Alright, I had this wonderful idea come into my head about Clayton, honestly he deserves his own fic. So here is his version of events! Lots will tie together with Golden so I recommend you read that as well. But you don’t have to of course.
Explaining:
Before Letter is the present.
Letter is updating the lives of the people back home, of whoever wrote it mostly.
After Letter is memory.
The first few letters will be very awkward because writing letters and not being sure what to talk about and what not to talk about is hard and confusing. Stick with me! Yes, this prologue is just a letter.
TW/CW: Discussions of death, miliatry training, smut, cringy jokes, underage drinking, dumb choices, swearing, and more later on.
Beta: @walking-crisis
Some Characters belong to @lumosinlove
Chapter 3:
Dear Uncle Sam
Copperhead Road (Line Dance Skip to 1 minute)
It was an uneventful night, they had just gotten back from an assignment that came up with nothing. Taking off his boots Clay was sitting on his cot, rolling his neck to crack it. Stiff from looking through a scope all day. A song that Clay wasn’t familiar was playing over the satellite radio, something old.
As he took his boots off the picture he always keeps in his left boot falls out and flutters to the floor, smiling he picks up the picture of Leo, Reg, Eloise, and himself smiling at the camera during Christmas one year at the Dumias’ house. He sets it next to him and tugs off his other boot where his other photo falls out. He can’t help the sad and lonely smile that creeps onto his face. Running his thumb over their faces he reminds himself that he has two weeks until he sees them again.
Thomas and Noelle were the last faces he saw before a loud bang and bright lights were all he saw.
Sitting up as soon as the light dulled he felt a shock flow through his body and gasped for breath. Grabbing his chest a sudden heat shot through the back of his head to the left side of his forehead.
“Hey, hey, hey, it's okay.” A voice caught his attention, looking around he spotted a man that looked familiar but not at the same time.
“Where am I!? What happened? Am I dead!?”
“Do you feel dead?”
“... I don’t know”
“We’ll come back to that in a moment. Do you remember your name?” The man moves to sit at the edge of Clay’s bed from where he was standing in the doorway.
“Clayton London Bruss. Now where am I?” Clay lifts his hand up to his forehead where the pain still throbs and feels bandages.
“You’re in a recovery center, you were shot by one of your superior officers.” Clays eyes widen and he lays back down. Then he remembers his pictures and a feeling of guilt washed over him.
“I’m Grev Kinter, I’ll be helping you recover.” The man held out his hand for clay to shake.
He didn’t take his hand.
Dear Dancer,
Long time no write, haven’t heard from you in a couple months. I hope you’re still kicking ass out there. I do miss you… a lot. You come home in 2 weeks. I can survive, but I am getting impatient.
Oh! Remember that dance and song that made me realize I liked you? I finally learned the dance! That means we can dance when you get home.
I may be able to skate like it's nothing but I can’t line dance for shit. But, I learned for you… and because it gets stuck in my head all the time.
When you get home we have to go to this new restaurant that sells a bunch of southern foods because I need to know if it's authentic or not. I eat there everyday you're deployed just to remind me of you.
Was that too cheesy?
Well, I haven’t gotten to be cheesy in a while to you so… Deal with it.
I hope you get this before you are on your way home or else you’ll have no clue what I’m talking about.
All the love,
Thomas
P.S
Noelle says hello!
“I fucking hate those boots.” Leo runs the back of his thigh where Clayton just kicked him with his cherry red pointed toe boots. Smiling, he pats Leo’s shoulder.
“You're just jealous you can’t look this good.” They went to sit at their normal table, Reg sat in between them. It’s where he feels most comfortable. They ordered drinks as they waited for the team to arrive, the music was swinging, people were laughing. It was a relaxed night.
Clay was a bit nervous though, he had gotten close to a specific person on the team and he recently found out that that person was already in a relationship. He had gotten her number from Logan somehow, he didn’t know how those two knew each other, he had called the girlfriend to let her know that he and the teammate had been talking. The next thing he knew he was on the phone with her for hours, talking about him, life, hockey and how Clay had no idea how to follow the game.
She was something special, but Clay knew that those two were happy together so he tried to just be friendly with them. New friends never hurt anyone. Then he saw them in person again and being just friends suddenly became a lot harder.
Thomas, a whole 6’2” man of solid muscle broader than clay himself and just the light in the room. He has the nickname Talkie because he loves to chat with anyone, for hours, including Clay. It felt like he had known Thomas for years when really it was only a number of months.
Noelle balanced him out perfectly, she is smart as hell, quiet but still goofy with Thomas. She was taller than Logan by an inch and won’t let him forget it, her long brown hair was constantly up in a ponytail. She also plays hockey but not professionally, she plays for fun. Clay doesn’t know her job yet but he wants to know everything about her.
It was just the guys coming out tonight because Judy invited the women and whoever didn’t want to come out over to have a wine tasting of Garland’s homemade wine. Clay was out on the floor dancing with one of his friends from highschool when the team came in. He made his way back over to them when the song ended and joined them in a round of shots.
He makes eye contact with Thomas for a second too long and he quickly looks away to Reg who is coughing from the burn of the drink and pats his back. After a couple of minutes of chatting and joking Clay's favorite song came on.
“Leo! Come on!” Clay drags Leo onto the floor right in front as the music gets past the intro. Logan was supporting himself on the table next to a smug Finn. Thomas and James were watching as they started the dance. The light changed to this dull yellow light that swirled around the floor landing on dancers every once in a while.
Clay and Leo were constantly under the light because everyone knew them there. Anytime Clay looked up he always felt a specific set of eyes on him. Dark brown and soft. Clay lost himself in the music, dancing was something he enjoyed to a fault. Once he gets in the zone he can’t be talked to.
Swinging his legs, kicking to the beat, stomping in time he smiles to himself. Starting to sweat he untucks his tank top from his jeans. He tips his head back until the stomp comes up and whips his head forward when he stomps.
The words in this song always get to him, especially something that he was planning to do already… without telling anyone.
“I volunteered for the army on my birthday.” He hums along kicking in a circle and kicking Leo’s ankle just to mess with him. He laughs when Leo flips him off. Smiling as the song ends, he is panting and sweating.
“I always forget how that dance makes me feel out of shape.” Leo flings his arm over Clay's shoulder as they walk back over to the table and take gulps of their drinks. “I’m going for a smoke, anyone else?” Clay nods, Sirius and Logan follow them along with Thomas. Clay didn’t see him as a smoker but everyone has surprises.
“Light me.” Clay holds out his cig as Leo finishes lighting his own, rolling his eyes Leo does after he passes his own to Logan. Sirius came outside for some fresh air and is chatting with Thomas who also came out here for that reason. Taking a drag and leaning against the wall, he looks up at the stars that are poking through the clouds. Closing his eyes he falls back into his own world for an unknown amount of time.
“Coming back in?” Clay blinks his eyes open to see Thomas standing by himself in front of him. His heart feels like it stops beating for a moment. “I mean it is pretty nice outside, I wouldn't mind staying out here. Especially with you.” Clay choked on the drag he was taking from his cigarette when Thomas mumbles the last thing he said. He feels a large palm on his back, not patting but rubbing his back.
Clay looks at him and takes a deep breath and shrugs the hand off of him.
“Let’s go back in. this isn’t something you want, Thomas” He stumps out his cig on the bottom of his boot and pushes off the wall.
