Nightmares That Come True (Part 2) - Bucky Imagine
(D/O/B) - Date of Birth
~2 years later~
I woke up in the same cell like room, I was placed in shortly after arriving in my own personal form of hell. I was an agent for HYDRA, and we were going to make a difference in the world. I didn't exactly know what that difference was...but according to my father it was going to be one worth fighting for.
My father. John Garrett.
He had requested I call him that because he had so easily taken me under his wing and taught me all there is to know about hand-to-hand combat.
Everyday was met with new challenges, and brutal training. It was almost as though everyone here hated me for one reason or another. Constant insults and physical abuse were thrown my way. I have learned over time to trust no one, and love was a feeling created by those who weren't completely sane.
Some part of me wonders why every two-to-three weeks, every memory I have gets fuzzy and a migraine is joined along with it. I tried to ask father, but he tells me I ask to many questions, and girls who do get punished.
Of course, I knew first hand what punishments would occur. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that SHEILD must be destroyed.
3rd Person POV
There is a small brass rectangle with black writing dancing across the shiny surface located near a small office used for little over a year. And on that small sign a name is written, along with a date of birth... and a date of death.
Agent (Y/F/N) (Y/L/N)
(D/O/B) - July 30, 2016
To many agents of SHEILD this small reminder of a life that was lost means nothing. But to all of the Avengers, and some of the agents she had trained with, that little reminder was enough to bring tears to their eyes.
She had found a place where she belonged, her parents of both supported her new found passion and were proud of her for fighting for a cause that would save so many. If only they had known this passion would've taken their child away from them.
Every time an agent passed the room with the tiny marker of her existence, they would take the time, no matter how busy, and place a small kiss onto their fingers and rest it on the cool metal. It had become a ritual, or even a superstition for some, to make this small gesture.
The fallen's boyfriend hadn't completed this ritual once. Hell, Bucky hadn't even been down that hall since the day he had lost her. He knew now how Steve felt when he hadn't been able to save his best friend from falling, because he had watched her do the same.
All of the Avengers loved her like family, and the hardest thing they had done in a long while was trying to move on and witness just how easily it could've been them on the mission. All of them thought about how much they would've traded places with Y/N in a heartbeat.
They never found a body to bury, so am empty casket was placed in the ground. At least if a body had been put to rest, than maybe the weary minds of SHEILD would've been able to rest also. There was a lingering feeling that you were out there somewhere. And you were.
Your POV
Today was the day.
I stood in front of the full body mirror in my small closet of a room. I was looking closely at almost every inch of my face. From the tiny speckles of gold residing in my irises, to the tiny scar above my eyebrow, no doubt from missions.
Father told me that the only way he would allow me to go on with this mission, like I had been so vigorously trained for, was if I agreed to his terms. So here I was admiring my hair and eye color for the last time before it was to be changed. A knock rang out from the metal door only a few feet from my mirror, opened slightly, and a head poked inside.
"Your father is waiting for you Miss L/N."
I took one last look, and followed the guard out of the door, and down the maze of hallways. The room we entered was barely lit, and had a medical table in the middle.
I knew how these procedures worked. You would think a little hair dye and colored contacts wouldn't hurt so much. But from what my father had told me, he wanted it to be permanent.
"Good morning Y/N. If you would remove your clothing, and replace them with this gown." An accented voice spoke from behind me. I turned around and was met with a tall, rugged man holding out a white gown.
As soon a s the gown was in my hands, the man pointed to a small unfolded screen. I nodded and disappeared behind it.
I undressed and refreshes as quickly as I possibly could, in fear that there was a camera hidden somewhere. When I emerged two women in black scrubs were standing on either side of the table.
I honestly wanted to get this over as soon as possible, due to the amount of pain I knew was going to come. I used a stool to climb onto the table and laid down, it didn't talk long before wires and monitors were being connected to me.
One of the nurses was staring at my face, and was mumbling continuously. I wasn't able to make out what she was saying; it was almost as if her words weren't making their way to my ears.
All too soon, pain was over taking my mind, and my body. I began to realize something, before I had completely fallen into the darkness, this procedure wasn't to simply change my appearance. They were ensuring all of my memory was wiped.
As soon as that thought had crossed my mind, I passed out.
~•~•~•~
When my eyes finally opened, I was overwhelmed with a sense of hate. I ripped the wires out of my arms, and stood up. I walked to a mirror that wasn't in the room before.
When I looked into the mirror I noticed my hair was a deep purple, nearly black. My eye color had changed to a light lilac color.
I noticed the small scar above my eyebrow, and I remembered where it came from. It had been given to me by the enemy. I knew who that enemy was.
I wasn't sure why, exactly, but I couldn't take my eyes off of the scar. The longer I stared, the more memories we're associated with it. All of a sudden, like a wave had crashed I to my entire body, I remembered. I remembered why I was here. Why I had this scar in the first place.
It was them. HYDRA had done all of this.
The mission I never came home from. The fall, the screaming.
Bucky.
I knew then who this next mission was going to infiltrate.
SHEILD.
My realization was cut short by a small cough behind me. The reflection in the mirror showed the same nurse as before.
"How are you Miss L/N?"
I opened my mouth to answer, but I couldn't quite figure out what yo tell her.
"I am impressed by the hair co-" She cut me off, with a small knowing smile and a wink.
My eyes widened. She did this!?
"Shh, just do what's right." She didn't bother explaining what she meant by that, she just left. Looking to my left, I saw a black cat suit. It was then I noticed I was still wearing the white gown.
As I picked up the suit, a fresh pair of underwear were lying underneath it. I could feel my ears get the tiniest bit hot. I grabbed all of the garments and the boots on the ground under the small stool. I went behind the shade for a second time, and changed.
