cover up - chapter II
❧
Chapter I / Chapter II
PAIRING: Ravi/OC RATING: Explicit. WARNINGS: None. WORDCOUNT: 4020
Notes: Well. Part two. A little smut. Not full on. Next chapter is probably gonna be the last one. Have fun :)
Had he had a choice, Wonsik would have never told any of them what happened in that room. Ok, maybe he would have told Taekwoon, but only because he didn’t tease him as  much. But, to no one’s surprise, this has been the whole group’s plan. So when he walked  out the waiting room, Hyuk and Jaehwan were waiting for him, cunning expressions on their  faces. Those assholes had been probably standing outside the door since the moment she  walked in.
So it was more like he was forced to tell them all what happened. After all, it was pretty obvious something had happened, his disheveled look giving him away the moment he stepped out of the room.
It was like high school all over again when Hyuk, Hongbin and Jaehwan were laughing and  cheering and asking weird, inappropriate questions that he didn’t even feel like answering.
“Can you all stop asking if I copped a feel?” He asked, his face red with a mix of  embarrassment and annoyance. “I was too taken aback; I could barely even kiss back.”
“Next time, then.” Hyuk said, smiling brightly.
“Shut up,” Wonsik buried his face in his hands, “I still can’t believe this even happened. It  was wild and I don’t think I even kissed her back properly
”
“How are you even alive right now when, every time you see her, you basically trip with your  own feet?” Hongbin asked, genuinely confused.
“I have no fucking idea. She was even looking at me like I was a piece of meat. As far as I  know I fainted during the whole thing.”
Hakyeon was looking at him with furrowed brows and squinted eyes, like analyzing him, it  made Wonsik kind of uncomfortable.
“Can you stop looking at me like that?”
“I’m sorry,” Hakyeon leaned back onto his chair, relaxing his expression but still looking at  him, “I can’t believe we were right.”
“Excuse me?”
“She does want to fuck you.” Hongbin replied instead, looking like he was completely  enjoying himself.
Jaehwan cooed and wiggled his fingers towards Wonsik from the other side of the table;  Wonsik never wanted to hit him as much as he did then.
“Can you all stop saying that?”
“No, no.” Hakyeon replied right away. “It’s true. She kissed you first, that means she likes  you.”
“We saw her when she walked out of the waiting room.” Hyuk said, casually putting a cookie  inside his mouth. “She looked completely happy. I don’t think she even noticed we were  there with how content she was.”
“Please stop getting my hopes up. I still can’t believe we even
” Wonsik couldn’t bring  himself to finish that sentence.
“So what’s your plan?” Jaehwan asked.
“Plan? No, there’s no plan.”
“But-” Hakyeon objected.
“No,” Wonsik put his hands on the table, trying to put a full stop to the situation. “I don’t  want any of you to meddle into this.”
“If it wasn’t for us, you wouldn’t have even kissed her!” Jaehwan complained loudly.
“I don’t care. This has nothing to do with any of you.”
Wonsik finished drinking his glass of water, before standing up and walking to his room. At  least if they were going to plan something (which they obviously were), he didn’t want to be involved at all. Ignorance was bliss after all.
*
The last day of their third week of promotion finished faster than Wonsik expected, and  though he loved promoting, especially when it was a full group comeback, he was glad  everything was almost over. Only a week left before he could lock himself inside his studio  and focus on his music.
It’s been days, almost a week, since the kiss happened, and Wonsik was worried he had  dreamt the whole thing. She went back to being her friendly self, smiling brightly at him,  giving no sign that she even remembered them kissing. It was kind of unnerving. Of course he  wouldn’t bring it up himself, he was a normally awkward person, and it would be even more  uncomfortable if he was the one to bring it up.
He did notice some little changes in her attitude. Like when she was applying makeup on  him, sometimes her fingers would linger a little longer on his face before pulling away. Or  the low, sultry tone she used when speaking to him, it was almost a whisper and it was very  sexy, Wonsik couldn’t believe she was actually talking to him that way when the room was  full of people. The strangest thing was the way she would gaze at him, the same way she  looked at him when they were about to kiss the other day, eyes dark and sly. Wonsik  thought he might turn into stone every time he noticed her looking at him that way.
She would often do so at the most inappropriate of times, like when they all walked into the  room before recording, and he was the last to walk in. They all greeted her, but Wonsik was  very aware that when she said hello back, her eyes were only focusing on him with a self-satisfied smile on her lips.
It was obvious she was staring at him, literally everyone noticed, and Hongbin, who was  usually standing next to him, looked at him completely amused.
“She wants something from you.” He whispered once, only for Wonsik to hear. Wonsik had to elbow him on the ribs to make him shut up.
With all the things he had to endure, Wonsik sometimes sneaked out to be alone, even if it  was for a couple of minutes, to get some fresh air and listen to music.
Some music stations had access to their roof; nobody usually went there unless they wanted  to do something they weren’t supposed to, like smoking and drinking. He would have loved  to have a drink at that moment.
Leaning against the wall near the entrance of the roof, Wonsik put on his earphones and  closed his eyes, inhaling deeply through his nose before sighing loudly.
Right after the first song ended, the roof door opened, and Wonsik got ready to take a few  steps back to the other side to be alone, when a familiar face popped behind the door.
“Hey.” Wonsik gulped and stood up straight at the sound of her voice, taking out his  earphones right away.
“Noona
” He took a few steps to the side after she closed the door, “How did you know I  was here?”
“Hakyeon told me.” She replied, taking a few steps towards him.
That jerk, he had told him that in confidence, positive he wouldn’t use it against him in any  way.
“What are you listening to?” She asked, smiling at him like she always did, brightly. “Um
 just music.”
She took the earphones from his hands and put it on her ears, her smile turning into a grin.
“It’s Eminem.”
“Yeah
 Do you know him?”
“I think everyone does.”
Valid point, Wonsik thought.
She put the earpods back into Wonsik’s hand, and he turned off the music, saving his phone  and the earphones back into his pocket.
“Do you like hip hop?” She asked him.
“Yeah
it’s basically all I listen to.” Wonsik replied, voice a bit squeaky since he wasn’t  expecting to have any conversation at all, especially with her.
“I guess I should have known.” She smiled, leaning in a bit closer.
“What music do you like?” He asked, genuinely curious.
“Mainly pop,” She took a step closer towards him, and Wonsik gulped again. “But I listen to  almost anything.”
He had no idea how she did it, but somehow even that simple phrase sounded like an  innuendo with her voice, and Wonsik tried very hard not to choke.
“About the other day,” Her eyes were on his, her gaze soft, “I didn’t scare you, did I?”
The question caught him off guard, and Wonsik cleared his throat before replying.
“Um
 no, you didn’t
 don’t worry.”
“I’m glad.” That smile of hers was back, and she leaned in slightly closer, looking at him  straight in the eye. “I really liked it.”
“I- I did too
” Wonsik stuttered, his heart rate racing from having her so close.
“Wanna do it again?” She asked, unashamed.
Wonsik’s breath got caught on his throat, and he felt the temperature of his face rising. She  was grinning widely at him, and a mixture of anger and arousal settled inside his chest. She  was doing it on purpose; she completely enjoyed putting him through this.
Cursing under his breath, Wonsik brought his hands to her shoulders, pushing her hastily  against the wall, wiping her smile off her lips for a moment, a bewildered look on her face  replacing it instead. That smirk was back on her lips seconds later though, and she tilted her  head back to gaze at him through hooded eyes, tempting him.
Wonsik really couldn’t help himself when he surged forward, and she sighed when he  pressed their lips firmly together.
It was a dirty, open mouthed kiss, Wonsik wrapping his arms around her waist to have her  close, less shy this time, at the same time she put her arms around his shoulders, one of her  hands tugging at his hair. His tongue roamed her mouth fervently, and she grazed her teeth  at his tongue, a low growl escaping his lips.
He was pressing into her hard, his hands grabbing at her skin, and Wonsik felt a rush of  warmth to his crotch when she moaned into his mouth. He bit at her bottom lip, and she  twisted her fingers in his hair almost painfully, pressing against him just as desperately as  he was. He nipped and sucked at her lip before running his tongue across it, and she whined, arching her back into his touch. They kissed as if they starved, and she was sucking  on his tongue so eagerly at the same time they slid their lips wetly across each other. It was  an addictive sensation, Wonsik never wanted to let her go.
The vibration of his phone inside his pocket, signaling that someone was calling, broke the  atmosphere they created, and Wonsik was ready to throw away his phone and let it smash into a million pieces before breaking up the kiss. She put her hands on his shoulders  however, pulling away and pushing him away just a little.
“Maybe you should get that,” She whispered too close to his lips. She was panting hard and  her lips were swollen, and Wonsik wanted nothing but to kiss her again.
He took a few seconds to catch his breath before pulling his phone out. “It’s Hakyeon.”
Probably calling to tell him it was time for their pre-recording to start, so Wonsik hung up.
She cupped his face in her hands and kissed him on the lips chastely. It took him by surprise  but he sighed, kissing her back before pulling away.
“This was nice.” She was looking at him affectionately and with a smile, and Wonsik wouldn’t  mind spending the whole day there, on that roof with her. “We should go back though. We are still at work after all.”
Pulling away, Wonsik huffed and she giggled kind of innocently for the occasion they were  in. She opened the door and left before he did, Wonsik following shortly behind. His breath  hadn’t totally caught up with him yet, and he was very aware of how tight his pants suddenly  were. He had to walk slowly all the way from the roof to the stage to make himself calm  down.
*
Hanging up on Hakyeon hadn’t been one of Wonsik’s best ideas, but in his defense, he was  doing something that gave him great pleasure (and frustration too, but he wasn’t going to  ever say that). So when Hakyeon pestered him about it, he obviously had to tell him. And,  logically, the whole group knew by the end of the day.
“Did you actually touch her this time, hyung?” Hyuk asked once they got inside the car to go  home.
“If I kissed her, that means I touched her, doesn’t it?” Wonsik replied, not actually willing to  give any specifics.
“Come on!” Hongbin yelled at him, “Hakyeon hyung already told us, why can’t you tell us  again?”
“If he already told you, why do you want to hear it again?”
“We want the first person experience.” Jaehwan replied. He wasn’t even supposed to be in  that car, he had ditched the other elders to gossip about Wonsik’s suddenly trendy love life.  He really couldn’t believe all this.
“We kissed.” Wonsik said, blushing slightly as he recalled the whole thing in his mind. “Hard. I seriously felt like I couldn’t stop myself.”
“Nice.” Said Jaehwan, nodding enthusiastically.
“So did you touch her?” Hyuk pushed. Wonsik glared at him.
“I was just holding her.”
“And did she touch you?”
Wonsik gulped.
“She didn’t.”
“Oh my god, she totally did.” Hongbin grinned as Jaehwan whooped from his seat.
“She didn’t!” Wonsik was aware he didn’t sound very convinced, but it was the truth. The  sad, unfortunate truth.
“She probably wants to, though.” Hyuk was smiling mischievously at him. It was terrifying.
Wonsik hadn’t allowed himself to actually think she wanted to have sex with him in any way.  He still wasn’t sure how those two kisses even happened. It was a miracle she was  interested in him the way she was, considering how pathetic he was when she was around.  He had lost track of how many times he had choked in her presence, not to mention he  stuttered and squeaked when he had to speak with her.
They both still acted as if nothing had happened though. At least when other people were around. One time Wonsik actually forgot his phone charger and had to go look for it when  she was there. They ended up making out a bit before he had to leave.
Wonsik didn’t even need those “plans” the other guys were making to have them hook up,  he himself was looking for excuses to be alone with her because he knew they were going to  end up kissing anyway. And she was happy to oblige, almost always making the first move.
He didn’t actually plan to fall asleep in the waiting room one time though. Wonsik had been  waiting for all the other members to get ready so they could leave, and he fell asleep in a  weird position. When he woke up, he noticed he was entirely alone. He got a weird feeling,  and stood up rather quickly, the joints in his legs cracking loudly when he did.
When he was gathering his things, she walked in, looking surprised to even see him there.
“Noona,” Wonsik was surprised to see her there as well, his voice coming out higher than he  intended. He cleared his throat before speaking again. “Where are the others?”
“Um, the guys are outside, I think.”
Wonsik sighed loudly, relieved, before putting a few of his things lying around inside his  bag.
“I guess I should leave too.”
Looking at her, he noticed how serious her expression was; Wonsik felt his heart beating  loudly inside his chest. Her gaze was still as roguish as ever, and it never failed to make him  feel small and vulnerable.
“Stay.” Her voice was firm, and Wonsik, so weak for her as he was, did as he was told,  putting his stuff away on the floor. “Sit down?”
It was weird she had asked him in the first place when it was clear he would jump off the  building if she asked him to. Wonsik sat down on the couch, trying to keep his back straight  as he looked up at her.
There was something strange about the way she was staring at him. Wonsik thought maybe  she was about to break off whatever thing they had going on the past few days. Promotion was almost ending, and maybe it was just a fling. Maybe she had just wanted to have fun for  a bit before realizing Wonsik was actually quite boring.
His thoughts didn’t go any further when she took a few steps closer and straddled him. She  sat on his lap like it was a seat meant for her, and Wonsik felt his whole body heat up and  tense under hers. Cupping his face with her hands, she leaned in and kissed him softly on  the lips.
It was a common reaction of his to be surprised enough to not know how to respond at all. It  took him a few seconds to kiss her back how he wanted, gentle and unhurried, just the same  way she was kissing him. They almost never got a chance for a kiss like that when their work  only allowed them for rushed pleasure, but he wasn’t complaining. Wonsik’s hands rested  on her thighs, thankful she was wearing shorts that day, as he got to squeeze her skin, a  delicious noise coming out of her lips when he did.
She was pressing her body against his, her fingers slowly going behind his neck and  tangling in his hair; Wonsik really couldn’t help that familiar warmth slowly building at the  pit of his stomach. He groaned into the kiss when she moved her hips ever so slightly, the  friction making his cock twitch inside his pants.
He didn’t notice when she sneaked a hand between their bodies, and pressed it against his  clothed erection, massaging it slowly.
“Fuck
” Wonsik leaned his head back, and she took the chance to kiss and nip at his jaw.
He really couldn’t believe this was happening. She was on his lap, touching him and kissing  him in the waiting room of some music show station, literally anyone could walk in, and  Wonsik didn’t even give a shit. Everything was so surreal, he could only moan and grip at her  skin, trying to keep her as close as possible. He hoped to god nobody would interrupt them  this time.
She pressed her lips against his one time before pulling away and standing back up. Wonsik  must have looked completely lost and messy by the way she giggled at him. He tried to  stand up himself, but was stopped by her hand on his chest.
“Don’t.”
Before he could even ask anything, she sank down on her knees in front of him, right  between his legs, her hands on his knees. It took a while for Wonsik to register what was  going on, the image in front of him going straight to his dick, he could come at any second.  Her gaze was fixated on his as her hands travelled upwards, dangerously close to his crotch,  and Wonsik trembled when her fingers found the button of his pants.
With the little self control he had left, he grabbed both of her wrists, putting a halt to her  wandering hands.
“You don’t have to do this.” Wonsik knew he probably sounded weak, but he was genuine.
“Let me.” Her voice was low and breathy, like she was begging, and Wonsik couldn’t believe  his ears when she spoke. “I want this just as much as you do.”
I want this just as much as you do. Those words actually came out of her mouth, and  Wonsik’s heart stopped.
He let go of her hands, and she smiled at him warmly, her hands going back to undoing his  button and unzipping his pants, before sliding them down just enough to reveal his boxers,  his cock straining the thin fabric. Her eyes were still fixated on his, and Wonsik shuddered  when her fingers hooked around the waistband of his underwear to slowly pull them down.
His dick was hard, and she turned her eyes towards it once it was free from his boxers,  licking her lips as she gaped at it; Wonsik couldn’t believe what he was seeing. She wrapped  her hand around it and pumped it slowly, running her thumb over the slit, making him  groan. He desperately tried not to close his eyes so he could appreciate the sight before him  and engrave it on his brain, but he couldn’t help it when she licked tentatively at the head,  tongue swiping across the slit, a loud groan escaping his lips. Wonsik thought he would  come right then, and he tried very hard to contain himself somehow.
He didn’t really expect her to suddenly wrap her lips around the head of his cock, and  Wonsik’s hand moved to her head, fingers curling in her hair.
“Ah, fuck
” Wonsik breathed heavily.
She chuckled around his dick, sending vibrations right through him, and his hips bucked in  slightly into her mouth. She didn’t pull away though, her lips still wrapped around the head  while her tongue flattened around him, her hand gently stroking the rest.
Curses spilled from Wonsik’s mouth when she took more of him in, the hold of his hand on  her hair tightening. She had almost all of him inside her mouth, it took all his will power not  to buck in and fuck her mouth until he was coming. He wasn’t even sure that’s what he  wanted, she seemed absolutely confident in herself, as she slowly bobbed her head around  him.
“Shit, you’re so good
” The praise came out of his mouth without even thinking, but Wonsik  didn’t regret it when she moaned, her throat flexing around him, making his cock twitch.
He was grunting and panting with every move of her tongue against him, and she was swallowing him down so well, his body tensed every time, getting so close to his climax;  Wonsik was trying to hold on for a little longer, trying to make the moment last for a little while. But she was hollowing her cheeks out, moaning and swirling her tongue around his  dick, pushing him more towards the edge with every move. He wasn’t sure he could hold on  a minute longer.
A loud growl spilled from his lips when he hit the back of her throat, hips snapping. She  made a small noise when it happened, Wonsik thought for a second he had hurt her. Her  hands went to his hips though, holding him in place, as she continued bobbing her head,  keenly sucking him off.
“Wait, ah, babe, I- I can’t-” Wonsik breathed, his brain too foggy to create a coherent  sentence at that moment, and he tugged at her hair to pull her off.
She paid no mind to what he said, determined to get him off, and he was too far gone to  keep trying to pull her off.
With a particular loud growl and a tight grip on her hair, Wonsik came, making her choke  and splutter when he filled her mouth. She still sucked on the head of his dick while  pumping it a few times, before pulling off completely with a soft ‘pop’, Wonsik’s body  shuddering when she did. He watched her gulp down loudly, and it was like there was an  electrical short-circuit in his brain.
He was panting hard, his vision blurry, his mind still trying to make sense of what just  happened. She was pulling his boxers and pants up, tugging him in neatly before zipping  him up. Wonsik swallowed loudly when she went back to straddling him, sitting on his lap  again and putting her hands on his face to stroke his cheeks.
“Good?” She asked with a smile, her tone almost innocent as she pushed his hair back and  out of his face.
Wonsik didn’t trust his voice enough to reply, so he simply nodded. She leaned in and kissed  him on the lips, tongue darting out to taste his mouth, and he let her dominate the kiss,  ignoring the taste of his own cum, too spent out to respond properly.
“Next time,” She leaned her forehead on his, gazing at him with soft eyes, “It won’t be so  rushed.”
Next time, she said. Wonsik wasn’t sure how he would survive next time when he barely had  any energy left at that moment. But he was certainly looking forward to it.