“What do you mean?” Clay looks back at him and his face softens when he sees a look of hope and confusion in Thomas's gorgeous eyes. “I mean, I’m straight… or I think I am, but maybe I’m not and I just- I don’t know anymore.” Thomas reaches out to Clay and grabs his pinky finger with his pointer and pulls Clay closer to him.
“I don’t think you are straight, maybe you forgot but I am a man.”
“I know.” Suddenly Clay's back is to the brick of the alley and rough hands are on his waist. He watches Thomas lean forward, pausing for a second to make sure this was what Clay wanted. Clay stares into his eyes then glances down at his lips. Nodding slightly he feels Thomas surge forwards and connect their lips.
It was like his blood turned to fire, a sensation he has never felt before. Their lips moved in sync with each, Clay constantly being pulled against Thomas with his greedy hands and his own arms gripping Thomas's t-shirt. After a couple of minutes they pulled away for breath and Thomas backed away.
Thomas Left. Clay went to find Reg.
Noelle needed to know.

right I don't know if you do writing requests but could you write Virgil secretly being a father too a few kids (gender doesn't matter but please do totters) and one day he is making them breakfast and gets somned then the others find out about the kids and how Virgil is a single father. (P.S I really want Patton screaming I'm a grandfather at the top off his lungs) sorry for wrong spelling by the way...
I'm so so sorry this took to long. I hope you can forgive me. I hope you like it. Also, sorry, I changed how they found out. I didn't mean to. I hope you still like it.
Virgil was a father. Not biologically, he had found them one day when going through the imagination crying and screaming. Instinctively he had picked up the children to sooth them. It had struck him as odd that a parent would leave their child stranded someone alone let alone two of their children. It made him wonder if the children were left on purpose. Still, he sat with the children for the rest of the day and waited.
By the time night fell, Virgil decided that he wasn't going to wait any longer and picked up the two children and returned to his room. He had to stay in his room more to care for them. But it wasn't much of a change from usual. This time he had no choice, the other times it was just because he wasn't accepted by the others and it would be weird to spend time in the living room if the others didn't actually want him there.
After a few weeks of taking care of the kids, Virgil finally decided to name them. With no outraged Roman screaming at him and calling him villain for taking someone's kids, he concluded that his first assumption was right. The children were really left on purpose. So he named the two Elsa and Anna.
Give him a break, he had just watched Frozen with them and they seemed to actually watch the movie for once unlike the other movies he had put in. So Elsa and Anna it was. At least until they were able to comprehend words and names. Then he would ask if they liked their names and would like to change it.
And so the years passed. Elsa and Anna grew into an adorable pair of seven year olds. Virgil felt a little bad about them having to stay in his room, but thankfully he was able to modify a portion of his realm into their own personal play room. He was never more grateful for the fact each side had their own copy of Thomas's house. He hardly had to leave his room. He could cook for the girls right in his own space without having to dodge the other's questions.
Elsa and Anna were happy girls. Virgil doted on them every chance he got. He even made them their own princess dresses. It had taken him a long time but he was able to craft the perfect Frozen dresses after the two had dropped obvious hints at wanting them. And the hours spent pricking his finger and having to study every detail of the outfits proved worth it to see the adorable joyful faces as they lit up with endless sunshine as they had unwrapped the dresses. Of course he would have to make new ones has they grew and still wanted them but he would do anything for them.
However, a few days before the twin's birthday, (the anniversary of Virgil finding them) something changed. Virgil was accepted by the light sides. Now it would become even harder to keep the girls a secret. He was expected to spend more time with the light sides. His solution? Allow the girls to spend time on their own while hooking up a buzzer they could press that would alert his phone should they ever need anything.
He knew it was probably not something a good parent would due but he was scared. He had come to care for these girls and treat them like his own. He was scared if the others found out, they would take them from him. And with that they would hate him again and then he would be alone again. He didn't want to be alone again.
------
Roman was suspicious. Virgil had gotten an alert on his phone and suddenly he had to go back to his room. It confused Roman and made him concerned all at the same time. What could Virgil be hiding? What was the alert for? And so, Roman being Roman decided he would follow Virgil to his room the next time he got an alert.
It wasn't too long after that that the two sides were sitting together playing a game of chess that Virgil got an alert and excused himself. Roman didn't put up much of a fight and followed him after a few moments. He watched Virgil go into his room and snuck in a few minutes after. He got a shiver as he stepped in but shook it off and walked out the door leading further into the anxious sides realm.
Roman carefully made his way into the hallway only to freeze as he heard Virgil's voice from downstairs. He couldn't make out what he was saying so he crept carefully to the staircase and peered down into the living room only to stop and clamp a hand over his mouth as he saw Virgil standing in his living room with two young children.
The one looked as if they had been crying while the other hugged what must have been their sibling in comfort. Virgil was taking a small wet rag and cleaning up the crying child's knee where it seemed to have been scraped. "Okay," Virgil said softly. "There you go. Next time, call me if you're hungry, okay? Please don't try climbing onto the counters."
"I'm sorry, Papa."
Virgil's face softened even more and Roman realized he had never seen Virgil's face this sort of way before. "Its okay Anna. You're an adventurous little one! You just have to be a little more careful." Virgil reached forward and pulled Anna into his lap along with the other child. "How about, tonight, you two help me with dinner, does that sound fun?"
The two children nodded excitedly, the scrap forgotten. "Yes!! That sounds like so much fun! Can we make mac & cheese, please?!" They chorused.
Virgil laughed. "Of course we can my little gargoyles!"
"I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN!?!?!??!!" An excited and joyfully bubbly voice shouted from behind Roman. Roman screamed and tumbled down the stairs and landed with an "oof" and looked up to see an excited Patton and shocked and scared Virgil and children. Roman had forgotten to shut the door to Virgil's room.
-------
It had been about a month since the others had discovered Anna and Elsa but everything was good. They didn't try to take them from Virgil. In fact they voiced how proud they were of Virgil for saving them.
Ever since then, the girls had been allowed to leave Virgil's room and spend with the others in the living room in the main mindspace. They were doted on even more now that the others knew about them. In fact, Virgil had just left Roman's room after being yanked inside to be asked if the two would like a real life Olaf. Patton constantly wisked them away to bake cookies and make crafts. Logan read to them often and took up the role as their teacher. The girls were happy. And that made Virgil happy. He couldn't have asked for anything better to happen to him.

When his best friend wins a scholarship for a one-year exchange in Europe, Virgil doesn’t think much of it.
Logan is incredibly smart, without a doubt the most gifted student their college has to offer -and he’s double majoring in Astrophysics and Chemical Engineering, so that’s no small feat.
So yeah, he’s not surprised when Logan -who’s also his roommate, since they’re both broke, caffeine-addicted college students- gets home one evening, a strange envelope in his hands, and announces he has been given the so agonized scholarship. Virgil simply raises an eyebrow at the barely-concealed look of relief in the other’s eyes, mumbling a smug “I told you so” accompanied by the best shit-eating grin he can muster and finger guns.
Their third roommate, on the other hand, is a totally different story.
Patton basically throws himself at Logan, squealing in delight while rambling about how proud he is. He then insists on celebrating, and they end up having an impromptu movie night, complete with pizza and a batch of Patton’s infamous cookies -which end up in Logan’s stomach after not even an hour, for the hidden amusement of his two roommates.