The suit was definetly skin tight, but it definetly made a statement. And I felt kinda bad ass in it with the new hair and eye color. I left the room in search of my 'father'. When I found him, he was lacing his black combat boots, looking up just ad I knocked lightly on the door frame.
"Y/N. Let me have a look at you." John made his way closer to me, and picked up a piece of my newly colored hair. It was extremely hard for me not to squirm or shy away from his touch. He just disgusted me.
"How are you feeling? Are you ready to fight? "
I looked him dead in the eyes. "I will always fight." The venom in my voice even scared me a little. John smirked evily, and we were off.
*Sorry for another time skip...*
The HYDRA helicarrier was packed full of agents. All of them wearing black with the infamous HYDRA symbol located somewhere on their persons. The closer we got to our destination, the more rambunctious everyone got.
When the aircraft touched down, everybody stood tall and proud. That is when the chanting started. I remember taking part in these chants happily less than two days ago. I knew this was something I had to do. One more time.
"Hail HYDRA! " I joined in.
With one final shout the doors were opened and off they were. John and I stayed behind. I was trained to only jump in when I was needed. As was John.
I could easily see that HYDRA was going down. They were no match for the pure power of twice as many SHEILD agents.
John nudged my side gently. I heard him mutter 'go'.
Without a second thought, I tore off into the mayhem that was before me. Blood of both HYDRA and SHEILD agents moistened the ground.
In order to properly gain the trust of SHIELD, I had to prove that I wasn't supporting HYDRA. This would definetly come as a challenge because I was in fact wearing the treacherous symbol of their enemy on my back. Literally.
I snuck up behind a woman, her black outfit was a consistent shade of onyx. All except for the small HYDRA watermark. She had a knife in her hand, and judging by her stance, she was ready to strike. I had never seen this woman before, so it didn't bother me much when I grabbed her head and twisted her neck into an awkward angle. Sure, it sounds morbid and almost inhumane, but I wanted to get home.
I didn't have complete recollection of my previous life, so I wasn't exactly sure what home was, but I was absolutely positive that it wasn't HYDRA.
When her body fell, I locked eyes with the good guy she was about to stab. His face paled, and he stood in the same spot with his mouth wide open. Almost as if he had seen a ghost.
I gave him a short nod, he took off quickly towards the line of SHEILD officials.
I continued on with killing those who had 'toughened me up' over the course of time I was trapped inside my own mind. I took out a few with their own weapons, some from behind and some came to me -believeing they could trust me.
HYDRA was down a great deal when I was grabbed from behind. A strong arm was holding my tightly by my neck, in some sort of choke-hold.
"Keep walking straight." John was the one holding me. An object was being pushed into my back, most likely a gun, right over the location of my spine. One wrong move and I was sure that I would remain paralyzed, if not dead.I obeyed and continued on straight, towards the SHEILD tent. I had to be careful that I didn't trip over the corpses that were dispersed along the field.
Every time I glanced down I was met with a new face of someone who I had once known; whether it be from my former life or the one I had been living.
The walk was definitely a long one. On the other hand, I knew the longer the walk, the longer I would probably survive. We stopped about 200 yards off of a tent with more than one room, no doubt belonging to SHEILD. John grabbed me roughly, and jerked me around to face him.
"You are a little traitor. You deserve nothing short of dead! But I am giving you one last chance. We are going to walk into that tent, and you are going to take every single one of those men out. If you fail to complete your order, I will kill you. You, and that little boyfriend of yours. Do I make myself clear? " I watched him, unable to speak. John took this as a sign of disrespect, so he raised his hand, and brought it down against the side of my face.
I already had blood, both my own and others, on my face; but the impact of his hand mixed with the ring he was wearing sent a rather large gash on my cheek.
I knew what I had to do, I had to keep Buck safe. Even if that meant giving myself up to years of torture for treachery.
I raised my head, and shook my head, signaling my approval. That smirk had et he'd itself onto John's face for easily the twentieth time today.
He pulled a rather large gun out of his side holster, and shoved it into my arms. He quickly spun me back around and shoved the barrel into my spine once again. I walked slower this time, I didn't want to kill the officials who had once given me a sense of pride. I had no choice, the love of my life was in danger.
I know what you are thinking. Bucky is a super soilder! That may be, but when you love someone you would do anything too keep them out of harms way. That's precisely what Bucky does. He would gladly hand himself over to HYDRA if he even thought I was there.
I have to do this to protect him.
The tent was right before my very eyes, I could reach out and touch it. There were shadows reflected onto the sides, and victorious voices reigning out into the air. I took a deep breath, and tried to compose myself.
I had to clear my head of all emotion, that is the only way this was going to work.
"It's your time to shine." A voice mocked softly into my right ear. With a blank face I walked to the entrance of the tent, gun hanging lowly by my side. It was that moment that I felt the small pistol resting on my own hip.
I kept my head low, and cleared my throat loudly. All chatter stopped, and I felt all eyes on me. Their stares we're like pins and needles all over my body. It was completely quiet until I raised my head. Audible gasps were heard, and I swore I heard someone mutter about 'Jerry was right'.
"Shut up! " I yelled rather loudly. The whispers ceased, and more people entered the front section of the tent. Without even bothering to glance in their direction, I raised my weapon and aimed it at a random agent.Cocking the gun slowly, I took a deep breath. I took this time to take in all the faces before me.
My eyes stopped when I saw a flash of metal. Looking closer I saw it was attached to somebody. Bucky.
Words began to flush my mind of all feeling momentarily. I will always fight. I will always fight for him. After all what good was this deal I made with John no more than 10 minutes ago, when Bucky was in the tent full of people I was to kill?
