Padmavati Solanki had spent multiple nights in the foxhole with Mercy and myself, the deeper we got into the Normandy Campaign; she was a translator who excelled in her area of work. She was by far one of the most intelligent people I got to interact with in the war. Aware, keen and level-headed, Padmavati was well equipped for a war where she knew how to approach it. The first few nights where it was just the three of us there in the foxhole, she was content with silence and listening to the hum of the crickets. She had said it had been an incredibly long time since she had experienced the quiet chirping of nighttime crickets since leaving home. She was a lover of sunrises, she said the day relied on them to awaken the people of the world, and she was an enthusiastic novel lover though I wish I had paid more attention to some of the novels we read in school so I could discuss them more with her! Though, Lucy and Mildred were perfect fits to discuss all things literature and novel related. Padmavati was one of the people you could always trust out there though; whether it was on patrols or sitting in a foxhole, she had your back. And people like that were special in this war.

Chittor Fort in Chittorgarh is one of the largest forts in India. The Fort was the capital of Mewar and is located in the present day of Chittor. Chittorgarh lies on the banks of Rivers Berach and Gambini. It is the most popular destination for tourist travel in Rajasthan. This was the reason why the battle of war between Alauddin Khilji and Ratan Singh had taken place. Alauddin Khilji killed Ratan Singh in this battle. Then Jauhar was performed by Rani Padmini along with the other maid during the time of war.

 Vijaya Stambha

Vijay Stambha is known by the name of Victory Fort. It is 10 feet long tower. Vijaya Stambha is a victory monument located within Chittor Fort in Chittorgarh. The tower was built by the Mewar king, Rana Kumbha in 1448 to celebrate his victory over the combined armies of Malwa and Gujarat led by Mahmud Khilji. The tower is devoted to Vishnu.

Kirti Stambha

 Kirti Stambha is a 12th-century tower in Chittorgarh town of Rajasthan, India. It is also called “Tower of fame”. It is dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara, Adinathji. The 22 meter long tower was built for the Solanki styles.

  Kalika Mata Temple

Kalika Mata Mandir is the Hindu goddess temple. It was built in 14th century. The temple attracts a large number of people during the fair.

hi! i just saw that you have a new story, And Then The Dawn Came, coming soon and was wondering what you can you say about it so far? (if you want to say something that is 😅)

hey anon!! (so lovely to have you stop by!) i do!! :) attdc will most likely be coming out once landslide finishes up (which i’m hoping is at some point later this year?!). i can drop a few things if you want!

ATTDC was molded, in a way, around Special Forces in WW2 involving female OCs and it was something I got an idea for AGES ago I tell you, and finally getting to work with it and mess with it a bit has been something I’ve wanted to always do!

Basically, we start out by following war correspondent Esther Armstrong and her ‘partner in crime’ war photographer, Mercy Codona. In my eyes, they’re the perspectives we’ll follow the most, because they’re essentially the main characters that we’ll focus on for perspective and tone of the entire piece. We’ll get POVs from other characters but these two will be the main focus, and mainly, Esther.

D-Day is where a majority of the focus will be as we’ll meet the ensemble of other Special Forces characters as well (who I am all so so excited about!). We’ll meet a few SOE Agents like Lucy Gardner and Mildred Carter, a Double Agent, Margereta Geringher, as well as a few Maquis members like Jeannie Deschamps (and her brother Fitzgerald!) and Rolande Pelletier. We’ll have a female sniper, Mitzi Kasatkina, as well as a member of the British Eight, Padmavati Solanki. We also have an on-the-run ex Maquis member Yvette St. Clair.

It’ll be a lot about dynamics and testing the waters, as well as mystery and the idea of “uncovering” things along the way. I also am playing with the idea of having this war correspondent, Esther, wanting to tell these women’s stories too which I think would be neat! :)

And of course, I can’t go a Band of Brothers fic without a little dash of romance tbh lol, so we’ll have a fair bit of that as well haha!

This is no really, official synopsis of what might happen, but a general direction of where I want to go with it and who I want to include in it and I’m incredibly excited!

I am more than happy to talk about more things (specifics, characters, etc….) if you ever wanted to send anymore asks! I am incredibly excited for when the time comes for this fic to get posted! <3