Genre: Angst | Highschool!au
Pairing: Kyungsoo x OC
Length: 1.8k
Warning: Unfinished | OC
Summary: Kyungsoo keeps to himself, but that all might change when the most popular girl in school, who just so happens to be his neighbor, decides to set her sights on him.
Author’s Note: This is an idea I came up with waaaay back in like 2015 I think. I wrote all this and then forgot about it. Idk if I’ll ever get back to it or not. The plot, ngl, was wild, like fucking crazy haha. But it fit Kyungsoo a lot I think.

She was doing it again.
As hard as I tried to ignore her, I couldn’t help but know.
She was staring at me.
Park Sooyoung, the most popular girl in school, was staring at me, Do Kyungsoo, the most invisible person in my class.
Most guys would be flattered by the gesture, but I just wished she would stop. I sink lower into my chair and hold my textbook over my face, hiding it from her view.
I could still feel her stare.
The bell rang, and I was instantly out of my seat. I slung my backpack over a shoulder and spared a glance at the bold girl. Our eyes locked briefly and I cringed internally, pretending it never happened and practically ran out of the school.
When I got to the front, I sighed and leaned against the brick of the building, waiting for my brother to pull up. I was just scrolling down my blog when a burst of sound pulled my attention. I lifted my head and spotted Sooyoung saying her farewells to her minions and heading over to a shiny red mustang, an older man was in the driver’s seat, his shades blocking his face.
Figures. Sooyoung was notorious for her hookups. It was no surprise to me she would try to get an older man—and a rich one at that.
I lifted an eyebrow as I watched the man rev the engine, a cocky grin on his lips. Sooyoung laughed ecstatically and hooted as her friends squealed and they peeled off.
A loud honk straight ahead of me caused me to jump and I felt my face redden as I saw my brother waiting for me. He gestured for me to hurry and I jerkily fumbled to the passenger seat.
The car ride was silent. I’m ashamed to have had Sooyoung catch my attention, no matter how brief. She was not worth my time in the slightest and I was unimpressed with her in every way possible.
“Did you see that mustang in the lot?” My brother, Seungsoo, asked me. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
“Yeah,” I said quietly with a slight nod.
“It was nice. The person who owns it must have money to blow.”
“He must,” I agreed, whipping my phone back out and opening the app to my blog.
I could see my brother glancing at my phone and me quickly, “back on your blog?”
“Yeah,” I repeated myself, my attention not really on my sibling.
“That’s
cool
”
I repressed another sigh. My brother didn’t understand me, and I didn’t really care enough to try to let him. He pitied me somewhat, making himself believe my isolation was not of my own doing. He wished I had more friends.
He cared, I had to give him that. He was a good older brother to have.
He drove up the driveway and parked the car, leaving it idling. He spun to me as I realized our location and began to gather my stuff.
“I have to work tonight, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Tell the parents for me?”
“Will do.”
Seungsoo saluted me off and sped away from our house. My eyes flickered to the pale blue two story building beside my own off white home and sighed again, dragging my bag behind me like a dead dog.
The first thing I noticed once I entered my home was the smell. My mother was in the kitchen, humming to herself. I stood near the entrance, just watching her for a minute. Her back was turned to me and she didn’t notice me once she turned around to the sink, washing her hands briefly.
After I realized she wasn’t going to notice me anytime soon, I slowly climbed the stairs.
I saw my father’s office door was cracked open, so I poked my head inside, knocking gently against the soft wood.
My father was glaring at his computer screen before I caught his attention.
“Kyungsoo,” he greeted with a nod. I bowed and once I straightened, cleared my throat.
“Just letting you know I’m home,” I mumbled, letting my eyes take in the lighting of the room. It was too bright.
My father nodded quickly and returned to his computer.
“I
uh,” I gulped and cleared my throat again. It kept trying to close on me. “Seungsoo hyung has a late shift tonight at the restaurant. He told me to tell you, so
”
I peeked at my father through my lashes as he made a disapproving noise from the back of his throat, “that’s unfortunate. Your mother was looking forward to seeing him
 When is your next shift?”
“Tomorrow at five,” I informed quickly.
“Thanks for letting me know.”
“You’re welcome,” I bowed nearly ninety degrees and quickly departed from his presence, my job done.
I retired to my bedroom, throwing my bag into the corner and myself on top my bed.
My fingers started pulling at strands of my hair without my permission and I bit my lip hard enough to keep my scream from escaping.
I strongly disliked my parents.
~*~
The incessant ringing of my alarm interrupted my dreamless sleep. I groaned and blindly reached for the device, finally hitting the snooze button. I rolled around so that I was lying on my back and blinked blankly at my ceiling.
It was cold.
A lot colder than it was yesterday, and I was both overjoyed and highly annoyed.
I loved autumn. It was my favorite holiday, but I dreaded the winter, and you couldn’t have one without the other it seemed.
My alarm went off again and I rolled back on my stomach just so I could bury my head into my pillow and scream.
By lunchtime, I had yawned around seventy times since my alarm first went off. I got plenty of sleep, but I was exhausted.
Hongbin, who was sitting directly in front of me watched as I blinked and struggled with keeping my eyes open.
“You okay?” He asked.
I focused on his voice and nodded, “yeah. Just tired.”
“It’s probably the weather,” Sanghyuk, who was sitting beside me, rationalized on my behalf.
“Yeah, it’s really cold today, isn’t it?” Hakyeon agreed, shivering for emphasis.
“I like it!” Another guy at my table, Jaehwan—although he preferred to be called Ken for some odd reason—yelled. He threw his beanie on the table and the guy sitting on the other side of me, Wonsik, snatched it up, putting it on top his close shaven head.
These were the closest things to friends I had—although the term ‘acquaintances’ didn’t even really cover what we were. We really only ate lunch together, and sat beside one another in any classes we shared. There was another guy, Taekwoon, who hung out with us occasionally, but he hated areas that were too crowded and chose to eat his lunch alone in his car.
I had no reason to judge him on that.
“I like the cold,” I countered, staring at my rice.
“Isn’t it the best?” Ken urged, excited I was talking.
“I like when it’s chilly, the chilly autumn breeze. You can feel it in your bones, but the sun is still there to reassure you warmth still exists.”
Wonsik grinned, “I like that. Sanghyuk, give me a beat!”
The youngest of us started beat boxing terribly and Woonsik immediately started rapping about the weather. Ken began singing exactly what I had just said, word from word, during Wonsik’s verse.
I shook my head and allowed myself to grin at them.
Hongbin lightly kicked my shin, and when I looked up at him, he grinned knowingly, lifting his eyebrows up to let me know he understood.
That was why I still ate lunch with this odd group.
The rest of school passed by in a blur.
My locker closed with a bang and Sooyoung was on the other side, eyes wide and centered on me.
I jumped as I saw her, my heart racing as I noticed her. “Hi,” she nearly whispered, a knowing grin gracing her lips.
I glanced around the hall even though, at such a close proximity, there was no denying who she was looking and talking to.
“Hi?” I swung my backpack over a shoulder and spun around, heading out to the front of the campus to get picked up.
“So
are we going to talk about the other day?”
I cringed. So she didn’t forget. That explained the stares.
“What about the other day?” I played off. I didn’t want to talk about it. It was a lapse of judgment, my darkest moment of seduction.
“Well
I thought you had fun and
well, I did too. I was wondering if we could do it again sometime, maybe
.”
Her sentence carried as I spun around to glare at her. I wasn’t the tallest person, and she wasn’t the shortest, her head stopped at my nose and it was hard being intimidating at this angle. I felt like a Chihuahua.
“Nothing happened that day, Sooyoung, and even if something did it was unintentional, an accident. One I’m not willing to repeat. Understand?”
Her eyes fluttered when I said her name and she seemed to drift off afterwards, not comprehending anything after.
I gazed at her apprehensively in silence waiting for her reply, but when she remained silent I lifted an eyebrow, “Sooyoung?”
“Yes?” She asked immediately, blinking quickly in an attempt to seem focused.
I sighed and decided I was done with the conversation.
“Kyungsoo!” She called after me and I tried to ignore the weird twist in my stomach hearing my name come out of her mouth. Images of our day together came to the surface without my consent.
I was going to throw up.
My hand was wrapped so tightly around the strap of my backpack I was sure my knuckles were white, I also had a feeling Seungsoo was already waiting for me. That being said, I slowed down enough to let Sooyoung know I was listening to give her time to catch up.
She did and fell instep with me, “you can say whatever you want, Kyungsoo, but I know what happened wasn’t something you could forget, let alone regret.”
“You don’t know me very well,” I informed her with a frown.
She shrugged, “and you don’t know me very well either, or you would know I’m not one for giving up on a conquest.”
“Me? A conquest?”
She laughed darkly and my stomach twisted again. She took ahold of the strap of my bag that dangled behind me and yanked it hard enough for me to fall back a bit. She used my second of falling to redirect my momentum so that I caught myself pressed closely against her. Her lips grazed my ear and her breath stung, “you underestimate yourself, Kyungsoo. Just tell me you’re flattered and you’ll see me tomorrow.”
She pushed me away just as quickly and I barely regained my balance as she strutted ahead of me. Her skirt rolled up so that her ass nearly poked out. I gulped as I watched her walk away, confused and, to be honest, terrified of the girl.
What had I just gotten myself into?