I placed my hand on the trigger, not once breaking the intense stare down I shared with Bucky. I reached for the gun on my hip and shot at John to my left. I heard a grunt of pain, and another gunshot. A crippling pain spread throughout my abdominal area. Glancing down a rather large bullet wound had made itself comfortable on the side closer to a quickly bleeding out John. I fell onto my knees, griping my side. I raised the larger gun towards John, and sent the ammo ripping through the air, landing in his cranium.
I dropped both guns, and gripped my side tightly. Tears were trailing down my cheeks, and blood was soaking my hands. Two firm hands on either side of my body, tightly grabbed my arms and hoisted me up.
At first I thought they we're helping me, until I felt my hands being bound behind my back. I was now a POW, or prisoner of war. That was the least of my concerns however, because I still had an angry bullet lodged into my rips. Shortly after being placed into handcuffs, the world began to fade away.
*Last time skip I swear*
Waking up, I was in a bright white room. A constant beep was filling me eardrums.
A dull pain turned sharp with every breath I dared to take. My eyelids were heavy, and almost refused to reveal the spheres beneath them.
I was holding something, but I didn't move my fingers and inch, in fear of what it might be.
After my sensitive eyes we're able to make sense of the pictures before them, I figured out that it was a hand I was holding.
His hand.
Relief washed over me, and I gripped his hand a little, never wanting to let go again.
Shortly after tightening my hold, a sleepy Bucky snapped his head up and with tears in his eyes brought his head closer to my hand. He was speaking soflty, and between each 'Thank God' and 'I Love You', a small kiss was placed on my fingers.
I was sure I still had hell to face, and a lot of explaining to do; I don't really care.
This is home.

9 Easy Ways to Increase Online Conversions
Tumblr media
So you’ve built a great website with professionally designed graphics, user-friendly navigation and compelling content. But instead of the steady stream of traffic and purchases you were expecting, you’re not even getting a trickle.
So what gives?
Too many entrepreneurs and small business owners have an “If you build it, they will come” mentality. They think that building something that looks nice is all they need to do to attract buyers.
The truth is that creating a website, no matter how visually appealing, isn’t even half the battle.
The hardest work comes after your site is up and running, when it’s time to market your product or service, engage potential customers and convert them into leads and sales.
Whether you’re struggling to get eyes on your offerings, build your list, or want to grow your sales, these tips will help you effectively utilize the best marketing tool you have: your website.
1. Look under the hood.
Is there something technically wrong? There are many wannabe developers out there who don’t understand what it takes to build a robust, responsive site.
Follow the path a customer would take from the time they land on your home page, throughout the whole buying process. There could be an error message when you try to put a certain product in your shopping cart, or a 404 page where your shipping and returns info should be.
Be sure to check your site on several different browsers and devices too, ensuring the responsiveness looks good everywhere and not just on the typical browser you use.
Checking your site speed is a good place to start. If a page takes forever to load, people aren’t going to wait around. Get insight into your site speed here.
2. Pay close attention to your headline.
The average web surfer who’s using a search engine visits approximately 25 sites in only 3-4 minutes. That’s not much time to grab someone’s attention.
To increase online conversions and grow your sales:
Avoid saying “Welcome to my website…” or other fluffy space-wasters. You don’t want to spend your precious seconds on words that don’t encourage visitors to take action.
Be short and sweet. Your headline is not the place to cram in every detail. Focus on 6-12 words that contain your target keywords to capture interest.
Get descriptive. Using a thesaurus is the perfect way to come up with some different ways of saying things that will tap into people’s emotions. Think beyond words like “good” and “great” and get your visitors excited.
3. Show people how your product or service will benefit them.
Don’t get caught up in explaining the mechanics of what you’re selling. Instead, answer the questions your visitors will have, such as: How will it change people’s lives for the better? Why do they need it?
Tap into your visitors’ pain points, and tell them the right story in a video, blog post, headline…
Here’s an example from one of my clients, the Financial Recovery Institute. Instead of telling people the course names or how she teaches, Karen describes the benefits they’ll get from taking Money Coach Training.
4. Inspire your visitors to take action.
Using tangible action verbs can help increase online conversions. Get your visitors excited about whatever it is you’re selling, and include a sense of urgency.
For example, instead of saying “Register Now” for a webinar, you could use “Save Your Seat Here”. Rather than “Get the course” for a program you teach, try something like “Start Learning Today”.
Create more enticing value propositions than simply “Buy it” or “Shop now” to motivate people to take advantage of your offer.
5. Have strong calls to action.
Whether it’s filling out an online form or clicking a button, tell your users what you want them to do next. Like your headline and body copy, your CTAs should be succinct and benefit-driven.
That said, don’t put CTAs everywhere in your body copy, thinking that more is better. You want one main call to action per page or “action” you want someone to take, not one stuffed into each paragraph of content.
6. Make it easy for visitors to give you info.
People don’t like filling out long forms to download an eBook or sign up for email newsletters. Popular digital marketing entrepreneur Neil Patel boosted his conversion rate on NeilPatel.com by 26% just by removing one form field.
To get more website leads, ask for what you want in as few fields as possible. We ask our visitors for only a name and email address before giving them our free Ultimate Guide on improving profitability and conversions.
7. Make the right visual impression.
It’s time to take stock of your stock photos, and to look long and hard at the images you’re using to represent your brand
Your visual brand should be consistent throughout all of your marketing materials, from your blog imagery to your email newsletter pics. Too many small business owners use tacky stock photos or low-quality images simply because they’re easy and available to them.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, and none of those words are going to be “leads” or “sales” if you don’t carefully choose the imagery that’s representing your brand.