After that, it’s a blur of finals to take, forms to fill and planning to get done -because it’s Logan we’re talking about, and Virgil’s pretty sure he’s already got at least half of his year abroad panned out.
Before they know it, the semester has come and gone and they’re standing in the middle of the airport, Patton bawling his eyes out on Logan’s shoulder while basically smothering him in a hug. Virgil limits himself to an amused smile, to which Logan answers with an exaggerated eye-roll -even him, always the logical, can’t really hide the fondness in his eyes as he tries to calm Patton enough to at least be able to breathe properly.
Logan’s parents watch from afar, letting the boys have their moment. Then, the intercom calls Logan’s flight, and it’s time for the very last goodbyes.
+++
It takes them a while to adjust.
Patton and Virgil, now being each other’s only roommates, work to find a new routine that doesn’t have a Logan-shaped hole in it -easier said than done, that’s for sure.
As for Logan, well, his first weeks are a jumble of moving in, unpacking boxes, visiting the campus to get accustomed with his new surroundings and figuring out his new schedule -not considering the quite influent change of time zone, which takes him a while to get used to.
But the three of them are nothing but determined, and it doesn’t take them long to figure out a somewhat solid schedule for video calls that doesn’t force any of them to wake up at the ass-crack of dawn or staying awake until some ungodly hour of the night.
With this system put in place, it’s certainly easier to deal with the distance. They’ve never been separated for so long, their trio having been an integral part of their life since middle school. It’s hard for all of them, even if Virgil often tries to brush it off and Logan downright does everything he can to ignore it.
It helps more than they like to admit, having somebody like Patton in their group. He barely conceals his feelings, openly expressing them and giving both Virgil and Logan a chance to talk about their own emotional conundrums without directly addressing them.
And so another year comes and goes, they’re juniors in college, Virgil has somehow gained a boyfriend who’s more caffeine-addicted than him, and Logan is finally, finally home.
Everything’s fine, right?
Not quite.
+++
“Look!” Virgil whispers, shaking the person sitting next to him, “he’s doing it again!”
Remy grumbles, raising his head from its place on the desk to glare at his boyfriend, “what is it now?”
“It’s Logan!” Virgil explains, gesturing to the boy sitting a few rows in front of them. Remy doesn’t get what all the fuss is, really. Logan looks pretty normal to him, sitting straight -the only straight thing about the guy, probably- as he seems to be diligently following the ongoing lecture. How does he even do it anyway? It’s just so boring, the teacher has been talking incessantly for more than an hour now and the only thing Remy wants to do is take a fucking nap-
“He’s using his phone-” Virgil keeps going, completely oblivious to his boyfriend’s wandering thoughts- “and he’s texting someone!”
Well, now that Virgil has pointed it out, Remy can see the corner of Logan’s phone peeking out from between his notes. Huh, that’s strange.
“Wait just a sec, how do you know he’s texting? I can barely see the phone as it is, let alone guess if he’s actually using it or not.”
“That’s because you’re exactly behind him, idiot,” Virgil grumbles, eyes still fixed on his best friend’s back, “he’s got an app open, I can’t tell which one exactly but it’s definitely for texting. I’ve known Logan since middle school and he’s never used his phone in class, not once. What the hell?”
“Chill, Vee,” Remy yawns, settling his head back on the desk, “ maybe he’s finally loosening up a little. It sure as hell looks like that year abroad was good for him, uh?”
Virgil mutters something unintelligible under his breath, clearly still displeased, but he knows he really can’t, in good conscience, dispute Remy’s claim.
Because it’s obvious that, while it can't be denied that the previous year has been a stressful time for all parts involved, the Logan who has come back is different from the Logan they said goodbye to, that day at the airport.
It’s not a bad change, per se.
He’s just- softer, around the edges. He looks calmer, more perceptive of the world around him. His temper seems to have subsided -for the joy of literally everyone, doesn’t matter what Patton says- and he’s obviously much more patient.
He looks… content, Virgil thinks that’s the word he’s looking for. And that’s a good thing, don’t get him wrong! But no one can deny that Logan has changed, and change isn’t exactly something Virgil works well with.
It scares him because Logan has been a constant in Virgil’s life for almost as long as he can remember and now he’s different, somehow.
But he also looks happy, so Virgil just deals with his anxious discomfort, because he sure as hell won’t be the one taking that away from Logan.
He just wishes his best friend would tell him what the hell is going on.
+++
When they’re finally let out of the lecture -for the immense joy of Remy, who had immediately dashed out of his seat and yelled “Starbucks time, bitches!!” before bolting out of the door- Logan is obviously still in whatever conversation he has been keeping up for most of the class, checking his phone every few minutes.
The two of them are standing near some benches across from the science building, waiting for Patton to get out of his last class. It’s the perfect opportunity to ask Logan who exactly he’s talking to, but alas, anxiety is a bitch and it very much likes to make Virgil’s life a living hell.
So Virgil resigns himself to standing in silence beside his friend, wallowing in his curiosity as he begrudgingly watches Logan text the mysterious person with a strange smile on his face -which only makes Virgil more curious because he’s never seen Logan smile like that before, damn it, and he just wants to understand what the fuck is going on.
“V, Lolo!” Patton’s voice startles them both out of their thoughts, giving Virgil half of a heart attack and making Logan almost drop his phone.
“Hey, Popstar.” “Salutations, Patton.”
“Sorry, I’m late,” Patton giggles, quickly approaching the two, “Dr. Picani got us so invested in today’s lecture, we all forgot to check the time!”
“Lucky you,” Remy grins, coming up behind Virgil and draping an arm over his shoulders, “our lecture was so boring I slept through most of it.”
Virgil -who really doesn’t like getting startled every five minutes, thank you very much- turns around and punches his boyfriend’s arm, glaring.
“Ouch!” Remy yelps, fumbling with his coffee, “What was that for?!”
“Maybe next time you’ll think twice before sneaking up on me like that, asshole,” he grumbles, “also, you always sleep through our lectures.”
Cue the Offended Gay Noises™, completed by Remy dramatically draping himself over his boyfriend. “The slander! The Betrayal!”
“Stop being a drama queen, you know I’m right. And get off of me!”
Patton watches the two bicker with a smile on his face, far too used to their antics to be worried.
“Ah, young love,” he sighs dreamily, “they’re just too cute, right Lo?”
Logan, however, seems to be completely unaware of what is happening. He’s frowning at his phone as if it has somehow offended him, typing message after message at an alarming speed.
“Logan?” Patton calls, trying to catch the other’s attention, “you okay?”
“What?” Logan startles, his head shooting up in confusion, “oh, my apologies Patton, I was not paying attention.”
“Yeah, I noticed,” Patton chuckles, “is everything alright? I’ve never seen you use your phone so much, and you looked quite troubled back there.”
“Ah, no-” another chime from his phone makes Logan pause, groaning in clear frustration as he quickly answers yet another message.
“Apologies for worrying you, Patton-” he finally says pocketing his phone and pointedly ignoring its continuous chiming- “but I assure you, there is nothing to worry about. I’m just dealing with a rather obnoxious person who apparently enjoys making me lose what little patience I have.”
Patton cocks his head on one side, looking deep in thought before an all-too-familiar smirk slowly starts spreading on his face.