The Price of Freedom
Prompt: #189 for @just-existing1 – “You’re gone
 I watch you disappear
”
just-existing1 said:
Can you do prompt 189 with Taekwoon?
Pairing: Jung Taekwoon x reader
World: Contract (read HERE)
Genre: demon au / angst / fluff
Warnings: none, aside from the supernatural nature of the story
Word count: 1706
A/N: This story is part of a previous world created. Whilst you could read it without the previous context, I highly recommend that you read Contract, linked above first.
Tumblr media
A cold dread overwhelmed you and you snapped up from your slumber, choking on your sobs that were already wracking through your body. Clawing the blankets towards yourself, you peered around your room for signs of distress, other than your own. Your belongings merely stared back at you and you began to wail uncontrollably with the pain that clutched at your heart.
It didn’t matter how many times you had this nightmare, it was raw and crippling every time.
Throwing back the blankets, you padded out into the living area of the penthouse, stopping in your tracks when you saw a figure over in the kitchen. Despite the small sense of logic, you squashed it down as you rushed over to his side, throwing your arms around him from behind. “Oh thank god, you’re-”
You realised then that your arms had come up empty and you dropped your head, the tears dripping to the tiles beneath your feet.
“That’s right, you’re not here anymore.”
It was the one sentence you had repeated to yourself the most since Taekwoon’s demise. The price you had to pay for his freedom. It was ironic, the whole reason he had worked endlessly towards breaking free from his contract was so he could be free to do as he pleased with you.
Neither of you had expected his freedom to come at the cost of losing his body in the process. Within your pain, you hoped the man you loved was at peace now; even if you were anything but free yourself.
The house you stood within had been your shared apartment, and then your lovers’ nest. Now it felt too large, the emptiness without Taekwoon overwhelming you day in and out. The grief was unbearable and you had hoped for the contract you had made with the demon all those years ago to break as well. Then, you’d be riddled with your sickness again and leave this world behind like Taekwoon had done with you.
Moreover, you wished you hadn’t figured out the way to break the curse upon him. If he wasn’t free, he would be at your side still and you would never let him go.
Instead, the reality was bleak. You were still as healthy as you had become after Taekwoon had saved your life, living day in and out in a world that had no place for you anymore. You were neither human nor demon, a hybrid with no place calling for you outside of these walls. No one cared for you anymore, a simple face in a sea of others whenever you went out for necessities.
There was a small part of you waiting for Taekwoon to return, however. Surely there was more to life than what you existed through right now. A reason you were still here, outside of the eternal longing you barely endured. Taekwoon had always been someone who wouldn’t give up, and the denial you held onto insisted that he would still be out there somewhere, fighting his way back to you. It would make no sense for him to just give up now.
And yet, you had seen it firsthand. You were right there when he started to disappear, your hands falling short just as they had now in the kitchen. How could anyone survive through that? It was impossible and yet, you were clutching at all options deep down.
You could say the sentence over and over to yourself but it did nothing to comfort you.
Tumblr media
A year passed by in a blur. You had expected it to be longer, dragging your feet through each muddled and painful day. Although, life continued. You eventually left the penthouse for another of Taekwoon’s homes on Earthside, a small cottage in the middle of nowhere. You had always wondered why he had chosen to buy such a home, knowing the demon to spend more in a night than you had in a year. He lived for the finer things, you included, and the amount of dresses he had ripped from upon your body over the years would have easily been worth more than this place had been to buy.
He had never told you, of course. This place was one he would only return you when the most desperate, the times where not even your comforting words and gentle touches could ease his heart.
Moving here now felt the same for you. Without Taekwoon to calm you, working the land, tending to your animals and harvesting food for the local market kept you satisfied, busy. You had little time to dwell on the past with him. The gardens bloomed; the vegetables grew higher and larger than you had ever anticipated. Soon, you were talking to the milking goats as if they were your only friends you had remaining and sewing your own basic clothing that felt more flattering than any bejewelled gown of your past. You left Taekwoon’s fortunes behind, living for just what was in your means.
There was more fulfilment in your world working this hard. You had once believed being a lawyer would make you the happiest. And to some degree, Taekwoon had made you that at his side. You had negotiated more deals in this lifetime than you could begin to fathom with both humans and interesting creatures of the Underworld. You had talked your way out of death numerous times and convinced an entire vampire coven to change their outdated institution to one that matched a modern world. You had achieved a great deal at the side of your demon lover, and yet it wasn’t until you were sowing seeds for next year’s produce that you had come to realise it had no value. The time you were in now, creating something with your hard work, with the body that Taekwoon had healed from the brink of death, was the most valuable days of your life.
Still, the dreams followed you. Sitting up as the tears silently streamed down your face, you got up, walking outside into the cool night air. Staring up at the sky littered in a thousand stars, you willed yourself to calm down, to come back to reality.
Taekwoon wasn’t going to return now.
It took you some time, the colours of the sky beginning to brighten with the sign of a new morning on the horizon, before you could say you had stepped out of the nightmare and convinced yourself of your place in this world now. Turning, you went to go inside to prepare for the day when you saw him standing there, watching you intently.
Even if it was another hallucination, you smiled, soaking in his intense blue eyes, those that had guided you from the very start. They were your favourite thing in this entire world, and you allowed yourself the moment to admire them before the illusion disappeared, much like it always did.
“Do you plan to just stand there staring?” he wondered, and you frowned, blinking softly.
“This is new,” you murmured as you walked towards the conjured Taekwoon before you. He watched your movement precisely, his eyes travelling your body and arriving back on your face when you were in arm’s reach.
“Of all the places for you to come to. What have you done to my homestead?”
Still a little confused, you glanced around yourself. “This is my home. Doesn’t it look alive?”
“Do I look alive?” he asked softly and you shook your head. “Really? Why don’t you reach out and see for yourself.”
“You’re gone
I watched you disappear,” you told Taekwoon sadly, sidestepping around him and going into the house. Under your breath, you told yourself this wasn’t real repetitively, jumping when the door opened and closed a second time. Snapping around, your eyes widened. “What on
”
“You gave up on my return? Fickle human.”
“E-Excuse me?!” you exclaimed, uncaring due to your shock, whether you were talking to a man who was or wasn’t truly before you. “I waited for you each and every day! I still am waiting! Why do you think I’m here! This house
this house is a part of you!”
Pursing his lips in a way that made your heart ache and flutter simultaneously, Taekwoon stepped towards you. “And are you still a part of me?”
“Who else would take in someone under your contract?”
“I’m amazed Hakyeon didn’t ship you off to help with the elves Hongbin and Wonshik.”
Peering more closely at the man before you, slowly you reached out your hand, Taekwoon catching it midway. His touch was electric, much as it always had been and you felt your legs give way, right as Taekwoon pulled you into his arms.
You sobbed for what felt like an entire day. Nestled into his chest, his hand gently rubbing circles at your back, his words changing from comforting to irksome. This was the man you had fallen in love with, the demon who you sold your soul to.
Somehow he was back and you couldn’t stop the tears of relief that fell from your year-long heartache.
“Just know it was just as painful to be away from you, my love.”
“Why did it take so long?” you managed to ask when your emotions dried up, searching his face for all the answers to all of your questions. Taekwoon smiled softly, brushing your hair away from your face. You then huffed in annoyance. “Troublesome demon.”
“The most wicked of them all to have caused so much heartache to you.”
“Are you truly here? For good?”
“Well, the flowers need pruning and the cows need fodder, do they not? You can’t be expected to do it all. Besides, there’s a soul to collect at the end of all of this.”
“You breached our contract,” you retorted, Taekwoon laughing at your statement heartily. “Also, didn’t you collect this soul in an entirely different way?”
“Who said it was your soul that was up for grabs? It’s only fair if I’m to take yours then you must have mine when that time comes.”
“So you’ll be here forever?”
“Freedom comes with a heavy price to pay. Now that our debts are finally clear, we will have more than forever together.”