And please, speaking of stock photos – never, whether on your website, in social media or your newsletters, use a stock photo that hasn’t been purchased and still has the watermark on it. Not only is this very unprofessional looking, it is also an illegal use of the stock photo and you could be fined if found out.
8. Use reviews and testimonials as social proof.
We use social proof each day to navigate our decisions—online and in the real world. Here’s a real-world example: when you’re choosing somewhere to eat, are you tempted more by the lively restaurant full of happy customers, or the empty one across the street?
Now, think about how you buy online. I’m sure you’ve used a review—positive or negative—to influence a decision. Research from BrightLocal shows that positive reviews make 91% of consumers more likely to use a business, while 82% will be put off by negative reviews. And, the average consumer reads 10 reviews before feeling able to trust a local business.
9. Never stop testing and tweaking.
To get more website leads, you need to know what works and what doesn’t. Use A/B testing to serve up visitors different versions of your site, or try a variety of headlines over the span of several months.
Remember, what helps one site owner increase online conversions might fail miserably for another.
It can be a challenge to successfully create the most compelling copy, imagery and calls to action, so consider hiring a professional marketing company to help you get results.
If you need support with your SEO performance experts of Local SEO company in St Petersburg, FL can help you. Stay connected!

I never experienced art theft until one of my works became unexpectedly popular- since then, I've found my work reposted, redrawn, and used as reference for cosplays. It's been exhausting, both seeing it, and not knowing WHERE I should stand on the issue. I've let redraws slide (with credit), but I plan on not allowing future ones from occurring. How do you deal with art theft? How do you continue drawing without thinking about the disrespect thrown at you during bad/failed confrontations?
I am so, so incredibly sorry this happened to you, and empathize very strongly with you. Art theft SUCKS, few things can be quite as demotivating as a creator than having something you’ve worked your ass off on swiped by someone else. And unfortunately, given the current internet culture, if you continue as an online artist it’s inevitable that it’ll happen at one point or another.
Because sure, of course part of the reason why we create is because we want to, but a large part of the motivation for sharing it is to hopefully get some response that people like it, whether it be in the form of likes, reblogs, comments, asks, tags, or anything else. That is the tangible PROOF that our work touched someone, and for someone who put in zero effort and has no idea how we felt while creating to receive all of that instead of us…sucks.
I think where you stand on the issue is up to you, and it’s okay for it to change. YOU always have the right to decide how you’re comfortable with people sharing your art, and your feelings are valid regardless of how they change.
Ironically enough, I just had another art theft on Instagram (my Anniversary post) super recently, so I was like HAH when I got this orz
This rant got a bit long, so the rest beneath cut but here’s a rundown about how my feelings towards art theft have evolved over the years.
For example, over the years I’ve gotten much, MUCH stricter. My earliest online art, I just put it up, no url, oftentimes no signature, no warnings in the comments or my blog bio. Admittedly I was starting out and didn’t have much viewers anyway, but the point was I still had Trust at the time.
Then the art thefts began. I started adding my url to all my illustrations, even if it was just small in the corner, as this’d let people at least find my website. Most people are too lazy to type out a url though, and I’ve seen people asking “Who drew this??” on art theft comments EVEN WHEN THE URL IS LITERALLY RIGHT THERE…
And then people started cropping my watermarks. I made my url bigger, and started adding an additional “DO NOT REPOST” to the image itself. I used to allow reposts with credits on platforms I’m not on, like fb, until I realized that people were then reposting from THOSE communities without credit and putting them into their videos and fics and I just…decided it wasn’t worth it.
I switched to no reposts PERIOD. I have lengthy disclaimers on all of my art that leads to an even lengthier FAQ post that, should people wish to look, leads to even an even more detailed post about WHY art theft sucks, as I’m explaining now.
(EDIT: ALSO, reduce the quality of the images you upload, and NEVER upload the full resolution, and try to keep you unmerged original files. This is for several reasons: no matter how much an art thief reposts your work, they’ll never have access to the higher resolution, and if they ever decide to try to print to sell for profit it’ll be shitty quality compared to anything you make with the original. ALSO, you having the maximum resolution with no watermarking with additional unmerged psd files will be proof that you are the true creator should you need to prove it, which I’ve heard is sometimes necessary to show when your art is stolen at say, an artist alley)
I also used to bother trying to talk to art reposters. I’d comment on the post, try to send messages, etc. It’s fucking exhausting, and while there are some exceptions, the VAST majority of art thiefs will feel attacked and immediately get rude and defensive. (the failed confrontations and disrespect you mentioned orz) If it’s a large community, they may even try to gang up on you. I’ve unfortunately experienced this most frequently in communities centered around other languages (mainly Spanish) because of different mainstream attitudes towards art reposting etiquette combined with a language barrier.
You will, and no doubt already have, encountered people who will argue with you, like the people I describe above. “You should be grateful for the bigger audience!” “We just want to appreciate your art, how can you be so horrible?” “We’re all fans together!” “This is fanart and doesn’t belong to you anyway!” Etc. etc. etc. It’s exhausting, it’s repetitive, it’s neverending, and you already felt awful before it even began and the stress just continues to build.
So I personally have just begun reporting people, if the service allows it. Use DMCA takedown request forms (and YES, even if it’s fanart it’s still yours if you drew it). This is stressful too because it sends your real name + info to the reposter (and wow I clearly can’t trust these people to begin with, why would I want them to have that???) but most sites (facebook, instagram, certainly tumblr, twitter) are very efficient and responsive, and in the end the relief of receiving that email that the art has been taken down is worth it. Especially with facebook, they also send a scary official warning email to the reposters which I sincerely hope will help educate them and discourage future art thefts.