“Don’t you mean-” he says, barely keeping his laugh at bay- “that your patience is-”
“Patton Morgan Hart don’t you dare finish that sentence or so help me-”
“-infinitesimal?”
Logan lets out a loud groan of despair, Patton becoming a giggling mess beside him.
“You will never let this go, will you?” he asks, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Nope!” Patton grins.
“Are we making fun of Logan?” Virgil pipes up, “because I want in on that.”
“Can we change the subject? Please?”
“Don’t worry gurl, I gotchu,” Remy grins, eyes glinting behind his dark shades, “because I just remembered what I came back for, and this is a juicy one guys.”
“What do you mean?”
“Apparently we got a new entry from the exchange program and let me tell you, the guy is hot. He’s very good looking, smooth as fuck and I’m like, 90% sure he’s ripped or something. Like, totally illegal, I swear.”
Beside him, Virgil visibly stiffens, arm tightening around the others side, “and you know that because…?”
Remy huffs out a laugh at that, visibly amused by his boyfriend’s sudden jealousy.
“Relax babe-” he basically purrs, kissing his cheek- “you’re the only one I want. I just saw him in front of the main building earlier, he was very difficult to miss. Almost the whole campus was ogling him some way or another. I think he was actually searching for someone, I didn’t pay much attention.”
Logan looks at Remy with a thoughtful expression, clearly pondering something in his head.
“Out of curiosity,” he finally asks, choosing his words carefully, “could you describe this new exchange student?”
“Why, you interested?” Remy grins, wiggling his eyebrows, “careful Logan, your gay is showing.”
“Remy,” Logan growls -actually growls, what the fuck gurl- in annoyance, glaring daggers at him.
“Okay, okay!” Remy relents, raising his hands in surrender, “sheesh gurl, no need to get so worked up!”
He then taps his chin, thinking about his earlier encounter, “he’s on the tall side, wide shoulders, pretty sure he’s a theatre kid because he really looks like one. Brown hair, green eyes, I think he may be either Spanish or Italian? I don’t know, he had somewhat of an accent but I was too far away to be sure.”
“Thank god you didn’t pay much attention, uh?” Virgil mutters, rolling his eyes. Remy snorts, shoving him lightly.
Too busy with their playful teasing, the couple doesn’t notice the way Logan has suddenly stiffened, eyes wide as his mind seems to have suddenly screeched to a halt. It, however, doesn’t go unnoticed by Patton, who gives him a concerned look.
“Lo, are you alri-”
“Aha! Ti ho trovato finalmente!”
Four heads snap up in unison, turning towards the new voice. Standing a few feet away, the infamous new exchange student shoots them a grin, hands on his hips and green eyes trained on their group.
“Niente ‘ciao’? Did I finally manage to leave you speechless, nerd?”
Logan lets out something akin to a squeak -which he’ll forever deny having made- cheeks blazing red as he scrambles to regain his composure.
“R- Roman? What- what are you doing here?!”
Roman lets out a laugh, approaching the group until he’s standing right in front of Logan -the others seem to be too dumbfounded to react, one, because wasn’t kidding when he said the guy was hot, damn, and two, because they’ve never seen Logan so flustered before and honestly they’re more than a little confused right now.
“I may or may not have made a request for a semester abroad like, a week before you had to fly back? I got everything confirmed and ready to go just a month or so ago, so I decided to surprise you,” he shrugs, looking somewhat unsure, “so, uh, sorpresa?”
Logan blinks owlishly at him, clearly still trying to make sense to the situation. Then, he lets out a groan, hiding his bright red face behind his hands.
“You’re a pain in the ass and I hate you, stronzo.”
Roman laughs, shoulders slumping in relief, “God, how much I missed you.”
Then, under the three’s identical stunned gazes, he grabs Logan -who lets out a startled yelp- and dips him with a flourish, before winking and kissing him square on the lips.
Logan, who until that very moment had been as stiff as a wooden board, immediately melts in Roman’s arms, hands moving to gently cup the other’s face as he starts eagerly kissing back.
Snapping out of his stupor, Remy lets out a loud whoop, joined by Virgil’s sputtering and a very flustered Patton.
“Hello there, luce dei miei occhi,” Roman murmurs when the finally separate, smiling widely as Logan looks at him through half-lidded eyes.
Huffing in mock annoyance, Logan rolls his eyes and wiggles out of his arms, pointedly ignoring his still burning cheeks.
“Stop being so mushy,” he grumbles, fixing his tie.
Roman grins at that, looping an arm around Logan’s side, “Please sweetheart, we both know you love it when I'm mushy.”
“Okay okay okay, what the everloving fuck is going on here?!” Virgil suddenly screeches, breaking the little bubble that had formed around the two in a million pieces.
Finally recalling that his friends are, in fact, present and have probably seen the whole scene, Logan suddenly looks like a deer caught in the headlights, blush coming back full force as he takes in Remy’s shit-eating grin, Virgil scandalized expression and Patton flustered face.
Seemingly unfazed by the whole scenario, Roman presses their bodies together and gives the three a dazzling grin, green eyes twinkling in barely hidden amusement.
“Ciao a tutti! My name’s Roman, I’m a theatre major and I’m also Logan’s very handsome Italian boyfriend!”
“You have a boyfriend and you didn’t tell us?!”
Logan groans, hiding his face in Roman’s chest as his asshole of a boyfriend lets out a boisterous laugh.
Ooh boy, this is going to take a while.

Happy 67th Birthday, Dad!
Today, 20th May 2019, would have been your 67th birthday. It has been six years since you left us, and it hasn’t been an easy adjustment for me, even though our relationship was tumultuous at best and wrought with serious lack of understanding, communication, and acceptance until about maybe the last two to three years of your life. But isn’t that how things go with offspring, that they don’t really begin to accept their parents for the flawed humans that they are until themselves reach a maturity within their own journey through adulthood?
I feel robbed of your presence. I still do.
One moment you were discussing retiring in North Carolina next to your brother George Thomas, and the next, you were in a cancer treatment center in Philadelphia that honestly had no fucking clue what they were doing. I still feel angry because you literally passed away before I found the knowledge of CBD oil and its ability to kill cancer cells within the body, even those that have been developing over the span of multiple decades. I feel like I missed out on telling you to take copious amounts of CBD oil while abiding by a vegan diet as I know for sure that it would have greatly extended your life while giving us time to find other solutions.
But time waits for no man. It never has and it never will. And that is what eats away at me every time I wake up and head to class, or participate in a project to receive top marks, or earn honors recognition for my hard work, determination, ambition, and innovation.
It felt heart-wrenching when my first college graduation actually fell on what would have been your 65th birthday, the age of retirement, because you weren’t there to boost me up with your pride. To know what more that I’ve accomplished since then, from graduate school and my move abroad, to multiple invitations to merit honors societies, to an honors distinction in my degree, and my next graduation ceremony next Friday...it all feels more bitter than sweet. You won’t be there when they call my name incorrectly (as usual, because these are white folk lol), to see me walk and receive my accolades, to celebrate afterwards, to prepare for Scotland, or see me off at Logan as I board my first flight to Dublin and then to Edinburgh from there.
Not having you here doesn’t seem right or just, but rain falls on the just and the unjust, right? These stupid fucking platitudes do nothing to alleviate the anger, regret, depression, and deep sadness that I feel because you’re not physically here to witness and celebrate all of this.