Minah was certain she looked like a wet cat clinging onto Taekwoon as he helped her clamber onto the side of the pool, the buzzing in her head nearly drowning out the sound of Hakyeon screaming at Sanghyuk and Jaehwan. Taking another large gulp of breath, she noted the look of concern in Taekwoon’s eyes and nodded, trying to avoid looking anywhere but his face.
Which didn’t help much either, given that it was a terribly attractive face. Neither did it help that he was very close, almost standing between her legs.
“Are you alrigh-” Taekwoon began almost at the same time as Minah did.
“Thank you
” she found herself turning very red under his gaze. “I usually can swim...it’s just
” she wondered why she was whispering.
“Sandals. Excuse me...” the taller replied, reaching to unbuckle the offending footwear off as Minah watched in shock.
“Please! You needn’t!”
“They made you sink like a rock,” Taekwoon mumbled, easing the footwear off and casting them outside the pool where they fell with a clatter. He ran his fingers through the wet strands of his dark hair and let out a sigh through the poutiest pink lips Minah had ever laid eyes on, “I knew those two were up to no good, but I didn’t expect it to go like this.”
“Seriously though, thank you.” Minah’s vision was covered in white as Hongbin threw a towel around her and hauled her to her feet. Violently rubbing her hair with the fluffy fabric, he tugged her towards the house and away from Taekwoon.
“Are you alright? Let’s get you into some dry stuff.”
Minah opened her mouth and closed it, noting the guilty look on Sanghyuk and Jaehwan’s face, Hakyeon and Wonshik’s concerned looks and Taekwoon’s t-shirt by their feet with a half-eaten sandwich lying beside it. She bit her lip and looked down at the soaked ends of her dress and the stringy strands of hair hanging from her forehead. Looking back, she saw Taekwoon clambering out of the pool.
Throwing the kitchen door open, Hongbin led Minah in only to see Haneul setting her bag down on the counter and looking at the dishevelled and very soaked Minah in stark contrast to the crisp business formals she had on. She sighed, shaking her head before holding her hand out to her friend.
“Do I want to know what happened?”
Wrapping the towel tight around herself, Minah nodded to the backyard “Sanghyuk and Jaehwan threw me in the pool. While I had my sandals on...you know, the ones we bought together.”
“Might as well have tied a stone to your leg and thrown you in!” Haneul gasped before turning to Hongbin incredulously “And Hongbin pulled you out?! He can’t even swim to save himself!”
Rolling his eyes, Hongbin sighed “no, Taekwoon jumped in. In fact, he stopped mid-sandwich to jump in. Sanghyuk and Jaehwan thought she was staying underwater to fuck around.” He patted Minah on the back “have you got anything dry for her to wear?” he asked Haneul.
“I think some of Wonshik’s old t-shirts and shorts should do. I think I may have left  something or the other behind, let’s see.” Haneul replied thoughtfully before nodding to Hongbin “go on, give them hell for me...unless Hakyeon is already on the task.”
Hongbin grinned “you bet your butt he is. I’ll just go out and make sure everything is alright and leave you guys to it.”
Watching Hongbin leave, Haneul quickly led Minah upstairs to find her a worn pair of sweatpants and one of Wonshik’s old t-shirts (after much debate about his very questionable fashion taste). Talking to Haneul was very comfortable for Minah. They had been online friends even before Minah had moved to Seoul having come in contact through one of Minah’s high school fests. She liked the warmth that Haneul spread, making everyone feel welcome and at home.
No wonder Wonshik was head-over-heels for her.
“I expected them to pull something like that, but honestly I didn’t expect to nearly drown,” Minah commented, tugging the t-shirt over her head, “I think I’m drowning in these anyway,” she said, stepping out of the bathroom and doing a dramatic twirl for Haneul.
“As long as you’re dry,” Haneul replied looking at her phone. “Haven’t Ara and Miya turned up yet? They were both pretty excited about meeting Hakyeon and Taekwoon.” It dawned on Minah that in the confusion, Haneul hadn’t had a chance to greet her friends either.
“No, they haven’t. I was expecting Miya sometime soon. Ara said she had a meeting with her boss. You should head down and meet Hakyeon and Taekwoon, I’ll just dry my hair and join you.”
Haneul set her phone aside “yeah, I’ll head down. I think Sanghyuk and Jaehwan will be preparing a ‘we’re sorry’ speech scripted by the one and only Cha Hakyeon. I don’t want to miss that!” she chuckled, heading to the door of the room before pausing and cocking her head “I think Miya is here.”
Minah leaned out of the bathroom to hear the steady thump-thump of footsteps coming up the stairs and prepared herself for the ball of energy that was their beloved Miya. If Jaehwan was a cute ray of sunshine, Miya was sunshine in the shape of a human being. Exuding happiness (and inappropriate jokes) and lifting everyone’s mood up, Miya was a pleasure to have around.
“3...2...1” Haneul counted down and the door flew open as Miya stormed in waving a bunch of irises tied together neatly with a violet ribbon and eyes wide.
“SANGHYUK TRIED TO KILL MINAH?!”
“I see Hongbin got to you first,” Haneul commented, holding the door open for the taller one to rush in and tackle Minah into a hug.
“You’re alive!” Miya threw her arms around her friend again dramatically making the latter giggle into her shoulder.
“Yes, very much alive, thank you.” Minah eyed the flowers clutched between Miya’s fingers “Are those for Hakyeon or Taekwoon? Because they’re getting crushed.”
Miya quickly detached herself from Minah and examined the flowers checking if there was truly any damage caused.
“Why are you gifting flowers of hope to two men returning from enlistment?” Haneul squinted at the flowers while Minah noted the sheepish grin and the blush creeping up Miya’s cheeks.
“They’re flowers of hope?”
“Did you just buy seasonal flowers? Because irises do quite well at this time of the year. I’m sure Hakyeon will appreciate them...not sure about Taekwoon, I’m sure he’d rather have a tub of ice cream...” Haneul mused as Miya turned redder.
“They’re not for either of them...uh...someone gave them to me
”
There was a moment of silence as Minah and Haneul processed what Miya had told them.
“Oh my god, who is it?!” Haneul exclaimed while Minah rubbed her own hair with the towel thoughtfully.
“What’s the ethics of people giving their counsellors flowers?”
“No no! It’s not someone coming to the centre! It’s from the part-timer at the florist’s next door!” Miya replied frantically waving her hands (flowers and all) to somehow make Minah’s train of thought come to some form of a halt.
“Oh?” Minah smirked, nudging Miya slightly.
“The part-timer has a wittul crush on our baby Miya?” Haneul giggled, joining in on the nudging.
“Nothing of the sort! I was just having a particularly heavy day so I came out of the centre for some air and a cup of tea! I was sitting on the bench outside just...decompressing and he came over and asked me if I was alright! I just told him I was getting a little overwhelmed at work and he ran into the shop and came back with these and ran away!” the tallest exclaimed as Haneul cooed.
“That’s so sweet! He was giving you a bunch of hope!”
“Was he cute?” Minah nudged her friend again. Miya threw herself on the bed in response (holding the flowers away to prevent them from being crushed) and mumbled into the mattress.
“I’m taking that as a yes,” Haneul replied, plucking the flowers out of her hands. “I’ll put these in a vase so you can take them home when we’re done with dinner.” Heading towards the door she turned back “wash up and come down.”
“Okay!” Miya called into the mattress giving the eldest a thumbs up while Minah patted her back. Miya rolled on the bed and looked at her friend who was shooting her an amused smile. “Minah! He looked like a cute little bunny!”
“Hmm,” Minah hummed thoughtfully “we do like bunnies...except Hongbin sometimes. Are you going to talk to him any time soon?”
Miya stared at the ceiling for a long moment, letting some of the stress of the day ease out of her body with a long exhale. “I don’t know...I should thank him for the flowers I suppose.”
“Maybe ask him to a cup of tea or something?” Minah replied, plopping down beside Miya “I need to figure out how to thank Taekwoon as well.”
Miya frowned “thank Taekwoon?”
“Yeah, he got me out of the pool. Didn’t Hongbin tell you?”
Miya rolled her eyes “no! He told me you nearly drowned and I was too worried to care about who saved you so I ran upstairs!”
“And now you can see I’m fine! Now go wash up, I’ll wait for you.” Minah smiled, lying down on the bed as Miya rolled off it and hurried into the bathroom. The former sighed, feeling more at ease with Haneul and Miya around. She wondered when Ara would be coming in given that she’d been frequently having meetings with her boss...what was his name again?
“Miya! What is Ara’s boss’ name? Was it Myungsoo?’
“Nah! It’s Kyungsoo!” Miya called back, rinsing her face.
“Huh, I was always bad with names,” Minah grumbled, starting when the door opened and Taekwoon’s head popped in.
“Uhm
” she struggled to sit up as he walked in.
“I was wondering if you were alright...so I came to check on you
” he began as Miya stuck her head out of the bathroom to see who the intruder was. “Sanghyuk was feeling too guilty to come...he’s been pacing like a mad man downstairs.”
“Oh...uh
yeah, I’m alright.” Minah sat up, fixing the t-shirt which she was practically drowning in. “I was just waiting for Miya,” she added, nodding towards the bathroom.
“Hey! Welcome back!” Miya waved with a grin as Taekwoon shot her a familiar warm smile.
“You’ve grown
” he commented as the youngest smirked proudly.
“I’m still growing, can you believe?”
Minah found herself smiling at the familiarity between the two, freezing when Taekwoon turned back to her and feeling scrutinized under his gaze. Heat flooded up her cheeks as she met his gaze, wondering if it was normal for someone to have such intense eyes.
“Are you sure you’re alright? Do you want to head back home?” he asked as Minah shook her head.
“No, I’m quite alright, thank you. I think we can head down and put everyone’s worries to rest,” she said, standing up and nodding to the door. Taekwoon shot her get-up an amused look before stepping out. Miya on the other hand smirked.
“What?” Minah blinked in confusion as she stepped out of the room.
“Nothing, other than you let your googly eyes for Jung Taekwoon slip,” Miya whispered, following her friend out.
“I had no googly eyes!” Minah hissed back.
“Sure, okay
.Ara!” Miya waved at the new entrant standing at the end of the stairs greeting Taekwoon. Ara’s short bobbed hair bounced as she enthusiastically waved back.
“Hello, ladies! Sorry, I’m late, had a meeting! I brought cake though!” she held up a large box with a grin. Taekwoon quickly relieved her of the cake before heading into the kitchen.
“You’re having an awful lot of meetings these days,” Miya smirked as Ara shrugged in response.
“Kyungsoo had ordered the book I’d been looking for for months, so he called me in to hand it over to me.”
“That’s quite nice of him...isn’t this the second time in the month that he did this?” Minah quirked her eyebrow at Ara who shrugged again.
“Yeah, but it’s an acquisition for the shop as well. So I get to read it at work.”
“You know most bosses don’t let you read at work even if it is a book store?” Minah replied “maybe you’re a special employee.” she winked, while Miya held back a cackle.
“I am good at my work,” Ara nodded thoughtfully, making Miya and Minah roll their eyes. Ara often seemed oblivious to the attention she was gaining with her existence. Her pixie-like features and friendly demeanour attracted a great deal of men, women, and everyone in between, only to have their hearts very gently broken. From what Minah had understood, Kyungsoo had hired Ara not just for her skills in book-keeping, but the customers she attracted.
Apparently, the boss himself was interested. But she’d let Ara figure that one out for herself.
“I’m so good at my job that he’s ordered the Guardians book I’d been crying to you guys about! They should be coming in a few weeks...imports, you know.” Ara puffed up proudly and Miya patted her shoulder.
“You sure are the employee of the decade, now come. I’m starving.”

History Walls
Tumblr media
Genre: just a friendly scenario with a very slightly friends-to-lovers.
Pairing: Kim Wonsik/Ravi x Reader (female).
Warnings: none.
Word count: 1.371.
REQUESTED.
There’s this literature project counting as the major grade and your friends couldn’t think about any person that wasn’t you to work with.
-x-
"What I'm saying is that doesn't matter what you're reading, because any kind of literature is a literature! Anything that makes you read is interesting because it can develop your creativity and vocabulary." Hanging out in a bookstore wasn't how you planned to spend your saturday. Not with the guys, actually, because you love a good bookstore, but being the one who got invited was a little different. Since you were a good student, with the higher grades in class and the most well developed assignments, you were the first thought of the guys. Not that they only wanted to work with you because of that. It's just easier to work with friends, and if they're smart, it's a plus. "Do you really think that?" Taekwoon was looking at you but his face was hard to describe. He could be genuinely curious about your opinion or preparing himself to end all your arguments. "Yes, I do. What do you think?" "I think a good literature is the better option to extend your intelectual atributes." "But what's a good literature?" "Oh, here we go again..." You could only chuckle at Hongbin's statement. Any topic could get kinda phylosifical in seconds when you were talking, which was a little boring but an amusement to them at the same time. Hearing you talk all your points of view was nice, not only because you helped them to get another vision about certain topics, but also because your excitement was interesting to watch. "A good literature is that one that makes me travel around the theme, like I'm floating in the author's ideas." "That's a good point, really. I think it's important to feel conected with the material you're reading, to take that to yourself. But as you said, a good literature is the one that makes you feel it. And this can be anything. It can be a thick book about a country's history, a cute and tragic romance, a fashion magazine or even the shampoo bottle. It can work differently for every person." "Even a shampoo bottle? How's that could work?" "Imagine that you're a chemical student, learning how to compose something. Don't you think the specified rotule would make you wonder how to work with that? Which combination is the better one? To whom that product can work well?" "Oh, that makes a lot of sense. So, that's how bedtime stories works for kids at night? I mean, it can stimulate their thoughts and affect their dreams?" You nodded. It was good they were catching your point. Hakyeon started to look at you proudly, his words dancing at his expression. He didn't needed to talk it out loud, but you knew that he was thinking you would be amazing as a teacher - which was the main point of your academical career. "Do you think it's problematic for an adult to like stories made for kids?" Jaehwan looked really curious, subtly. Which was kinda normal. You were used to his comportment that can change in seconds from playful to serious. "Of course not! I understand that some people may joke around and tell to this person to grow up, but they're doing it! Just like everybody. It's something to read, and as long as the person enjoy the topic, it's valid. Nobody should say otherwise." Humming in agreement, they started to work on the summary of the literature assignment. Actually, it was something to present, with slides, point of views and lots of topics related to the main point. That's the reason requiring a whole 7 members group. The teacher has given almost two months to prepare it, since it was a final project for the semester, so there was a lot of time to do it, and it wasn't that hard. But being an applied student, you always liked to do your assignments as soon as possible, and your friends knew it, even not being the same way. It would be kinda hard to everyone thinks exactly the same way, and that's why some discussions happened along the day. "I don't think it's healthy for a kid, for example, to read adult things." "That's why there's age recommendation, Taek." "But there are things that doesn't have it. Like those shampoo bottles you said earlier." "I don't think a kid would read that these days, but it's not forbidden. Maybe they can be a chemical engineer in the future, right? Is that bad?" Taekwoon just looked at you and returned to the book while thinking about it. Wonsik was the one who was strangely quiet that day. No one seemed to notice when he left the table to disappear between those big book walls. But that did bother you. If he wasn't feeling ok, you'd like to help. His face looked puzzled, almost lost in thoughts, and the way his eyebrows furrowed a little trying to read the book title on his hand was very cute. "Do you need some help, Wonsik?" He then looked at you, nodding. "I'm starting to think that this book isn't even in english." The thick and brown cover, with golden letters, and a thin dust layer, was actually in german. "It's not. But I can find a english version of it, if you want it. Or a korean." Wonsik smiled at you, showing off his perfect teeth, resembling a little like a cute bunny, but also big. While you showed him the way to the library part where would had be the book in his elected language, you grow up some curiosity. "May I ask you why do you wanna read this book? It's quite sad. Are you alright?" "I'm okay, yeah. I'm just curious, and trying to expand my known list of books. I wanna be smart." "You already are. But it's great to know more, also because you're getting to know another type of writing. If you feel too sad to finish, you can just call me and I'll resume to you." "Did you read it?" Nodding, you grabbed the book and gave it to Wonsik. "Can I call you if I have some doubt?" "Sure. I'll be glad to help." Then, the silence came. Being around Wonsik was nice, but along with the others. Alone, it was weird because he seemed uncomfortable in your presence. You didn't knew why; there wasn't any memorable thing that happened that may have hurted him or anything. So it was just weird. And turned your cheekies into a red color because of your shyness. But also his, which you didn't knew the reason. "Maybe... Can I just call you...?" "What do you mean? We're friends, right? You can call me." That was unexpected. But you weren't denying an approximation. Maybe things could get better. "No, I mean, like, not a friendly relationship." "Oh, so like... strangers?" "What? No, not like that too." You weren't following his idea. The question mark was almost tattooed in your forehead. "In a getting-to-know kind of relationship." He seemed nervous about the topic. "I thought we were already doing... Oh." Then something clicked in your head. And your cheekies burned even more. Specially because Sanghyuk appeared in the hallway looking for both of you. "Are you done with this weird dating thing? We're needing some help." Before you could explain the situation, he disappeared. Wonsik nodded and smiled weirdly at you and returned to the table. Was he developing some kind of crush on you? He was like the main crush of the entire class. It wouldn't be bad, but it didn't make sense at all, specially because he had never said anything. Maybe you'd have to figure it out. Returning to the table, you saw a thoughtful Wonsik and other five hardworking men. Sitting on your spot, you quickly wrote a simple "yes :)" on a post-it and passed to the man on your side, almost like a secret mission. You could sense him trying not to break into a wide grin, and you felt related. It's a little weird how things work, but it can be good. Turning your attention to the paperwork, the boys seemed a little lost, just how Sanghyuk has said. "What do you need me for?"

