Well, today was a pretty good day. I decided to attend my friends soccer game today after school, and I actually had loads of fun! The game was intense! The game ended a tie. 1 - 1. But I'm really happy for my friend, he played well. And my legs is slowly getting better! Only 12 days to go. On another note, I feel like, something strange is happening. I'm not sure. It's almost as if someone is trying to sabotage something in my life. I don't know. It's hard to explain...

Best Photo #1 - Shattered
Out of all my photos taken these past 5 months I am torn between this one and the next for being my best shot of the semester. This photo is taken of an abandoned building near Downtown, Windsor. I angled my camera down the back surface of the building to capture the detail and the unique quality of the building, with the door as my object of main focus. Using the rule of thirds, the photo has great potential. I think the use of a dark colour of the door along with the bright pale colour of the building really brings out good artistic feel and attention to this photograph. Every time I look at this photo I see such crisp detail that it makes such a wonderful picture. To editing I put into the picture was the use of curves, brightness, contests, and vibrance in order to darker to photo where needed and to bring out the rich colour. If I had more time I would not change a thing about this photo. Overall I find that this fantastic artistic photo deserves to be on my blog. It also own photo of the week and I've very proud if that.

Best Photo #2 - Amanda’ s Eye
This is the other photo tied for best photo of the last 5 months. This photo is taken of a friend's eye using the rule of thirds to perfectly place the photograph. The vibrant and unique colours of the eye work beautifully with the photo. Since the eye has such a great colouring it is the primary object that stands out. The intertwining colours in the iris set a unique interest in the eye of the viewer. Not only the eye but the dark makeup surrounding the eye makes the centre of focus pop more and the photo becomes more vibrant. Also the use of the warm coloured air set a nice relaxing pleasing tone to the photo as well. During the editing process I used brightness to get the perfect about of colour into the photo. I used auto curves to get a better colours. Plus I used contrast and a warm (orange) filter on the photo to he the colour to stand out more in a more calming manner. If I had time to edit some more I wouldn't change a thing because where the picture stands now there is something so intriguing about the feeling and mood of the photo that I can't look away. There is something I want to search for that keeps me looking at the photograph. That's why it's easy to say that this photo makes the cut into my blog. It one photo that makes a huge impact on people.

Reflection
Within the past 5 months I've learnt a lot and have transformed quite a bit in my photos. I remember beginning this semester thinking I knew a good amount of things about photography. Until I realized within the first week, the stuff that I did know wasn't "good photography", just "cool looking" photography. There was a lot more rules to producing a good photo. I learnt about composition rules within that first week of class and even if I didn't run them through my head everyday, I had them fully memorized and practiced within my photos by the end of the semester. Looking back now, composition rules have helped me out a great deal. I understand how to take a great photo without having to even edit it first. It all depends on how you set it up. I know now that I can happily say I'm proud of my transformation. I went from crappy photos into professional-like photos by the end of the semester. Plus I learnt how to work with Photoshop and I've made pretty cool projects since. I always found it fun to play with a picture for a few days. Especially one that was kind of unique, like my galaxy photo. I'm going to say that it is really hard for me to remember my transformation from start to finish in detail. That is why my experience with it is explained very vaguely. Although, I can say that I am very happy to have taken this class. I've always enjoyed taking pictures and I'm always striving to find new projects and learn new things. Obviously going into this semester I didn't know a whole lot about proper photography but I am happy to say I know enough to produce a good photo. This class has taught me so much and I am so grateful. Taking pictures and editing them in the future is going to be easier and more fun than ever and I am thankful for that. Since this class I've wanted to go out and take pictures even more than I ever had before. I want to visit more places to take more interesting photographs. I am also very glad to have spent this semester with friends too. I got even closer to Victoria and it has been a fun semester with her sitting by my side everyday. I am glad I was able to grow a stronger friendship with her on this class alone. I want to thank you Mrs. for everything you have taught me about composition and photography. You made it a fun class to look forward to everyday. Thank you. All I can say now is that I'm going to miss this class and that I'm looking forward to picture taking from now on. I'll use my knowledge of Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines, Patterns, Experimentation, View Point, Focal Point, etc to help me with every photo I will take. Overall, this class meant a good deal to me. It was a class I really wanted to take because I just wanted to learn more of something that interests me. I'm glad I took this class and I'm sad that it is over. I know have something to add to my creativity aspect of my life. I'm just proud of myself with the photos I have taken. I'm looking forward to lots more photography in the future!