Time...waits for no man and...I will always regret not doing any of this while you were here. Even though I know that you’re proud, immensely, of who I am going to become, it still sucks that I can’t see your vitiligo-wrought face grow into a genuine smile as we collectively wish you a happy birthday.
P.S.: please come and tend to your psychotic bff that you left behind because she needs it and she’s getting on my nerves.

Happy Birthday, But We’re Asleep
Title: Happy Birthday, But We’re Asleep
Fandom: Thomas Sanders (Sander Sides)
Characters: Roman (Creativity), Virgil (Anxiety), Logan (Logic), Patton (Morality)
Relationships: Platonic LAMP
Universe: Canon, except the sides can physically manifest themselves without Thomas being present.
Warnings (that are also tagged in some form): None, I think! Let me know if I missed any!
Word Count: 636
Series: One-Shot
Note From the Author: So, here it is. The story that has been sitting in my inbox for the longest time. This was actually for Thomas’s Birthday this past year, which I hope explains the setting of it. In celebration of my reaching 100 followers, I finished it, and now I’m posting it. I hope you guys enjoy what I hope to the be the first story in a long line of them!
~~~~~~~~
“Virgil! Where are you?” Roman yelled at 3 in the morning, SSST (Sanders Sides Standard Time).
“He is probably asleep, Roman. Like we all should be.” Logan said, nursing his third cup of coffee. Patton agreed with a yawn.
“No, I’m here. What’s so important that it couldn’t wait until Thomas was up, Princey?”
Roman was practically buzzing with excitement. “Because it has to be a surprise, Virgil!”
“Roman, we are, quite literally, inside his head. We can’t exactly keep a secret like whatever you have planned.” Logan said tiredly.
“That’s why we’re doing it while he’s asleep!” Virgil and Logan shared a look, but Patton was suddenly much more awake.
“Oh, are we doing something for his birthday?” Roman pointed at Patton.
“Precisely, my precious Patton! You shall work on the cake, I made sure that he got all of the ingredients!”
“Oh, is that why you had me interrupt his otherwise perfectly normal shopping list, last week?” Logan questioned. Roman nodded, an infectious grin on his face that quickly spread to the Left Brain.
“What should Virgil and I do, then?”
“Logan, you’ll clean up the lower floor of the apartment. That will be his first surprise! Then Virgil, you and I will create a breakfast fit for a king!”
And with that, the Sides manifested themselves in the kitchen of Thomas’ house. Logan looked at the living room and grimaced. The living room was, frankly, a mess, due to late night Parks and Rec binges and early morning video planning
“I will be starting there.”
“I’ll help while I wait for these two to finish the breakfast, Logy Bear!” Patton said, following Logan into the living room.
“Well, then let’s get started!” Roman declared, racing to the fridge. Virgil followed behind, slower.
“What are we making, Princey?”
“Well, my Dark and Stormy Knight, we are going to be making-”
~Haphazard Switch to Patton and Logan~
“Where do we even start with this?” Logan mumbled. He turned around, startled by the noise that Patton had made with a trash bag that he had pulled from a box.
“Probably the trash.” Patton remarked, surprisingly chipper. Logan smiled and nodded, both moving quickly around the room, filling the bag by the time that they ran out of trash to pick up.
Next, they picked up the pillows and put them back on the couch. “One of these days, I will not let Roman partake in one of those pillow fights.” Logan remarked.
Patton giggled, knowing that Logan wasn’t actually going to. He, like Virgil and Patton, liked watching the pillow fights and how excited Roman got about them.
Around forty minutes later, the living room and stairs were all cleaned up, and Patton and Logan made their way back into the kitchen, to see a beautiful breakfast sitting on the counter, and an extremely flour covered Roman standing next to a not as flour covered Virgil.
Logan threw his hands in the air. “What happened?”
“Pancakes and waffles got kind of messy.” Virgil laughed.
“Apparently. Is there any flour left for Patton to bake a cake?”
Virgil pointed. “Two bags. Need any help, Dad?”
Patton smiled. “No thanks! You two go get cleaned up, and get some rest. It’s still only-” he paused to look at the clock on the stove. “Four in the morning! All three of you, go. I won’t be two hours!”
Virgil and Logan tried to protest, but both were clearly to tired to try very hard, and left soon after Roman.
Sure enough, after two hours, Patton had finished making and decorating a cake. He yawned as he finished putting the cake in the fridge, and scribbling out a note that he left next to the breakfast.
“Happy birthday, kiddo! Hope you enjoy our surprise for you! Have a great day!
Signed, with love, obviously, The Sanders Sides”
3. Saving Family - Ankle Joan and Ent Talyn
Here’s the next chapter, lovelies! Still trying to work out a schedule. I was planning on updating yesterday or Wednesday so trhis doesn’t overlap with other stories, but Fridays are most likely when I’m going to try and have chapters out. Not every week, but maybe once or twice a month, depending on how everything is going. I might try and have a Halloween story out with this soon but I hld no promises.
Please PM/DM or comment if you want to be tagged.
SUMMARY: Birthday twins get a surprise from their favorite Ankle and Ent.
((P.S. Ankle and Ent came from another person I remember reading off of. I do not remember who they are, but their work basically gave me the idea for Ankle Joan and Ent Talyn.))
TWs: Staying up later than should(?), nothing else I can really think of, please tell me if there is something else, again, not exceptionally well at TWs
TAGLIST: @fandomsandanythingelse @mylifeisaweirdmess @storytellerofuntoldlegends @something-renewed @impalasgrace98 @danyulsdimple @ccecode @spottybob @ninjago2020 @ab-artist @cryingbecauseilovethesides
~*~*~*~*~*~
Monday, June 13th
8:36 a.m.
Logan and Virgil were still asleep as Patton began to leave.
“Take care of them till Joan and Talyn get here.” Patton reprimanded the two again. “They should be here around nine. Please make sure the twins are up before then and do not tell them that Joan and Talyn are coming over.”
“Okay.” Thomas said as Roman nodded. “When are you going to be home from the cafe?”
“I should be home by four if I’m lucky.” Patton said, glancing at his watch. “Oh! Before I scamper off to work; remember to get the twins down for a little nap around noon. The two were up late last night again. I could hear Logan ranting to Virgil about some new book that made no sense, I think?”
“That sounds like Lo alright.” Roman said with a small smile. “We will get them down for a nap then.”
Patton nodded, glancing at the time. He needed to leave right about now if he wanted to hold to being home at by four.
“I’ll see you guys in a little bit, okay?” Patton said to his teen brothers. “And don’t--”
“Don’t open the door for anyone except Joan and Talyn “ Roman said, stopping Patton. “We know, my dearest brother.”
“You should probably go.” Thomas said. “We’ll be fine. Don’t worry about us, Pat.”
Patton nodded, letting Thomas push him out the door. He stood outside of the apartment for a moment. He looked between the two, pausing.
“Thank you for dealing with this.” Patton said. “I know today is special for them but I couldn’t get this darned day off.”
“It’s okay, Patton.” Thomas said. “The twins will understand. “
“Yes, I do believe the two young princes will understand why you’re not here.” Roman added. “They are smarter than they seem.”
