The holy trinity of traumatizing Korean animated animal films

To be clear these are good movies! I recommend them all, but not without knowing what you're getting into.Underdog and Leafie: A Hen Into the Wild are on the same level as Animals of Farthing Wood. Bad things happen to animals, but the worst is kept off screen or implied. Padak, however is quite graphic, including one of the most upsetting death scenes I've witnessed in ANY film animated or otherwise.

The movies are Underdog (2012), Leafie A Hen Into The Wild (2011), and Padak (2012)

There are official dubs of Underdog and Leafie, however they have been edited so I'd recommend viewing elsewhere. Padak is available subbed in it's entirety on Amazon or Crunchyroll

I can rest easy knowing no other film I watch will contain as much psychological horror, gore, mutilation, violent on screen death, animal abuse, cannibalism (of children!) and grief as Padak / Swimming To Sea (2012). At least it's a musical though!

I noticed there aren’t a whole lot of Padak gifsets on tumblr, so I had to at least add my favorite. Love him or hate him, here’s Anago.

Thinking about how absolutely different my favorite movies are like woah

Like theres You Are Umasou which is a cute anime flick about a carnivore getting raised by herbivores and then running away to become who everyone expects him to b.

Then theres Padak a dark film about fish struck in a tank at a sushi shop

Jurassic Park ia just a basic favorite of every nerd or geek (even if the dinos are very inaccurate but whatever)

How To Train Your Dragon is in the same boat as Jurassic Park

And then finally Dragonheart is a film about the last dragon meeting a dragon slayer and other hyjinx that involve a corrupt king or whatever

Anyways watch all of these films they are very poggers

Watch Padak (2012)

I began watching this movie with low expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. The story kept me interested along with the off-putting and oddly creative imagery. Many good unexpected twists as well.

It’s basically a horror movie from the eyes of fish. It contains a lot of disturbing imagery as well, which works well into the story and isn’t just for the shock factor.