“We know that in September, we will wander through the warm winds of summer’s wreckage. We will welcome summer’s ghost.”
— Henry Rollins
The morning after the storm is bright and golden. Sanghyuk wakes up when the sun is well above the horizon. The rattling of the windows in the storm has kept most of the manor's occupants awake and he only manages to sleep once the storm passes, well into the night. He makes his way down the halls to the kitchen. The house is quiet, as if slumbering after the stormy night like its inhabitants are. All except one Sanghyuk discovers as he finds Hakyeon in the kitchen.
“Good morning” Hakyeon greets him and Sanghyuk greets him in response. His throat is constricted in the mornings and his voice sounds husky with sleep. He makes a beeline for the nearest chair and tries not to rub his eyes and fails.
“Did you sleep well?” Hakyeon asks, brewing tea and adding some extra water to the kettle for Sanghyuk. He slides onto a tall stool by the counter, sitting next to Sanghyuk who yawns sleepily when handed his mug. Hakyeon almost melts at how soft Sanghyuk looks right now with his hair mussed, eyes half closed and sweater pulled down to cover his fingers as he warms them on the mug with the hot tea. He stuffs the warmth in his chest deep down and tries not to let the sudden overwhelming amount of affection show.
“More or less,” Sanghyuk says before yawning again. Hakyeon smiles knowingly and Sanghyuk sighs, admitting to the truth.
“The storm was really loud yesterday,” Hakyeon says, staring out of the window. In the distance, Sanghyuk can see the garden filled with leaves and jumbled flower beds and feels terrible for Jaehwan who has been slaving away in the gardens since he came home.
“I hope the farm is better off” Hakyeon says, knocking on the table thrice. Sanghyuk’s family’s farm has many open fields and Hakyeon doesn’t believe flowers are as sturdy as some other crops grown around town. At least vineyards have wooden frames supporting the growing plants.
“Our fields and greenhouses are sturdy, don’t worry,” Sanghyuk says. The rain storms of Amboise are not new to his family and the farm has safeguards in place to protect the produce. The great storm during his great grandfather’s time had been a hard lesson with an entire year’s worth of crops lost.
“You know” Hakyeon starts and his smooth voice pulls Sanghyuk out of his reminiscing. “On a more peaceful day, it’s refreshing to sit outside in the garden in the mornings.”
Sanghyuk hums in agreement and Hakyeon wistfully stares outside. He turns to Sanghyuk who looks at him thoughtfully. He raises an eyebrow and Sanghyuk shakes his head. Sanghyuk sets his mug down, idly running his finger around the rim as he rests his head on his other hand.
“The rains will stop once September starts” Sanghyuk says. “And we’ll have a few days of sunlight in early fall before the cold creeps in.”
“That’s my favourite part of the year,” Hakyeon confesses. “When it is a pleasant temperature and there is still sunshine to warm you up.”
“We should go on a picnic then like we did last week. Or simply walk by the river. The trees along the banks turn orange and look beautiful” Sanghyuk proposes.
“I’d like that,” Hakyeon says, smiling brightly. “We should make a plan once everyone else wakes up. But I don’t know if Hongbin and Jaehwan are staying in Amboise that long.”
“Ah” Sanghyuk says, looking at his own mug. He doesn’t meet Hakyeon’s eyes. How could he have forgotten about Hongbin? Taekwoon and Jaehwan’s enigmatic guest who seems to have captured all of Hakyeon’s attention with his easy and friendly going charm. Jealousy is an ugly virtue but it hits Sanghyuk full swing.
“Hopefully the weather clears up before he has to leave” Sanghyuk says out loud without truly meaning it.

02
"Notice that autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature."
- Friedrich Nietzsche
It’s Sunday and Sanghyuk chooses to stay behind at the farm. He intends on spending the day in bed, wallowing in self pity. Now that Hakyeon has company of someone he likes, it feels stupid to continue meeting him at the farmer’s market and giving him flowers.
In hindsight, it sounds like an absolutely stupid plan and Sanghyuk is embarrassed by his past self. Who would think that flowers are a good indication of affection in this day and age? For all he knows, Hakyeon probably thinks flowers aren’t even that significant to him since he grew up on the farm.
Sanghyuk rolls around on his bed and lets more mortifying scenarios pop up in his head. It’s acutely painful and Sanghyuk thinks romance is just not worth it and he should wash his hands off it before he does any more damage to his dignity.
His phone chimes when he receives a message from Jaehwan asking him where he is and why he isn’t at the market downtown. Sanghyuk racks his brains for a plausible excuse and settles for being needed to help his mother at the farm. The sunflowers need to be harvested and he really should lend her a helping hand and he resolves to do so once Jaehwan replies.
Perhaps he should have immediately left his phone behind because Jaehwan messages him to say that Hakyeon missed him and Sanghyuk almost cries in frustration at his own feelings.
-
"I know what you are doing, you know" Jaehwan says, using a clipper to snip at the thorns of the rose in his hand.
"What am I doing?" Sanghyuk asks, focusing on the task at hand instead of focusing on Jaehwan.
It's the starting of September and these will be the last batches of roses to bloom on the farm. His father puts him to work on removing the thorns from the flowers before they can be sold to the town florists. It's time consuming work but it is perfect to avoid your thoughts and Sanghyuk agrees to do it.
That is, till Jaehwan shows up.
Jaehwan is a persistent man (and a good friend for checking in on him). Sanghyuk doesn't like to admit it but he has been moping ever since he returned from dinner at Taekwoon's house. He doesn't think he was that obvious but here Jaehwan is, sitting in his greenhouse and dethorning roses and looking at him knowingly.
Jaehwan's scrutiny makes him feel foolish and silly and Sanghyuk decides not to look his way.  Jaehwan isn't deterred by this. Sanghyuk doesn’t hold a candle to the flame that is Taekwoon avoiding talking about feelings.
"You're being foolish" he says plainly. The sky is blue, the wind is chilly today and Sanghyuk is being foolish. All three sentences can be expressed to the same effect in Jaehwan's tone. Sanghyuk splutters and snips a leaf off by accident. The leaf falls to the ground, its existence mocking his lack of subtlety.
"You should be glad Hakyeon is here with you and not cities away, too busy or too tired to talk some days" Jaehwan says bitterly.
"I know
" Sanghyuk starts. He sympathizes with Jaehwan. He doesn't know Wonshik but he must be a wonderful man to have Jaehwan so devoted to him even when there are miles between them. But he doesn't have the assurances for his affection that Jaehwan has from Wonshik.
"I don't think
I don't think he likes me the same way I like him" Sanghyuk admits. The words hurt and he busies himself with sorting through the bundles of flowers and arranging them into neat bouquets.
"You couldn't be further from the truth" Jaehwan scoffs. "Anyone with a functioning pair of eyes can tell Hakyeon likes you."
"Maybe he used to but-" Sanghyuk cuts off. If Jaehwan doesn't know about Hakyeon's actual object of affection then it is not his place to tell him. To be honest the idea of Hakyeon liking him, even if it is once upon a time is quite incredulous.
"But?" Jaehwan prompts.
"Nothing" Sanghyuk lies. He sighs and lets his shoulders drop. It really is starting to get colder. Amboise doesn't have cold winters but Sanghyuk wonders if this season just reflects the heartbreak he feels.
“Well, he likes you and you like him and you are being stupid by not asking him out when you can” Jaehwan says and Sanghyuk sighs.
-
Sanghyuk doesn't plan on hiding forever. The town is small and he will eventually run into Hakyeon. If not at the farmer's market then at the small movie theatre by 2nd Street that Hakyeon frequents whenever there is a new movie released or at the amphitheatre in the Town Square where the travelling troupe performs when they are in town. Hakyeon really loves plays and you can see his eyes lighting up when he watches performers deliver unrealistically dramatic lines.
Sanghyuk knows that running into Hakyeon is inevitable. But he doesn't expect to run into him at the delicatessen because it is so far from the area Hakyeon lives in. (A part of Sanghyuk wonders if he pays too much attention to Hakyeon or if it is normal to know so much about a person after knowing them for so long.)
"Hi" Hakyeon says, as surprised as Sanghyuk feels.
"Hey" Sanghyuk says, pushing his hands into his pockets. Blunt ending to a long lasting crush or not, it still is a pleasure to see Hakyeon. It's cold enough for him to start wearing thin sweaters and he smells of earthy spices and his favourite wood scented perfume.
"Haven't seen you in a long time" Hakyeon says, paying for his order and putting the wrapped meats away in the basket he is carrying.
"End of summer harvests usually means a lot of work at the farm" Sanghyuk tells him. Hakyeon steps back to let him order but hangs close by, unwilling to end the serendipitous meeting first.
"Well, if you are free this Wednesday then we were thinking of a small wine tasting outing to the vineyards in Bordeaux. Nothing fancy" Hakyeon tells him.
"So no dressing up in suit and ties with Taekwoon quoting great dead French poets of the past?" Sanghyuk asks teasingly.
"I'm afraid not" Hakyeon laughs. "Hongbin is going back home by the Sunday train. We wanted to take him there before he goes there because he doesn't know when he will return."
"A shame" Sanghyuk says. His order is ready and he pays for it. This is a perfect cue to escape this conversation. Sanghyuk isn't inclined to be the third wheel to a getaway where his crush can be stolen from him. But he makes the mistake to linger because he has missed Hakyeon too much to cut him off.
"Taekwoon and Jaehwan are clearly distraught. But what do you say? Would you like to come along?" Hakyeon asks hopefully.
Sanghyuk has never been able to say no to his doe like eyes.

03
“The violets in the mountains have broken the rocks.”
― Tennessee Williams
"I'm glad you decided to come along" Jaehwan says as Sanghyuk helps him load their luggage into the car trunk.
The trip is short and the company settles on using Jaehwan's convertible for the trip. The amount of bags makes Sanghyuk question their decision but Jaehwan insists that his baby can make the trip and so he defers to his judgement.
"Are you going to go to Paris with Hongbin on Sunday?" Sanghyuk asks Jaehwan.
"No. But I am leaving on Sunday too. I am going to Manchester to meet my father. Business stuff" Jaehwan says. Sanghyuk doesn't know what exactly Jaehwan does but he knows his father works in the fast fashion business and assumes it must be something related to that.
"How long are you traveling for this time?" Sanghyuk asks, making idle conversation while they wait for others to show up.
"A few months. I think I'll be back in spring next" Jaehwan says, counting and estimating in his head.
"On the plus side, you will be with your family for Christmas," Sanghyuk points out. Jaehwan smiles and Sanghyuk is glad. He thinks he will miss Jaehwan and finds that he genuinely means it.
"Can’t say that will be a blessing. I guess it's time to go" Jaehwan says, watching as Hakyeon and Hongbin emerge from the house followed by Taekwoon who locks the door behind him. The two laugh at something while Taekwoon indignantly protests. Hakyeon puts his hand around Hongbin's waist and Sanghyuk looks away wondering if he has made a mistake agreeing to this outing.
-
“I don’t know why we travelled all the way to Bordeaux when we live right next to Loire Valley” Sanghyuk confesses as they unpack their luggage in the shared room. The group stops at a motel for the night. The two cities are not far by road but no one wants to drive for hours after a long day and in the middle of the night.
“We travelled because Taekwoon believes Bordeaux red wines are the best when clearly Samour sparkling wines are superior but then Taekwoon just said I had cheap taste buds” Jaehwan scoffed. He flopped around on his side of the bed before pouting and burying his head in the pillows.
“So you basically agreed to travel here to prove a point to Taekwoon” Sanghyuk says, amused at the elder’s antics.
“Would have snuck in a bottle of bubbly too if it wasn’t ‘in bad taste’ and ‘not allowed Jaehwan’” Jaehwan says, imitating Taekwoon’s disapproving voice and adding air quotes for emphasis. Sanghyuk laughs and Jaehwan continues his impressions, happy that he has an audience in a person who isn’t clearly protective of his brother.
Their reverie is interrupted when Jaehwan gets a call from Wonshik and Hakyeon steps out of the shower, announcing it is free for whoever wants to use it next. Jaehwan steps out into the balcony to answer it and Sanghyuk looks to Hakyeon who simply has a towel wrapped around his waist. His features are softer than what Sanghyuk imagined and Sanghyuk commits those lines and curves to memory.
“You’ll catch a cold like that” he says when Hakyeon catches him staring. Hakyeon blushes and pulls a t-shirt over his head. Sanghyuk looks away and gives him the privacy to get dressed. His cheeks have a matching flustered shade of pink and he focuses on picking at the frills of the pillow instead of looking at Hakyeon.
The bed dips and Hakyeon sits next to him. The two of them look at the balcony where they can see Jaehwan smiling as he talks, parts of his conversation reaching them through the open window and the dusk frames his visage. The sky visible above the neighbouring buildings is already blue. The sun is setting and Sanghyuk feels the night wash over. Next to him, Hakyeon is warm and smells of berry scented shampoo. Their shoulders brush and knees touch. Hakyeon doesn’t move away so Sanghyuk stays too.
“We have some time before the wine tasting” Hakyeon says.
“We do” Sanghyuk agrees.
Hakyeon puts his head down on Sanghyuk’s shoulder and the younger tenses up. “Wake me up when we need to leave” he says, closing his eyes and resting against Sanghyuk. His frame is sturdy and his body is all muscle and broad shoulders after working on the farm for years. It feels warm and safe. Hakyeon’s own skin is cooler after the shower and the contrast feels pleasant.
“Okay” Sanghyuk agrees. Hakeon feels him relax and hunch a bit so he can rest properly. He puts an arm around Hakyeon and Hakyeon places a hand on his thigh and slowly falls asleep the way blooming flowers close at the end of day.