Patton nodded, looking between the two then the time. He sighed, rubbing at his eyes as he saw he needed to leave.
“I love you, take care of your brothers.” Patton said. “And Thomas, no cooking or baking. I don’t need a call to work saying that there was a fire again.”
“Love you too, Pat.” Roman said, Thomas whining at Patton’s comment. “See you later.”
Patton nodded and left, closing the apartment door. He quickly hurried down to his car, wanting to make it to the cafe in time for his shift.
Meanwhile, Thomas and Roman had settled themselves on the couch, listening to the sound of the people below them. Not a lot was happening from what they could tell. Roman curled up on the couch, pulling a blanket over his lap as a cold draft drifted through the room.
“I’m going to go wake Lo and Virge in a moment.” Thomas said, flicking on the TV. The early morning news was on. “Keep an ear out for Joan and Talyn, will you?”
“Of course.” Roman said, leaning against the back of the couch. “Send the twins out here once you wake them, though? You know how they are if you leave them back there together.”
“Yeah, they both fall asleep again.” Thomas said, shaking his head with a fond smile. “I’ll be right back out with two leeches.”
Roman sent a small laugh after Thomas, nodding. Two leeches they will be. Thomas walked off towards the twins room as Roman turned back to the TV. Roman listened as he heard both Logan and Virgil whine loudly. It was strange they could be heard out in the living room since they were both typically quiet children. It was a few more minutes before Thomas walked out to the living room with two armfuls of sleepy twins.
“Guess who isn’t happy to be woken up.” Thomas sang as he handed Logan to Roman.
“I’m going to take the guess as both of them.” Roman replied, slipping Logan under the blanket as his younger brother let out a yawn. Virgil yawned as well, curling up in Thomas’ arms.
“You’ve guessed correct.” Thomas said, sitting on the opposite side of the couch.
“It’s too early for anything.” Logan whined, hiding underneath the blanket.
“It’s almost nine in the morning, little prince.” Roman said, pulling the blanket back.
“Yeah, too early.” Virgil added, rubbing his eyes.
“Were you two up late again?” Thomas asked again.
“Define ‘late’.” Logan muttered, sitting up.
“Ten p.m. for you twins.” Thomas retaliated, sitting Virgil up like Logan. “So what time did you two actually go to sleep?”
Logan and Virgil stared at each other, making noncommittal motions as they went. Thomas and Roman looked up at each other in confusion as the twins seemed to have their own conversation.
“Maybe.. Two a.m.?” Virgil yawned. “Maybe later? We weren’t tired.”
“And why might that be?” Roman interrogated.
“We were excited about today.” Logan said. “But we didn’t realize what time we had stayed up to.”
“We really need to start getting you two on a schedule.” Thomas hummed, turning down the TV. “Staying up late like that isn’t good for you.”
“But it’s summer, Thomas.” Virgil whined.
“Doesn’t mean a thing.” Thomas said. “If we don’t get you on a sleep schedule now, then it’ll be more difficult to get you on one when school is closer.”
“T-”
There was a soft knock on the door. Thomas stood, handing Virgil to Roman. The middle child took the other twin and bundled them together.
“Is that Patton?” Logan asked, looking at the doorway. “Did he forget something?”
“Patton left for work.” Thomas said. He slowly peeked through the eyehole and smiled. “But there are two other people who might have forgotten something from last night.”
The twins perked up, seeming more awake than they had been in the past few minutes. They jumped down from the couch, racing over to the door as Thomas opened it.
“Ankle Joan! Ent Talyn!” They exclaimed, seeing the two friends of Patton.
“Hi, there kiddos.” Joan smiled, stooping down to pick both of them up. “Can you guess what today is?”
“Monday?” Logan said slowly. Talyn laughed behind Joan.
“No.” Talyn said. “It’s your birthday, silly!”
The twins looked at each other, confused. Logan was counting back days while Virgil was thinking about the last time he looked at through calendar.
“Yes, you two weirdos.” Thomas chuckled. “It’s your birthday.”
“Lo, we’re seven!” Virgil exclaimed happily.
“And we have an entire day planned out.” Joan said. “Have any of you eaten yet?”
“None of us have.” Thomas said. “Those two just got up.”
“Really now?” Joan said, looking between the two. “Just got up you say?”
“We stayed up late again.” Virgil said sheepishly.
“And that means you’re taking a nap later today.” Thomas said, ruffling their hair. The twins complained, batting his hands away. Roman chuckled, watching from the living room.
“Patton said?” Talyn asked.
“Yeah.” Roman commented. “Right before he left.”
“Plans changing a little bit then.” Joan said, setting the twins down. “We’ll go to the park early, then come back here around noon so the two of you can nap a little before Patton comes home.”
“Nooo!” The two whined.
Talyn knelt down next to them, motioning them close. The twins shuffled forward and they wrapped their arms around them. The other three tried to listen in but couldn’t hear anything.
“Do we have a deal?” Talyn asked, loud enough for the others to hear now. The twins nodded quickly, smiling. “Alright, now go and get changed, we’ll deal with making breakfast.”
They nodded, then quickly turned and ran. Thomas watched them in amazement as they fled to their room, the door slamming shut after them.
“What in the world did you tell them?” Thomas asked, looking back at Talyn.
“That is between me and those two angels or there.” Talyn said, standing. They brushed off their jeans before picking up the bags again. “Go on and get ready as well. Joan and I will deal with breakfast.”
Birthday
More Princiety! You know the drill.
Word count: 903
Warnings: None! Just a short fluffy cute fic!
Today was Roman's eighth birthday.
The problem was that it was Thomas, Logan, Patton, and Virgil's birthday as well.
And Roman had somehow forgotten.
So that was how all of the sides and Thomas were outside in the field playing Dragon Witch except for Roman, who, if you asked them, had been 'feeling lightheaded' and 'was off to take a nap'. What he was really doing was scrambling around his room trying to figure out some last-minute presents.
His room mostly consisted of shelves full of fairy tales, disney posters, his crown collection, and his prize possession; a small jackknife that theoretically would help him battle monsters when he was old enough to go on quests. But he couldn't give that away, and besides, if he even showed it around Logan the logical side would take it away, as he didn't trust Roman with a weapon.
Thinking of Patton he gazed around his room. A poster caught his eye; Air Bud. The movie had been released only four months before, but he had already gotten a poster. He knew that Patton liked dogs, so it was the perfect movie! The prince-like character stood on top of his bed and began to peal the tape off of the corners. He hadn't really liked the movie anyway. He rolled the poster up and held it with a rubber band.
Now he needed something for Logan. He immediately hurried off to the bookshelf, thinking that if there was nothing worthwhile there then there wasn't anything anywhere. At least, not that he could get his hands on. Beauty and the Beast wasn't like him at all, neither was Snow White... Alice in Wonderland maybe? It was the thickest book he had... He pulled it off the shelf and laid it next to Patton's present.
Deciding to do Virgil last, he gave another glance around to look for Thomas' gift. What did Thomas like... He liked his friends.... He liked... Disney and puppies... Why was it so hard to think of a gift!? Fed up with pacing, he grabbed his spider plant, (who he had named Darby), and decided to give her away, just to have something to give to Thomas.
Then Virgil. Roman had no IDEA what Virgil liked, except insulting him. But Roman had a hunch that the dark side had a light side. He stood up on his tiptoes, grabbing his favorite crown out of his collection. He felt nervous about giving it away, but he figured it would be okay. It then struck him that he should put a note on the gifts.