I try to avoid posting public urls because yes I’m aware how mob mentality Tumblr can get, but sometimes it’s just too much. There’s no convenient form of getting my content removed (perhaps bc it’s in a compilation with a ton of other content), or for some reason my attempts to communicate have failed. In those times I have occasionally asked my followers to help, with a reminder to PLEASE always be polite and respectful, regardless of the offense. Y’all have been amazing, and this has saved me many nights of crying in the past.
I will sometimes also write lengthy posts (like this one!) to help educate. Because I do feel that art theft will continue so long as people don’t understand what it does to artists, and it’s up to the community as a whole to make that change, which also depends heavily on the consumers not just creators. A lot of art theft really isn’t intentionally meant to harm, but IS super ignorant.
But in the end, all I’ve ranted about so far is how I’ve dealt with actually removing/dealing with the shit. But the emotional pain, it builds. Sometimes, when it’s too frequent and the stolen art gets way more attention than my original that I worked my ass off on that basically flunked on my own platforms, I feel a bit of me break.
And in the end, it’s up to you what that threshold is, where posting art and feeling good about it is overwhelmed by the pain, fear, and anxiety of art theft. I’ve crossed my own threshold too many times, and once had to take an art hiatus because of it (fandom was BH6). This lead to a break in my productivity and motivation and my eventual complete departure form the fandom. I’ve seen many other artists just stop posting art entirely or moving everything to private. It’s terrible, but my feelings are with these artists, and I feel so, so sorry that they were hurt so much to the extent they had to do this.
With my current fandom and followers, I feel that regardless of how niche an audience my content tends to be geared for, I have a community that is really satisfying for me to create for, one that is responsive to me and gives me tons of feedback. This is the number one reason why i continue to feel motivated to post a ton of online content despite the risks.
The takeaway form this long meandering post: Posting online is a hobby, it’s for fun, and I don’t make any money off my public audience (unless they come to Patreon! LOL!), so I’m a firm believer that once the anxiety + misery starts outweighing anything positive you personally may get from sharing online, which for me heavily depends on my audience and their responsiveness, there’s no reason to subject yourself to that anymore and you are in no way obligated to stay. There are various methods to more efficiently get rid of art thefts without dealing with them in person which is stressful AF, and also ways of marking up your content in ways that may look less aesthetically pleasing, but will hopefully discourage art thefts, and at the very least give them very little leg to stand on should they do it anyway. How forgiving you are in art thefts also depends on you, but the more forgiving you are, the more it can get away from you. And in the end, YOU as a human are more important than any complaints about art looking less pleasing or the feelings of art thefts who don’t get to do what they want with YOUR hard work.
Sorry this was so disjointed and literally just me spewing at you, but I hope some of it was helpful ^ ^; Please let me know if I can give you any other advice, and I’m sorry again that you have to deal with this ;_;
(and to respond to your second ask, I do try to respond to most of my asks, but sometimes it takes a while (sometimes even months orz), especially if it’s one that requires a lengthy detailed answer like this one ^ ^; thank you for your patience!)

About Valve OCs and the blog
This has been on my mind for a while.
This blog never got a satisfying end in my books, and I’m sure for other readers as well. Even though closure is a myth perpetuated by mainstream media, I will make this post to try to rectify past mistakes and general truancy of this blog. I have my own suspicions that most of my readers are dead (considering all of the porn bots are now starting to follow me), so I write this post in the darkness of the night into the void that is Tumblr. Read my cry if you care.
Firstly, this blog will never update again. There are multiple factors that have led to this blog’s extinction and I think they’re important to address
Motivation
This blog took up a large chunk of my life back when it was active. Don’t get me wrong, bad art still gets me to cringe and I find myself on occasion still pining over weird ocs and art styles on Deviantart. However, maintaining it as a blog with daily updates became a chore for me along with promising critiques of ocs and such. I’ve come to discover that I can’t do what I love as “””work”””. While bad art still remains a passion for me, I don’t see myself continuing this in blog format.
OCs have changed
The OC market has changed. Base art has definitely taken a downturn in the past few years and you’re more likely to see people hand-drawing their ocs or writing them out. Thanks with the culture of memeing about bootleg fandom ocs (This is my own original character blonic, donut steels) , it seems that people are more drawn towards creating their own worlds and characters rather than shoving their mary sue into their current fan favorite content. These are good changes in terms of originality for artists and writers in my opinion.
However, a lot of the formats for OCs have changed as well. There tends to be an emphasis on their sexuality and race in OC culture now. I don’t consider that a bad thing but I’d rather not poke that hornet’s nest of gender identity and race of fictional characters. What used to be the standard straight, bi, gay has expanded into other territories that I am unfamiliar with and now we have more ocs outside of the standard white chick but with Japanese last name because the creator really likes naruto. Again, this just seems to be the trend and I think my last few revival posts kinda show them.
Valve as a games publisher
LOL when’s half life 3???
Valve has definitely moved from being a game developer to a digital distributor.  Steam definitely seems to be their focus outside of Hat/Weapon Skin collecting and online gambling (and also their weird consoles/controllers???). Not that I would continue this blog if they released more content (They published another update to the TF2 comic, can’t wait for that to get updated in a year).
Along with this slump of their own original content, this has led to a slump in original characters for their franchises. There are not as many fan ocs and art isn’t being produced for their franchises (except maybe with comic updates for TF2 and nostalgia for old games).
This blog was created at the optimal time imo with L4D2 still being fresh, TF2 still having an active userbase, and Portal 2 giving some great content in terms of creative material.