"Autumn leaves don't fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on this their only chance to soar."
- Delia Owens
As predicted, Taekwoon and Jaehwan argue the moment the sommelier withdraws after pouring the first round of wines. Hakyeon shushes them to get them to behave the two huff petulantly. Hongbin looks at Sanghyuk and the two try not to laugh too hard. Taekwoon and Jaehwan restrain themselves till the third wine is served and then break into barbs and jibes at the other’s taste with no hope of reconciliations any moment in the near future.
“Are they always like this?” Sanghyuk asks Hongbin as Hakyeon sighs and drags them away from the high table to a more peaceful corner where they won’t disturb their fellow diners.
“Hakyeon tells me that Taekwoon is only this lively around Jaehwan. I am inclined to believe him” Hongbin says.
“You and Hakyeon seem close,” Sanghyuk casually comments. He shouldn’t be petty but he is and slightly jealous too. But Hongbin doesn’t notice the bite in his voice.
“Hakyeon is like an older brother to me now. We get along better than I thought we would but Hakyeon is just so friendly you know?” Hongbin tells him.
“A brother?” Sanghyuk asks in surprise.
“Trust me, I was surprised too” Hongbin agrees. “I don’t make friends this easily. But then again I don’t normally travel to far away towns with people I have only known for a few days or fall in love with someone I just met.”
“In love
with someone you just met? Taekwoon?” Sanghyuk asks, multiple pieces of the puzzle clicking into place together in his head.
This explains the odd glances and the way Hongbin and Taekwoon always gravitate to each other when Taekwoon is normally so reserved. All of a sudden, Sanghyuk feels foolish for not knowing this sooner because it has always been in front of him as plain as day.
“Yeah” Hongbin confirms, glancing over at his lover who stands to the side with his hands folded and glaring at Hakyeon and Jaehwan who are in a deep discussion about something else. Hongbin walks over and rescues Taekwoon from the conversation that will have no end and Taekwoon puts his hand around Hongbin. Sanghyuk feels very silly indeed.
“Between the two of them, I am going to age faster than I should” Hakyeon says when he comes over to talk to Sanghyuk. “I swear I have a few grey hairs already.”
“I think they would suit you” Sanghyuk says. The realization that Hakyeon does not like Hongbin because Hongbin likes Taekwoon gives him a rush of bravery that no wine can. The merlot is potent but the intoxication of affection is deadlier.
“Grey hairs?” Hakyeon asks, amused at Sanghyuk’s declaration.
“I think you’d still be pretty after aging for many years” Sanghyuk tells him.
The sincerity of the statement makes Hakyeon blush. He seems to be doing that a lot around him. Crush or no crush, Hakyeon thinks Sanghyuk will be terrible for him. The indulgence and affection will spoil him beyond measure. If only Hakyeon has the courage to reach for what he wants.
“Ah well, it’s only till Sunday I guess. Then it will just be me and Taekwoon again” Hakyeon says ruefully.
“I’ll miss both of them” Sanghyuk says. This time he means it genuinely. Hakyeon hums in agreement and the two of them sip on their wine in a companionable silence.
“If you ever feel alone at the manor, you can come down to the farm sometimes. There’s always people working on something or the other and the sights from the fields are pretty” Sanghyuk offers. “Jaehwan comes over all the time now. We always have room for one more if you want company.”
-
Sanghyuk sees Hakyeon next in October, two weeks after their trip to Bordeaux. The homogeneously green trees give way to a mix of brown, orange, yellow and green and the summer rains give way to clear blue skies where the white clouds float, content to just exist and drift.
Sanghyuk waits for Hakyeon, this time carrying a bouquet of roses. It’s a surprise batch of late bloomers and his mother allows him to take a few. It’s too cold for roses but the sun shines bright on some days and the flowers thrive and Sanghyuk thinks that this is reflective of his own feelings for Hakyeon. He’ll never verbally admit to Hakyeon, but he can’t think of any alternative except to give them to him.
“You have roses!” Hakyeon exclaims in happiness when he walks up to Sanghyuk. His arms are full with his purchases and Sanghyuk takes a few bags from him so he can hold the flowers.
“Late bloomers” Sanghyuk tells him by way of an explanation.
“Still very pretty” Hakyeon says. The roses aren’t red and this isn’t a tacky love confession but he finds the light pink colour pretty and any gift from Sanghyuk is a gift he will treasure.
The two walk down to the parking lot and Sanghyuk helps Hakyeon put things away. Hakyeon holds onto the flowers, insisting that they are too pretty to part with. Sanghyuk loiters and they make idle talk about the weather and the townsfolk they know and how the winter this year seems colder than the previous year. When they run out of topics to talk about, they talk about more trivial things till Sanghyuk looks at his watch and realizes he must go back to help his family.
“I also have tickets to a play by the travelling troupe you love” Sanghyuk says, shuffling his feet like an awkward child. “If you’d like to go with me.”
“I don’t think I would like anything more” Hakyeon declares. He smiles and Sanghyuk thinks he looks prettier than the flowers he is holding. In fact, Hakyeon’s smile might be the prettiest thing in the universe. A sign of the spring of the heart in the midst of the somber autumn all around that seems to gain colour as the old leaves softly drift through the wind.

Hyde (TW)
Tumblr media
Genre: Dark, angst, songfic Pairing: Hyuk-centric Word Count: 1.2K Summary: Sent to his room for bedtime, darkness fills the makneas mind, filling his every thought with hatred so strong that it can't be controlled. This is his inner darkness ranting Trigger Warning: graphic depictions of violence, depressing and dark thoughts, homicidal tendencies. Please mind the warning. It contains triggering content. Hyuk is not a nice person in this fic.
Tumblr media
*Hyuk’s POV*
Thunder sounded in the distance, the rain pounding against the windows of the dorm. Even in this gloomy weather, the hyungs were having fun. But not me. I was sent to my room, to finish up my homework and get to bed early. I had school in the morning. Damn them all. How do they expect me to go to bed when they’re causing such a ruckus.
‘New generation is back.
Yeah we killin’ this track right now
We started from the bottom.
We just do it now, ah. Just follow
There’s no way I said those words
There’s no way I said I would leave you
Girl, please believe the me of right now
(There is a crazy person inside of me)
Oh how do I explain this?
You’ll probably think it’s all an excuse
Girl, I’m the not same me as yesterday
(There is a crazy person inside)’
Peeking out of the room, I watched silently. God how I hate every one of them. There is a list of things that I can name off, but who could I possibly start with? Why not with Leo hyung? Look at him, just sitting there all silent, watching them carefully. He acts like he’s so cool, but he’s not. The fans don’t know the real Jung Taekwoon, not like we do. And he’s just
.just ugh!
He’s too sweet, too nice! And mean too. He’s a big bully most of the time. It’s like walking on eggshells around him. You never know which version of him you get. And he’s never nice to me. He always ignores me, even when I need help. He just sits there and stares.
‘Don’t leave (leave me)
I love you (no I hate you)
I am both Jekyll and Hyde, don’t run away from me
I’m not a bad person, I love you
Don’t give me those scared eyes
There is a different person that’s not me inside of me
There’s a different me that’s not me inside of me
Just can’t control (x4)’
At least Wonshik hyung would help me. Not that he’s much of help. He’s about as dumb as a box of rocks. He thinks he’s all that, writing all our lyrics to our songs, making up his own raps. Rapper, please! I’m a better rapper than him and I make my shit up on the fly. I don’t understand why he was picked. I think our CEO picked him because of his abs.
‘There’s no way I said those harsh words
There’s no way I hurt you
Girl please believe me, who’s in front of your eyes
(There is a crazy person inside of me)
I only know you alone (that’s all a lie)
You know me (no, you don’t know)
I am both Jekyll and Hyde, don’t run away from me
I’m not a bad person, I love you
Don’t give me those scared eyes
There is a different person that’s not me inside of me
There’s a different me that’s not me inside of me’
And then there’s Hongbin hyung. God, that smile. So wide, so bright. Sometimes I just want to rip it right off his face! How can someone be so damn perfect? His voice is beautiful, his dancing is great and his visuals
.god I hate him so much! And he was the one who liked me the least from the start. He’d rather hang out and spend time with Ravi all day.
What’s up with that? I know I’m young, but still! It’s not like I don’t want to make friends with them. I want to! I want to be best friends with them, but I know, in their eyes, I’m just the silly little maknae. Jaehwan hyung calls me that all the damn time.
“Oh Hyuk, you’re such a silly little maknae.” What the fuck does that suppose to mean? You think because I’m young I don’t understand what you’re talking about?! I’m a guy, I live in this century, I know what you’re talking about, include me! Jaehwan hyung is so funny, always pulling jokes. But if the jokes are too dirty, they never get said around me.
The thunder was so loud now! I can’t tell if it’s from the storm anymore, or if it’s in my head. Honestly, I don’t care. There is still one left, the male that holds the most of my hatred; Cha Hakyeon.
‘The devil you saw last night was not me
Actually, I don’t really remember myself, I think I’m crazy
I try to block myself but as I saw myself jumping around, I knew I was sick
I need a remedy called you, come inside of my body
A different person that’s not me has been caught inside of me’
That wannabe maknae is such a blubbering idiot that it’s not even funny. Always trying to act cute, always trying to steal the attention away from others. Why can’t he act his damn age?! And then he acts like such a mother. A mother that wants to smother her children. He’s so annoying. If he’s not picking on Leo, he’s picking on someone else, searching until someone responds and unfortunately it’s usually me. He never gets the hint either.
There have just been days when I’ve wanted to take a pen and stab him in the eye to make him go away, or staple his mouth shut to make him be quiet. But I don’t think even staples could keep him quiet.
‘Only you know me, you are my last
I’m scared of myself if you leave me
There’s a different me that’s not me inside of me
I’m not a bad person, I love you
Don’t give me those scared eyes
There is a different person that’s not me inside of me
He’s trying to hurt me
There’s a different me that’s not me inside of me’
Sometimes...I just want to take a knife and slid it across that tan neck of his, blemishing his precious dark skin and silence him forever. Peace...silence. It would be so golden. So...so golden. I can smell the blood, see it dripping from the blade. Yes
.silence
.
“Hyuk, it’s time for bed.”
‘Just can’t control Just can’t control Just can’t control Just can’t control Just can’t control Just can’t control Just can’t control’
Looking up, my head cleared of the fog that suddenly clouded it. Those were such deep, dark thoughts. Especially the ones about N hyung. They scared me, they always scare me.
“Oh right. Sorry N hyung, but you guys are a little loud. Do you think you can quiet down a bit?” I asked softly.
“Oh, I’m sorry Hyuk. Sure, we’ll be quieter. Now, off to bed with you.” N said and pushed me back into the room. I smiled at him and nodded, waving. “Good night Hyuk.”
“Good night N hyung.” I said. And as the door closed, those dark, evil thoughts filled my head again, horrible images filling it. Blood, blood everywhere, and finally silence. I would finally have solitude. I could be alone, left in the darkness.
There’s someone inside of me that isn’t me. And I can’t control it. These thoughts, they never leave my head. Why
.why?
‘Just can’t control’

