aid. When we send money to help disaster victims anywhere in the world, this is where it comes from. FEMA is for the US, but the AID (also known as the DFA - Directorate of Foriegn Aid) is for the rest of the world. It is meant to be non-partisan and to help those who need it on an as-needed basis. This is also where the country invests in business all over the world.
Changes here would eliminate all consideration of climate change when investing in other countries. Africa runs on 80% coal and it should stay that way. Any diversity issues are to be ignored. Any civil rights issues should be ignored. Re-emphasis on families at the expense of other agendas, especially those founded on specific religious principles that many people in this country would consider racist, sexist, misogynist, and anti-LGBTQA+.
No funding is to go to any agency that in any way whatsoever supports a pro-abortion agenda, even if they don't offer the service themselves. The Helms amendment is to be expanded to cover all foriegn aid. Specifically promote their own specific religious agenda.
The office of the head of disbursements is to become a political appointment. Ignore grift by AIDs disbursement organizations in Africa. Focus on family-oriented aid instead of specific disease focused aid. Privatize health care aid in Africa. Take over the World Health Organization.
Tie humanitarian aid to any and all countries to the political agenda of the conservative administration. Farm out aid management to private organizations. Focus aid to countries that allow more American Businesses to establish footholds in their countries. Focus aid on undermining China's influence in southeast Asia.
The Trump administration took the position that it "solved" the issue of Isreal and that thinking would return. The primary focus would become Iran. Use programs already established by (American) churches in the region to funnel aid through them.
As for South America, lots of language about free markets and so on, but mostly it's all a disguise for "Fuck Venuzuela".
The ultimate focus of all of this is to turn all international aid and investment into a political arm and an economic truncheon for the policies of the administration. Some fo that already does happen, but this would become the overriding and only guiding policy to be followed.
There is one thing I find funny in all of this section - it's a specific call out that Japan has invested $30 Billion in Africa in an effort to counter China. That's actually only kind of true. That $30 Billion is for a single project - a high speed rail in Saudi Arabia. Face it, Japan does this better than anyone.
Section 10 - Department of Agriculture
First off, eliminate any consideration of climate change issues in any and all policies within the DofA. Craft a new mission statement that focuses on the "removal of barriers" in terms of delivering food to the public. We're talking about safety regulations.
I know that regulations can be a pain to deal with. But take a look at ANY food regulation. Any of them. The reason it exists is because of a reaction to some people DYING. Policies up through thr Trump administration have all been a reaction to somethning terrible happening. After a few years people forget this happened and Republicans want that regulation gone.
The regulation always returns after people die again.
Defund any and all efforts to push sustainable agriculture (which is the reason people spend less of their income on food, by the way). Eliminate regulations that can have any impact on the cost of food. That's just about every regulation from pesticide levels to wages to working conditions to how much cockroach is allowed in your twinkee.
The Commodity Credit Corporation is to be used only for farmers and ranchers. During COVID discretionary funds were used to stockpile various foods, which kept people from starving when various food production operations stopped. The ability to do this would be eliminated.
Repeal many of the farm subsudy programs that currently exist. Some of those are the only things that keep small farmers afloat in hard times. Reduce the amount that taxpayers pay in these programs by 20%. That burden would shift to farmers.
Implement work requirements for Food Stamp and "Snap" aid recipients. Put in requirements for lunches and breakfasts for children in school that would eliminate about 50% of all children currently on the program. Also, move all of this to the Department of Health and Human Services and out of the DofA.
Eliminate funding for leaving land fallow for crop rotation purposes. I guess these people don't actually know farming. Hell, even I know this one and I'm a city kid. Allow farming and ranching in wetlands and federally protected lands. Eliminate Federal food inspections for foods sold accross state lines.
Eliminatge all "checkoff" programs, which are meant to promote certain food industries and restrict monopolies by large corporations on specific commodities. This is meant to squeeze the small farmer out of business in favor of corporate farming.
Eliminate funding for trade promotion for foodstuffs to other countries. I find this one quite strange and very un-Republican. I don't understand it.
Promote an increase in Genetically Modified Foods. Repeal the federal mandate that genetically modified foods must be labelled. Promote Bioengineering of food as a policy.
Eliminate the funding of Dietary Guidelines. This includes the recommended calorie amounts per day, the food pyramid and even the "four food groups" I had as a kid. These things will no longer be taught.
The Forest Service is under the Agriture Department. Right at the top of the list for this department is increased logging anf forest harvesting to prevent forest fires. In fact that's the only thing they discuss in the document. The solution to forrest fires is to have less forrest.
Next posting will cover the Department of Education, The Department of Energy, The Environmental Protection Agency, The Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