Also I’m not interested in reviewing Dota 2 art and I don’t think there are enough Counterstrike ocs.
Negativity
I don’t know if this blog was a source of positive or negative energy. On one hand, I was ridiculing people’s art without much hesitation and not acknowledging how much time and effort that might have been put in by the artist. But on the other hand, it provided laughs for people during its duration and gave me a creative outlet in terms of humor, arguments, and writing. I think I did my best to avoid any harassment for these artists by removing any watermarks that might lead any rude reader to them, but I’ll never know if they suffered any bullying. Obviously I’m not going to put this on my resume as work experience but I like to think that this blog help think critically about their content, regardless of what role you played on the blog be it me, a submitter, an observer, or the subject. Maybe if some supreme being questions why I started this blog in the afterlife, I can tell them I did it for the lolz.
In the end, I think I did more harm than any general good for the world and nobody will really understand that weird pain if I try to repent for it publicly. I don’t know of any key examples of this (or really remember because I haven’t done this shit in years), but I do apologize if I ruined anyone’s ambitions for writing/drawing.
I’m glad there is a stronger hugbox mentality for artists who aren’t very good and I embrace that style of encouragement. I guess my only concern is veering too far into that and just embracing everything as perfect and awesome and never improving. Criticism has its place in society.
Perhaps the real lesson is that who the hell gives a shit about what you post on the internet. Why should you give a stranger any control over how much your art is worth? However, this also gives the argument into determining if any of your art is worth anything based on your preconceived notions on your art’s merits since you are only a stranger to me. Why should you tell me that your art is valid and equal to anything else produced when it looks like you drew it with your tablet pen stuck up your ass?
Maybe we all just need to learn to stop giving invisible voices the power to ruin our emotional states and work on our self satisfaction.
Growing up????
I wrote most of this blog like a million years ago. It was a stronger part of my identity and a part of a community in a way of similar blogs in the same style. But I don’t really relate to the content as much I used to. Valve games are still near and dear to me, but they’re more nostalgic than my current flame and muse. I feel the same happened to other blogs in the same vein as mine. Perhaps also age and the changes of time led to our own focuses in our own lives than looking at the scribbles of some stranger on the internet. While it’s still one of my internet past times, it is not my main focus in life to critique bad art (unless it starts paying serious dosh). I just don’t relate to the words and passions anymore. In a way, this is my own cringe that artists produce when they’re young on Deviantart. It’s kind of funny in a weird way.
This blog will continue to remain up but I’ll probably move into another blog of some sort (I accidentally made this my primary blog and I can’t delete it). It sort of became my main lurking blog and I guess its time that I make a less weird not ghost blog (I’m probably confusing a lot of the people that I follow with my constant hearts and comments).
I guess I wanna say thanks for all of the people who followed this blog and its contents. I probably wouldn’t have continued for very long without followers so you’re all to blame for this negative impact I’ve made on the world (jkjk). I like to think we’re connected with our mutual spirit in improving how we create things and wanting to see improvement in others. I think this blog helped me see the dumbest of things and not be afraid to say it was dumb and I hope it did for you as well. I also hope it brought you laughs in the content that was displayed or the humor I attempted to convey. It did genuinely warm my heart whenever I got a heart, reply, reblog, or messages to keep up the work. It kind of makes me sad to think that I left rather abruptly, but better blogs have died quicker and quieter. Simple fact of life really. Thank god my ego keeps me in check to constantly remind people of my existence.
To any artists out there, bad art is a fact of life. You do not come out of the womb knowing how to do two point perspective and 3d shapes. You mess up doing 3d shapes each any every time until you get it and then move on to the next thing you’re not good at. There’s a common TIL leddit post about how Michaelangelo burnt all of his old works so nobody would know how bad he was when he was starting out. I don’t know how true that is, but that’s not a great mentality to have for your art. Seeing that bridge between your former self and current self is important for seeing self growth in your skills. Plus you won’t have those juicy likes and comments on instagram when you do the art redraw and show how far you come like how can you skimp on that you dingus.
All of the great content creators right now love showing off the shitty art they did as kids because it gives them a sense of progress in their work and their accomplishments and continues to drive them in their own works. (unless you’re rebecca sugar and drew ed edd and eddy shipping porn lol). Heck, some of them even take the stuff that was once cliche characters and expanded on them in their own Original Universe Donut Steel. And thanks to their own Original Universe Donut Steel, now tens of thousands of impressionable young artists can look at it and say “that’s awesome, but it would be way better if there was my own character...”.
OCs are weirdly one of the ultimate ways of fan expression where you enjoy the content so much you wish you were part of it. Even though it’s very disjointed and out of place, it’s usually done in a place of love for the franchise or the characters. So for those of you that are doing that still, keep at it I guess.
Fan art is sorta in the same way where you enjoy something so much that you want to replicate the style/themes/characters in your own or the content’s style. While not as extreme, it’s still in the same place of love and people generally like that more than original shit anyways so continue to make it so I can buy your posters at anime conventions without supporting the original creator lol.
If you want to harass me further for my sins against budding artists, I guess I’ll link my personal blog if anyone actually asks me. I also wrote this at 3 am so it is extremely unedited and awful but it’s the most “pure” for my usual diatribe. Consider it my first OC for the blog.
Good night, good life, and farewell.

16 Game-Changing Uses for Table Salt That Can Save Your Day Out of the Blue

16 Game-Changing Uses for Table Salt That Can Save Your Day Out of the Blue
Salt has been used for well over 6000 years, and we don’t expect it to go away any time soon. It’s used in a wide variety of situations and contexts, from cooking, to preserving all kinds of food, and to control & diminish fires. It’s one of the main reasons why we can transport food all over the world! And the best thing of all is that salt is crazy cheap almost everywhere, and its uses are virtually infinite!