An NxLeo one shot. Here is the first part.
Originally posted on AO3 and AFF.
Here's the first part
[Maybe I'm Jealous!]
Pairing: Neo, Hyukbin, Raken
Taekwoon put his luggage down and breathed in the air of Korea, a smile finding its way to his lips. Wonsik was beside him in a moment, and he too started smiling. They haven’t been away from Korea for too long, and they didn’t hate Japan, but Korea was their home country. It was where they truly belonged. Also, they had missed their lovers terribly, so the idea of finally getting back home was more than appealing.
A few minutes later, one of the managers came and picked them up. Wonsik fell asleep the moment he got comfortable in his seat, his snores filling the small space of the van. Taekwoon was also tired, but he was too excited to sleep. He kept thinking about Hakyeon, his voice, his laughter, his bright smile that could light up Taekwoon's world. Everything about Hakyeon was perfect in Taekwoon's eyes, and he had missed this perfection terribly.
Both men were mildly disappointed to find the dorm empty, all the other four probably somewhere on their own schedules. But looking at the bright side, they had some time to tidy up a bit and be decently prepared to greet their loved ones.
It wasn’t till 5 hours later, at 9 in the afternoon, that the members started coming back one after another. By that time, Wonsik and Taekwoon had taken showers, unpacked their bags and had a light meal. By the time Sanghyuk entered the dorm, Wonsik was dozing off again, and Taekwoon was looking at the TV without actually watching the show that was on.
"Oh, hyungs, you're back!" the maknae exclaimed loudly and grinned. Taekwoon just nodded and smiled at him. He had missed the cute giant, too. But it couldn’t be compared to how much he was craving Hakyeon right now. Sanghyuk looked at Wonsik's sleeping figure and shook his head before heading to his and Hongbin's shared bedroom.
Jaehwan was the second to arrive at the dorm, completely ignoring Taekwoon and almost flying to get to Wonsik. Taekwoon rolled his eyes at that. Wonsik, as if waiting for Jaehwan's arrival even in his sleep, woke up with the first touch of Jaehwan, and then they were embracing like there's no tomorrow. Taekwoon looked at them for a few seconds, and he thought he heard a small sob escape Wonsik's mouth. Geez, that sappy man. Taekwoon sucked his upper teeth and then got up and retreated to his and Hakyeon's bedroom, giving the lovebirds some time together.
He sat on the bed and stuffed his ears with his headphones after hearing the faint sound of kisses coming from the living room. It was not that he was severely disgusted by it, rather, he was getting more and more impatient by the second to see his own lover.
An hour or so passed before finally the door was opened, and in came the object of Taekwoon's affection. Taekwoon's face broke into an uncontrollable grin, the earpieces were thrown on the bed in a blink, and he was in front of Hakyeon before he knew what he was doing. But right before his arms went to encircle the tanned male's smaller body, he froze. The expression on Hakyeon's face was something he'd rarely seen, only when he was truly mad at one of the members, and everybody in VIXX knew that they should avoid Hakyeon in this state if they wanted to survive. But why was Hakyeon looking at him like that?
Taekwoon's arms were hanging in the air awkwardly, but he didn’t dare to put them around Hakyeon for now, so he lightly went for Hakyeon's biceps.
"H-hey Hakyeon
" his voice came out softer than he intended, and he mentally cursed himself for stuttering. Hakyeon's gaze on his face didn’t waver, and Taekwoon had to swallow before speaking once again.
"I missed you so mu-" Taekwoon was cut off midsentence when Hakyeon harshly pulled his arms back, successfully untangling Taekwoon's fingers from his body.
"Okay, I get it. Now step aside, I need to take a shower." Hakyeon's voice was cold and emotionless, almost robotic. Taekwoon bit his lower lip and stepped back wordlessly. Hakyeon left him just like that, and Taekwoon fell asleep while sniffling Hakyeon's pillow and trying not to let the tears out.

The giant goes to rest. More than two years, 130 000 words and many screams and tears since its start, Lavender Jade is complete.
Let me start off by thanking you all for supporting this fic! When I started I had no idea it was going to receive the love it has. Before Lavender Jade I was known for more overall lighthearted works (Mint and Poppy in the Monsta X fandom, Stray Romance for ASTRO). All your constant love and support has been a huge help. Thank you so much! Words cannot describe the joy your comments and messages gave me ♡
I’ve made so many amazing friends and spoken to so many beautiful people because of this work, but this fic is dedicated to Monsta X ♡
Okay, enough sappiness! Time to move on to the trivia and extras. This is my 4th trivia post (you can find Mint and Poppy here; Stray Romance here; Wrong (Right) Number here) and longest yet, so it’s in 3 parts:
basic tidbits/extra info
regarding the vei, the card divination system
some personal rambling regarding my character motives (entirely skippable)
If it’s not obvious, there are going to be major spoilers, so if you haven’t read the fic yet but plan to do so, I advise not reading this ^^
If you need, you can always reference the character list here
Okay, so let’s get started! Rest of the post is under the cut
1. Basic Trivia
Most of the extras in the fic were original characters this time, with a few exceptions. Even these exceptions are not exactly based on the idols they’re named after, but I imagined them while writing. These are:
Sojung, Jooheon’s bodyguard - WJSN’s Exy
Sewoon, Kihyun’s manservant - soloist Jeong Sewoon
Seungwoo, another of Kihyun’s servants - soloist Yoo Seungwoo
Dawon, Hyunjung, Jiyeon, Luda, Soobin, Juyeon, the girls mentioned as being part of Jooheon’s people in Eigak - WJSN’s Dawon, Seola, Bona, Luda, Soobin, Eunseo
Along with the ones living, there were those who lived in the past. Mentioned in-text:
Hoseok II, a previous king of Yishin - BTS’ J-Hope
Seokjin, a consort to Hoseok II - BTS’ Jin
Kim Namjoon, prime minister of Hoseok II - BTS’ RM
Hakyeon, the first king of Yishin - VIXX’s N
And those referenced only in the snippets in the chapter summaries:
Jungsoo, a previous king of Yishin - Super Junior’s Leeteuk
Kyuhyun, a historian - Super Junior’s Kyuhyun
Yoongi, a consort to Hoseok II - BTS’ Suga
Taekwoon, high prince to Hakyeon - VIXX’s Leo
For some reason which I still cannot fathom, I’ve been praised for the worldbuilding in this fic. The capital city of Yishin doesn’t even have a name.
The basic geography of the peninsula is Yishin, Eigak to her east, a number of tiny states to her west, the sea to her south. The western side of Yishin is more fertile. The stretch of border between Yishin and Eigak is a rocky wasteland.
Yishin was named as a mix of Wonho’s two surnames: Lee and Shin
The concept of snippets from literature and media from the universe as chapter summaries was inspired by Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen saga. The vei deck (more on it later) was also very heavily inspired by his Deck of Dragons in the same books.
A lot of fics focus on Hyungwon’s looks (something I’m guilty of as well) so I wanted to write a world where he wasn’t considered handsome. I understand why all the shows set in alternate worlds have the same beauty standards as us—it makes for prettier TV—but I decided to set a different one for the world of Lavender Jade. Somewhat arbitrarily, we have:
considered very handsome -  Hoseok, Minhyuk, Changkyun
considered somewhat handsome - Kihyun
considered plain/regular - Hyunwoo, Hyungwon, Jooheon
Han Jehan, obviously, also falls in category 1.
Han Jehan was my first time writing a proper villain in my fics, and I don’t know how well I succeeded but I enjoyed it immensely. I went out of my way to add all the traits I like so that I wouldn’t end up hating him, even going so far as to give him the surname of one of my favourite idols (sorry Hyuk).
There are two main things I’d change in the fic if I could turn back time:
tighten up the front end. I’d combine the first couple of chapters
Yeon Hu would be a woman. By the time I realized the awesome power of a badass lady general, it was too late
All court members—Jo Senmi, Yeon Hu, etc—are original characters. They’re both basic archetypes you’ll find in sageuk dramas. I think it’s worth mentioning both of them really do love Yishin, they just had very different, more conservative ideas of what would be best for the country.
I’d thought of using all the proper Korean names for the clothes especially, but decided that would make things difficult to read and binned the idea.
The opening note says the world is inspired by the Joseon dynasty. Regarding the initiatives to improve people’s lives, yes, but the hall/court system is more inspired by (what I know of) the Goryeo dynasty system.
I’ve been asked this before, but I’ll answer it here again: I’d never finished a sageuk drama before Flower Crew (very recently, and only because I was watching it with my sisters), and definitely not while I was planning this fic. Don’t judge me. The one I would recommend is Six Flying Dragons, most like Lavender Jade in tone. The others I’ve made headway into are Moonlight Drawn by the Clouds, Ruler: Master of the Mask, and The King and the Clown.
I’m surprised no one brought up the foreshadowing I did near the end of chapter 16. Seven stars, two possible fates. The final fate of the two lovers (Kihyun and Changkyun) turned out to be a mix of the two stories: there was a fire, and the heavenly king was pulled from heaven (Kihyun from his position) to live the rest of his life with his lover.
Unlike my other secret couple (myungjin in Stray Romance) there are no hints of Hyunwoo and Minhyuk. They never did anything that would show. Minhyuk attempts to fluster Hyunwoo, but he does that with everyone.
Changkyun’s final card from the reading in chapter 8 is the two of Knives. It means a sacrifice.
My favorite parts of the fic to write were Kihyun’s various descriptions of Changkyun’s beauty :)
This is, undoubtedly, the fic that has required the most work from me. I will say the most difficult scenes to write were Minhyuk’s fight with the assassin and Hyunwoo’s with Kim Sungil. Action scenes are not my forte.
If you don’t know, I have written a romantic one-shot set in the same universe, titled Only One
2. The Vei
I don’t know how obvious this was, but the entire vei deck concept was inspired by and based on VIXX. The idea itself came from the Deck of Dragons in Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen saga.
There are 84 cards in the deck: 72 cards in six suits, and 12 Unaligned. The Unaligned can be paired off, where each card is the opposite of its pair (with the exception of the last pair). The Unaligned cards are:
Fountain and Grave - a beginning and an ending
The Open Hand and The Closed Hand - generosity and miserliness
The Lord and The Lady - bad luck and good luck
The Centaur and The Fox - someone proud and someone crafty
Magnolia and Crown of Thorns - misery in success and happiness in failure
Pyramid and Mirror - stability/instability and karmic justice/unfairness
The six suits, along with the member they represent, are:
Stars - N
Rings - Leo
Shells - Ken
Scrolls - Ravi
Flowers - Hongbin
Knives - Hyuk
Each suit, like our playing cards, has a king, queen, and knight (jack). The king of each suit is based on a VIXX member, and has some particular qualities along with being very rare. All visual cues for the kings come from VIXX’s masterpiece MV, Shangri-La.
Stars - King: the Emperor, Queen: Sloth, Knight: the Page. The Emperor is the rarest card in the deck, and is represented by a crowned man with no features, only darkness in place of a face. The Page is the icon of diligence (and was in Minhyuk’s hand in chapter X). The theme of the suit is mystic fates, technically the uncategorized cards. In the natural half of the deck.
Rings - King: Death, Queen: Envy, Knight: the Messenger. Death is a card of finality (like Grave). The theme of the suit is secrets. In the manmade half of the deck.
Shells - King: Life, Queen: Gluttony, Knight: the Fool. Life is a card of possibilities. The Fool denotes absolute luck--essentially the card of negation. The theme of the suit is environment. In the natural half of the deck.
Scrolls - King: the Mage, Queen: Greed, Knight: the Apprentice. The Mage is a figure of knowledge and learning. The theme of the suit is motivations. In the manmade half of the deck.
Flowers - King: the Elf, Queen: Lust, Knight: the Handmaid. The Elf is an elusive, hidden figure with hidden motives. The theme of the suit is happiness. In the natural half of the deck.
Knives - King: War, Queen: Wrath, Knight: the General. War is a decisive figure, one who brings final consequences. The them of the suit is decisions. In the manmade half of the deck.
I’ve been asked about the game played with the vei deck as well. It is a game of my own invention, yes. It’s based on trick-taking games like Hearts, where the object is to win the least cards as possible. It’s played in alternating rounds, one where the Unaligned are not used, the next where they are. I didn’t hash out the details beyond some basic motifs, but it is technically playable. Only if you have a vei deck though. The whole gameplay hinges on the fact that some cards are less likely to appear when picked from the stacked deck.
I’ve heard from more than one person that I got them into tarot as a hobby. That’s great! But the truth is I know next to nothing about tarot haha
3. Rambling
I might suggest skipping this. This adds 0 value to the post and fic aside from giving me a space to ramble and whoa it turned out long
First: King Hoseok. He’s copped a fair share of criticism in this fic regarding his passiveness and his acceptance of the unfair consort system. I will defend my handling of this character to the ends of the Earth. I’m not saying he’s perfect (obviously! the only character that comes close to that is Hyunwoo) but I think he did right by what he had.
A neat indication would be to flip back to chapter 14, the Hyungwon POV chapter. When Hoseok says that the two of them are alone even though the room is filled with servants, Hyungwon forgives it as a result of his upbringing. He’s undoubtedly biased, but he has a point. Hoseok was raised as king. Certain things that are so obvious to others don’t even register to him. The consort system, where they have to swear loyalty to him but he doesn’t to them? He was raised as seeing this as normal. They all were. He never even fathoms a consort would want to leave their position. When Kihyun tells him the truth about the affair, Hoseok is stunned. He doesn’t understand Hyungwon calling his old life of poverty a life of freedom.
Basically, Hoseok is just trying his best after being raised (and still living) in a life of absolute privilege. He expects loyalty, love, because he hasn’t been exposed to anything different. His situation is completely different from Jooheon’s, who’s grown up in a much more volatile situation. Jooheon had to learn early on to really open his eyes, to listen, and he’s much more observant and understanding. By the end of the fic Hoseok’s had a wakeup call, and he’s going to get better.
Second: the consort system. Yes, it’s cruel. It wasn’t what Hakyeon had envisioned when he had his companions instated formally. But in Yishin this is the norm. No one thinks it cruel. It’s a position of huge honor (Kihyun thinks of it a few times).
Even though there’s no homophobia, misogyny etc, Yishin is a conservative society. They haven’t had a change of regime in 23 generations. They’re used to the norm, and consortship is the norm. Also, if you look at most conservative societies, you’ll see romantic love isn’t considered a prerequisite for marriage (which is kind of what consortship is). In many societies (including my own) many people would jump at a chance for consortship, no matter their relationship with the monarch.
Third: the fic had a lot of subversion of typical historical expectations and standards. I still consider myself primarily a fantasy writer. Typical fantasy and historical works have a strong focus on honor, dignity, truth and justice and all those values.
Lavender Jade does not. Kihyun and Changkyun are oathbreakers, they are traitors (by Yishini law). Every insult flung at them is true. The king breaks his country’s laws to help them escape their deserved punishment. Even Hyunwoo, the honorable and admirable commandant, defeats Kim Sungil using an underhanded move, and gets his happy ending with another consort breaking his oath.
At times I seriously considered ending this as a tragedy. It felt fair. Kihyun and Changkyun had broken laws, broken promises. All that happened did as a result of their own actions (even Han Jehan’s targeting of Kihyun was, from what we see, brought about by Kihyun digging into his affairs). A sad ending would be deserved. But then I thought, hmm, why? Why should it be fair? Why should they be miserable because it is deserved?
So we got the ending we got, and I hope you’re all happy. I know I am.
Thank you for reading to the end of this (unnecessarily) long post! It’s almost as long as the fic itself haha If you have any questions or messages you can shoot me an ask or pm here, or on my Twitter or on CuriousCat ^^
So what’s next? I’m writing Wrong (Right) ID, an epistolary fic for ASTRO in the same style as Wrong (Right) Number, and A Match Made in Heaven, my VIXX karma officer fic (it’s an unusual concept! you should try it). Both fics will end soon, maybe even before the end of the year, so you won’t have to bear much waiting ^^;;
I’m also writing Blood, Water, a vampire fic with a strong emphasis on family for ATEEZ, so you can check that out too! This one’s going to be long and angsty and quite self indulgent ^^
I’ve been asked if I’m going to continue writing in this universe. The answer is, yes. I will be writing White Carnation, the book referenced in multiple chapters of this fic, as a novella. I might write a short story on how Hoseok and Hyungwon met, but that’s undecided. I’ve hashed out ideas for side stories involving VIXX (and the founding of Yishin) and ATEEZ (and the change of regimes in Eigak) in this CuriousCat ask and this Twitter thread, but those will probably only remain as threads ^^;;
And in the future? I have Monsta X one shots planned, and perhaps another long fic too. All possibilities are open! I hope you’ll stay with me for them ♡
Again, and as always, thank you. I hope you enjoyed Lavender Jade ♡

