It would appear that the Selena Gomez Oreos have been designed for the filling to be easily removed from the cookie. Maybe that's how all the Oreos are going to be? I haven't been paying attention to the mash of special editions that have come and in between my trips to the cookie aisle. It was rather startling at first, the way in which the filling peeled back. But much appreciated in the context of all those times the filling was cemented on the cookie and wasn't giving way.
At any rate, the filling is ...interesting. Good, yes, but it could have been ... different? I don't want to say 'better' because it's pretty darn good. But since they're on a roll, I'm hoping for more iterations of Mexican chocolate/cinnamon in the future.
But why Selena? They're certainly not Frida Kahlo or Salma Hayek edition cookies. Now my taste buds are on a run. Huitzilopochtli edition? Y Tu Mamá También? And the Frida Kahlo would mean there would be a Diego Rivera. But then, I'd rather chomp* on a Carlos Fuentes Oreo.
*or dunk, most likely.