He unrolled Patton's poster, grabbing a sharpie from his bed stand's drawer, ignoring the purple thundercloud patch in the corner that was usually his destination when he opened the drawer, and wrote;
Happy birthday Pat! You're my star!
He opened the book for Logan;
Happy birthday Logan! Remember to eat and not just stay in your room reading this in one sitting like you normally do!
For Thomas, he ripped off a piece of paper and wrote;
Happy birthday Thomas! The plant's name is Darby!
For Virgil, he considered what he would write carefully.
Happy birthday Virgil!
His face heated up as he wrote the next line.
Happy birthday Virgil! You're my prince!
He was about to stand to go get the others, but something stopped him as he looked at the crown sadly. he didn't want to let it go! Then he had an idea.
Happy birthday Virgil! You're my prince!
P.S. Could I have the crown back sometime? I really love it.
He grinned. There! He jumped up and opened his door, running into the living room.
"Hey guys!"
It was Patton who responded, his eyes bright.
"Roman! Are you feeling better?"
"I feel great, thanks! We should do presents now!"
"I feel as t-though now would be a good time to do that." Logan chimed in, smile wide.
Thomas squealed.
"Presents!"
Even Anxiety was smiling.
"I'll go get mine!" Roman ran to his room and gathered everything in his small arms. As he came back into the bigger room, dropping his presents in each respective pile, he apologized for not wrapping them. "You guys should open mine first!" after that he added, "Cause they're not wrapped an' all."
"Okay!" Patton said happily.
"Yours' the poster!"
Pat grabbed the poster, taking off the rubber band and unravelling it with care. Much to the small prince's enjoyment, the father-like side gasped.
"I loved Air Bud!" He looked up contentedly. "Thanks Princey!" Roman smiled at the nickname.
"Okay, okay, Lo's turn now!" Without him having to tell him, Logan knew his was the book. He picked it up and studied the cover, grinning.
"Alice in Wonderland. U-Unabridged version! Thanks Roman, this will help me expand my v-vocabulary!"
"Yup! Thomas, now you!" He stood up and grabbed the spider plant, carefully reading the label.
"Woah, a plant! She's so pretty!!!" Roman giggled.
"Your go, Virge!"
"Yup." He held the beautiful crown in his hand, a grin and slight blush on his cheeks as he read the tag. Getting an idea, Roman jumped up, took the crown from his hands, and placed in on the darker sides' head. It drooped to one side adorably, making Patton laugh. "I don't think it quite fits yet, Roman."
"That's Prince Roman to you, Virgil!"
"That's King Virgil to you, Prince!"
"Fair enough, my Prince."
"Hey!"
We Need To Talk- Jonah Marais
Important authors note below
Warning long imagine ahead!
Jonah Marais
--
"Look, I'm not saying you're repulsive, I'm just saying I can't seem to look at you without thinking of punching you in the face and kick your ass." The tone of your voice was laced with such hatred to your now ex. A coffee table between your bodies. You just caught your boyfriend in bed with your so-called-friend.
"Babe, let me explain." He looked at you with worry written on his face.
"Okay, fine, explain to me why I just walked in on you fucking my friend!" you raised your voice, not caring if your neighbors heard you two fight.
"You spend more time with that precious band of yours than you do with me!" he shouted back.
"I'm their publicist! It's my job!" You shouted back, last time you two fought it was because of your careers high attention demands. You were a very well known publicist to many people. But your most recent client is a new boy band. They were literally the same age as you. You were such a young publicist, but it wasn't strange you had been doing this since basically birth. Your parents being the biggest publicists agency out there in L.A.
"It's always your job! You never make time for me!" He shouted.
"So you go and fuck my friend!? How does that make sense?!" You were beyond pissed. Within the short few months of getting to know the boys, you grew extremely close to them. You do admit you spend more time with them than any other client you have. You have an actual connection with them. They are in your age group. 16-19.
"You cannot stand there and blame me for this! You and I both know you cheated first! I saw you and Jonah kissing! At your 19th birthday party! On the roof. I saw you! He kissed you and you kissed him back!" He had tears falling down his face.
"I didn't kiss him back. he kissed me! I told him I had a boyfriend." You sighed. You can't blame the end of your relationship all on him. You had to take some responsibility.
"Just admit it! You love him more than me!" His face red with anger.
"Fine! Yes! I fell in love with Jonah!" You had never said you loved anyone other than your parents. Whenever Aaron said he loved you, you would say 'me too.' or 'ditto' or sometimes even 'right back atcha' You two had only been together for a few months.
You were both panting. He never actually thought you did have such strong feelings for the band member. He never wanted for it to be true. But here you were, telling him you did love the Why Don't We band member.
"Did you ever even love me?" He whispered. You looked to the ground. Not wanting to deny nor confirm.
"I have to go. I have a meeting with Logan and the boys." You said, wanting to leave this emotionally hard situation.
"Answer me!" He shouted at you, spit flying towards you and landing on the glass table.
"No! I never loved you!" You raised your voice, answering immediately. You grabbed your maverick back pack, cell phone and keys. Walking towards the door.
"When you come back, you will pack your stuff up and leave. I will take your name off the lease tomorrow. And you will never hear from me or see me. Because you're dead to me." He gritted, turning towards to the bedroom.
As you walked to the elevator you pulled your phone out and sent Jonah a quick message.
Me: We need to talk.
Jonah: Okay whats wrong?
read at 8:10 PM
Jonah: Y/N, you have me worried.
Jonah: Y/N whats wrong?
Jonah: Y/N answer me
Jonah: Please?
read at 8:28 PM
Me: I'm on my way to your place
Me: Everything is okay. I promise.
Jonah: OK
Jonah: Drive safely
read at 8:32 PM
When you arrived at the house you walked to the door, the door opening and out comes Jonah. he pulled you into a tight embrace. He sighed as you pulled apart.
"What happened?" He asked, looking into your eyes that he had fallen head over heels for.
"I caught Aaron fucking Dacy in our bed." You stated, not being phased by it. Jonahs worried expression turned imminently to anger in less than 2.5 seconds.
"It's okay though because I did something today I have never done before!" You smiled up at him. His expression switching over to confusion.
"What?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"I finally admitted my true feelings about someone."
"Who? What feelings?" He asked, not wanting to be disappointed but also wanting to be a good friend and hearing you out.
"For you." You paused, his eyes whipping from your feet to your eyes.
"I love you, Jonah. I finally admitted it to myself tonight. Aaron asked me if I loved you and I said I had fa-" Your ranted was interrupted by Jonah's lips crashing into yours. Instantly shutting you up. You leaned into the kiss more. Your hand going to the nape of his neck as his went to your waist, pulling you closer to his body. He tilted his head a little to the right, deepening the kiss. At first, it was sweet and passionate now all you felt was lust. Jonah pulled away before anything else could happen outside in the middle of the driveway.
"I love you too, Y/N. I'm in love with you too." He panted, trying to control his breathing, you both were. Panting like crazy, that kiss took your breath away.
"Good." You smiled up at Jonah, his smile visible from the moon.
"Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked, his arms still wrapped around your waist, your hands still in his hair.
"Yes, of course!" You exclaimed, giggling at his smile.