Naturally, Bright Side has looked into some more wonderful and miraculous ways that salt can save your day from going overboard. Most of them are pretty easy to try out!
16. Bring back the natural color of old clothes
You tried everything you could think of to make those old clothes look new, or at the very least not so washed out, but nothing quite worked out. Try salt!
Just soak your clothes in a solution of salt water, and/or add a ¼ cup of salt into the wash cycle. You’ll surely be surprised at the results you’ll get.
15. Refresh and clean artificial flowers
This one’s pretty easy and surprising. No one likes dust in their artificial flowers, but dust is almost impossible to get rid of (at least permanently).
One easy-peasy way to keep your artificial flowers dust-free is to put some table salt into a bag (paper, preferably), add your artificial flora, and give it a shake. The salt will remove any traces of dirt and dust, and they’ll look wonderful again.
14. Get rid of lipstick marks
Those long-lasting and strong lipsticks can be a pain to wash off since they’re designed to resist water. You throw a beautiful and jaunty party, only to face lipstick on the glassware at the end.
Even after numerous dishwashing adventures, the lipstick won’t come off. Grrrr. What to do? Just gently scrub your glasses and glassware with salt (careful not to scratch them) before sending them to Washville. Trust us, the stains won’t be able to resist it!
13. Cheap and effective skin exfoliant
Salt can also be a great alternative to take care of dry skin. It removes dead skin, enhances your blood circulation, is an overall good way to improve your skin’s health, and it’s cheap!
It is especially effective if you apply it after one of those relaxing, hot baths. Remember: apply salt while your skin is still mildly wet, and massage it in a circular fashion. For better exfoliating results, use sea salt!
12. As a companion to toothpaste
Ever gotten yourself into a scenario where you don’t have toothpaste on hand? Just use salt!
Another pretty simple and handy hack is to actually add salt into your toothbrushing routine. It’s great to remove stains, to whiten your teeth, and even to disinfect them, because of the antibacterial properties of salt. Just don’t expect your teeth to whiten overnight, it takes some time and consistency to pull it off, but it’s well worth the wait.
Simply dip your wet toothbrush into table salt and brush your teeth gently. Alternatively, add a little bit of table salt on top of your toothpaste to make it smoother!
11. Test to see if your eggs are still good
Yes, eggs are the kind of thing that we tend to forget in the fridge. It’s not that we don’t know that they can go bad, it’s just we subconsciously think they’ll last longer than anything else.
If you find yourself in a situation where you don’t know if you should or can eat an egg, just do the salt-water test!
Just add cooking salt (2 tbsp should be enough) to a cup of water (or any other container, as long as it is large enough to hold the egg) and drop the egg inside. If it sinks, it’s good. If it floats, don’t eat it!
10. Pre-shampoo treatment for dandruff
Dandruff can tank your self-esteem if the problem is let loose. And you’ve probably tried a myriad of treatments and solutions for it and never quite got that satisfying payoff you were hoping for. But have you tried salt?
Before you splash shampoo on your hair, sprinkle some salt onto your scalp, massage it carefully and thoroughly for at least 5 minutes, then bring in the shampoo reinforcements. It does wonders for dandruff, and also helps your hair grow healthy, long, and strong!
9. Prevent ice formations
Ice can be a delicate problem during winter. Especially when you have to drop the kids off at school and then head to work, and your windshield is covered in ice the size of an iceberg!
Exaggerations aside, salt is a distinguished ally against ice, because it decreases the temperature at which ice freezes, working as an effective and cheap de-icer. Before heading to bed for the night, grab a small cloth, fill it with salt, and rub it across every inch of glass on your car. You’ll have an ice-free surprise in the morning!
8. Ease a sore throat
A solution of salt and water can do wonders for a sore throat. It loosens mucus, reduces swelling, and it expels bacteria and other irritants which can be the cause for your throat soreness.
Just add some table salt into a glass of water, and gargle it for between 30 seconds to a minute. You’ll be amazed at how strangely effective it is.
7. Remove watermarks from furniture
Another recurrent problem: those pesky marks on your furniture. The fact that most people forget that coasters exist, even after they’ve been provided with tons of ’em, is quite problematic if you’re throwing a party, or if you own a bar or pub. It can be a problem, and a hard one to get rid of conventionally.
A potentially easy way to get rid of ’em is to throw a little bit of salt directly onto the problem and scrub it gently with a sponge, preferably a wet one. You might just be able to get rid of that useless circle!
6. Make your toothbrush last longer
This is a surprising one, and a hack that’s both cheap and can help you save money. It’s pretty simple, really, just drench your new toothbrush in salted water for a while before using it, it will help it live a longer life! You can also spread salt all over the brush, and then submerge it in water.
5. Make your lips luscious and smoother
Salt’s not only good for exfoliating your skin, but also for your lips. Whenever you feel like your lips are dry, rough, and not-at-all luscious, just add salt!
A quick and easy way to do it is to add some table salt to a toothbrush and carefully brush your lips with it (again, circular motions have been proven to be the best). After you’re done, wash it off. Your lips will look splendid in no time!
4. Improve oral health by mixing it with water
Like we’ve already previously discussed, salt has great anti-bacterial properties, and can be a great and cheap way to maintain and improve your oral health without buying overly expensive products.
As with the sore-throat hack, you can gargle a solution of salt water for 30 to 60 seconds. It is a great way to relieve any injuries or sores that have befallen your throat, and it is especially effective at keeping your mouth fresh!
