Versace in Los Angeles. VERSACE. Ready To Wear/Menswear Fall - Winter 2023/24. L.A. March 2023

Although, as the song says, it never rains in California, the outdoor show of the Versace collection for Fall - Winter 2023/24 in Los Angeles, although long-awaited, was moved back a day due to the weather forecast. Fortunately, this did not result in vacancies in the front row of the show. There were, among others, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Channing Tatum, Anne Hathaway and Lil Nas X, as well as friends of the brand and Donatella Versace herself - Elton John and Cher. The runway was set up on the roof of the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, with a beautiful view of the area.

Donatella Versace admits that she is in love with the people and atmosphere of this place. The more so that the show took place in the pre-Oscar week. Throwback time! Does anyone else miss going to fun parties, dressing up, and being social? I do! For an extrovert like me, this pandemic and quarantine has been tough. I’m a person who is used to being around other people all of the time in life, work, and play. I also love meeting new people. And I am very sensitive to and thrive off of other people’s energies. So when the pandemic happened, I immediately lost one of my sources of happiness. Na wybiegu modelki ubrane w wycięte na przodzie suknie balowe Cloqué ciągnęły za sobą długie treny, inne szły mając na sobie małe czarne. Męskie smokingi ozdobiono kryształkami. Niektóre sukienki wykonano przy użyciu technik zwykle zarezerwowanych dla couture.

Bardziej zwyczajny set obejmował schludne kroje z ostrymi ramionami i wciętą talią inspirowane kolekcjami Gianniego Versace z połowy lat 90. oraz skórzane twinsety, płaszcze samochodowe i luźne dżinsy typu boyfriend.

Donatella Versace tym razem zrezygnowała z agresywnego brandingu i ograniczyła paletę kolorów.

Cesar Pelli, Designer of San Francisco's Sales Force Tower & Iconic Buildings Around the World, Dies at 92 Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is today, one of the most prolific designers of skyscrapers around the world. Mr. Pelli grew up in northern Argentina. In 1952, he came north to continue his architecture training at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Pelli spent almost 10 years at the Eero Saarinen firm, the great Finnish-American architect then working in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In 1967, Mr. Pelli took a job in California at a giant architecture and engineering firm known as DMJM. In 1968, he went to work for Gruen Associates, a large Los Angeles-based architecture firm, under whose aegis he designed the Pacific Design Center. In 1976, Pelli was selected as the dean of Yale’s school of architecture. " in buildings like Goldman Sachs in Jersey City, and the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, Mr. Pelli developed a curving tower form that appeared to bend inward gently as it met the sky, a shape that returned to modernism but that replaced sharp edges with a natural, sculptural ease. His late work would increasingly be defined by softly curving facades of glass, and a determination to find quiet, understated but memorable sculptural form, part of a lifelong search for alternatives to the boxy towers of midcentury modernism.