"By the way, I need a place to stay for a while, can I crash here for a couple of days?" You asked, earning a laugh from Jonah.
"Only if you are a little OCD like Jack and Daniel." He laughed, making you giggle as well. "No, I'm just joking. Of course, you can crash here for a bit."
Hello, my beautiful people!
It's Karen here! I just finished reading an authors note from one of my favorite WDW imagines book. I feel like I should just post this to let you all know.
I'm here for you.
If you need me, I'm here.
You can DM me and maybe I'll give you my number. Because Wattpad had a terrible system for me for some reason. I don't get notifications for private messages, just emails.
But if you need me for anything I'll be there.
I have a small story time for you.
Since I just randomly said "I'm here for you"
I was diagnosed as a high-risk depressed teenager with a high risk of anxiety and moderate PTSD. In the past four years, I have lost at least 6 people that had some sort of hold on who I am.
I lost a very kind hearted friend my freshman year of high school to a heart condition.
I lost my grandfather my sophomore year in high school to cancer.
I lost my grandmother my junior year to a virus and old age.
I lost a friend that always seemed to be laughing and cracking jokes in my junior year to a bad accident.
I lost another friend who seemed to be smiling almost always, in my senior year to a drug over dosage.
Lastly, I lost one of my best friends who always made it his mission to make me smile a little over a month ago to himself.
My freshmen and sophomore year in high school I was sexually assaulted. By someone I thought was my friend and my best friends, brother. During the same time, without the either one knowing of the other. I almost killed myself on many different occasions. I have so many self-harm scars from then. I couldn't see myself living past 17 years old.
When my 18th birthday came around, I was emotionally and mentally healthier. I didn't see the guys who assaulted me, on a daily basis. One moved away because of school and the other stayed home and went to work. I rarely ever saw him.
It took a lot of hard work and time to make it but I eventually graduated. I got into a four-year university. I had been on a good streak of not hurting myself. I was genuinely happy.
32 days after my high school graduation, I lost one of the most important people in my life.
One of my best friends, Austin. He lost himself. And so did our class. We all took the news pretty hard. I barely slept. Barely ate. I cried all the time. I met up with his parents and we all just laughed and smiled at memories. We even cried. He left us broken. But we are all leaning on each other. Like our lives depend on it. Because for me, it does. He helped through so much!
And now, he's gone.
50 days later and I still hurt about it. I haven't hurt myself in any way shape or form. In times f need I feel his hand on my back or my shoulder or my arm. And I see his piercing blue eyes. And I just break all over again. But then I come back to reality and I think:
WWAD
What
Would
Austin
Do?
He would try to realize the reason behind why this is happening. And to live life to the fullest, just like he was going to.
I made a promise to him. I would be better in college. I would try and be a better daughter, sister, friend, stranger, author. He made it his mission to not have anyone feel excluded. I am making it my mission to not just think of myself but think of others. If I start something, I'm going through with it. Start thinking happy thought instead of sad suicidal ones.
I admit, every once in a while some suicide thought run through my mind but then I hear his voice in my head.
"You're better than that"
So now, I'm telling you that if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here. Talk to me. And I will help you to the best of my ability.
This is the first Authors note in here besides the welcome note in the beginning.
If you read this, thank you.
If you didn't well, you wouldn't know.
P.S. I am writing this at like 3 in the morning. Why? I couldn't sleep. I keep feeling Austin here with me. I honestly feel like I'm going crazy, just a little bit.
P.S. PT.2: I seem to be doing a lot of Jonah imagines. Oops. If you want you could DM me some requests. I don't mind
Bear Lake Adventures
Well hi again! Right now I'm sitting in a blue canvas chair on the shore of Bear Lake in Utah for the very first time. My toes are buried in the warm sand, there's a bottle of ice water to my right, and after spending a really long day playing here with our good friends, to be calmly typing now today in this serene spot brings a whole lot of much-needed peace.
Evie is happily digging away in the sand under the shade of a pop-up tent, seagulls are flying overhead (and trying their best to snatch Sophie's chips), and their caws easily remind me of so many different and fun memories from since I was a little girl. I might be lucky to only have really great memories associated with seagulls and waves, sand underfoot and the smell of sunscreen haha, but I think many of you are probably the same.
Last May, once we realized the kids only had a week or so left before Summer break, we all sat down and started forming the ultimate activity list of things that we'd love to do at least once before school started again. We laid down on our stomachs in a circle, a pad in front of me, adding to the bullet list whatever anyone could come up with that seemed possible from simply making a wish on a dandelion to flying on a plane together. We reach nearly 400 items I think? haha With their eyes and their smiles getting bigger with each suggestion, and with some cheers and even jumping up and down at the best or them:) Our biggest goal was to reach the end of our Summer knowing that we had put our family in that circle first before all else, and to feel satisfied with the experiences and adventures we'd had whether they were on the list or not.
Today, I felt that satisfaction for the first time, like if school started tomorrow I'd be semi-okay with it.haha It hit me before right before we left after I bought our first sand toys that this would be the first proper sandy beach visit most of the kids had had or would remember, and I couldn't wait to see them see it. Our Oregon coast trip in February was the first time most of the kids had ever seen waves and walked on sand, but here at Bear Lake they didn't have to wear coats and they could play in the warm water and dig for little shells, and it's been even better than I hoped for!
Visiting here was something that Richard had done often when he went to school in Logan and bought his house, so we added it to the list and hoped for the best. We've accomplished so many little and big things on our list (maybe I should share it here sometime and mark off what we've done?), but it took some great new friends inviting us to join them on their family trip for us to jump in the car and head for the hills.haha We ate a yummy dinner with Amber and Drew and their sweet family the night we arrived, and have spent the last couple of days on the beach watching our kids all play together, enjoying some treats and some frisbee, and just lots of good conversation in the calmest and quietest atmosphere. Also, you can see in the photos that the water closest to the shore is cloudy from being stirred up, but even still I'll never get over how beautifully turquoise the water is on a clear day. Really though! Amber and I laughed about how I should put a disclaimer in here to say no, the color in the pictures isn't an exaggeration or an over-edit, but that it's actually that dreamy much of the time.haha
So I guess I could wrap up by saying we're officially hooked! Growing up on the east coast, Bear Lake was never really an option as a family vacation spot, but I'm really happy about making this a new favorite spot for our family to visit. It's only a few hours to drive here, but it feels like something we'd have to travel far to get to, so I know we'll be counting down the days till we can come back again! Life has been pretty up and down lately, but it's been all up after we added fresh mountain air, a campfire, sandy shores, and a bunch of peace and quiet.
Well today I'm so grateful for good friends who let us share in their fun even on their birthdays, who encourage and uplift, who treat our kiddos like their own, and who show us where the yummiest fries and shakes come from!
Have you ever been to Bear Lake? If so, do you have any recommendations of places to visit or foods to try or things to do? Does your family or friend group have a special spot they visit annually? I really love hearing details like that from you guys so please pass it on!
xoxoxo
P.S. to those of you that have stopped us to say hi, I just need/want to say thank you once again! It means so much to put beautiful faces and personalities and voices behind some of the numbers and handles and tiny profile photos here on the blog and my social media. Some of the things you've said have been incredibly encouraging and will stay with me. That goes for the rest of you friends out there too, even if we never run into eachother. ♡♡♡