3. Get your fish tank sparkling again
Did your fish ever say, “I’m out” after living in a dirty tank for days and days on end? Fret not, this is another great and unconventional use for salt. Who would’ve thought you could use it to keep your fish tank sparkling, tidy, and free of mineral deposits from hard water?
Just rub the inside of your fish tank with salt, and rinse it afterward. But, and we cannot stress this enough, it is imperative that you thoroughly rinse your tank, and add a product to keep your water treated (such as Tapsafe) before putting your fish inside the tank again!
2. Unclog the pipes
If you have a clogged drain in your home that you’re desperate to unclog, but you have no drain cleaner on hand, just try salt! We’re serious, just drop a 1/2 cup of cooking salt into the nasty hotspot. Being naturally coarse and abrasive, salt will eat through the grease that’s inhabiting your clogged pipe.
1. Remove those impossible red wine stains
Perhaps the worst contender of them all: wine stains, particularly red wine stains. They can be some of the worst types of stains you can get on shirts, sweaters, carpets, and basically any kind of fabric that has had the unfortunate luck of having wine spilled on it.
This hack works best if applied while the wine stain is still fresh (right after the crime has been committed!). First, you need to dilute the stain by pouring water directly on it, and then cover it up with table salt. Leave it for about 10 to 15 minutes, and then scrub, and scrub, and scrub, until that troublesome stain is gone!
There’s still plenty unconventional uses for salt out there. If you know of some that we haven’t discussed here (or anywhere else), join in the discussion below, we’d love to discover more of them!

Kodi vs Plex — which one is right for you? Kodi and Plex are competing media centers — they give you access to all your videos, images, and songs from one place. They also let you stream content to multiple devices and watch live TV channels. Although Kodi and Plex serve a similar purpose, they are different in many ways. Both offer unique features, which makes it hard to proclaim one as being better than the other. So, Kodi vs Plex? Which one is right for you? Let’s find out. Kodi vs Plex – What is Kodi? Kodi is an open source media center that keeps all your digital content in one place for easy access. So instead of searching for songs, videos, and pictures in different folders on your PC, you can see and play them all in Kodi. The content is organized into categories, including images, music, and TV shows. The software supports all the major video and audio formats and can run on Windows, Android, Linux, and macOS. It also works on iOS, but only if you have a jailbroken device. Kodi is free of charge and offers many customization options. There are loads of skins available that allow you to change the look of the software to your liking. You can also add and remove categories, organize movies by genre, and much more. Third-party add-ons are the biggest reason for Kodi’s popularity among users. You can watch — and record — live TV channels like Bravo, ABC Family, and DIY Network and listen to podcasts. You can also add dedicated YouTube and Vimeo apps, radio stations, as well as the weather forecast to the service. However, the add-ons are controversial among many because some are not legal — you can use them to access pirated content. Kodi also has a few drawbacks. The default skin is far from the prettiest out there and is a pain to use. But you can change it to something more modern, as already mentioned, so it’s not really a big deal. A bigger problem is that the software makes it difficult to stream content from one device to another. It’s not an out-of-the-box feature and can be complicated to set up — but it can be done. Want to learn how to download and install Kodi? Click on through! Download Kodi Kodi vs Plex – What is Plex? Like Kodi, Plex is a hub for your movies, music, and images. It offers access to your entire media library in one place, where you can organize it by categories. The software supports almost all music and video formats, has a gorgeous interface that’s easy to navigate, and works on various platforms including Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. What makes it different from Kodi is that it offers an easy way to share content between different devices. For example, the movies stored on your PC can be watched on your Android device with the help of the Plex app. However, the free version of the service has many limitations in this area. Video and music streaming is limited to one minute, while photos have a watermark added. To enjoy sharing content across all your devices without restrictions, you’ll need to sign up for Plex Pass. It will set you back $5 per month, $40 per year, or $120 for lifetime access. Plex Pass also offers many other great features. It gives you access to various TV channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX, among many others. But keep in mind they are region dependent and that you need an HD antenna and a digital tuner to watch them. There’s also a parental control feature available to keep your kids away from content they shouldn’t see. Other things worth mentioning are support for lyrics, the option of making multiple accounts, and the ability to sync content to your mobile device for offline viewing. However, Plex doesn’t offer a lot of customization options — at least not as many as Kodi. Looking for more options outside of Plex and Kodi, check out our list of the best media center apps. Download Plex Which service is right for me? MNJ Insurance Solutions So who wins in this Kodi vs Plex comparison? Good question. Kodi and Plex offer the same basic feature, which is to bring all your media content under one roof. But each of them also has a set of unique features aimed at a specific audience. Editor's Pick Best media streaming devices for your TV With so much on-demand content available these days, media streaming devices have become extremely popular, and for a good reason. Media streamers allow you to transform your TV into a smart TV by bringing apps … If you want a service that allows you to organize your entire media library as well as share it to other devices effortlessly, Plex is the way to go. It’s also a great option for those who want to watch live TV legally, although you’ll need additional gear to make that happen. But keep in mind there are fewer live TV channels available than on Kodi. In case you’re looking for a media center solution that’s free of charge but still offers a number of useful features, Kodi is more up your alley. It might not be as pretty or easy to use as Plex, but it does have a lot more customization options. It also gives you access to a lot of add-ons for watching live TV, although some aren’t legal. Like with Plex, you can also stream videos, music, and other content from one device to another, but you’ll have to invest some time and effort to set it up. If you’re still not sure which service to opt for, try both of them out for a week or two. By getting hands-on experience, you’ll be able to figure out which one is best suited to your needs. When it comes to Kodi vs Plex, which service do you think offers more? Let us know in the comments. , via Android Authority http://bit.ly/2DFLLw3