Proposal [Wonshik, Hongbin, and Sanghyuk]
Enjoy~
Wonshik
Tumblr media
Wonshik could do a lot of things, but trying to plan the perfect way to propose to his girlfriend, Deja, was not one of those things. He recruited the members of VIXX to help him plan and execute the perfect proposal. Each member was given a task and Wonshik’s was to go ring hunting with Deja’s best friend and his band member, Hongbin. He was also in charge of the song writing and composing just for him to play the day of the proposal.
As the day approached, Wonshik felt a gnawing fear begin to surface. What is Deja said no? What if she gets scared of the sudden proposal and breaks it off and his heart along with it? What if she realizes she deserved better than he could ever offer? It was ultimately a heart-to-heart with Hakyeon and Hongbin that eventually helped his bound nerves relax.
It was the big day and Wonshik spent it out and about with Deja. He took her to spots where they first met, where he first asked her out, to the time he chased after her after an argument, and more. They reminisced, their intertwined finger never once parting as they walked the areas. He lead her through Seoul as the day carried on as if they were just on another date.
That evening, they went home to dress up in formal attire. When Wonshik saw Deja begin down the stairs of their shared home, he couldn’t stop staring.
Her dress, hand picked by Hakyeon and Jaehwan, fit her like a glove. Deja did up her hair in an intricate bun. She wore the diamond earrings and necklace that Hyuk picked out for her that would match her engagement ring. She grew nervous under his gaze and she shifted in her spot, “Is it not good?”
Wonshik shook his head, “No
You look phenomenal. I forgot how to breathe for a second there.”
She flashed him one of her bright smiles as she reached up to brush her imaginary hair back, “You don’t look too bad yourself.”
Wonshik held out his arm and she looped hers with his as he led her out to the car. Taekwoon was in charge of the driving as Wonshik didn’t want anything to be ruined for this night.
At the restaurant, the two clicked drinks, “Do you like this place?”
Deja took a sip of her wine, “It’s beautiful here.” She looked around, “I’ve never been somewhere this fancy. I feel so out of place.”
“Your beauty outshines this place any day” he complimented and earned a blush from her.
Deja let out a breath, “What on earth did I do to deserve such amazing treatment? I feel like a queen.” She let out a low giggle.
“You’re my queen. You only deserve the best.”
Deja stared at him, “You always had such a way with words.”
He reached over and took her hand in her, “Only when it comes to you.” The music that played in the background changed, the volume was louder than the previous song, and the people around them fell quiet as they looked around curiously. “ Deja, you know I love everything about you.”
“I know
Otherwise I’d definitely have to question what we’ve been doing these last several years together” she smiled. Her ears perked when Wonshik’s voice played over the speakers. She knew his rap anywhere even when it sounded as smooth and emotional as the song, “What song is this? I’ve never heard it
” She was surprised. Deja was pretty well informed with all of Wonshik’s songs.
Wonshik chuckled, “It’s new. It’s called The Proposal.” Her lipped parted slightly as she mouthed oh not thinking a thing of it. “We’ve been through a lot in four years and I couldn’t ask for a better half than you. I always worry you’ll find better and leave me. Or you’ll get sick of waiting around for me” Deja frowned at his word and was about to protest, but he shook his head. “Maybe there is someone better for you than me. Even if that were the case, I would fight for you to prove just how much we belong together.”
Deja didn’t understand where he was getting at until she watched him pull out a ring box from his suit pocket. “Wonshik
”
Wonshik moved off his chair and knelt beside Deja. He opened the box and she let out a gasped when she saw the beautiful ring, “Will you marry me?”
“Yes
” She replied breathlessly, “Is that even a real question?” She sniffled. She watched Wonshik slip the ring on her finger. Deja jumped from her seat just as Wonshik stood and hugged him tightly. “I love you.”
“I love you more, my queen.” The song continued to play in the background as the guests around them applauded them. She pulled away and Wonshik wiped her tears, “You gotta stop crying soon or your make up will get messed up. We haven’t even had desert.”
She let out a sniffled laugh, “Who’s fault do you think it is that I’m like this.” He pressed his lips to her in a loving kiss uncaring of all those who watched.
Hongbin
Tumblr media
Hongbin bought the engagement ring, but he had no plans when he would propose to her. He knew it would be sometime soon, so he kept it hidden in his nightstand in their shared home. He didn’t want to do something too crazy as it was something that his girlfriend, Hyemin, had talked about. They had discussed marriage and ideal proposals where it came up that Hyemin wanted something lax. She didn’t want something public or over and above.
He was home back from tour. He was relaxing in the living room with Hyemin after she made them breakfast. She was in his arms and he combed his fingers through her hair. “Hey love?” She looked back at him with her hands curled around her coffee mug. “You want to head out to the park or something? Just to get out of the house for a bit?”
Hyemin smiled into the coffee before she pulled it back, “Can I wear one of your shirts?”
He took the mug from her hands and pecked her lips, “Wear whatever you like. Minus the things I need to clean.” When he broke the quick kiss, she gave him another quick kiss and got up. “Can you get my wallet?” He called out to her. He hadn’t planned to change out of the sweats and sweater, so he hung around in the living room.
“Sure!” She rummaged through his dresser and his side of the closet to find a pair of sweats and a sweater. After she got changed, she looked for his wallet. She didn’t see it on his nightstand, so she opened the drawer where she found his walled and the ring box. Hyemin took out the wallet and the ring box curiously. “Hey babe?”
“Yea?”
She walked in with the ring box in her hand, “What’s this for?”
He laughed as he waved her over as he figured he might as well just get the proposal over with. Hongbin pulled Hyemin on his lap as he hugged her and took the ring box. “I was planning to eventually ask you to marry me. Guess now is the perfect time, huh?” Hyemin stared down at the ring box speechless as he opened the ring box and took out the ring. “Will you marry me?” He whispered in her ear.
She smiled widely as she nodded and she watched him slip the ring on her finger, “I love you, Hongbin.”
Hongbin kissed her temple and took her chin in his fingers. He turned her head and gave her a kiss, “I love you too.”
Hyemin got up nearly jumping in her spot, “Now, fiance, let’s go for a walk!”
Hongbin grinned and stood up. “Let’s go” he intertwined his fingers with hers and lead her out after they slipped on their shoes. Even during the walk, Hyemin’s  eyes were trained on her engagement ring which only made Hongbin smile more.

Hyuk and Chaeyeon went public three years into their five year relationship. It wasn’t abnormal for many of his interviews to stray to Chaeyeon and their relationship. Many by the fourth year focused on them settling and getting married which Hyuk openly expressed his desire to eventually marry Chaeyeon. By year five, he felt more motivated than ever to marry Chaeyeon. She was the only one he wanted to be with, the only one he needed to be with. Since the fans knew about her, he wanted to make it public, but also leave it more intimate as he knew Chaeyeon would freeze on the spot with all the attention on her.
He was graced by lady luck as he was offered an interview on a radio station and he refused to pass it up. It was a perfect plan. He could propose in a public setting, still maintain an intimate surrounding, and get a fiancee out of it without having to do a lot of setting up.
Chaeyeon was with the techs and Hakyeon, who insisted on accompanying them to the studio, while the host and Hyuk sat beside each other. Hyuk answered many questions before the music cut in and the host told him about the second round of questions
the questions solely focused on his relationship with Chaeyeon. His eyes fluttered up and looked through the glass at Chaeyeon who was wide eyed in wonder as the techs explained the equipment. Hyuk watched her lovingly as he let out a soft chuckle and he shook his head. He looked at Hakyeon, he gave Hyuk a thumbs up, and flashed the ring box before he stashed it back in his pocket.
Hyuk was nearing the end of the questioning when the host asked the last question, “Our final question for you Hyuk
The fans want to know, when are you tying the knot?”
Hyuk shrugged, “I’m not sure. I have to propose first.”
The two laughed, “Do you have a plan? Will you plan something special?”
“I would do something over the top, but Chaeyeon has never been one to be the center of attention” he looked up at Chaeyeon who formed her hands into a heart near her chest. He smiled, “But, I do have a plan and she’ll already know it’s coming.”
“Oh how so?”
“There is only one song from my group that she loves called Heaven. I plan to play it so she knows I’m going to ask her to marry me” the host cooed. “She hates surprises, so I have to make sure I plan it out perfectly. I can’t startle her too much, you know?” Chaeyeon rolled her eyes at his words.
The host clapped his hands together, “Is there a song you want to play for the fans before you leave, Hyuk?”
Hyuk nodded as he looked for the track on the computer, “Yea, this one. Hope you guys enjoy it!” The DJ chuckled when he saw the track and he played it.
Before the song played, Hakyeon held out the ring box to Chaeyeon and she took it hesitantly. Then seconds later, Hakyeon pulled out his phone and stepped back to record. She looked around in confusion as the techs ushered her to open it. The song Hyuk spoke of, Heaven, echoed in the studio. Her eyes blurred as she pressed her knuckles under her nose.
Hyuk walked up to her and took the box from her hands, “You haven’t even opened it and you’re already crying.” He flipped the lid to show a glistening ring. “Making you happy has brought me more joy than I thought possible. I want to spend the rest of my life bringing a smile to your face. Choi Chaeyeon, will you do me the honors of becoming my wife?”
“Yes
YES! Of course!” She cried. He laughed at her three answers and slipped the ring on her finger. She threw her arms around him, “I love you, Sanghyuk.”
His hands tightened around her back, “I love you, Chaeyeon.”

Being the brazen, fearless girl everyone always took you for Hakyeon knew you wouldn’t be intimidated by his folks or the way his friends shook their heads. As long as you love each other... Right?

“I told you to secure him properly, he’s a slippery bastard with too much information on us!” Hongbin exclaimed, letting off a string of profanities at the two men before him. “How did this happen?!”
Jaehwan glanced at his comrade, Wonshik returning the gesture before both looked ahead, their guilty expressions the only thing they offered up to their boss. Hongbin kicked them both in the leg, grumbling that if he wanted something done right, he should have done it himself. After Hongbin left, Jaehwan slumped against the wall, shooting an accusing finger in the direction of Wonshik. “This is your fault!”
“Mine?!” he echoed, shaking his head repeatedly. “I told you to watch him. That Hyuk kid is more clever than he looks!”
“He seemed nice!” Jaehwan admitted with a pout, rubbing his neck awkwardly. Perhaps he should shoulder more of the blame. “He told me that he was going to teach me all about the way he cracks open the safes he robs.”
“And you believed him?!”
“It was you who decided to leave me alone with him so you could eat!”
Wonshik groaned. “I was hungry and I didn’t think a suspect who was securely cuffed would escape!”
“I was hungry too, you didn’t even think about me!” Jaehwan wailed and folded his arms across his chest petulantly.
“Are you both done?” the other voice in the room finally questioned, quiet yet authoritative. Taekwoon sighed heavily. “Idiots, I’m surrounded by them. I wish Hakyeon was here. Then I wouldn’t be left on baby-sitting duties all the time.”
Both men sneered at the remark, and Taekwoon rolled his eyes, getting up. “Well, are you just going to sit there? Hyuk can’t have gotten too far. If one of you catch him before Hongbin does, he’ll probably reward you.”
The two men looked at each other before rushing for the door, grappling to open it before the other. When they were out of the room, Taekwoon smirked, pulling out his phone and sending a text message to who he truly worked with.
“Nice work for once, Hyuk.”
